Married At First Sight viewers fume to Ofcom over ‘cruel’ treatment of groom

Ofcom has received more than 100 complaints from Married At First Sight viewers over the way groom Ashley was treated during his time on the hit E4 reality series

Ofcom has received more than 100 complaints from Married At First Sight fans over the way a groom was treated. Earlier in this series of the hit E4 reality show. viewers watched as midwife Grace ‘tied the knot’ with Ashley but she was visibly not very keen from the start.

The couple made it past the initial wedding stage of the experiment, but various issues kept cropping up as they tried to embark on their new relationship and it all ended after one final argument that took place at a dinner party.

She added: “I expect you to act like a grown man capable of self-control. Sponsored by Canesten Duo.” The pair have been notably absent at various points within the series, and in the end, Ashley removed his wedding band when he decided that ‘couldn’t do anymore‘ for her without her taking issue with it as she accused him of ‘twisting’ everything.

But viewers have taken issue with the way that experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson and Charlene Douglas seemingly enabled Grace’s behaviour during her time on camera. A spokesperson for Ofcom confirmed: “Complaints related to the experts allegedly enabling Grace’s treatment of Ashley.” In total, the regulator received 166 complaints from angry viewers.

It comes just one day after Grace took to social media to hit out at her ex regarding their final argument. She said: “I expect you to accept no for an answer. I expect you to prioritise my discomfort over your desire for sex. I expect you to act like a grown man capable of self-control. Sponsored by Canesten Duo.”

Things went from bad to worse for the couple during Wife Swap week, when Ashley admitted that he was ‘happier’ when his bride was not around. On the verge of tears, he explained: “I’d hate to hurt Grace’s feelings. I just feel like I can’t give any more to this. So I have to be selfish and put myself first. Grace then admitted: “I would have really liked if this had worked out I think we recognise now there was never anyway it was going to (work). But yeah, you do know that deep down.”

When viewers first met Ashley and Grace, she refused to accept a kiss on the lips when they were pronounced as husband and wife. Things got even more heated between the pair at the dinner following the wedding, when Ashley admitted that he had been raised with ‘old-fashioned’ morals and believed that a man should be the breadwinner. Grace was visibly shocked at this revelation, and in a confessional, she fumed: “God, here we go!”

Later on, Grace’s friend Georgina interrogated Ashley over his outlook on life and when he suggested he was not necessarily a feminist, she raged that someone like that was not going to be a match for Grace.

She said: “My advice was, she wants to know you respect her.” She then relayed her concerns to Grace, but insisted she had managed to warm to Ashley by explaining to him just what she thought a feminist was. This whole scene did not go down well with some viewers either, with one writing: “Grace & her friends seem like the type to bring about their own misery,” and another slamming it as the ‘most insufferable conversation’ they had ever heard.

Viewers will have to wait to see just how things pan out between Ashley and Grace on the next episode, but the trailer for next week teased that things might not be looking so good.

In a short clip, Grace raged: “Every now and then he says something, and it’s like ‘Do you know how that sounds?!'”

ITV Big Brother fans fume ‘we all saw it coming’ after shopping task mayhem

Big Brother viewers were left fuming as the housemates failed the “easiest task” in the show’s history

ITV Big Brother viewers have fumed “we all saw it coming” after this week’s shopping task was plunged into chaos.

In last night’s episode (October 23), the Big Brother house was transformed into an airport for the weekly task in the hopes of winning a luxury shopping budget.

The housemates were asked to check in as passengers and crew onboard the British Eyeways Flight BB2025 with a number of rules to follow.

Big Brother announced: “Passengers, your destination is a luxury shopping budget but only if you can successfully complete your journey and that might not be as easy as it sounds. Every rule break will extend your flight time meaning a short smooth trip could quickly become a long-haul nightmare.”

Cameron and Feyisola took on the roles of pilot and co-pilot, with Jenny and Sam cabin crew and the remaining housemates as passengers.

Caroline, Richard and Zelah were on a stag do, Farida and Nancy were typical tourists, Elsa and Emily as returning backpackers on their gap year, Tate and Teja were business travellers and Marcus was a single dad.

However, after repeatedly breaking the rules, the flight became longer and longer. With the housemates having to endure over four hours on the flight, they soon quit, reports OK!.

As a result, Big Brother informed the housemates they had failed the task and would be living on basic rations. Fans vented their frustrations on social media, with one viewer stating: “The easiest task in the history of the show and they gave up.”

Another penned: “Well we all saw it coming… they FAILED the shopping task and now it’s basic rations for the lot of them. Hunger games incoming!”.

A third commented: “The easiest task in the history of the show.”

A fourth responded: “Sorry but if I was any of their employers I would be thinking a lot differently about some of them, they couldn’t follow some easy rules for 2 hours? ? ? Actually childish imo.”

Another declared: “I’d be fuming if i were in there following the task. all they had to do was f*** all and they still failed.” One person echoed: “Basic rations! !”.

During the shopping challenge, regulations stipulated contestants must not consume food that wasn’t allocated to them, whilst luggage had to remain with housemates constantly.

Contestants were also instructed to remain seated on the aircraft whilst the seatbelt indicator was illuminated. They were subsequently required to estimate their landing time without checking clocks.

Nevertheless, following more than two hours, they abandoned their challenge.

With the housemates bracing themselves for meagre provisions, numerous viewers are questioning precisely what this will entail for those within the Big Brother residence.

Big Brother airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

Bake Off fans fume as popular baker becomes seventh contestant to leave show

Lesley’s time in the Bake Off tent came to an end after a tough meringue-themed week saw her struggle to impress the judges and become the seventh contestant to leave the competition

Hairdresser Lesley has become the seventh baker to be eliminated from The Great British Bake Off after struggling during the show’s first-ever meringue-themed week.

In Tuesday night’s episode, the remaining contestants were faced with three demanding challenges designed to test their precision and patience.

For the signature bake, they were asked to create mini meringue tarts, followed by a classic yet notoriously tricky soufflé in the technical round.

Finally, the showstopper challenge required the bakers to produce a visually impressive meringue ice cream cake – a task that pushed even the most confident contestants to their limits.

Despite her best efforts, Lesley’s bakes failed to impress the judges, and she was told by co-host Alison Hammond that her time in the tent had come to an end.

Business development executive Toby, meanwhile, was named star baker by presenter Noel Fielding after delivering consistently strong results across all three challenges.

Lesley, 59, from Kent, admitted she had expected her departure. “Do you know what, I knew it was coming,” she said.

“It’s like ripping the plaster off! Thanks so much for the experience, it has been amazing. I couldn’t get my meringue right and had resigned myself to the fact I’d be going. But I’m proud that I made it to week seven. The other bakers gave me a massive cuddle, which meant the world.”

Judge Dame Prue Leith praised Lesley for her enthusiasm and warmth throughout the competition. “I’m really sorry to see Lesley go,” she said.

“She’s a remarkable woman and, in a way, she’s my ideal baker – she’s just really having a good time. That’s what Bake Off is all about.”

Following her exit, Lesley reflected on how much she had gained from her time in the famous tent. “I think I’ve grown as a person and feel more confident in myself and my abilities,” she said.

“I’ve learned new skills, trusted my gut feeling, and realised you need to step through fear and take yourself out of your comfort zone, that’s how you grow. I’ve had the time of my life.”

Having baked since the age of ten, Lesley said her highlight on the show was “winning the technical in chocolate week.”

Looking ahead, she hopes to open a small baking school, run a “cake shed” where people can buy homemade treats, and write a cookbook inspired by her late grandmother’s traditional recipes.

Lesley will appear on The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice with Jo Brand and Tom Allen on Friday, October 17, at 8pm on Channel 4.

MAFS UK fans fume as bride says groom ‘needs to lose weight’ for her to feel a spark

Married At First Sight fans were less than impressed with Sarah’s answer tonight when a producer asked what Dean needed to do for her to feel a spark with her new husband

E4 Married at First Sight viewers were left outraged by bride Sarah’s comments about her new husband Dean, as the two honeymooned in the Maldives.

From the get go, it was obvious Dean wasn’t Sarah’s usual ‘bad boy type,’ and things started off on the wrong foot when he rapped his vows, leaving Sarah and her friends cringing.

Things didn’t stop there however, the former redcoat performer had written his own song to perform at the wedding reception, and this time, Sarah was left in tears.

Breaking down backstage, she told cameras: “I’m not an over romantic person at all and anything over the top does put me off. I don’t know how to react to that. The song is just a bit too much for me, too much too soon.”

In tears, she continued: “I’m struggling a little bit, I can’t lie. More than I thought. I can see why we’ve been matched I can. It’s just not there.”

However, the 31-year-old recruitment consultant didn’t let it get her down, as she headed off on honeymoon with Dean. She did however, kindly tell her husband the singing was getting annoying – later revealing that she was feeling friend vibes.

Lats night, Dean also asked Sarah if she’d ever been with someone bigger, as she said she hadn’t.

In tonight’s episode, the pair went for an intimate dinner on the beach, and behind the scenes, one of the producers asked Sarah: “Is there anything that Dean could do to ever get a sexual spark?”

“Get some tattoos and lose some weight, maybe?” she replied to the producers, which left many fans outraged.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “What’s Sarah’s deal with Dean’s weight? He’s not very big. Get tattoos and lose weight?! Rude.

“Noooo pls tell me Sarah has not just said she’d fancy him if he lost weight n got tattoos.. on national television?? Girl are you okay ???” a second questioned.

“Now if Dean told Sarah to lose weight, the experts would step in,” said a third.

Sarah later continued: “The longer the honeymoon has gone on for, the last couple of days there have been certain parts of his personality that are beginning to grate on me,” before she debated being “completely honest” with him.

Things continued to spiral further towards the end of the episode as Dean continued to make more jokes, which Sarah said was “becoming an ick”.

Opening up, Dean told Sarah he didn’t want to get hurt, revealing that he found himself “going back to being that fat kid at school who didn’t get the girls.”

Cutting straight to the point, Dean asked if things would be different if he “wasn’t as big” to which his bride responded: “Probably. I think there maybe would be more of that attraction and sexual chemistry.

“Sorry. I want to be open and transparent with you, I don’t want to pretend,” she said.

But will the two find a spark in the coming weeks?

Channel 4 Taskmaster fans issue same complaint as they fume over ‘most disgusting’ detail

Taskmaster viewers were left speechless as two contestants used their sense of taste to guess an array of items on Thursday

Taskmaster fans issued the same complaint as they fumed over the “most disgusting” detail on Thursday (September 18).

The hit Channel 4 programme returned for its 20th season last week, with five new comics taking on more silly challenges set by Alex Horne and Greg Davies.

The latest cast includes Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Reece Shearsmith and Sanjeev Bhaskar.

Tonight’s episode began with the five comedians bringing in an object that was the hardest to describe.

Maisie brought in the concept of being in the womb, which Greg struggled to comprehend, so she received five points for the prize task.

The contestants were then asked to identify five items from behind a screen, with the most correct items taking home the highest amount of points.

The Taskmaster didn’t make it easy for them, though. Each comedian could only choose one sense to help them guess, with certain senses earning more points than others.

If they chose hearing, they’d get five points for every correct item, with smell earning four points and taste getting three points. Touch was worth two points, while sight was only worth one point per item.

Both Maisie and Reece chose to use their taste, with the pair awkwardly licking various items through the screen, including a stapler, a frozen sock, yoghurt and wet teeth.

After watching the challenge, the show’s viewers quickly shared their frustration on social media, with many complaining about the “disgusting” nature of the task.

“Reece and Maisie licking wet human teeth in a bowl is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen on #Taskmaster – and that’s saying something!” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another added: “Just watched someone lick a bowl of human teeth. Ah yes taskmaster the silly game show,” while a third said: “Gross.”

A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “I was going to take it back but no… this is STILL the round they should have deleted,” with another adding: “Omg this is so difficult to watch!”

A fifth viewer said: “My god watching Maisie and Reece doing that task was horrifying,” while another commented: “That task was the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen.”

After receiving 22 points across all of the challenges, Reece won tonight’s episode.

Taskmaster is available to stream on Channel 4
