Maya and Ruben confirmed their romance in April this year and it’s been reported the Love Island host is planning a full-time move to Manchester to support him. 

A source said previously: “Maya loves the down-to-earth nature of Manchester, as well as the glamour of the football and WAG scene.

“Bristol and London will always be special to her but she is loving spending more time in Manchester with Ruben. The city has become a celebrity hub.”

Maya recently cleared up speculation she’s set to quit Love Island, reassuring fans she’s going nowhere right now. 

In a statement posted on social media, she said: “I did tell you if you were going to hear any news about it, it would come from me and me only.

“I will be hosting next year, I’ll be back for All Stars in January and then summer series in June and July. We go again, mother lovers.”

LOVE Island host Maya Jama has revealed that she was put on an IV drip after falling ill.

Taking to her Instagram stories in Tuesday, the stunning hostess with the mostess was working while hooked up to a drip.

“The flu struck,” she revealed alongside a photo of her with the IV drip in her arm.

Maya could be seen getting her makeup done while on set, with her hair in rollers.

As people flocked around the TV star and did her hair and makeup, someone else tended to her IV drip.

Maya explained how the IV drip came to “save the day”.

It seems Maya is battling through the flu and continuing to work hard despite feeling under the weather.

Maya recently shed light on the mounting speculation over her Love Island hosting role – after we reported she hadn’t signed a contract earlier this year.

Eager to open up on her plans Maya took to social media and referred to the speculation she was about to walk away, before revealing she would be back.

“I did tell you if you were going to hear any news about it, it would come from me and me only,” she said.

“I will be hosting next year, I’ll be back for All Stars in January and then summer series in June and July. We go again, mother lovers.”

She also explained why she is not back hosting US spin-off, Love Island Games, which she presented the first series of.

She added: “Oh and I am obviously not hosting Love Island Games this year, as much as I love the show I physically could not host three Love Island series a year but Ariana [Madix] is doing a great job and I hope you are enjoying that one too.”

It comes as ITV chiefs offered Maya a deal reported to be worth nearly £2million to stay on.

It was believed Maya has been planning to walk away to explore work with streaming giant Netflix.

This comes as Maya’s footballer boyfriend Reuben Dias was slammed for posting footage of a bullfight.

He was recently on a lavish Portuguese holiday with the Love Island presenter.

Manchester City’s defender Dias, 28, shared the clip showing eight men surrounding one enraged beast.

IT’S CLEAR that The Masked Singer is a huge asset to the ITV schedule. From the reaction of viewers at home, it seems that the competition is the epitome of primetime Saturday night telly at it’s best.

Alongside the likes of Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent, the guessing game is one of the top three entertainment shows for the broadcaster as up to seven million people tune in to watch.

When we look at the show, we have a real mix of personalities involved. Joel Dommett’s unique style as a host is carefully balanced by the sharp and witty panel of judges. We have singing star power in the form of Rita Ora, veterans of the business in the form of Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross and comedy value from Mo Gilligan.

Last series Rita was forced to take time of the show as she had other commitments across the pond. Huge names such as Nicole Scherzinger, Olly Murs and Jennifer Saunders took her place.

Rita’s star is only on the rise in Hollywood and she’s set to star in a new film alongside the likes of legends such as Robert De Niro and Jamie Foxx in Tin Soldier. This is alongside her marriage to Academy Award winner Taika Waititi.

Clearly not happy with a part-time panelist and a rotating roster of guest judges, ITV bosses have chosen another name to take her place as Love Island star Maya Jama will join the panel. We don’t need to be worried about Rita as she will still be on the US edition.

Maya is a clear favourite amongst telly fans as they love to see her front a show like Love Island and let’s be honest, she’s the perfect fit for it. She is stunning to watch, she’s always on-trend, and very much appeals to the young fan base that flocks to the ITV2 dating show.

But The Masked Singer is a different show on a different channel. Maya is no doubt well versed in the world of television, but she will be surrounded by stars on the panel with decades more experience on air and with more universal appeal. Rita also has huge star power thanks to all her work in the music industry with several hits under her name, something which – despite her undoubted recognition as a star presenter – Maya just does not have.

By some, this could be considered as a risky move for ITV. Especially as networks fight to retain the loyalty of viewers in an age of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+. With such drastic replacement in the panel and the inevitable shift in dynamics, the show is clearly about to change.

She opted for neutral-toned paisley patterned shoes with ankle tassels to match her brunette bob hairdo.

In terms of accessories, the singer opted for a choker necklace and a black clutch with an arm-length chain strap.

Her bold red lip gloss was complemented by chunky black and gold earrings as she smiled for the cameras.

Also in red was chart-topping musician Maisie Peters who looked absolutely tiny in her slimming red gown.

The Good Witch hitmaker stunned in an ankle-length red lace gown with pastel coloured shoes.

She wore her signature circular rimmed glasses whilst she showed off her short blonde bob.

Love Island return?

While Maura Higgins is back on the box for her Love Island spin-off, Maya Jama has not yet renewed her contract.

The red hot Irish star, 34, squeezed into a latex dress to host America’s Love Island Games sister show Aftersun.

But back on home turf, question marks remain over whether Maya Jama will stay on as host of the dating show.

She has still not signed again with ITV to front the UK version when All Stars returns in January.

A source said: “Maya is in demand but she still enjoys presenting Love Island so everyone is hopeful contracts will be sorted soon.

“Talks have been delayed because of some logistics in Maya’s team.”

Love Island host Maya Jama wasted no time in telling runners-up Shakira and Harry what she really thought of their romance during the live final on Monday night. The pair have been on and off and in multiple triangles throughout the series.

But in the last week or so, the Love Island pair reconciled against all odds and seemed to be in it for good this time. Despite dividing viewers and co-stars with their latest reunion, host Maya surprised Harry with what she had to say on Monday.

The presenter gave her true thoughts on the pair, having called out Harry for his behaviour towards Helena and others in a previous episode. It comes as Toni and Cach were announced as this year’s winners, beating Shakira and harry to the prize money.

Harry shared his shock though, as Maya admitted this time it felt different between them. Having seen clips of them together for the final week and the final day, she said watching them she could see it was genuine.

She shared: “Well you both look very happy with each other. It’s nice to see you two together in the final. You both look really… I dunno. The last couple of days I’ve been watching you like, this is cute. This is cute.”

Harry couldn’t hide the shock on his face as he said: “Yeah? I never thought you’d say that to me, Maya.” Agreeing, she replied: “I know, can you believe it? Me calling you cute.

“But you are here in the final. There is obviously something the public have seen that is obviously giving love story.” It comes as the All Stars series was confirmed to return to ITV2 and ITVX for a third series in 2026.

Speaking on the renewal, Mike Spencer-Hayter, Creative Director at Lifted Entertainment, said: “Love Island: All Stars has quickly established itself as a stand-alone hit, keeping fans of the show gripped by iconic Islanders from the past 10 years returning for another chance to find love.

“We are very excited about series 3 and you can expect the twists and turns to continue in All Stars, after an incredible smash hit summer series.” The second series of Love Island : All Stars aired earlier this year, and was won by Gabby Allen and Case O’Gorman. The series also saw the reunion of Ronnie Vint and Harriet Blackmore – but it didn’t come without complaints.

In February, the show lodged over 2,000 complaints to Ofcom in its final week, as fans fumed at various stars for their “bullying behaviour”. On February 12, there were 1,347 complaints, followed by 820 on February 11, 63 on February 13 and 57 on February 16.

The February 12 episode saw Ekin-Su and Elma clash over the latter’s comment about Ekin-Su and Curtis having the weakest connection. Things only got worse between the group when Ekin-Su had kissed Sammy during the heart rate challenge. During the argument, an angry Elma swore at Ekin-Su and Curtis and told them to “shut their mouths”.

Yesterday, fans were left in shock when Alima and Ryan were brutally dumped from the villa. However, their dumping was done via text, as host Maya was nowhere to be seen.

It’s not unusual for Islanders to be dumped without Maya in the villa, but when she does rock up, Love Island fans know something huge is coming. The 30-year-old host was last seen in the sleepover villa, as she informed the Islanders that their actions had consequences.

In scenes last week, Helena chose to recouple with Giorgio, and bring him to the main villa, when Maya later informed her that it meant her current partner, Shea, had been dumped from the villa. As the Islanders returned to the main villa, Maya disappeared from screens, but from her Instagram stories – it looks like she’ll be back very soon.

On Thursday evening, the host took to her Instagram story to inform fans she was back in Mallorca, with some stunning sunset views. Seeing as she has to get back to London by Sunday to host the After Sun show, it’s safe to say she’ll be heading into the villa in the coming days, if she hasn’t already.

Should that be the case, it means the scenes will be playing out on our screens sometime soon – but what could the huge twist be?

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “Maya is going back to the villa soon as she’s back in Mallorca from what i saw on her IG.”

What she’ll be entering the villa for is currently unknown, but many predict the iconic Casa Amor will be starting soon…

“I smell Casa Amor coming very soon,” wrote one fan, while another said: “Casa Amor is soon and there’s no strong couples… There will genuinely be 30 people in that villa.”

Despite Casa Amor being a fan favourite segment in the show, this year, fans don’t think it will bring the same level of drama. In previous years, the new villa has been known to break up some of the strongest couples.

Fans now predict that due to there not being many solid couples in the villa, more Islanders than ever before will chose to couple up.

This series promises more twists and turns than ever, so is Maya heading into the villa for Casa Amor? Or could it be something else?

Love Island host Maya Jama has hit back at claims producers are ‘too involved’ in what happens in the show. The ITV2 star, who is the face of the popular dating programme, claimed that the show is “real” but producers do step in to “encourage” the islanders to have specific talks with each other.

During her appearance on The Chunkz Show, she insisted she gets results about who gets dumped from the villa at the same time as all the other contestants. Maya admitted: “I’ve never said the wrong name, but there are cameras constantly around and they like the dramatic pauses.

“There is a lot of me saying something and then it waits. It’s funny with the new Islanders, where they’re not used to me saying something and then pausing for ages and they’re all looking around like ‘is she frozen?’.

“I feel so awkward for them because they’re just standing there in their little outfits.” She went on to tell host Chunkz that the producers don’t get involve but ‘encourage’ the stars to talk to each other.

“I don’t know if it’s illegal or what but they can’t tell them what to do,” Maya said. “The ’most they can do is encourage them to have a little chat, but it has to be real because it’s reality.

“I do this technique where I don’t let them tell me who’s going until I’m stood in front of them in my ear because I don’t want to stare at the person or give away.”

She added: “Literally as I say it, I find out one second before anyone else.” Meanwhile, fans recently had another complaint when it came to a fan-favourite challenge of the show.

After the recoupling came the Heart Rate Challenge but fans were left fuming when they realised an iconic part of the show had been changed. Instead of sitting around the firepit, the Islanders were sat in a row on chairs.

The Islanders were over the moon when Shakira read out a text that said: “Islanders, it’s time to get each others’ pulses racing in tonight’s Boys vs Girls challenge. #HeartthrobMode #BootyandBeats”.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans complained about the change. One said: “this might be the worst heart rate challenge in history… why are they sitting on wooden chairs.”

Another responded: “Why the f**k are they in these chairs and not around the fire pit this show is losing it’s traditions.”

“I just know trying to dance on them on those plastic chairs is so uncomfortable and awkward,” as a fourth wrote: “I think I’m gonna die of cringe somehow them being on chairs makes this worse.”

An ITV star and her brother have signed up to Celebrity Gogglebox, despite Maya Jama and Omar becoming stars in their own right their new career venture sees them team up

Love Island host and ITV star Maya Jama appeared with her brother Omar on last night’s Celebrity Gogglebox. The pair made their “wild” debut on the Channel 4 hit show, alongside a slew of familiar faces from the UK.

Omar, 28, is Maya’s younger brother, and although the pair remain close despite Maya’s meteoric rise to fame, the Bristolian is a star in his own right. Having followed Maya’s lead and made his way into showbiz, Omar has modelled for some huge brands, including Celine, Etro Fashion and Portuguese Soul.

The siblings teased their Gogglebox appearance on social media, appearing together to tell Maya’s 3.2 million followers that they would be on the show. Sitting next to her brother, Maya, 30, told the camera: “Hi everyone. It’s Maya and my brother Omar.

“We are so excited to be on Gogglebox this Friday 9pm. Make sure you tune in and hear us chatting absolute rubbish.”

Omar added: “Yeah, we’ll be there, will you?” She captioned the clip: “Me an my brother are on gogglebox tonight! Hoping they edited out most of the wild stuff that out of our mouths Loo but how funnn.”

Fans were blown away by their similarities, with one writing: “Male version I swear. Trippy.” Another commented: “Wow they look so much alike.”

Another added that they were hoping to catch her with her Man City star boyfriend penning: “We wanted Ruben Dias.” Someone else joked that they were torn over what to put on, replying: “Oh god, how’s this gonna work then dying to know what happens on Love Island tonight, and now you’re on my other fav gogglebox. For the latest series, Celebrity Gogglebox has signed up some of the biggest names from across the board to appear on the reality TV show, in which celebs are filmed watching and reacting to popular television shows. Darts star Luke Littler is joined by YouTuber Angry Ginge, while other celebrity pairings have returned.

Nick Grimshaw is back, with his sidekick and niece Liv, who he says is like a little sister to him. Happy Mondays stars Shaun Ryder and Bez are also back, playing up to their Madchester personas for viewers.

And in a Celebrity Gogglebox first, two Strictly Come Dancing judges have joined this season’s cast. Craig Revel Horwood and Anton du Beke signed up to offer their views on some of the country’s TV for the show.

The co-stars and close pals are the first judges of the BBC dance competition to sign up to appear on the Channel 4 show, which is now in its seventh series since starting in 2019. Anton and Craig have worked on BBC One for over 20 years, and are the OGs having started together when it launched in 2004.

Prior to that, they knew each other on the dance circuit. Also appearing is Strictly lifer Tess Daly’s husband, Vernon Kay.

Anton told the Mirror: “I’m super excited to be swapping the judges chair for a comfy sofa! Sitting down with my dear friend and fellow Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood to enjoy a bit of telly on this new series of Gogglebox.”
