PERRIE Edwards has laid bare her former heartache over her “hellish” split with boyband singer Zayn Malik.

The Little Mix alum, who started dating the One Direction star in 2012, told of her “breakdowns” following their break-up in 2015.

The pair became engaged prior to calling time on their relationship, yet things ended badly, with Perrie, 32, claiming that Zayn broke up with her via text.

Rumours were also rife that he cheated on the Black Magic singer and the popstar, who now is a mum of two and set to wed fiance Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, has again hinted at infidelity and “overlap” in a new chat on podcast Great Company.

She bravely re-visited her “hellish” heartache in the chat with Made in Chelsea alum Jamie Laing and said of her split with Zayn: “When you go through heartbreak, it is hellish.

“It’s the worst thing in the world. You can’t eat. You can’t sleep. You feel horrendous.

“You feel abandoned and you don’t feel good enough and you feel like you’ve been left for something better or whatever it is.

“And then what makes it even worse is, I felt like the world was then looking at me, laughing at me.

‘Not my fans, my fans were like, ‘we love you, we’ll fight your corner no matter what.’ But I felt embarrassed. I felt horrified. It was awful”.

The Shout Out To My Ex hitmaker then told Jamie she didn’t stay sane in the aftermath of the split and had “serious breakdowns”.

She added: “It wasn’t just the heartbreak I was dealing with.

“I was dealing with everybody looking at me and I felt ridiculed. I just couldn’t cope with it.

“I hated it. I was breaking down in performances, which isn’t like me at all. I was breaking down. I was crying constantly. I think I was depressed.

“And I know it sounds ridiculous, but I think it was this plus, this plus, this and everything on top.

“I had to be there for the girls. I had to be switched on. I had to power through for Little Mix, but I also just wanted to be left the f**k alone. But I also was getting followed every two seconds and asked about it 24/7”.

In the lengthy chat she hinted at an “overlap” between Zayn and another of his lovers and admitted she “needed to be careful” how to phrase it.

She then referenced his music video for his debut solo single Pillowtalk, which featured supermodel Gigi Hadid, who would go on to be his girlfriend and the mother of his child.

Perrie said: “I need to be careful how I say this, but there was, let’s just say there was a bit of a… I’m just going to say it.

“So there was a bit of an overlap.

“I think when you’re moving on with somebody else you always get on better.

“When you’re the one left behind, that’s when it’s hard because it’s like, ‘Oh s**t, they’ve left me for someone more beautiful than me, someone better than me.’

‘Whatever it is, that’s how it felt at the time.

“And then you have a song that they’ve written about you, but then someone else is in the video.”

The Sun has gone to Zayn’s rep for comment.

Thankfully, Perrie’s love life is now firmly on the up.

The singer and footballer fiance Alex, both 32, announced their engagement four years ago and share children Axel, four, and Alanis, who was born in January.

Zayn and Gigi dated in 2015 and had an on-off relationship until 2021.

They share daughter Khai, who was born in 2020.

Ariana Grande and boyfriend Ethan Slater have broken up, according to reports.

The couple, who starred in both Wicked films, had been together for three years.

TMZ reports that the separation is amicable and the pair remain good friends.

Unlike Lily Allen’s searingly personal music after her split rom husband David Harbour, the publication writes that Ariana’s new upcoming album, Petal, isn’t inspired by her own split.

Meanwhile People claims the pair “have been quietly broken up for several months.”

This tallies with rumours that had been swirling around the relationship prior to the split that the pair were struggling to make their busy schedules work.

Just this weekend, on the very first night of Ariana’s Eternal Sunshine Tour at the weekend, her fans thought she’d put the speculation to bed by alluding to an engagement.

The couple got together in controversial circumstances.

Around the same time, Ethan went through a messy divorce from Lilly Jay, his wife of five years, just a year after the birth of their son, Ezra.

Despite rumours alleging Ethan’s romance started with Ariana on the set of Wicked while he was still married to Lilly, sources close to the pop star insist the couple had been separated for two months.

Though the two broke up, she doesn’t seem burned by the WAG lifestyle or the relationship and has said that she is open to dating a footballer again. “I’m open to getting to know everyone,” she said. “If I like you, I like you, so I’m not put off from dating footballers.”

Jasmine and Hector dated in 2021. “That relationship was so long ago, I don’t think about it anymore. It was a very healthy and lovely relationship and I suppose it did prepare me a little for high profile things but my main preparation has come from my mum and my sister and my friends. I have a huge support network.”

Now that she’s heading to Majorca, Jasmine has been very clear that she is open to meeting anyone – as long as they aren’t insecure. “My biggest ick is an insecure man,” she warned. “I’m quite a secure woman so I can’t date an insecure man.”

She added: “Honestly, how would he deal with me? That’s the real question. I don’t think insecure men could handle me. I pick up on insecurity straight away, and it just wouldn’t end well. By the end of it, he’d probably hate me.”

Jasmine has described her type on paper as “objectively hot”. If she finds him, she’d going “straight for the goal”. “Life is too short to play it sage, that’s boring,” she said. “You don’t go on Love Island to play it safe.”

As well as finding the fully secure love of her life, Jasmine is hoping to keep up the legacy left by Shakira Khan from series 12. Shakira was in the OG line up as well and was hugely popular, coming second on the show with her partner Harry Cooksley. Speaking after the show, Shakira revealed that one of the reasons she wanted to do it was because she wanted to be the representation for Asian women that she never had growing up.

“Being a fellow brown girl, it was lovely to see her be so honest,” Jasmine said when asked which Islanders she took as inspiration. “I hope I can do that for other brown girls.”

She’s hoping not to be drawn into drama in the same way Shakira was, but can’t deny that she is hoping to be a bit of a peacekeeper on the show. “I’m always involved in everyone’s business. I’m basically the auntie of the group. Everyone literally calls me ‘Jasmine Auntie.'”

Jasmine admits that has some draw backs though. “I’m so used to being there for other people that putting my issues first is a new thing. But I just think of what my Mum would say and what she would tell me to do. She’s so supportive, she even zipped up my suitcase to come here!”

May 29 (Asia Today) — Leaders of South Korea’s rival political parties urged voters to cast ballots Friday, the first day of early voting for the June 3 local elections, but their strategies showed different approaches.

Chung Chung-rae, leader of the Democratic Party, and Han Byung-do, the party’s floor leader, both voted on the first day of early voting. People Power Party leader Chang Dong-hyeok and floor leader Song Eon-seok divided their roles, with Chang choosing to vote on Election Day and Song planning to vote early.

Chung began his schedule Friday by casting an early ballot at the Seongsan 2-dong Community Service Center in Mapo District, Seoul. After voting, he attended a meeting of the party’s central election committee in Seoul and urged voters to participate.

“Voting is stronger than bullets,” Chung said. “Power does not come from the barrel of a gun. It comes from the polling place.”

Han also visited an early voting station before heading to campaign events in Namwon, North Jeolla Province.

“Early voting will be held for two days starting today,” Han said. “Please exercise your precious vote for the future of South Korea.”

The major opposition People Power Party took a different approach. Chang plans to vote on Election Day, while Song is scheduled to cast an early ballot Saturday.

The move is seen as a strategy to appeal both to the party’s hard-line conservative base and more moderate conservative voters. Chang and Song have also divided campaign duties during the election period, focusing on separate schedules.

Chang campaigned Friday in Sejong and western Gyeonggi Province.

“The atmosphere is changing as we lead this election, but if we lose by even one vote, there is no future for South Korea,” Chang said. “Everything depends on your one vote. Please do not leave yourself with regret by failing to go to the polling place.”

Song said he plans to vote early Saturday in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, his electoral district.

At a news conference at the National Assembly earlier Friday, Song acknowledged that some political figures have argued against early voting.

“It is true that there are some movements in political circles saying people should not vote early, but I will not say that is our party,” Song said. “There is a big difference between holding voting over three days and holding it for only one day.”

“In reality, the number of votes cast during the two days of early voting and on Election Day is close to half and half,” he said. “I think voters should vote over the three days, including early voting, according to their circumstances and schedules.”

Park Sung-hoon, chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, said both early voting and Election Day voting are important exercises of political rights.

“To strategically encourage both early voting and Election Day voting, we decided that the floor leader would vote early and the party leader would participate in Election Day voting, taking his schedule into account,” Park said.
