Coronation Street character shot as Jodie bursts in on David and Shona with a gun

Coronation Street has released a first look at the moment villain Jodie Ramsey brandishes a gun in a deadly showdown with Shona and David Platt, moments before the gun goes off

Jodie Ramsey points a gun at Coronation Street favourites David and Shona Platt in tense scenes on Thursday.

Someone gets shot, leaving them fighting for their lives. Intent on stealing her sister’s life, Jodie takes violent action in a deadly showdown.

It seems a scuffle, with confusion over whether the gun is real or not, leads to it firing. But will death loom for Jodie, David or Shona, and will Jodie be stopped?

Fans have seen Jodie targeting her sister, and others, for weeks. On Thursday her plan to steal David all for herself comes into play, as she tries to seduce him.

Shona finally clocks that her villainous sister is out to get her, and plotting to steal her life. Confronting Jodie over her obsession with her family, the pair have it out, and secrets are exposed.

As David and Shona watch in horror, Jodie raises the gun at them. As David and Shona remain convinced it’s the fake gun they found recently, they challenge her unaware it’s real.

As the situation spirals the gun is fired, shooting someone. As the person collapses, the others are left reeling in horror – but who is shot, and will they die?

Will Jodie be successful in her seduction of David too, and could it lead to a sad split for him and Shona? All will be revealed during Friday’s dramatic episode of the ITV soap.

The fallout is being kept under wraps, while cryptic spoilers confirm someone could be safe. They state that David calls for an ambulance, so does this mean he isn’t hit?

Either way, paramedics soon arrive to tend to the victim, but their fate is not revealed. What is known is that in the days following, the police will investigate what has happened at the Platts house.

Soon it emerges not everyone is telling the truth about what went on, as statements are questioned. As detective Lisa Swain leads the investigation, she soon questions the given version of events.

Speaking to the Mirror recently, Shona actress Julia Goulding said Jodie would get a whole lot worse. She told us: “It’s only go to get more dramatic – how far will Jodie go? I think it’s going to wow everybody. It’s never plain sailing.”

Julia added of the plot: “I think she’s a really intricate complex character. Something has happened to make her like that; she’s not a baddie. She’s got many layers. It’s going to be interesting for the audience to peel those back. I love having Olivia with us; it’s nice exploring Shona’s background as well.”

Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .

Chris Appleton bursts into tears after ’emotional’ Strictly Come Dancing exit

Chris Appleton became very emotional and burst into tears as he addressed his early exit from Strictly Come Dancing during an apperance on Monday’s It Takes Two

Chris Appleton broke down in tears as he addressed his early exit from Strictly Come Dancing.

The celebrity hairdresser,43, who is best known for working with megastars like Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, and Jennifer Lopez, had been taking part in the BBC Saturday night favourite with professional partner Amy Dowden, but the pair did not make it past the Movie Week without being sent home.

During an appearance on Monday’s It Takes Two with host Ellie Taylor, Chris and Amy were shown a selection of his best bits from the show and the star quickly became emotional. Through tears, he said: “Why did you have to show that? Oh my God, it’s just been a phenomenal experience.

“I said to my kids…I can’t even talk…just challenge yourself and do it anyway. I’d literally go out there shaking and there’s times I didn’t know if I could do it but I did it and I would just look at Amy and see her smiling and knew she was with me.

“It says so much about the show, all of the cast and the people behind the scenes who don’t get a mention. You do need that because it’s such a phenomenal one and if you’re lucky enough to do it, jump at it.”

Elsewhere in the emotional interview, Amy paid tribute to her dance partner and said that she was sure that there would have been “so much more” to come from him had they not been voted off.

She said: “From the first day to dancing on Saturday night, he grew and grew and grew [in confidence] and I’m just gutted that we didn’t get the chance to continue. I honestly think there was so much more to come.”

In the dance off Chris and Amy performed their Cha Cha to I’ll Be Ready from Baywatch, before actress Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu performed their Cha Cha to Oh, Pretty Woman from Pretty Woman.

The judges voted unanimously to save Jaime meaning she will be back next weekend. Chris had said earlier in the weekend he didn’t want to let his partner Amy down. He said: “I am really trying but also really enjoying it.” But his cha cha managed just 17 points from the judges and in week one he got just 15, amongst the lowest scores in the competition.

After his elimination, Chris said: “I think it’s been such a whirlwind of emotion. I’m 43 and I got good at doing what I did – which is hair. To come and do something like this, I felt so out of my comfort zone and saw myself in a way I never saw myself, and it challenged me in ways I never knew I could be challenged.

“I am very grateful for everyone who has been involved. It’s been so amazing to be part of something that I grew up watching and got to be a part of it.

“The most important thing I think I will take from this show is having a friend in Amy because I genuinely love her and I am so grateful I met someone who has so much heart and passion.

“I only wish I could have done better for her because she deserves to go further in the competition, but we did put everything into it.”

The actress signed with CAA earlier this month after leaving Paradigm Talent Agency and becoming a free agent.

This reportedly followed an awkward exchange in January between the Euphoria star and Ari Emanuel, executive chairman of WME Group, an entertainment and media agency, about her future.

According to Page Six, multiple sources claimed that Ari ordered Sydney, 29, to split from Scooter, 45, to “better serve” her career.

“Ari was telling her that if she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress and businesswoman, she needed to break up with Scooter,” an insider told the outlet.

The source said Scooter learned of Ari’s remarks and was very upset, especially since he convinced Sydney to take the meeting.

A rep for Ari denied that the meeting ever happened and that he told Sydney to dump the former talent manager, Page Six reported.
