Heated Rivalry will be retuning to Sky next year for UK audiences with two new leads

Smash hit romance series Heated Rivalry will be returning to screens and there is one face that will be surprisingly familiar.

Having first been aired on Canadian streaming service Crave back in November 2025, it was then picked up by HBO Max in the US and was renewed for a second series just a month after it became a huge hit around the world.

Based on the bestselling book by Rachel Reid, it follows two elite professional hockey players who have a secret love affair. According to Sky: “The first season told the story of rival hockey players Shane Hollander (Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Storrie).

“Bound by ambition, rivalry and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understood, what began as a secret fling between two fresh-faced rookies evolved into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery.”

Confirmed to return to Sky and NOW in Spring 2027 in the UK, it was today announced (August 7) that Justice Smith and Charlie Gillespie have also been confirmed as new cast additions playing Harris Drover and Troy Barrett.

Justice Smith may already appear familiar to some fans, but who is the star and where have you seen him before?

Who is Justice Smith?

Justice Smith is an American actor well known for his role in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as well as I Saw the TV Glow and Pokemon Detective Pikachu.

Aged 30, Justin made his on-screen acting debut back in 2012 with thriller Trigger Finger and some television programmes before his first major role as Radar in Paper Towns in 2015.

Fans may also recognise the star from his appearance in Every Day (2018) as well as Sharper in 2023 and more recently, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

Writer, director, and executive producer Jacob Tierney and executive producer Brendan Brady said about the cast announcement: “Rachel Reid has given us two beautifully layered characters in Harris and Troy who you can’t help but root for.

“From the start of the casting process, we knew we were looking for actors who could create something truly special together and bring that same depth and heart to the screen.

“Justice and Charlie do exactly that. They immediately connected with the vulnerability and resilience at the core of these characters, bringing an instinctive understanding of who Harris and Troy are.”

Heated Rivalry season 2 will be coming to Sky and streaming service NOW in Spring 2027.

Brought to life by the creator of Lupin and Hijack, War is an upcoming eight-part Sky drama on the “headline-grabbing” divorce between a tech entrepreneur and an international film star.

Dominic West leads the cast as Morgan successful businessman Morgan Henderson with his soon-to-be ex-wife and actress Carla Duval played by Sienna Miller.

They will be thrown into the “high-stakes world of two of London’s most prestigious rival law firms” who will stop at nothing to secure victory for their clients.

War will be making its debut on Friday, October 3, on Sky and its streaming service NOW, with its official trailer now out and it’s a gripping watch.

What’s even more exciting is that the future of War has already been guaranteed ahead of its season one debut. Sky has given the drama a two-series order with production currently underway on its second season.

Underneath the bitter tension between West and Miller’s characters, there’s also the competition between “London’s most powerful lawyers”, Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne.

Screw actress Nina Sosanya is behind Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi as The Crown star Pip Torrens plays John Smallwood from Cathcarts & Sons.

Meanwhile, their counterparts and “fierce rivals” at Taylor & Byrne are portrayed by The Great’s Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne and Sexy Beast’s James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor.

Then there is ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, played by Shadow and Bone’s Archie Renaux, who quickly realises that it’s a ruthless world where “winning is everything”.

Other memorable cast members set to feature in War include The Thursday Murder Club’s Celia Imrie, Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed, Mint actress Emma Laird and Gavin and Stacey legend Adrian Scarborough, just to name a few.

War debuts on Friday, October 2 on Sky and streaming service NOW.

An HBO miniseries has been hailed as the ‘best of the best’ by fans, who say no show or film compares – and it’s streaming on Amazon Prime and NOW

TV fans have lauded a gripping war drama, calling it “the best of the best” and insisting no other show or film matches it. The series proves perfect for admirers of the popular 2001 American war drama miniseries, Band of Brothers.

So, what’s the show? It’s the seven-part television miniseries Generation Kill, which was produced by HBO and originally broadcast from July 13 to August 24 2008.

It was adapted from Evan Wright’s 2004 book sharing of the same name, which documented his experiences as an embedded reporter accompanying the US Marine Corps’ 1st Reconnaissance Battalion throughout the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The extensive ensemble cast includes Alexander Skarsgård, Jon Huertas, James Ransone, Lee Tergesen – playing Wright, though characters only address him using nicknames – alongside many others.

The series earned recognition for its authenticity and emphasis on the bizarre circumstances facing Marines navigating prolonged boredom and volatile combat while dealing with questionable administrative decisions from senior command.

These often incompetent decisions – coupled with inadequate communication – result in troops experiencing frustration and confusion, while simultaneously managing constant equipment shortages.

The miniseries additionally captures the camaraderie among Marines and the gallows humour they employed as a survival strategy during such challenging, intense and unpredictable circumstances.

Generation Kill was created by The Wire’s David Simon and Ed Burns and is renowned for its unflinching use of authentic military terminology, while depicting the Marines as genuine, imperfect people rather than the steadfastly patriotic heroes typically portrayed in war films.

Though it originally broadcast on HBO in 2008, the miniseries is now accessible to stream on platforms such as NOW and Amazon Prime, although subscription add-ons are necessary to view through Prime.

Generation Kill continues to receive regular praise from TV fans and holds an impressive 86% rating on popular review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.

One viewer said: “Right up there with Band of Brothers, Peaky Blinders, and The Pacific. The best of the best. First watched this over 12 years ago when it was new, and it’s still the greatest to this day.”

Another agreed: “It’s Band of Brothers during the 2003 Iraq invasion. Great writing and remarkable acting make this one a must watch TV show.”

A third wrote: “The action is a little over-the-top, but the characters, the dialogue and the attitudes all pretty perfectly capture 21st century military life. This is one of HBO’s truly great pieces of art.”

While a fourth said: “The more you watch it, the better it gets. It’s difficult for me to put into words, but to this day I still have not watched any show or even movie as good as this.”
