The ambitious 22-year-old entrepreneur has been continuing to tackle building up their plant machinery and groundwork business with help from his friends and girlfriend Jess.
Season 3’s ninth episode and grand finale airs tonight, Tuesday, June 30, spelling the end of the popular docu-series with no confirmation of a fourth outing just yet. However, fans of the young Yorkshire farmer will be thrilled by its Channel 5 replacement on TV schedules next week.
Series 3 might be ending but next Tuesday, July 7, fans are going to be treated to a repeat episode from Reuben Owen Life in the Dales Season 2.
The instalment that’s taking up the primetime slot at 8pm will be episode seven where Reuben celebrates his 21st birthday with a vintage tractor journey. His girlfriend Jess also organises a cute surprise of balloons and a cake which is secretly transported under his best friend Tommy McWhirter’s tractor engine.
As of yet though, it isn’t clear if this is just a one-off repeat of Life in the Dales or if Channel 5 is going to continue airing episodes every Tuesday.
But before fans step back in time, there is the Season 3 finale to get excited about. The official synopsis for tonight’s episode reads: “With lambing season well underway, Reuben and Jess race to stock-proof the fences at Brough Castle Farm before more than 300 newborn lambs arrive in the fields.
“However, when Reuben challenges Jess’s dad Dave to a battle of man versus machine, Jess is left caught in the middle.
“Capper and Sonny attempt to breathe life back into a vintage tractor, but getting it to run proves tricky.”

Amanda Owen rose to prominence on the much-loved series Our Yorkshire Farm.
The Channel 5 programme launched in 2018, chronicling Amanda’s experiences at Ravenseat Farm alongside her ex-husband Clive and their nine children. The show has since become one of the broadcaster’s most-watched offerings.
Channel 4 subsequently commissioned a ten-part series titled Our Farm Next Door, which documents the family as they renovate a 200-year-old farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales.
The third series broadcast earlier this year, with a further instalment on the way.
As Our Farm Next Door prepares to air a repeat episode this evening (Friday, June 26), here’s everything you need to know about Amanda Owen’s life beyond the cameras, reports Yorkshire Live.
Heartbreaking losses
Amanda and her family have endured several painful losses at the farm. In 2022, the Owens bid farewell to their cherished dog, Kate, who died peacefully in her sleep.
In a series of tweets at the time, Amanda said she was “mourning” her “faithful workmate, companion, colleague and friend,” adding: “I miss her”.
Additionally, an emotional Amanda supported her children through the loss of their treasured horse, Little Joe. “Eventually, all life will come to an end, right? Anything can die; life is a truly fragile thing,” she noted.
In a previous episode of Our Farm Next Door, Amanda also battled to contain her emotions after discovering that their family dog, Chalky, had passed away.
When reflecting on the moment she learned the news, the mother of nine said: “It was really clear and obvious that Chalky was fading away. When the children came running out of the house saying that Chalky had passed away, they were absolutely bereft, and they knew it was coming, and I knew it was coming.”
Health struggles
The Yorkshire Shepherdess has spoken candidly about her struggle with an eating disorder that left her fearing for her life.
Amanda previously told Daily Mail: “I just shut down. Physical and mental health are intertwined and anxiety, depression, paranoia, agoraphobia and an eating disorder were all smooshed into one.”
She added: “I remember sitting in the sheep pens in the dark, just hiding. It’s the price you pay for living your life in the open, for being observed. It’s like having a post mortem before you’re dead.”
The television star revealed that she was repeatedly in and out of hospital during what she described as a “critical time”, with her former partner, Clive, even worrying that Amanda might not make it through to the following morning.

Amanda has since reassured her followers with the welcome news that she is “out of the woods”.
More recently, Amanda found herself back at hospital after her son, Miles, suffered a medical emergency on the farm due to his type one diabetes.
“It’s been a hard few days but we’re all here to tell the tale. I’m super proud of you @milesowen86,” the star wrote on Instagram, prompting an outpouring of support from her devoted fans.

Our Farm Next Door star Amanda Owen appears to feel the heat as she makes a frank admission moments into the show.
In a repeat episode from series three of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, which airs tonight (Friday 19 June), work continues on the farmhouse renovation as builder Richard starts plastering the interior walls and joiner Dan delivers and fits the custom-made doors.
As the project progresses, Amanda begins to feel the strain of the ambitious build, particularly when it comes to making key design choices for the kitchen, which proves to be one of the most challenging parts of the renovation.
Balancing modern practicality with strict historical preservation, Amanda expressed her confusion, admitting she was unsure where things would go.
When asked where she would like a certain socket to be placed, the mother of nine put her hands on her and said: “I don’t know, I’m beginning to start feeling really stressed about this.”
Talking directly to the camera, she then said: “I don’t want to start throwing impossible ideas around. I mean the whole project looked impossible from a start off so I think I’ve done well!”
Broadcast on Channel 4, the spin-off series from Our Yorkshire Farm sees the Owen family undertake the ambitious restoration of a long-abandoned farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales. The project centres on a centuries-old property known locally as Anty John’s, which has fallen into disrepair after years of neglect.
Set high above Swaledale, the historic building holds a special place in the area’s heritage, and the Owen family is determined to bring it back to life.

The farmer, who has nine children with Amanda Owen, has been appearing in his eldest son Reuben’s Channel 5 programme, Life in the Dales.
The show follows the family, who rose to prominence on Our Yorkshire Farm, as they continue to document the ups and downs of their farming life.
A recent instalment saw Clive venture beyond the Dales on a road trip to Ireland with his sons Miles and Sid, as they took part in the All Nations Shearing Champions.
However, the journey proved far from plain sailing for Clive, as he revealed he had suffered an “incident” along the way, reports the Express.
Upon arriving at the competition in Donegal, ahead of the two-day event, Clive declared: “Well boys we’re here. The sheep pens are empty but they’ll be coming we hope.”
The narrator then observed: “With the chill of yesterday’s storm still in the air, there’s a memory the boys haven’t quite shaken.”
Sid enquired: “Are you feeling better after yesterday?”
The farmer brushed it aside, responding: “You don’t let me forget yesterday, you guys. My little incident on the ship…”
Miles chipped in: “That sea air was getting to you.”
Clive then put his sons’ minds at rest: “No I’m fine, so forget all about it.”
The narrator continued: “Unlikely, but with prize sheep, sizzling stalls of Irish grub and more vintage tractors than you can shake a spanner at, Clive’s little incident might slip off the radar.”
Miles then jokingly questioned whether his dad was “up to” judging, as he commented: “You look the part but whether you’re up to it…”
“Just remember, the judge is always right,” Clive hit back.
Ahead of heading off on their lengthy journey, marking Sid and Miles’ first time outside the country, Clive shared his concerns about leaving the farm.
He told Reuben: “I’m going to take Miles and Sid because they’ve never been on a ship and they’ve never been overseas.”
He went on to the camera: “I used to skive off school and go and watch these famous sales and watch these great men sell these wonderful sheep and dream that maybe one day it might be me.
“For me, to eventually breed a Champion myself, that’s pretty amazing, actually. We called him Glory and sold him for £28,000 which was amazing.
“Fellas that go and judge like myself, know how hard it is to breed these things. So I see it as a great responsibility and a great honour to judge.
“It’s a tough thing to do because you don’t make everybody happy when you judge sheep.”
Before setting off, Miles and Sid shared their excitement for the ferry, with the former saying: “Yeah, they reckon it will be a bit stormy.”
“Hope you don’t get sea sick,” Reuben warned, while his girlfriend reassured: “You’ll be fine!”
After asking if Sid has ever been abroad before, he replied: “No I haven’t, this will be the first time.”
Clive added, “It’s quite a journey,” before sharing his concerns for travelling through the Irish sea before hitting the sheep competition.
“Tomorrow, there’s a big storm passing through so I’m quite worried about the crossing, how rough it will be.
“Whether we’re ill or anything, I would not like that to happen but we shall see.”
Reuben replied: “Well have a good time you three,” as they set off, with Clive saying, “Have a good time you three.”
“Miss you already,” Reuben called after them.

The Channel 5 show chronicles the young farmer’s journey through the ups and downs of managing a machinery business at Ravenseat, the sprawling 2,000-acre family farm in Swaledale, North Yorkshire, where he honed his skills under the guidance of his parents, Clive and Amanda Owen.
Reuben, 22, first captured the nation’s hearts on Our Yorkshire Farm before Life In The Dales launched in 2024.
Beyond showcasing his farming exploits, he regularly offers fans a peek into his personal life with Jessica.
Jessica herself comes from a farming background, working on her parents’ Brough Castle farm, which houses hundreds of animals, reports the Express.
The couple got together in October 2024, and have since shared some loved-up posts on social media, marking Valentine’s Day, their anniversary and spending Christmas together.
They met at a young farmers’ convention, with Jessica later sharing on the show: “Ever since we first met, we just clicked. I think it’s because I’m from a farming background, so’s Reuben.”
She added: “I just love him to bits. Love his family, get on great with them.”
Reuben meanwhile told OK magazine: “It took me a while to ask her out, I wasn’t that brave but I just asked her one night, we went out for some tea one night and I’d lost my wallet and she had to pay for my dinner!”
In a previous interview with The Mirror, Reuben shared how his family reacted to Jessica, saying: “Mum and Jess get on well, they talk about sheep together, they all approve and they all get along really well.”
The couple are also planning on moving in together soon, as he added: “We’re just waiting for something to come up. I’ve got to try and get a nice place, get a bit of a farm somewhere one day.
“It would be ideal to have a farm where I can park my diggers and she can have her sheep and cows.”
When probed on the prospect of starting a family, referencing his parents’ large brood, he quipped: “I don’t think I fancy nine of them, I don’t fancy nine at all. We’ll have to wait and see.”
In a 2023 article for Farmers Guardian, Jessica, then 18, spoke about growing up on Brough Castle Farm in Cumbria.
She said: “Farming is in my blood: I grew up on Brough Castle Farm and remember helping my mum and dad in the fields from a young age. Since then, it is all I have ever wanted to do.
“I am now working full-time alongside my dad and taking on more responsibilities for different parts of the farm, which is really exciting. I have always loved working with animals too, particularly cows and sheep; they have their own personalities and I feel like I know them all. Because I have grown up with them since I was very little, I see all the animals as part of our family.”
