Why Niall Horan & Harry Styles are ‘no longer close’ and have ‘nothing in common’ after another feud tears them apart

THEY were once ‘like brothers’, touring the world together and dealing with global superstardom after being propelled into the spotlight aged just 16.

But now in their early 30s, Niall Horan and Harry Styles are “worlds apart” and living “vastly different lives”. Here, an insider tells us why the relationship has soured between the pair, and how the rest of One Direction are keeping their distance.

Fans first noticed cracks between the pair last month when Niall, 32, made barbed remarks about the cost of fame on an American podcast just days after Harry, also 32, said he found his superstardom “deeply isolating”.

Speaking on the Zach Sang show earlier this month, Niall cheerfully revealed how delighted he is to be living a “completely normal life” in London, travelling on the tube, walking his dog and going for beers with his mates in local boozers.

When asked if he minds being stopped by fans, the Irish singer remarked: “You cannot have your f***ing cake and eat it”.

Fans were quick to point out that the comment came shortly after Harry spoke about the cost of superstardom – and wondered if it was a dig in his direction.

Speaking to Runners’ World magazine for their May cover, Harry said that he found fame ‘deeply isolating’ and felt the need to withdraw from public life to protect himself.

As part of this, he moved to Italy, because it allows him to ‘live a quiet life’ and ‘reset’.

But the differing attitudes toward fame are part of reason why the pair are no longer close.

A source tells us: “The boys used to be like brothers, they were the best of friends and used to joke about what life would be like when they were old men and still hanging out together.

“Now they are about a million miles from that. They have gone their separate ways and are all living such different lives.

“Niall is a real homebody; he loves being at their place in London with Mia and the dog, or with his family in Ireland. He’s not a kid anymore; he feels settled now, while Harry still jets all over the world and never seems to stay in one place for long.

“The pair of them hardly have anything in common now, and while Niall would never come straight out and criticise Harry, some things he says definitely make Niall’s eyes roll.”

While the Irish singer songwriter, who is worth £52 million, is completely at ease with being recognised when he’s out and about, scared Styles recently admitted all the unwanted attention left him wanting to become a recluse.

Speaking to US media, Niall claims he can live carefree in London. He says his life with long-term girlfriend Amelia Woolley – known as Mia – is not built around his work schedule and fame.

He added that he’s never minded being mobbed by One Direction’s devoted army of fans: “I don’t ever want it to be like, poor me. That was just the way it was – there were a lot of people around.

“I just get out and do it, and people are going to come up to you and say hello. And that’s fine.

“I used to be nearly afraid of that. I love it now. I basically live a completely normal life, really, apart from the fact that if I walk in somewhere, someone’s going to come up and say hello, that’s fine.

“I walk the dog every day and go on the tube and go into town and go for beers. There’s nothing special.

“It’s a great thing. It’s something that when you were younger, you yearned for.

“We all want that normalcy in effect. You cannot have your f****ing cake and eat it, though, either.

“I want to be out there doing my thing and getting up on stage. It’s the best f***ing thing in the world.”

This latest spat between the pop legends comes after we revealed Zayn Malik punched Louis Tomlinson in the face during a vicious row, cutting his head and leaving him concussed.

The former pals’ bruising clash came as they filmed a three-part road trip for a nostalgic Netflix documentary about the band, which has since been scrapped.

It emerged that Zayn had made a scathing remark about Louis’ mum, Johannah Deakin, who died of leukaemia in 2016.

Despite the frenzy of worldwide adulation, Niall says that down-to-earth fashion buyer Mia, 28, from Birmingham, keeps his feet firmly planted on the ground.

He went on: “You can sit at home and go like, it’s hard for me to do these things.

“But at times, it being uncomfortable or something can be a reason why you don’t do them. Or you can choose for that to not be a reason and you can do them anyway.

“When you shut out a lot of the things that are assumed can be negative, you also just unconsciously shut out a ton of positive things.

“We live a completely normal life outside of this.

“It’s like someone’s pressed pause on a stopwatch, and then when it clicked back in, I was just this different person. It’s really cool. It happened gradually, but when I think about it in hindsight, it felt like just night and day.

I basically live a completely normal life, if someone’s going to come up and say hello, that’s fine

“My life just went from being all encompassing to having this good divide.

“I love it. I like having the balance. It’s pretty cool.

“I’ve gotten very good at. When I’m at home, I’m completely at home. I’m not doing anything. I just want to be at home.

“But I like going to work now and then being at home, I like it that way.

“Hopefully, I can keep doing that because it’s a nice little balance I’ve got going on. And it takes time to get to that.

“Amelia’s got her own life. She’s been doing her thing, and everything can’t be just surrounding me.

“It’s already weird enough that she used to fly to Amsterdam to come in on a five o’clock flight on a Friday. It can’t be like that all the time.

“Bringing her into that is a really cool thing. And she feels that sense of pride and looks at the fans and sees the way they’re thinking and things like that.

“It’s such a cool thing for her if I play her a song; she’s never had that before. It’s not like people were coming home in the evening from work and going, ‘Hey, I wrote you a song today.’

“That’s a new thing for her, too. The whole thing is a shock to the system, but our life is just not all about that.”

Niall previously dated Hailee Steinfeld and Ellie Goulding – resulting in Ed Sheeran writing the hit track Don’t about an apparent love triangle between the trio.

But Harry, who rented a mansion outside Rome and ran marathons using pseudonyms, feels very differently.

He explained recently: “A large part of the last couple of years has just been about, honestly, learning to like myself away from having so much of my value baked into whether other people are enjoying me or not.

“Learning that fears and feelings aren’t facts, and you can have a feeling about yourself and taking the time to be able to see what that is and see where that comes from.”

Beverley Callard breaks down in tears as she says I’m A Celebrity exit was start of cancer hell

Beverley Callard cried in a new video posted this evening as she explained how I’m A Celebrity was the start of her struggles, which eventually led to her being diagnosed with breast cancer

Beverley Callard broke down in tears as she said her I’m A Celebrity exit was the start of her cancer battle.

The Coronation Street star was forced to quit I’m A Celebrity days before the final on medical grounds. She departed the show after falling ill, with bosses telling her she had to leave for her health.

However, now Beverley has spoken out and explained how she lost consciousness whilst on the show, admitting “I didn’t know then that I had cancer” as she reflected on her time on the show.

Speaking after her exit aired on the ITV show, she said: “I just watched my exit on I’m A Celeb and it made me cry all over again. Of course, I didn’t know then that I had cancer but I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I hadn’t felt very well.

“What happened was, I went into the Bush Telegraph and apparently, I lost consciousness for a little while. I just wasn’t feeling myself. They took me to a medical hut and they were amazing; they really looked after me and they said you can’t go back.”

She added: “And I said ‘don’t say that, don’t send me home, I’ll be fine. I wanted to succeed and make it through to the end but that was the start of everything. It’s made me really emotional but I will beat this. I will beat it.”

Announcing her exit to her campmates tonight, Beverley explained how she was told she had to leave. She gathered them around and cried as she said: “Hi guys, I’ve just got something to tell you all.

“I didn’t feel very well this morning… and the medics have advised I can’t return to camp. I’ve got to go home. I don’t want to go. I’m absolutely gutted. I wanted to finish.”

She said she “had a funny turn and they’ve said I can’t come back in and I’ve got to go out. I don’t want to go. I’m gutted I wanted to finish. I wanted to prove older women could do it.”

Scarlett then told her: “Your health is more important,” with Adam adding: “Look how far you have come. I’m so proud of you.” Craig said of her exit: “She gave a really good account of herself and can leave with her head held high.”

Since announcing her diagnosis in February, Beverley has been keeping fans updated on her health and recovery.

David Haye tears into Adam Thomas as co-star begs ‘stop it’ in shock I’m A Celeb row

Gogglebox legend and former jungle queen Scarlett Moffatt will beg David Haye to “stop it” on tonight’s I’m A Celeb as the boxer causes tensions in the camp to rise even further

Scarlett Moffatt is seen begging David Haye to “stop it” as a huge row breaks out on tonight’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…South Africa. The TV star, 35, who became Queen of the Jungle on the regular edition of Ant and Dec’s reality survival show just two years after she found fame on Gogglebox in 2014, is back on the All Stars version of the programme and can be seen trying to keep the peace during tense scenes set to air on Friday night.

Already at the centre of controversy thanks to sexist comments he made earlier this week, boxer David will be seen trying to bully Emmerdale star Adam Thomas into taking part in the Termite Terror, unable to accept that the former soap actor just isn’t feeling up to it.

Trying to sleep, Adam admits it would be hard to get through it today because he is feeling dehydrated, but David is seen raging: “Dehydrated?! We’ve all got the same amount of water! Adam is doing it and that’s it!”

READ MORE: I’m A Celebrity’s David Haye under fire for nasty comments to Adam ThomasREAD MORE: I’m A Celebrity fans fume at ‘ungrateful’ David Haye after Adam Thomas’ risky move

Adam has arthritis, which he has been open about. Explaining how it affects him, he said previously: “It is an autoimmune disease. Basically means my immune system is attacking my own body. It causes a s**t-load of pain.”

Some days he will need help doing simple day-to-day tasks and his mental health has been affected, but ultimately, it’s made him stronger. He can experience pain in his fingers and knees on some days, but others, he can be in pain all over his body

David’s co-stars continually try to remind him that their campmate isn’t feeling well enough to get through it, but he becomes hellbent on trying to force Adam into it. He continues: “When is your top form gonna come? Why aren’t we forcing this dude to go and do it? Coincidentally, every time there’s something to do, he’s not feeling well!”

It is at that point that Scarlett, clearly in despair at the situation developing, says: “Stop it David, he’s not well!” David has already caused a major stir during his All Stars stint, when early on in the series, he made comments about his girlfriend Sian. When talking about his partner cooking for them all, he then added: “She’s like tall, blue eyes. She’s lovely. She’s got the personality of a proper ugly bird.”

Despite Scarlett’s suggestion he should stop there, he continued his tirade as he added: “She has. Most ugly girls realise they don’t they’re not pretty enough to… they gotta have a personality to banter and to tell jokes and s**t, so people overlook the fact that they’re not aesthetically amazing, straight away.

“Which is what’s called Ugly Duckling syndrome, where girls are ugly, when they start off, and then they and then they kind of they, they get pretty as they get older. But they still got the personality of when they’re ugly. Does that make sense?”

In the rant, which left angry viewers fuming, he added: “You get a girl who’s pretty from day one, you get a girl who’s different day one. Everyone goes ‘You’re so beautiful. You’re amazing’. She grows up thinking, I’m amazing. Everyone loves me. I can open any door. I can go anywhere I want.

“They don’t have to have a personality, because most super pretty girls are just idiots. But then their ugly friend, they’ve got work a bit harder, be more personable. They got to be nicer to everyone. Gonna get you a drink.”

It was recently claimed that David made those comments because he could not rely on AI to tell him that they were “safe” to say out loud. The source insisted there was “no malice” but added he would use AI to “check he’s not offending someone before he comments”.

“His focus inside camp has always been the game, survival decisions and camp dynamics rather than trying to offend anyone. Those who know him best understand there was no malice behind the remark,” a source told The Sun.

“When AI started he started using it all the time to check he’s not offending someone before he comments. It’s a bit of a comfort blanket for him – but he didn’t have that in the jungle.”

BBC Ambulance paramedic breaks down in tears as he makes devastating admission

BBC Ambulance took an emotional turn as one paramedic was brought to tears

A BBC Ambulance paramedic was left sobbing as he made a heartbreaking admission.

Healthcare professional Jeff tackled an emergency call that he said “hit close to home” as his dad passed away from a similar issue he had to take on.

Fans of the BBC hit show see real-life emergencies and high-pressure environments as frontline workers give everything they have to save lives in the most critical of circumstances.

During tonight’s (April 15) instalment, which is the final episode of the season, Castleford crew paramedic Jeff and associate ambulance practitioner Eddie receive a call to attend to a 51-year-old man, who has been having trouble getting his dialysis most of the week.

The duo rushed to the scene and after arriving it was clear Dale was uncomfortable as they found him lying in his bed struggling to move.

Dale’s mum explained to Jeff and Eddie that he has been feeling drowsy, has been suffering with pain in his chest and was being sick all morning.

After running some checks, Jeff quickly informed his mum that if they had left it any longer he would have gone into cardiac arrest. Acting quick, Jeff and Eddie rushed Dale to hospital and made sure he got treated immediately.

While sitting in the ambulance, things took an emotional turn as Jeff broke down in tears and revealed: “Quite close to home for me because my dad passed away from renal failure. So it’s quite close to home for me.”

Jeff struggled to control his emotions as he stepped out of the car to have a moment to himself.

Stepping back into the vehicle, he explained to colleague Eddie: “My dad went into renal failure. British National in South Africa, during COVID as well so I couldn’t go and see him and he passed away before he really knew what was happening.”

Visibly moved, he continued: “I think as a bloke sometimes emotionally we don’t deal with what’s going on in the background. The baggage becomes quite heavy until you get to the point where it’s overflowing and your whole world comes crumbling down.”

Jeff added: “I think half the problem is that I don’t do good talking about emotions. People deal with grief in different ways. It’s the little things that can trigger it and it can come out of the blue. My dad dying has definitely been life changing for me.”

At the end of the show it was revealed that after a long illness and multiple hospital admissions Dale died 6 months later

‘I was left in tears after my flight left without me — even though I had boarded’

An influencer bawled her eyes out after she was allegedly kicked off a plane at Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania and abandoned after grabbing something she forgot in the airport

A tourist claimed she was left stranded late at night after a flight took off without her despite already boarding.

Influencer Emily Ball, 23, alleged that she asked to leave a plane to try to to grab her forgotten wallet, after realising she had left it in the terminal when she was already sat on the flight. The TikToker said she immediately told a flight attendant and asked if she could quickly run back to get it, at Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania, US.

But what the influencer thought would be a speedy dash to grab her goods quickly spiralled into chaos.

Emily, who shared her account of the moment on her TikTok page (@emily_ball), said: “I told a flight attendant right away and asked if I could quickly run to grab it, and she said yes.”

After leaving the plane, she tried to re-enter through the boarding door “but was stopped by security”. Emily said: “They told me to stay where I was. They said I had broken protocol by exiting and trying to come back that way, and security was called.”

Emily claims the situation escalated rapidly, with officials filing a report and escorting her away from the gate. Meanwhile, her belongings were removed from the aircraft.

She said: “In the moment, I was honestly shocked and overwhelmed because I thought I had permission and was just trying to grab something important.”

Emily said the situation became even more chaotic with the airport closing for the night. The influencer claimed the only option offered to her was a replacement flight from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, around 100 miles away, at 4am. The TikToker said she was forced to travel to the other city in the middle of the night and called the ordeal “exhausting and chaotic”.

She said: “While I understand there are strict airport security rules, I do wish there had been clearer communication about what I was actually allowed to do. The whole situation spiralled way faster than I expected, especially that late at night.”

The clip sparked a mixed reaction online with one person saying: “Poor girl.” Another person said: “As a former flight attendant, it’s insane that you opened the doors.” A third user added: “I would never open the plane door even if they told me to! That’s scary!”

Coronation Street fans in tears as ‘most distressing scenes ever’ air on soap

Coronation Street viewers were left in tears as the “most distressing scenes ever” aired on Wednesday night as a long-running abuse plot finally began to unravel

Coronation Street fans were left in tears as the “most distressing scenes ever” aired on Wednesday night. The world’s longest-running TV soap has been exploring another abuse storyline for several months now, which has seen Todd Grimshaw become the victim of coercive control at the hands of Theo Silverton.

What started as cutting Todd off from his friends turned into bizarre forms of abuse, like making him eat his dinner cold and then coercing him into getting married. Theo caused the death of Todd’s friend Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) in the programme’s crossover with Emmerdale, leaving him to die in an explosion following a multi-car pileup.

Things came to a horrifying head earlier in the week when Theo, who had been making plans to move himself and Todd away to Ireland, attacked Todd so badly that he stumbled over to his best friend Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) flat, where, with a bloodied face and barely able to walk, she knew immediately what had happened.

READ MORE: Where is Coronation Street’s Kirsty actress now 13 years after exit for abusing TyroneREAD MORE: Coronation Street spoilers: Character killed off, villains exposed and Swarla wedding

As the events unfolded in a special mid-week episode of the programme, Todd was at the police station for an interview, where he promptly broke down in tears and spoke of everything he had been put through. Back on the street, Gary caught Theo (James Cartwright) trying to make an escape, but had taken his keys out of his van to stop him, and made sure that he had no option but to go to the police station.

Sarah set about taking Todd (Gareth Pierce) to the hospital once his police interview had finished, but he collapsed in the car park. She later confirmed to George Shuttleworth, who has become a father figure to Todd, that he had suffered a lacerated spleen and internal bleeding as he and the other residents of Weatherfield wondered how they could ever let it get this far.

Through tears, Todd’s daughter Summer said: “I hate him. How could he do this to Todd? I’ll kill him. I swear I will!” Police then confirmed that Theo’s devices would be searched, and he was ordered into a cell.

To wrap up the episode, DS Lisa Swain, who has wrongly arrested most of the street during her time in Weatherfield and once failed to realise her wife had faked her own death, was given the honour of delivering a powerful monologue to tackle the issue head-on.

Viewers immediately took to social media to share their reactions, with one writing: “Oh my Days I think I’ve just used a full box of tissues. One of the most distressing, moving and amazing acting I’ve ever seen on Corrie! Well done for bring Domestic violence to the forefront.”

Another said: “Spoilers, but tonight’s episode is so powerful. It’s heartbreaking but so important. I hope this helps people to reach out for help. The last few minutes were so moving, it really got to me. I don’t think Theo will be killed, it’s too obvious, I hope he goes to prison.”

A third wrote: “Excellent episode tonight. It reminded me so much of how I felt 20 years ago. How I was scared to stay, but scared to leave. And I’m glad they mentioned honour abuse because that badly needed saying. WELL DONE.”

A fourth said: “Absolutely Heartbreaking & a hard watch[heartbroken emoji] but today’s episode was brilliant. Gareth pierce, the actor you are truly a fantastic performance throughout this storyline he has been outstanding and Lisa’s monologue at the end, was powerful what a scene!”

Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X.

Rich House Poor House dad in tears over tragic reasons he can’t earn more money

Rich House Poor House saw one millioanire change the life of a family who were struggling to make ends meet

Surviving on just £100 a week to support a family of five, one man’s dream of a better life has proved an uphill struggle.

During Sunday’s (April 12) episode of Rich House, Poor House on Channel 5, millionaire currency trader Lewis from Norfolk and his wealthy best friend Helen traded their lavish lifestyle with cleaner Nicole and joiner Grant.

Based in Grantham, Nicole and Grant have been married since 2023 and share a three-bedroom council house with their three boys.

Despite both grafting hard, the couple are left with just £100 a week to cover their family’s outgoings, and are desperate for a change in fortunes.

Devoted mum Nicole juggles two jobs as a dinner lady and cleaner on minimum wage to keep the family’s heads above water financially, reports OK!.

Her husband Grant has worked at the same factory making conservatories since the age of 17, taking home £360 per week, yet harbours ambitions of earning considerably more.

“I want to have a better job so I can provide a lot more for the kids to enjoy themselves”, Grant shared.

Sadly, his plans to advance his career were derailed when his stepfather passed away two years ago. “It affected my confidence”, Grant said, visibly welling up, “He was a big part of my life”.

Grant’s hopes of landing a better-paid role were dealt a further blow when he lost both of his front teeth to decay.

Nicole explained: “Since he lost his teeth, that confidence has gone down, and then he has been talking about it less and less.”

Grant explained: “It felt very much like I was in a box, didn’t want to come out”, as the cost of dentures had proved far beyond his means.

The moment Grant had long been dreaming of finally arrived when he visited the dentist. The dentures cost over £1,000, a bill that was generously covered by Lewis.

“I couldn’t sleep last night, I was too excited”, Grant confided to Nicole in the waiting room.

When his new teeth were fitted, Grant was left stunned by his transformed appearance, which completely restored his smile.

“Wow”, Grant exclaimed before adding, “I feel more confident, a lot happier now, so I’m hoping I can carry on being that way throughout the future.”

During the house swap, Lewis also gave Grant and Nicole’s home a fresh makeover, but the generosity didn’t stop there. At the family’s subsequent meeting, Lewis made a truly life-changing proposition.

Helen treated Nicole to a pamper day to celebrate the dawn of a new chapter, while Lewis cleared the couple’s credit card debt, which had accumulated through wedding costs and the urgent need to replace their car.

Lewis then offered Nicole access to his premium mentorship package to learn trading, valued at £15,000. Once she establishes herself as a successful trader, she will gain access to £100,000 in trading funds, with the potential to generate an annual profit of £50,000 to £100,000.

The couple were rendered utterly speechless by the extraordinary news.

Jordan Brook fights tears in first TV interview after horror meningitis battle

The Towie star opened up about his horror health ordeal in his first TV interview since being hospitalised on Good Morning Britain.

Jordan Brook has opened up about his horror health battle in his first TV interview since returning home from hospital.

Towie star Jordan Brook was hospitalised with meningitis for 22 days, and is still recovering from the viral disease, which was unrelated to the Kent outbreak.

He had originally been told his symptoms were a migraine, and was sent home before returning to his GP as his pain increased, and was rushed to A&E.

Jordan, 31, and his pregnant partner Sophie Kasaei were left fearing the worst, and though he has now thankfully returned home, he’s still recovering and struggling with some symptoms.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today, Jordan recalled the horror ordeal as he and Geordie Shore star Sophie, 36, spoke to hosts Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway.

He began by saying this was the first day he’d had that gave him a “sense of normality”, after fearing that “would never happen” just a week ago.

He recalled life being “great” after turning 31, preparing for their baby to arrive, but was struck down with what he thought was a fever and an “extreme” headache at the beginning of March.

At the time, Sophie thought Jordan had “man flu”, but his pain intensified, leading him to ring 111.

“I felt like someone had a hot corkscrew out of a fire and was screwing it into my temple. I was in agony. It was making me sick, I was projectile vomiting all over the house, in the bed, bright yellow because I wasn’t eating,” he said.

Paramedics initially told Jordan he had a migraine, but two days later, he was blue-lighted to the hospital, though his scans all came back clear, including for meningitis.

“I’ve never trusted the saying ‘trust your gut’ more. I knew something was wrong,” he went on.

Jordan returned to the hospital after visiting his GP a few days later, where he had a lumbar puncture and a CT scan. “This is when we realised something was wrong,” he said.

At the time, Jordan didn’t have any of the symptoms they thought were linked to meningitis, like a rash or a stiff neck.

Sophie was also banned from visiting him in hospital, because if Jordan had been infected with bacterial meningitis, it would have been a risk for her and their unborn child.

Doctors also had to warn Jordan of all the worst-case scenarios, and he grew emotional remembering the words they told him.

“This makes me so emotional,” he told Ranvir and Kate. “Doctors said, we can’t rule out brain cancer, because they have to tell you every worst case.”

For Sophie, the scariest moment came when Jordan wasn’t able to speak to her.

“You do not think these things will ever happen to you,” she said. “At 31, Jordan is so fit and healthy, he’s always on the go, and to hear that.”

She went on: “Jordan was non-verbal for a bit, and that was the really scary part.”

On his return home last week, Sophie took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the outcome.

She said, “Watching you walk out of those hospital doors felt like getting my whole world back.

“These past weeks have been the hardest I’ve ever known. But you never stopped fighting, not just for yourself, but for us, for your family, for our little boy growing inside me.

“The goal was to be home for Easter, and you did it! Having JB home, hand on my bump, smiling again means more than words will ever be able to say.

“We are blessed, grateful, and whole again. Happy Easter from us. Enjoy it with loved ones, sit back, and soak it up. Life is a precious gift.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.

Rich House, Poor House mum in tears over millionaire’s gift ‘it’ll change my life’

A single mum of three received a ‘life-changing’ gift on Rich House, Poor House on Channel 5

A single mum-of-three, drowning in debt, was moved to tears after a millionaire invested £100,000 in her budding restaurant venture and paid off her debt on Rich House, Poor House.

Valerie Mayer, from Portsmouth, who is juggling raising her three children and working as a full-time carer, appeared on the Channel 5 hit show on Sunday (March 29) night alongside mum Cleopatra.

The talented home cook has always had dreams of launching a Zimbabwean restaurant in the UK, however with a weekly budget of just £53 her lifelong passion has been pushed to the side as she battles to make ends meet.

In a heartbreaking moment, she admitted that she has faced threats from debt collectors. She revealed: “My financial situation got so bad that I had bailiffs come in, and I just went into a state of panic. I was looking out of the windows to see if anyone was there. I got scared to leave the house.”

Seeing how the top 1% live, Valerie swapped homes for a week with tech startup millionaire, Steve Bolton, who lives in a plush £1m, six-bedroom property in Bournemouth.

The father of four left school at 16 with no qualifications but built a business from scratch, with his company now boasting a portfolio worth £750m.

Given his hectic life as an entrepreneur, he missed out on quality time with his children, so he decided to invite his eldest daughter, marketing guru, Ella, and his clothes shop owner son, Charlie, to join him on the show.

The family traded their home with two lounges, a dining room for eight, six bedrooms and five bathrooms, for a week-long stay in Val’s council house 60 miles along the coast.

While Steve and his two children had to manage on £51.93 for the week, Valerie and her mum experienced a glimpse of luxury living with a weekly budget of £2,000. Val and Cleopatra indulged in costly seafood, went on shopping trips for clothes, and even treated themselves to a day at the races.

However, Steve and his family found it difficult to adapt in their new environment and things took an emotional turn as Steve visibly moved after finding out about Valerie’s debt.

It was clear that Steve wanted to help Valerie get her life on track as he had a few surprises for her when they finally reunited after their swap.

The millionaire not only committed to investing £100,000 into her restaurant venture, but also cleared all her debts and transformed her garden.

Sitting opposite each other, Steve went on to say: “We’ve been talking a lot about how we might be able to help you guys because that’s obviously a big part of what we want to do and we’ve thought about three things that we can do to help you.”

He continued: “The first one is already done and it’ll be a surprise when you get home, the second one is about your debt situation, so we wanted to get you out of debt and then the third thing is we want to back your vision, your dream, your passion and your talent for business.

“Support you financially, support you with mentoring, support you with anything and everything you need up to a value of £100,000.”

Valerie broke down in tears as she struggled to get her words out: “Oh, wow. I don’t even know…How do you say thank you? Thank you. Wow, this is amazing.”

With tears streaming down her face she said: “I’m feeling really overwhelmed right now. Happy tears. This can change mine in my family’s life. I really wanted this so much and I’m so glad that my family’s also going to be involved in this because it’s going to change everything for the better.”

BBC Ambulance viewers left in tears over heartbreaking show moment ‘hard to watch’

Viewers of the BBC documentary were left in tears after watching paramedics battle to save a 67-year-old man

Viewers were left emotional after a man tragically died during TV show Ambulance on Wednesday’s episode.

The most recent instalment of the BBC series, which follows ambulance crews in Yorkshire, saw an emergency team respond after receiving a call reporting that 67-year-old Steve had stopped breathing.

Critical care paramedic John was amongst those who raced to the location. As the team began CPR, John informed Steve’s partner Penny: “At the moment, the heart rhythm, Steve’s heart, there’s no electrical activity at all. It’s really not good I’m afraid.”

“I think you need to prepare yourself,” he continued. Penny mentioned that Steve was “quite stubborn”, with John responding: “So maybe, maybe he’ll prove me wrong. We’re not there yet.”

However, following 32 minutes of CPR, the decision was taken to stop and John had to deliver the devastating news to Penny, reports Yorkshire Live.

“Penny we’ve stopped,” he informed her. “I am really sorry.”

As they discussed what had happened, John reassured her: “Don’t second guess it. It wouldn’t have changed anything. Nothing you could have done, would have stopped that from happening.”

Penny recalled that there had been an “incredible sunset” that week, saying: “At least he saw that.”

Audiences were left devastated by the scenes, with one sharing on social media: “Sobbing for Steve and Penny. So glad he saw the beautiful sunset. With love.”

“I can’t deal with cardiac arrests,” one viewer wrote on X, including a crying emoji.

“This is brutal,” another individual commented on the platform. “This programme never fails to have me in tears,” admitted one viewer. “So much respect for the call handlers and paramedics.

“Awww wee Penny xxx, bless that paramedic man for his words of comfort,” wrote another, as a fellow viewer remarked: “Oh my goodness this programme Ambulance is so hard to watch.”

“Poor Penny,” said another moved viewer, while one more observed: “Such a dignified response from this lady to her partner just dying. Bless her heart.”

Ambulance airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesdays at 9pm.

Chappell Roan says she has ‘zero tolerance for aggressive behaviour’ after Jude Law’s daughter left in tears

CHAPPELL Roan has spoken out again in the war of words between her and the famous family who accused her of being rude to fans.

A storm of controversy was sparked when ex-Chelsea and Arsenal footballer Jorginho accused the singer of sending her “aggressive” security over to his step-daughter and allegedly berating the child and her mother at a hotel in Sao Paulo.

Jorginho is married to Catherine Harding who shares the 11-year-old girl, named Ava, with her ex, British actor Jude Law.

After the footballer lambasted Chappell on Instagram, the Pink Pony Club singer posted a video saying she had not noticed the young girl and did not send security over to speak to them.

But then Catherine weighed in on her own social media saying the security was very aggressive and left Ada in tears.

Now that the incident has gone viral, Chappell has issued another statement through her spokesperson.

CELEB ROW

What did Jorginho say about Chappell Roan?

NOT ON

Jude Law’s ex slams Chappell Roan’s denial after security ‘left daughter in tears’

“Chappell was not aware of any interaction between this mother/daughter and a third-party security office,” the spokesperson said.

“She did not see them at breakfast in her hotel, as she said in her video. She did not direct her personal security or anyone on her team to interact with them.”

The statement continued: “Chappell holds her own teams to the highest standards and has zero tolerance for any kind of aggressive behaviour towards her or her fans.”

Catherine and Ada had planned to attend Chappell’s set at the Lollapalooza festival as part of the child’s birthday present, but skipped it after the interaction with the security guard.

The furore kicked off when Jorginho put Chappell on blast when he wrote about an “upsetting situation” that had occurred at the hotel.

“My wife (@catcavelli) is in Sao Paulo for @lollapaloozabr. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire.”

Then Catherine also posted refuting Chappell’s claimsCredit: catcavelli/Instagram

He continued: “By coincidence, they’re staying at the same hotel as this artist.

“During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her.

“And the worst part is she didn’t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything.

“What happened next was completely disproportionate.”

After Jorginho’s post blew up, Chappell filmed a video from her bed to refute his claims.

“I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not. They did not come up to me. I did not do anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe it as there’s no action been taken,” she said.

“I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like that is crazy. I am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something.

“If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”

Jorginho and Catherine now live in Rio de Janeiro where he plays for the club Flamengo.

In 2014, Catherine was briefly in a relationship with Hollywood A-lister Jude Law.

Catherine fell pregnant during their time together, and the singer-songwriter gave birth to daughter Ada.

She and Jorginho started dating in 2019 and the pair welcomed their first child, son Jax, to the world in September 2020.

Jorginho and Catherine tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Lake Como in 2025.

Chappell Roan reacts to Jorginho claim that she left girl in tears

A soccer star has accused a pop star of making the daughter of a movie star cry.

Chappell Roan — who, in recent years, called out fans’ “creepy behavior” and said she “pumped the brakes” on fame to protect her own privacy — was accused over the weekend by soccer star Jorginho of rough treatment of his family.

Roan (letting up on the brakes?) headlined Lollapalooza Brazil over the weekend, and Jorginho was in attendance along with his wife and child. While there, as outlined by People, the footballer said the 11-year-old was thrilled to see the singer while they were dining at their São Paulo hotel. The girl walked by the 28-year-old “Pink Pony Club” singer’s table “to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything,” he wrote.

Although he didn’t name the girl, his wife, Catherine Harding, shares an 11-year-old with Jude Law. Harding, aka Cat Cavelli, is a singer-songwriter and native of Ireland.

Jorginho alleged that, after the girl sat down, a “large security guard” came over and interrupted their breakfast to generally make their lives miserable. The guard allegedly told the girl’s mother “she shouldn’t allow [her] daughter to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ other people.”

The girl was “extremely shaken and cried a lot,” said Jorginho, a player for the Brazilian club Flamengo whose legal name is Jorge Luiz Frello Filho.

Jorginho knows what it’s like to be famous and have fans. (Jude Law also has a little experience in that department.)

Jorginho told his nearly 5 million Instagram followers that he knew what it was like when fans didn’t respect boundaries, and “[w]hat happened there was not that.”

On Sunday, Roan responded on Instagram. She said the guard was not her personal security and that no one — including a starry-eyed 11-year-old girl — had bothered her.

“I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. … They did not come up to me. They weren’t doing anything.”

“I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children.”

She expressed her regrets to the girl and her mom. A representative for the artist did not immediately respond to The Times’ request for further comment.

Roan has shown that she’s not afraid to speak out when she does feel a fan has overstepped. This incident comes after an episode this month in Paris when the singer filmed herself in selfie mode as a swarm of people shouted behind her.

“I’m just trying to go to dinner,” she tells the camera in a video captured by an onlooker, “and I’ve asked these people several times to get away from me.”

Even as she calmly reprimands them, one man continues to ask for her autograph.

‘Tears and grief’: Mother’s Day in Gaza marked by mourning | Israel-Palestine conflict News

Day of intense hardship as mothers mourn children lost in war and children face day without their mothers.

While much of the Middle East celebrated Mother’s Day with flowers and gifts this weekend, in Gaza, the occasion served as a painful reminder of precious lives lost.

Sitting in her tent in Gaza City on Saturday, Em Rami Dawwas remembered the three sons she lost in Israeli attacks, two of whose bodies are still being withheld by the authorities.

“I miss my sons on Mother’s Day. They used to bring me gifts, flowers, sweets, and ask me about my needs. They were the light of my life,” she said, sitting among boxes filled with their clothes, which she cannot bring herself to throw away.

Palestinian children have borne the brunt of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza that began in October 2023, with UNICEF estimating in October last year that 64,000 children have been killed and wounded in Israeli attacks.

Reporting from among the tents in Gaza City, Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary said Dawwas kept the photos of her sons under her pillow, looking at them every day, “as if holding on will keep their memory alive”.

Many mothers spend the day in graveyards, sitting in the only place they can feel close to their dead children, said Khoudary.

‘I just wanted to make her happy’

Maram Ahmed faced a second Mother’s Day without her mother, who she lost in an Israeli air attack that killed her entire family. Her mother was her closest friend, said Khoudary.

“On Mother’s Day, even if I didn’t have money, I would buy my mum a gift from my allowance, even if it was for less than a dollar. I just wanted to make her happy,” said the 14-year-old, sitting in her sparse tent.

“I feel so sad when I see other children with their mothers, but I don’t show it,” she said.

A report published by rights group Amnesty International this month highlighted the “brutal price” women and girls have paid during the war, which started in October 2023. Two years later, Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas agreed to a fragile “ceasefire” that the former has repeatedly violated.

“Amid Israel’s deliberate imposition of conditions of life calculated to bring about the physical destruction of Palestinians in Gaza, Palestinian women face compounded and life-threatening consequences,” said the report.

It cited ongoing mass displacement, the collapse of reproductive, maternal and neonatal healthcare, the interruption of treatment for chronic illness, heightened exposure to disease and unsafe and undignified living conditions faced by women, as well as “profound physical and mental harm”.

Since the October 2025 “ceasefire”, Israeli attacks have killed more than 650 Palestinians, many of them women and children, according to recent figures from the Ministry of Health.

Overall, Israeli attacks have killed more than 72,000 people since the start of the war.

Gogglebox star says ‘that’s got me’ as he breaks down in tears

The channel 4 hit show made a return to our TV screens for a brand new episode

Gogglebox’s Pete Sandiford couldn’t hide his emotions tonight as he broke down in tears during an emotional moment on Friday night’s show.

The television personality initially joined the Channel 4 hit programme back in 2017 during its tenth series alongside sister Sophie. Since then the duo, from Blackpool, quickly became fan favourites as viewers fell in love with their sharp wit, memorable quips and hilarious reactions to the week’s top TV shows and films.

However during Friday’s (March 20) episode of the hit show, things took an emotional turn for Peter as they tuned in to watch Netflix new film, I Swear.

But it was one scene that let Peter in tears as they watched the character John Davidson (played by Robert Aramayo) get interviewed for a job by a school caretaker named Tommy Trotter (played by Peter Mullan).

Throughout the interview, John struggled with her tics and verbal outbursts and he even spat in Tommy’s tea. Despite John’s symptoms being severe, Tommy made John feel accepted and he decided to give him the job.

The moment left the Gogglebox cast feeling emotional, especially Peter who burst into tears. Sister Sophie reached out and offered her support as she rubbed his arm. Pete tearfully said: “That’s got me that.”

I Swear follows the story of real-life Tourette’s activist John Davidson who fights for awareness and understanding about the condition which causes involuntary tics, which can include whistling, clicking, and expletives.

Following his diagnosis aged 15, the inspirational film directed by Kirk Jones follows John’s difficult teenage years in the 1980s when Tourette’s was barely recognised. It continues into the present day, where he is now one of the most prominent campaigners raising awareness for the condition.

The film has been a huge hit as it landed several BAFTA nominations, including for Outstanding British Film, with Aramayo taking home the trophy for Best Actor in a Leading Role. The Guardian called it an “absorbing, compassionate film”, while Mark Kermode said he “absolutely loved it”.

Audiences have also given the film rave reviews, with one IMDb user who saw I Swear at the Toronto Film Festival highlighting the “amazing performances”.

“The performances are so natural that you often forget you are watching a dramatic depiction,” they went on. “Tells the story with a minimum of gloss.

“It had a good chunk of the audience in tears at various points, both for the painful and joyful moments.”

Gogglebox airs Friday night’s from 9pm on Channel 4 and I Swear is available to stream on Netflix

BBC Sort Your Life Out fans left in tears over heartbreaking family death

Viewers of Stacey Solomon’s BBC show were left emotional during the latest episode of Sort Your Life Out.

Viewers were left reaching for the tissues as one mum revealed why she’d called upon Stacey Solomon and her Sort Your Life Out team on Tuesday.

The decluttering squad arrived in south London to assist single mum Almarie and her 10-year-old daughter Marie in transforming their three-bedroom semi, which had fallen into disarray.

Under Stacey’s guidance, Almarie tackled her husband Marcus’s possessions for the first time since his sudden passing three years earlier.

The widow shared the heartbreaking story of how he’d received a cancer diagnosis with a five-year prognosis – yet he died merely two months later, leaving his family devastated.

Almarie had kept all his belongings, and having previously fostered children, the house had accumulated numerous additional items.

For financial reasons, Almarie needed to take in a lodger but couldn’t manage it without clearing out two dozen unused chairs, 204 pairs of shoes, 55 coats, 2,765 plastic toys and considerably more, reports the Express.

Within minutes of hearing the tragic circumstances, viewers flocked to social media to confess they were in floods of tears.

Taking to X/Twitter, one viewer said: “#sortyourlifeout always emotional now,” as another echoed: “And I am gone [sobbing emoji] #sortyourlifeout.”

One more declared: “I’m late starting….. not 10 minutes in and I’m gone [crying emojis] #sortyourlifeout.”

Someone else said: “Oh, you do put us through the emotional wringer! I come to #sortyourlifeout for a cry.

“Lost her husband and Mum in 5 months, that poor woman and her daughter, just heartbreaking #SortYourLifeOut,” another viewer sympathised.

Last week, fans were reduced to tears as the BBC reality programme returned for its sixth series.

Audiences watched care worker Trish and her husband Gerry, alongside their three adult children, tackle the clutter in their family home.

Her devoted husband, who works as a technician and artist, spoke candidly about his recent dementia diagnosis and how it has affected the entire family.

He revealed: “I’ve now been living with dementia for seven years. Unfortunately, over the last year or so, things have been starting to progress. It’s not just my memory; it’s all the mobility I’ve lost, or I’m losing.”

He continued: “If anything was being done in the house or garden, it was me who would do it, the heavy lifting I’d be right in there, no problems whatsoever. Now, I’m lucky that I can lift a knife and fork; it’s been very frustrating.”

Sort Your Life Out is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Chilling documentary confirmed after ‘unimaginable tragedy’ and fans will be in tears

A new documentary has been announced by 5, revealing the devastating impact of a crime that shook two continents

A chilling documentary has been confirmed after a devastating crime, and it will likely leave fans in tears.

5 has announced a compelling two-part documentary series, Trial By Jury: The Killing of Claire Leveque, which offers exclusive access to the murder trial at the Edinburgh High Court that followed the tragic death of the 24-year-old Canadian. The series will also feature Claire’s family as they faced the “harrowing” days of the trial and beyond.

Claire was brutally killed by her boyfriend while living on the Shetland Islands in 2023. Filmed with rare in-court camera access, granted by the Lord Justice General, the chilling events surrounding Claire’s murder will be examined across two hour-long episodes.

The instalments will reveal the “horrific details that shook a close-knit island community in Shetland and left a family in North America heartbroken.”

The case also highlights the profound toll of intimate partners violence, and the challenges of uncovering domestic abuse in rural areas.

Using a fixed in-court rig, Trial By Jury follows the eight-day trial that led to a unanimous guilty verdict and a life sentence with a minimum term of 25 years for Claire’s boyfriend, Aren Pearson.

Judge Lord Arthurson previously described the crime as “a sustained episode of feral butchery”, while paying tribute to the “dignity and restraint” shown by Claire’s family, who travelled from Canada to attend every day of proceedings.

A synopsis for the documentary reads: “From Claire’s small Canadian hometown to the windswept Shetland village where she lived in near-isolation, the documentary pieces together her final months through testimony, archive footage and investigative reporting.

“The series also follows [Claire’s father] Clint and his fiancée, Jenny, as they make an emotional journey to the island to confront their grief.”

For the latest showbiz, TV, movie and streaming news, go to the new Everything Gossip website

In a statement, Claire’s heartbroken dad, Clint, said: “My little girl was stolen from me. I’ll never get to hug her again, hear her laugh or see her smile. I’ll never see the woman she would have become. She’ll never have the chance to be a mother or grandmother, or to know the love a parent has for their child and know that is the love I have for her.”

Gary Davies, consultant editor for commissioning at 5, added: “This thoughtful series gives a deeply human account of an unimaginable tragedy. It shines a light on the justice process and honours the courage of Claire’s family as they seek truth and remembrance.”

Mark Procter, executive producer for Big Little Fish, echoed the sentiment, saying: “We are profoundly grateful to the Judicial Office for Scotland and to everyone who enabled our access to the trial.

“Above all, we are honoured that the Leveque family have entrusted us to document what happened to Claire. We hope this series serves as a respectful tribute – giving her the voice that was so cruelly taken from her.”

Trial By Jury: The Killing of Claire Leveque will be released on 5

Rob Reiner’s famous friends hold back tears as he’s honored at Oscars months after beloved director and wife murdered

ROB Reiner’s friends held back tears at the Oscars as the ceremony honored the late director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, after their tragic deaths.

The couple died in December 2025 after being brutally attacked in their Los Angeles home, and their son, Nick Reiner, is the primary suspect in their murders.

Hollywood was shocked by the loss of Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, and it was expected that there would be a special tribute to them at the 98th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday.

Rob and Michele were honored Sunday in a speech by Billy Crystal, one of the stars of When Harry Met Sally.

Rob famously rewrote the ending of When Harry Met Sally after meeting his wife, Michele, while shooting the film.

“I first met Rob Reiner in 1975. When I was cast as his best friend in an episode of All in the Family,” Billy’s began in his tribute.

“Rob said, it was fun playing your best friend, why don’t we keep it going. And it was a thrill to see him evolve from a great comic actor to a master storyteller.

“His first film was This Is Spinal Tap. You could stop right there … The comedy was turned up to an 11.”

Billy went on to discuss Rob’s other iconic films, including Stand By Me.

“Audiences then lined up to see his funny, charming films, so he gave them misery!” Billy continued.

Most read in Entertainment

“My friend Rob’s movies will last for lifetimes. Because they were about what makes us laugh and cry and what we aspire to be, far better in his eyes, far kinder, far funnier, far more human.”

“And when Michele Singer entered his life, they were unstoppable. A gifted photographer, she not only produced films with Rob, but it was her energy that had them working tirelessly to fight social injustice in the country that they both loved.

“Rob and Michele Reiner became the driving force in the landmark decision for marriage equality across the United States. And their loss is immeasurable.”

He said Rob told him several times that “it meant everything to him that his work meant something to you.”

“And for us, who had the privilege of working with and knowing him and loving him, all we can say is, ‘Buddy, what fun we had storming the castle.”

Billy’s speech concluded with several actors joining him on stage, including Kathy Bates, Demi Moore and Mandy Patinkin.

More late stars honored at the Oscars

Diane Keaton was also honored at the Oscars’ In Memoriam tribute.

Rachel McAdams, who starred alongside the late actress in The Family Stone, took the stage to honor Diane.

“For over 50 years, luminous on screen and indelible in life, believe me when I say there isn’t an actress of my generation who is not inspired by and enthralled with her absolute singularity,” she said.

“She wore so many hats, literally and figuratively, actress, artist, author, activist, but no hat more important to her than being a mother to her two children.

“She meant so much to so many of us. I remember she used to sing this old Girl Scout song on set, which is just so her: ‘Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other is gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That’s how long I’ll be your friend.’

“And so to our friend, Diane Keaton, celebrating a life in silver and gold, a legend with no end.”

Diane, a four-time Academy Award nominee, died in October 2025 of bacterial pneumonia.

Other stars were honored during the In memoriam segment, including Robert Duvall, known for his roles in The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, Robert Redford, known for All the President’s Men and The Sting and Catherine O’Hara, known for her role in Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek.

“She made us laugh until we cried,” Rachel said of Catherine at the Oscars.

The death of Rob Reiner

Corey Feldman, who portrayed Teddy Duchamp in Stand by Me, was reportedly not asked to participate in the tribute to Rob, despite being one of the main characters alongside Jerry and Wil.

A source recently told the Daily Mail that Corey was “devastated” by the apparent snub and “wanted nothing more than to honor Rob.”

In January, Rob was subtly recognized at the Golden Globes by host Nikki Glaser, who ended the show wearing a Spinal Tap cap, a reference to the filmmaker’s 1984 film, This Is Spinal Tap.

The comedian also closed the ceremony, saying, “This one went to 11. Thank you, guys, for an amazing night,” a reference to the movie’s famous moments between Rob and co-star Christopher Guest.

Rob and Michele allegedly had their throats slit while lying in bed, and Nick, who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was battling a drug addiction, has been charged with their murders.

The incident occurred hours after the trio attended Conan O’Brien’s holiday party, where Rob and Nick had an explosive fight about Nick’s behavior.

Last month, Conan O’Brien, host of the 98th Academy Awards, broke his silence about the tragedy during a sit-down with The New Yorker.

“I knew Rob and Michele, and then increasingly got closer and closer to them, and I was seeing them a lot,” the talk show host said.

“My wife and I were seeing them a lot, and they were so — they were just such lovely people.

Undertaking the mammoth task to raise money for Red Nose Day just a week after his dad’s stroke, Greg got on emotional talking about the man he calls “Big Al.”

“I feel elated. I feel a bit overwhelmed by all these people who just turned up out of nowhere. I just burst into tears as I was going up to Blaenavon. It was all a bit much,” Greg said on BBC Radio 1 after the second day of his ride.

“Just thought about… I just thought about everything. Just thought about my dad, thought about my mum. It got way too much. It’s so silly. It must have been the altitude.”

Greg continued: “And then someone gave me a Wales flag and I was holding that and I thought about my old nan, and she’s Welsh. And then I just thought about everything and then everything just made me cry, and I just felt really overwhelmed by it all.

“But the day is done, and I actually can’t believe I’ve managed to get to Abergavenny.”

Before heading off on his mammoth mission, Greg opened up to The Sun about his gruelling training regimen.

“I have been training really hard on my bicycle from about Christmas, and every day has been leg day,” he said.

“It’s been a f***ing nightmare. But it’s all for a good cause and totally worth it.

“I have done thousands of miles, either out in the real world or on a bike in the spare room with a laptop propped up watching Heated Rivalry.”

Greg also confirmed he has an upbeat playlist to keep him going.

He said: “The song I just can’t stop listening to is Aperture by Harry Styles. I’ve also got a lot of Chemical Brothers because that’s just nice, upbeat, good dance music.”

Vernon KaySara CoxJo Whiley and Scott Mills have been cheering him on, while Jamie Laing and Mollie King have been offering advice following their own challenges.

Greg, who has affectionately named his bike Tando Norris, is still hoping for a message of support from Formula One McLaren driver Lando Norris.

He said: “Zak Brown and the McLaren team, if you’re reading this, please donate generously.”

You heard the man, McLaren!

Greg added: “The reason I’m doing this is because it will raise a lot of money for people that don’t have a safety net.

“I feel very lucky in my life. I have great friends and a really great family to support me if things go wrong.

“Imagine a tough time with no one looking after you. That’s what’s going to spur me on.”

MAFS Australia star breaks down in tears after groom’s shock ‘arrest’ vow

A Married at First Sight Australia groom made an unexpected joke during his wedding vows

MAFS: Jacqui instigates argument with Ryan at wedding

A Married at First Sight Australia star has been left in floods of tears after her groom’s “arrest” speech.

The popular dating programme has made its comeback to E4 for its 13th series, introducing a new batch of brides and grooms seeking romance.

The show tracks singletons from around Australia as they entrust their romantic futures to experts Mel Schilling, John Aiken, and Alessandra Rampolla. Each couple meets for the very first time at the altar, and following their “I do” moment, they’ll find out whether they’re genuinely compatible as they navigate their new relationship.

Over multiple weeks, the newly married couples will go on their honeymoon, before setting up home together and participating in numerous challenges.

Four ceremonies have taken place already, with lots of explosive moments unfolding in the opening two episodes. The most recent episode aired on Wednesday (March 11), with two more couples getting matched by the experts, reports OK!.

The first pair consisted of 35-year-old account manager Bec, who characterised herself as a social butterfly who’s never afraid of commanding attention.

She had previously been engaged, but called it off four months ahead of the ceremony, describing it as the most difficult decision she’d ever made, though she felt proud for leaving a situation that wasn’t suitable.

Bec was paired with 34-year-old businessman Danny, who has called Australia home for 12 years since relocating from the UK. Danny was searching for his “ride or die” partner, a strong woman who ignites passion within him and never fails to make him laugh.

Upon meeting at the altar, Bec and Danny appeared pleased with their pairing, with Bec even sharing a joke with Danny’s stripper best man, Will. However, the atmosphere quickly shifted as Danny began his vows.

Danny started by expressing his devotion to his family and promised Bec he would care for her. He then quipped: “I’m looking for a Bonnie and Clyde type of love. With that being said, if I ever get locked up in prison, I’d like you to bail me out.”

Bec immediately pulled back after hearing Danny’s remark, telling cameras: “He seems like a really lovely guy, but I’m a just bit nervous to be honest with you. I think he may have mentioned in his vows if he gets arrested and what not. I know I can be quite wild and fun, but I really want to settle down and it makes me worried.

“I want to be matched with someone that’s serious about being with their forever person, not someone that’s out getting hammered, acting a fool to the point of getting arrested. I’ve given up everything and you’re mentioning getting arrested in your vows. I wanted to come on here to find love and I don’t know whether or not he wants that.”

Bec then broke down in tears, adding: “I just want something serious. I don’t want to be with anyone that gets arrested.”

She later confided in a producer: “I can just feel it, it’s not going to work. He’s not my husband, no way.” After seeing a different side to Danny during the reception, Bec later apologised to her new husband, with the couple sharing a passionate kiss.

Married at First Sight Australia airs Monday to Thursday on E4 at 7.30pm

Ralf Little fights back tears as he shares heartbreaking reason he doesn’t have children

Ralf Little got emotional as he candidly opened up during the latest episode of Will & Ralf Should Know Better

Death in Paradise star Ralf Little fought back tears as he shared the heartbreaking reason he doesn’t have children.

During the latest episode of Will & Ralf Should Know Better, Ralf, 46, and Will Mellor decided to face their fears, from dangling on a trapeze and tackling fatherhood to the ultimate horror of performing stand-up in front of a Glasgow crowd.

At the start of the show, Will, 49, pointed out to Ralf: “I think I’ve actually done something that you would find more frightening than any of that. What I’ve done that I think you’d find more frightening… is have a child.

“Yes, yes, actually commit to something, commitment. I have had two kids and brought them up. So, to give you a little taste, I’m taking you to a place, it’s like a charity set-up, where dads can go and learn how to be good parents. What to expect from a baby, how to be a parent” to which Ralf admitted: “This my living nightmare!”

At the charity set-up, Ralf was asked “what’s the worry about children” to which he admitted: “It’s a lot of work, innit? I bought a bread maker once and I loved making that bread, but after a little while, I was like, I’ll just unplug it and put it under the cupboard. You can’t really do that with babies, can you?”

The leader of the charity set-up then asked: “Ralf, what is it that you’re most afraid of?” to which the former Death in Paradise star said: “I’ve lived a lot of my life having a mentality where there’s nothing I can’t walk away from.

“It’s actually terrifying to me, the idea of loving something so completely and irreversibly. I can’t walk away from it intact. That’s terrifying to me.”

Following the charity set-up and being given a baby doll to look after, it made Ralf think deeper about why he doesn’t have children. He said: “Yeah, it’s been a funny old day. Just in general for me” to which Will added: “I can see it threw some questions into your mind that you weren’t expecting. I could tell from your reaction that you were a bit like maybe there is a reason a bit deeper why I haven’t had children.”

To which Ralf emotionally admitted: “For sure. My parents were fantastic with us and did the best that they could. But their relationship broke down really in a really difficult way and that was very difficult for us.

“You know, there’s no way of putting this that’s not blunt, but, you know, they had three kids and an idyllic family life and then one of the kids was alive one week and dead the next.

“Everything, their entire lives crumbled right in front of their eyes from that moment on. It’s like, you know, you can’t protect them.”

Ralf then fought back tears as he composed himself and continued: “My mum was really… my mum was really protective of us. Really protective.

“And it happened anyway. It happened anyway because you can’t wrap your kids in cotton wool and protect them 24-7. Like, it’s a lot. And it’s only when I’m forced to sort of say these things out loud that I realise quite what a lot it is.”

Tragically, when Ralf was just nine-years-old, his sister, Ceri, then 14, fell 150ft to her death from a cliff during a family holiday to Cornwall.

Ralf has said that the tragedy was partly to blame for his parents’ divorce and deeply affected his other sister Rowena – but it made him push himself academically and in extracurricular activities.

Will and Ralf Should Know Better is available to watch on Channel 4 and 4oD, as well as U.
