Need to know
Loose Women and Lorraine are both taking a temporary break from ITV’s daytime schedule.
Here’s everything you need to know on why Loose Women and Lorraine aren’t on ITV this week.
- ITV’s daytime favourites Loose Women and Lorraine will both be taking a break from their regular slots over the next few weeks.
- Loose Women presenter Kaye Adams announced the hiatus during Friday’s episode (March 6), telling viewers: “We will be back next month. Until then, take care, have a fabulous weekend and Easter, and we’ll see you very soon!”
- The scheduling shake-up is to make way for Cheltenham Festival coverage, which will occupy Loose Women’s usual 12:30pm-1:30pm weekday slot.
- Christine Lampard also confirmed Lorraine’s temporary departure at the end of Friday’s show (March 6).
- The changes come after ITV unveiled significant restructuring for its daytime programming last year, resulting in 200 job losses.
- Both Lorraine and Loose Women will now broadcast for just 30 weeks annually as part of the cost-cutting measures.
- With both shows off air, Good Morning Britain will be extended by an additional 30 minutes, finishing at 10am. The replacement programming for Loose Women following the Cheltenham Festival coverage has yet to be announced.
- Fans will have to wait several weeks before their favourite daytime shows return to screens.
