A STRIKE at a major airport in Belgium has forced Ryanair to cancel at least 30 flights, with more to follow.
The industrial action by air traffic control staff could continue well into October, affecting evening schedules.

Industrial action by air traffic control workers at Charleroi Airport started on September 16.
The strike will continue to take place during every night shift from 22pm to 8am the following morning until October 10.
It’s been reported that as a result, Ryanair has cancelled at least 30 flights so far.
Ryanair flies to Charleroi from three UK airports; Newcastle, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Looking at today’s schedule, it’s mostly arrivals into the airport after 9.30pm that are affected.
Only two flights from the UK are affected by the strike action today.
The first is a flight from Manchester Airport to Charleroi which was scheduled for 10.55pm and has since been cancelled.
The second is a flight from Charleroi to Manchester Airport which was scheduled for 19.35pm and has also been cancelled.
Ryanair has asked passengers to monitor their Ryanair App for the latest updates regarding their flight.
In a previous statement, the airline said: “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of these ATC strike delays/cancellations, which are entirely beyond airlines’ control.”
Yesterday, about 40 flights in total were cancelled at Charleroi Airport.
According to Skeyes, the Belgium‘s official national air navigation service provider, the nightly strikes are expected to affect more than 800 flights.
