IT’S bad news if you are due to travel to a popular holiday hotspot tomorrow as flight chaos is expected across the country.
Air traffic controllers are due to strike across Italy tomorrow for four hours, which could send airports into chaos.
The strike will take place between 1pm and 5pm with the main airports expected to be impacted including Rome, Naples, Milan and Venice.
However, the strike is national meaning that ENAV – the company that runs Italian air traffic control – will walk out at all 33 Italian airports.
Under Italian laws, flights in the morning and evening are guaranteed to operate as usual.
These flights are between 7am and 10am and 6pm and 9pm.

All connections to Italian islands also remain guaranteed.
So if you are able to move your flight, especially to the morning, then you’d be protected from a cancellation.
As a strike is outside of an airline’s control, you sadly won’t get any compensation.
But the airline does have a duty of care, which means they must provide you with food and water as well as book you into a hotel if you are stuck overnight.
Flights expected to be impacted tomorrow include a 12:30pm Wizz Air service from Milan to London Luton, a 2pm easyJet flight from Milan to London Gatwick and a 1:20pm easyJet flight from Rome to London Gatwick.
Passengers are being advised to check their flight status with their airline and airport before travelling.
There will be another strike on October 16, lasting 24 hours – but this time it will be easyJet flight crew walking out.
