All Creatures Great and Small fans ‘sobbing’ over Siegfried Farnon’s confession

Channel 5 viewers returned to Darrowby for a new series of All Creatures Great and Small on Thursday night.

Feelings ran sky-high on Thursday evening as the sixth series of All Creatures Great and Small kicked off.

The cherished Channel 5 programme has returned in earnest with audiences heading back to Darrowby in 1945, following a brief time leap from the last series.

Whilst one cast member has already hinted at ‘drastic’ developments to come, it was Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West) and Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) who commanded attention.

As the episode opened, audiences discovered Mrs Hall had departed Skeldale House to be with her son and granddaughter in Sunderland.

Yet, it was evident that Siegfried hadn’t coped well with her leaving as the veterinary surgery had fallen into disrepair, reports the Manchester Evening News.

With Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse) and James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) choosing to intervene, they travelled to Sunderland to speak with Mrs Hall, encouraging her to come back.

As she agreed to return, though only briefly, there was a tense mood as it was apparent Siegfried was wounded by her departure, though he expressed this through rage and irritation instead.

When Mrs Hall chose to depart early, thinking he didn’t wish her to remain, she became emotional whilst leaving the property. As Siegfried, Tristan and James came back to the house and discovered she’d departed, he admitted: “I drove her away.”

Urged to reach her before the train departed, Siegfried dashed to the station, arriving just in time.

Racing towards her in a cinematic moment, Siegfried confessed he had attempted to find a substitute for her role, but nobody else compared.

When he asked if she’d consider remaining, Mrs Hall found herself distracted by jubilant crowds on the platform as news broke out that the war had officially ended.

As the programme came to an end, the entire village was awash with festivities as residents discovered Mrs Hall had chosen to remain.

Walking arm-in-arm together, she confessed: “It’s good to be back.” To which he responded: “It’s good to have you back.”

It wasn’t long before viewers found themselves moved to tears by the pair’s chemistry, with countless fans flocking to X to express their emotions.

One viewer declared: “SIEGFRIED ADMITTING HE WAS SO UPSET WITHOUT HER THAT HE WASN’T FINE OH IM GONNA SOB.”

Another fan exclaimed: “Oh bl**dy hell I’m sobbing.” Whilst a third penned: “I AM CRYINGGGG HOWLINGGGG SCREAMINGGGG.”

Someone else posted: “Goosebumps! HE’S RUNNING LIKE HELL.” One person remarked: “At last, how long have we waited for that hug #ACGAS Everyone now reaching for a tissue.”

Meanwhile another added: “Incredible, lost for words at the moment.”

All Creatures Great and Small is available to watch on My5.

MAFS icon Emma Barnes: ‘My warning for couples and why sobbing bride isn’t real deal’

MAFS UK’s Emma Barnes knows first hand what it’s like to walk down the aisle towards a stranger and is ready to give her insight in a weekly column

The autumn chill is settling in, and what better way to celebrate than with a dose of wedding chaos!

Luckily, we have Married At First Sight legend Emma Barnes here to give her verdict for the Mirror on all the weekly tears and madness the E4 show…

Firstly… Welcome to my weekly column! Honoured to pen my thoughts on, let’s face it, the UK’s welcome to Autumn. Darker nights, drama-filled dinner parties and clinging onto the hope of some happy endings while our dating life is in tatters: MAFS IS BACK PEOPLE!

What a first couple of episodes! The series will fly by with this new format, switching between weddings and honeymoons. We all get a bit bored of the often repetitive nuptials and personally I’d send Mel, Charlene and Paul to the honeymoons, some of these couples need them.

The cast seem a kind, calmer collective than the previous couple of series (for now, we all know!). I think I’d totally fit in with this group had I not made it into last series. Love that there’s two same sex couples, and I want to be bezzies with Nelly immediately.

This week Davide and Keye hitched in a classy, emotional day (round of applause on their guest’s pure style please!). Sarah’s asked for a bad boy and her new husband pre-wrote an acapella number that went down like a lead balloon, and we all learnt some lessons in feminism from Grace’s protective pal.

READ MORE: ‘I’m a beauty writer and this Clarins deal stack gets £278 worth of free products’

If you go into this experiment expecting the full package, you’re going to be disappointed, and emotions were running high. Types come up every year, two brides had tears after their vows. Sarah’s never dated someone like Dean. She likes a flirt, a cheeky wink and someone to through her down on the bed and rip her clothes off. Dean with the dimples is a kind, gentle, poet, and that’s not helping his sex appeal.

Grace expected an instant spark, (Ashley is going to have queues at his door if this doesn’t work out, he’s totally a bit of me!) but here’s the thing; from my experience women are more open to getting to know the person if the spark isn’t there. It will be a refreshing twist on blokes wanting fit birds and nothing else. Mark my words I predict one of these couples will go some distance with a sprinkling of expert help.

This is why we get hooked, the twists, turns, feedback and growth. The happiest couples on their wedding day face rocks in the road, while what starts off Grace’s tears after the ceremony could turn in a river of love by Christmas. Plenty of weddings to go so strap in, get hitched onto that sofa and get a wine and crisp in hand.

P.S I hate taking out the bins – totally a blue job if I had a boyfriend…

The emotional episode left many in tears, particularly as the real life Ann made a cameo alongside Sheridan Smith, who played her throughout the series.

In the final scenes, viewers watch as Ann and her husband Charlie head line dancing, with Ann seeing a vision of her daughter Julie across the dance floor after putting her killer behind bars. She then continues line dancing with Charlie as text on the screens tells viewers that at least ten people have been retried and convicted of murder since the double jeopardy law was overturned, with Ann receiving an MBE in 2007 for her services to criminal justice.

The show then revealed that Charlie (played by Daniel York Loh) battled with Parkinson’s Disease until his death in 2013 while Ann still lives in the North East and works with police forces across the country to improve how they engage with victims of violent crime.

I AirTaged my daughter to keep her safe as Disney but it nearly killed her – her three siblings were sobbing

A MUM bought Apple AirTags to keep her children safe at Disneyland – only for it to ‘ironically’ leave her daughter in hospital after swallowing the battery.

Lisa Marie says she purchased four of the tracking devices to ‘keep her children safe’ during a family trip to the theme park, but they ended up causing more harm than good.

After realising the AirTags were broken during the holiday to the popular resort in Anaheim, California, US, in April, Lisa had stored them away in the glovebox of her car while she waited to get them repaired.

But the mum-of-four was left ‘terrified’ when her daughter Lily Grace made a ‘gulping sound’ from the back of the car on May 23 – and she realised that she’d swallowed one of the batteries.

The four-year-old was rushed to hospital where an x-ray scan revealed that the coin-sized battery had already reached her bowel.

The family faced an agonising four-day weight for Lily to pass the battery in her bowel movements – with her three siblings left ‘fearing she was going to die’.

Button batteries can cause significant damage to the lining of the child’s oesophagus or bowel – in some cases it may have burned through the lining completely to form a hole.

In 2020, two-year-old Johnathan Huff tragically died in Greensboro, North Carolina, after swallowing batteries from a remote control, which burned through his internal organs.

Thankfully Lily was left with no lasting side effects and was able to pass the battery naturally.

Lisa says she had repeatedly warned her children of the dangers of button batteries over the years, with the latest warning issued just two weeks prior to the incident.

In a social media post, Lily says her greatest fear had been a child swallowing a button battery so had repeatedly warned her children of the dangers of them over the years.

She goes on to admit the ‘irony’ of the batteries coming from Airtags she had bought to try to keep the kids safe.

iPhone owner admits ‘I’m actually scared’ after pop-up appears on Lock Screen – Apple reveals urgent steps if you see it

The stay-at-home mum is now urging other parents to ‘throw away’ items containing button batteries.

Lisa said: “I bought the Apple Airtags to keep my kids safe. Disneyland is scary so I bought them to track my kids.

“The things that I thought would keep my kids safe are actually what caused harm.

“The AirTags weren’t working so I put them into our glove box so that we could take them to the Apple Store.

“I never ended up finding one so we came back home and I forgot they were there. I thought I’d eventually get them fixed.

“I didn’t think that my daughter would go into the glove box, let alone open up the Airtags and find a button battery and swallow it.

“She was sat in the back of the car and she made a big gulp sound and told me she’d swallowed a quarter.

“Me and my husband were like what do you mean? Why would you swallow a quarter?

“It was crazy to us that anyone would do that but when she started making sounds, all I thought it my head was that it was a button battery.”

Lisa and her husband Markus, 48, originally from the US but now living in Vancouver Island, Canada, rushed Lily to hospital where an x-ray scan revealed there was a button battery in her bowel.

She didn’t require surgery but the family faced an agonising four-day wait for the button battery to pass through in her bowel movements.

Lisa said: “As a mum, when we figured out it was a button battery I was like okay, her whole insides are burned out. I was on the bathroom floor of the hospital crying.

“It was very emotional and my husband had to dress up in surgery scrubs to see if they could scope it out.

“They couldn’t because it had gone to her bowels already – it was good that it was moving.”

They were then sent home and told to wait four days for things to progress.

“I was giving her laxatives and all kinds of things to try and get this thing out of her.

“I had her on trampolines, on a vibration plate, eating prunes, everything,” she said.

Finally, it did come out, but the emotional toll was a lot for the family.

“I didn’t sleep. It was awful. It was really hard, the other kids were like ‘I hope Lily doesn’t die’.

“I wouldn’t want that to happen to anybody else. It was very scary.”

Lisa is now urging other parents to throw out toys containing button batteries.

Lisa said: “If you have any toys that have button batteries in them then throw them out, get rid of them.

“The hard thing I’ve had is people buy gifts for the kids [which contain button batteries] so they keep showing up in my house.

“It’s like a nightmare that won’t go away. Really educate your kids. Just know that you’re never safe – be over cautious.”

Love Is Blind UK stars say ‘we were sobbing and holding each other’ after wedding ‘trauma’

EXCLUSIVE: Four members of the Love Is Blind UK season 2 cast have opened up about the ‘trauma’ of reliving their wedding days.

*Warning – this article contains spoilers for Love Is Blind UK season 2.*

Season 2 of Love Is Blind UK has now come to an end, with the explosive reunion episode on Sunday night revealing which marriages have lasted months on from when the cameras stopped rolling.

In the Netflix show’s season 2 finale, we saw three couples tie the knot: Kieran and Megan, Billy and Ashleigh and Kal and Sarover.

Meanwhile, Bardha made the difficult decision to turn down Jed at the altar, and Katisha chose to walk away from her relationship with Javen ahead of their wedding day.

In the reunion, it was revealed that just one couple – Kieran and Megan – have stayed together, while the other two pairs called it quits months after filming had wrapped.

In an exclusive interview, four stars from Love Is Blind UK season 2 sat down to speak about their experience on the Netflix show, including the emotional ordeal of watching their wedding episodes back after their relationships had ended.

Admitting it felt like they were ‘living double the trauma’, Ashleigh began: Can we just talk about when we watched the weddings together? Because that was like…”

“That was horrible,” Katisha confirmed, as Ashleigh continued: “We were all curled up on one bed sobbing. Fetal [position], intertwined, all four of us just sobbing.”

Bardha then expanded: “It was really hard to watch, I think. And we didn’t realise how we were going to react.”

However, she went on to highlight the bond they had formed with one another, adding: “It was just so nice to have each other and support each other through that. Like, I don’t think I could have watched that alone.”

“We cried for each other,” Sarover reflected sadly, adding that they were “holding each other so tight”.

Looking back at their time on the show, Ashleigh elaborated: “This is real lives, this is real human beings.

We Were Liars star Caitlin Fitzgerald reacts to TikTok videos of fans sobbing at emotional finale

We Were Liars left Prime Video subscribers distraught in the last few moments of its agonising finale.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from We Were Liars.

We Were Liars star Caitlin Fitzgerald has addressed fans’ emotional TikTok videos as they film themselves reacting to the drama’s final episode.

Based on author E. Lockhart’s novel of the same name, We Were Liars revolves around the extraordinarily rich Sinclair family who spend their summers at their private island off the coast of Massachusetts.

One summer, Cadence Sinclair (played by Emily Alyn Lind) was involved in an incident that she can remember nothing about and no one will tell her what happened.

But it was the last episode of the Prime Video drama where her world really came crashing down when she discovers that she and her cousins Johnny (Joseph Zada) and Mirren Sinclair (Esther McGregor) and family friend Gat Patil (Shubham Maheshwari) set the mansion on fire.

In a devastating turn of events though, Cadence was the only one who was able to get out in time with Johnny, Mirren and Gat all dying in the blaze.

We Were Liars is based on the best-selling book of the same name by author E. Lockhart.

Throughout the series, Cadence had simply been imagining her friends were by her side, and was beside herself when she realised the truth.

Understandably, subscribers who hadn’t read the book were shocked, with an ongoing TikTok trend of fans filming themselves sobbing at the finale.

When Screen Time spoke to Penny Sinclair star Caitlin Fitzgerald about the reaction on social media, she admitted she wasn’t surprised.

“I always feel like I have to slightly apologise for what we put you through with that show. It’s a rough ride”, Fitzgerald laughs.

“A few years after the book came out during Covid, there was a similar kind of reading the last chapter and filming yourself weeping.

“So I was somewhat prepared for it but we knew because we couldn’t get through the script.”

We Were Liars' Cadence Sinclair is played by actress Emily Alyn Lind.

Fitzgerald continues: “We did a read through of the final episode and all of us were beside ourselves.

“Even David Morrissey who is quite a stoic guy, was just like ‘give me a second’, had to kind of compose himself.

“And we knew what was coming so I can only imagine what it was like the first go around if you didn’t know.”

An official renewal hasn’t been given to We Were Liars just yet but there are talks of a prequel in the works, based on Lockhart’s novel Family of Liars.

So fans are just going to have to wait for now to find out if there will be more on the way from the Sinclair family.

We Were Liars is available to watch on Prime Video.

Riverdale star ‘unrecognisable’ in trailer for romance that has fans ‘sobbing’

The Map That Leads to You will hit Prime Video UK this summer and has already sent fans of the novel into a frenzy over the tearjerker trailer

KJ Apa, famed for his role as Archie Andrews in Riverdale, is unrecognisable in the newly released trailer for a captivating romance film set to premiere on Prime Video next month.

Adapted from JP Monninger’s novel, the film introduces us to Heather Mulgrew, portrayed by Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, a young traveller whose life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Apa’s enigmatic character, Jack, during her European holiday.

Heather, who’s on a quest for self-discovery before embarking on her career in New York City, finds herself swept up in a whirlwind romance with Jack, a man tracing his grandfather’s footsteps through a journal.

Their journey ignites a passionate affair as they traverse the picturesque landscapes of Spain, Portugal, and Italy, hinting that their connection might be more than a fleeting summer romance.

Yet, as they delve deeper into their relationship, complexities arise, forcing Heather to choose between her ambitions and what could be the love of her life, reports the Express.

Riverdale enthusiasts who’ve lost touch with Apa’s breakthrough series may do a double-take upon seeing the Kiwi actor in this new persona.

Ditching Archie’s iconic red locks for a tousled darker mane and sporting some stubble, Apa also sheds the American accent, fully immersing himself in this fresh character.

The forthcoming drama flick, helmed by the director of What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Lasse Hallström, will feature Sofia Wylie from The School for Good and Evil and Ozark’s Madison Thompson as Heather’s closest friends.
