Kick-off time: Arsenal vs Atletico is scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time tonight, April 29. It’s the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, giving Mikel Arteta’s side their first chance to secure a place in the final, against either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich, depending on how their matches end. The French and German sides faced off for their first leg last night in a barn storming match which Paris won 5-4.
Match location: Arsenal vs Atletico will take place at the Spanish club’s home ground, the state-of-the-art Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid.
Why is the game important? Despite a packed trophy cabinet, Arsenal has never won the Champions League. Ensuring a good showing away from home will put them in a good position for the second leg, which will be held at the Emirates Stadium in London on Tuesday, May 5 at 8pm.
UK TV channel: Live coverage of the game will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1 and HBO Max. The official broadcast coverage begins at 7pm, with an hour of pre-match analysis and team news before kick off.
Live stream information: TNT Sports is no longer streamed on the Discovery+ app. Instead, viewers who want to stream the game must download the HBO Max app and sign in.
UK radio coverage: Live commentary will be provided by BBC Radio 5 Live on national radio across the UK. Meanwhile, local coverage and fan-focused audio commentary can also be accessed through the official Arsenal app and the club’s website.
Team news is largely based around injuries: Both teams have their own injury worries after intense home league seasons and some full-on games earlier in the tournament. There is a glimmer of hope for the Gunners, with Bukayo Saka potentially fit enough to stage a return, having come off the bench for the team’s recent Newcastle game.Meanwhile Diego Simeone’s men, who knocked out Barcelona to take their place in the semi-finals are no longer in contention for the La Liga title so are expected to be going all out for the trophy here. The side could be without midfield star Pablo Barrios who was injured during a match at the weekend against Athletic Bilbao.
Head-to-head record: On previous form, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid seem fairly evenly matched. In five games played since 2009, Atletico has won one, Arsenal won two and two were draws.
What happens if Arsenal and Atletico tie? Because it’s the first leg there’s no need for extra time if the match ends with one team ahead of the other.
Do away goals count for more? The away goals rule for Champions League games is no longer in effect, meaning there’s no difference when calculating the aggregate depending on where the goal was scored. If at the end of the ninety minutes of the second the teams are equal, this will send the tie directly into extra time. If the aggregate score remains level after thirty minutes of extra time, a penalty shootout will be the final decider on which team advances to the final.

The 100% rated horror series has started streaming but fans still face a wait.
Widow’s Bay is the latest title to land on Apple TV+ and be welcomed with rave reviews. Only the first two instalments have premiered so far as of today (April 29).
Rhys takes on the role of Tom Loftis, Mayor of Widow’s Bay, a quaint island town 40 miles off the coast of New England where something lurks beneath the surface. He is desperate to put the place on the map and turn it into one of the must visit locations for tourists in the US.
However, not only does the island have no Wi-Fi, spotty cellular reception and very little to actually do, Tom must also contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed. Unfortunately, it seems the locals were right. After decades of calm, the old stories that seemed too ludicrous to be true start happening again.
The series is only available to those who have access to the Apple TV+ service. This is available either as a standalone subscription via its own dedicated app, or as an add-on through the Prime Video platform.

Designers Jeanine Hattas Wilson and Julie Hattas Kennedy’s magical transformation of a 4-foot-by-4-foot storage closet at this year’s Pasadena Showcase House of Design almost feels like a metaphor for design showcases themselves: not quite real, but pure fantasy.
“It was inspired by our dad, who used to read to us in Woodstock, Ill.,” Wilson says of their immersive storybook escape, which features a delightful hand-painted mural on the walls and tiny lanterns that, when touched, offer a narrated fairy tale. “We wanted to create a special, intimate space for kids.”

Showhouses are always extravagant, and this year’s event takes place inside the 8,000-square-foot former home of Clara Baldwin Stocker, daughter of land investor and racehorse breeder Elias J. “Lucky” Baldwin. Like her father, Stocker was known for her colorful personality and love of lavish things, including parties that lasted for days. (Baldwin Stocker’s 1929 obituary noted that out of her $10-million estate, about $1.5 million was jewelry, “the collection and wearing of which was her hobby.”)
Many of the 30 revamped interior and exterior spaces in the 1907 shingle-style home include details Baldwin Stocker would have loved. The Midnight Garden Dining Room by the House of Pontovi, for example, has an Italian Murano glass chandelier, feminine Art Deco-style swivel chairs with flapper-style fringe and a gold-leaf ceiling that has replaced Calico Corners fabric. The Entertainment Room by Studio Joshua features statement lighting by Los Angeles designer Jason Koharik, an 11 Ravens custom billiards table and a Champagne cooler built into the marble bar.
And the Bloom Lounge by the Art of Room Design is so large that it can accommodate several different seating areas, a game table and a hidden liquor cabinet — another nod to Baldwin Stocker, who was also known as “the Diamond Princess.”
It’s hard to decide what stands out more at the Baldwin Oaks Estate in Arcadia: the layered interiors that look ready for a shelter magazine, or the smaller spaces, like the closets, mudroom and hidden powder rooms that have been transformed into something special.
Here are a few examples of what to expect at the event, which supports youth music programs throughout Los Angeles County.
The Enchanted Room by Hattas Studios
Identical twins Hattas Wilson and Hattas Kennedy of Hattas Studios transformed a small 4-by-4-foot storage closet into a magical forest with their hand-painted mural depicting characters from stories like “Cinderella,” “The Little Mermaid” and “The Frog Prince.” A young Clara Baldwin appears with her dog, Lucky. You can touch the tiny lanterns to hear a story in each scene or simply curl up in the soft green fuzzy chair, close the velvet curtains and let your imagination wander.
Laundry and Craft Room by Arterberry Cooke Architecture
Architect Barrett Cooke turned laundry into a pleasure in this beautiful room, which doubles as a craft room outfitted with new rose-colored cabinets, playful circular Fireclay Tile, quartzite countertops and stunning views of the San Gabriel Mountains. “I straddled making it utilitarian with how beautiful it can be,” Cooke said of the local artists represented, including ceramics by Jen King, stained glass by Molly Miller, oil paintings by Lareina Holsopple and a print by local artist and Jungalow designer Justina Blakeney. “The art ties it all together.”
The vault in the Family Parlor Room by Jamie Loren Home
The family room is the only space with a television, but with a mah-jongg table, the TV hardly seems necessary. “We wanted to create a room where the family can congregate,” said designer Jamie Loren, describing the cozy parlor painted in the color Viridian Odyssey by Dunn-Edwards Paints. She also turned what used to be a gun closet into a “vault” filled with family heirlooms, including a typewriter, perfume, photos, jewelry and a flask. “This is an ode to Clara,” she said.
Powder Room by Rebecca J. Hansen Design Studio
Details make all the difference in the small powder room by Rebecca J. Hansen, who explains that both the room and the nearby vestibule are focused on mixing patterns while keeping a consistent color palette. Hansen chose patterned terra-cotta tile from Foothill Tile & Stone Co. in Pasadena for the walls, and just outside, she used wallpaper from House of Hackney with mythical animals. Brass hardware from Corston Architectural Detail, chalk pastels and bold wood trim painted a marigold color brought everything together. “It feels like I’m in a castle in England,” she said.
The second floor landing by Blue Brick Design
Designer Lara Hovanessian has transformed the foyer walls of both the first and second floors into a striking display for local artists Blakeney, Susanna Speirs Ali and Lareina Holsopple. The spaces feature the newly released Huntington Collection wall covering by Morris & Co. in the iconic Strawberry Thief motif, pink ceilings and Alberto Giacometti-style lighting from Visual Comfort.
The Mudroom by Gex Designs
Inspired by the shingles of the 1907 home, Noelle Gex Djokovich, known for last year’s playful flower-cutting room, has reimagined this space with custom cabinets, patterned floors and charming details such as a dog bed, a Lewis & Wood fabric skirt and a rag rug from Nickey Kehoe. “Adding layers to a small room makes you feel good when you come home,” she said.
The Magnolia Room by Cordrey Collection
Designer Steven Cordrey says the Magnolia wallpaper reflects his Southern roots and the Phillip Jeffries grasscloth on the walls is practical (“It’s easy to clean,” Cordrey says). He also likes to bring the outdoors in, pointing to the views of the estate’s grand oaks and pool from the second-floor bedroom. There’s a hidden touch too: Rock Zehler’s stylish dressing room, inspired by Art Deco and the 1970s, has a secret closet tucked behind a pocket door.

THE girlfriend of Red Hot Chili Peppers rocker Anthony Kiedis has clapped back at criticism of their 33-year age gap relationship.
In a passionate essay published in Vogue, Eileen Kelly, 30, admitted it was her “first time dating someone significantly older” and joked she had been “missing out my whole life”.

While the American writer and podcaster did not name the Scar Tissue hitmaker, 63, directly, he was clearly referenced, and she told how he had “had more time to get his s**t together”.
Seattle-based Eileen noted in the lengthy piece: “My own boyfriend is more than twice my age, which is either alarming or impressive, depending on who you ask.
“It’s my first time dating someone significantly older, and sometimes I joke with friends that I’ve been missing out my whole life.
“There is something to be said for a man who’s simply had more time to get his sh**t together, and my much older boyfriend seems genuinely excited to be with me — not like he’s biding his time before he can swipe for someone better.

“He is fully aware that he’s one lucky b*****d”.
She went on to detail how the pair first met at a birthday party and bonded over her recent trip to Hawaii, where they discovered he had a property in the exact same location.
In an interview in June 2025, she first revealed their relationship when she told she was dating an older man.
In the November, the pair were then spotted together.

The writer added how their “age gap didn’t register at first” then quizzed: “Is it really so difficult to imagine that connection can exist across generations, and that two people of different ages can find something real in each other?”
Previously, alongside her solo Instagram selfies, fans have expressed concern about the partnership.
One recently wrote: “Wondering what kind of new beginnings you’re looking for with Anthony LOL good luck with that.
“Not jealous just stating a fact.
“Ya I am Anthony’s supporter but I know as well as his fans that’s probably not what he is looking for. Just being honest”.
Yet fans were quick to defend the journalist and one wrote: “Because it’s her life and she’s having fun”.
Seemingly defying the trolls, she posted snaps from her “happy place” Hawaii — which means a lot to the pair after being the subject of their first conversation.
In an essay, posted in the same publication in December, she told how she was “aware” how she had never been engaged or had a joint bank account with a partner.
Although clean of drugs and drink since 2000, Anthony said: “As every heroin addict will know, temptation is always there. But becoming a father has given me a reason to live and stay clean for good.”
Anthony first tried to quit drugs in 1988 after losing the band’s original guitarist, 26-year-old Hillel Slovak through a heroin overdose, but relapsed five years later.
He says: “Every day since has been a battle to stay clean, but my son makes me thankful that I am. I feel very lucky.”
He shares his son, now 18, with his model ex Heather Christie.
Harriet Cowan, who stepped in for Kaleb Cooper on Clarkson’s Farm, has opened up about what Jeremy Clarkson is really like off camera after spending 11 weeks living and working at Diddly Squat Farm
Harriet Cowan has shared her thoughts on Jeremy Clarkson after working on his Diddly Squat farm(Image: Prime Video)
She spent 11 weeks residing in a caravan at Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire assisting the former Top Gear host in managing the land. The ex-full-time nurse charmed viewers with her remarkable farming expertise and sharp-witted comebacks to the TV presenter.
Now Harriet, who left nursing behind to concentrate on farming and content creation, has revealed what Jeremy was like away from the cameras. On the Fed By Farmers podcast, she explained: “It was a different dynamic, he was like a father figure when I was there. He was lovely.”
She continued to disclose that people were eager to express their views on Jeremy after discovering she was on the programme. Harriet commented: “He’s like Marmite isn’t he?
“Off the back of the show people would always be like, ‘Oh I hate that guy,’ or ‘I love that guy,’ and I think he just doesn’t care, which is great.”
Harriet has previously stated she knew who Jeremy was before participating in Clarkson’s Farm, but hadn’t watched any of his earlier work. She admits she “wasn’t really into the cars thing” as a youngster.
However, after being approached by Charlie Ireland, Jeremy’s land agent, she was “intrigued” by the opportunity of featuring on the Amazon Prime Video series. She characterises Jeremy as “very much like every other farmer I’ve ever met”.
Speaking to The Times, she revealed that the former Grand Tour presenter was “very much willing to learn”. Jeremy, 66, found his career taking an unexpected turn towards farming in 2019 when the tenant at his farm retired.
He had originally purchased the 1,000-acre plot in 2008, with the-then Curdle Hill Farm being managed by a local resident. After opting to run the farm himself, Jeremy renamed it Diddly Squat Farm and chronicled his experiences on television.
Harriet reveals that it soon became apparent that Jeremy “wanted to do well by the farm”. She also quips that the television personality has the “physique of a farmer”.
While Harriet stopped short of confirming whether she would be returning to Clarkson’s Farm, she did admit to harbouring ambitions of purchasing her own farm in the future alongside partner James Booth.
She went on to say: “I just want somewhere that’s mine that I can just say, you know, I want to grow store cattle and sell them for fat or whatever.
“I want it to be all mine, that I’ve done all that, and look at them and say, ‘I’ve done that’. So that’s the plan, a few very exciting new TV things coming off and YouTube I’m c**p at.”
While they were con artists themselves, the group, led by Adrian’s character Mickey ‘Bricks’ Stone, targeted greedy, amoral and undeserving individuals, with each episode featuring one complex scam that would reveal itself at the end.
The BBC originally teased: “Hustle will take you into a world with a whole new set of rules, where the good guys can be very bad and you can’t always trust what’s right before your eyes . . .
“An action-packed blend of humour and intrigue, Hustle follows the fortunes of a gang of five expert con artists let loose on the streets of London.
“They are specialists in the ways of the grifter and all are keen to liberate cash from the amoral and undeserving.”
Fans were left devastated when the series came to an end, but Adrian has now left the door open for its return.
During an appearance on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday 29 April, the star spoke about his new West End production, before referring to his widely-praised role.
He told hosts Sarah Campbell and Ben Thompson, when asked if there was any chance Hustle would come back: “There’s always conversations about it possibly coming back.
“It’s something that’s been really well-loved by the public, and it was a great success for the BBC, and we are ever hopeful that it might come back on our screens.”
This comes after the cast of Hustle previously hinted at its comeback in 2023, sending fans wild with a snap of their reunion.
Matt Di Angelo shared a snap alongside the cast including Adrian and Kelly Adams, writing: “We’rrrrreeeee Baaaccckkkk.”
Fans were left delighted, with one writing: “Shut up!!!!!!!!! Oh my god I’m sooooo excited!!” as another said: “Remember you can’t con an honest man so this has best be true.”
His post came despite the cast insisting in 2012 that Hustle “couldn’t be brought back” in the future.
Kelly told the BBC: “We were contracted to be in it for three years, which was supposed to end last year, but the ratings were the highest they’ve ever been.
“So they [the producers] said ‘Shall we just do one more and finish it properly with a fantastic leading storyline so it can’t come back?’ and we said, ‘Yes.'”
Describing the ending, Matt added: “It’s really bizarre. None of us saw it coming.”
Viewers have branded Hustle “TV gold”, with one fan calling it a “masterpiece”, adding: “The Brits have a classic on their hands with this one.”
Another said: “From the marvellous, absolutely thrilling opening title sequence to the vintage splitscreen shots and cliché montage tricks, this is an incredible breath of fresh air from the BBC.”
Yet another echoed: “This is quite simply the best British television programme that I have seen grace our screens,” while someone else added: “It’s probably the best crime drama I’ve ever seen.”
Adam Thomas has revealed David Haye reached out to him following his I’m A Celebrity win, but admits he fired back a blunt response as he opens up on his tough journey in camp

Adam Thomas and David Haye(Image: ITV/Shutterstock)
Days after the chaotic final, Adam Thomas has candidly opened up on his time in the I’m A Celebrity camp and explained exactly what went on between him and ex-boxer David Haye. The duo were embroiled in a bullying row on the ITV show and soap star Adam has now had his say.
The actor said he feels ‘dead inside and numb’ and claimed he wouldn’t have appeared on the show again even if he was paid ‘£10million’ , saying the ordeal has ‘eaten away at his soul.’ Adam said he felt the colour ‘drain from his face’ when Ant and Dec announced him as the winner as his worst nightmare came true.
While David is reportedly planning to sue the broadcaster for their portrayal of him in camp, Adam admits he believes the footage showed was the truth. He also revealed that David, who insists his alleged ‘bullying’ was nothing but ‘banter’ reached out to him over the weekend.
Speaking on his The Thomas Bro’s podcast with brothers Scott and Ryan Thomas, Adam said: Adam went on: “The most disturbing is that I look at David and even after the show and after everything he did, you know he sent me a voice note and was like ‘oh mate, what a great show that was. I’m so happy you won. Congratulations.'”
And he revealed the blunt message he sent his former campmate back. “I just sent him a message back just saying, you know ‘I think this is where we draw the line and I hope that you find happiness bro, but I’m done.'”
Adam said: “The relationship with me and David is even after the camp, even after he told me [out of camp] ‘you’re the nicest guy I’ve ever met and I just wanted to break you’, like, it’s cool. He apologised. I moved on.
“You know, we had voice messages back and forth and we’d just been bantering and having a laugh. I’d just put it all to bed. I think for David and some of the campmates that have come out and been on the live show and everything, I feel like it’s just a show for them. It’s entertainment. It’s fun. For me, it’s not about entertainment. I’m not playing a character or here for anyone else’s agenda. I’m just here to have a laugh and have fun and enjoy this experience.”
The actor said he felt he was “exploited” in the live show. “I think you can see at the end of it, I felt like I was just in the mist of it all and it wasn’t even about me.”
In camp, David was slammed for branding Adam “useless” after he declined to participate in a trial due to a medical condition. Meanwhile, Adam and Jimmy clashed when Jimmy withdrew from a trial, leaving Adam at risk of being sent home early.
Despite the show being filmed months in advance, things hadn’t eased between the trio. On Friday, as Adam was crowned, Haye reportedly goaded the star saying: “You’re not a worthy winner,” before Adam fumed: “This is bullying.”
Gemma Collins stuck up for Adam after his win, calling out David and Jimmy’s actions. Sharing a snap of the star wearing his crown, Gemma fumed: “What a show up!!! Absolutely disgusted with Jimmy and David’s behaviour, the biggest show up in TV history!!! What an embarrassment! To all the took part in the show it was a discredit to the production crew, cast, Ant and Dec biggest disrespect ever!
“Last night was meant to be a celebration instead it was very upsetting!! X Let’s hope Adam will find some energy to absorb his victory!”
Megan Thee Stallion’s Broadway run playing Zidler in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” is ending weeks earlier than planned, and days after she announced a messy split from NBA star Klay Thompson.
The “Wanna Be” hitmaker is pulling out of her first Broadway run weeks sooner than anticipated. Megan announced the news on Instagram alongside a bandaged heart emoji and said she would step away from the production Friday rather than the originally slated May 17.
“Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1,” she wrote. “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!
“Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work! I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL . . . See you soon.”
The Grammy Award-winning rapper made history as the show’s first woman to portray the charismatic cabaret manager Zidler — the character’s full name is Harold Zidler. Broadway veteran Eric Anderson will step back into the role on May 19, but the actor who will cover the interim, from May 2 through 17, hasn’t been announced.
The wildly popular “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” was recently extended on Broadway, with its final performance set for Aug. 30 after a seven-year run.
Although Megan didn’t offer a reason for her departure, the move comes amid a recent health scare and some personal upheaval for the “Hot Girl Summer” chart topper.
On Saturday, the “Savage” rapper aired some dirty laundry on social media, writing in a since-expired Instagram story that her recent beau, Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson, didn’t know if he could be monogamous and had treated her horribly during their time together. “I need a REAL break after this one,” she wrote.
She followed the social media admission with a formal statement issued to People confirming that she and Thompson had split just months after they took their relationship public.
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” Megan said in a statement. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
A VIRGIN Island star was tonight forced to look at her own “ugly” vagina after admitting to having a painful issue that has stopped her from ever having sex.

Virgin Island sees a group of people, who are yet to take the plunge into the world of nookie, get help from a team of sex gurus, headed up by Dr Danielle Harel and Celeste Hirschman.
On tonight’s episode, it was Joy‘s turn to face her sexual fears.
The 22-year-old event coordinator from Falmouth, suffers from vaginismus – a medical condition that causes the vaginal muscles to involuntarily tighten, which can make sex extremely painful or impossible.
However, Joy was seen heading off for a session with one of the resident sex experts, to try and help her overcome this painful issue.
Viewers then watched as she was given a mirror by the expert and told to look at her vagina.
The sex guru assured her she was “beautiful” down there, but Joy was not convinced.
Referring to her intimate area, Joy said: “It’s weird because I feel like she looks ugly.”
Before going on Virgin Island, she revealed: “Despite having a Vaginismus diagnosis for years, I had only made minimal progress and was starting to lose hope of ever being healed.”
The new TV star also added that she also signed up to Virgin Island because she wanted to “overcome her religious shame around sex”.

The event volunteer from Taunton, who suffers from low self-esteem and body confidence issues, was given his first taste of simulating sex by leading expert, Celeste.
The fully clothed pair were seen humping in various positions, in a bid to boost Bertie’s confidence.
At the end of the session a happy Bertie then turned to Celeste and said: “You are an absolute miracle worker! There is no way I’m leaving!”
Before going on the wild Channel 4 reality show, the shy star described himself as a “grade-A virgin” who had never kissed anyone before.
However, he previously admitted that he worried that “sex would feel overwhelming” and was scared of reaching middle age without experiencing intimacy.

This season of Virgin Island sees the 12 participants take on turn-on classes, as well as kink exploration.
Speaking about the new series, expert Celeste said: “I feel like kinks are really really important because so many people have them.
“When I think of it, I think like sex is really play time. And kinks are one way that people play. And a lot of people like to play with power or sensation.
“And all of that enhances the intensity and arousal and experience.
“So we wanted people to have access to all these different kinds of feelings.”

Monroe’s wife, Shawna Stewart, confirmed the news with Complex, telling the outlet that the star contracted meningitis 18 months ago while filming in Las Vegas.
“He went to several different hospitals, where his condition was repeatedly misdiagnosed and because of this negligence, the meningitis went untreated for eight months,” Stewart told the outlet.
She said that by the time doctors properly diagnosed the actor, the infection had already spread “not only to his spine but also to his brain.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, meningitis is an infection and swelling of the fluid and membranes around the brain and spinal cord. The inflammation from meningitis typically triggers symptoms such as headache, fever and a stiff neck. While viral infections are the most common cause in the United States, bacteria, parasites and fungi can also cause the condition.
The family launched a GoFundMe on Monday, sharing that the financial strain has been “immense” and that over the last nine months, Monroe has been in multiple hospitals and two rehabilitation centers. According to the fundraiser, the actor will require around-the-clock care if he regains consciousness and is removed from life support.
“As the whole family and friends do not want to think negative in the event that Samuel is taken home by God,” Tayonna Stewart wrote on the GoFundMe. “Any funds raise would be put towards a proper and respectful celebration of life for his family, friends and fans to attend.”
The actor’s mom, Joyce Patton, also shared the news on Facebook and asked for prayers for her son.
“Please pray for Samuel Monroe Jr. my son who is now on life support,” she wrote on Saturday. “God don’t make no mistakes but he is gracious and I am humbly asking for his mercy and grace for Sam. I love you son … to the moon and back 100 times.”
At present, the GoFundMe has raised 7% of its $50,000 goal, with “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” radio host Kurt Alexander contributing $1,000.
Monroe, who has gone by the stage name “Caffeine” and “Caffamilliano,” landed his first acting gig in 1993, opposite Patti LaBelle on the hit TV series “Out All Night.” The same year, he splashed onto the big screen, portraying Ilena’s cousin in “Menace II Society.”
He’s also acted in films “Tales from the Hood,” “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood,” “What Goes Around Comes Around,” “Set It Off” and “The Players Club.”
Most recently, he acted in 2023 films “Packz” and “Payment Received.”

In a new interview, he said he was “on the way out” when his chemotherapy stopped working.
“I was at a loss, and it looked like I was on the way out, which wasn’t ideal obviously,” he explained.
But thanks to pioneering Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, the cost of which, on average, is £280,000 per patient in the UK , there is no longer any trace of the disease in his body.
Sam told 7 News in his native Australia: “I’ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that’s an extraordinary thing. I’m very, very excited that this can happen.”
He first revealed he was having the immunotherapy in September 2023 and had been in remission for 12 months.
The treatment is personalised to the patient and genetically modifies their own T-cells to fight and destroy cancer cells.
The actor said he is now looking forward to returning to the big screen.
Stoic Sam previously said he wasn’t afraid of dying after being diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma — a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
“I’m not in any way frightened of dying,” he told Australian Story. “That doesn’t worry me. It’s never worried me from the beginning, but I would be annoyed.”
Sam announced his cancer battle in the first chapter of his memoir, Did I Ever Tell You This?
He wrote: “The thing is, I’m crook. Possibly dying.”
The acting stalwart, who was born in Northern Ireland but grew up in New Zealand, is best known for playing Dr Alan Grant in the dinosaur franchise, beginning in 1993.
His successful movie and television career spans five decades and includes varied roles from The Piano, to The Zookeeper and even Peaky Blinders.
He has two biological children — Tim and Elena — from his marriage to makeup artist Noriko Watanabe.
The couple were married for nearly 30 years, before divorcing in 2017.
French actor Tahar Rahim revealed how he and his co-star Izuka Hoyle were handcuffed together during filming for four months.
Speaking about the challenges of filming while attached to his co-star, The Serpent actor explained: “Being handcuffed to someone for four months filming could easily be a nightmare, but Izuka is a beautiful soul.
“We got on incredibly well and became real friends. She’s my partner in crime. It was a pleasure.”
The pair star as highly valued prisoner and mafia informant Tibor Stone (Rahim) and prison transport officer Amber Todd (Hoyle) respectively.

After their prison convoy is attacked by the organised crime group that Stone is testifying against, Todd makes the split-second decision to handcuff herself to him and ensure he makes it to court for the trial in four days’ time.
However, Tibor isn’t just any informant; he’s a trained assassin and can take out many of the people sent to eliminate him before he can reveal all.
This required both Rahim and Hoyle to jointly perform stunts while their characters were handcuffed.
Addressing these challenges, the Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee explained: “Being handcuffed during big stunt sequences made things more complex.
“Our stunt team was brilliant and inventive, open to ideas and incredibly collaborative.
“Izuka and I had to constantly adapt and choreograph every movement together.
“Izuka has great instincts and she’s strong, which made everything easier. I decided to just flow with her and to treat it like a dance.
“For me, acting with a partner is a kind of dance: you listen, you feel, you respond.”
Meanwhile, Big Boys and Scottish BAFTA winner Hoyle explained: “Having them on made us realise just how close we were going to be to each other for such a long period of time, and that took some getting used to.
“Tahar is incredible. He’s physically fit, so in terms of us pushing each other, it was great.
“Our competitive streaks would come out… ‘We can go faster than that. We can do better than that. We can push harder than that.’ And we did. Everyone around us would be like, ‘F****g hell’.”

Musgraves announced the surprise collaboration with the Gámez-Cuéllar brothers — Antonio, 18, Caleb, 15, and Joshua, 12 — in a Tuesday morning Instagram post. They will open for the “Space Cowboy” singer at the famed Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas, on May 3, 4 and 5.
The brothers were members of McAllen High School’s prestigious Mariachi Oro band, which is one of the most decorated youth mariachi groups in the country. The band has performed in such illustrious venues as New York’s Carnegie Hall and the U.S. Capitol.
The Gámez-Cuéllar family first made news when the brothers and their parents were detained by ICE on Feb. 25 after a routine immigration check-in. The eldest brother was sent to a detention center in Raymondville, Texas, while the rest of the family was sent to Texas’s notorious Dilley Immigration Processing Center.
Department of Homeland Security officials told the Associated Press at the time of the detainment that only their parents, Emma Guadalupe Cuéllar Lopez and Luis Antonio Gámez Martinez, were meant to go into detention — but that they “chose” to take their children with them. DHS also claimed they had illegally entered the U.S. near Brownsville, Texas, in 2023.
In an interview with the New York Times, the family’s patriarch refuted the DHS claim, maintaining that the family had entered the country legally through an asylum claim.
After the family was detained, Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro of San Antonio posted a video on Instagram denouncing ICE’s actions.
“Donald Trump said he was going after criminals,” Castro said in the social media clip. “[These kids] were safe enough to tour the White House. And yet, the Trump administration has them sitting in a prison.”
Outrage also came from the other side of the political aisle, with Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a Texas Republican, condemning the family’s situation.
“The Gámez-Cuéllar family’s story breaks my heart. South Texans know better than anyone that we can secure our border and still treat people with dignity — these are not competing values,” De La Cruz said in a statement. “I have repeatedly urged that enforcement target those who actually threaten our communities, not good, law-abiding, talented people who are working through the legal process.”
On March 9, all members of the family were released from detention after the mounting public press campaign.
Following their release, Musgraves — a longtime fan of the manymusicalstylings of Mexico — reposted an article about the brothers being freed with the caption: “Great so come on the road with me.”

Sara Cox’s show is back with a bumper new run of episodes
Presenter Sara Cox has officially cemented her status as the BBC’s golden girl after landing a major new television deal just days after being unveiled as the new host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
In a move that proves the broadcaster is firmly betting on the 51-year-old star, the Beeb has handed Cox a bumper new contract for her hit series, The Marvellous Miniature Workshop.
Insiders say the move is a “huge vote of confidence” in Sara, who is now arguably one of the most in-demand women in British broadcasting. The BBC One show, which Sara hosts, has been recommissioned with more than DOUBLE the number of episodes. It will also be extended from 30 to 45 minutes.
The crafting show is seen as a “new Repair Shop” for the channel and was a big hit when it launched at the end of last year. A BBC insider said: “This is a massive show of faith in Sara who is going down a storm with audiences – and the BBC is backing her all the way.”
The show sees Sara and a team of expert miniaturists recreate cherished buildings and locations tied to contributors’ personal histories. BBC bosses have upped the show from eight to 20 shows.
Sara said: “I’m absolutely over the moon about the new series of Marvellous Miniature Workshop, it’s easily the most heartwarming and wonderful programme I’ve ever been involved with. I can’t wait to hear more stories, help unearth more memories and watch our superb miniaturists breathe life back into places long since gone or neglected.”
The show – which was nominated for a Royal Television Society award earlier this year – is made by EarlyBird, the newly launched production company founded by Dom Bird.
Bird, who is also the executive producer of Gladiators and The Apprentice, said: “I’m delighted Sara’s returning to BBC One for this new run.
Seeing audiences respond so positively to The Marvellous Miniature Workshop has been a real pleasure and I’m thrilled that the BBC has commissioned EarlyBird to deliver this super-sized order.
These extended 45-minute episodes will enable Sara to immerse viewers even further into the extraordinary artistry of our miniaturists, showcasing the programme’s exceptional ability to capture the magic in the minutiae.”
Rachel Platt, commissioning editor for BBC Daytime added: “We’re delighted to be able to bring back this absolute treat of a series with an extended run and run time. Sometimes small things need bigger packages.”
News of the new TV deal comes after Sara was announced as Radio 2’s second female breakfast host, after Zoe Ball. It came after Scott Mills was sacked by the BBC over an investigation into serious sexual offences involving an underage boy.

They aren’t just famous in the UK, Royal Blood have also achieved global success and played sold out shows and festivals across the world.
They have also performed with fellow rock icons including Muse and Foo Fighters, who both personally invited them to support them on their stadium tours.
Previously speaking to The Sun about performing with these huge bands, Ben told us in 2023: “Muse are a fantastic band for us to open up for because our fans kind of have the same DNA.
“So, for us to go out into those stadiums is like playing to a lot of our fans really, but in places where we wouldn’t be able to play normally.
“Like the Stade de France in Paris, which was amazing.

BBC viewers are already hooked on the new crime drama starring Sheridan Smith.
The Cage recently made its debut onto our TV screens and a number of fans have already binge-watched all five episodes with many calling for another season.
It comes as no surprise that viewers are gripped on the show. Not only is the cast lead by BAFTA-winner Sheridan but its creator is the BAFTA-winning Tony Schumacher, who created the acclaimed police drama The Responder.
Alongside Sheridan, her co-star Michael Socha also leads the cast of the popular series, which follows two financially struggling Liverpool casino employees who end up confronting dangerous local criminals and the authorities after siphoning money from the casino safe.
Shot in and around Liverpool and Merseyside, the narrative centres on Leanne (Sheridan), a single mother and casino cashier who begins siphoning cash from the safe to rescue her family home.
However, when she discovers that her boss Matty (Muchael), a gambling addict, is engaged in the same activity, both of their lives begin to unravel.
The duo forge an unexpected alliance to conceal their theft, but quickly become entangled with local gangsters and the police.
The synopsis states: “Leanne is the charismatic cashier at an inner-city casino who finds herself threatened with losing the family home and starts skimming cash from the casino safe to secure her family’s future.
“When Leanne discovers her boss Matty is doing the same thing, their lives are set on a collision course; with each other, the local gangster they’re stealing from, and the police.
“As Leanne’s loyalties are pulled in different directions, Matty battles with his inner demons meaning the pair will have to play every hand perfectly.”
Viewers have wasted no time sharing their reaction as one viewer said: “I just finished watching it, so good. I hope they have a season 2.”
Another wrote: “#thecage Just finished binge watching this series and loved it. Great cast especially the performance of Michael Socha. Some great music in there as well.”
A third commented: “Binged The Cage in one sitting, fantastic show! Well done all involved.” Another said: “Binged the whole series tonight. I really enjoyed it, proper good British drama and great cast/performances,”
Meanwhile another added: “Loved it!! It was so good had me on the edge of my seat.” While another called for a second season, writing: “Michael and Sheridan were absolutely phenomenal, can’t wait for series 2?”
Half Man is Richard Gadd’s next major show after his global success with Netflix’s Baby Reindeer.

Half Man: Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell star in trailer
Richard Gadd is Half Man’s creator and executive producer but he wasn’t always going to star in the BBC drama.
After they find themselves unexpectedly living together, Ruben (played by Stuart Campbell) and Niall (Mitchell Robertson) become like brothers, one fierce and loyal, the other meek and mild-mannered.
Over the course of six episodes, Half Man follows the pairs’ lives over the next 30 years until Niall’s (Jamie Bell) wedding day and violent Ruben ( Richard Gadd ) brings trouble.
While Baby Reindeer star Richard Gadd created and executive produced this new BBC series, he wasn’t initially going to portray Ruben.
It wasn’t until he was convinced that he was right for the part by Billy Elliot icon Jamie Bell that he decided to take on the ruthless role.
Speaking at a Q&A with the BBC, Gadd explained: “I wasn’t going to do it to begin with.
“I wasn’t going to do Ruben, because acting in something and directing and doing everything else is a lot.
“You have to see a show from the inside and the outside which is actually the main pressure of the role.
“So I wasn’t going to do it, I didn’t want to do it. Baby Reindeer was out and that’d take one thing off my plate.
“But Jamie [Bell] was the first to suggest it. He was like ‘have you ever thought about doing this?’
“And it sort of terrified me in a way. I was like ‘Wow. That’s real far.’
“But I often feel that what scares you in life, you should probably do it.”
While Gadd’s co-star Jamie Bell shot to fame as Billy Elliot in the iconic 2000 film, he is set to take on another unforgettable role.
Bell will be joining the Peaky Blinders universe in the upcoming two-season sequel as Tommy Shelby’s (Cillian Murphy) son Duke Shelby in the 1950s.
The role of Duke was originally portrayed by Saltburn star Barry Keoghan in the Netflix film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
Half Man premieres on Tuesday, April 28, at 10.40pm on BBC One.
