THIS is the incredible moment that Prince Harry cruised over a wave on his surfboard. 

Footage of his surfing skills was uploaded to social media by his wife Meghan Markle, accompanied by an iconic 90s track.

In the 18-second video, the Duke of Sussex can be seen flying over the waves.

Wearing a baseball cap backwards, a long-sleeve top and shorts, Harry crouches down as a wave forms behind him.

Able to stay stable on the board, the Prince can be seen lifting his hands above his head and cheering. 

And, then, Harry managed to stand up by himself while floating over the water on the surfboard.

Throughout the video, Salt-N-Pepa’s mega-hit Whatta Man, featuring En Vogue, can be heard. 

Meghan chose the chorus of the song to play during the footage, including the lyrics: “What a man, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man.”

She captioned her Instagram post: “We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this important message.”

The Duchess topped off her caption with a fox emoji.

Meghan made headlines in 2020, when she bought her husband surfing lessons for his birthday.

At the time, a source told Page Six: “Harry’s loving Montecito, Meghan bought him surfing lessons for his birthday and he’s having the best time.”

The Prince showed off his skills in 2024, when he was videoed at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch in Leemore.

The latest surfing video comes after the couple announced a new deal with Netflix, which gives the streaming giant first refusal over their suggestions for new programmes. 

Their original deal was worth £100 million and ran out this year. 

Reportedly, the pair are planning to create a documentary about the late Princess of Wales and Harry’s mother – Princess Diana. 

The show would mark the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death, after she tragically died in Paris on August 31, 1997. 

An industry source said: “If Harry wants to do it then Netflix will bite his hand off.”

The Prince has spoken candidly about losing his mother in the press, as well as in his autobiography Spare.

In the book, Harry also revealed he had visited a medium, who told him that “your mother is with you”.

The psychic said: “Your mother says, ‘You’re living the life she couldn’t. 

“You’re living the life she wanted for you’.”

Harry gave his daughter Lilibet – named after the late Queen Elizabeth II – the middle name Diana in a reference to his mother.

This village in Lanzarote has one of the longest stretches of beach on the whole island, but think twice before jumping in the water.

While it has become a hub for exceptional surfers, swimming is not advisable on this famous beach. The fishing village of Famara is widely known as a surfer’s haven, located on the northwestern coast of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. Famara is located in the municipality of Teguise, occupying a large curving bay with many miles of beaches.

But while the waters may look inviting, they can be quite treacherous due to strong currents. For that reason, only experienced surfers typically brave the sea at Famara and swimming is not advised.

The strong winds in the area also make sunbathing unpleasant, but the beach is great for more active pursuits. Kitesurfing has become extremely popular on the beach, and travellers up to the challenge can try their hand at the sport.

There are also multiple surf schools where visitors can take lessons and test the waters under trained supervision. You can book a full-day surging lesson for beginners if you are completely new to the sport.

Lessons for beginners include instructions on how to paddle, how to stand up on your board and how to catch your first wave. As an extra perk, some schools even offer video analysis sessions so you can study and better improve your technique.

The smaller beach in the area, San Juan, has hosted many professional surfing competitions over the years. For instance, Famara has previously hosted the World Surf Championship which saw 200 participants descend to the Canary Islands from all around the world.

If you are keen on an active holiday outside the water, there are also plenty of great walking routes in Famara to explore. Travellers can walk along the Risco cliffs – though this can be quite treacherous as well.

Alternatively, hikers can walk to the capital of Teguise from Famara (or vice versa if you prefer to walk downhill). The high cliffs has also made the area a hubg for hangliders and paragliders in the off-peak seasons.

If you are really uninterested in any type of active holiday, Famara still has plenty to offer. Beyond stunning sunsets and scenery that can be enjoyed from almost anywhere in the village, there are also plenty of good eats to explore.

Restaurante El Risco is a farm-to-table establishment that has been acknowledged by the Michelin Guide. According to the Guide: “The decor here is simple but with a subtle maritime-inspired feel, but what stands out most of all are the magnificent views of the Playa de Famara, the surrounding mountains and, peering out across the ocean, the outline of the bucolic island of La Graciosa.”

The Guide advises guests to book well in advance due to El Risco’s heightened popularity. “Local fish and seafood as well as rice dishes are the main highlights on the menu, although we can also highly recommend the delicious daily specials. Best to book ahead as it is usually very busy!”

Cleo Street Beach in Laguna Beach is a quiet coastal retreat just south of the bustling Main Beach. A favorite among divers, it’s home to the Cleo Street Barge (Foss 125), which sank in 1958 and now rests 50 feet underwater. Covered in sea life and corals, the barge is easily reached with a short swim from shore and lies within the Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve, an observation-only zone. Divers often spot Garibaldi, striped bass and leopard sharks exploring its preserved interior.

Though small, Cleo Street offers a peaceful escape, especially during low tide when more sandy space is available. From here, you can stroll north to Main Beach’s lively shops and restaurants or south to discover more secluded coves. Whether diving or relaxing, Cleo Street is a unique slice of beach life that blends tranquility with underwater adventure.

Construction, including replacing the stairs and building a landing spot at street level that’s ADA-accessible, is slated to begin after Labor Day and continue through May 2026. During construction, beachgoers can visit Cleo Street Beach by walking from St. Ann’s Beach to the south or Sleepy Hollow Beach to the north.

Best for: Diving, sunbathing on low tide

Dog-friendly: Dogs are not allowed off leash at any time and are not permitted on the beach between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from June 15 through Sept. 10.

It’s not the summer destination you’d expect from the head of the Catholic Church, but Pope Leo XIV’s friend has revealed his favourite summer destination

Surfing, beaches, camping and long road trips – not your typical summer for the man leading a billion Catholics. But for Pope Leo XIV, that lifestyle feels like a second home.

While Rome is now where he lives, it was in Australia where he truly enjoyed spending his down time. The 79-year-old has visited Australia many times and is said to have fallen in love with its lifestyle – its beach culture, vast roads and famous laidback spirit.

A close friend revealed it wasn’t just the beaches he fell in love during his trips, but he genuinely connected with the country’s pace and spirit. Father Banks, originally from Melbourne is a close friend of Pope Leo XIV revealed he visited the country many times and “loved the beaches”.

Banks has lived in Rome for the past 12 years and has witnessed how the Pope’s bond with Australia has grown stronger over time. “He felt very much at home in Australia, as a second home,” he added. “He enjoyed being in our company.”

But it wasn’t only the sun that he enjoyed, Pope Leo also saw the beauty in the country’s scale and silence. “He enjoyed driving from Brisbane to Sydney,” Father Banks said. It was the “the loneliness of the distances” that he was really drawn to.

However his connection with Australia was deeper than holidays. He once visited during World Youth Day – a Catholic gathering, typically held every few years. In 2008, it was hosted in Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse.

Over that time, he also stopped at St Augustine’s College in Brookvale and met students and staff in a warm, down to earth exchange. “He has many great memories of Australia,” his friend added.

Australia is known for the relaxed atmosphere, surf scene and beautiful nature, which may seem a world away from the Vatican, but it seems the contrast is exactly why the new Pope loved it.

The country offered something he often didn’t find elsewhere, a place to slow down and just be – enjoying the outdoors and easygoing attitude. Whether it was the freedom of an open road or the casual warmth of a location conversation, Australia gave Pope Leo something beyond a holiday – it gave him a feeling of home, according to Father Banks.

Pope Leo was appointed last week and as he steps into one of the most powerful spiritual roles in the world, the memories he made in Australia will undoubtedly stay with him.
