Emmerdale’s April Windsor is set for worrying scenes on the ITV soap, as a villain of sorts, Callum, ‘returned from the dead’ in a twist on Wednesday, and April has no idea

There was a dark twist on Emmerdale on Wednesday, as a murdered character was confirmed to be very much alive.
It’s bad news for April Windsor to some degree, as she’s been allowed to believe the person is still dead. This will continue too, with her kept in the dark about the character’s true fate.
Last week we saw April left in danger, as drug dealer Ray Walters sent her on a job with a client. When he tried to force her into sleeping with the client to pay off her debt, she was horrified.
When April told Callum, the client, she couldn’t go through with it, he turned on her. Grabbing her and trying to force himself on her, he said there was no escape and he’d “do it anyway” even after her stating she did not want to have sex with him.
Fighting for survival, April ended up slamming him over the head with a vodka bottle in self-defence. Shaken, she escaped and told Ray and Celia Daniels that Callum was dead.
Ray headed to his home to check on Callum and when he returned to the village, he confirmed to a distressed April that he was in fact dead and she’d killed him. Both Celia and Ray taunted April about her being a murderer and said she’d go to prison.
When she declared she needed to report her crime and threatened to expose them, the criminals made it clear that if April spoke out, she and her family would be in danger. So April is now struggling to come to terms with being a killer.
Of course she has no idea, and fans didn’t either until Wednesday, that Callum isn’t dead. He’s injured but he’s absolutely fine, and survived the attack.
So Ray’s claims that he disposed of Callum’s body and that April killed him are a lie, and he and Celia know it. They’re now using it against April to keep her doing as they say, meaning more bad news ahead for April when she has to stay in line, but also if Callum reveals his fate, he could get her in serious trouble.
In a twist at the end of the episode, Callum was with Ray in his car and he talked about his head hurting. Ray told him to stay silent and take some pain relief, making it clear he couldn’t do anything about April.
Viewers were stunned by the twist but many said they “knew it”, having figured out Ray would lie to April to target her. Taking to social media, one fan said: “I knew it, I f***ing knew it.”
Another fan said: “I didn’t think he would be.” A further fan posted: “I KNEW he wasn’t dead!!!!!”
Strictly Come Dancing fans have reacted to news of the latest elimination after a spoiler leaked online following an eventful Halloween Week on the BBC competition

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left ‘heartbroken’ after a spoiler revealed who has been eliminated from the BBC dance competition. Fans will know that the results show traditionally airs on Sundays but is pre-recorded immediately after the live show on a Saturday evening, and news is often leaked online.
This time around, it was Halloween Week on Strictly, and it was eventful from start to finish. With judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse all dressed up in spectacular spooky gear, and the contestants all embodying creepy and kooky personas for the evening, it was Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope who topped the leader board with a perfect score of 40, a first for this series.
Just before the result was confirmed, rumours had already started to swirl and one fan wrote: “Genuinely worried this will come true again. Why are my faves always in danger?” Another said: “ffs I hope this is wrong,” and one fan admitted: “I ain’t sleeping until that spoiler drops, I’m on EDGE”
Another admitted: “got strictly spoiled for me last week bc someone updated the wikipedia page by like midnight based on the leaked spoiler while me and my sister were in depth examining the judges evil scoring HOWEVER this week im looking intentionally bc im getting nervous.”
A fourth fan said: “I wish there was a poll on X where we can see a live accurate version of what the votes look like cause waiting for the strictly spoiler poll is painful.”
At the end of Saturday’s show, it was revealed that Shirley would have the deciding vote when it came to deciding who would survive the dreaded dance off.
While the Mirror have decided not to leak the spoiler, fans have already been reacting online to the leaked elimination news. One simply wrote: “Noooooo,” and left a sad emoji and a broken heart with their tweet.
Another said: “the strictly spoiler. omg,” whilst a third admitted: “I had a feeling this was going to be the result. Devastated for the parson who left but it was the correct result sadly. Heartbroken for the other person too but I hope this means they’ll come back fighting next week.”
Last week, footballer Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink and Lauren Oakley were sent home following a tense dance-off with musical theatre star Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin.
Speaking after the elimination, Jimmy said he never expected to enjoy the show so much. “I can only say thank you very much for letting me have this experience and to my daughters for pushing me to come here and do this.
“I never expected that I would enjoy it this much. The people behind the scenes, from the wardrobe people to the hairdressers to the make-up people, are absolutely magnificent – thank you very much.
“This experience is going to live with me forever. Most importantly, [to Lauren] this girl, she is just absolutely incredible. She has been absolutely amazing with me. You are a diamond,” he told Lauren.
Emmerdale may have aired a brutal and unexpected death on Thursday night, as one teen committed a violent act in self-defence as the County Lines plot escalated

Another death could be looming on Emmerdale, months on from multiple characters facing grim demises.
Thursday’s episode hinted a character had been killed off without warning, while another villager could face a grim fate too. A character was attacked with a glass bottle, and left lifeless and bleeding in dramatic scenes.
There was also concern for missing teenager Dylan Penders who had not been seen since another run-in with villain Ray Walters. As for the possible death victim, newcomer Callum was attacked in self-defence by teenager April Windsor.
She was left shaken when she saw Callum slumped on the bed after she hit him, with blood pouring from his head. He looked dead if not seriously injured, while fans will have to tune in on Friday to find out his fate.
He had just forced himself on April, attempting to rape her after she tried to flee the room they were in. She’d been sent there by Ray and evil Celia, who are heading up a dangerous drugs scheme which April and Dylan have been drugged into.
Convincing April and Dylan they are in serious debt, Ray and Celia have made it clear that they expect 16-year-old April to have sex with their clients to pay the money back, and to keep their clients returning. The grim storyline has also seen the pair getting closer to other villagers linked to April to put on the pressure.
April is terrified, and reluctantly agreed to meet with client Callum knowing he was paying Ray and Celia to sleep with her. As the episode went on, a scared April decided she didn’t want to go through with it.
Callum turned on her though, claiming he didn’t care what she did or didn’t want and he was “gonna do it anyway”. He then warned her there was no escape as he’d locked them both in.
As he began to undress the teenager, April freaked out and pushed him away only for him to grab her. As she managed to get him off, she picked up the vodka bottle and slammed it over his head.
Callum landed on the bed lifeless, with blood pouring out from his head. April gasped as she watched on terrified, but has she killed him? If she has, how will Celia and Ray react?
It comes as Mark Charnock, who plays April’s father Marlon Dingle, teased a massive twist is on the way. He said something that happens in a special episode with April and Marlon left him “thrown”.
Emmerdale have released a preview for next week that sees Kev make his return to the village after his prison release, where he drops a claim on a confused Victoria Sugden
00:00, 18 Oct 2025Updated 00:09, 18 Oct 2025
Robert Sugden’s drama with his secret husband Kev continues on Emmerdale next week.
The character is still hiding the truth about Kev, with only his sister Victoria Sugden knowing who he is. But even she is in for a bombshell of her own, thanks to a comment made by Kev next week.
A new preview shows the moment Robert and Kev are reunited, hugging it out as Kev shows up to see him. Of course he’s staying with his partner Aaron Dingle, with both Aaron and Kev unaware of each other’s situation with Robert.
That all changes next week when Aaron spots Kev and Robert kissing, and the truth comes to light. Prior to this, Robert is hiding his whereabouts from Kev, claiming to be working on the farm when actually he’s been with Aaron.
He’s still trying to live two separate lives until he has to spill all, still believing he can keep Aaron and Kev separate. But Kev’s bombshell claim to Victoria sparks more questions, as it emerges Robert has lied about his sister.
Kev announces that Victoria is “looking well” for someone who has had brain surgery. Victoria is baffled, demanding answers from Robert who confesses he lied that he was caring for her.
Having to explain why he’s not been visiting Kev, he’s lied to his husband that Victoria had an operation on her brain and needed to be looked after. In the preview clip, Kev checks in on Victoria with Robert watching on awkwardly.
Victoria then finds out from Kev that he’s staying with Charles and Claudette Anderson as part of his outreach programme. Victoria points out Robert didn’t tell her this information, to which he feigns surprise over missing out this part.
When Kev pops out of the room, Victoria wastes no time in making it clear to Robert that the time is now to confess all. With Kev now staying in the village, she knows it’s only a matter of time before he and Aaron meet.
With that, she tells Robert he has to confess about Kev to Aaron before he finds out from someone else. Robert places his head in his hands, realising he’s in trouble.
Next week spoilers have revealed Kev is introduced to Charles and Claudette, and he soon runs into Aaron. A teaser preview has hinted that Robert tells both Aaron and Kev that neither of them have anything to worry about – but will he regret this?
Emmerdale have confirmed they will be airing three special standalone episodes featuring key storylines this autumn as we delve deeper into the biggest storylines in the Dales
Emmerdale will air three special standalone episodes featuring key storylines this autumn
Emmerdale will air three special standalone episodes featuring key storylines this autumn including a reflective look behind the bars of Robert Sugden’s incarceration and Bear’s recent disappearance.
Earlier this year, Emmerdale fans were left in shock when Ryan Hawley made his dramatic return to the soap, reprising his role as Robert Sugden, crashing the wedding of his brother John Sugden and Aaron Dingle. Robert was sent to prison in 2019 after being sentenced to life for the murder of Lee Posner.
Now, this autumn, fans will be able to see what really went down over those six years – and if it changed him forever. Fans are aware that Robert has a ‘secret husband’, Kev, whom he met in prison, who has recently been released and is living in the village.
Elsewhere, another episode will answer all the unanswered questions about Bear’s disappearance. The soap will explore the hundred missing days of Bear’s life, and viewers will learn that he is sadly trapped in an all too common situation for a forgotten generation…
When Paddy and Bear found life under the same roof difficult, Bear decided to leave for another life in Ireland. Paddy believed his estranged father was safe with friends in Ireland, but it becomes apparent that he wasn’t there at all – but where did he disappear to?
Lastly, another special episode set to air in Autumn will explore this fragile and possibly broken relationship between April Dingle and her father, Marlon, as she slips further away from his grasp.
It comes after April’s storyline in which the teen is at the mercy of the merciless drug dealers.
Emmerdale have not confirmed an exact date for these standalone episodes, but fans can expect them to air sometime this autumn.
Fans of the ITV soap can expect a lot more twists and turns over the final months of 2026 as stars including Bradley Riches, Shebz Miah, Lisa Riley, Ash Palmisciano, Beth Cordingly, Rosie Bentham and Bradley Johnson spilled the beans to the Mirror at the Inside Soap Awards.
After the special standalone episode, we’ll be getting ready for all the Christmas drama – and it’s set to be dramatic.
So much so, Lewis Barton actor Bradley said fans would be saying “what the f**k” when they see what goes down.
Vinny Dingle star Bradley Johnson and Mandy Dingle star Lisa also teased a devastating storyline for Bear, which will run through to Christmas and then past Christmas too. Bradley said: “We’ve got the Bear storyline coming up!” whilst Lisa added: “We don’t know where Bear is.
The drama on Emmerdale continues Friday at 7:30 PM on ITV1 and STV, or from 7:00 AM on ITVX and STV Player.
IT is set to be one of the most momentous occasions in soap history.
For the first time ever, ITV‘s landmark shows will be combining for an epic hour of soap drama that is being teased as changing the course of both programmes forever.

This is who I think should be killed off in CorriedaleCredit: ITV
This January, Coronation Street and Emmerdale will join forces for the aptly titled Corriedale to herald the stars of the new ‘soap power hour’.
It’s a clever, bold and HUGE move by ITV with both programmes having faced mass cast axings, job cuts, dwindling ratings and general backlash from fans over the past few years.
It is hoped by executives that the special show will help to revitalise both shows and kickstart a new era for the programmes – as well as being a clever way to conceal the fact they’ve both lost 30 minutes of screen-time a week.
From next year, both shows will air for just 30 minutes per night – the equivalent of five episodes per week unlike the current six.
But with the epic stunt set to take place, which is currently being filmed on long night shoots and being kept tightly under wraps, there promises to be the deaths of fan-favourite characters from both programmes.
Being such a historic moment in TV means that it should come with an utterly unforgettable death that will go down in the soap historybooks.
With only one chance to get it right, here is who I think ITV should kill off now.
Eric Pollard
6
Time is up for Eric in the DalesCredit: ITV
Yes, you read that right.
Emmerdale bosses need to make an impact and as such, they should volunteer their longest-serving character ever as a sacrifice.
Not only would killing Eric off be the biggest unexpected twist that would have people gasping up and down the country, it would lay the foundations for the village to truly be changed forever.
Having been portrayed by Chris Chittell since 1986, he has become part of the foundation in the Dales.
But as an avid viewer, it hasn’t gone unnoticed that he has fallen into a rather bumbling repeated pattern of storyline in recent years.
Fans often see Eric disappear from screens for a number of weeks before popping back up to have a new brief crisis.
It quickly results in him snapping at anyone in sight and becoming public enemy number one with his grumpy old man act.
But just as quickly as the crisis arises, he soon realises the error of his ways and makes peace with his family and friends in true story-telling fashion.
Frankly, we’ve seen it multiple times and we really don’t need to see it again.
If bosses aren’t planning on placing Eric in a new mass murder plot or turn him into the Dales’ next gangster, I fear his potential plots have naturally come to an end.
Be brave Emmerdale and let go of your longest player if you truly want a memorable moment.
April Windsor
6
Axing April Windsor might be the best decision all roundCredit: ITV
The other character I think Dales bosses should be offering up to meet their maker in the crossover could not be more opposite to Eric.
If they don’t make their big death the village OAP then yes, a wayward teen schoolgirl is the next best way to go.
Played by Amelia Flanagan, April has been one of Emmerdale’s biggest success stories in terms of transition from very young child performer to a teen actress who is able to hold her own when it comes to lengthy and gritty storylines.
However, her transition from wise-beyond-her-years 10-year-old to a reckless and easily-influenced 15-year-old has never sat right.
Over the past 12 months, goody-two-shoes April has become soap’s most troubled teen ever out of nowhere.
She went missing for months, became homeless, began underage drinking, went through a heartbreaking teen stillbirth whilst living on the streets and has now found herself a drug mule in a shocking county lines storyline.
I can’t help but think this unexpected character development could be for one bigger reason.
Having faced many brushes with death over her chaotic year, the soap stunt could be the perfect time to portray a real story of a teen tragedy.
Seeing a teenager killed off would have the shock factor to last years if done correctly.
April meeting a tragic end also allows for the soap to delve into family heartache and tragedy following her potential passing.
MY EMMERDALE VERDICT: Emmerdale needs to go to the extremes and for me, it’s either the show’s oldest character or on the flip-side, one of their youngest.
Sean Tully
6
Sean Tully has certainly overstayed his welcomeCredit: ITV
When it comes to who Corrie could offer up for their soap death, the first person that comes to mind (and, let’s be honest, most fans’) would be Sean Tully.
How Sean has scraped through 22 years on the Street boggles the mind.
As both a TV journalist and viewer of the programme, I am yet to encounter anyone, either personally or professionally, who would make a campaign to save Antony Cotton’s character from getting the axe.
Of course, Sean does have many ties to the faces of Weatherfield and would likely see some moving performances from them in the aftermath of his passing.
But with the character having truly lacked a notable storyline for close to 10 years, his spot on the soap is purely taking away space from another character who could help provide a much-needed boost to the already fledgling soap.
And let’s be real, Corrie needs to be saving all the money it can amid the ongoing cash crisis.
Whilst killing Sean off would realistically go rather unnoticed in the long-run of the soap, marking the end of such a universally disliked character will have soap fans rejoicing in their droves and for that alone, Coronation Street will have achieved a milestone.
Dee-Dee Bailey
6
Fans are set to lose the budding Street icon so let’s give her a proper send-offCredit: ITV
It is safe to say, amid a crowd of unnecessary and irritating new characters since the pandemic, Dee-Dee has been a true breathe of fresh air.
She exudes classic Corrie and Channique is a formidable actress.
But with her choosing to walk away after just four years, I worry that she’s about to fall into a bad trap.
We have seen it time and time again with incredible actresses leaving soap after just a few short years at the promise of breaking out into even bigger roles.
But despite their talent, they fade into the abyss and the characters are too forgettable to encourage bosses to ever bring them back.
Case and point Amy James Kelly, who played Maddie Heath on Corrie between 2013 and 2015.
She rocked Weatherfield to its core but with Amy quickly being predicted for bigger and better things on Corrie, she quit before she became too tied down to the role.
But her star power soon faded and she failed to be the big star everyone had hoped and Maddie became forgotten about much quicker than expected.
I’d hate this to happen to Channique but I fear it may be written in the stars.
But if bosses decide to place Dee-Dee at the forefront of their most anticipated episode since 2010’s Tram Crash (which did wonders for the legacy of Molly Dobbs played by the iconic Vicky Binns) then they will cement her in the history books for YEARS to come.
Whilst I don’t want to see Dee-Dee die, it could be her only hope of remaining a Corrie icon.
MY CORONATION STREET VERDICT: When it comes to the Corrie death, bosses either need to take one for the team and free audiences from an abysmal character or preserve the legacies of who could have been a Street Queen.
Emmerdale aired worrying scenes for an emotional Moira Dingle on Friday night as she collapsed from exhaustion, amid her husband Cain Dingle being AWOL on the ITV soap
Emmerdale aired worrying scenes for an emotional Moira Dingle on Friday night as she collapsed from exhaustion(Image: ITV)
There was concern for Moira Dingle on Emmerdale on Friday as the character collapsed.
Just last year the character was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent treatment. Before her diagnosis she experienced funny turns, memory loss, blackouts and she suffered from seizures.
So when Matty Barton watched his mum suddenly collapse out in the field during Friday’s episode, he feared the worst. He got her inside and helped her onto the sofa, but Moira said she was fine.
Matty was desperate to call doctor Liam Cavanagh to check her over, but Moira told him not to and that nothing was wrong. Panicking after her collapsing a year ago due to her tumour, Matty confessed his concerns that she might be unwell again.
Moira had seemed a bit off all episode, clearly tired and seeming a little rundown. She called out Kammy Hadiq, and was clearly stressed out and was rushing around.
When doing work on the farm she suddenly fell down to the ground. As Matty later asked her: “What if you are sick again?” she commented that she wasn’t and instead she was just “really tired”.
Matty was unsure though, remembering what they had gone through a year ago. Moira repeated her claim though, and suggested she may have picked up a virus or something but that she wasn’t sick again.
She said to him: “I’m sorry I scared you, darling. I’m just really tired, that’s all it is. Maybe I’ve picked up a virus, the last thing I need is to be ill.” Moira went on: “It’s just hard at the minute.”
Moira told Matty about how much she was struggling without her husband Cain being around, after he fled to chase killer John Sugden who murdered his son Nate Robinson. With her having to do everything and keep an eye on it all, she revealed she was finding it all difficult.
Matty told her she wasn’t “fine” and was clearly “not coping”, something she had admitted to. With that, he fumed about his stepfather Cain’s vanishing act, reminding Moira he was going through his own grief, after the loss of his wife Amy Wyatt this year.
Moira defended Cain though, no doubt recalling how she felt after the loss of a child. But Matty wasn’t sympathetic and seeing how much his mum had been impacted, he urged her to tell her husband to come home immediately – but is Matty right to be concerned about Moira?
Emmerdale revealed this week that newcomer Celia was the mastermind behind the County Lines dealing currently targeting the teens on the ITV soap, and she’s linked to dealer Ray

Emmerdale revealed this week that newcomer Celia was the mastermind behind the County Lines dealing(Image: PA)
The latest episode of Emmerdale may have teased who could bring down villain Celia, following a war of words with her secret ‘son’ Ray.
Viewers were left stunned this week when they found out farmer Celia was actually the mastermind behind the drugs operation, led by Ray, going on in and out of the village. With teens Dylan and April dragged into it and facing huge debts, it was thought that sinister Ray was in charge, while he did refer to a ‘boss’ who we had not met.
Thursday saw Celia turn dark though, after weeks of her claiming to be one of the good ones… sort of. She befriended Moira Dingle and targeted the Tates, but this whole time she has been running a corrupt scheme in a shocking County Lines storyline.
With it set to continue, Thursday’s episode saw Celia reveal she was in charge and calling all the shots, as she lectured Ray and reduced him to a terrified wreck. He referred to her as being his mum this week, with it confirmed that she raised him from a young age and dragged him into this world.
With Dylan groomed and manipulated into Ray and Celia’s criminal ways, more recently it was April who was targeted while it seems Ray has experienced the same. A scene on Friday saw the pair clash as Ray and Celia came to blows over “Ray’s mess”.
April had accidentally dropped some pills at her home before heading out to do a drop at Ray’s request. Her younger brother Leo was rushed to hospital after taking one, while April was forced to lie to the police about Celia.
This mess with the police and their drugs left Celia acting fast and scolding Ray, blaming him. On Friday, Ray called his ‘mum’ out for the “nasty” things she said before implying she had been violent towards him in the past.
Talking about her “lashing out” he said: “I’ve got the scars to prove it.” He then made a death admission about her, making it clear he wanted rid of her.
He said: “I wish I could leave home. Actually, I wish I could stay and you’d be dead.” Celia wasn’t even unnerved, telling Ray: “Finally, growing a pair.”
Ray went to storm off but Celia grabbed him, telling him: “You wouldn’t last five minutes.” She then kissed him on the cheek and he stormed out. But will Ray act on his threat?
Could we see Ray trigger the downfall of Celia after years of being forced to do her dirty work, and hints of abuse too? Maybe he will take a deadly revenge. We’ll just have to wait and see!
Fans are already buzzing about what could go wrong… or right!
The two soaps are going all out, with production teams cooking up a jaw-dropping stunt that promises life-changing consequences for the characters involved.
ITV Executive Producer for Continuing Drama Iain Macleod said: “It’s beyond exciting that filming is underway on Corriedale.
“There is a massive buzz around both the Leeds and Manchester sites and the images coming out of the shoot are utterly spectacular.
“And that’s before we’ve even got to all the brilliant transpennine interactions between characters from the different shows!
“As a soap fan myself, I think my head is going to explode when the episode airs next year.
“It will be mind-blowing, historical and unmissable.”
There will also be an interactive twist for fans to determine one part of the episode.
Explosive Emmerdale twist as real villain behind drugs gang is exposed – and they’re a very familiar face
A vote will be opened allowing soap fans to choose which Emmerdale and Coronation Street character will share a carefully-written scene together as part of the episode.
Corriedale is set to hit screens on ITV and YouTube in early 2026 – kicking off the brand-new soap power hour.
From then on, Emmerdale will roll out at 8pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8.30pm, every weekday in a double dose of drama.
The schedule change sees both soaps lose one episode a week amid dwindling ratings.
Soaps are no stranger to dramatic stunts in the storylines. Not only do these moments create a spectacle for viewers, they also fundamentally change characters’ lives.
Here is a look at some of the biggest soap stunts from over the years.
CORONATION STREET
Tram crash (2010): The ITV soap marked its 50th anniversary with a intense tram crash – and live episode to boot. Overall, the crash and its effects were broadcast across a week in December 2010. Its resulting chaos saw regular characters Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold) and Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) die.
Richard Hillman tries to kill the Platts (2003): Of all the men unlucky-in-love Gail tied the knot with, Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) is probably the one she regrets most in hindsight. In 2003, murderer Richard tried to kill his step-family: first by gassing them with car fumes and then driving Gail (Helen Worth), Sarah (Tina O’Brien), David (Jack P. Shepherd) and Bethany (Amy and Emily Walton) into a canal.
EASTENDERS
Queen Vic fire (2010): In September 2010, EastEnders bid farewell to matriarch Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) as a permanent fixture on the soap – she returned as a guest before the character’s death in 2016. In the build-up to her initial exit, Peggy had trapped crack cocaine-addicted son Phil (Steve McFadden) in the Queen Vic. However, he escaped and set the boozer on fire.
Bus crash (2017): In April 2017, a total of 11 Albert Square residents had their lives at risk in a terrifying bus crash. The stunt saw a double decker bus – the 764 to Barking – lose control and crash through the Albert Square market before hitting a low-level bridge. Notable passengers at the time included Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper).
EMMERDALE
James Barton’s death (2016): Interestingly about James’ (Bill Ward) death was that it came in a spiral of events. After wife Emma (Gillian Kearney) locked James up in a jealous rage, he escaped and they tussled on a bridge over the bypass. Emma pushed him and James fell into traffic, in turn causing a 12-vehicle pile up, As well as James dying, key characters including Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) were injured.
Emmerdale’s Ryan Hawley and Danny Miller told The Mirror there’s ‘explosive’ twists to come for Robron on the ITV soap with the arrival of Robert Sugden’s secret husband Kev

With a reunion confirmed for Emmerdale‘s Robron, it seems there’s still the challenge of Robert Sugden’s secret husband Kev to deal with.
Wednesday night’s episode saw Robert and his soulmate Aaron Dingle finally reunite onscreen, agreeing to give their love another chance. They decided to keep it between them for now, but of course this isn’t the only secret Robert’s hiding.
We met his secret husband Kev this week, and now The Mirror can reveal the character will be back in the village soon – and fans should expect explosive twists and turns. With a new love triangle of sorts in true soap fashion, Robert is left torn over keeping things on track with Aaron, and making Kev happy in his final months following the bombshell that he is dying.
Soon enough, it becomes clear Kev will cause problems for Robert and his relationship with Aaron. Robert actor Ryan Hawley told us: “It would be boring if true love ran smoothly in a soap wouldn’t it?
“Poor Robert is going to have this huge dilemma and it’s a stressful time for him. He’s come back to the village to try to stop a marriage and now there is this other guy who is dying.
“When Aaron finds out Robert has a husband, it’s going to be explosive. But all is not what it seems and Kev is volatile, broken, damaged and he creates so many problems for Robert and Aaron.”
Aaron actor Danny Miller dubbed Kev an “endearing psychopath”, as he mocked the likeness to Aaron’s killer husband John Sugden. He told us: “It’s a new way of actually highlighting how Aaron and Robert do think the same – they have both found psychopaths separately in their lives who have both come in between them to really test their love and passion.
“Chris is brilliant as Kev and he’s a great addition.” Ryan agreed: “He has such a lot of experience. It’s great to be working with him and Danny together.”
But Ryan did share hope for Robron, with he and Danny thrilled to see the pair back together again. He shared: “All the obstacles are out the way and Robert and Aaron are free to be back together. They agree to keep it a secret because they don’t want the distraction of other people’s opinions – after all, Aaron has just found out his husband is a serial killer, he’s out of a coma and his husband is on the run.
“It’s time to move on! The fact it is so soon and he is jumping in with Robert doesn’t matter to them. They think it is best for them.” As for whether Robron will ever walk down the aisle again, the truth is something not even the actors know.
Both agree it would, however, be the perfect icing on the cake if they did. “Hopefully one day, they will be able to be out in the open and honest with everyone,” said Danny. “But we will just have to wait and see!”
Emmerdale’s latest episode reveals who mystery newcomer Kev, played by actor Chris Coghill, really is and how he’s linked to Robert Sugden on the ITV soap amid a new twist

There’s a big discovery on Emmerdale on Monday, as newcomer Kev’s link to Robert Sugden comes to light.
Actor Chris Coghill debuts on the ITV soap in the episode that is available to watch on ITVX now. In said episode, we finally find out who he is and why he’s in the village.
The Mirror have chosen not to give these details away just yet for viewers tuning in to ITV1 on Monday evening. This article does contain some slight spoilers though, so look away now if you want to avoid any details.
In the episode, Kev locates Robert and he soon gets invited into his home. It follows Friday’s episode that saw someone, known as K, texting Robert and leaving him unnerved.
The message asked Robert to “stop ignoring” him, and Robert began looking around to see if anyone was watching him. On Monday, we see Kev arrive in the village and asking for directions to where he might find Robert.
Robert opens the door to a very familiar face, Kev. As he watches to see if anyone has spotted them together, he quickly closes the door and it becomes clear they know each other.
In this episode it details who he is and how he and Robert know each other, as we learn more about his time in prison. Victoria Sugden, Robert’s sister, walks in on the pair holding hands and quickly questions what is going on.
Confused, she demands answers with Robert left to explain who Kev is. Viewers can expect an explanation about it all, while later in the week spoilers reveal Robert is caught up in a “tricky situation” that he has caused for himself.
But what does this mean for Robert and Aaron Dingle, amid hopes of a Robron reunion? On Friday Aaron tried to kiss his ex, after a traumatic few weeks thanks to his killer husband John Sugden.
Robert rejected the kiss though, telling Aaron that he didn’t want them to reunite “like this”, knowing what Aaron was going through. Aaron initially acted out over this but soon realised Robert was supporting him.
He told Robert he couldn’t get through the turmoil on his own, grateful to have him by his side even if “just as mates”. Robert promised he’d help “fix” him and that he was going nowhere – but what will Kev’s arrival bring to the pair, and how will Aaron react to Kev’s arrival when he finds out?
Emmerdale newcomer Kev is shown in a first-look clip for Monday’s episode, that sees him and Robert Sugden discussing some ‘big news’ ahead of their link being explained
00:00, 27 Sep 2025Updated 00:08, 27 Sep 2025
There’s a new arrival on Emmerdale next week, and a new video preview has teased scenes with Robert Sugden.
Newcomer Kev makes his debut on Monday and it soon becomes clear he and Robert are known to each other from their time in prison. Monday’s episode will reveal all, with Robert’s secrets in terms of his past with Kev and their mystery link coming to light.
A new preview has revealed Kev shares some “big news” with Robert, that leaves him emotional. Robert tells Kev he’s “gutted”, and it’s something Kev has had to “get his head around”.
It’s clear he’s keen for Robert’s support, wanting him to make him laugh, while Robert seems shocked by what he has uncovered. Fans will find out what it is when the episode airs next week.
They will also see the moment Robert’s confused sister Victoria Sugden walks in and sees them together. Questioning what she’s walked into, Robert is clearly hiding something from Kev.
Kev knows all about Robert’s sister, leaving her surprised. But as Robert claims Victoria knows who Kev is, he pulls a face at her that makes it abundantly clear he’s never mentioned him – while Kev doesn’t see this.
So why exactly is Robert hiding Kev from Victoria? Again, all will be revealed as the scenes air on Monday. In the clip shared, Robert tells Kev: “I’m gutted for you,” and he seems upset and shocked.
Kev replies: “I’ve got my head around it. I just need you to smile, make me laugh, distract me.” In that moment Victoria walks in and says: “Oh I’m sorry, am I interrupting?”
Robert tells her: “I didn’t know you were gonna be back so soon,” to which she says: “Clearly…” But Kev already knows who she is, saying: “Victoria, it’s so nice to finally meet you.”
Confused she’s even more baffled when Robert claims to have told her all about Kev. He then pulls a face at her as if to encourage her to play along, as Kev says he has to leave but hopes to see them again.
Robert claims they can meet properly next time, to which he comments: “I’ll bring something for Harry, too.” Victoria looks alarmed at this, before it’s clear she wants answers.
It comes as the latest episode of the ITV soap hinted at a Robron reunion for Robert and his ex Aaron Dingle. The pair seemed closer and Aaron tried to kiss his ex, only for Robert to say it wasn’t the right time.
Emmerdale actress Katie Hill, who plays Sarah Sugden on the ITV soap, has hinted her character may not forgive her grandmother Charity Dingle’s betrayal amid a baby twist

One Emmerdale star has teased a family could face heartache if a sad betrayal is to come to light.
Katie Hill, who plays Sarah Sugden on the ITV soap, hinted that regardless of the outcome of her character’s surrogacy storyline, a family could be torn apart. Viewers know that Sarah learned the distressing news earlier this year that she could not carry a child.
After treatment following a cancer diagnosis, a complication meant that Sarah could not have a successful pregnancy. Her grandmother Charity Dingle then offered to be a surrogate for Sarah and her partner Jacob Gallagher, offering to carry their child.
Charity underwent an embryo transfer, but after suffering from bleeding she was left fearing it had been unsuccessful and she ended up drowning her sorrows. This led to her cheating on her husband Mack Boyd with her ex flame Ross Barton.
When Charity found out she was pregnant, she had no idea if she was carrying Sarah’s baby or her own with Ross. Ross has demanded a DNA test, while Charity has not told Sarah that the child may not be her own.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actress Katie confessed she is unsure how Sarah would react if the truth ever came out. With it yet to be confirmed if the baby is Sarah’s or not, either way it will leave Sarah feeling betrayed due to the lies amid what is such a “massive” thing for her.
Katie hinted Sarah might not be able to forgive Charity after everything that she has been through. Asked if she could move past it, she told us: “I don’t know, it is a massive thing. She is so set on having her own baby, it’s all she has gone on about.
“I think it could be a big moment for Charity and Sarah if she ever found out. We’ll have to wait and see cos I don’t know how she would react. I can’t say anything, but it is big stuff and fans should keep watching.”
Spoilers have revealed that Charity struggles to keep her secret in upcoming scenes, especially as Ross keeps pushing her about whether he is the father or not. Charity sparks suspicion with her husband Mack who notices she seems uneasy.
As Charity continues to hide the truth from her loved ones, how long will it be before someone finds out? At some point she will find out whether the baby is her child or Sarah’s, but whether she tells anyone remains to be seen.

An Emmerdale star suffered an injury away from the set of the ITV soap and script writers had to acknowledge it in the latest episode of the long-running programme
00:02, 23 Sep 2025Updated 00:05, 23 Sep 2025
The injury was addressed in-universe when Tracy asked Mary how she had ended up walking with a cane(Image: ITV)
Emmerdale writers had to incorporate the real-life injury of one of its stars into Monday night’s episode. The ITV soap was in its usual slot at the beginning of the week, and Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) was seen walking with a cane.
In the Woolpack, Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) spotted Mary’s ailment when she ordered a drink and asked: “So, did you have a fall?”, but Mary seemingly issued a joke back.
As Mary handed her a glass of white wine, she told her: “No, I did it bungee jumping!”
Soaps tend to film around six to eight weeks ahead of broadcast, and actress Louise, 74, who is also known for her roles in other TV staples like EastEnders and Doctor Who, first told her fans of her leg injury in July, and noted that it had forced her to take time out of a her one woman show.
At the time, she wrote on X: “I’ve taken the ‘break a leg’ advice to its extreme. Apologies for the cancelled shows in Harrogate and Leeds of SHAKESPEARE’S MISTRESS. Rescheduling for the Autumn.
“In the meantime I lie here in my splint. Big shout out to LGI @NHS who took care of me last Monday [heart emoji].”
When a fan asked her: “Get well soon Louise is there an exciting tale behind the injury? Xx,” she replied: “Nope… A boring old fall xxx”
Earlier this year, fans were left uncertain whether an injury had actually occurred in real life after Mary sported a bandage wrapped around her hand and lower arm.
The character Mary explained that she’d fallen down the last couple of steps of the staircase at home, no doubt hitting or landing on the arm. She didn’t say specially what the injury was or if it was broken or sprained.
What she did say though was that she was fine after the fall, and would need a few weeks of rest before she could get the bandages off. Jacob appeared alarmed though, offering to take a look at the injury. She seemed keen to brush it under the carpet while it was clear Jacob was worried. It wasn’t made clear if Mary went to hospital or a doctor to get it checked out, or if she bandaged it up herself.
It was not clarified at the time whether it was an injury that had happened in real life, but it could have been a similar situation with scriptwriters having to work it into the story.
This often happens, and just recently on Coronation Street Kit Green actor Jacob Roberts had surgery on his leg and it was seemingly written into the show. There have been many other instances over the years where an injury or something else is written in.
Prior to that, Simon Gregson, who has played taxi driver Steve McDonald on Coronation Street since 1989, sustained a leg injury and it had to be put into the show.
He said: “I’ve broken my leg. I literally just went over and rolled my ankle, outside the back of the house. It was done in six places.
“I’m able to drive now, but walking across wet fields is a no for me. Because if I slip it’s back to square one.”
Asked if Corrie had to write his broken leg into the script, he said: “Yeah, they’ve written it in. They just kind of spoke about it. It’s like when Bobby Ewing woke up in the shower [in Dallas]. No one cares after about five minutes.”
Emmerdale’s John Sugden sneaks into the home of his siblings Robert and Victoria Sugden next week, armed with a filled syringe as he plots revenge on the ITV soap
00:00, 20 Sep 2025Updated 00:02, 20 Sep 2025
A spoiler video for next week’s Emmerdale hints at killer John Sugden’s next plan as he remains at large.
A first look for Monday shows the moment he sneaks into the home of his siblings Robert and Victoria Sugden, armed with a filled syringe. He looks as though he’s preparing to use it on either Robert or Victoria, no doubt the former.
It’s no secret that John hates his brother Robert, knowing his husband Aaron Dingle loves his ex Robert over him. It was this jealousy that made John drag Aaron off a cliff, nearly killing him.
But when Aaron woke from his coma, he was able to alert everyone about killer John’s crimes and the fact that poor Mack Boyd had been kidnapped. At the end of this week the truth about John was made clear and he seemed to have a new target.
Fans noticed that as Victoria and Robert hugged it out and Robert vowed to stay around, John was watching them intently. Now, a new preview hints John will plot revenge.

John sneaks into the house and is in the kitchen, listening in as Victoria and Robert discuss the situation and Aaron. John is keeping low, and suddenly takes a syringe out of his pocket as if he’s preparing to use it.
It’s filled with something no doubt to drug either Vic or Robert, and our money is on his brother. It’s not clear if he manages to use it, but it certainly confirms someone is in danger.
But will John be caught by his siblings, and will he go through with it? As Victoria shares her sadness over how things panned out, John appears remorseful and as though he could change his mind.
The chat outside sees Robert admit that Aaron is pushing him away, with him being accused of using the John situation to get back in his good books. Victoria suggests this is a fair comment to make knowing what Robert’s like.

But Robert insists he’d do no such thing, but that it’s clear Aaron is in no rush to reunite with him. Robert then appears sad, as he tells Victoria how much he “hates” John for what he’s done to him, to Aaron and to everyone else.
It’s then that Vic gets emotional, blaming herself over John. She shares how she was the one who asked him to stay in the village, as she questions if her brother even loved her or if it was all a lie.
Robert does his best to comfort his sister, unaware that his killer brother is behind the wall – so what happens next?

John has finally been exposed as a baddie, with it now known he framed Ella Forster for the harassment campaign against Chas and Liam. Kelli Hollis, who played Yvonne Karib in the Channel 4 show, has opened up about her time on the iconic comedy drama and how she recently re-watched it for the first time in years

Shameless was a huge hit on Channel 4
Two decades have passed since gritty comedy drama Shameless first graced our television screens – and one of the programme’s stars has recently revisited it for the first time in years.
The Channel 4 series ran for nearly ten years and was based on the fictional Chatsworth council estate in Manchester, where Frank Gallagher and his enormous family caused chaos at every turn.
Kelli Hollis, who also appeared in Emmerdale, memorably portrayed Yvonne Karib, a character who operated the neighbourhood shop and gave work to Frank’s son Ian, who subsequently began an affair with her spouse.
Speaking with the Manchester Evening News, Kelli, 49, revealed that she recently turned to Shameless for some evening viewing – and wasn’t let down.
“Shameless,” she remarked with affection. “I actually watched the first episode fully for the first time in years the other day. Everyone always asks me about Shameless and I watched the first episode which was interesting. You forget how good it is!”

Commending the programme created by Paul Abbott, she added: “When you say Shameless you think nudity, bad language, drugs and Frank Gallagher (played by David Threlfall) is the iconic character.
“But I think rewatching it, it is so beautiful when I think of some of the scenes. It is so well put together and it is actually a lot deeper than what people think. When you go back and watch it, you think, oh God yeah, it is actually really human in that respect.
“It is not just telling scandalous stories from a council estate. There is so much more to it so I really enjoyed watching it the other day.”

Shameless, now available on Netflix, aired its final episode in 2013 after an impressive run of 11 seasons and 139 episodes. Its popularity even sparked a US version – a successful series that ran from 2011 until 2021.
Despite the years, many fans still approach Kelli, a native of Beeston, Leeds, with questions about the show, and many recite memorable lines from Frank Gallagher, affectionately known as “Frankisms”.
One of his legendary quotes was: “People say the children are the future, teach them well and let them lead the way. But after you’ve had eight of your own, you realise that’s a load of ********. Darwin had the right idea; just leave the ****** to fend for themselves.”

Another gem included: “Son when you have them, little babies, you love them. Even if they’re real mingers. I mean when Ian was born he looked like David Gest.”
Kelli returned to the UK in November after spending over two years in Thailand. She reflected on Shameless following a powerful interview about her father, who was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod has revealed to the Mirror that a fan favourite will be killed off in the next few months which will send ripple effects down the cobbles

Coronation Street legend to be axed by bosses after ‘dramatic twists’
A Coronation Street favourite is set for a brutal exit, the soap’s boss has teased. Speaking ahead of the ITV show’s 65th anniversary in December, Iain MacLeod hinted a big character is set for the chop as the show plans a series of huge episodes to mark the milestone.
Promising “shocking twists”, Iain said fans will be shocked with what he has in store. “The soap gods demand a sacrifice when you have an event of this kind,” Iain, executive producer for continuing drama at ITV, shared. “It’s going to be shocking. There will be lots of trauma, lots of drama, lots of twists.”
Teasing the drama will surround characters we’ve come to know and love, Iain said he’s not scared to be ruthless. “Sometimes the biggest and best exits are for characters that you care the most about.
Corrie boss Iain has hinted at some huge changes in the coming months(Image: Getty Images)
“There’s always that equation where you think, ‘If they were to go, the viewers will really care, but what damage will it do to the landscape of the show in terms of the ability to tell stories?
“It’s a big responsibility so we do agonise about it quite a lot and argue about it. Our story conferences are fiery places at times and this period of the show is no different.”
Corrie will mark its 65th anniversary in December. There have been few details revealed about what the soap has planned to mark to momentous occasion but what we can expect is drama.

And some much-loved character will return. “There will be a few familiar faces coming back,” teased Iain. A huge episode for 2026 which will see the worlds of Corrie and Emmerdale come together in a momentous celebration of our soaps.
“All of it is feeding into this crossover episode we are doing in January,” explained Iain. “It’s going to get bigger and bigger. Things will peak in a big way.”
The show’s biggest names are set to take centre stage late this year. Corrie legends Bill Roache, Michael Le Vell and Sally Dynevor all recently signed new year-long contracts earlier this year to remain on the ITV soap and are expected to play a role in the big scenes.

Viewers know about Vinny being attacked and threatened by thug Mike who stole from him, after he pretended to be in a similar situation to him. Mike preyed on Vinny after speaking online about the latter’s confusion over his sexuality.
Vinny is in turmoil next week as he faces testifying against Mike in court. He knows that if he does this, Gabby may uncover what he’s been hiding from her – so will he reveal all?

But towards the end of the week, Dylan is tricked into thinking that having Ray in his life is a good thing. Just as the pair believe things are looking up for them, April and Dylan seem unaware of just how much everything depends on Ray and what he’s got up his sleeve.
There could be a new romance twist too, as a spoiler reveals that none other than Laurel is “taken” with “charming” Ray. So will the pair get together, and will she unearth his criminal ways?
Also next week, Liam Cavanagh is still avoiding an appointment about his prostate after some health concerns. When an incident at the surgery sees Manpreet Sharma find out what’s going on though, Liam realises he can’t hide from this any longer.
