Panama’s president has declared a major disaster after two earthquakes and dozens of aftershocks struck the country’s south. The magnitude 7.5 and 6.6 earthquakes shook Panama’s Herrera province on Friday, destroying buildings, and disrupting power supplies.

Venezuelan rescue dog ‘Tsunami’ has been honoured with a bronze statue in Maracaibo for his search-and-rescue work after deadly earthquakes in June. The Border Collie reportedly helped locate at least 26 survivors in the aftermath of the quakes, which killed more than 6,500 people.
