Ultimate Warriors, formerly Ninja Warrior UK, in Gloucester, shut down earlier this month.
This comes after the adventure park was plunged into administration, only a year after leaving the national Ninja Warrior group.
Ultimate Warriors hoped to sell the business, exploring every option to remain open.
Following a sale falling through last minute, they had no option but to close, nearly seven years after it opened in October 2019.
Only recently, Ultimate Warriors had refreshed its equipment and activities, running independently as a family-run business.
Ultimate Warriors Gloucester said on Facebook: “After six and a half wonderful years, it is with great sadness that we announce Ultimate Warriors has entered administration and has closed its doors.
“We explored every possible option to keep our much-loved venue open. Unfortunately, despite strong interest, we are devastated to have a sale fall through at the last minute.
“As a small business, we simply do not have the financial reserves to continue operating in such uncertain economic conditions, even with the incredible support and feedback we have received from our guests over the years.”
Ultimate Warriors was formerly part of the Ninja Warrior UK franchise, which owns 16 adventure parks across the UK, all based on the hit ITV show.
Similar to the Ninja Warrior UK set up, Ultimate Warriors in Gloucester had a variety of activities, including monkey bars, slides and climbing walls.
Now, the Ultimate Warriors team is supporting its staff get new jobs, including reaching out to Airhop Gloucester to possibly accommodate them.
Ultimate Warriors Gloucester said: “To everyone who visited us, celebrated with us, worked with us, or supported us along the way – thank you. Your support, loyalty, and memories will stay with us forever.”
EastEnders has teased which characters will face life-changing events during their special week on the BBC soap, with new spoilers teasing some big twists for next week

New spoilers for EastEnders have teased the BBC soap’s big week, where “everything changes” for more than one resident.
Specific scenes are being kept under wraps, but it’s set to be unmissable. Lives will no doubt be changed, and there will be bombshells aplenty.
There’s a huge change to the usual format to for the BBC soap, with things being a little different to mark the occasion. More than one character is involved in the episode, and it’s safe to say that whatever happens, it will impact more than one Walford family.
In a special week of episodes, set across one night, everything changes. Following the drama of Vicki and Ross’ wedding, Walford residents gather but Yolande realises Denise is missing.
Denise soon opens up to Yolande about her cancer diagnosis. She soon receives a call where she’s told she needs immediate treatment, but some worrying family news leaves her rushing to be with Chelsea in her time of need. Prior to this, Mark and Chelsea flirt, but it’s Zack she almost shares a kiss with.
As Chelsea heads back to the wedding reception marquee, her world is turned upside down. Denise tries to be strong for Chelsea, as Yolande helps cover for Denise when her absence is questioned.
Later, Denise tells Jack about her diagnosis. Kathy and Cindy are at loggerheads after one too many wines, but the night is about to take a turn for the worst for Ian.
When there’s a knock at the door, Ian makes a discovery and he realises he could lose everything. Max publicly declares his love for Cindy, before asking her to marry him.
Kat worries that she and Alfie have given the wedding guests food poisoning. Harry makes a confession to Gina about Eddie, leaving her confronting George.
As George realises his dad Eddie will never change, he tries to apologise to his daughter but Gina flees. Soon, George tells Eddie he’s sending him back to prison, which leads to Eddie dropping a bombshell of his own.
As George takes action to protect his family, he may regret it. It’s going to be a massive week for the soap, with plenty of twists and turns ahead, so it isn’t a week to be missed.
What happens to Chelsea? How do Denise’s family react to her cancer news and what happens with Ian? The spoilers are intentionally cryptic with plenty more being kept under wraps until each episode airs that week.

In an exclusive chat after her headline set at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland, Ellie added: “I’ve spent the past few years working really closely with a brilliantly talented producer and multi-instrumentalist called Jack Rochon.
“I actually found him on TikTok when he was still relatively undiscovered, living in Canada.
“He’s since moved to LA and worked with Beyonce.
“I immediately connected with what he was doing creatively.
“I have always loved discovering emerging talent and championing new voices, just like I did when I first started out and discovered Starsmith.
“We’ve recorded hundreds of songs together, and I loved the freedom of exploring different sounds, feelings, thoughts and experiences.
“It felt really organic and honest, like journaling through music.”
During her incredible set, where she was watched live for the first time by young son Arthur, Ellie debuted upcoming single Black Prada Dress.
Ellie said of the song: “There’s not one definitive experience that inspired it.
“It’s directed at that negative, critical voice bringing you down. And that voice could be your own, internal voice — that self-critical, destructive one.
“I feel like we all have one of those, just like we have different versions of ourselves.
“I love the honesty of it, the rawness, and I hope people can connect to it in their own way.”
Ellie lit up the crowd in Sunderland, kicking off with I Need You Love before hits including Still Falling For You, Love Me Like You Do and Lights.
The singer added with a grin: “It felt so, so good to be back performing at Radio 1 Big Weekend.
“The crowd was amazing, the sun was shining. Great vibes all round.
“I remember my first-ever Radio 1 Big Weekend performance back in 2010.
“My debut album had just gone to No1 and I was on cloud nine.
“It’s been four albums since then.
“So to come back to debut Black Prada Dress in the mix with some of my old favourites feels like a real full-circle moment.”
It was made all the more special for Ellie, who gave birth to her second child, Iris, in March.
She said: “It’s such a joy, my son is here today.
“I love playing music to them, especially classical music.”
With a potential record of classical music in the works, too, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ellie had already given the kids a taster.
Ra-ra Larsson
Zara Larsson delivered what could easily go down as her best Big Weekend performanceCredit: Splash
ZARA LARSSON delivered what could easily go down as her best Big Weekend performance.
The Swedish singer, wearing a light blue ra-ra skirt, pulled out all the stops during her fourth appearance at the festival on Saturday.
She opened with Midnight Sun before blasting through tracks including Can’t Tame Her, Ain’t My Fault, Lush Life and finishing with a cover of Clean Bandit’s Symphony, the No1 song she featured on in 2017.
But the standout moment came when Zara invited one lucky fan, Kayleigh, up to join her.
“This is my favourite part of the show but it’s also the hardest,” Zara said.
“Because I see so many of you are giving me the best energy ever.”
Welcoming Kayleigh on to the stage, Zara immediately recognised her from a previous show in America.
Zara then spray-painted a personalised T-shirt for Kayleigh in front of the crowds after she revealed she was flying over to LA in the coming weeks to watch her perform again.
Now that’s dedication.
EMMA’S GOT NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR THIEVES
Emma Myers showed she is a Radio 1 superfan and was spotted hanging out backstageCredit: Alamy
WEDNESDAY actress Emma Myers showed she is a Radio 1 superfan and was spotted hanging out backstage.
Presenter Greg James bought her out on stage to introduce Nothing But Thieves.
My mole told me: “Emma is a massive fan of the band and a close personal friend, so they asked her to come out on stage and introduce them. She is so down to earth and lovely. Everyone was obsessed with her.”
Emma said on stage: “I’m having so much fun, I’m seeing so many incredible artists, it’s so lovely to be here.”
Of Nothing But Thieves, she added: “They were my soundtrack when I was shooting season one of The Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, so I have them on repeat.”
NIALL LOVES A TEE PARTY
Niall Horan has revealed he only tours so he can play golf courses around the worldCredit: Alamy
NIALL HORAN has revealed he only tours so he can play golf courses around the world.
And he ends up spending more time on makeshift greens than in the studio when writing albums.
The former One Direction singer was on stage at the Big Weekend yesterday in Herrington Country Park, right next to Wearside Golf Club.
Niall, who has a handicap of eight, said: “It’s Niall’s golf tour with music, especially in the States.
“Florida is great – there’s so much good golf in Florida, and we’ll hit random places in Ohio. If we do 30-something shows, I’ll try and get in ten rounds.”
And it doesn’t stop there.
Talking about a place he rented out with songwriter pals to work on his upcoming fourth solo album, Niall said: “When we stayed in this house in the countryside in the UK, we made up our own golf course.
“We put flowerpots in places and made our own courses and chipped balls around.
“We did this all over the world. We make up our own little golf courses in the backyard of wherever we’re playing and we do more of that than we do songwriting.
“On that trip, we wrote Dinner Party – but after a round of golf, of course.”
Now Niall’s eyeing up something entirely different.
When asked on the And The Writer Is podcast if he would pen a musical, he said: “I’d love to. I’ve often thought about that.
“That would be such a cool thing, to put some time aside to actually dig in for six months to try and write something. But I haven’t had the offer yet.”
VICKY: A FAT LOT OF GOOD

DJ VICKY HAWKESWORTH managed to catch some performances between her own sets at Big Weekend.
She said backstage: “Nothing But Thieves were amazing and Fatboy Slim was so good . . . way better than I thought.
“Not that I thought he wouldn’t be good, but you know what I mean.
“Also, those visuals. If I was off my nut, I’d be, like, ‘I’m not well’.”
Luckily for Vicky, she was as sober as a judge.
MY one to watch from the festival is rising talent Alessi Rose.
The Skin singer smashed her set on the New Music stage and will play a run of shows at festivals this summer, as well as supporting Lewis Capaldi and Lorde at their concerts in July and August.

MYLES SMITH had Sunderland belting out every word as he smashed his 30-minute set – complete with support from his Drive Safe collaborator Niall Horan.
Sprinting up and down the stage, the soulful singer powered through nine tracks yesterday, including a cover of iloveitiloveitiloveit by his friend Bella Kay.
Speaking about the US singer-songwriter, Myles told the crowd: “This is someone that I’ve been following for a little while now.
“They can’t be here this Big Weekend, but I’m sure they’re gonna be here for many more, so hopefully you can enjoy this song with me.”
His energy was off the charts as he worked his way through hits including Behind, Hold Me In The Dark and Nice To Meet You.
Myles jumped off the stage and into the pit to hug fans before singing Gold.
Out of puff as he climbed back up, he said with a laugh: “I need to go back to the gym.”
Myles finished off his belting show with the stellar Stargazing.
Fans are now counting down the days until he releases his new album My Mess, My Heart, My Life on June 19.

That’s alongside her fashion collaboration with River Island, her TV and radio work and her popular podcast, Olivia’s House.
“When I’m doing television and radio, people ask, ‘Why a podcast?’. The podcast is a connection with my audience that’s so direct.
“I also wanted it to aesthetically represent the vibe that I feel like it reflects me and my style more.”
She also added to Mail Online in March after her ITV series Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection were picked up by Disney+: “Love Island is huge in America, the UK one so I feel really lucky there was already quite a large US audience on my Instagram, they are definitely happy to have the shows available, also in Australia as well.

One of the capital’s most whimsical venues, overlooking the city skyline, is back for the summer season.
Roof East has transformed the top of a Stratford car park into a full-blown rooftop playground for adults with a line-up of games, food, drinks and entertainment.
The venue has built a reputation as an “urban playground”, with visitors able to take part in everything from crazy golf and batting cages to archery, ping pong and lawn bowls.
This year’s relaunch sees the return of fan-favourites including mini-golf, competitive group games and interactive outdoor challenges, alongside themed nights and live entertainment.
Foodies are also catered for with a rotating line-up of street food traders, while the bar serves cocktails, beers and frozen drinks perfect for sunny evenings.
Bottomless brunches are also back on the menu, giving groups the chance to pair food, drinks and games in one all-day experience.
The site also features an open-air cinema, where guests can settle into deckchairs and watch cult films and new releases under the stars.
Prices forthe gamesvary with crazy golf starting at £10 while the batting cages cost upwards of £25.
Visitors are advised to book activities in advance to guarantee a spot, although there are still plenty of free games and attractions to enjoy without a reservation.
Roof East will stay open for the entire summer season until September 27, 2026.

Eternal’s Louise is gearing up to go back on the roadBritish pop group Eternal consisted of Vernie, Kelly, Easther & LouiseCredit: Andrew Styczynski – The Sun
And in an exclusive interview to celebrate the announcement, ex-Eternal star Louise says she’s never felt so inspired after her last album Confessions became her fourth top ten record.
“I’m so proud of that album,” Louise tells me.
“That’s really what spurred me on to carry on writing.
“It taught me that it’s OK not to please everybody.
“I’m enjoying the creative process of not worrying about if people might hate on it.
“Knowing that you just can’t please everyone.
“It’s all about the mindset and the confidence.
“I do think that comes with age as well.”
After saying yes to going back on the road, Louise reveals she’s learned the power of saying no — and was inspired by pop royalty Madonna.
“I am a big fan, I loved the show she did with Sabrina Carpenter. As a woman, for me, it’s about celebrating people and their achievements,” Louise says.
“I hated reading anything negative about that because for me, she is a genius. I’m at that stage where I’m trying to embrace everything and go with it, but I am also saying no.
“I just wrote a song about saying no and I love it.
Louise reveals she’s learned the power of saying no — and was inspired by pop royalty MadonnaCredit: Rafael PavarottiLouise is a big fan of MadgeCredit: Instagram
“The basis of the song is when you finally learn to say, ‘That’s not for me.’
“We all live in a world where we don’t want to say no to anything for a multitude of reasons.”
The tour, which kids off in Sunderland on April 8 next year, will see Louise picking her favourite tracks from her debut album Naked — which turns 30 in 2027 — and from Confessions for the set list.
And Louise — who will play The Mighty Hoopla festival in London next weekend — has promised to throw in some brand new tunes too.
Louise, who has scored nine Top Ten solo singles including 2 Faced and Pandora’s Kiss, adds: “I get that people will want the hits. It’s about celebrating Naked and Confessions — but I definitely will do new stuff on the tour.
“I don’t want to play it particularly safe.
“The one thing I have learned in this industry is that you have to keep changing.
“You have to keep finding new ways to motivate yourself. Whether that be music, what you’re wearing, the lyrics you’re writing.
“Now I know the lane that I’m in and I know what I want to do.”
Girls single minded

THEY have been together for over a decade, represented the UK at Eurovision and performed at Wembley Stadium.
Now, British girl group Remember Monday have given Bizarre’s Howell the exclusive that they’ve just completed work on their debut album in Prague – and have today dropped the first single, Delusional.
The trio, made up of Lauren Byrne, Charlotte Steele and Holly-Anne Hull first started work on the track two years ago, but only finished it last summer with the help of McFly’s Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter, after being introduced to them at the Capital Summertime Ball.
Lauren, who posed with her bandmates for the single artwork, said: “It feels like it was the first song that started the whole new era.
“After that session, it was like, this is the kind of music that we want to be working on now.”
Holly continued: “We just wanted to kind of hone in on our sound, really solidify what we want to say moving forward.
“I don’t know if we can say, but . . . well, we’re releasing an album.
“The sound that we’re going down is quite nostalgic. Like, we really love the Nineties rom-com energy of music.”
The group will support McFly on tour this summer.
They admit their path is not always easy given that they are independent artists without the financial backing of a major record label.
Referencing the title of their single, Charlotte said: “Our whole band is run and fuelled by delusion.”
Lauren added: “It’s weird to be around. But we do just talk about things as if they are happening regardless of whether we have the funds or contacts. We just speak it into existence.
“And it actually has worked. I don’t even know how we’ve got to this stage.”
It’s working so far ladies.
Good for you.
Too pretty for this ditty
Linda Perry wrote song Beautiful for Christina AguileraCredit: Splash
SONGWRITER Linda Perry has revealed she almost turned down Christina Aguilera’s request for her song Beautiful after admitting she thought she was too pretty to sing it.
Linda wrote the track which ended up being one of Christina’s most enduring songs from her 2002 album Stripped.
Appearing on the Zach Sang Show, Linda said she played American star Christina, pictured at the Abbey’s 35th anniversary party in Hollywood, the track and explained: “She was like, ‘ I want that.’
“And I’m thinking, ‘No, you’re like, a hot chick. I’m not giving you this song. No way. Are you kidding me?”
It was only after Christina sang the track for Linda that she changed her mind, adding: “It broke the ice between the both of us when I saw that.
“That’s when I discovered beautiful people are actually insecure and just as damaged as I am.”

THE SPICE GIRLS might fancy zig-a-zig-ah-ing their way into a Las Vegas residency, but I’m told bosses at the Sphere aren’t interested in a quick nostalgia cash-in.
My Sphere insider said: “The Spice Girls would be a massive draw, but this couldn’t be done as a one-off or a short residency.
“The costs involved in creating a Sphere show are enormous. There’s special cameras, bespoke visuals and millions of dollars in production costs before a ticket is sold.
“They’d need all five on board and would want 40 to 60 shows.”
Last month Posh Spice teased that she was keen for the shows to go ahead, saying: “How good would the Spice Girls be at the Sphere? I love the idea of it.”
The venue, which has mind-blowing wraparound screens, has already hosted U2, The Eagles and No Doubt.

Ex-One Direction singer Louis admitted he’s not keen on teaming up with artists for the sake of it, but working with the rock wild man would feel different.
Louis explained: “I really like his music and he’s from Doncaster, my hometown, I think that would make it even more interesting.”
But he joked that their might be a slight age gap issue.
Louis laughed: “I’d be the senior one in that conversation.”

Named Piccadilly Hall, the boozer will take its name from the historic 17th century Piccadilly Hall mansion, which once occupied part of the Trocadero site and gave Piccadilly Circus its name.
Inside, the pub will be inspired by the history of the Trocadero and surrounding theatre district, but an opening date is yet to be announced.
One feature will include a glass hanger, with a detailing that references the piccadill collar, which was created in the area and led to the name ‘Piccadilly’.
It is also set to be one of the largest Wetherspoons in central London, spanning 334.5-square-metres.
It will be open seven days a week, from 7am to midnight and of course serve all you’d expect from a Spoons, including full English breakfasts and cheap pints.
Details inside relate to the history of the areaCredit: JD Wetherspoon
The Trocadero originally opened in 1896 as a restaurant and then in the 1990s, it became the home of SegaWorld – an indoor theme park, thought to be the world’s largest, spread across seven floors.
Already in the Trocadero building is Zedwell Hotel Piccadilly Circus and the new Wetherspoons will be located directly underneath the hotel, with direct access between the two.
Those staying at the hotel will be able to join the Zedwell & More guest membership programme, which allows guests to get exclusive discounts and offers across shops, restaurants and tourist experiences across London.
Tim Martin, Founder and Chairman at JD Wetherspoon, said: “The West End is one of the world’s great hospitality destinations, attracting millions of visitors each year, and we believe this site is exceptionally well suited to the Wetherspoon model of offering good-quality food and drink at reasonable prices in well-managed and historically interesting buildings.
“The scale of Piccadilly Hall, together with its connection to the wider Zedwell hotel network, makes this one of the most significant openings for Wetherspoon in London for many years.”
Welcome back to The Times’ Lakers newsletter, where we’re not in Cancun just yet.
I fortunately have gotten some much-needed sleep during the week since the Lakers were eliminated, but NBA news never rests, especially during this pivotal offseason that could reshape the entire roster.
With almost half of the roster spots in flux, we’ll start with one player who we know will be back next season.
All things Lakers, all the time.

Luka Doncic fourth in MVP voting
He led the league in scoring but Luka Doncic finished a distant fourth in the most valuable player voting, which was announced Sunday before Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
While Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won his second consecutive MVP in a landslide, Doncic didn’t receive a first-place vote. Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 939 total points and 83 first-place votes. Nikola Jokic was second (634 total points, 10 first-place votes) and Victor Wembanyama was third (569 points, five first-place votes). Doncic, who had 250 total points, only had one second-place vote, and even fifth-place finisher Cade Cunningham had two first-place votes that contributed to his 117-point total.
A global media panel of 100 voters selected the winner of the 2025-26 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award.
This MVP discussion was one of the most competitive in recent memory. A fourth-place finish, especially without a single first-place nod, doesn’t quite do justice to how productive Doncic’s season was. He averaged 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Despite playing without Doncic for the last month, the Lakers maintained a top-four seed in the competitive Western Conference and won 50 games for the second consecutive year. It was just the fourth time in the last 20 years that the league’s scoring champion didn’t receive a first-place MVP vote.
Some of the MVP race comes down to campaigning. Wembanyama, along with stellar play, repeatedly made his case during interviews. Doncic brushed off any chances to do the same.
Doncic preferred to let his play speak, but the message didn’t quite get through. During one of the most magical Marches in league history, Doncic dropped from second in NBA.com’s MVP ladder to fourth.
The season-ending hamstring injury on April 2 didn’t give him a chance to restate his case.
The more disappointing effect of the injury was that Doncic was not close to returning in time for the postseason, where he watched from the sideline as the Lakers got swept by the Thunder.
“It’s very frustrating,” Doncic said last week in his exit interview immediately after the season-ending loss. “I know some people wanted me back, but obviously I wasn’t close to clearing. … If I could be out there, I would be, 100%. Everybody in that room knows that. But it was very tough. Like I said, this is the best time to play basketball. I was sad not to be able to help my team.”
Doncic said he will not play for the Slovenian national team this summer while he prioritizes time with his daughters and recovering. His second daughter Olivia was born in December, and Doncic, who missed two games to be present for the birth, quietly managed a custody battle during the season after he and his former fiancee split.
The last 15 months have been tumultuous for Doncic, but he grew as a leader for the Lakers, coach JJ Redick said, specifically in his dedication to building off-court relationships with teammates after the shocking trade that brought him to L.A. left him in a daze for months.
“I don’t think we got the best version of Luka, the person, [last year],” Redick said. “He was great, but he was phenomenal this year as a teammate and a leader. And obviously, as a player, the guy had a tier one season relative to the rest of the league.”
Still first in the Lakers’ hearts
Will Marcus Smart and Deandre Ayton be back with the Lakers next season?
(Kenneth Richmond / Getty Images)
Doncic took his role as a leader so seriously last season that it started during free agency when he placed recruiting calls to Marcus Smart and Deandre Ayton. With both players facing player options to return, Doncic didn’t commit to trying to woo anyone back.
“We’ll see,” Doncic said. “Can’t tell you nothing.”
Most of the Lakers’ roster could change next season, but Doncic is still at the center of every decision. General manager Rob Pelinka said it’s an “ongoing collaborative process” with Doncic regarding any offseason moves.
Pelinka said the roster will be “retrofitted” around Doncic. It wasn’t that long ago that a superstar still in his prime fell in the franchise’s lap, which shook up every existing blueprint. The new archetype are three-and-D players and rim-running centers.
Ayton was supposed to be a solution at center when he signed last year. When asked how he is approaching his player option, Ayton said after the season-ending game that he hadn’t made a decision yet, but that he had enjoyed his time with the organization thus far.
“It’s purple and gold, that’s about it,” said Ayton, who was the No. 1 pick in the same draft in which Doncic went third. “Just being honored and happy to be on this platform. And another chance, and all of that. There’s great players I learned [from] here.”
Ayton flashed his potential. He was a force during the first-round playoff win over Houston. The Lakers needed him in that series and he delivered. But he also acknowledged that it was “a very humbling experience” being on a team that did not need him to score, instead asking him to primarily rebound and defend the rim with consistency.
Considering that Ayton is coming off career-lows in points (12.5), rebounds (eight) and minutes (27.2) per game, it might be hard for him to command a better salary than the $8.1-million option he has on the table.
Smart can opt into $5.4 million. The 32-year-old could decline the player option with hopes of securing a long-term contract, whether with the Lakers or elsewhere, after he proved he could still be an effective defensive spark plug and offensive shot-maker. Had a late-season right ankle injury not lingered so long, Smart, who played only 62 regular-season games, could have been in the conversation for an all-defensive team nod.
The Lakers need strong defensive players around Doncic and Austin Reaves if the duo reunite as the team’s backcourt of the future. The chemistry on and off the court between the guards was one of the highlights of the season and a reason to be hopeful that it could work in the future.
Doncic called playing with Reaves and LeBron James “an unbelievable experience.” Pelinka said at his end-of-season news conference that Reaves has expressed interest in returning to the Lakers. James’ future is more uncertain: Pelinka said the team will give James space to decide on his own, although he “would love” to have the NBA’s all-time leading scorer back.
Favorite thing I ate this week
Pho with rare beef and beef balls from Pho Show in Culver City.
(Thuc Nhi Nguyen / Los Angeles Times)
I was playing hurt the last few days of the season. I sniffled, sneezed and hand-sanitized my way through Game 4 and the end-of-season news conference with Pelinka and Redick then scooped up the ultimate sick day dinner: pho.
The pho tai bo vien (rare beef and beef ball pho) from Culver City’s Pho Show didn’t heal me completely, but it sure helped. I basically slept for three straight days after the Lakers’ season ended. Now between the remaining playoff games across the league, I’ll be catching up on TV shows, reuniting with the friends I neglected for months and enjoying my rent.
Have you ever wondered what the inside of one of the most expensive hotel penthouses looks like? For a whopping £75,500 a night, it might leave your eyes watering
Could this be one of the most lavish hotel rooms in the world?(Image: Royal Mansion at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai)
We all like a bit of luxury every now and then, but for a staggering £75,500 a night for a hotel suite, that’s something else entirely.
For that sum of money, you’d expect your own butler, sprawling swimming pool, private entrance, and some of the best views across Dubai – and that’s exactly what those forking out for a lavish stay at the Royal Mansion at Atlantis The Royal get. The price tag makes a little more sense considering a literal mansion in one of the world’s premier luxury capitals.
Dubai is renowned for its selection of opulent hotels and resorts, but the five-star Atlantis The Royal is one of the city’s most famous and luxurious beach resorts. Frequently named one of the best hotels in the world, it sits on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah, boasting a whopping 795 rooms, 17 restaurants, and 90 swimming pools, with its striking structure of six towers linked by an intricate design.
For those who want to ‘live like royalty’ during a stay at Atlantis The Royal, the Royal Mansion is one of its signature penthouses, priced at around £75,500 (Dhs370,000 or $100,000) per night. Dubbed the ‘crown jewel’ of the resort, it spans 1,128 square metres across two levels, forming a penthouse that connects to both sides of the iconic hotel.
There’s a private foyer, complete with glass olive trees and sky-high ceilings, and four bedrooms that can sleep up to ten adults and one child, with three king beds and two queen beds. One of its most incredible features is the 476-square-metre terrace with an infinity pool, offering panoramic views across the Palm Jumeirah and the Dubai Skyline from a secluded, and very lavish retreat.
In addition, the penthouse features an outdoor kitchen, bar area, entertainment room, a library, a huge dining room table, both indoors and outdoors, a living area, a family room, a steam room and sprawling bedrooms with en-suites that are easily the size of a flat in London. The interiors are just as sumptuous and bespoke as you would imagine, with every corner designed to ooze indulgence.
As Atlantis The Royal states, “Every detail in the Royal Mansion will make you feel like royalty”. And there’s more.
Guests forking out for a stay in the mansion will also be given the five-star treatment. This includes in-room check-in, 24-hour dedicated butler service, 24-hour room service, a private in-suite lift, a private entrance, and privacy glass.
They can also lap up the benefits of an exclusive in-room celebrity chef dining, complimentary return airport transfers, complimentary minibar and complimentary breakfast, with the option of Gastronomy, in-room dining, or a floating breakfast. If that wasn’t enough, they also have daily access to the resorts’ AWAKEN Elements Retreat and exclusive “premium seating” at Aquaventure World, along with daily fast passes.
That’s just some of the additional benefits of booking the sprawling penthouse, which undoubtedly only welcomes the ultra-wealthy who can justify splashing out on what is twice the average annual salary in the UK for a hotel night away.

NEW rules being rolled out this summer will make it much easier for families with young kids to get through the airport.
Airport eGates will be lowering the age of passengers who can use them from 12 to eight.

Confirmed by the Home Office, kids will need to be at least 120cm (3ft11) to be able to use them, as they require them to be able to see the biometric screens.
Currently, only families with kids aged 10 and over can use them – any younger and they have to go in the standard (usually much longer) queue.
It is expected to help as many as an extra 1.5million children use the eGates.
This will affect 13 airports across the UK that currently use eGates. These are:
The new rules will also affect a number of non-British residents including those from the US, Australia and Japan, along with non-Schengen countries in Europe.
Chief executive of AirportsUK Karen Dee said she welcomed the change, saying: “It will give more families the ability to take advantage of this technology, speeding up the border process and reducing waiting times for many.”
“Airports work very hard with border authorities to ensure the UK’s front door is both secure and welcoming, with those coming home and visiting enjoying a smooth experience.”
Brits are currently facing problems travelling via Europe, however, as new EES rules are resulting in massive queues, some even missing their flights.

It cost an estimated £11million which was paid for by donations and National Lottery funding.
After 14 years, it was finally completed in 2024 and now, it is one of six winners in the South East division of the 2026 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Awards.
The prestigious architecture award celebrates design innovation and social impact of buildings around the country.

Explaining on TikTok, Leigh said: “I went into the crowd and someone was overcome with joy, so that was a nice feeling, and she went ‘I love you’ and put her hands towards my face and her thumbnail, which was quite long, did that.”
He then showed a raw red scratch that ran across his temple and stopped very close to his eye.
Leigh added: “Could’ve been worse, could’ve gone in my eye but yeah bit of a naughty one that, innit?”
His followers were shocked by the scratch, with one writing: “Omg Leigh that’s awful.”
A third wrote: “Blimey! Close one, cool shirt! Heal fast mate.”
In a follow up video, Keith adopted his alter-ego Avid Merrion and said the injury made him look like a “sexy action hero” but warned people from getting too drunk.
The event, which celebrated all things music and food, featured other star DJs Sister Bliss, Denise Van Outen and Laura Whitmore.
Last autumn, Leigh told fans he didn’t know when he’d return to TV after Through The Keyhole and Celebrity Juice were put on ice.
“I haven’t pitched any ideas for TV shows in ages,” he said.
“If I do and someone likes it then I’ll be back but if I don’t, I won’t.”
He continued: “It’s gone mad, you can’t make anything without it upsetting people. If you think you’re gonna be offended you shouldn’t watch but I can’t be bothered to get into this deep conversation.”

They then ended up having two girls, so they always had one special boy name in mind for if they ever had a baby boy.
“This was the ONLY name we ever loved,” Imogen shared.
But it was the meaning behind the middle name ‘boy’ that has left people in tears.
Imogen wrote: “When my dad was born he unfortunately had a very difficult childhood and was eventually given up for foster care.
“His parents never actually named him on his birth certificate so he was given the default name of Boy.”
She continued: “Giving our son the middle name Boy is our way of honouring my dad and the love that he gave us after so much hardship.
“We wanted to give meaning to a name that didn’t have any meaning to start with, and it’s a reminder that even the hardest beginnings can lead to something deeply beautiful.”
Imogen has been flooded with messages of congratulations from her fans, as one wrote: “Now we’re crying,” while a second penned: “The thought that has gone into picking names for your children is absolutely beautiful.”
And a third wrote: “The story behind the middle name is one of the most thoughtful things I’ve ever heard.
“To see your dad be a fantastic parent and only now know what a horrendous start in life he had fills me with so much admiration. I honestly have never heard a more perfect name for a perfect reason.”
The Brighton mum recently opened up to friend and fellow parent content creator, Caroline Parker on her podcast Don’t Touch It, about managing her busy life.
The podcast host and mum-of-three Caroline said to her: “Spencer is a stay-at-home dad, and I love that.”
Imogen, who boats over 300,000 Instagram followers, said: “I’m glad you said that, because you know what’s really funny, just quickly, I don’t get it anymore I don’t think, but for a long time I got ‘poor Spencer’.”
“Lucky Spencer,” insisted Caroline.
Imogen added: “Yes, I’m also thinking in my head he’s not forced here.
“He’s not held against his own will.
“He will live a very privileged life – we know how fortunate we are, but also they [trolls] wouldn’t say that if I was doing the cleaning and the cooking.”
“They wouldn’t say ‘poor Imogen’,” she pointed out.

“I thought I would just show you a couple of bits that I’ve started packing for me.
“Because everything for baby is quite gender obvious and we’ve kind of kept it to ourselves up till I’m basically giving birth so we might as well keep it until the end now.”

“I was planning to post it but we just never did. And then I don’t know, seeing everyone guess has just kind of been funny.”
Two months ago questions were raised as to whether Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky would ever play for the club again.
The Czech Republic international endured a nightmare 17 minutes in their Champions League last-16 match against Atletico Madrid in March which saw him concede three goals before being substituted off by then-manager Igor Tudor.
But after making one of the saves of the season to deny Leeds a late winner on Monday – ensuring Tottenham earned a point towards potential Premier League survival – the 23-year-old may just have gone some way to redeeming himself.
Mathys Tel’s 50th-minute strike had put Spurs ahead but the forward conceded a penalty for a high boot on Ethan Ampadu 24 minutes later and Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted from the spot to level at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Both sides probed for a winner in 13 minutes of added time and Leeds thought they had found it in the 99th minute when James Justin played Sean Longstaff through and the midfielder unleashed a powerful strike at the near post from close range.
Enter Kinsky, who stretched to get fingertips to the ball and ensure it clattered off the crossbar and not into the roof of his net.
It is impossible to say how important that save could be come the end of the season but for now it leaves Spurs two points clear of West Ham in the relegation zone with two games remaining.
“That save is one of the saves of the season,” said former Liverpool defender Jamie Carrager on Sky Sports.
“Football is an absolute rollercoaster and who would have thought he would ever play for Tottenham again – and then he does that.
“You would have to have a heart of stone if you weren’t delighted for him. Everyone thought his career was over but that save can be the moment that keeps Tottenham in the Premier League.”
BRITISH Airways’ multi-million pound superjumbo refit faces certification delays over fears crew cannot safely restrain drunk passengers in its new business class seats.
The airline is in the process of upgrading its Airbus A380 fleet with its latest Club Suite, which comes with a sliding privacy door.

But the makeover could hit delays because of concerns over how staff would deal with an air rage passenger on the upper deck.
BA plans to move a small section economy seats off the top floor and replace them with a larger Club World cabin.
Its passenger restraint kit is understood to be approved for economy and premium economy seats – not the new suite-style business seats.
That could leave crew with a major problem if a passenger became violent or disruptive upstairs.
Sources said hauling a violent passenger down the A380’s narrow staircases could put crew and other passengers at risk.
The first aircraft are currently being worked on in Manila, Philippines, as part of the refurbishment programme.
Industry sources have also suggested there may be certification concerns over the weight of the new business seats, which include motors and sliding doors.
Extra weight on the upper deck could affect the plane’s payload limits.
However, any delay may also be linked to wider supply chain issues affecting premium aircraft seats across the industry.
British Airways said the A380 refit programme remains on schedule for 2026.
PROPOSALS for a new £600million UK theme park have been backed by the British Tourist Authority (BTA).

French firm Puy du Fou submitted plans to build a site north of Bicester near the M40.
In the supporting letter, BTA director Andrew Stokes, praised the ride-free park’s established track record in France and Spain, saying it offers a “truly distinctive visitor experience through its historic theme park concept”.
He also commended the park’s collaborative approach in working with Experience Oxfordshire to create a fully authentic experience.
BTA said it “can see the potential for this project to generate significant interest and excitement among domestic and international visitors alike”.

Stokes added that the plans “demonstrate confidence in the UK as a destination, in our leisure sector, and in the long-term strength of the visitor economy”.
The site will include four period villages with 13 live shows and have also been backed by Experience Oxfordshire.
Support chief executive Hayley Beer-Gamage said: “The decision by Puy du Fou to invest in Oxfordshire, and specifically within the Cherwell district, is a strong endorsement of the area as a globally recognised destination.
“This investment will drive job creation, stimulate economic growth, and increase visitor spend across both the district and the wider county.”
According to the park operator, the site will directly employ around 2,000 people, while supporting a further 6,000 jobs in hotels, restaurants, suppliers, and other local businesses.
Puy du Fou also said it will deliver a £500million annual boost to the local and regional economy.
In a report published earlier this year, BTA broke down the long-term economic benefits for Oxfordshire and the Cherwell district.
“Tourism has a significantly positive regional economic impact across the UK”, Stokes said.

In legal paperwork obtained by The Sun, Dua’s attorneys say she owns the copyright to the photo — taken backstage at a 2024 festival.
She claims it appeared on a “significant portion” of the tellies sold in the US — and her fans even flocked to buy them in the belief she had endorsed them.
The filing, made in the Central District of California Federal Court, reveals that Grammy- winner Dua is demanding a minimum $15million (£11million) in damages — but a jury could decide to award far more.
South Korean firm Samsung is said to have ignored several legal warnings from her team.
Her lawyer Christine Lepera wrote: “Samsung used a copyrighted image of Ms. Lipa without authority or licence and prominently featured it on the front of boxes containing Samsung-manufactured televisions for retail sale.”
She added “The substantial revenue made on the sale is inextricably tied to the false message conveyed to consumers that Ms. Lipa has endorsed the Infringing Products when she has not.”
One fan is said to have put a photo of the box online with the caption: “I wasn’t even planning on buying a TV, but I saw the box so I decided to get it.”
Another in Miami who spotted it in a store wrote on Instagram: “I’d get that TV just because Dua is on it. That’s how obsessed I am.”

A third said: “I’ve always said if you need anything selling, just put a picture of Dua Lipa on it.”
Ms Lepera added that Dua would not have agreed a Samsung deal anyway as she is “highly selective in her commercial partnerships”.
She has signed a number of advertising deals to take her net worth in excess of £100million.
Dua is the face of Nespresso, alongside George Clooney, and also the frontwoman for Yves Saint-Laurent’s beauty products.
In 2023, she signed a seven- figure package to become the face of sports car brand Porsche, and she is in a multi-year partnership with sportswear giant Puma.
Samsung had yet to file a defence to the court. Both Samsung and Dua Lipa’s legal firm, MSK, were asked to comment.

“I always think it’s wild when artists talk about the fans that lined their pockets like this. I thought better of Oli,” wrote one person in the comment section of the TikTok.
Another added: “Oli my brother in Christ the last bus / train home is like 10:45 we have to leave early or we’re sleeping on the street.”
But a third commented: “I’ll never understand why people leave early. I’ve done it a couple of times and have regretted it every time.”
While a fourth posted: “He said this in toronto too, i felt bad but he’s gotta take it up with go transit 😭 if i miss my train i’m stranded in the city, i don’t have money or a credit card to get a hotel for the night.”

Bring Me The Horizon formed in 2004 and have released six studio albums.
They have been nominated for two Grammys and this year won a Brit for Best Rock/Alternative Act. They’ve also scooped seven Kerrang! gongs in a career that dates back 20 years.
There was no greater sign of a mainstream breakthrough than when they collaborated with Ed Sheeran for a souped-up version of his hit Bad Habits at the Brit Awards in 2022.
Adding rocky riffs and synths to the catchy pop tune, the heavier element clearly thrilled Ed who performed the collab with a big grin.
Last year, Oli officialy became a dad after his Brazilian model wife Victoria Alissa Salles Silva announced she had given birth to twins.
In an Instagram post, she shared an image of the tots – writing, “amor infinito,” which translates to “infinite love”, adding, “grey & zélia.”
He’s made more programmes in the last decade than at any point before, and despite reaching the age of 100, David is showing no signs of slowing down
Sir David will narrate the BBC’s next big natural history series for the autumn, Blue Planet III(Image: BBC)
Sir David Attenborough will narrate Blue Planet III when it hits the screen on BBC1 this autumn. The veteran broadcaster, who celebrates his 100th birthday today, has already recorded his voice-over for the six-part series, which is returning for a third outing 25 years after the first one aired.
This time around, it aims to take the Blue Planet brand “to extraordinary new depths”. In 2001, it was the first ever natural history series to take a deep dive into the state of the world’s oceans, attracting huge audiences across the globe.
In 2017, the Blue Planet II sequel galvanised a huge campaign to rid the sea of single use plastic, with Sir David even taking to the stage at the Glastonbury Festival to hammer home the point.
Where Blue Planet II exposed the threats to the world’s oceans, Blue Planet III aims to explore stories of adaptation and resilience, showing both hope and recovery. The first five episodes will focus on the planet’s five key underwater habitats: Tropical Seas; Open Ocean; Seasonal Seas; Polar Waters; and The Deep. As is now traditional, the sixth and final episode, Future Seas, will turn to the issue of conservation and examine what further changes must be made.
Jonny Keeling, head of BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit, said they were thrilled to have the world-famous naturalist take the lead on the latest landmark programme to address the issue of our oceans.
“We are so excited to have David narrate this new blockbuster series,” he said. “It’s full of never-before-seen animal behaviour, new locations, new science, and heartfelt storytelling. David is the perfect voice to inspire audiences across the globe to love, understand and protect the oceans.”
BBC specialist factual boss Jack Bootle, added: “I’m thrilled that David is taking the helm of Blue Planet once again. His extraordinary talent for storytelling has shaped the way generations of audiences understand and connect with the natural world, and his voice remains synonymous with the very best of the BBC’s natural history output. I’m absolutely delighted that he’ll be once more bringing his unique skill and authority to Blue Planet III. ”
Expert oceanographer Dr Phillip Sexton, who is an academic consultant on the upcoming series, said that this third run would build on the ground-breaking legacy of the last two, and “offer rays of hope” when it comes to further saving the planet.
“Blue Planet II catapulted issues surrounding our oceans’ health into the public consciousness and demonstrably changed people’s attitudes and behaviour with regard to our oceans,” Dr Sexton explained. “Underpinned by breakthroughs in marine science and cutting-edge technology, this new series will transform our view of what is possible for life on Earth and offer rays of hope for us to conserve the ecological wonders that lie beneath the waves.”
The series will make new breakthroughs in underwater film-making thanks to a “whole new generation” of camera technology, to reveal brand new and previously untold stories. It will build on the legacy of the previous two series to reveal brand new and untold stories from magical underwater worlds using new technology including splash drones and long-term remote underwater cameras.
Blue Planet III was announced by Liz Bonnin and Steve Backshall at an event held at the Royal Albert Hall last night to mark Sir David’s milestone birthday. The glittering show included music from the BBC Concert Orchestra and many clips showing iconic moments from his programmes over the decades.
Tributes were paid by both King Charles and Prince William, and he was also sent a heartfelt message from Felix Ndagijimana at the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Karisoke research centre in Rwanda, giving an update on how they all are doing since his visit there fifty years ago.
Celebrities paying tribute and sending birthday wishes on the night included Chris Packham, Michael Palin, Dame Judi Dench, Chris Martin, Hamza Yassin, Kate Winslet and even Paddington Bear. They were joined by more celebrities interested in conservation work, including Leonardo di Caprio, Cate Blanchett, Nile Rodgers, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Theroux, Camila Cabello and Alan Titchmarsh.
After many musical performances from the likes of Bastille, Icelandic band Sigur Rós and Sienna Spiro – performing music that has been used in series including Planet Earth – the evening closed with a clip of the presenter in action as Sir David recorded his narration to Blue Planet III, followed by him reading the lyrics from the song What a Wonderful World, accompanied by stunning wildlife footage.
