Charlotte, known as ‘missgreedyshome’ online, has over half a million Instagram followers, while her wife Harriet boasts over 100K and shares fitness content.
After tying the knot in October 2024, the couple of eight years almost split up last summer – with Charlotte even sharing a split statement before quickly retracting it.
At the time, the influencer said she was “left with no choice” due to “disrespect” in the relationship.
Since then, Harriet and Charlotte have shared several posts about their relationship and how they have battled through its ups and downs.
And now seemingly in a much stronger place, the couple are once again expanding the family.
Sitting down for a new video, they told the camera: “We’re going to try for another baby.”
Charlotte- who had a tummy tuck last year – went on the explain that having more children is something the couple have been thinking about for a while.
She said: “We’ve been talking about this for a few months. Harriet has been set on it and I’ve kind of been on the fence, leaning back off the fence, and now I’ve fallen frontwards off the fence.
“We just love being mums, and, I think, the boys are growing up; Enzo is nearly 13, Brody is 10 and Phoebe is now two.

“I can’t stand the thought of not having another one. You guys sent an incredible quote to me the other week saying that you’ll never regret the baby you have but you will regret not having that baby.
“And, it just, kind of cemented it for us, didn’t it?”
Charlotte went on to explain that they were only going to have another child if they could use the same sperm donor they previously used to have Phoebe.
Adding that it was “meant to be”, Charlotte said the couple were successful in reserving the same sperm and are set to undergo IUI (Intrauterine Insemination), as opposed to IVF.
They are set to begin the first round in May, with the couple assuring they are set to take fans with them throughout the journey.
While the comment section of the post was filled with friends and fans congratulating the couple, some were also confused about the massive switch up from their previous split woes.
One Instagram user commented: “I say this with respect, but I can’t help thinking about the posts you shared not long ago about you and Harriet splitting up and going through marriage counselling.
“Bringing a baby into the situation is a huge step, and I just hope it’s coming from a place of real stability rather than trying to fix things. A child deserves a secure and settled environment.”
Giving her side of the story, Charlotte replied to the comment: “We have been together nearly 10 years and had many a blip like others I’m sure, we already have 3 kids who have ‘stability’ but thank you for your message.
“I’m sure it doesn’t come from a bad place, our blip was over a year ago now & we share real life and real life will always have its ups and downs.”

A Los Angeles jury has found Alphabet’s Google and Meta liable for $6 million in damages in a landmark social media addiction lawsuit. The case involved a 20-year-old woman who said she became addicted to the apps at a young age due to their platform design. Meta says it plans to appeal the decision.
A California jury found Alphabet’s Google and Meta liable for $3m in damages in a landmark social media addiction lawsuit that accused the companies of being legally responsible for the addictive design of their platforms.
The decision was handed down by a Los Angeles-based jury on Wednesday after more than 40 hours of deliberation across nine days, and more than a month after jurors heard opening statements in the trial.

Among those who testified in the case were Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram head Adam Mosseri, although YouTube chief executive Neal Mohan was not called to testify.
The plaintiff in the case, referred to as KGM or Kaley, was awarded $3m in damages. The 20-year-old said she became addicted to social media at a young age, which exacerbated her mental health issues. She began using YouTube at age six and Meta-owned Instagram at age nine.
Kaley’s legal team alleged that the social media giants used designed features intended to hook young users, including notifications and autoplay features.
“Today’s verdict is a historic moment — for Kaley and for the thousands of children and families who have been waiting for this day. She showed extraordinary courage in bringing this case and telling her story in open court. A jury of Kaley’s peers heard the evidence, heard what Meta and YouTube knew and when they knew it, and held them accountable for their conduct. Today’s verdict belongs to Kaley,” lawyers for the plaintiff said in a statement shared with Al Jazeera.
Jurors were instructed not to consider the content of the posts and videos Kaley saw on the platforms. That is because tech companies are shielded from legal responsibility for user-posted content under Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act.
Meta consistently argued that Kaley had struggled with her mental health separate from her social media use, often pointing to her turbulent home life. Meta also said, “not one of her therapists identified social media as the cause” of her mental health issues in a statement following closing arguments. But the plaintiffs did not have to prove that social media caused Kaley’s struggles — only that it was a “substantial factor” in causing her harm.
YouTube focused less on Kaley’s medical records and mental health history and more on her use of the platform itself. The company argued that YouTube is not a form of social media, but rather a video platform, akin to television, and pointed to her declining use as she got older.
According to company data, she spent about one minute per day on average watching YouTube Shorts since its inception. YouTube Shorts, which launched in 2020, is the platform’s section for short-form, vertical videos that include the “infinite scroll” feature that the plaintiffs argued was addictive.
“We disagree with the verdict and plan to appeal. This case misunderstands YouTube, which is a responsibly built streaming platform, not a social media site,” Jose Castaneda, a spokesperson for Google, told Al Jazeera.
Meta did not respond to Al Jazeera’s request for comment.
Snap and TikTok were previously named in the suit but settled with the plaintiff for undisclosed terms before the trial began.
Shifting momentum
The verdict is the latest in a wave of lawsuits targeting social media companies. There is a looming federal social media addiction case slated to begin in June in Oakland, California.
On Tuesday in New Mexico, a jury found that Meta violated state law by misleading users about the safety of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, and by enabling child sexual exploitation on those platforms.
This case has been closely watched by legal experts, who say the verdict will shape future litigation.
“The fact the jury found Meta and Google liable represents that these cases have real exposure to the social media giants, and are going to frame how future litigation will proceed. Although this case will certainly be appealed, I would not be surprised if Meta and Google are already making changes within their platform to reflect the real exposure, and hopefully, the states will start to enact laws regulating social media in a manner congruent with the ruling,” entertainment lawyer Tre Lovell told Al Jazeera.
Professor Eric Goldman, associate dean for research at the Santa Clara University School of Law, echoed Lovell’s assessment.
“The Los Angeles jury verdict is the first of three bellwether trials in Los Angeles, with more bellwether trials to follow in summer, in the federal case. As such, today’s verdict is just one datapoint about liability and damages. The other trials could reach divergent outcomes, so this jury verdict isn’t the final word on any matter.”
Despite the ruling, Meta’s stock has not taken a hit, as it came the same day CEO Mark Zuckerberg was appointed to a new White House advisory council. The stock is up 0.7 percent. Alphabet’s stock, however, is trending downward in midday trading on the heels of the verdict, down 1 percent.
This is first big step by the ChatGPT maker to focus its business on potentially more lucrative areas, such as coding tools.

OpenAI is shutting down its social media app Sora, which went viral towards the end of last year as a place to share short-form videos generated by artificial intelligence but also raised alarms in Hollywood and elsewhere.
OpenAI said in a brief social media message on Tuesday that it was “saying goodbye to the Sora app” and that it would share more soon about how to preserve what users had already created on the app.

“What you made with Sora mattered, and we know this news is disappointing,” it said.
The company behind ChatGPT released Sora in September as an attempt to capture the attention, and potentially advertising dollars, that follow short-form videos on TikTok, YouTube or Meta-owned Instagram and Facebook.
But a growing chorus of advocacy groups, academics and experts expressed concerns about the dangers of letting people create AI videos on just about anything they can type into a prompt, leading to the proliferation of nonconsensual images and realistic deepfakes in a sea of less harmful “AI slop”.
OpenAI was forced to crack down on AI creations of public figures – among them, Michael Jackson, Martin Luther King Jr and Mister Rogers – doing outlandish things, but only after an outcry from family estates and an actors’ union.
Disney, which made a deal with OpenAI last year to bring its characters to Sora, said in a statement on Tuesday that it respects “OpenAI’s decision to exit the video generation business and to shift its priorities elsewhere”.
But Disney did not see the move coming, the Reuters news agency reported.
On Monday evening, Walt Disney and OpenAI teams were working together on a project linked to Sora. Just 30 minutes after the meeting, the Disney team was blindsided with word that OpenAI was dropping the tool altogether, a person familiar with the matter said.
OpenAI announced the move publicly on Tuesday.
“It was a big rug-pull,” according to the person, who requested anonymity to discuss the matter.
Messy process
The move is the first big step by the ChatGPT maker to focus its business on potentially more lucrative areas, such as coding tools and corporate customers.
But the abrupt cancellation of Sora illustrates how messy the streamlining process may become as OpenAI prepares for a stock market debut that could come as early as later this year.
The Sora decision means the end of a blockbuster $1bn deal between Disney and the ChatGPT maker that was announced a little more than three months ago. As part of the three-year deal, Disney said it would invest $1bn in OpenAI and lend more than 200 of its iconic characters to be used in short, AI-generated videos.
But the transaction between the companies never closed, two other people familiar with the matter said, and no money changed hands.

CHAPPELL Roan has spoken out again in the war of words between her and the famous family who accused her of being rude to fans.
A storm of controversy was sparked when ex-Chelsea and Arsenal footballer Jorginho accused the singer of sending her“aggressive” security over to his step-daughter and allegedly berating the child and her mother at a hotel in Sao Paulo.

Jorginho is married to Catherine Harding who shares the 11-year-old girl, named Ava, with her ex, British actor Jude Law.
After the footballer lambasted Chappell on Instagram, the Pink Pony Club singer posted a video saying she had not noticed the young girl and did not send security over to speak to them.
But then Catherine weighed in on her own social media saying the security was very aggressive and left Ada in tears.
Now that the incident has gone viral, Chappell has issued another statement through her spokesperson.
“Chappell was not aware of any interaction between this mother/daughter and a third-party security office,” the spokesperson said.
“She did not see them at breakfast in her hotel, as she said in her video. She did not direct her personal security or anyone on her team to interact with them.”
The statement continued: “Chappell holds her own teams to the highest standards and has zero tolerance for any kind of aggressive behaviour towards her or her fans.”
Catherine and Ada had planned to attend Chappell’s set at the Lollapalooza festival as part of the child’s birthday present, but skipped it after the interaction with the security guard.
The furore kicked off when Jorginho put Chappell on blast when he wrote about an “upsetting situation” that had occurred at the hotel.
“My wife (@catcavelli) is in Sao Paulo for @lollapaloozabr. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire.”
Chappell posted a video denying the accusationsCredit: Not known, clear with picture deskThen Catherine also posted refuting Chappell’s claimsCredit: catcavelli/Instagram
He continued: “By coincidence, they’re staying at the same hotel as this artist.
“During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her.
“And the worst part is she didn’t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything.
“What happened next was completely disproportionate.”
After Jorginho’s post blew up, Chappell filmed a video from her bed to refute his claims.
“I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not. They did not come up to me. I did not do anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe it as there’s no action been taken,” she said.
“I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like that is crazy. I am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something.
“If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”
Jorginho and Catherine now live in Rio de Janeiro where he plays for the club Flamengo.
In 2014, Catherine was briefly in a relationship with Hollywood A-lister Jude Law.
Catherine fell pregnant during their time together, and the singer-songwriter gave birth to daughter Ada.
She and Jorginho started dating in 2019 and the pair welcomed their first child, son Jax, to the world in September 2020.
Jorginho and Catherine tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Lake Como in 2025.

Chowdhury said they then struck him on the head with a piece of wood while he was out.
The Zutons star, known for singles like ‘Why Won’t You Give Me Your Love?’, shared photos of his injuries on social media.
The guitarist wrote on Instagram: “If I hadn’t of turned around I believe I would’ve been struck on the back of the head and dead right now.”
Cops said the ex-Zutons star sustained a serious head injury and required hospital treatment, following the altercation.
Detective Inspector Debra Morley of Merseyside Police said: “This was a shocking assault that has absolutely no place in our communities.
“To racially abuse someone and then attack him with a weapon is abhorrent and I’m sure the public in Merseyside will be just as appalled as we are about what happened.

Lydia posted a series of coastal snaps from her new property in Norfolk.
The 36-year-old opened up about the long journey in a heartfelt caption as she prepares to add another property to her portfolio.
Writing rather than speaking to her followers, she penned: “We bought a new home.
“Six years ago we began our search, first in the Cotswolds, and then after a trip to Cley-next-the-Sea where we completely fell in love with the Norfolk coast, our search moved there.
“We looked for something special but never quite found it.
“Until October, when I stumbled across a 200-year-old fisherman’s cottage. And last week, we finally completed.”
Even modest cottages on the Norfolk coast can fetch £300,000, while prime properties soar past £1million.
The new coastal bolthole marks a lifestyle shift for Lydia and Ali, who have long documented their countryside life online.
The crumbling cottage is expected to undergo a full-scale transformation, with fans already anticipating a series of renovation updates across her social platforms.
Lydia explained: “It needs everything. Heating, rewiring, kitchen, bathroom, windows. A full renovation.
“But one day hollyhocks will grow in the front garden again, and Paul’s Himalayan musk roses will ramble their way back across the flint and brick facade.”

Lydia has previously revealed she owns multiple properties, all mortgage-free, explaining she “doesn’t like having debt”.
The influencer has faced backlash in recent months, with some fans accusing her of not being entirely truthful about her roots.
Born in Watford, Hertfordshire, Lydia has spoken openly about growing up in a council house with her mum after her parents split.
She has previously said she “flunked” her GCSEs before training as a beauty therapist.
Before finding fame online, Lydia also spent seasons working in Ibiza.
Her social media career took off after moving to the countryside, where she spotted a gap in the market for aspirational British lifestyle content.
However, critics have claimed she has “reinvented” herself including adopting a more polished speaking voice.
Responding to one follower who asked why she had changed the way she speaks, Lydia said: “Because I just don’t see why I shouldn’t?
“I value being well spoken, and I know it also helps my international audience.”
Now a social media powerhouse, Lydia shares her idyllic country lifestyle with 1.6million Instagram followers, 1.4million on TikTok and more than one million YouTube subscribers.
The TikTok star is married to Ali Gordon, whom she met on Instagram in 2012.
The pair tied the knot in December 2017 at Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire and are now thought to be worth around £10million.

Her height meant she could scoop up a pink water bottle branded with the Air Up logo before she took a sip.
The slurp appeared to transport her into both a new location – the roof of Buckingham Palace – and a new denim pinstripe outfit.
She wrapped the clip by visiting locations including St Paul’s Cathedral and Big Ben.
Yet on TikTok, her followers have alleged she has used AI to create the scenes – and claimed the technology goes against Air Up’s environmentally friendly credentials.
Criticisms came from two angles – the nature of content creation as a creative process, and also for AI using huge volumes of water, seemingly going against green principles.
The Sun has gone to Anastacia’s rep for comment.
Fans have claimed Anastacia, whose content focusses on lifestyle, leisure and beauty, has abandoned the “creative process” with her latest venture.
One TikTok user, who works in marketing, ranted: “Honestly, I am not happy about it.
“And I don’t think a lot of people are, judging by the comments on the video”.

She added: “It really cuts down on what content creation really is.
“If you work in marketing like myself you will know that this is totally wrong.
“The whole point of content creation is creative process”.
Fans of Anastacia, who has previously collaborated with ITV bosses for a Love Island promotion, continued to take to the comments in fury.
One simply posted: “Who’s idea was this?? Omg”.
A second mused: “I do like some of their content, but Ana and her family don’t seem hugely aware or maybe even that bothered by environmental issues unfortunately. (a LOT of consumption etc!)”.
A third added: “The funny part about it is , the ad is for a refillable water bottle (to try and tackle plastic waste etc) but then it the ad is literally AI!! you couldn’t write it honestly”.
A fourth mused: “The hypocrisy of these ‘influencers’ is gross tbh”.
“I’m surprised the brand approved it to be honest…says a lot about them too! I think being aware of the environmental impact AI has is important too”.
And another user surmised: “For me its the context of the ad being for a refillable water bottle while using AI which uses tons of water. It is a little ironic”.
Campaigners have previously flagged the significant carbon, energy and water use that AI requires.
Previously, Sasha Luccioni, climate lead at AI company Hugging Face told The Guardian: “What I’m worried about is that we’re deploying AI in such a way that we don’t have a good idea of the energy use.
“We’re essentially operating on the hypothesis that it’s not a problem – or that if it is a problem it will somehow be solved – instead of getting ahead of it.”
While Anastacia has posted the video to her Instagram grid, the brand is yet to feature it on their page.

Becki told her 1.3 million followers during a TikTok Live last year that she “wasn’t ready” to share how she’d transformed her image but in her latest video, said she’d been through some of the hardest times in her life while losing weight.
In the video she posted a montage of moments from recent months that showed her swimming in a pool, going to concerts, showing off cute outfits and working out in her room.
In a voiceover she started by saying that she doesn’t understand why she has to explain every detail of her life to strangers.
“Yes, I do put myself on a public platform. Yes, I post my life. But why should I have to defend myself against people’s thoughts on my weight loss?” she began.
“I’ve said I have not had surgery in any form or any medication to help aid weight loss.
“In 2023, I even considered gastric sleeve surgery myself but I changed my mind.”
Becki continued: “As you can imagine it is exhaust trying to prove something to people who don’t want to change their mind about you.
“I feel like I am an easy target for people to bully because that’s what broke me last year.”
The influencer said that while she did understand that some of her followers wanted to learn about her weight loss, others thought she owed them an explanation.
“I simply and politely don’t want to talk about it.

“I’ve been through some of the worst times of my life whilst losing weight and still some days are hard now and now I’m being a little closed off and only letting a few things out, but can we just stop and think about how things affect me?” Becki asked.
“Yes, I feel good in myself most days, but I have hard days just like every human does.
“I have my own fears and problems that I’m trying to overcome each day, which makes talking about weight loss Extremely difficult.”
She explained how a lot of her followers “speculated on things” happening in her life, “and one day I may talk more deeply about it all but it’s hard as a content creator to tell your story without being judged.”
Becki went on to thank her “loyal supporters” for their support and who “compliment my weight without wanting an explanation”.
She became famed on TikTok for her ‘what I eat in a day’ videos, which showed her enjoying foods such asMcDonalds for breakfast, takeaways and treats.
Last year, a source told The Sun why Becki really left social media, and why she returned.
They explained: “Everyone knows Becki took six months offline because she felt the trolling had become too much.
“It was a real chance to reflect on her life and the main cause of issues – her weight. She’s also a secret smoker, so really did start to feel like her lifestyle wasn’t doing her any favours.
“Once she started losing some weight, she felt a new wave of confidence and when she returned online and saw the reaction to the way she looked, it really spurred her on.”
They added: “It’s the same when she was larger and the more she ate, the more people watched her videos. At the end of the day, it’s all about engagement and making money. It’s addictive.”

Jury finds that two tweets posted in May 2022 by Musk contained false statements responsible for a plunge in Twitter’s share price.
Published On 21 Mar 202621 Mar 2026
A federal jury in California has found that tech tycoon Elon Musk misled Twitter shareholders, driving down the company’s share price as he was poised to buy it in a $44bn deal.
The verdict delivered on Friday in the class action securities lawsuit means the world’s richest person could be ordered to pay billions of dollars, according to damages calculated by jurors.

After a three-week trial in a San Francisco federal court – which included in-person testimony from Musk – the jury found that two tweets posted in May 2022 by the Tesla and SpaceX CEO contained false statements responsible for a plunge in Twitter’s share price.
Investor Giuseppe Pampena had filed the suit on behalf of people who sold Twitter shares between mid-May and early October 2022.
Jurors agreed that Musk violated a securities rule that bars false and misleading statements that sink a stock price, in this case that of Twitter, the verdict form showed. A lawyer for the plaintiffs estimated the damages at about $2.6bn.
But the nine-person jury absolved Musk of some fraud allegations, finding that he did not “scheme” to mislead investors.
Minutes after the judgement was announced, lawyers for Musk, who acquired the social media platform in late October 2022 and later renamed it X, said their client will appeal the decision, characterising it as a “setback”.
Musk, who has a near-constant presence on X, did not immediately react to the verdict, which marks a rare legal defeat for the billionaire often dubbed “Teflon Elon” for his ability to emerge unscathed from lawsuits he is expected to lose.
In 2023, a jury in the same San Francisco federal court cleared him within hours of similar charges brought by Tesla shareholders, following his 2018 tweets claiming he had the funding to take the automaker private.
Musk abandoned his effort to get out of buying Twitter in late 2022 after the company took him to court to uphold the contract. He has since merged the social media platform with his artificial intelligence startup xAI and his private space exploration firm SpaceX.
Forbes magazine earlier this month estimated Elon Musk’s net worth at $839bn, a figure based primarily on his stakes in his portfolio of companies including Tesla and SpaceX.
Heavy social media use has contributed to ‘worrying decline’ in wellbeing in Western countries, World Happiness Report says.
Published On 19 Mar 202619 Mar 2026
Social media has played a large role in declining happiness among young people in Western countries, a United Nations-backed report has found.
Heavy social media use partly explains a “worrying decline” in the wellbeing of young people in the West, the latest edition of the annual World Happiness Report said on Wednesday.

In total, 15 Western countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, saw significant declines in youth wellbeing over the past two decades, according to the report.
The trend was not observed globally, with young people in regions covering 90 percent of the world’s population reporting higher life satisfaction than before.
“The trends are caused by many factors, which differ between continents. However, the evidence in this report does suggest that heavy social media use, especially in some countries, provides an important part of the explanation,” researchers John F Helliwell, Richard Layard, Jeffrey D Sachs, Jan-Emmanuel De Neve, Lara B Aknin, and Shun Wang said in an executive summary of the report.
“Outside the English-speaking world and Western Europe, the links between social media use and wellbeing are more positive, and they vary between platforms,” the researchers added.
The report, published by the University of Oxford’s Wellbeing Research Centre in partnership with Gallup and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, cited data from sources including the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and research by the American social psychologist Jonathan Haidt.
Despite the decline in youth wellbeing, Western countries, particularly in Scandinavia, dominated the overall happiness rankings across age groups.
Finland ranked as the world’s happiest nation for the ninth consecutive year, followed by Iceland, Denmark, Costa Rica, Sweden and Norway.
The Netherlands, Israel and Switzerland also made the top 10.
Middle Eastern and African countries had the lowest happiness scores.
Afghanistan reported the lowest life satisfaction, with Zimbabwe, Malawi, Egypt, Yemen and Lebanon also ranking among the bottom 10 countries.
Social media use among young people has been a growing concern for governments amid reports linking platforms to bullying, sexual exploitation and worsening mental health.
Australia last year introduced the world’s first social media ban for under 16s, with plans for similar restrictions under way in Indonesia, France and Greece.
ABSOLUTE Radio DJ Andy Bush has revealed heartless scammers have stolen his elderly parents’ life savings.
In total, the devastated couple, both 78, were swindled out of £16,000 in an elaborate scheme that used Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis‘s trusted name to entice them.

Absolute Radio’s Andy Bush has revealed his parents have been scammed by fraudstersCredit: AlamyThe scam used a fake ad that used Martin Lewis’s trusted reputationCredit: ITV
A ‘broker’ going by the name of ‘John’ gained Andy’s dad’s trust after he clicked into an online link promising to maximise his savings. In reality, Good Morning Britain star Martin had no affiliation with the advert at all.
Andy, who hosts Hometime with Bush&Richie, told The Sun: “They’re really humiliated.
“My dad’s an ex-computer programmer, systems analyst. So he feels someone like him, who’s had a job like that, shouldn’t be falling for a scam like this. So they feel very, very humiliated.
“I feel like a lot of their kind of plans and dreams have kind of gone up in smoke a little bit because that little nest egg that they had to go and do nice retirement stuff is now suddenly completely gone.”
Andy’s dad has memory issues, which his son believes made him more susceptible to the scam. Neither Andy, nor his brother, had any idea his parents were moving around large sums of money, and he believes they were coerced by ‘John’ not to tell anyone.
Once his dad had clicked the dodgy link, a portal opened to ‘John’ who was then on the phone to them “non-stop”.
Andy likened it to a romance scam and said his parents told him they would speak to ‘John’ on the phone two or three times a day.
“Even when it all came to light that it was a scam, my mum still wouldn’t believe that John, lovely John, would do this to them. So, they really bought into him as a person,” said Andy.
‘John’ set up a Revolut account on Andy’s parents behalf and began transferring large chunks of money from their TSB savings account.
He coached them on what to say to TSB agents when they queried the transfers — though Andy is upset that the bank didn’t do more to clamp down on the out of character money movements.
“Every time they transferred a chunk of £5,000, £6,000 or whatever, TSB would phone up and go, ‘just making sure you’re not transferring this to whatever’. And they would say, ‘no, no, it’s for this, that or whatever’,” he said.
‘John’ then instructed them to put an app on each of their phones, which allowed him to have full access to all their details and to see what they were doing on their devices.
He also installed a fake crypto exchange that showed their money rising at an impressive rate when in reality it had all but disappeared.
Eventually, Andy found out something was amiss when his mum asked if she could borrow £4,000 in order to deposit it into her account to pass an ‘anti-money laundering check’.
Alarm bells immediately rang and Andy asked her to show him the email from ‘John’. Upon seeing it, he said he knew “straight away” that it was fraudulent.
In the meantime, ‘John’ had arranged a £4,000 loan with M&S Bank, which led to Andy’s parents having to cancel their cards after multiple payments began to be made on them.
Andy’s intervention didn’t immediately put an end to the scamming.

Two days later, his parents received an email from a fake cryptocurrency loss recovery company that claimed it could recover their stolen money.
The fresh scam asked for forms to be submitted and a £3,000 payment paid. Andy said he believed the original scammers were behind it.
Even though, his parents’ phones have been wiped, he said there are still concerns the scammers have access.
Andy and his parents have now instructed CEL Solicitors who specialise in recouping money lost to fraud and have contacted the police.
CEL told him that they deal with 500 such cases a month and some £500m is stolen from people each year in total.
He said: “I’ve had so many messages from people who have not just had their parents scammed like this, but a woman in her 30s was scammed out of money when her baby was seven days old because she wasn’t concentrating properly and just pressed the button. You know, young people, old people.
“My mum and dad don’t know who to trust now.
“It’s brought up some really horrible conversations. My mum and dad have always been very outgoing and doing different things, and they’ve always got plans and all that kind of stuff. Now they have to run pretty much everything past me and my brother just to double-check that they’re not being scammed again.”
HOW TO NOT GET CAUGHT OUT BY A SCAM
Follow these tips by Virgin Money to avoid being caught in a trap…
Protect your details
Never disclose security details, such as your PIN, full banking password or one-time passcode to anyone, even bank staff.
A genuine bank or organisation will never ask you for these on the phone.
Don’t assume an email, text or phone call is authentic.
Just because someone knows your basic details (such as your name and address or even your mother’s maiden name), it doesn’t mean they are genuine.
Remember, criminals can also make any telephone number appear on your phone handset so even if you recognise it or it seems authentic, do not use it as verification they are genuine.
Don’t be rushed
A genuine organisation won’t mind waiting. Under no circumstances would a genuine bank or some other trusted organisation force you to make a financial transaction on the spot.
Always remember: Stop. Think. Check.
Listen to your instincts
You know if something doesn’t feel right.
Criminals may lull you into a false sense of security when you are out and about or rely on your defences being down when you’re in the comfort of your own home.
Stay in control
Don’t panic and make a decision you’ll regret. Have the confidence to refuse unusual requests for personal or financial information.
It’s easy to feel embarrassed when faced with unexpected or complex conversations. But it’s okay to stop the discussion if you do not feel in control of it.

As she holds her head in her hands, she emotionally expresses: “He’s never going to be that small.”
He captioned the post: “Reminder… Don’t make your wife a photo album of your newborn baby for Mother’s Day.”
Fans flocked to the comments section as one said: “So valid. You blink and they aren’t the little baby you brought home.”
Another person commented: “That’s the baby bond burrowing it’s way through all the tired days, the hard times and the cray cray. It’s painfully beautiful.”
Somebody else penned: “Bless her, we all know this feeling but the best is yet to come as his little personality develops.

Yet another follower gushed: “That’s so sweet. Bless your heart Sophie you’re such a lovely mum.”

Sophie recently opened up about her motherhood journey while attending the Brit Awards with Jamie earlier this month.
During an interview with Chloe Burrows for KISS FM, she was asked: “Is there anything you’re not loving about being a new mum?”
The new mother responded: “The constant mum guilt.”
“You just feel guilty for being here, but then feel guilty… yeah, that’s not good.”
While Jamie added: “The hardest thing about having a baby is the burping.”
Rolling her eyes, Sophie chimed in: “The mums do everything.”
But to that, Jamie claimed: “I mean, this is a joke.”
Moments later, Sophie then shared: “I have the better instincts.”
Stunned by his wife’s claims, Jamie clapped back and snapped: “No, I have better instincts.”

And the boys reckon it still feels surreal seeing thousands of teenagers queuing to hear them play.
Nicolas said: “I wouldn’t say it’s overwhelming, it’s more of a strange feeling, because the first show was a bit of a shock.

“Prior to that I was monetising on TikTok and doing very well,” he continued, and confirmed there were some months when he earned more than £40,000.
“People don’t know how TikTok works, it’s not just posting content. You can go live, you can do co-host battles with people and that’s a call to action, people will support you with gifting.”
DJ AG also earns money on TikTok by doing ‘forfeit challenges,’ where two content creators go head-to-head and the loser has to undertake an intense dare.
“I was bantering and people were enjoying the content so people were gifting, and I earned a good amount of money,” he said.
“Maybe in one month, I earned more than a year’s salary.”
He explained he is earning less from TikTok now because he’s only doing the outdoor DJ sets and there’s no “call to action” to encourage people to send monetary gifts.
DJ AG said he was happy to talk about his earnings because he wanted to be honest with up-and-coming content creators, not only about the financial gains, but also the huge amount of work that goes in to being a hip hop star.

“People don’t understand the amount of hours I had to do, like 15 hours a day every day,” he said.
“In my opinion, it’s important to be transparent especially for the youth that are coming through so they understand what the opportunities are.”
People who post on TikTok have the opportunity to join the TikTok Creator Fund, which pays content creators for their views.
To join the program TikTokers must be 18 or older, have a minimum of 10,000 followers, a minimum of 100,000 views within 30 days of uploading the video, and run an account that follows TikTok Community Guidelines.
While it is not a grant or ad revenue program, the Creator Fund provides payment to qualified TikTokers based on a “variety of factors” across their content.
“We want all creators to have the opportunity to earn money doing what they love and turn their passion into a livelihood,” the website continues.
With no limit on the number of qualified TikTokers who can join the fund, payments may increase or decrease at different times throughout one’s run on the platform.
Some factors affecting the funds a qualified TikToker may earn include the number of authentic views per video, the amount of engagement, and whether or not the work falls within the Community Guidelines.

Becki replied: “I have been honest about everything that needs to be said.
“The only thing I haven’t told you about is what I’ve been through and what I’m currently battling with as well. It’s nothing that will benefit anybody knowing, so, yeah.”
Later on in the stream, she said: “I did not come back to TikTok in September to be like, ‘Guys! I’ve lost weight’.
“That was not my intention, it was not my goal. Like I’ve said, my page was never gonna be ‘Becki Jones for fitness’ or ‘Becki Jones for how to lose weight’.
“That’s never been my goal for my journey on TikTok or as a content creator.”
Becki added: “I’ve come back and to be fair, most of my weight I’ve lost has been since September.”
Fans in the comment section still weren’t convinced by her comments, as one wrote: “People just want honesty… period!”
“Just give people a straight answer, especially your loyal followers,” echoed another.
However, others defended that it was “nobody’s business” what Becki has done.
