EastEnders’ Jasmine’s self-defence proof is found – but Kat still thinks she’s guilty

The Slaters have finally seen the video that proves Jasmine killed Anthony in self-defence, but Kat isn’t so convinced that the teen is innocent, despite what Zoe says

Finally, Jasmine Fisher‘s video evidence that killing her biological father Anthony Trueman was an act of self-defence has come to light. After watching the video during Thursday’s episode of EastEnders (26 March), Zoe Slater rejoiced that her daughter would soon be free. But Kat was less sure of Jasmine’s innocence, even after she saw what really happened.

Jasmine (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) was arrested for murder earlier this year and insisted that she only killed her father because he was going to kill her. She even had a video to prove it, in which Anthony (Nicholas Bailey) could be seen charging at her, but her phone mysteriously went missing as she was cuffed.

Max Branning (Jake Wood) had stolen it, and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) stole it from him. Without the phone, many, including Jasmine’s boyfriend Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) and her grandfather Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), believed her to be a cold-blooded murderer who was lying to save herself from prison. But this week, Cindy brought the phone back to the Slaters, who then watched the video.

While Zoe immediately jumped into action to make sure the video could be used for Jasmine’s defence, and Oscar went to visit Jasmine and apologise for not believing her, Kat (Jessie Wallace) confided in Alfie (Shane Richie) about her doubts. She asked Alfie if Jasmine really had to hit him so hard, and implied she wasn’t sure Jasmine’s response was proportional to how scared she was.

Jasmine later revealed to Oscar that her lawyer was having similar thoughts. She had been told that she would still need to stand trial to prove it was reasonable force.

Some fans weren’t sure why Kat was being so suspicious about her granddaughter. One wrote: “Why is Kat so against Jasmine- like you’ve seen video evidence now honey?”

Another agreed emphatically: “Right, like, what did she expect her to do with a crazy man charging at her but protect herself by any means?” A third asked: “Does Kat not like Jasmine still even after seeing the evidence?”

Elsewhere in the episode, Jasmine’s brother Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughn) learned that his new beau was in fact his twin’s ex. After Oscar went to see Jasmine, the two decided to give their relationship another go, which he later told Josh.

Josh, it seems, had already developed feelings for Oscar, but kept that secret and instead teared up as Oscar told him what Jasmine was like. Fans are split on who they want Oscar to end up with, with some saying he has more “chemistry” with Josh, and others saying he and Jasmine are “fun”.

How much the fans are split has led some to wonder if EastEnders will ask the public to choose who Oscar’s eventual partner is. The show previously held a vote like this so that the public could decide if Denise Fox (Diane Parish) would end up with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) or Jack Branning (Scott Maslen). Ultimately, the public chose Jack.

Emmerdale’s Danny Miller emotional as he makes heartbreaking confession about famous dad

Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle actor Danny Miller has candidly opened up about his father in an emotional update on Good Morning Britain

Emmerdale’s Danny Miller has spoken out about his father amid his dementia battle, revealing he misses him “so much”.

The Aaron Dingle actor has been incredibly open in recent months about his father Vince, who is living with dementia. Vince is a well-known star in the showbiz world as a singer, compere and comedian.

And on Monday (March 23) Danny appeared on Good Morning Britain where he spoke about Vince in an emotional update. He said: “It’s sad, and, you know, me and my dad were thick as thieves at one point, and, you know, losing him over and over again is awful.”

Admitting he misses the man his dad was, Danny added: “I live a couple of hours drive from my dad now, which breaks my heart, but I have my own family.”

He continued: “I’ve got a job up in Yorkshire, on Emmerdale, and being around in Manchester isn’t easy anymore, so I moved my family up there, and it was kind of a really tough thing to do, because I’m not there for my dad as much as I’d like to be. I miss him terribly.

“But you know, the days where I do see him again, I often get, you know, a good visit, and I usually find if I play Matt Monroe – my dad was a comedian, but he’s a singer as well – and Matt Monroe was a friend of his.”

Danny went on: “I played it one day, and he just kind of pointed at it, and he said, 10th of December, 1970, whatever, and I Googled it, and he was right. I think it was either his birthday or when the single was released, and from then on I kind of thought, I’m gonna do that, so I do it as a normal thing. Now I’ll put it on the side and just play and just talk to him normally. I tend to get a better visit.“

Danny then spoke about his Emmerdale co-star Charley Webb, whose mum Helen passed away last week following a 12-year battle with Alzheimer’s. He said: “Charley Webb is a good friend of mine. She was on here [GMB] with you guys not long ago, talking about her mum’s Alzheimer’s, and unfortunately, she passed, and it’s so sad.”

Danny continued: “Charley was a massive inspiration for me to why I spoke out about it. It made me want to talk out, it made me want to be vulnerable, and allow myself to sort of put out an unfiltered video.”

He added: “I wanted to just try and allow people to see me to be someone completely different and be vulnerable and talk about these things in hope that it will sort of resonate with somebody somewhere and they can relate to it and go, actually, I’m going to go out and get a memory test.

“That is the beginning of how to sort of get that diagnosis for dementia and it’s something that, you know, I want to fly the flag for because I don’t want dementia to destroy the families as it’s destroyed ours.”

The GMB host then pointed out how Danny’s father had a very successful career as a compere comedian and “knew lots of influential and important people”.

Danny then went on to reveal what it is like now having a conversation with his father. He shared: “There’s good days and bad days. There was a time last week where I didn’t know if I’d be sat here, because, you know, he’s up and down with his general health anyway, but dementia does always make it feel somewhat worse, and there’s all water infections that, so, your urine infections that suddenly make them more confusing. And then his health declined. He looked, he looked ill.”

When asked if his father is sometimes unaware of who Danny is, the actor replied: “No, that will break my heart. I’m not there yet. We’re not there yet, luckily, but it will break my heart.” Admitting he misses his father “so much”, Danny said: “He used to call me a lot and just ranted and then put the phone down without even saying, how are you? And I’d give anything back to have those conversations.”

Known as the ‘king of comperes’, Danny’s father Vince worked as the VIP host at Manchester United for almost 30 years. He also worked at Old Trafford for 29 years and often interviewed football legend, Sir Alex Ferguson.

No stranger to rubbing shoulders with famous faces throughout his 65-year career, Vince has also worked with Johnny Mathis and Shirley Bassey and even spoke at comedian Bernard Manning’s funeral.

When Vince was 82, he announced that he would be officially retiring from the showbiz and entertainment world. He told Manchester Evening News: “I’ve no upset about it, the time is now to get out while you’re on top, you don’t want people saying ‘not him again’!”

To celebrate his retirement, Danny put together a charity bash in which he paid tribute to his dad, dubbing him the “best in the business”. On stage, Vince said: “I’ve had a great career, I’ve done it all as a presenter, comedian, singer, I’ve been very fortunate. As Edith Piaf said, Je Ne Regrette Rien, no regrets!”

Coronation Street confirms Megan’s fate as dark truths about twisted teacher emerge

Coronation Street’s Megan Walsh was interviewed by police on Thursday’s episode of the world’s longest-running TV soap and things are not looking good for the predatory teacher

Coronation Street aired a series of dark scenes on Thursday night as various truths about Megan Walsh began to emerge.

For months, the teacher, played by Beth Nixon, has been at the heart of a controversial storyline in which she has been carrying out an illicit relationship with her student Will Driscoll.

While all this has been going on, Megan, who was introduced as the teenager’s private athletics coach, has started up a fake relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) although she is pregnant with Will’s baby. Will’s schoolmate Sam, who is in the year below, was the only one to have worked it out but when Megan started threatening him about, he turned to pills to cope and then experienced an overdose. Things were only made worse when Megan became a flatmate of Sam’s stepmum Leanne, worming her way into their lives further.

READ MORE: Is Eva leaving Coronation Street? Fans predict shocking exit for icon in ‘murder’ twistREAD MORE: Coronation Street fans’ ‘blood runs cold’ as bombshell episode leaves them in tears

Once Sam confessed all to Leanne (Jane Danson) the whole situation sent shockwaves around the entire family and Will’s dad Ben (Aaron McCusker) as well as his own stepmum Eva, Leanne’s sister, have tried to take action. The furious family informed the police immediately and as the world’s longest-running TV soap continued, Megan was in a police interview, once again pleading her innocence.

Coming out with the same old story, she said: “He is a teenage boy who has a crush on me. Probably not the first, probably not the last. Believe me, I haven’t done anything wrong. This is every teacher’s worst nightmare. I’m in complete shock, to be honest. Maybe I overstepped by getting too close to them.

“But that doesn’t mean that I’m grooming their son. I… I became a teacher to give something back, not to… I can’t even say it. It makes me feel sick….” Megan and her lawyer Adam Barlow pointed out that there was no evidence as yet, but DC Kit Green revealed that they had some footage of her and Will together in her flat. This was all a result of Sam’s ill-fated attempt to catch them on camera, only for Megan to realise and stage a performance to cover things up.

Kit warned: ” It’s not looking good, is it, Megan? I think the CPS will agree!” Later on, it became apparent that Megan had been released and she returned home only to find Leanne throwing her possessions out of the upstairs window. A furious Leanne yelled: “I’m putting the rubbish out!” But Megan pleaded: “Oh, Leanne, please, I don’t need this after the day I’ve just had. I’ve already been suspended from work.”

Leanne shot back: “Well, if it was to me, I’d suspend you from that lamppost!” She launched a suitcase out the window and Megan was left with no choice but to pack up her belongings after it bust open and its contents spilled out across the cobbles and Leanne slammed the window shut, effectively making her homeless.

That afternoon, Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) and Ben, who had worked out that Megan and Will had spent his sixteenth birthday together in bed at the Chariot Square, raced to the hotel to see if they could get CCTV footage of that date but, conveniently, the footage had been wiped at midnight, owing to an automatic 90-day setting.

It was then that Eva brought up she something she had been holding back – that Megan had supposedly had an abortion some months ago.

But Megan herself never confirmed this, and Leanne had just happened to come across some pregnancy vitamins in a bedside drawer, prompting the distraught family to realise that she could still be expecting. Realising they could be onto something, Eva said: “If she has lied, then all the evidence we need is growing right there in her belly.”

EastEnders ‘confirm’ Max’s mystery bride – and her brutal ‘eye for eye’ revenge plot

In the New Year episode, Max Branning was revealed to be marrying a mystery woman in 2027, and EastEnders fans think the soap has subtly ‘confirmed’ who that bride will be – along with her unorthodox reason for marriage

EastEnders aired the start of a love story in their most recent episode, and fans think this confirms one woman as his bride for 2027, but she won’t be marrying him for love. Instead, she’s out for revenge.

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) has been one of the potential brides since Max Branning‘s (Jake Wood) fifth marriage was first teased. The two had already hooked up whilst unaware of each other’s identities, leading to an explosive punch up at their shared grandson Jimmy’s christening as Cindy realised she’d slept with her son’s killer. But after scenes airing on 19 March, fans are sure this enemies to lovers arc will end with a trip down the aisle.

READ MORE: Deafblind boy, 5, makes EastEnders debut as mum hopes he’ll ‘break down barriers’READ MORE: EastEnders spoiler ‘lets slip’ Jasmine’s fate amid ‘second murder twist’

During Thursday’s episode, Cindy and Max were having a chat in the Prince Albert as she closed up shop. The two quickly started eyeing each other up and Max leaned in for a kiss. When Cindy initially rejected him – on the grounds that he had killed her beloved Steven (Aaron Sidwell) – he apologised for Steven’s death. This was enough for Cindy to give in and start kissing Max, as a jealous Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who was also a teased bride, looked on.

Fans are now more certain than ever that this means Cindy will marry Max, but they’re not convinced that she loves him. Rather, could Cindy be marrying Max as part of a revenge plan?

“If Cindy marries Max, it’s 100% for revenge,” said one fan. “She HATED Max for what happened to Steven and she’s way too smart to fall for Max’s greasy little lines.”

Ensure our latest headlines always appear at the top of your Google Search by making us a Preferred Source. Click here to activate or add us as your Preferred Source in your Google search settings.

They added that the bride mystery might not be the only part of the New Year flashforward that Cindy is part of. The fan predicted that Cindy would be the gunman who will hold Lauren and Oscar Branning (Jacqueline Jossa and Pierre Counihan-Moullier) hostage, forcing their father to pick one to save.

“I reckon, Max is marrying Cindy in 2027, but Linda is getting ready to crash the wedding because she knows Cindy is planning something horrible for Max,” the fan said. “What is that horrible thing? She’s the gunman. An eye for an eye, a child for a child you know?”

Another fan agreed that scenes from tonight’s episode pointed more towards a vengeful Cindy than a loved-up one. “OMG yeah you could be right! That look she gave him when he said he was sorry for Steven’s death wasn’t giving attraction for me, it was giving revenge!”

A third said they hoped this was the case: “Cindy has hated Max with a passion for years and I know they say there’s a thin line between love and hate, but her just falling for his chat yet again just doesn’t add up. I actually hope she’s playing him for some sort of revenge for Steven further down the line.”

Cindy’s hatred of Max dates back to 2017. Then, he manipulated her son into a sweeping revenge plot against the Square, particularly Jane Beale (Laurie Brett), who had let Max go to prison for the murder of Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) even though she knew it was really her young son Bobby (Eliot Carrington).

After setting fire to a restaurant, Steven tried to save Jane, but Max, desperate to stop him, pushed Steven into a countertop. This caused fatal internal injuries, eventually leading to a cardiac arrest and his death.

Coronation Street blaze to destroy iconic set as much-loved character ‘fights for life’

A deadly Coronation Street blaze will reportedly tear through Roy’s Rolls soon, causing the iconic set to burn down with the stunt apparently leaving a beloved character in danger

There could be a shocking blaze on Coronation Street very soon, with a famous part of the set thought to be destroyed.

Reports claim Roy’s Rolls, the iconic café owned by Roy Cropper, will be burned down in a cruel arson attack in upcoming scenes. Not only that but as the blaze spreads, it could leave poor Roy in serious danger.

It’s claimed Roy will be left fighting for his life in the incident. with the building said to be be burnt down. As the battle to save Roy commences, the legend will apparently be rushed to hospital.

But who would want to target Roy or his business, and will Roy be okay? According to sources, Roy will be seen trapped in the blaze in scenes that will air onscreen in April.

READ MORE: Emmerdale Tracy’s secret exposed as Vanessa confronts her ahead of exitREAD MORE: EastEnders ‘reveals’ who will join Mark’s stolen cars scheme – but it’s not Lauren

According to The Sun, it sparks questions about whether Roy was targeted and why the café was set alight. A source told the publication: “Roy’s Rolls is targeted by a mystery fires tarter who breaks in and douses the cafe with petrol whilst Roy sleeps upstairs in his flat.

“When residents spot smoke coming out of the windows, emergency services are called. As the fire rages and people realise Roy is trapped inside the race is on to get him out alive.

“Will Roy be rescued in time, and what about his precious collection of railway memorabilia and memories of Hayley? Is this the end of Roy’s Rolls as we know it, and who wanted to burn down the iconic cafe?”

The Mirror has reached out to an ITV spokesperson for comment. It comes ahead of a murder plot taking place in April that sees one of five villains killed off. Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh, Carl Webster, Theo Silverton and Maggie Driscoll are all at risk.

The death plot will then spark a whodunnit before fans find out who has killed them and why. Some fans already think they have worked out who the killer is and who the victim will be.

It’s left fans fearing a popular character is about to depart the show in the plot. They think Eva Price, who only came back to the show in October last year, could bow out in a killer twist.

With teacher Megan exposed for grooming young student Will for sex, Will’s stepmother Eva Price vowed she would pay for her crimes. Now, fans have wondered if Eva will kill Megan as she takes revenge, but would Eva really turn killer?

Emmerdale fans ‘solve’ Joe Tate’s sick plan for Kim and Lydia as character ‘framed’

Emmerdale fans think they know what Joe Tate has in store for Lydia Dingle and Kim Tate after he appeared to target Lydia over news about Home Farm on the ITV soap

After news about Kim Tate’s will on Emmerdale this week, fans think Joe Tate is plotting something sickening.

He’s seemingly targeting Kim’s friend Lydia Dingle, after he discovered she would get the Home Farm estate if Kim died. Since he found this out he’s been overly nice to Lydia, who saw right thought the “snake’s” behaviour.

But Wednesday’s episode saw him taking things further, as he was determined to make sure Home Farm was his should anything happen to Kim. Graham Foster had worked out his plan, with Joe deciding to open a bank account in Lydia’s name.

Fans immediately feared Joe was trying to set up Lydia in a shocking scheme. They believe Joe is planning on framing Lydia for fraud or money theft to tear apart her friendship with Kim, and have her removed from Kim’s will.

READ MORE: EastEnders fans ‘work out who Jasmine killed before Anthony’READ MORE: Emmerdale fans ‘rumble’ what Tracy’s hiding as past character’s return ‘sealed’

One fan said: “Ffs Joe’s targeting Lydia. Trying to get her written out of the will.” Another agreed: “Bet Joe is going to set Lydia up for stealing from Kim!” as another said: “Nasty Joe going to set Lydia up.”

A fourth fan said: “Something is definitely going to happen to Kim and Lydia is going to get framed for it, making room for Joe to prey and get the house in the will. But all of this could have been started with a single discussion but then she’d know they’re snooping into her private affairs.

“I hope whatever happens, they don’t mess with that friendship.” A further post read: “I think the plan is to make it seem like Lydia is stealing from Kim because Joe has opened an account in her name presumably so they’ll fall out and Kim will change the will.”

A final theory read: “Ohh, I was thinking he’d find a way to steal Lydia’s identity and get her inheritance. I’m sure Kim would see right through Lydia ‘stealing’ from her, especially so soon after the recent events.”

It comes amid some fans feared Kim might die in the plot. With Joe acting like Kim was going to die soon with his fury over Home Farm not being left to him, and the focus on Kim’s will, it left fans wondering if it was a hint.

Some fans thought it was a bit random to be focusing on what might happen if Kim died, and therefore it could be foreshadowing her being killed off very soon. But with it being almost 37 years since she debuted, are we about to lose Kim for good?

One fan said on social media: “I hope it’s not but this is starting to feel like the beginning of the end for the character of Kim with the will plot. She has become one of my favourites recently so I will be sad if it is.”

Another viewer said: “I can’t lie all this talk about Kim’s will and Joe’s desperation for Home Farm got me wondering the same. But would they really kill off the Kim Tate?” It comes as new spoilers teased the Tates and the Dingles would feature in much more drama with things escalating at the farm.

Deafblind boy, 5, makes EastEnders debut as mum hopes he’ll ‘break down barriers’

Harvey Hind from Lancashire stars in EastEnders playing Arlo, a preschool boy who is registered blind, as his mum says she hopes it shows disabled children they can achieve anything

A mother has expressed her hope that her five year old deafblind son will “break down barriers” for disabled children following his appearance in an episode of EastEnders.

Harvey Hind, from Clitheroe, Lancashire, made his acting debut during Wednesday’s episode of the BBC One soap, portraying Arlo, a preschool boy who is registered blind.

His mother Kimberly said: “I hope Harvey featuring in EastEnders shows other disabled children, especially those who are deafblind, that they can achieve anything.” She added: “Harvey loves being in the spotlight but for us the most important thing will always be raising awareness and breaking down barriers so every disabled child gets the same opportunities as anyone else.

“Harvey did amazingly at the filming, I’m so proud of him. There were four cameras on him but he took it all in his stride.”

During the episode, Arlo and his mother visit Lauren Branning and Peter Beale’s home, where Arlo plays with her son Jimmy, who was revealed to be blind in a storyline last year, with Arlo’s mother offering Lauren guidance on raising a blind child.

At around four weeks old, Harvey failed his newborn screening hearing test, and his mother spotted a flicker in his eye around the same time. The family arranged a private consultation and he was diagnosed as blind at three months old.

He navigates using a red-and-white striped cane, which is used by deafblind people, and communicates through BSL. He also wears cochlear implants which provide him with access to sound. Kimberly revealed she found his first two years challenging as she battled to connect with her son, and was forced to quit work to look after him as he grew increasingly distressed whilst attending a mainstream nursery.

Disability charity Sense ultimately provided the family with a specialist in supporting deafblind children, which Kimberly described as “lifesaving” for her. She added: “I was so anxious when I found out Harvey was deafblind, so his character’s storyline resonated with me a lot. I didn’t have any experience with disability and I kept imagining the worst-case scenarios.

“Luckily, with the support of organisations like Sense, Harvey is now a really happy child who is eager to learn, loves exploring and has a cheeky personality.”

Harvey has featured in the charity’s 2025 Christmas appeal and in TV news segments highlighting the difficulties encountered by disabled children within education.

The EastEnders episode featuring Harvey will broadcast on BBC One at 7.30pm on Wednesday.

Coronation Street spoilers drop major hint about who dies as Theo and Megan exposed

Coronation Street spoilers for next week see residents catching onto two different villains, both of whom are potential victims in the murder twist next month on the ITV soap

Two potential murder victims take centre stage on Coronation Street next week, with their lies rumbled.

Recently viewers were told one of five villains would be killed off in April. It will be Jodie Ramsey, Carl Webster, Theo Silverton, Megan Walsh or Maggie Driscoll.

Now, new spoilers for next week could suggest it will be one of two villains. Secrets are exposed next week it seems, with motives and suspects set up for two of the five potential victims.

Theo and Megan both come under the spotlight next week, as Theo’s abusive behaviour looks set to be rumbled. In the fallout to Megan being rumbled this week, next week sees more than one resident desperate for her to face justice.

READ MORE: Has Dillon left Hollyoaks? Star ‘absolutely gutted’ as he breaks silence on exitREAD MORE: Coronation Street ‘lets slip’ flashforward murder victim in sinister ‘foreshadowing’

Theo places himself up there as a firm favourite to die for sure. Not only does he dash Todd’s marathon hopes in a cruel plan, but he then springs a surprise wedding on him, trying to trap him for good.

His mask soon slips though and it’s not long before a character possibly unearths his vile and abusive behaviour. So does next week place him at the top of the list of who dies in April?

Our soap insider teases: “Theo cruelly sabotages Todd’s martathon prep, before heading to the event and pretending Todd has already gone. When Todd realises he’s missed the marathon he’s gutted, and seemingly unaware of Theo’s part in it.

“Todd’s friends are disappointed too, and he fears he’s let them down. All the while, a smug Theo shows off his medal, before offering a disappointed Todd a shoulder to cry on. Seemignly Theo’s plan to reel Todd back in after their split drama has worked.”

Later in the week we see George Shuttleworth suggesting to Todd that Theo isn’t good for him. It’s clear he’s not keen and soon he’s deasperate to keep Theo on side, despite Theo’s attempts to win him back around.

Our insider said: “Theo tries to paint himself as a changed man to George and Christina. George seems taken by his claims but when Theo leaves, he admits he’s doing it so that Theo doesn’t know about his suspicions.”

Those suspicions raise though when George visits the flat and overhears Theo shouting abuse at Todd. “Theo returns from a run after more drama with Todd,” shares our insider.

“Clearly in a mood, he thinks Todd is in the bathroom and begins shouting abusive comments through the door. He’s left exposed though when George emerges from the room, having heard everything.”

So will this be the moment Theo is rumbled and could it lead to Theo being killed off? Another character whose game is well and truly up is child groomer Megan.

This week sees her exposed for abusing teen Will Driscoll, and next week his whole family, and her partner Daniel Osbourne, want to get to the bottom of what’s happened. After the news that she is pregnant but is refusing a DNA test, they want to know whether Will could be the baby’s father.

Our insider said: “Will’s dad Ben calls the family together to discuss the baby, but Will soon leaps to Megan’s defence, in denial and still trying to cover for her. Maggie loses it though, and tensions simmer with Ben hopeful that Will might attend counselling, and that he might expose what really happened with Megan.

“Towards the end of the week, Daniel urges teen Sam Blakeman to speak to the police and share everything he knows about the grooming. After all, it was Sam who initially figured out what was going on only to be threatened by teacher Megan.

“Sam is very paranoid, while it’s clear Daniel is hurt and then there’s the Driscolls who are reeling from recent events. So what are the chances that one of these characters will go too far in their bid to expose Megan, and could she be the one who dies?”

Coronation Street icon Eva Price set for ‘shock discovery’ over evil Megan’s past

Coronation Street’s Megan Walsh will finally be exposed in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap, leaving Eva Price and her entire family shaken when they discover what she has been doing

Coronation Street‘s Megan Walsh will finally be exposed in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap. The teacher, played by Beth Nixon, has been carrying out an illicit affair with her student Will Driscoll as part of a controversial storyline on the ITV soap.

Will arrived with his family last October to move into the Rovers Return, and it was quickly established that Megan was his athletics coach but there was a lot more to it than just that. Megan eventually moved to Weatherfield, got a job at the local secondary school and has even started up a relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) as a cover-up.

But spoilers have now revealed that Megan’s “past will come back to haunt her,” leaving Will’s stepmum Eva Price (Cathertine Tyldesley) to discover the truth about what she has been doing.

Megan’s flatmate Leanne also looks set to weigh in on the harrowing situation, as her own stespon Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) has worked out what his going on between Will and Megan, and has received multiple threats from the villainous teacher. After the bombshell scenes, this will also leave Daniel wondering where he stands as he potentially comes to realise that his entire relationship was a lie.

Just weeks ago, Corrie aired a flashforward episode that revealed that Megan is one of five potential murder victims, along with fellow villains Jodie Ramsey, Carl Webster, Maggie Driscoll, and Theo Silverton. So will this all lead to the ultimate downfall for Megan or will the teacher actually face prison time for her crimes?

Coronation Street boss Kate Brookes recently explained that she the story was a “very important” one to tell. She said: “It’s a very important story to tell and we want to be as truthful as possible. As part of that story Sam will end up getting embroiled in it all.

“Sam is semi-related to the pub family and he potentially gets wind that something’s amiss. We will see the lengths that Megan will go to manipulate Sam into keeping quiet. It’ll be massively detrimental to Sam’s wellbeing.”

Meanwhile, for actress Beth Nixon, Coronation Street marks her television debut but she had actually auditioned for other parts on the soap before landing the role of Megan. Speaking to York College, Beth shared that the casting team had seen Beth in several shows at her drama school: the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester, so she was “kind of on their radar.”

Revealing her past audition history, Beth explained: “But I’d auditioned for Corrie twice before – as a baddie both times of course – including for the role of Lauren.” Actress Cait Fitton ended up being cast as Lauren, making her debut in 2022, and has remained on the show since.

Beth added: “Then, earlier this year, my agent sent me a casting brief and explained it was for a paedophile, which is a bit crazy to play because they’re obviously not a redeemable character, so they can push it pretty far.” After sending a self-tape Beth attended a chemistry test with other actors who were being considered to play Will. She then performed a scene on the set at The Bistro – and it turned out the bosses were rather impressed with her.

Beth – who was working as a skin clinic manager before joining Corrie – said: “I was at work when my agent called me. I was upstairs as my colleague watched the desk and, when he told me I’d got it, everybody in the clinic could hear me screaming my head off and then I cried, because it’s been four years since I graduated and this is my first TV role.

“It’s been a hard time and I was really close to quitting, having a normal job and pursuing a different career, so this just came at exactly the right time and when I needed it.”

Quaint village ‘time forgot’ with crystal clear river and stone cottages

Sitting in a glacial valley surrounded by vast farmland is an area that offers tranquillity and a true sense of England’s countryside with historic villages and walking trails

For those seeking a sense of peace and tranquillity, this glacial valley, encircled by expansive farmland, delivers precisely that – an authentic taste of England’s rural heartland.

Littondale is a small and peaceful dale in Yorkshire, nestled in a classic u-shape, with deep historical roots and a flavour of country living from a bygone era.

Visitors to the dale experience a feeling that time has stood still, as its hamlets and way of life remain quintessentially English in every respect.

Indeed, archaeologists have discovered numerous prehistoric and later settlements that once inhabited the length of the valley. Their extensive findings also showed that throughout the mediaeval period the dale was predominantly managed by several monastic houses.

The dale now consists of several settlements, including Hawkswick, Arncliffe and Litton. Each is characterised by farmhouses dating back to the 17th century.

Famous for its dramatic landscapes, historic cities, hearty food, and rich cultural heritage Yorkshire is just waiting to be explored. Sykes Cottages has a large number of properties to choose from with prices from £31 per night.

Contributing to its peaceful atmosphere is the stunning river which famously winds through the valley before eventually merging with the larger River Wharfe.

Shallow yet flowing with remarkably clear waters, the River Skirfare meanders through the farmlands and valley floor, vanishing for portions of the year.

As seasonal conditions shift, the stream trickles away and disappears beneath the ground, near Litton, revealing an unusual limestone landscape below.

Arncliffe

Arncliffe stands as one of the principal villages in the region, and despite its compact size, it boasts considerable fame. Recognised by countless households across Britain, it served as the original backdrop and filming location for the much-loved soap Emmerdale Farm.

The village pub, called the Falcon, was even featured as the Woolpack Inn. The traditional inn, according to visitor feedback, has seen better days.

However, one guest commented on TripAdvisor: “We had read about this tiny pub. It had been featured on the TV soap Emmerdale many moons ago, and it did not disappoint! The landlord was straight out of central casting.”

The area still comprises the most enchanting stone cottages, alongside a delightful church, the Church of St Oswald. Constructed sometime between the 16th and 18th centuries, the building remains a listed structure, believed to have been developed from an original Saxon place of worship.

Positioned at the centre of the village, the church continues to attract curious visitors and was once a location regularly visited by the renowned poet and novelist Charles Kingsley.

His time there during the Victorian period was believed to have influenced his celebrated children’s story, The Water Babies, penned in 1873.

Walking

Many people choose to treat the area as a base for rambling, parking in one of its villages and tackling the Yorkshire Dales terrain. Most of these trails are circular, returning you directly to your starting point, whilst exploring the valleys and peaks en route.

The Littondale to Kettlewell walk is a well-loved route, starting in the village of Arncliffe, leading you across the shoulder of Birks in Kettlewell, where you can pause for refreshments, before returning into Littondale.

Alternatively, some choose the slightly over five-mile walk that takes you from Arncliffe to Litton and loops back round.

The two-hour ramble provides a leisurely countryside stroll as you soak up the picturesque beauty of Yorkshire, with the chance to make a stop, or two, at the charming village pubs.

Why isn’t Coronation Street or Emmerdale on ITVX? Is it on tonight?

Fans of Emmerdale and Coronation Street were not impressed to hear yet again the soaps had been cancelled by ITV in favour of sports coverage, leading to a plea to bosses

Fans of the soaps have once again been dealt a blow, as there’s no Emmerdale or Coronation Street on Friday on ITVX or ITV1.

The soaps have once again been shelved by ITV in favour of sports coverage. It’s sparked fury amongst soap fans who had been promised five days a week of the soaps from January.

Not only that, but most weeks the ‘missing episodes’ never end up being replaced, leaving fans annoyed. This time, it’s the rugby coverage again, while soon it will no doubt be more football that takes the shows off air.

Time and time again viewers have pleaded with bosses to make a change so that fans do not miss out. A suggestion was that the episodes could still drop on ITVX, or sports could be moved elsewhere given ITV as a number of channels.

Taking to social media, fans called out the move once more annoyed that another Friday would see both soaps dropped in favour of sports. A fan said: “What again !! This is happening way too often.”

Another agreed: “Why can’t rugby go on ITV3?” as a third said: “Exactly! Or they could at least still put the Corrie episode on ITVX.” Another fan said: “This really annoys me when this happens.”

A fan then asked: “When will the missing episodes of Corrie and Emmerdale due to sport on Friday be shown?” The answer is never, as the filming of the episodes would have been planned around the ‘cancellations’, while in future there will no doubt be episodes airing on different days.

It’s happened quite often since January, with fans having fumed about it before this week too. A fan said: “Why can’t the footy and rugby be put on another channel, we always miss out , so unfair!!!”

A fan added: “Never mind the loyal supporters of soaps so just take them off for sport.” Another fan commented: “They’re at it again taking Corrie off two nights this week and not making the time up Why oh why do they that? ITV has four channels plus ITVX so why not put football on one of their other channels and leave Corrie alone?” Other fans disagreed with the comments, suggesting it wasn’t a big deal, but soap fans would beg to differ!

EastEnders air ‘heartbreaking’ Nigel scenes as character leaves Walford for good

EastEnders have been using Nigel Bates in a dementia storyline, exploring the effects of the illness on those suffering from it and their loved ones, particularly those caring for them

BBC soap EastEnders has aired emotional scenes about Nigel Bates‘ dementia, as the fans become sure he will die soon. The character has been part of a “heartbreaking” dementia storyline that has highlighted the impact of the illness on those caring for a sick loved one.

In Thursday’s episode (March 5), Nigel (Paul Bradley) was thrown a going-away party at the Vic before moving to his new care home. While he was able to smile and laugh in the pub, as those around him reminisced, he was unable to remain completely in the present and struggled with his illness.

As he hopped in a taxi, Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) noted that Nigel was unlikely to ever be back to Albert Square – and fans agree.

When he arrived at the care home, Nigel became agitated and then unresponsive. His behaviour was deeply distressing for Phil (Steve McFadden), who had been caring for his friend. Breaking down in tears, Phil apologised to Nigel and gave his hand a squeeze, but Nigel did not move. As such, many fans think Nigel will die soon.

“I don’t know why, but I feel maybe next week, maybe Nigel’s final week,” one wrote. “I don’t know because seeing this episode made it feel like his time is near, and it’s so devastating and heartbreaking.”

Another added that Nigel’s unresponsive behaviour made it look like he was already dead. “Very much looked like he died at the end of the episode as he didn’t react to the door slamming or the card falling.”

Others shared that they thought this would become a euthanasia storyline. “I genuinely thought Phil was gonna suffocate Nigel OMG,” one wrote.

A second said: “For a minute there I thought Phil was gonna ease his pain by suffocating him by putting the jacket on him, but I’m glad it didn’t happen as it would have been even more heartbreaking.”

They later added that they loved a conversation between Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) and Nigel’s wife Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) and felt this was leading towards Nigel’s death too: “I thought they were gonna go down the route of euthanasia.”

As part of Nigel’s dementia storyline, his daughter, Clare Bates (Gemma Bissix) has returned to the Square for a short stint. Clare is Nigel’s adoptive daughter. They became family in 1994 when he married her mother, and he continued to care for her after her mother died a year later.

Though Nigel and Clare both left the show shortly after, Clare made a comeback in 2008 without him, and she has made a return again. Her return was not such a happy one, as she had been estranged from her father, and he failed to recognise her for most of the episode. Eventually, Julie helped Nigel remember his daughter in a touching moment.

Coronation Street icon Beverley Callard makes heartbreaking admission amid cancer battle

Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard, who was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer, says she is trying to “disguise what she is going through” to appear on a red carpet

Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard has admitted that she is “even more nervous” than usual about going on red carpets amid her cancer battle. The actress, 68, who played Rovers landlady Liz McDonald on the ITV soap on and off for 30 years, revealed last month that she had been diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer and is continuing to recover from her first bout of surgery.

The soap legend has been keeping fans up to date regularly, but after taking some much-needed time away from social media to spend time with her husband, she returned with another candid post on Tuesday evening, where she sadly explained she is trying to “disguise” any signs of her illness as she prepares to step in front of the cameras again to promote a project.

Beverley, who has been married to Jon McEwan since 2010, said: “Hi. An update. I’ve not posted for the last couple of days because to be honest, I’m just really tired, I’m rubbish at the moment. But also, a lot of your messages have been so great and lots of them said ‘Just take a bit of time for you!’ So I’ve done that and it was good for Jon and I just to have some quiet time because, obviously, it gets to him, just as much as me.

“Anyway, today has been a good day. I’ve had more energy and I actually went and had my nails done today, which was quite nice. But I was exhausted when I came back not doing anything!

“Another thing I wanted to talk about was…I have to, hopefully, go back to work on Sunday and Monday, just for two days but it’s to do promotion for a job that I filmed last year, a few months ago and I’ve got the most worrying thing. It’s a bit of a red carpet do and anybody who knows me knows I hate those things.”

The star, who recently signed up to appear in the Irish soap Fair City and was preparing to film her first scenes when doctors informed her she had cancer, insisted that she “loves” everything about being an actress apart from the publicity side of things and admitted that her fears have got “even worse” since her diagnosis.

She said: “I love my job, I love learning lines, I love creating a character but standing posing on a red carpet is my worst nightmare. But now [it’s] even worse because I feel lopsided.

“I’ve just had to have a lady come to alter a dress that I’m thinking about wearing, and try and disguise what I’m going through at the moment so I’m even more nervous about it.

“I know loads of people will think ‘Ooh, red carpet, and getting all dressed up…’ I prefer being dressed like this, but there you go! I’m nervous and anxious about that, and I’m trying to prepare.” Beverley

“The other thing is that I’ve got the hospital again in the morning and hopefully I will find out tomorrow if I have to have a second procedure, that’s at 9am, so I’ll know more about where I stand then but I’m sending loads of love, and thank you for the love you’re sending me.”

The update comes just days after Beverley tearfully revealed she was struggling following her surgery. The Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star told her followers: “Full disclosure, it’s a week today since my operation and I woke up this morning and I put yesterday’s clothes on – which were dropped on the floor last night when I went to bed.

I I’ve not cleaned my teeth, I’ve not combed my hair. I can’t answer my phone because if somebody says a kind word to me, I just cry.”

And I’m so absolutely, absolutely rubbish today and I’ve been like that all day. I’m really tired, I keep feeling a bit queasy but I’ve no idea why. And I just thought, ‘oh well I’m not going to post anything today because I don’t want to make people feel miserable’ – but maybe you are feeling the same.”

Emmerdale fans ‘devastated’ as fan favourite Bear Wolf endures sad twist

Emmerdale viewers were left “devastated” after things got worse for Bear Wolf on Friday night’s episode of the ITV soap after everything the fan favourite has already been through

Emmerdale fans were left “devastated” after things got worse for Bear Wolf on Friday night’s episode of the ITV soap. The former professional wrestler, who has been played by Joshua Richards since 2019, has been through the mill in recent months, having become a victim of modern slavery at the hands of evil Celia Daniels and Ray Walters on their farm.

In January, as part of a major flashback week, it was revealed that Bear had killed Ray following his imprisonment and after being released on bail, he has been struggling with his guilt ever since, struggling to sleep and turning to alcohol to cope.

On the latest episode of the Yorkshire-based serial, Bear tried to obtain painkillers from GP Manpreet Sharma but she refused to give him them, aware that he had been given opium whilst in slavery and therefor unable to have any. Turning to drink, an angry Bear injured himself when he punched a mirror and took himself off to hospital.

Once there, he begged Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) to prescribe him painkillers, but he reminded him that as a student doctor, he would not be able to, although he did help him with his cut hand. Not being able to get painkillers enraged bear, and he grabbed the young medic and held him in the same wrestling pose he used to strangle Ray to death.

Jacob kicked a trolley and the loud noise startled Bear so much that he came to his senses and stopped the attack, but it was then that Bear’s son Paddy (Dominic Brunt) arrived, along with his wife Mandy (Lisa Riley), and told him that the police were on their way to take action. Following the ordeal, Doctor Todd (Caroline Harker) cornered Jacob and demanded an explanation as to how the student doctor had ended up in that position to begin with.

She raged: “You didn’t think at all. In fact, for a supposedly intelligent young man, you really are remarkably stupid. You cannot let personal relationships affect patient care.

“You seem to think the fact that you know someone means you can ignore all our protocols. But if you carry on behaving so irresponsibly in my department, I will have you removed from the course!” She later changed her tune, and sent Jacob off to the canteen to get a coffee and recharge. But it had all proven too much for him, as he took himself off to the toilet, looked in the mirror and cried.

In the final moments of the episode, Paddy and Mandy wondered where Bear had gone as he was nowhere to be found, and no one had seen him either. Already worried about his father, who was missing for months before being discovered within the slave ring, Paddy began to panic as he realised he didn’t have his phone with him and had likely wandered off into the night. Sure enough, in the final shot of the episode, Bear was seen wandering through the city.

Fans instantly took to social media to react to the sad twist, with one writing on X: “An appreciation tweet for the fantastic Joshua Richards! Seeing Bear’s gradual decline in his mental health since Ray’s death has been devastating to watch. I hope this storyline leads to Bear being sectioned and getting the help he needs.”

Another said: “Bear walking through the streets alone[crying emoji] This reminds me of April’s life on the streets episode from last year,” whilst a third wrote: “The way that nurse speaks to Jacob is vile! [angry face emoji] Bear is mentally unwell and Jacob was only trying to help him.”

Coronation Street viewers say ‘it’s over’ after fan favourite Bernie is arrested

Coronation Street viewers are worried for Bernie Winter’s marraige after she was arrested on Thursday night’s episode of the ITV soap following a mysterious attack

Coronation Street fans are worried for Bernie Winter after she was arrested on Thursday night’s episode of the ITV soap. The café waitress, who has been played by Jane Hazlegrove since 2019, has become the victim of stalking in recent weeks after she met the mysterious Mal Roper in a hotel room some weeks ago.

Bernie had turned to drugs following the death of her son-in-law Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), which came just a couple of years after her son Paul passed away, and met Mal in the Chariot Square Hotel, spending some time in his room before passing out in a nightclub toilet.

Mal had arrived claiming to be the husband of a woman called Alice, whom Roy Cropper thought he had developed a penpal-type relationship with over their love of literature, and quickly got a job at Roy’s Rolls before setting his sights on Bernie. Viewers will know that earlier in the week, he locked her in the cafe and when she eventually made it home, she realised her own face had been cut out of her wedding photo.

Things only got worse for Bernie on the latest instalment of the world’s longest-running TV soap as her husband Dev, who already knew about the drugs, and recently she had kissed Mal on that fateful night, delivered some home truths to Bernie.

He said: “Where was your honesty the morning after you betrayed me? Or every day since? Hmm? Because it seems to me, honey, that honesty’s all well and good when it’s convenient.

“It’s not about what you did any more. Yes, it hurts and I hate it! But I’ve been around the block, I can see how it could happen. No, it’s this slow drip of the truth as and when it suits you. This, is how it ends with your lies and your dishonesty.”

Just moments later, a patient was revealed being rushed to Weatherfield General, and it was indeed Mal, with medics speculating that some sort of attack had taken place. A nurse explained to DC Kit Green, Bernie’s long-lost son, that he had suffered a cardiac arrest when he hit his head on the pavement and was in critical condition in intensive care.

Dev later called round to the cafe to reassure Bernie that didn’t want to split up with her, having realised that she just needed to grieve. He begged: “No more sorries. And no more secrets, please. If you love me half as much as you say you do, then we don’t need them, do we?” and they shared a tearful embrace.

But Bernie’s troubles were far from over, as Detective Constable Browning marched into the café, looking for Bernie. He said: “Bernadine Winter-Alahan, I am arresting you on suspicion of assault…” before Bernie pleaded her innocence, to no avail. She begged: “Can you just tell me who I’m meant to have assaulted?” and she told that was a matter that would be discussed at the station.

This all comes after Bernie had some cross words with Mal in the street on Wednesday night, where he insulted her and taunted her over her grief. She warned him to stay away and said if she didn’t she would kill him, but walked away as Mal stood there chuckling.

Fans were convinced that all of this will ultimately spell the end for Bernie and Dev as a couple, who only got married towards the end of last year. One said: “Dev surely can’t forgive Bernie again. Her behaviour was terrible. He doesn’t deserve that.” Another wrote: “No don’t let it be the end of Dev and Bernie” whilst a third wondered: “Is Bernie and Dev over?”
