Tourists horrified as ‘faeces fountain’ bubbles up through streets in holiday hotspot

A ‘faeces fountain’ has been filmed bubbling up through the streets of a popular UK expat hotspot – with horrified locals sharing footage and confirming it ‘smells awful’

Horrified locals at a Brit holiday hotspot have shared grim footage of what seems to be human waste bubbling up through the ground during heavy rain.

Shocking images show rising sewage lifting a manhole cover and spilling onto the pavement. The pounding rain liquefied the waste, causing it to quickly flood the surrounding area, turning it a murky brown. The video, shared online on October 29, was captured on a main road in Fuengirola – a favourite spot for British tourists and expats – on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

“It smells awful,” commented a local passer-by. A spokesperson from the town hall stated: “We have a special team in place, with vehicles and staff working across the city to inspect and act where needed. The area is being monitored, and work is underway to get everything back to normal.”

Social media users took to the comments section to poke fun at the situation with one person saying: “When you lose the battle just as you’re reaching the bathroom.” Another video, shared the same day, shows a “faecal fountain” further up the coast in Torremolinos – another British holiday hotspot. An ankle-deep torrent gushed down the road, with a column of spray rising in the centre like a water feature. Spain’s Andalusia region woke up to chaos yesterday as a violent storm battered the area with torrential rain, tornadoes, and flash floods.

Huelva and Seville provinces were hit hardest, with Huelva recording up to 160 litres of rain per square metre. It comes one month after eight people were injured in an explosion on a “tourist boat” in the Costa del Sol resort. Three of the casualties have sustained what are being described as serious injuries and have been taken to hospital. The incident occurred as the motorboat, described locally as a tourist boat, was leaving the marina in the Spanish town.

Footage from the scene showed firefighters in the marina dousing the flames with hoses from the closest point on dry land after locals on jet skis and other boats went to the aid of the stricken passengers and helped try to put out the fire. The alarm was sounded around 12.20pm on October 4 with several witnesses calling the emergency services as a black plume of smoke rose into the air which was clearly visible from nearby beaches. The cause of the explosion is not clear.

A fisherman working in the area said: “It was an open boat made of polyester, which is a very bad combination with fuel because it burns very quickly.” The boat sank as a result of the fire on board. The area where the incident happened has now been sealed off as an investigation gets underway.

Fuengirola Town Hall said in a statement: “The Rescue and Lifesaving Service, the Fire Department, and the Local Police of Fuengirola, as well as the Civil Guard, responded today to a fire on a boat sailing in the marina, near the mouth of the harbour. For reasons which are still unclear there was an explosion and the boat caught fire. Within minutes, rescue workers from the Rescue Service reached the crew and brought them to safety.

“A total of eight people were on board. All of them were injured, three of them seriously, and they were placed in the care of emergency medical responders. As a result of the explosion, the boat sank and officials from the Andalusian Ports Agency are closely monitoring the situation to assess the need for anti-spill measures.”

Couple horrified by ‘dog food’ at hotel before ‘disgusting’ pool discovery

One couple were left seriously disappointed when they arrived at their four-star all-inclusive hotel in Greece for 10 days and claimed the meals were so bad, ‘I wouldn’t even serve the food to a dog’

A seething couple who spent more than £2K on an all-inclusive holiday claim their hotel meals “looked like dog food” and the swimming pool was “disgusting.”

Erin Wells, 24, and Jordan Evans, 25, booked a 10-night stay at a four-star hotel in Crete, Greece, through easyJet Holidays to celebrate their birthdays. They jetted off with excitement on 28 September after seeing a slew of positive reviews and paid a total of £2,218.

However, the couple’s holiday soon turned into a nightmare. They said they encountered issues with their room and the hotel facilities, including the meals being served, which they claimed were “unmarked meat” with “grim desserts”.

READ MORE: Brits going to Benidorm this month warned they could be targeted by costly crimeREAD MORE: Man ‘forced to sleep in wheelchair’ after booking ‘accessible’ Bristol hotel room

Erin, from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, recalled: “We went down for lunch and saw nothing was labelled, there was just unmarked meat.

“Later on into the holiday, I went up to one of the chefs and asked what the meat was, and she opened the container, picked up a piece of the meat, ate it and said, ‘Well, I think it’s chicken’.”

The 24-year-old claimed: “Nothing was marked, so you didn’t know what you were eating. They were just sat out at room temperature. Nothing about them was appealing. They were inedible.

“The food as a whole was just disgusting. They look like dog food. It’s not even like they were trying to make the food look presentable. I wouldn’t even serve the food to a dog.”

Left severely disappointed by the food on offer, the couple splashed out an additional £600 on meals away from the hotel, despite being on an all-inclusive package. Erin explained: “We only ate at the hotel a couple times.”

But the food wasn’t the only problem. While attempting to relax on the sun loungers around the hotel pool, the couple noticed they were “mouldy”. Erin claimed: “I didn’t get in the pool once because it was so disgusting. There was mould all around the side of the pool and sunbeds.

“We were there for 10 days and never saw anyone clean that pool. I can’t believe they’re still open, it was just disgusting. If I’d got in, I’d have probably got ill.”

In addition, they also encountered issues with their room when it apparently flooded from the shower. Erin shared: “When we arrived, we just went straight to our room because we were just so tired. It wasn’t until the next morning that we noticed things.

“That morning, I noticed our shower kept flooding. As soon as you had a shower, the water would leak out into the room.

“I thought the issue was just with our room, but it wasn’t until we started talking to other couples there that we realised all of the rooms flooded.”

Erin labelled their getaway a “holiday from hell” and claimed the hotel was a “health hazard” due to the issues they experienced. Despite seeing numerous positive reviews online, she felt that the hotel listing was “seriously misleading” and the photos were “so far from what it’s actually like there”.

An easyJet holidays spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to hear Erin didn’t have the holiday experience she expected. We are in contact with Erin to offer a gesture of goodwill and understand what went wrong so that we can investigate these directly with our hotel partner.”

In the Instagram post Kristen can be seen with her legs wrapped around the Parenthood star, as he pulls her close to him.

However, it wasn’t the picture that caused a stir with fans – it was the caption.

Writing next to the post Kristen wrote: “Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.’❤️”

But some fans thought this was an “odd” thing to write to commerate such a milestone in their relationship.

However other fans were loving the post, with one saying: “That’s the most romantic thing I’ve heard! Lol.”

Another added: “I get this, this them. It’s sweet.”

This one commented: “Love you guys!”

This isn’t the first time that the couple have caused a stir.

In July, Dax shared a NSFW picture of his wife doing a handstand in the nude.

In the snap, Kristen can be seen completely naked – except for a pair of knee-length compression socks – while doing a handstand.

In the caption, he penned, “People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen’s.

“This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right.

However, this fan said: “I wouldn’t be mad at Dax for posting if I also looked this good! Go girl.”

Another echoed: “I’d love the confidence to cartwheel naked lmao.

BECOMING A COUPLE

Kristen and her husband Dax began dating back in 2007, with them announcing their engagement in 2010.

The couple then delayed their marriage until the state of California passed legislation on legalising same-sex marriage, and when this happened in 2013, Kristen then asked Dax to marry her on social media.

Virgin Atlantic passenger with severe allergy was horrified to see dessert on flight

Josie North, who has a nut allergy, faced a “very scary situation” on a flight from Los Angeles, California, to Heathrow Airport and complained to the Virgin Atlantic team

A tourist with a severe nut allergy was left terrified after a pecan pie was primed to be served as a dessert on her flight.

Josie North alerted Virgin Atlantic attendants of her allergy and was assured no nuts would be served on the plane from Los Angeles to London Heathrow. However, just 15 minutes into the 10-hour journey Josie spotted the nutty dessert offering on the menu, and immediately called over an attendant.

The 28-year-old Brit, who is allergic to all types of nuts, said today: “I felt sick to my stomach. There was a chance I could die if that many people around me were eating nuts all at once.

“I told him [the attendant] there was just no way this pecan pie could be served. This was a very scary situation for me. If I was told they were serving actual nuts, and everyone around me is going to be eating nuts, I wouldn’t have got on the flight.”

READ MORE: Paracetamol makers hit back as Donald Trump issues advice to pregnant womenREAD MORE: Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and TK Maxx customers told to ‘return’ products to stores

The issue has been topical in recent years following the death of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, 15, on a British Airways flight. She had eaten a baguette – albeit bought at Pret a Manger – which contained sesame seeds, to which the teen was allergic.

But Virgin Atlantic staff had spoken to Josie to assure her flight attendants would accommodate her needs ahead of the flight last month. Josie, who runs a party card games business, was told Virgin is a peanut-free airline only, and so she insisted on speaking to another member of staff on the plane.

“I was very adamant that this was a very, very dangerous situation for me, especially as we were already in the air at this point,” Josie, from London, said. Eventually, the captain was involved and agreed the pie should be removed from the menu and replaced with Oreos and KitKats.

But Josie wants to raise awareness of her experience, and remind large organisations of the dire dangers of allergies. When she boarded the flight, the entrepreneur asked the attendant to make an announcement to let other passengers know someone on board had a nut allergy. She claims the employee only announced someone had a peanut allergy – while Josie is allergic to all nuts.

A “persistent” Josie insisted they do a second announcement, which they did, but shortly afterwards, she was horrified to see the nut dish on the menu.

Josie said: “I understand it might not be easy to eliminate anything that may have been contaminated by or made in the same factory as nuts.

“But to actively include food items that contain nuts on a flight is extremely dangerous and unnecessary. I’m sure most people go hours and if not days without having a single nut on land so why is it so necessary to have nuts mid-air with no access to emergency hospital treatment?

“I’m sure people would be equally as happy with a chocolate brownie or an apple crumble for their dessert! And there may even be children on the flight who don’t even know if they have nut allergies yet ” so what is the point in serving such a common allergen?”

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said: “We’d like to apologise to Ms North for any incorrect information she may have received prior to her recent flight with us.

“We would like to reassure her that a full investigation is taking place. The health and safety of our customers is always our top priority and for any special requirements including allergies we ask that customers inform our Accessible Travel Services teams in advance of their flight.

“For the safety of any customers travelling with an allergy we would strongly encourage customers to take all necessary precautions including bringing their own subsistence on board and to prepare for the possibility of inadvertent exposure.”

‘Knifeman’ arrested after members of the public & cops ‘attacked’ in front of horrified students outside college

A ‘KNIFEMAN’ has been arrested by police following a knife attack as two people have been rushed to hospital.

Cops rushed to the scene after reports a man armed with what appeared to be a knife on Great Horton Road in Bradford.

He was detained by college security staff and arrested by attending West Yorkshire Police officers.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting two members of the public and assaulting two emergency workers.

He was also arrested for a racially-aggravated public order offence and causing damage to a police vehicle.

The two injured members of the public have been taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

A small gardening tool was seized by police at the scene, police say.

Detective Inspector Ailis Coates said: “We know that this incident will understandably cause some concern in the community.

“I would like to reassure people that the suspect was quickly detained by security staff and arrested by the police.

“We understand that this incident has been witnessed by a large number of people and that some people may have filmed bits of it.

“We would ask them to please share this footage with the police as it could greatly assist us in our ongoing investigation.

“We currently have a police scene in place on Great Horton Road and people can expect to see our neighbourhood policing colleagues in the area providing reassurance to college staff and students and the wider community.”

I tested Google’s new Pixel 10 Pro XL & was horrified by how GOOD the camera is – it comes with free perk worth £190 too

GOOGLE has always excelled when it comes to smartphone cameras – but the latest effort might have gone too far.

When I tried out the new Google Pixel 10 Pro XL’s star feature I gasped and said “Good God”.

A hand holding a smartphone displaying the app drawer with various Google apps.

6

Camera features are where Google has gone big once again

I showed friends some of the results and they were stunned – if a little disturbed – by what the device’s mega zoom was capable of.

My colleague Sean Keach has already tried the smaller Pixel 10 Pro and has given his verdict on the identical camera features on there too.

But is it all worth it?

As The Sun’s main Android smartphone reviewer I’ve been putting the Pixel 10 Pro XL through its paces and here’s what I found…

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: Look and feel

Google has stuck to a pretty consistent, solid look on the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

As ever with annual upgrades, you may even struggle to tell the difference between last year’s Pixel 9 Pro XL which I also reviewed.

I love the mat glass back and the shiny G logo, it just gives off such a confident premium vibe.

The camera bar is pretty much the same as last year too and I’m still undecided about the bulkiness of it, even though it’s quite tidy and neat.

But given the sorts of photos it takes, all that kit has to be packed in somewhere.

The display has had a noticeable upgrade this year, which is brighter and bursting with crisp detail too.

However, the Pixel 10 Pro XL hasn’t been taking a techy dose of Ozempic like Samsung and iPhone this year with thinner models – it weighs 232g, up a bit on last year.

I absolutely adore the new colours this year too, with Moonstone (the one I’m reviewing) Jade, Porcelain and Obsidian.

Sun tests Google’s 100x Pro Res Zoom on new Pixel 10 Pro phone

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: Performance and features

Google continues to use its own Tensor chip in Pixel smartphones and this year’s Tensor G5 kit is said to be about 35 per cent faster.

It certainly operates smoothly and without any hiccups in my testing – but this chip isn’t as powerful as the Snapdragon chip found in most other top end smartphones around.

The handset runs on Android 16, the latest version of the operating system and it’s my absolute favourite around – which should be a given seeing as Google owns Android.

A lot of the features are centred on AI once again and most are photography based, which I’ll go into later.

But there are some other tools such as Voice Translate, which translates calls in real-time and sounds like each speaker’s own voice.

Having tried it with my partner in French, it was somewhat eerie to hear.

And it’s all done on device, so no sensitive call conversations are sent off to the cloud.

Google is also among the best for offering quick and fast Android upgrades for years to come, with a commitment to seven operating system versions and seven years of security upgrades.

Who offers free updates longest?

The longer you receive updates, the longer you can safely continue using your smartphone – with the latest features thrown in too for free.

Samsung
Samsung offers at least seven generations of OS updates and seven years of security updates on most of its smartphones, even its latest cheaper FE model.

OnePlus
At the launch of the OnePlus 13, OnePlus committed to at least four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.

Xiaomi
Xiaomi offers four years off Android updates and five years security updates.

Google
For the Pixel 10 series, Google said that devices would receive at least seven years of support.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: Battery

You can easily get a good day’s worth of use out of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL with a good mix of browsing, messaging and Netflix as I tend to test it on.

But it’s not the best battery around – I got more out of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

There is fast charging though, that’ll get you from zero to full in about an hour and a half with a compatible plug charger.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: Camera

The camera on the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is where things get really juicy.

You have a treasure trove of powerful lenses paired up with AI power to enhance everything.

There’s a 50-megapixel main camera, 48-megapixel ultrawide and 48-megapixel 5x telephoto, as well as a 42-megapixel selfie snapper.

The photos I get on a Pixel are always super impressive with incredible detail and popping with vibrant colour.

It exudes beauty inside and out, and makes taking stunning photos effortless

This year’s shocker is the Pro Res Zoom which can get extremely detailed shots from a remarkable distance, seeing things my naked eye cannot.

It can go up to an eye-watering 100x.

Anything above 30x onward uses an AI model on the phone to recreate bits lost from digital zoom, so it does raise questions about how real the results are.

Whatever way you look at it, the images are highly convincing, as you’ll see from the snaps I took from the same position below with no zoom, a 10x zoom, a 50x zoom and a 100x zoom.

One thing to note: when using the zoom faces are automatically blurred.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: Price

One bit of good news about the price is it hasn’t increased from last year’s models.

So the Pixel 10 Pro XL starts at £1,199.

If that’s a bit steep for you, you might want to consider the Pixel 10 Pro instead which has much of the same in a smaller physical form from £999 instead.

There’s also a freebie worth £190 included with all the Pro models.

You get access to Gemini Pro for a whole year, which is Google’s more powerful and fast AI system, capable of extra skills such as Veo 3 Fast for text-to-video generation.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: Verdict

The Google Pixel continues to be my favourite Android smartphone around even if little has changed.

It exudes beauty inside and out, and makes taking stunning photos effortless.

I do wish Google would focus on trying to boost the battery a bit though instead of AI features.

And although I’m not a power user myself, those who are will surely appreciate a bigger upgrade in that department too.

Shocking moment maniac armed with axe chases man down the street in broad daylight as horrified residents watch on

THIS is the horrifying moment a maniac brandishes an axe as he chases a man down the street in broad daylight.

Horrified neighbours can be heard yelling out at the two men as the terrifying confrontation unfolds.

The footage was filmed in Bearwood, in the southern part of Smethwick, West Midlands.

A bald man wearing a dark gilet jacket and grey t-shirt wields the axe above his head as he confronts another man who tries to defend himself by holding his hand out and walking backwards.

Raised voices can be heard but it is unclear where they are coming from.

The dark-haired man wearing a grey tracksuit, who tries to defend himself, has his right arm stretched out in front of him as the bald man steps forward to take a swing at him with the axe.

As the man in the tracksuit steps backwards he stumbles and falls to the ground as the bald man steps forward and once again raises the axe above his head.

The bald man then stands towering over the other man who is sitting on the pavement with his arm stretched out.

Voices shout out as the bald man appears ready to attack.

Fortunately, the attacker then pauses as he appears to see sense and lowers his axe and walks away.

As he starts to walk away he then turns around pointing to the other man who is getting up off the floor and words are exchanged.

Luckily, there is no bloodshed and neither man appears to be injured.

A caption on the video says: “Man ain’t playing with the axe” while the footage was uploaded to the social media site X, formerly Twitter, on September 20.

Officers from West Midlands Police have launched an investigation into the horrifying incident and are attempting to “establish the full circumstances.”

A 39-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, section 18 wounding and possession of a bladed article.

He has now been bailed while detectives probe the incident further.

Man takes his seat on Ryanair flight – and is horrified when he sees window

Aarron Greaves, 32, was on a flight to Spain when he noticed that the window next to his seat appeared cracked – which left him and other passengers feeling ‘pretty worried’

A man said passengers on his Ryanair flight were “scared” after finding that one of the aircraft’s windows was “cracked”. Aarron Greaves, 32, was flying to Ibiza from Manchester when he noticed the damage to the window next to him.

He said that while he was scared, Ryanair staff told him that there was nothing to worry about. Video footage shows Aarron poking the plastic cover on the window with his finger. He said: “Everyone was scared and no one wanted to sit near it. I saw the crack after opening the window, so it was already there when I got on the plane.”

Aarron said that the crew came over and explained that an engineer had checked the window. However, he claimed that they did not reveal how it happened, adding: “I was pretty worried, but it all worked out OK in the end.”

Ryanair said the window reveal has now been replaced(Image: Aarron Greaves / SWNS)

Ryanair said: “We note that the window reveal (which is used only to protect the window from scratches) was found to be damaged and has since been replaced.”

It comes after a Ryanair pilot lost consciousness in the cockpit of a flight from Barcelona to Porto earlier in August. A source from the National Institute of Medical Emergencies told Portugal Resident that the pilot suffered a “rapidly recovering syncope” and “apparently recovered during the flight”.

The pilot came back to consciousness and the plane landed normally, according to reports. A spokesperson for the airline told The Mirror: “Ryanair has procedures and training in place to deal with situations where a pilot becomes unwell in flight. This flight from Barcelona to Porto (10 Aug), landed safely at Porto Airport.”

Aarron Greaves
Aarron said that he was reassured by the aircraft’s crew (Image: Aarron Greaves / SWNS)

Last month, it was reported that the budget airline could increase bonuses given to employees who spot passengers trying to sneak oversized luggage on board. Currently, members of staff receive about 1.50 euros (£1.50) for each piece of excess baggage they spot.

Ryanair said that it was determined to “eliminate the scourge of oversized bags which delay boarding,” adding that these bags were “clearly unfair on the over 99% of our passengers who comply with our baggage rules”. The airline has baggage sizers at airport gates to check carry-ons before passengers board, ensuring they comply with the strict rules.

Michael O’Leary, the airline boss, told RTE’s Morning Ireland: “We are happy to incentivise our (staff) with a share of those excess baggage fees, which we think will decline over the coming year or two.”

Passengers are allowed to bring a small carry-on bag on each flight, with dimensions not exceeding 40x20x25cm and a weight limit of 10kg. If you wish to bring additional bags, you will need to pay extra when booking your flights, or face charges of up to £74 at the gate.

Woman who performed sex act on female pal in front of horrified children on school run avoids jail

A WOMAN who performed a sex act on a female pal in front of horrified children on the school run has avoided jail.

Sarah Crawford, 39, had been drinking all night at a party when she got frisky with 42-year-old Rosalind Fitzgerald.

The pair were seen engaging in a sex act together near the doorway of a shop in Gateshead at 8.40am as children made their way to school.

A shocked bystander called police and the pair were arrested following the incident on December 11.

Crawford pleaded guilty to outraging public decency, a public order offence, criminal damage and assaulting a police officer.

The other charges came after she chucked items from a shop in the street in June following an outburst.

When she was taken to a police cell, Crawford “defecated” inside it.

She avoided jail for the offences and was instead handed a four month sentence, suspended for 12 months.

Fitzgerald, who also admitted outraging public decency, was previously handed a 12-month community order and fined £120.

Peterlee Magistrates’ Court heard police received reports that Crawford and Fitzgerald were “engaging in sexual activity”.

Chike Anieto, prosecuting, said: “Children were present in the area.

“The defendant then proceeded to urinate. Following this incident police attended and arrested the defendant.

“There were extensive calls to police by other members of the public about what was going on in the area.”

Crawford then landed herself in trouble in June when she hurled items at police and threatened to “raze every shop in Durham”.

She also kicked an officer in the knee, before she was eventually hauled to the police station.

When she was taken to a police cell, she “defecated” inside it, causing criminal damage worth £64.

Crawford previously told magistrates she does not want to drink alcohol, added: “I no longer want that life anymore”.

She was also said to be “embarrassed and sorry” for her offending.

As well as a suspended sentence, Crawford was handed 25 rehabilitation activity days, which must be completed in six months and given a fine.

Parents have expressed their shock and amusement in equal measure after one person was left horrified by searching on Google for ‘In the Night Garden’. The show first arrived on CBeebies in 2007 and follows the adventures of several characters including Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka.

It quickly became a hit among young children and toddlers, spanning exactly 100 episodes and inspiring a wide range of clothing, toys and merchandise. A screenshot of the Google search was shared to X, meanwhile, which later made it’s way to Facebook‘s ‘Great British Memes’ page, under the caption: “Googled In the Night Garden and didn’t expect this to show up as a related question.”

The post saw the parent hilariously include their top Google search suggestion, which read, ‘People also ask: Is Upsy Daisy a sl*g?’, which prompted thousands of parents to share their thoughts.

One Facebook user who couldn’t help but see the funny side, quipped in response: “As a parent who suffered many years watching that trollop dance around teasing everyone in sight… the answer to that question is a very clear ‘yes!'”

A second person joked: “Always said she was! Dragging her bed around and lifting her skirt!”

A third added: “You’ve irked a memory of watching In the Night Garden when my youngest was little! I always thought she was a bit fruity.”

Whilst a fourth Facebook user confessed: “I’ve actually Googled this myself after sitting through an episode called Upsy Daisy Kisses Everything!”

Others appeared to be a little more taken aback, however, including one individual who declared: “Well I’ll never watch In the Night Garden the same way again.”

Another added: “I’ll need to watch CBeebies at 6.25 tonight to see this in action.”

And a third said: “I think in the future a psychologist will study in the night garden and reveal it was a cult.”

Despite ceasing production in 2009, In the Night Garden remains a popular show for youngsters to this day with episodes airing daily and all episodes available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

In the Night Garden’s website says of the character in question: “Upsy Daisy is a happy and optimistic dolly. She loves nothing more than to dance through the garden and often convinces other character to join in.

“One of her favourite things is her bed, which has a mind of its own and can often be seen chasing her around the garden.”

The site details the programme further: “In the Night Garden is about a magical picture-book place that exists between waking and sleeping in a child’s imagination. Inhabited by a diverse community of loveable characters that care for each other unconditionally, such as Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka.

“In the Night Garden has been shot in a real woodland setting in the UK. It makes use of innovations in live character costume technology and CG animation, weaving these together within a stunning natural setting to create a compelling and fully immersive experience for young children. It has been devised and produced by Teletubbies creators, Anne Wood and Andy Davenport.”

Brit couple horrified to discover what they accidentally took through airport security

Michael, 64, and Kathryn, 72, Roper were enjoying a drink in the departure lounge at Leeds and Bradford Airport when they found the sharp knife in her bag, prompting alarm

A British couple inadvertently caused a security stir when they breezed through airport checks with a 10-inch steak knife in their luggage.

Michael, aged 64, and Kathryn Roper, 72, were left gobsmacked after sailing through Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) security, only to discover the sizeable blade nestled in her bag while sipping pints in the departure lounge, eagerly anticipating their flight to their Spanish holiday home.

The sharp discovery, featuring a six-inch blade, was made as the couple from Oxenhope, near Bradford, Yorkshire, were about to embark on their sunny getaway. Kathryn recalled how the knife ended up in her possession after using it to slice some cake during a visit to her stepfather earlier that day, an innocent oversight that led to the alarming find.

Upon realising the blunder, the Ropers promptly alerted the security team, who confiscated the blade.

Michael criticised the effectiveness of the security process: “It’s pretty rubbish, either the scanners were not working properly, or the bloke looking at the bag station has not been paying attention.

“My wife had been down to see her elderly step-dad, she took a knife and some cake for him. She put the knife in her bag, picked up our passports, bags, etc. and off we went. We went through security, sat having a beer and she pulled it out and she was like ‘oh my God’. Both of us fought it was shocking no one noticed – we couldn’t believe it.”

The pub-owning pair noted that upon their arrival at LBA, they passed through modern scanners designed to allow passengers to keep liquids inside their carry-ons.

After discovering what they’d brought through with them, the couple were initially uncertain about how to proceed, but ultimately Michael decided to pocket the knife, return through security, and alert the head of security.

Michael recounted: “We were stuck with an offensive weapon, a sharp steak knife, airside. You can’t put it into a bin, you’ve got a responsibility, it could get into the wrong hands, we all know what can happen. You can’t just give it to a member of the public there.

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), located in Yeadon, confirmed that an internal investigation is currently in progress. An airport spokesperson said: “As the incident is under investigation internally, we can’t comment any further.”

This summer hoolidaymakers have been urged to plan ahead and do their research before travelling abroad to avoid being caught out by hand luggage rules. The Transport Secretary has told air passengers to assume the 100ml limit on liquids in hand luggage remains in place, after two airports changed their policies.

A dad has been left outraged after footing an £695 breakfast bill at Disneyland.

In a bid to make their trip extra special, the family of five booked the ‘Princess Breakfast’ at Disneyland California.

The father made the classic error of not checking the menu before the meal got booked, and was left completely taken aback by the amount he had to pay, including a tip of over £100.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, to air his frustrations, the dad shared a photo of his receipt from the pricey breakfast, with a tip of $150 (£111) for a total of $937.65 (£695). He added the caption: “‘Princess Breakfast’ at Disneyland with my kids. Almost spit out my coffee.”

He added in the comment section: “I think if someone went to Disneyland and insisted on doing All The Things they could easily spend $3,000 per day. If I find that goddamn mouse I am going to mug him.”

The post racked up a whopping 16.9M viewers as people were left just as stunned at the extortionate price. One penned: “This is why my daughter continues to believe Disney is closed for COVID.”

A second said: “For that much money you can get an after hours private tour of the Vatican.” A third candily asked: “How many princesses did you eat?! and another penned: “I can see why you didn’t spit out your coffee … it probably cost $45.”

Others applauded him with: “You’re a great dad for doing this…better than I’ll ever be.” Another asked: “I’m going to assume there was no booze included in this?”, and the dad replied: “One Bloody Mary.”

On the Disneyland website, it describes the ‘Princess Breakfast’ as an “unforgettable 3-course breakfast” with “enchanting encounters with some favourite Disney Princesses.” It also states that it starts at $142 (£105).

However, it wasn’t all bad, as further down in the comments section, the dad shared a photo of the breakfast, boasting steak, prawns, and asparagus. He said: “Tbh the breakfast was good. Still – nine hundred f**king American dollars?”

He also mentioned: “With all the credit card points I’m getting at Disney I would be losing money by NOT going to the Princess Breakfast.”

Others noted that the cost shouldn’t have been a surprise. One user wrote: “Bro they tell you the price when you book, if you’re surprised that’s on you.” To which the father of three replied: “I didn’t book it or look at the menu, I’m a being of pure entropy.”

Another noted: “They are pretty clear at the Grand California about the cost of that per guest and it takes months to get a reservation. How was the experience over all? Did they rush you at all and how was Princess interaction?”

To which he replied: “It was fun, the food was probably 7/10, service was attentive and enthusiastic, princesses were all trained pro actresses and spent a lot of time with the kids. I enjoyed it.”

Woman travels 30 hours to visit Machu Picchu and view leaves her horrified

A 22 year old woman was left horrified by the view after travelling for over 30 hours to see the historic World Heritage site, Machu Picchu – and others were just as disappointed by their visits

Set high in the Andes Mountains in Peru, you’ll find the majestic Machu Picchu. Built in the fifteenth century, it was abandoned when the Incan Empire was conquered by the Spaniards in the sixteenth century. It wasn’t until 1911 that the archaeological complex was made known to the outside world.

As well as being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was selected as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World in 2007. This ramped up the number of tourists who visit – and the Incan citadel attracts around 1.6 million visitors a year.

One of the many tourists who has visited the historic site is globe-trotter Leonie, who took to her TikTok page to share a video of herself after reaching Machu Picchu. She travelled for around 30 hours to get there, so was expecting big things.

However, she seemed pretty underwhelmed when she saw the view. In an online post, she said: “Seeing one of Seven Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu. Did 8 hours plane, 17 hours of bus, biking and rafting, 5 hours of hiking for this view.”

Leonie posed with her hands over her mouth in dismay, before turning the camera to show how cloudy it was on site. Instead of seeing the historic houses and buildings, the view was concealed by a thick, grey fog that made the whole mountain look eerily creepy.

According to Exploor Peru, Machu Picchu is often covered in fog, especially in the early mornings, due to its high altitude and proximity to the Amazon rainforest. The fog can be quite dense, particularly during the rainy season (November to March), and can obscure views of the ruins and surrounding peaks.

However, the fog often clears out as the day progresses, and sunny periods can follow, revealing the stunning landscape.

Several people soon took to the comment section of Leonie’s video, which has been viewed more than 8.8 million times. It turns out, Leonie wasn’t the only one who had been left underwhelmed by her visit.

“Machu Picchu was so disappointing when I went in January,” one person commented.

Meanwhile, a second viewer wrote: “I’d stay there for days waiting to clear out – no way.”

Another person said: “Bruh this is why I’m avoiding planning a trip to see Machu Picchu or the Northern Lights – I couldn’t deal with the disappointment.”

However, on the bright side, another viewer wrote: “You know it’s about the journey, not always the destination.”
