A MAN has died after his car veered onto the pavement and smashed into a wall.

Police rushed to reports of a crash at around 12pm this afternoon, on Guide Lane in Audenshaw, Greater Manchester.

Officers believe that the driver of a Kia Rio suffered a medical episode behind the wheel.

The car then collided into the wall of a business property, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

The driver of the Rio, a man in his 80s, tragically died on the way to hospital.

The Manchester force’s serious collision investigation unit is now appealing for help following the fatal crash in Tameside.

Officers have launched an investigation, and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

HOUSTON — José Soriano and two relievers combined for a two-hitter and Oswald Peraza hit his first home run since a trade from the Yankees to lead the Angels to a 3-0 win over the Houston Astros on Sunday.

Angels outfielder Taylor Ward was injured trying to make a catch on that hit when he crashed face-first into the metal scoreboard in left field.

He was bleeding and appeared to have a cut above his right eye. He held a smaller cloth to his head as he was slowly carted off the field while resting his head on the shoulder of a team employee who rode the cart with him. There was no immediate update on his injury.

Soriano (10-9) allowed one hit and struck out eight in seven innings. Luis García allowed one hit in a scoreless eighth and Kenley Jansen threw a perfect ninth for his 25th save.

There were two outs in the fifth when Peraza connected off Hunter Brown (10-7) into the bullpen in right-center field to put the Angels up 1-0. His homer comes after his two-run single in the ninth inning Saturday helped Los Angeles to a 4-1 victory that snapped a three-game skid.

Yoán Moncada walked to start the eighth and scored on Mike Trout’s double that bounced off the wall in center field to make it 2-0. Ward walked before Luis Rengifo reached and Trout scored on an error by Lance McCullers Jr. when the pitcher overthrew first base.

Yordan Alvarez singled with no outs in the first and Soriano walked a batter in the second and sixth innings. The Astros didn’t get another hit until Ramón Urías doubled with one out in the eighth inning.

Brown allowed three hits and a run with five strikeouts in six innings. McCullers Jr. allowed three hits and two runs in his first relief appearance since 2018.

She proceeded to share footage beginning with a lady in a blue dress and sun hat strolling along the train station platform. The clip was captured from inside what appeared to be a vintage carriage, instantly creating the sensation of journeying through history.

The TikTok creator then proceeded to showcase brief clips from their trip to Sheringham, featuring the high street adorned with vibrant bunting strung across the sky, followed by scenes of a procession of elderly ladies dancing and parading through the town.

They went on to showcase the stunning seafront, where visitors could be seen relishing the scenery and engaging in water activities despite the overcast conditions. And what seaside excursion would be complete without indulging in an ice cream?

They strolled past pastel-hued buildings before reaching their chosen ice cream parlour and purchasing a chocolate-dipped cone filled with ice cream. The quintessential coastal resort trip also calls for an encounter with some seagulls, which the creator captured with one perched on a town wall, watching the pedestrians as they wandered by.

Viewers were swift to comment with their reactions, with many expressing astonishment at how tranquil and charming the town appeared to be, reports the Express. “I love Britain one of my favourite countries,” one person wrote. Another viewer said: “This is not just a video. It’s like opening up to a brand new dimension of extraordinary power!”

A veteran high-speed driver has died after losing control of his vehicle while driving at nearly 300 miles per hour Sunday during the 2025 Bonneville Speed Week event in northwestern Utah.

Chris Raschke, 60, was treated by medical professionals, but died at the scene of the accident at the Bonneville Salt Flats, near Wendover, Utah, according to a press release by event organizer Southern California Timing Assn.

“When you lose anybody in the community, it’s always tough,” race director and SCTA board president Keith Pedersen told The Times on Tuesday. “And somebody as well-liked and known as Chris, that makes it even tougher.”

In addition to being a “very accomplished race car driver,” Pedersen said, Raschke was also “very, very friendly, very competitive. But he’s also the type of person that if you needed a part or something, he would give it to you and say, ‘Yeah, just bring it back when you’re done.’”

According to Raschke’s Speed Demon bio page, he was “the first official employee at Ventura Raceway in the early 80’s” and over the years became involved in practically all aspects of motor sports.

Also an employee of ARP Auto Parts, which makes fasteners and other products for race cars, Raschke worked as part of the Speed Demon crew for more than a decade before becoming a driver for the team.

At last year’s Speed Week, Raschke topped out at 446 mph, which Pedersen said was the fastest measured mile at the event. This year, he was driving the latest iteration of his team’s vehicle, the Speed Demon 3. Pederson confirmed that Raschke’s last recorded speed during Sunday’s race was 283 mph.

A Facebook post from the Speed Demon team account stated: “At this time, we ask everyone to please respect Chris’s family, friends, and the Speed Demon team. We are deeply devastated.”

The Tooele County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Raschke’s death, with assistance from the SCTA. Sgt. Dan Lerdahl told The Times that the crash is being viewed as an accident, although it is unclear at this point whether the cause was “a roadway issue, a mechanical issue or just a freak thing.”

Racing was suspended following Rashke’s crash but resumed Monday. Pedersen said canceling the event, which runs through Friday at the at the Bonneville Salt Flats, was never really a consideration.

“We’ve been doing Speed Week for 77 years, and over those years, there have been other fatalities out here. And it’s always a tragedy,” Pedersen said. “But we typically regroup. … We grieve and we race. Chris would have wanted us to race, and we’re continuing to do that.”
