This Morning viewers were less than impressed with the discussion of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the ITV show.

After six years in America, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are returning to the UK.

As the pair left to live Stateside, they also officially relinquished their senior working royal duties. However, despite their anticipated return, their non-working royal status will remain.

Speaking about the recent revelation on This Morning, ITV presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley discussed the matter with Ashley James and Nick Ferrai.

The 39-year-old shared that despite what people think of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, they were a ‘huge asset’ to the royal family due to their global reach, reports the Express.

Ashley went on to say it’s ‘a shame’ that the situation can’t be dealt with privately, sharing that Harry is a royal, albeit officially or unofficially.

The ITV personality pointed out that, regardless of their non-working status, Harry and his children would still require security protection due to ongoing credible threats against them.

Airing her hopes that, going forward, they could ‘come together’, Ashley stated that, personally, she thinks the monarchy would be ‘so much stronger’ with Harry and Meghan.

However, viewers watching shared their thoughts on the discussion, with opinions very mixed. While one person said they were ‘sick of hearing’ about the royals each time they turned on the TV, someone else stated the ITV show should ‘Leave them alone’.

According to reports, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan shared that they were ‘surprised’ by King Charles‘ letter, making clear that the couple will remain “private citizens” rather than working royals when they return.

It’s believed that the letter, which was issued on behalf of the King, was sent to over 100 “senior stakeholders” this week.

It stated that Harry and Meghan should not use their HRH styles and “do not represent the sovereign” when they’re out making public appearances.

A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess said: “We were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance,” adding that the publication of the letter had caught Harry and Meghan off guard.

Video obtained by The Times shows Royal High football coach Adam Brubaker kicking a football toward a student and hitting him in the groin area, which has resulted in the school beginning an investigation on the eve of the team opening its season on Friday.

Brubaker is no longer coaching the team, with the existing coaching staff taking over and the team still planning to play Monroe on Friday, according to a Simi Valley Unified School District official.

Brubaker, a former Panorama coach, took over as head coach at Royal in the middle of the 2025 season.
