Gogglebox‘s Dave and Shirley Griffiths left fans swooning when they shared a rare post about their 50-year-old son
Gogglebox favourites Dave and Shirley Griffiths have left fans floored after sharing a post about their rarely-seen son.
The beloved Welsh couple first joined the long-running Channel 4 programme back in 2015 – and it didn’t take them long to become firm favourites with viewers at home.
Over the years, from their Caerphilly home Dave and Shirley have had fans in stitches thanks to their hilarious one-liners and thoughts on the latest bits of telly.
However, unlike their co-stars, the couple – who have been married for 50 years – have never been joined by any of their other relatives.
Apart from their beloved dog, Dave and Shirley have opted to keep their family members away from the spotlight – including their two children, daughter Gemma and son, Simon.
However, on Sunday (November 30), the pair took to their Instagram to tell their 208k followers some exciting news about Simon.
Taking to their social media account, Dave and Shirley shared a video of their son Simon working out. In the clip, Simon could be seen taking part in a gruelling workout, including push-ups.
They captioned the post: “Our 50-year-old son Simon going for it fit as a butcher’s dog.” Fans soon rushed to the comments section to swoon over Dave and Shirley’s son.
One person gushed: “As good looking as his dad.” Another added: “50!!???” A third smitten fan chimed in: “Thought it was u Dave my goodness his really fit.” Someone else also declared: “Extremely impressive.”
Dave and Shirley’s son previously sent their fans into meltdown back in June 224, when his parents shared a photo of him posing topless in shorts while on holiday abroad.
Viewers at the time commented: “Oh my. Just woke up to this wonderful image.” Someone else declared: “Handsome young lad!” A third chimed in: “Wow he’s proper fit!”
Much to the delight of fans, Dave and Shirley have returned for the new Gogglebox series – that started earlier this year. However, it is looking a little different, as it was announced in July that beloved stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle would not be returning.
The couple became a part of Gogglebox history as the first Scottish pair to join the programme in February 2022. Announcing their departure from the Channel 4 show, Roisin took to TikTok to share the unfortunate update.
