AN airport in the UK has been forced to close AGAIN just days after strike action resulted in cancelled flights.
Strikes have been ongoing throughout the last few weeks causing some passengers to be rerouted by over 100 miles.
And Norwich Airport will close again for three parts of today with flights already cancelled and delayed.
The air traffic closures are from 6am to 2pm, then 4pm to 4.45pm, and finally from 6.45pm to 7.30pm.
Three KLM flights have been cancelled so far, two of which were departing Norwich Airport this morning.
The 9am KLM flight from Amsterdam to Norwich has also been cancelled.
However the 2.05pm flight is currently delayed to depart at 2.45pm.
Another flight set to depart Norwich at 5pm for Amsterdam remains on the schedule.
The TUI flight to Rhodes is set to leave at 2.05pm, rather than its scheduled time of 12:35pm.
On the website, it reads: “Due to Air Traffic Control staff sickness and ongoing industrial action which limits the flexibility to provide additional staff cover, Norwich Airport will be closed to air traffic on Thursday 3 September during the following periods: 0600 to 1400, 1600 to 1645 and 1845 to 1945.
“Airlines have been informed of the closures. Passengers should check with their airline for the latest information about their flight before travelling to the airport.
“We apologise to passengers for the inconvenience this may cause.”
Last month, Norwich Airport was forced to close for an entire day and suspend all of its flights.
The 24-hour-strike was held by Prospect union as part of an ongoing dispute over pay, terms and conditions.
Some passengers were forced to divert their journey by 101 miles as they departed from Southend Airport in Essex rather than Norwich.
