Ruth Langsford ‘needed therapy’ after Eamonn Holmes split

AFTER separating from her husband Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford has opened up about needing therapy in the aftermath of their shock split.

Ruth and Eamonn, both 65, were together for 27 years and married for 14 when they decided to part ways last year.

It was revealed that the pair were over and they were in the process of divorcing back in May 2024, with this still currently ongoing.

Ruth, who is known for hosting Loose Women on ITV, has now opened up about needing therapy after their split.

While Eamonn moved on and got into a relationship with counsellor Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior, Ruth was attending counselling sessions and focused on her healing.

Speaking to woman&home, Ruth said: “I started counselling when Eamonn and I separated, and I’m still having it.

Ruth Langsford breaks silence on claim she’s reunited with childhood sweetheart

“It is very powerful and very useful. It gives me tools to deal with things.”

She went on to say: “My counsellor has probably seen us on TV, but she doesn’t know either of us so doesn’t get involved and doesn’t judge.

“She just listens and says, ‘Have you thought about this?’ or ‘Why did you feel like that?’

“I think I know myself very well, so it has just been calming.

“It makes me question how I’m feeling,” she added.

Ruth then added: “When my sister died, friends suggested counselling and I said, ‘I don’t [want] just [for someone] to tell me that I’m really sad,’ and I still feel like that.

“The end of a very long relationship takes a lot of unravelling. Counselling helps you move on from it, to not be held back.”

Ruth and Eamonn announced their split in the spring of 2024 after months of arguing.

Leaving their £2.5million family home in Weybridge, Eamonn soon went public with his new partner Katie.

Asked about whether she would get into a new relationship, Ruth said: “Never say never.”

Speaking to the magazine, she said: “I haven’t been put off having a relationship.

“I haven’t even been put off marriage, but I’m definitely not actively looking, and part of that is because I’ve realised I’m actually quite good on my own.

“I am independent and quite strong.”

Ruth went on: “It has taken me a bit of time [to realise that] and I don’t know what lies ahead, but that chapter now feels quite exciting.

“It’s not as scary as I thought.”

Elsewhere in her interview, Ruth said she once saw “darkness” but now sees light where she did not before.

“Do you crumble? Do you lay down and die? Oh no, not I. I will survive,” she said.

Ruth and Eamonn are not yet officially divorced, with reports swirling that they are currently at war over their money.

This Morning heartbreak as star reveals she needs brain surgery

This Morning star Michelle Elman has revealed that she is set to undergo another brain surgery after a scan showed another cyst on her brain

She has earned herself a legion of fans on the back of her life changing advice as This Morning’s relationship and life coach. But away from the cameras the TV expert has been battling a debilitating condition.

Michelle Elman recently revealed that she is to undergo surgery after a scan showed a new cyst had grown on her brain. The 32 year old star has been dealing with a condition called hydrocephalus.

This condition is caused by fluid building up on the brain creating pressure, that can be fatal if left untreated. Taking to social media, Michelle told her followers that she plans to remove the cyst next year.

On her Instagram story, she penned: “Yesterday I found out I need another brain surgery. I have a cyst in my brain again and also the magnet in my brain needs replacing.”

Currently, Michelle lives with a metal magnet on her brain which doctors inserted to control the flow of fluid to reduce a build up.

Michelle continued: “It’s not urgent but it is needed so now I have to figure out when to schedule this so it disrupts my life as little as possible. Inevitably I will have to pause my life and go deal with this, likelihood it will be next year, but until then it’s business as usual.”

But this is not the first time Michelle has been under the surgeon’s knife. She previously revealed that she has battled a brain tumour, a punctured intestine and obstructed bowels. And on the back of her various conditions, she has undergone 15 surgeries.

The TV personality has not had the best of luck. As she also shared with viewers on This Morning that she was engaged for a mere 24 hours after finding out that her fiancé, who she had been darting for three years, was cheating on her.

Hours after her partner popped the question a woman contacted her to expose her boyfriend’s deceitful behaviour.

Sat on the TV show’s infamous sofa, she revealed: “He was with me when I got the first message saying ‘Is this person your fiance?’ “I thought it was a colleague, like this person knows you, and it took a while to figure out. My first reaction was shock.”

She continued: “I was shaking and I kept saying, ‘Please tell me first I don’t want to find out from her’.”

Last year, she told hosts Ben Shepherd and Cat Deeley :”We met on a dating app, he was my first date after the pandemic. Love of my life, healthiest relationship I had ever had. I was engaged and then a woman reached out and asked if he was my fiancé. I ended up speaking to her for an hour on the phone. He was on a dating app, he was on a business trip and yeah…”

She continued: “I fully back myself. I am emotionally intelligent, smart, intelligent woman. I have every tool in my tool kit to notice red flags. If someone wants to lie to you they will. Wholeheartedly I did not see any red flags. As a red flag the second you go on their phone, the relationship is gone. The trust is gone.’

Unpacking how the revelation unfolded, she went on to say: “Then it was screenshots of the dating profile and his number, I believed her from the get go, but I needed evidence. She told me the hotel, and I said put that in your email, and it came up, then he admitted it. He admitted it and to others as well but I think my reaction was just was ‘you have ruined a good thing, this is supposed to be happiest day of my life’.”

Victoria shared a photo of herself and Holly sitting down beside one another.

The bride-to-be was seen donning a diamante-covered white minidress and a veil.

In the other snap Victoria shared, she was seen with Tana and Holly as the trio beamed for the camera.

“Yep… I have a microphone,” she teased.

Holly’s mum, and Gordon Ramsay‘s wife Tana, could be seen donning a black sparkly dress with tights.

Holly rocked some silk pyjamas in a white hue with black edging and a veil.

And Victoria gave fans a closer look at her chic black dress as she held a microphone.

Victoria’s dress had a shirt-style neckline which was open, and a completely sheer skirt.

The trio beamed besides one another as they held microphones and seemingly did a bit of karaoke.

HOLLY’S HUSBAND TO BE

Holly got engaged to Adam in September 2024, when they were in Dubai on a sun-soaked trip together.

They then threw a swanky engagement bash to celebrate with their family and friends.

Adam, who won a medal at the Paris Olympics last summer, first met Holly when her younger sister Tilly was competing alongside on Strictly in 2021.

The happy couple then went Instagram official in June 2023, and the following year they revealed they were getting married.

In a chat with OK! Magazine that came out in July 2024, Holly was asked about whether she’s keen to have a child after her one-year-old brother Jesse was welcomed into the world.

Holly responded with: “Oh my goodness – I’ve only just got a boyfriend!”

“Obviously, they’re both high performance (men) – they both bond over that, but they prefer to talk about cars, to be honest.”
