However, his team took to his Instagram stories and told his fans that he wouldn’t be performing and instead, the gig would be postponed for next year.

The post read: “Important information about tonight’s show.

“Due to a mechanical fault with the aircraft’s landing gear, Rod Stewart is regretfully unable to travel to Niagara Falls and must postpone tonight’s performance at Fallsview Casino Resort.

“Rod is deeply disappointed and apologises to fans for the inconvenience.

Rod Stewart, 81, breaks silence after stopping show for oxygen & cancelled gigs

“He looks forward to returning for the rescheduled performance on Thursday, March 4, 2027 where he promises to make it up to his fans.

“Purchased tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date. Existing complimentary reservations will be cancelled,” they signed off.

The venue shared the same post on their own Instagram feed as fans flocked to the comments section to share their frustrations.

One fan wrote: “We’ve been looking forward to this for so long.”

Another bemoaned: “Why couldn’t the concert be pushed back a few hours or even moved to tomorrow? Moving it to next year is crazy, he’s obviously landing eventually..”

While a third added: “It seems he’s cancelled the last couple of shows.”

Back in June, Rod cancelled his California show for his One Last Time tour at the last minute, citing that he was too unwell to perform.

However, just hours later he told his fans he was heading to Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts to see Scotland take on Haiti in the World Cup.

The rock and roll star said on Instagram: “Here we are flying off to Boston to see Scotland in the World Cup.

“It’s been 28 years so these kids I’ve told them about it they’ve never been.

“I’ve been to seven world cups, I’ve been to Argentina, Germany, France, Italy, Mexico, loads of them, this is the seventh.

“We want them to get through to the next round and ill die a happy man, so that’d be great. Come on Scotland!!!”

He was spotted enjoying all of the perks of the VIP box with his two sons.

The performer even had two drinks sitting in front of him, which he sipped on while he enjoyed the match.

However, fans were unhappy that the star was “too unwell to perform” yet he still went to the World Cup match.

Commenting on Rod’s video, one follower wrote: “So you blew off all the people in San Diego that wanted to see you in concert but were able to go to the World Cup, I see! I’m a huge fan of yours but I don’t think that’s cool.”

Another fan added: “What is difficult to accept is the lack of sensitivity toward those of us who made a significant effort to attend his concert and then it was cancelled.”

While a third fumed: “I understand that shows sometimes have to be cancelled, and if there was a legitimate reason, most fans would have accepted it.

“What’s hard to accept is seeing you apparently celebrating on a plane with friends less than 24 hours after thousands of people were sent home disappointed in San Diego.”

The singer-songwriter put a unique spin on his stag do – as he joined a The 1975 tribute act on stage.

A clip of the moment begins with tribute group The 9075 singing The Sound, which was released in 2019.

Matty jumps on stage mid-performance and performs alongside the band.

One person commented: “Matty Healy attending a 1975 tribute is very Matty Healy coded.”

Another added: “I thought the real Matty was the fake Matty until he started counting things on his fingers that don’t need to be counted, that’s when I knew.”

A third wrote: “He wanted to experience a 1975 concert for his stag party and I respect it.”

Matty – the son of Denise Welch and Tim Healy – is set to marry American model and singer Gabbriette.

He and the 28-year-old – whose real name is Gabriella Bechtel – announced their engagement in June 2024.

Gabbriette showed off a huge black ring on social media at the time and wrote: “Marrying the 1975 is very Brat.”

Back in February, The Sun revealed the couple had set a July 2026 wedding date.

During his last gig yesterday, his sister Gemma took to the stage to pay tribute to her brother.

She said: “This is the last place I thought I’d be! But my little brother is about to finish a record breaking 12 nights at Wembley.

“I don’t think of you like this in day to day life. I think of you as a brother, as an uncle, a best friend.

“The community that’s been formed around you is just indescribable, thank you to everyone been here with you over the past 12 nights and last 16 years.

“Since I left you over the wall over there. I was like ‘are you gonna be okay, small person’ and now we’re here.

“I’m so proud of you and not just proud because you’ve done things like this, which nobody does.

“I’m proud of who you are and who you allow other people to be.

“The impact you’ve made on so many not least on us who get to love you and what a privilege that is.

“Thank you for being you.”

Gemma then asked the audience to help her congratulate Harry on his historic 12 night event as the siblings warmly embraced each other.

It comes after Harry stunned fans by the sweet tribute he made to his ex Taylor Swift at his Wembley gig last night.

The former One Direction star, who dated Taylor in 2012, was on stage in London last night when he crooned a song about his ex on her wedding day to Travis Kelce.

Harry sang the song Two Ghosts, which is widely believed to be about Taylor, after NOT performing it at any of his prior Together Together gigs at Wembley stadium.

Reacting to Harry’s seemingly brazen tribute, one person said on X: “TWO GHOSTS WHILE TAYLOR IS GETTING MARRIED IS CRAZY.”

“COMPLETELY CRAZY! Harry pulling a chorus of ‘Two Ghosts’ with the fans today at #TogetherTogetherLondon,” said a second.

“ON TAYLOR’S WEDDING DAY he isn’t innocent,” penned a third.

Harry last crooned the song on June 16 when he performed an orchestral rendition of the track at the Meltdown Festival in London.

But fans were still left taken aback by it being included in his Together Together gigs, as it has not been part of any setlist on this specific run of shows before.

Harry was invited to the wedding, as was his partner Zoe Kravitz.

The reason Harry was not at the wedding, was not because of any lingering bad blood between the exes – because they’re actually on good terms – but because he is currently on his Together, Together tour.

Taylor is now an officially married woman after her nuptials to Travis Kelce on Friday night.

And Harry is smitten with Zoe, who is good pals with Taylor.
