Prison sentences, betrayal and affair claims – everything Gordon Ramsay’s doc missed out

With Gordon Ramsay’s new Netflix docu-series accused of being a “sanitised” version of the celebrity chef’s family life, there are some key parts of his past that were completely missed out

Following the release of Being Gordon Ramsay on Netflix, the celebrity chef has been accused of portraying a ‘sanitised’ version of his life.

And although the six-parter mainly follows the opening of his ambitious 22 Bishopgate venture, the Hell’s Kitchen star does delve into parts of his past – including the “mess” he was born into, and his abusive father.

But there are some murkier elements of Gordon and his family’s history that were glossed over in the documentary. The docu-series is described by Netflix as “unflinchingly honest” – but some have criticised the absence of some major incidents from the Ramsays’ past.

Prison sentences

The Ramsay family was rocked by a devastating betrayal in 2017, when it was revealed that certain members of Tana’s family had attempted to hack into multi-millionaire Gordon’s business accounts. Christopher Hutcheson, 77, and his sons, Adam and Christopher, admitted they had plotted to access his emails and finances almost 2000 times over a five-month period from October 2010 to March 2011.

It came after Tana’s dad was sacked as CEO of Gordon Ramsay Holdings Ltd, leading to a public fallout with his son-in-law. Between the three of them, they had managed to obtain information – including claims of a hair transplant and a fishing trip – which then later appeared in newspapers. After their crime was uncovered, Hutcheson Sr emailed his son saying: “Guess we have been rumbled. Bit late though..

Despite the family making up and Tana and Gordon not supporting the court case, the judge still deemed a prison sentence necessary. Tana’s dad was handed a six-month sentence, while Adam and Chris Jr. were each sentenced to four months suspended for two years.

Affair claims

It’s been widely reported that Sarah Symonds, claimed she was seeing Gordon for seven years, after meeting in 2001. Something he has always denied. Sarah, now 56, was was once dubbed a “professional mistress”, having had affairs with other married men, including politician Jeffrey Archer.

Sarah, who published the book Having an Affair? in 2007, ranted to the Daily Mail: “The title of the docu-series ‘Being Gordon Ramsay’ is totally fake – just like him.

“It’s misleading and disingenuous. A travesty in fact, as nothing about it was ‘Being Gordon’ at all.” She added the show is a “glossed over” version of Gordon, who she describes as a “bully, cheat, liar and serial philanderer”. Sarah said that the Netflix description of the show as “unflinchingly honest” makes her want to scream, adding that she is “trying to heal” from the trauma of her affair. Ramsay has denied ever having had an affair.

Ramsay’s brother

Gordon Ramsay was born in Glasgow, and lived on different council estates in the city, in Birmingham and in other areas of the UK. He does mention his younger brother Ronnie in the series, telling viewers when pressed that he is a heroin addict, but we don’t meet Ronnie.

He says: “We shared a bunk bed together. He’s 15 months younger than me, and he’s been an addict for the last four decades. I’ve gone to hell and back with him, and so I have a guilt complex. That could have been me. It could’ve been switched.”

Gordon has spoken more about Ronnie previously. It was revealed that back in 2007, he was arrested in Bali, after 100mg of heroin was reportedly found in his pocket, landing him a 10-month jail term. Speaking in the early 2000s to Waitrose Food Illustrated magazine, Gordon said: “I feel the pain, I feel it big time. I don’t think that my mum at 60 should still be putting up with it.

“It is hard dealing with Ronnie. He is a major responsibility. It is like having an 18-year-old to look after.” He also revealed, prior to the documentary, to the Mail that Ronnie had asked to perform at his daughter Holly’s wedding.

Gordon explained: “It was tough. It still pains me. He said: ‘Hey, have you got a music gig for the wedding? I’m free.’ I put down the phone and I said to Tana, ‘F**king hell, here we are in the house we sleep in and there’s my little brother still with two pit bulls in a council flat in Birmingham, busking.'”

Holly and Adam Peaty’s family feud

Gordon’s eldest daughter, Holly, and her new husband, Adam Peaty, were embroiled in a bitter family feud with the groom’s family in the lead-up to their wedding in December. The couple sensationally ended up uninviting all of Adam’s family, except for his sister Bethany, who was one of Holly’s bridesmaids.

The Netflix documentary makes no mention of the tension, although it does show scenes from the couples’ engagement party. According to Adam’s family, they were all cut from the show, despite being there to celebrate Adam’s proposal to Holly.

His mum, Caroline, and his cousin, Krystal, have claimed they were removed from scenes from Adam and Holly Ramsay’s engagement party. They reportedly made a number of touching speeches as part of the event, but these weren’t shown.

The pair vented on social media, with Krystal sharing a photo of her watching the engagement party scene on the doc. She said: “I was here in person, guess I didn’t make it on Netflix for my minute of fame.”

She sarcastically added: “How will I sleep at night?” And Adam’s mum Caroline shared a response in the comments section, asking: “Did they film my speech Krystal?”

She went on: ““I bet they didn’t because it was 100% full of love and positivity x.” Krystal replied: “I haven’t watched it all to be honest but no I haven’t see you and you look blurred out xx.”

Watch Gordon Ramsay fight back tears at daughter Holly and Adam Peaty’s engagement party

The emotional moment came just hours before a bitter family fallout broke out between Holly’s now-husband Adam Peaty’s parents and the Ramsay clan.

Holly and Adam’s engagement party is caught on film – with both the Ramsay and Peaty families in attendance.

PEATY’S PREDICTION

Adam Peaty ‘predicts’ family feud without realising in Gordon Ramsay doc

Elsewhere during the evening, Gordon was filmed saying: “The most important family is the one you create and she [Holly] comes from an incredible family so its now her time to create her own family. It is quite a moment.”

The party marked one of the last times that the Ramsay family were with the Peaty clan before their public feud imploded.

Despite Gordon having a close relationship with his son-in-law, Adam’s parents have publicly blasted the family after they weren’t invited to Holly’s hen do and were later uninvited to the wedding.

Holly’s mum Tana and close family friend Victoria Beckham were invited on the hen do, but Caroline was left off the guest list.

The family have since been in a war of words during their very bitter feud.

Gordon addressed the fallout for the first time earlier this month ahead of his Netflix show launching, saying: “It’s just upsetting.

“It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them.”

He added to the MailOnline: “We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty.

“So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.”

Brooklyn Beckham promises to ‘forever protect’ wife Nicola Peltz in gushing post amid family feud

BROOKLYN Beckham has promised to “forever protect” his wife Nicola Peltz in a gushing post amid the ongoing family feud.

It comes after Brooklyn made a bombshell statement where he accused his parents, Sir David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, of trying endlessly to ruin his relationship in a social media post in January.

Brooklyn took to Instagram and posted a black and white image which showed the couple sharing a tender kiss.

Brooklyn was seen shirtless which showed off his tattoos and Nicola was dressed in a crop top and jeans.

He captioned the sweet snap: “Happy Valentine’s Day baby, I am the luckiest person in the world to be able to call you my Valentine’s every year.

“I love you more than you know and I will forever protect and love you.”

HARP TO HEART

Caring Harper sends heartfelt message to Brooklyn in bid to heal bitter feud

Brooklyn sent a clear message to Gordon Ramsay this weekend after the chef publicly urged him to “remember where he came from” amid his ongoing family row with his mum and dad.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun this week, Gordon revealed that, despite being close mates with David Beckham, he had maintained contact with Brooklyn after his family fallout alongside wife, Nicola Peltz.

Gordon praised his “incredible heart” but warned that his eagerness to “forge his own path” had him in danger of forgetting “where he came from”.

However, within hours of the interview being published, Brooklyn added his former mentor to the list of people he’s now unfollowed on Instagram

At the time of writing, Gordon is still following Brooklyn, meaning that he’s not been blocked by the 26-year-old.

During our interview with Gordon, he opened up about what was going on inside the Beckham household, and his belief that things at some point will smooth over.

“It’s a very difficult situation,” he explained. “Victoria is upset, and I know 24/7, seven days a week, just how much David loves Brooklyn.

“Brooklyn and I have messaged a little bit, our relationship is solid. I love him – his heart is incredible – but it’s hard, isn’t it, when you’re infatuated?

“Love is blind. It’s easy to get up on that rollercoaster, and get carried away. But it will come back.”

In his bombshell statement, Brooklyn claimed his mum danced “inappropriately” on him at his lavish wedding in 2022.

He has also blocked his parents and siblings, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, on social media.

The Beckham family have continued to make small gestures in a bid to reach out to Brooklyn – despite his public six-page statement cutting all ties from the family.

His little sister Harper made a post sending a “Happy Valentines to the best big brothers in the world”, sharing a throwback snap of her as a young child with Brooklyn, as well as brothers Romeo and Cruz.

Victoria later reposted the photograph on her own Instagram Stories, but Brooklyn has not publicly responded.

Earlier this week Cruz also reached out to Brooklyn, with a throwback of the three brothers as children, something he also ignored.

However, Gordon Ramsay has insisted that his good friend David will end the ongoing feud with his son Brooklyn.

Having taken aspiring chef Brooklyn under his wing for a while, Gordon praised his “incredible heart” but warned that his eagerness to “forge his own path” had him in danger of forgetting “where he came from”.

Now, within hours of the interview being published, Brooklyn has added his former mentor to the list of people he’s now unfollowed on Instagram.

At the time of writing, Gordon is still following Brooklyn, meaning that he’s not been blocked by the 26-year-old.

A source told MailOnline: “Brooklyn and Nicola clearly don’t want any criticism at all, they just don’t want to hear any negativity about themselves.

Victoria Beckham extends olive branch to son Brooklyn with sweet tribute

“They must hate being talked about unless it’s gushing. Maybe they don’t like the truth.”

The Beckhams and the Ramsays have had a long-standing relationship and close bond, with Brooklyn growing up alongside Gordon’s son, Jack, who’s also 26.

It’s believed that Gordon is even godparent to 14-year-old Harper Seven, the youngest of the Beckham children. At the least, he was one point in the running.

During our interview with Gordon – who was promoting his upcoming Netflix series Being Gordon Ramsay – he opened up about what was going on inside the Beckham household, and his belief that things at some point will smooth over.

“He’s desperate to forge his own way, and I respect that from him. It’s such a good thing to do,” he added. “But remember where you came from.

“And honestly, one day you’re not going to have your mum and dad, and you need to understand that. That penny will drop.

“I just want Brooklyn to take a moment to himself. And remember: you’re half mum, half dad. And you’re an amazing young man.

“But, boy, they’ve done more for you than anyone did in your entire life.”

“I’ve seen first hand just how good parents they are. David as a dad is just incredible. They have both put so much energy into their kids, and I know just how many times they have got Brooklyn out of the s***.”

Gordon continued: “I think it’s going to be a matter of time before Brooklyn takes a good look at himself and understands just what his parents mean to him.

”He’s desperate to forge his own way, and I respect that from Brooklyn. It’s such a good thing to do. But remember where you came from.

They claimed he was left in tears while wife Nicola Peltz, 31, was devastated — with the events captured on videotape.

Victoria has since become victim to hundreds of online memes, mocking the couple’s first dance.

And now Gordon has set the record straight.

”We were there at the wedding,” he says. “There was nothing salacious. There was nothing inappropriate. Everyone was having fun, having a dance.”

”No! Nothing of the sort. It was fun.”

He added: “I haven’t seen any of the memes, I heard about them of course, but Victoria’s got a great sense of humour. She’s great.

“She’s right to be upset (about the wedding) but she can bat that other s*** away in a heartbeat.

‘NOTHING INAPPROPRIATE’

“I was told we were accused of saying inappropriate things,” Gordon said. “Nothing at all was said that was inappropriate, I promise you.

“I was very warm, very witty. I talked about when they first met. I was nervous, hearing the words no father would ever want to hear, ‘Your daughter’s gone on a date with the world’s best breast- stroker.’ We knew something big was going on when she came home and all we could smell was chlorine.’”

Gordon went on to share a cheeky dad joke he penned himself.

“They were the bits I really worked on, ” he recalled. “I paid tribute to Holly, then welcomed Adam into the family: ‘I know you’ll give Holly all the love she deserves, but be aware that her twin, Jack, is a Royal Marine. I know you can swim fast, but he has a boat with a big f****** gun on it!’ Light-hearted stuff like that.”

It comes as Gordon also addressed the feud directly elsewhere in the interview.

He insisted he and his wife had “done nothing wrong”.

Gordon said: “It’s just upsetting. It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them.

“We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty.

“So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.”

ENDING THE FEUD?

Talking of a potential reconciliation, he added: “I would like to go up to Nottingham with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand.”

“It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend and so we had to respect that. There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents.

“That’s nothing to do with Tana and me.

“But we are very mindful we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue starting their lives together.”

Adam’s feud with his mum Caroline, 60, exploded In November after she was not invited to Holly’s hen do.

And a source close to the Peatys recently told The Sun they had given up home of mending bridges.

An insider close to Adam’s parents said: “It’s been a really emotional time for them as a family.

“They’re coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side.

“It’s dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future.”
