It’s no surprise that well-known faces are regularly spotted in this beautiful seaside village

It’s one of my favourite places on the UK coast and it came as no surprise to me that reality TV star Molly-Mae Hague recently visited for a seaside escape. In one of the latest episodes of her Amazon Prime series, Molly-Mae shared some of the moments from her recent trip to the lovely Abersoch in north Wales.

Staying in a beach house on the seafront, she and a friend, plus her daughter Bambi, had their own steps down to the sand and views straight out over the dreamy coastal landscape, which she described as “gorgeous.”

It’s not the first time a celebrity has been spotted here. In 2024, Hollywood mega star Bradley Cooper was seen in Abersoch with survival expert Bear Grylls.

The pair ate a quiet lunch in Blades cafe and are reported to have even cleared away their own plates. Traitors star Kate Garraway went for a break with her family, calling it an “amazing weekend”. Coleen Rooney also shared a snap of her holiday in the area.

Located on the Llŷn Peninsula, or Pen Llŷn, the coastal town of Abersoch is one of the most lovely spots along the Llŷn. This peninsula in northwest Wales is packed with natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and beaches.

Things to do in Abersoch

Surrounded by the sparkling clear waters of the Irish Sea on one side and Cardigan Bay on the other, this area of Wales is a perfect alternative for a holiday abroad, where you’ll find plenty of activities, accommodation and indie restaurants and cafes.

There are remains of Iron Age forts and islands to discover, sweeping stretches of sandy beaches and plenty of cute coastal villages and historic sites to visit.

Known as the ‘Welsh Riviera,’ Abersoch, on the southern part of the Llŷn, is widely known for its sandy beaches, internationally recognised sailing waters, and a small high street filled with trendy bars, restaurants, big brands, and independent shops.

This coastal bolthole is also renowned for its water sports, especially paddleboarding. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of resident dolphins slicing through the clear waters.

The sheltered bay provides perfect conditions for both beginners and experienced paddleboarders, and the village hosts several events and competitions throughout the year, attracting enthusiasts from all over the UK.

You can book a SUP session at Abersoch Watersports, where expert instructors will guide you around the beautiful coastline, pointing out marine life and coastal features. Even if you’re new to paddleboarding you can learn to paddleboard with their ISA-qualified instructors using the top-of-the-range Red Paddle Co paddleboards. You’ll be coached in the bay and learn correct paddle techniques to build confidence and develop your SUP skills so you can get out of the water and start looking for dolphins.

Beautiful beaches

One of the town’s other main draws is the large sandy beach, which the AA previously named one of the ‘best seaside destinations’, saying: “The top place goes to this sandy beach, which is dog-friendly and also manned by lifeguards. There are two nearby tourist attractions: the Porth y Swnt Interpretation Centre and Nant Gwrtheyrn, which is home to the National Welsh Language and Heritage Centre.”

Nearby is Harbour Beach, a strip of sand on the River Soch between the harbour and Warren Beach. If you fancy a bit of a challenge, Porth Ceiriad is a secluded beach that can be tricky to find. Despite being near the popular Abersoch, this idyllic spot remains less frequented, a fact that regulars undoubtedly appreciate. Its deceptive closeness to Abersoch and the enveloping cliffs add to the mystery of finding this secluded beach.

The adventure of discovering Porth Ceiriad is well-known locally. It earned the moniker of the “Porth Ceiriad Mystery Tour” because of the curious case of disappearing tourists led astray by unreliable Satnav directions and confounding maps.

Don’t miss the ice cream

After exploring Abersoch’s dreamy beaches and coastline, make sure to go for ice cream at Two Islands, a small-batch ice cream parlour that’s just been named one of the best places for ice cream in Wales.

Locals and tourists have been raving about this ice cream spot since it opened in 2018. Diane Keaton, the actor who made film history — and won an Oscar — as the title character in Woody Allen’s beloved 1977 romantic comedy “Annie Hall,” died Saturday. She was 79. Tributes poured in from those who worked with and admired Keaton, including Bette Midler, Kate Hudson, Steve Martin and Josh Gad.

HULK Hogan has been laid to rest in a private funeral with WWE legends, celebrities, and his family attending.

Mourners appeared to be wearing a touching nod to the wrestling icon as his casket was taken into a Clearwater, Florida, church on Tuesday.

Hogan died on July 24 aged 71 from a heart attack, but medical records showed he had a history of leukaemia.

Wrestling icons like Triple H, Stephanie McMahon attended, while celebrities like singer Kid Rock and comedian Theo Von were also present.

His ex-wife Lina, who he was married to from 1983 to 2009, was the only member of his family seen going in or out of the service.

Photos from the funeral saw pallbearers wearing yellow boutonnieres – the same colour as Hulk’s iconic wrestling outfit.

The private service was held at the same church where Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, was baptized in 2023.

The service was heavily patrolled by church security and Largo police officers, including K-9 dogs.

President Donald Trump paid tribute to the wrestler by posting a photo to his social media of the pair arm wrestling.

He said: “They are having the “Hulkster’s” funeral today, and I thought everybody would enjoy seeing this picture.”

Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered flags flown at half-staff at all official buildings last Friday, which he declared Hulk Hogan Day in Florida.

Hogan was perhaps the biggest star in WWE’s long history, known for both his larger-than-life personality and his in-ring exploits.

He was the main draw for the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was a fixture for years, facing everyone from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock and even WWE co-founder Vince McMahon.

Hogan had been dealing with significant health issues for months when he went into cardiac arrest at his $11.5 million mansion in Clearwater.

He had a neck surgery in May, and was rushed to the hospital afterwards over complications with his recovery.

In June, he suffered a series of health issues that left him reportedly unable to feel his legs or walk with a cane.

Hogan was also a celebrity outside the wrestling world, appearing in numerous movies and television shows, including Hogan Knows Best, a reality show about his life on VH1.

Hogan’s body will be cremated.

His daughter Brooke Bollea Oleksy, better known by her stage name Brooke Hogan, memorialized her father in a recent social media post.

“I am so grateful I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens, she wrote on Instagram.”

Just days before his death, Hogan and Brooke shared a short but emotional conversation, per the National Enquirer.

“It was a tearful conversation, albeit a short one,” a source told the outlet.

“Brooke told her dad how much she loved him, how much she missed him. Hulk said he loved her, and he was sorry.”

Instantly recognisable in trademark bandana and shaggy, blond handlebar moustache, Hogan had long been a larger-than-life icon for middle America.

Hogan became such a big star that he was able to transcend wrestling and starred in the movie The Rock III with Sylvester Stallone, as well as securing his own reality TV show, Hogan Knows Best.

Born Terry Gene Bollea in Augusta, Georgia, in 1953, his dad was a construction foreman father and his mum was a dance teacher.

At school, he was called a hippy because of his long hair, love of rock music and hatred of American football despite his physique.

Mischa Barton

The OC actress Mischa, 39, has had a widely-publicised battle with her former momager, Nuala Barton, over her money.

In July 2015, she even sued her mother, alleging that she lied about how much Mischa was being paid for a film role and pocketed the rest of the cash herself.

She’s also struggled to make mortgage payments on her home in the past, at one point falling five months behind.

Though she eventually sold the Beverly Hills mansion in summer 2016 for $7.05 million reports The BBC.

Dawn O’Porter

Her husband is one of Hollywood’s biggest comedy actors, but despite this, Dawn O’Porter has revealed she is struggling to make ends meet financially.

The television presenter, 46, who has been married to Bridesmaids actor Chris O’Dowd since 2012, has opened up about her money woes.

She expressed to MailOnline: “I work pay cheque to pay cheque. I’m always broke. My card got declined last week. I’m like, what the f*** is happening? When will this end?”

The Scottish writer and director has had a varied career, presenting several documentaries and shows including BBC’s Super Slim Me and How To Look Good Naked on Channel 4.

Meanwhile, Chris, 45, has starred in some of Hollywood’s biggest productions, including This Is 40, Thor: The Dark World, Gulliver’s Travels and St. Vincent.

The couple have two children, sons Art, 11, and Valentine, who is eight years old.

Lindsay Lohan

The Parent Trap’s Lindsay Lohan had her bank accounts seized in 2012, for reportedly owing $234,000 in tax.

Lindsay apparently sent her 18-year-old sister to haggle with second hand stores to make some emergency cash from her old clothes.

Ali Lohan went to the vintage clothing store Wasteland to flog the singer’s most valuable designer gear.

Ali was seen arriving at the Los Angeles store with bags bursting with shoes, clothes and accessories.

But she was reportedly shocked when she was offered a lot less than she was expecting.

She tried another tactic to increase the value of the items by listing all the occasions her famous sister had been pictured wearing them.

She went through items including a pair of Chanel pumps and a Balenciaga handbag, saying: “These have to be worth more, Lindsay was photographed wearing them, that has to add value.”

But the manager would not be swayed, and Ali had to settle much lower than she had planned.

Her Scary Movie 5 co-star, Charlie Sheen, gave her $100,000 towards the bill and Lindsay now appears to have her finances under control.

50 Cent

50 Cent declared himself bankrupt in 2015, but said the move was a ‘strategic’ one, and not because he’d spent all of his money.

He made the decision after he was sued for leaking a sex tape of Lastonia Leviston, who has a child with his rap rival Rick Ross, and didn’t want other people to follow suit.

He told US talk show host Larry King in 2015L “It’s a move that was necessary for me to make at this point.

“So I didn’t allow myself to create that big red and white bulls eye on my back, where I become the person that people consistently come to.”

He still had to pay off debts of more than $22 million, though, with $6 million going to Lastonia for invasion of privacy.

Shane Richie

Back in 2020, the EastEnders legend said the coronavirus pandemic hit him hard and left him begging friends and family for loans.

Shane revealed how the pandemic and years of daft spending had left him “literally skint.”

At the time he was relying on loans from friends and family, and government help to pay his mortgage.

He told the Mirror at the time: “I was going on tour, doing a TV series and panto but it all got cancelled in March. Now I am literally skint!

“You save for a rainy day but you don’t expect the rainy day to last eight months. Thankfully, I’ve been able to borrow money from mates, my family and the bank.”

He added: “I got rid of my car but only cos I lease a car for my wife for the school run. I can get around on a moped.

“I am alright, I have had a career and if it all finishes tomorrow, so be it. If the worst comes to the worst, I’ll do stand-up or resurrect a musical.”

Shane also revealed that he blew thousands on the strangest things, in particular Planet of the Apes memorabilia.

He said: “It was my favourite show as a boy, I couldn’t resist. It harks back to Christmases when mum and dad couldn’t afford much.”

However, after his stint on I’m a Celeb and back on our screens in EastEnders, we are sure Shane’s finances are in much better order now.

Courtney Love

In April 2014, Courtney was hit with a $320,000 tax bill, as well as being ordered to pay $96,000 to a fashion designer she defamed on Twitter.

Later that year, the singer told the Sunday Times, “I lost about $27 million.

“I know that’s a lifetime of money to most people, but I’m a big girl, it’s rock ‘n roll, it’s Nirvana money, I had to let it go.

“I make enough to live on, I’m financially solvent, I focus on what I make now.”

And back in 2021 according to official tax records, the Hole lead singer had five outstanding tax debts that have accumulated from 2017 to 2021. 

The iconic artist was hit with three outstanding Internal Revenue Service liens, totaling $1.9 million, while the rest of the debt was owed to the State of California.  

At the time, a clerk at the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s office confirmed to The Sun that all of the liens remained outstanding and were unpaid.

Dawn Robinson

Dawn, found early fame in the ’90s alongside Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones for their work as R&B group En Vogue.

With seven Grammy nominations under their belt, the foursome are considered one of the most successful R&B girl groups of the past quarter-century.

But now Dawn has revealed that she’s been living in her car for the past three years.

She has likened it to a “camping trip” that’s helped her feel more “free.”

The singer said in a recent video posted to her YouTube channel: “You guys, for the past three years, I have been living in my car.

“I said it, oh my gosh, it’s out,”

The Grammy nominee explained that she was living with her parents for a while in Las Vegas before the situation became unfavourable.

She eventually moved back to Los Angeles after her manager suggested she move in with him for a bit.

But the home was too small so Dawn ultimately resided in a hotel for eight months before deciding to research “car life.”

Following her search, the singer began living in her car in 2022 and said that she “felt free.”

She added: “I felt free. I felt like I was on a camping trip. It just felt like it was the right thing to do.

“I didn’t regret it. You know, a lot of celebrities have lived in their cars.”

The singer admitted that though the experience is sometimes “scary” she’s learned “what to do in my car and how to do it, like, how to cover my windows and you don’t talk to certain people.”

She explained: “You’re careful of telling people that you’re alone, as a woman especially.”

Her candid confession comes weeks after her former band – En Vogue – announced that they would soon be embarking on a European tour.

Charlyn Marie “Chan” Marshall, better known by her stage name Cat Power, is an American singer-songwriter.

She spent a lot of her own money on recording 2012 album, Sun.

Then, when it came time to tour Sun, she took to Instagram to share some bad news with fans.

She wrote: “I may have to cancel my European tour due to bankruptcy & my health struggle with angioedema.

“I have not thrown in any towel, I am trying to figure out what best I can do.”

The tour was indeed postponed, with Chan later adding: “The American tour has been wonderful and amazing, and with me being unable to afford to bring my show with full production (which i helped create), to Europe.

“Financially, really dumped a huge additional amount of stress on me as I was and still am fighting trying to get tour support.”

A YOUNG woman has shared all on her “cool” side hustle that sees her make thousands of pounds in just a few days.

Chifae, a 23-year-old woman from London, explained that with her job, not only does she make cash quickly, but she even gets to meet loads of celebrities too.

And that’s not even the best part – with this line of work, anyone can do it and no qualifications are needed.

Eager to reveal more about how she earns a living, Chifae took to social media and explained that instead of a 9 to 5 job, she works as a film extra.

In film and television, a film extra, also known as a background actor, is a performer who often appears in a non-speaking role, typically in the background of a scene. 

Film extras help create a sense of realism by populating scenes, whilst providing context for the main action.

As Chifae filmed herself in the street, she beamed: “If you live in London, this is your sign to start working as a film extra.

“I made almost £2,000 for just seven days of shooting and got to meet Tom Cruise and Rosamund Pike.” 

While Chifae is a film extra in London, and has even met Harry Styles whilst out and about in the city, many other major cities in the UK and around the world will also be looking for people to star in the background of scenes. 

For those in London, Chifae recommended the following casting agencies – Rachel’s People, Key Castings, Universal Extras, Extra People, Entertainment Partners and Slick Casting.

Chifae’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @chifou02, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 179,700 views in just seven days. 

Not only this, but it’s also amassed 18,300 likes, 212 comments and 2,952 saves.

Social media users were stunned by Chifae’s unique side hustle and many were eager to “learn” more about it and would “love to know more.” 

One person said: “I need to learn from you girl.” 

Another added: “This is true, I miss being an extra.” 

A third commented: “That’s so cool!!” 

Meanwhile, someone else beamed: “I do the same and it’s the best thing ever. They feed you good food like three times on shift as well. I once got paid the full date rate for three hours of work too.” 

Whilst another chimed in and claimed: “I did this for years and even a body double role, was fun and was on set with many big names.” 

At the same time, one user begged: “Can you send the agencies please.”

And another asked: “Do you need professional pictures taken to apply?”

In response, Chifae wrote back and confirmed: “I have professional photos but a lot of people don’t. You don’t need them.” 

In a follow-up clip, Chifae then shared more on her job as an extra, as she claimed that it is often “very long hours” and shifts usually start from 4am or 5am and can go on until 8pm.

Although the hours are long, Chifae claimed that working as an extra is a great way to make “a lot of money” as extras are paid “very good extra money for the overtime.”

She then added: “You don’t have access to your phone, so it’s a good way also to make friends and meet people.

“You have to sign NDAs – you’re not allowed to post pictures of sets or anything, they’re very strict on that.

“But if you don’t have a 9 to 5 and you wanna do this for fun or extra money, or just to gain some experience in film, it’s a very good way to start because you meet a lot of people and you get to meet very famous actors, film directors and it’s just a good experience.”

We checked in to this popular central London hotel to see why it’s so popular – with celebrities and ‘regular’ travellers alike – and discovered spacious rooms and amazing views

First impressions when you enter London Hilton on Park Lane, on the edge of Hyde Park, are certainly grand ones, with a glitzy lobby filled with velvet sofas and human-sized bouquets of fresh flowers to greet you.

Despite this clearly being a big corporate hotel (there was at least one conference going on when we stayed), the service is super friendly and personal, from the welcome at reception to the cute note from housekeeping on our pillow with the turn down. Lots of guests were obviously repeat visitors, and staff greeted them – and first-timers like us – like old friends. We’re told Academy Award-winning actor Susan Sarandon recently stayed here, as did Maura Higgins to get ready before this year’s TV BAFTAs.

The rooms at London Hilton on Park Lane

We were lucky enough to be put in the recently refurbished Executive Park Lane Suite, a huge space on the 25th floor featuring a lounge area, separate bedroom and dressing room, and incredible views out over Hyde Park, with the Serpentine twinkling in the middle. We were particularly taken by the window seat and super-comfy bed, and the large marble bathroom with two sinks, separate bath and shower, and Molton Brown toiletries. If your budget stretches to it, it’s a real luxury to have so much space in the city centre, and feels like London’s version of a luxury apartment in New York City, overlooking Central Park.

One big perk for those staying in an Executive Room or any of the 56 suites is access to the hotel’s Executive Lounge, where breakfast is served in the mornings, and drinks and snacks between 5pm-7pm in the evenings – and there’s a wide selection, with no limits on the wines, beers, soft drinks and snacks. You could basically dine out here if you so wished.

The food atLondon Hilton on Park Lane

Instead, however, we headed downstairs for dinner at the hotel’s Park Corner Brasserie, a modern British eatery serving elevated classics. Although not a huge number of options for vegetarians, we loved our cabbage and sweetcorn frittata, and there were loads of grill dishes to choose from. Our personal highlight came at the end of the meal with a trio of creme brulées, each one more delicious than the last.
