‘I visited Primark 10 mins from Disneyland and was amazed by what I found’

Most people know that a trip to Disneyland doesn’t come cheap. However, one couple have shared a money-saving hack to anyone who is visiting Disneyland – head to the Primark that is just 10 minutes away from it

Quite a few parents may be planning to take their kids to Disneyland Paris now that’s it’s half term in the UK. With many children getting a two-week half term break from school, it’s the perfect time for a holiday to the magical destination in Paris to celebrate Halloween and have some Autumn fun.

However, most parents know that a trip to Disneyland doesn’t come cheap – especially when you’re spending out on accessorises in the park. However, one couple have shared a money-saving hack to anyone who is visiting Disneyland – head to the Primark that is just 10 minutes away from it.

Sofia and Arran, known as @sofia.and.arran on TikTok, shared the tip with their 119,000 followers on the app.

The video began with Sofia seen outside the Primark as she said: “The Disneyland Primark is unreal, it’s huge… let’s go see what they’ve got.”

Sofia then told her followers that she “really wanted some Mickey ears”, which will set you back around €25 (£22) inside Disneyland.

Arran then said the Primark had “so much Disney stock” due to the fact that it’s so near to Disneyland. “We always come a day before a visit,” he said.

The first Disney product Sofia spied was some Stitch character slippers, as Aran said he’d ‘never seen them in the UK’. Sofia exclaimed: “I need them.”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

However, they later revealed that there was a “whole wall” of Stitch products, what with the Lilo & Stitch film recently being released.

Sofia also saw some cute pyjamas based on the film ‘Up’, as the pair said they “loved” the movie.

The next product was some Halloween-themed Mickey ears and pyjamas.

Some Mini Mouse slippers were also available in the shop, as were some Flinstones pyjamas.

The pair then grabbed some Mini Mouse ears as well as some more Halloween-themed Mickey ears.

The couple didn’t reveal the prices that the products were, however, they did say the ears were only €5 (£4.35).

Many people were excited about the products, as one person wrote: “I love the Halloween ears.”

While another added: “Wait, I never knew this, I just left Disneyland.”

A third chimed in: “Yes love the Primark! I got a bag when I went in October.”

However, not everyone was as enthralled, as one person moaned: ” I was there in March and they had nothing good.”

While another added: “The majority of this stuff (excluding the ears) can be bought at UK Primarks.”

The Primark the couple are referring to is located in the Val d’Europe shopping centre, which is a short 7-minute walk from the park.

The Val d’Europe centre is located directly next to Disneyland Paris and is accessible from the resort.

Best suitcase for long-haul flights according to a travel editor that will last a lifetime

I’ve bought, tried out and travelled with dozens of suitcases over the years, but I couldn’t believe the quality of this one – it’s so lightweight and easy to push

As a travel editor of over 10 years, I should know a thing or two about packing – and while admittedly I’ve yet to master the art of travelling light, I like to think that I know which suitcases are the best.

I’ve owned and used lots of different sizes and from different brands over the years, including Antler, American Tourister and Away, but the latest I’ve tried has impressed me the most.

After seemingly constantly seeing all the most stylish and jet-set travellers raving about Briggs & Riley luggage, I got my hands on the brand’s Torq Large Hardside Spinner – and it proven to be the best suitcase I’ve ever used.

READ MORE: ‘I found a stylish island retreat under 4 hours away that’s still hot in October’

READ MORE: Nespresso brings back much-loved pumpkin spice coffee for creating PSLs at home for less

Although fairly standard in design, inside this suitcase seems incredibly spacious, with no chunky mechanisms or parts of its structure taking up the precious packing area (although I do swear by packing cubes to maximise the space). It’s split 70/30 between each side, meaning the lid won’t be too heavy to close – something that’s not always thought about.

Other nice touches include a crease-resisting suit holder, a handle that’s long enough even for someone tall like me, and the ability to have your initials added onto a subtle section on the front for free.

Once packed and setting off on my travels, however, what impressed me the most was just how easily it manoeuvred – it’s so lightweight and the 360-degree ball-bearing spinner wheels glided like a dream across the floor, and in fact if seemed as if you barely needed to touch it to get it moving. For this reason I think this case would be an excellent choice for anyone with back or shoulder issues, as it really requires very little effort to pull or push.

At £599 for a medium and £679 for a large, these suitcases are certainly an investment, but Briggs & Riley luggage all comes with a lifetime guarantee, meaning that if yours breaks or is damaged – even by an airline – the brand will repair it for free – you don’t even need to provide proof of purchase. This means that you genuinely may only need to buy one suitcase in your lifetime.

If this is a little out of your budget, however, I also own and can vouch for Antler’s Large Suitcase, £255; although not quite as high quality as Briggs & Riley’s, it has served me well on many a travel.

Alternatively there are some bargain ones to be found on Amazon. This medium Amazon Basics one comes in five colours, starts from £59.49 and has thousands of five star reviews, while this ATX Luggage one is even cheaper currently at £50.99.

Ready for her first appearance on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, contestant Dani Dyer has been showing fans some behind the scenes snaps, with one in particular causing a stir with fans. In one photo, the former Love Island winner showed off a stunning nameplate necklace she’d had made with each of her children’s names – Summer, Star and Santi (short for Santiago) – that fans couldn’t get enough of.

One comment said: “Loved the necklace” whilst plenty of others were begging for details. Although Dani didn’t share where she’d bought it, our sleuthing skills have tracked down one that’s identical, with the Multi Crystal Cursive Name Necklace hailing from Abbott Lyon.

Whilst we can’t say for certain, we’re pretty sure that this is the exact same necklace Dani had made as a tribute to her children. The Abbott Lyon necklace lets you choose up to five different names that can be added to it, and comes in either gold or silver with a cubic zirconia crystal finish.

The brand is popular with other celebs, with both Stacey Solomon and Olivia Attwood both recently launching their very own collections with Abbott Lyon, so it wouldn’t be a surprise that Dani has taken a leaf out of their book. The Multi Crystal Cursive Name Necklace is also pretty affordable, costing between £95 for two names or up to £110 for five different names, and if you use the code TAKE10 you’ll save 10% – bringing it down to £85.50 – not to mention orders over £79 get a free bracelet worth £49.

You also have the option of customising the chain length, and each name can carry up to eight characters. The Crystal Cursive Name Necklace is made from 18k gold-plated stainless steel, and is water, sweat and heat resistant – perfectly for wearing whilst dancing on Strictly.

If the sparkles aren’t for you, you could also head over to PRYA, where the Miami Multiple Name Necklace is currently on sale. Usually priced at £78 for two names, or £128 for five names, the necklace has been slashed to £50 for two names, or £68 for five – making it a huge saving.

For something a little more dainty, the Multiple Name Necklace from Abiza is available at Not on the High Street, and also has a 20% discount at the moment, slashing it from £53 to £43.40. You can add up to four names, which incurs an extra cost of £22.40, making it £65.80.

However Abbott Lyon’s Crystal Cursive Name Necklace is your top pick if you want to copy Dani’s look, and it seems shoppers are also huge fans of the necklace. It currently only has two reviews, but they’re both five star ones with one simply writing: “Beautiful necklace.”

Whilst the second said: “I brought this for my sister she was almost in tears I am so bad at keeping secrets I didn’t tell her that I was going to order something like this she has always wanted something personalized with her children’s names it come out so outstanding it looked great the quality and care that went into it was above and beyond.”

Whilst the necklace makes a great treat for yourself, it also makes a beautiful meaningful gift – especially as we start to head towards Christmas. And don’t forget to take advantage of the discount code while it’s still available – you can keep the free bracelet for yourself, or consider it one Christmas gift to cross off your list!

Traditional towels can take ages to dry so even in the sunniest of spots they might not be ready in time for the next trip to the beach or pool, but one brand has a solution.

Dock and Bay’s quick-drying towels are ideal for holidays and beach trips.

There’s nothing more frustrating than a soggy beach towel on your jollies. Traditional towels can take an age to dry, meaning even in the sunniest of spots, they might not be ready for your next trip to the lido or beach.

However, there is a solution as bargain hunters can snap up towels from the Dock and Bay Summer Sale, running from August 21-28 and offering up to 50% off its popular towels and accessories. Dock and Bay beach towels are crafted from 100% recycled plastic bottles and feature a fabric that is said to dry three times faster than cotton.

Sand is also able to shake right off due to the loopless weave, while the lightweight design makes them a doddle to carry. Each towel comes with a matching pouch so customers can pack it up neatly for trips to the beach, lido or lake.

Available in a variety of vibrant patterns, these towels are designed to stay fresh and absorbent even after being washed. Among the options on sale are the Quick Dry Towels – Sand to Sea, which is down from £28 to £19.59 and comes in a range of colours such as Tangerines and Greens, Cancun Green, Phi Phi Pink and a set of six Rainbow Shores with funky designs.

Touted as being perfect for travellers and explorers, they are also available in sizes large or extra large, with children’s beach towels also available which are foldable, lightweight and compact. These come in various colours including the Turtley Tropical (£18), Build-A-Beach (£18) or a simple Goa Grey (£20), reports the Daily Record.

Another option is the Printed Microfibre Towel (£12.99) from Mountain Warehouse which is lightweight and said to dry up to four times quicker than a standard towel with extra absorption. But the Dock and Bay towels have received excellent reviews and achieved a 4.9-star rating from customers.

One happy shopper said: “Massive, lightweight, vibrant colours, super soft, very impressed.” Another said: “Absolutely love my Dock and Bay towel. Looks fab and it dried me super quick, so good I have just purchased the head towel.”

Not everyone was satisfied though, as one reviewer said: “Towel arrived in good time but sadly was sent back the same day.” While another satisfied customer said: “Bought for myself, love the stripes. Super quick drying and packs away very small in a nice pouch. 10 out of 10.”

Maya Jama’s £27 anti-frizz treatment kept her hair sleek and shiny for the Love Island finale

Maya Jama’s hair stylist has shared exactly how to recreate her sleek and glossy Love Island finale hair, including the £27 treatment that stopped frizzing in the humidity

Monday night’s Love Island finale may have finally revealed who would be crowned this season’s winner, but we still have some burning questions of our own. Namely, how did Maya Jama get her hair to stay so smooth and shiny in the Spanish heat?

With plenty of us jetting off on holiday this summer, we’ve all had our hair fall foul of the humidity, with the high temperatures and damp air leaving our hair frizzy, dry and dull looking. However Maya’s hair has never looked glossier, so we turned to her hair stylist Jay Birmingham for answers.

Jay said: “For Maya’s Love Island finale hair, we wanted to create a dreamy, effortless look.” To make sure her hair stayed sleek and frizz-free throughout the finale, one of the first things he applied to Maya’s hair was the Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray (£27).

Jay shared that he applied it in sections before blow-drying Maya’s hair with the Dyson supersonic hairdryer, which helps to activate the treatment and creates that mirror-like shine that the Love Island host’s hair is famous for. The Color Wow spray also makes your hair waterproof, wards off humidity, protects from heat damage and seals in moisture, making it a saviour to bring in your suitcase.

Once her hair was dried, Jay used a GHD styling iron to enhance the curl definition, with particular focus on the ends. The curls were then brushed out to turn them into softer and looser waves, rather than rigid curls, to give it a more fluid look without too much texture.

The shine was why we were all so fixated on Maya’s hair, and to double up on the gloss factor Jay also added the Split Seal Serum from his own haircare brand, Jay B Haircare. This smoothed the hair and gave it that extra glossy finish.

Finally, to make sure there wasn’t a strand out of place during the finale’s drama, Jay used Living Proof’s Style Lab Flex Hair Spray to seal everything in place. He added that the hairspray is “one of my go-tos for creating effortless, flowing styles. It holds without stiffness and keeps the hair touchable and brushable throughout the night.”

And there you have it – one ultra-glossy, mirror-like shiny ‘do that Maya herself would be proud of. Now just don’t forget to pack them in your suitcase.

Best space-saving toiletries bag according to a travel editor – and now with 20% off

I’m a regular traveller, but I don’t go anywhere without this handy, practical beauty bag that I bought from Amazon years ago – and it’s now reduced in price to under £25

Amazon toiletries bag
My must-have travel toiletries bag is now on sale(Image: Amazon)

As someone who travels often for both work and pleasure, from overnight stays to long-haul holidays, I like to think that I’ve become something of a pro at packing neatly and concisely. For my clothes, I’ve recently invested in a set of the best packing cubes I’ve ever used, and for toiletries, this trusty Amazon bag of mine can’t be beaten.

It might not be the most luxurious or the most elegant of items (my boyfriend think it looks like an old lady’s handbag), but in terms of practicality and price, I’ve never found anything that’s even half as good – especially as it’s currently reduced from £29.99 to £23.99. Here’s why I love it so much…

A travel must-have for Laura(Image: Amazon)

I first saw this toiletries bag recommended by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin on Instagram and, as she’s someone who probably always packs a lot of products, I thought it was worth trying out.

I have the larger one (there’s also a medium, and all are available in several different colours), and it’s perfect for most of my travels. Things I love about it including the hook for hanging it up in the bathroom, saving previous sink space, the compartments with elasticated straps to stop your products rolling around, and how neatly it all folds up into itself. It even fits neatly inside this handy Antler backpack (now on sale) that I use for overnight stays in the city for work.

I use the smaller two sections for things like scrunchies, tweezers and cleansing clothes, and the larger two compartments for skincare and body care. They’re large enough to fit enough stuff for a good number of days away – including a full-size deodorant and shampoo. The only additional things I sometimes need to pack separately are sun creams (I’m very sun-sensitive and so go through a lot of them!).

My make-up also goes in another bag – one like this popular Space NK zip-up one – which fits neatly into corners of suitcases and stops my products from getting crushed.

Space NK make-up bag
A nice option for storing make-up(Image: Space NK )

Although not particularly fancy, this fold-up Amazon toiletries bag has lasted me years and travelled all over the world with me – and I won’t be without it now.

If you did want something a little fancier, perhaps as a nice gift idea, these velvet embroidered Elizabeth Scarlett bags are perfect for make-up, and open up flat for easy access.

And for something a little more compact and minimalist – perhaps for men – Antler’s Essential Washbag is now reduced from £25 to £20.

You can shop the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer at Cult Beauty

Despite plenty of shoppers loving the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer, one didn’t get on with the formula saying: “Tried to love this… found it drying and wasn’t great at covering dark circles. It gives a fair amount of coverage if you don’t have major eye bags or discolouration etc.”

Other shoppers were pleased with their purchase, however, with another writing: “Lovely and lightweight under the eyes . Definitely makes me look less tired.” Another dubbed the concealer their ‘favourite’, commenting “I have tried hundreds of concealers over the years and this is by far my favourite.

“Medium coverage, which is good for natural every day and also buildable for more full coverage.” A third who titled their review ‘fab’ wrote “Love this concealer – easy to apply and lovely consistency.”

LED mask fans will be pleased to hear that Beauty Pie’s professional-grade C-Wave LED Treatment Mask is finally back in stock after selling out three times.

These high-tech beauty gadgets have been rising in popularity over the past few years, with major celebs like Victoria Beckham and Kate Hudson using them as part of their skincare routines.

And they’re not just a fad; they’re scientifically supported pieces of tech that can help reduce inflammation, stimulate collagen production, and combat fine lines by using light therapy to penetrate deep into your skin.

So why is the Beauty Pie mask so in demand? Well, it’s a clinically proven skincare device that tackles everything from fine lines to redness to dullness. Using the power of dual-wavelength tech, it boosts collagen, firms up skin, fades pigmentation, and gives you that fresh, even-toned glow.

The best part? It delivers pro-level results at a fraction of the price of luxury LED masks. If you’re a Beauty Pie member already, you can nab it for £120, and if you’re not a member, the mask is priced at £200.

This LED mask helps plump the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles(Image: Beauty Pie)

Beauty Pie shoppers have been raving about this LED mask for plumping the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and balancing out skin tone.

One happy reviewer wrote: “I am pleased to say I have seen results, lots of comments on how I am looking younger! Which at 61 I will take. I can see a softening of lines and wrinkles and look a little plumper. I use it every morning as soon as the first snooze button has been pressed. I recommend this LED Mask, but like anything you need to be consistent. Its a great price too.”

A second added: “I love this mask. I work within the Beauty industry and have seen lots of LED masks including medical grade ones. I have combination skin and want to prevent early aging. This mask is the best value for money and I really like how it fits directly to the face. It’s great that you can have the eye guards off or on. The adjustable strap is really helpful too.

I have been using this daily since March. The instant result I saw was my skin was smoother. After that it was more radiant.”

Shoppers have raved about this mask’s value for money (Image: Beauty Pie )

Not all were as impressed, however, with a few noting that the eye protectors sit awkwardly on the face. A shopper said: “Too early to tell tbh – I have high hopes. Negatives are that the eye protectors are very uncomfortable – I have tried wearing them back to front to give some eye protection with less discomfort. That seems to work ok.”

For alternative LED masks, our beauty team tested and reviewed a selection of the very best masks to shop in 2025. Among the list, the standout masks to try included the Shark CryoGlow LED Anti-Ageing and Blemish Repair Mask, priced at £299.99, and the BeautyPro Photon LED Light Therapy Facial Mask, priced at £195.

‘I’m a TV writer and found a way to get Netflix and Sky TV for 50p per day’

Stranger Things season five is slowly but surely edging closer and TV writer Jake Hackney has found a way to secure a Netflix and Sky TV subscription for 50p per day ahead of its launch.

Netflix fans can watch Stranger Things, Squid Game, Bridgerton and more with this method.

It’s been a big week for Netflix as the streamer finally dropped the first trailer for Stranger Things season five. On Wednesday, exactly nine years and one day after the sci-fi series first aired, Netflix gave fans their first-look at its final chapter.

The footage shows Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the gang returning for ‘one last adventure’, each united by a single goal: to find and kill Vecna. Season five is set to premiere in three parts, with volume one (episodes one to four) on November 27, followed by volume two (episodes five to seven) on Boxing Day, and the finale on New Year’s Day.

It feels like an age since season four, so I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s felt their interest waning in the interim. However, after seeing the new trailer this week I’m happy to say Netflix has well and truly pulled me back in.

It’s fair to say the hype around the new season is building, and it’s sure to keep going throughout the rest of the year. With that, many fans are likely scrambling for different ways to find a cheap Netflix subscription.

Earlier this year, the streamer raised its subscription fees yet again, with its entry-level Standard with Ads tier now costing £5.99 per month. However, as a TV and tech writer, it’s my job to find ways to watch all the latest series while keeping costs down, and I know how to get Netflix and Sky TV for 50p per day.

Get the deal here

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan.

This lets members watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish or aerial and includes hit shows like Stranger Things and The Last of Us.

The deal comes directly from Sky, which includes a free Netflix subscription with TV packages like the Essential TV bundle. For £15 per month, this provides free Netflix access, more than 100 channels including Sky Atlantic and a Discovery+ subscription. When breaking it down, this works out at 50p per day over a 30-day period.

The bundle comes on a 24-month term, meaning those signing up can secure a Netflix subscription for two years. It typically comes with Netflix Standard with Adverts, which usually costs £5.99 when joining direct, meaning members essentially pay £9.01 for 100 TV channels and Discovery+.

Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven in Stranger Things.
Millie Bobby Brown returns as Eleven for one final fight.

There is the option to upgrade to Netflix Standard or Premium for those who prefer ad-free viewing, priced at an extra £6 or £11 respectively. Sky also lets those with an existing subscription keep the same account, so they don’t pay twice.

Sky isn’t the only provider to tempt customers with free Netflix access, as Virgin Media also includes a free subscription with its own TV packages. However, although they include much more, they also come with a higher price tag.

The cheapest package that comes with Netflix is the £64.99 Biggest Combo bundle; usually priced at £78.99, this also comes with more than 200 TV channels, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and 516Mbps fibre broadband. However, one downside to both Sky and Virgin’s plans is that they both increase their prices every April in an inflation-linked rise.

Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers in Stranger Things.
Stranger Things fans can secure a 50p-per-day Netflix and Sky subscription ahead of season five.

This means the price paid is likely to go up twice in the next 24 months. Sky is yet to confirm how much its prices will go up in April 2026, but this year it introduced a 6.2% rise, so we may see something similar next year.

Virgin has already set out its planned changes, with the £64.99 plan rising to £68.49 from April 2026. Despite this, both Sky and Virgin customers can enjoy every season of Stranger Things, as well as Squid Game, Bridgerton and much, much more.

Hardwearing packing cubes that save so much suitcase space on holiday

As a travel editor, I’ve packed suitcases more times than I can count. I recently upgraded my packing cubes to this excellent ones, and they’ve made a huge difference to how I pack

Check-In Packing Cube Set
These were a game-changer(Image: Laura Mulley)

For savvy travellers, packing cubes are a must – they’re a neat and condensed way of organising your clothes, can be lifted out of the suitcase and popped straight into your hotel room wardrobe, and can save you precious case space (and even money too, on excess baggage fees).

As a travel editor, I’ve used packing cubes in the past – this popular £10 Amazon set – but, although a great price, I found these ones to be very flimsy, and the zips quickly broke on a number of them. However, ahead of a recently long weekend to Spain, I upgraded to these travel editor-approved Briggs & Riley ones – and they made such a big difference.

Briggs & Riley Packing Cube Sets
Available in three colours(Image: Briggs & Riley)

I’d already heard great things about the Briggs & Riley Packing Cube Sets following on from another trip I took recently with other travel editors; every one of them were either wheeling Briggs & Riley suitcases or had the packing cubes inside, and everyone praised how good they were.

When mine arrived, I could immediately tell they were far superior quality to the ones I’d previously used. Available in three colours, the zips are sturdy, the cubes all fit neatly into the largest one, and the expansion and compression design feature is genius; open it up wide, fill it up with your clothes, then zip it up smaller and tighter to maximise suitcase space.

They’re also made from antibacterial treated fabric for odour prevention, and have a useful handle on the size for quick and easy lifting out of cases; they almost look like mini suitcases themselves.

On this particular trip I used the Check-In Packing Cube Set, £99, as I was checking in a medium-sized suitcase, and they fit really well; they’d fit even better in a ‘full-size’ case. My partner, who was taking a cabin bag, used the Carry-On Packing Cube Set, £79, which were also very spacious; these would still be an excellent option if you wanted to spend a little less.

Briggs & Riley Packing Cube Sets
They made packing so easy(Image: Briggs & Riley)

Because the downside of these is that they’re certainly not the cheapest packing cubes on the market. However if you’re a regular traveller, I honestly think they’ll last you a lifetime, and seriously improve your holiday packing. I won’t be without them now.

If you’re after a slightly cheaper option but something that’s more robust that the bargain Amazon options, I’ve also heard great things about the Antler Set of 4 Packing Cubes, £50, available in eight stylish colours, while Next’s £16 Set of 3 Luggage Packing Cubes are a cute and colourful option.

‘I’ve wanted this Shark fan for a while and Prime Day sale price is very tempting’

With more hot weather on the horizon I’ve finally taken the plunge and bought this snazzy Shark fan that’s heavily discounted for Amazon Prime Day

The Shark FlexBreeze TableMate Cordless fan
The Shark FlexBreeze TableMate Cordless fan(Image: SHARK . GETTY)

I’ve had my eye on this Shark fan for a while. It’s become one of those products, you know the ones where you look at something once then it feels like it’s constantly popping up on your social media feed tempting you forevermore.

The Shark FlexBreeze TableMate has been on sale at £99.99 for a while, which has really caught my attention. But now even more has been shaved off the price as Amazon launches its Prime Day Deals, knocking another £10 off and leaving it at a super enticing £89.99 – 40% off the £149.99 RRP.

It’s such a good deal that I’ve finally bitten the bullet and ordered it. Amazon’s price is currently even cheaper than direct from Shark where the fan will set you back £99.99. It’s significantly more expensive at Currys where it’s priced at £149.99.

I’m one of those people who’s always too hot at the best of times. Where others are reaching for the thermostat I’m normally just right, and, as such, I love a good fan, especially over summer.

I already have two fans that I rate very highly. One is the Challenge White Pedestal and Desk Fan (£70 at Argos), that’s super impressive when you turn it up. So much so I’ve used it in some capacity almost every night since I’ve bought it.

Shark’s popular FlexBreeze fan has £60 off

The fan is a bit cheaper than some of the more premium options but still really packs a punch when you need cooling down. If you have a bit more budget to spend, I also have the Midea SmartAir Cool and Purify Bladeless Fan. Sold for £199.99 at both High Street TV and £199 at Amazon, (you can read the full review here).

It has all manner of fancy features and High Street TV says it’s a fan that “does it all” and it’s hard to disagree. But what those two don’t have is a battery function. I spend a lot of my spare time doing DIY or playing with my son (not at the same time!) as such, I’m often sweltering outdoors in the recent heatwave temperatures, but can’t be bothered going to the effort of setting up an extension lead and plugging in one of the fans.

Midea SmartAir Cool and Purify Bladeless Fan
Midea SmartAir Cool and Purify Bladeless Fan(Image: Sam Jones)

That’s where the Shark FlexBreeze TableMate is going to be excellent. Its portability means it can simply be unplugged and run off the battery, making it ideal for those looking for a cooling breeze on the go. Shark says the fan can run for up to 24 hours on the battery, though that’s on the lowest speed setting.

When ramped up the fan covers “up to 20 meters”, while it’s UV and rain resistant, making it suitable for use outdoors. Other features include five fan speeds, 180 degrees of side-to-side oscillation, and a 55° tilt to keep the air circulating at the desired angle.

Of the buyers who’ve delved in to date, the fan has averaged 4.5 stars out of 5. One of the delighted reviewers said: “This is by far the best fan I have ever had! We have a heatwave right now and I normally can’t sleep, but not this year! Slept all the way through and didn’t hear the fan yet I was cool all night. Only wish I’d found this sooner.”

Shark FlexBreeze TableMate Cordless Fan
The fan has a remote control for easy adjustment(Image: Amazon)

One of the few less positive reviews highlighted a potential issue: “When using this fan as a plug in it’s brilliant and I’m very happy with it in every way, but when using it on battery which is fully charged and on 2nd lowest setting the battery doesn’t last long.”

Despite this another buyer was very happy: “I did consider another leading brand but decided on Shark. This for me has been a really good choice. This fan is fairly expensive but the build quality is plain to see and it works really well.

“It is so versatile being able to run on mains and battery I can take it anywhere, it even has a remote control. I would recommend this fan to anyone even my friends.”

‘My go-to makeup brush cleaner gets rid of build up instantly and smells like summer holiday’

I’ve used this makeup artist-approved brush cleaner for years now, and it’s the only one I’ll trust to clean my makeup tools – it works instantly and smells like summer holidays

Isoclean makeup brush cleaner
The Isoclean makeup brush cleaner is the quickest and easiest way to get brushes clean(Image: Faith Richardson)

As any beauty lover knows, the right tools can make a huge difference to your makeup, which is why keeping them in good condition is essential. As well as helping your brushes to perform better, cleaning them is also key to keeping them hygienic and safe to use – a dirty brush can be a breeding ground for bacteria, cause breakouts and leave your skin looking oily or patchy. Not to mention layers of different foundations, blushers and bronzers can affect the colour of your products when you apply them.

Although I generally find cleaning my makeup brushes to be an arduous task that I can almost never be bothered to do, discovering Isoclean’s Paradise Scented Make Up Brush Cleaner has absolutely changed the game for me. It’s easy to use, takes barely any time at all, and smells amazing, and – dare I say it – I’ve actually started to enjoy cleaning them?

READ MORE: Serena Williams shares her dark circles hack to look wide awake ahead of Wimbledon

READ MORE: Holly Willoughby’s colour correcting primer is £10 cheaper than Stila’s cult favourite one

Unlike other cleaners which require copious bowls of water, cloths, and leaving them to drip dry for hours, the Isoclean spray top means I need nothing except the bottle and some paper towels. You can currently pick up a large 275ml bottle for £19.50, or a full size bottle and 275ml refill worth £35 for £31.15. In my experience the 275ml bottle lasts around four months with a weekly clean, although that obviously depends on how frequently you clean your brushes and how many brushes you clean.

To use it, you just need to spray the brushes with the cleaner, then rub them into some paper towels or tissues and the makeup comes straight off. Some more stubborn products (like full coverage foundation) might need a couple of goes, but generally I can have a brush fully cleaned in around 30 seconds.

Isoclean makeup brush cleaner
It took me less than five minutes to clean all my brushes(Image: Faith Richardson)

If you do prefer a more traditional solid soap style cleaner, Zoeva (who makes some of my favourite makeup brushes of all time, FYI) has the Brush Shampoo Bar for £12, which deep cleans and nourishes the bristles, helping prolong their life span. You could also try the CLOMANA BEAUTY Chocolate Orange Brush & Sponge Cleanser, which is currently on sale down from £16 to £10.40 at Sephora, and smells like chocolate orange.

However personally I love the spray formula that Isoclean has. It means they dry almost instantly, so you can clean as you go or give them a quick clean before swapping between two different coloured products without muddying the shades. The Isoclean Paradise Scented Make Up Brush Cleaner also kills off all bacteria, keeping them safe to use.

The only real downside to the Isoclean Paradise Scented Make Up Brush Cleaner is that it can be tricky to make sure the bristles at the middle of your brush are fully saturated, especially on denser brushes like foundation ones. However a few repeat goes makes sure you get everything out and clean.

I’ve also found in the past that most brush cleaners tend to have quite a strong, harsh alcohol smell which can be off putting. However the Paradise Scented version of Isoclean’s cleaner quite honestly smells like a summer holiday. It has notes of salted caramel, vanilla, almond and pistachio, and the scent lingers on your brushes so you can still smell it next time you use them. Anything that makes me keep my makeup brushes clean with minimal effort is a winner in my book!

‘I spent the weekend at a historic Suffolk estate and now I’ve fallen in love with the place’

I lost my heart to this beautiful part of the country and now I can’t wait to return

The Farmhouse in the Wilderness Reserve
The Farmhouse is tucked away in a stunning corner of the Suffolk countryside(Image: Laura McKenna)

Tucked away in the undulating hills of Suffolk, The Wilderness Reserve offers a quintessential English summer experience. I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend there and was utterly charmed by this tranquil corner of the county, bathed in the glow of a June heatwave sun.

The walled garden was a riot of colour as I watched a couple tie the knot, and while enjoying elderflower cocktails, I felt like I’d stepped into a Merchant Ivory film. But it wasn’t just the stunning venue that captivated me to be honest, the entire region truly stole my heart.

Suffolk, with its gently rolling hills, expansive skies, and patchwork of fields, meadows, and ancient woodlands, epitomises rural England. The 8,000-acre private estate near Saxmundham is just one of many highlights in the area, with attractions such as Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, RSPB Minsmere, and Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens all within easy reach.

Scattered with picturesque villages, timber-framed cottages, medieval churches, and quiet lanes, much of Suffolk is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Then there is the stunning Suffolk coastline with its mix of sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and pretty seaside towns. Southwold is known for its beautiful beaches, iconic lighthouse and Victorian pier, while Aldeburgh Aldeburgh offers a more artistic atmosphere with its historic high street and rich cultural heritage, including the famous Aldeburgh Festival.

Nearby, there lies the 12th-century Framlingham Castle, while the town of Woodbridge is home to the impressive Tide Mill and a charming blend of Georgian buildings and independent shops. While a visit to the Wilderness Reserve was a delicious treat, there are so many other ways to explore the region, along with a multitude of places to stay.

Take Winkle Cottage for instance – a fishermans cottage bathed in Aldeburgh’s seaside charm. This classic fisherman’s cottage offers snug living spaces and can comfortably accommodate five guests. It has been praised by visitors as “a great place to stay.”

The village of Campsea Ash also hosts an ideal spot for larger family reunions, offering a glorious barn conversion on a private estate. Quill Farm Barn is touted as a “delightful” holiday home, nestled away in “the perfect setting.” Then there’s the Sea Tower, a chic apartment boasting sea vistas that has earned accolades as “a special place” or the grand Holly Lodge – a robust five-bedroom countryside house capable of hosting group getaways for up to 10 individuals.

For something completely different, the Pound Farm Mirror Houses in Framlingham offer contemporary dwellings in the heart of the countryside. An upscale alternative to traditional ‘tiny homes’ each house comes with its own hot tub.

Booking.com boasts a diverse array of accommodation options in Suffolk. The Swan Hotel in Southwold, a four-star establishment nestled within a historic building just 200 metres from the seafront, is one such gem. For those seeking a more traditional vibe, The Ship at Dunwich serves up home-cooked fare and real ales in an authentic inn setting.

Adventure-seekers drawn to RSPB Minsmere will find Moonlight Lodge an ideal retreat close by. Available through Holidaycottages.co.uk, it’s set against the backdrop of Dunwich beach and surrounded by woodlands – a nature lover’s dream.

For a touch of grandeur, The Great House in Orford stands as a majestic Grade II-listed holiday home right in the village’s heart. This quintessential country haven sleeps 12 and has been hailed as “a stunning house” and “absolutely perfect for larger parties” by visitors.

The tranquil beauty of Suffolk has garnered thousands of glowing reviews on TripAdvisor from enamoured visitors. One tourist said: “Loved our afternoon in Southwold especially the pier! Such a pleasant surprise to have a clean characterful pier with a brilliant quirky water fuelled clock at the end! The beaches looked amazing, beautiful clean sand and so pretty with the huts behind!”.

Another visitor, charmed by Aldeburgh, shared: “It was a dream in July to swim in the early hours of the morning and have fish and chips looking out to sea.”

Of course, the accommodation is key to any memorable holiday, and Sykes Cottages are dazzling holidaymakers, boasting a 4.6 out of five-star rating. One chuffed guest remarked: “We wanted a quiet weekend getaway and we found exactly that in Suffolk. Perfect for young and old…the cottage we booked we know it’s a fabulous place and beautifully presented.”

Another satisfied customer shared: “Suffolk in the sunshine. This was an important family holiday following my dad being very unwell last year, our holiday with Sykes gave us the quality time we needed and the chance to make some wonderful memories.”

However, not all feedback was glowing. A less impressed guest posted a three-star review: “Sykes offer a vast range of holiday accommodation. From experience so far, the description and photos of accommodation are fairly accurate, however, the cleanliness of the accommodation is another matter. It is difficult to get hold of anyone from Sykes by telephone.”

But praise continued with another beaming five-star critique: “We were looking for pet friendly cottages in Suffolk, Sykes cottages came up with the goods. A nice cottage plenty of details about the cottage giving us all the details we needed. So many thanks looking forward to our holiday.”

Never miss your favourite TV series when on holiday with simple travel hack

Surfshark VPN lets Brits stream their favourite TV shows while travelling on holiday

Detail of a man watching Netflix on an Apple iPad Pro, taken on March 6, 2020.
This method lets Brits access major streaming platforms outside the UK just as they would at home

These days, many TV fans plan their lives around their favourite TV series, with the latest season premiere a major event in the diary. The biggest streamers like Netflix, Amazon’s Prime Video and Disney+ have already unveiled their stellar summer slates packed with new and returning shows.

June saw beloved series like Clarkson’s Farm, The Bear and Squid Game all back on screen, with more still to come including Dexter: Resurrection (Paramount+, July 11) and Alien: Earth (Disney+, August 13). But while everyone loves a summer holiday, jetting off to greener pastures often means having to wait to watch the latest episodes until one returns home.

This is because some content on streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ can only be accessed in the UK. But there is a way to access them from abroad with a VPN, which means Brits don’t have to miss out on the latest TV series when they jet off this summer.

Please be aware streaming platforms may take the view that the use of a VPN to watch content from another territory may be a breach of its terms of service and may constitute copyright infringement. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure the use of a VPN is legal and The Mirror does not encourage any illegal use of a VPN.

How to watch your favourite TV series while travelling

Brits heading abroad this summer can use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to unblock websites and services that usually only work in the UK. This allows users to access streaming platforms including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ from abroad as they would at home.

A VPN works by changing a device’s IP address – the unique identifier of a device connected to the internet – to any location around the world. There are many VPN providers on the market, with Surfshark a top choice that boasts the more than 3,200 Surfshark servers in 100 countries including the US, Australia, plus in Europe and Asia.

Surfshark has slashed up to 88% off its VPN plans, offering 27 months’ access for £1.49 per month.

Surfshark is compatible with devices running Windows, iOS, Android, macOS, Linux, and FireTV. The brand is currently offering its services for the discounted rate of £1.49 per month for its 24-month Surfshark Starter plan, which now comes with three extra months at the reduced rate.

This option costs a total of £40.23 over the 27-month term, a whopping 88% saving compared to the usual £331.83. With this, users get a secure VPN that lets them watch their favourite shows from outside the UK, with advert and cookie pop-up blockers, a constantly changing IP address and the ability to use Surfshark on unlimited devices simultaneously.

There’s also 24/7 customer support on live chat or email and a 30-day money back guarantee. However, Surfshark members on the Starter plan won’t receive antivirus protection, a feature included in the £1.89 Surfshark One plan.

This provides a range of security features, with 27 months of VPN, antivirus, alert, search, and alternative ID. It offers the same benefits as Surfshark Starter but with the added benefit of detecting and removing viruses and malware in real time, as well as preventing advertising companies and bots tracking online activity and sending alerts if an email address appears in breached online databases.

Surfshark has cut 88% off its VPN cost

Other VPN services include NordVPN, which rivals Surfshark with more than double the amount of servers. However, this comes at a cost as it’s also more expensive at £2.69 per month for the Basic plan.

ExpressVPN is another alternative and is said to be easier to use than other services but is also more expensive at £4.04 on its 24-month plan. The Daily Express compared Surfshark, NordVPN and ExpressVPN and found Surfshark to be ‘great value for money’.

It said: “Surfshark offers great value for money and that’s one of the big attractions. It’s actually owned by the people behind NordVPN, but this is their budget offering – not that the features are lacking.

“There are apps for a wide range of devices, but Surfshark doesn’t put a limit on the number of devices on the same contract, so you can sign-in across all your devices, making sure your whole family is protected.”

However, Chris also found a potential downside, adding: “Surfshark has fewer servers than some of its rivals and can sometimes be a little slower, but unless you’re moving huge amounts of data around, that’s unlikely to be a problem.”

Surfshark users have awarded the service an average 4.5-star rating on Trustpilot, with many impressed with its customer service. One said: “So nice to talk to a human when tech issues arise.”

Another said: “I’m really happy with how easy it is to use on the app and TV, and also for how reliable the service is.”

However, this mixed review said: “It has trouble connecting on my iPhone 12. Ok on iPad but seems to slow everything down.”

‘I joined DAZN to watch the Club World Cup for free but it’s the extras that won me over’

The FIFA Club World Cup kicked off on Saturday so our TV writer Jake Hackney registered for a free DAZN account to catch all the action, here’s what he made of the streamer.

A TV displaying the Club World Cup homepage on DAZN
DAZN is letting football fans watch every Club World Cup fixture for free

The FIFA Club World Cup kicked off over the weekend so I bagged myself a free DAZN account to see what all the fuss is about. Like many Brits, I’ve always associated DAZN with boxing, but as that’s never been my sport I’m yet to truly explore the platform.

DAZN is now the exclusive global broadcaster of all 63 fixtures in the Club World Cup and is airing every game for free, which is definitely more my bag. FIFA has really gone all out with this competition, revamping it with a new format featuring 32 of the best clubs from around the world.

There’s Manchester City and Chelsea representing the Premier League, plus the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Miami and Boca Juniors. The competition runs through to the final on July 13, and fans can register for a free DAZN account to watch every fixture.

READ MORE: Disney+ drops to £1.99 in rare deal Netflix and Amazon can’t beat

It certainly feels strange not watching football on the BBC or Sky Sports, but considering the quality of content and amount of extras on offer, I wouldn’t be surprised if DAZN becomes more synonymous with football in the coming years. I opted for the free account, but there’s also the option to upgrade to DAZN’s Premium plan from £9.99.

This includes every Club World Cup game in HDR picture quality and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, plus highlights, replays, fewer adverts and full access to the rest of the DAZN platform. But even with a free account, there’s plenty of football content to keep fans entertained in the lull between the Premier League and EFL seasons.

Watch the Club World Cup free on DAZN

Content Image

The FIFA Club World Cup will see 32 of the world’s best club teams including Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich play across 63 games from June 14-July 13.

Fans can watch every match live and for free by signing up to DAZN.

What struck me was how much there is to watch besides the live games, with countless features, shows and compilations right there on the Club World Cup homepage. There’s interviews with some of the big names taking part including Harry Kane and Pep Guardiola, as well as DAZN’s ‘Icons’ series, which takes a closer look at each team and the 12 USA host cities.

I’ve also been enjoying the plethora of documentaries centred around greats like Cristiano Ronaldo, Maradona and Brazilian Ronaldo. There’s a host of vintage footage featuring all the goals scored by certain teams at previous FIFA World Cups, starring legends like Alessandro Del Piero, Raúl and Didier Drogba.

Screengrab of DAZN platform
There’s loads of Club World Cup content from years gone by to keep football fans busy

In short, there’s plenty to tuck into. But it’s easy to follow the latest competition too, with every upcoming fixture displayed on the Club World Cup homepage complete with dates and kick-off times, as well as the option to display the group brackets and tables, making it easy to keep up to date with the current standings.

You can follow your favourite teams in the competition to receive a push notification before their games, so I followed Chelsea and Man City. DAZN now reminds me about each of their fixtures just in case I forget – though as some kick off in the early hours, I think I’ll wait for their DAZN highlights.

For those who don’t want to sign up for another subscription, DAZN has also sublicensed select fixtures to Channel 5, meaning 23 games will be broadcast on both DAZN and 5. This may be a good option for less tech-savvy football fans who are not bothered about every game.

Of course, there’s also a classic Sky Sports which can be purchased for £35 a month for a 24-month contract alongside essential Sky TV. This includes nine dedicated channels, including the Premier League, Football, Cricket, Golf, F1, Boxing, NFL, NBA, Netball and much more, though the length of contract may be a downside for some.

Screengrab of the DAZN platform
DAZN’s free account includes a host of interviews and documentaries

DAZN boasts some huge names in its Club World Cup punditry lineup, including none other than Brazilian legend Ronaldo. Other stars include John Obi Mikel and Sami Khedira, with Conor McNamara, Andros Townsend, Brad Friedel, Rob Green among the commentators, which makes a nice change from the usual voices on Sky or TNT Sports.

I’ve been using DAZN on both my Samsung smart TV and iPhone 13 and it’s performed largely ok. There have been times where it’s been slightly slow to respond and there’s been a bit of lag, but once a piece of content like a live game or documentary has loaded up I’ve experienced no major issues.

If you’re looking for a staycation idea, we’ve found a charming two-bedroom apartment near Whitby in North Yorkshire with loads of five star reviews and availability in summer

British breaks are always a popular type of holiday, and if you’re considering visiting the Yorkshire coast on your UK staycation this summer, we’ve found a beautiful two-person holiday apartment available to rent that comes highly recommended by previous guests.

Brambles Apartment, available to book via Sykes Cottages, is a cosy and comfy first-floor holiday rental in Sneatonthorpe near Ruswarp in the North York Moors National Park, around 10 minutes from the popular seaside town of Whitby. With light and airy ‘country chic’ decor, it features an open-plan kitchen and living space, a smart TV and a small shared garden, with one previous guest calling it “a great base for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area”.

In fact, Brambles Apartment only has five star reviews on the Sykes website, with visitors praising the hosts, the high standard of the property, and the “excellent views”:

First class apartment, clean, comfortable lovely views from the windows and in a peaceful location,” one of the reviews is titled. “A very enjoyable week, would definitely recommend Brambles apartment,” the writer adds.

“Lovely stay in a great and comfortable apartment with beautiful views,” another guest agrees.

So cosy, peaceful, clean and comfy, and a great base for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area,” a third review reads. “One of the nicest we’ve stayed in, and we would not hesitate to book again next time we visit! A definite recommend!”

The description on the Sykes website explains that Whitby Abbey, Whitby Harbour and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum are all within easy reach, as are Whitby Beach and Robin’s Hood Bay Beach, as well as the picturesque North York Moors National Park.

If you’re tempted, you’ll be happy to hear that Brambles Apartment still has lots of availability over the coming months, including during the school holidays. According to the Sykes website, a seven-night stay from 18-25 July costs from £677 (down from £981), while a long weekend in August, from 15-18, also costs from £677, down from £1,114).

It’s worth noting that Brambles Apartment doesn’t accept pets, so if you’re looking for somewhere to stay with a dog, you might want to check out other nearby Sykes Cottages properties such as Lythe Cottage or Jet Cottage.

Holiday Cottages is another site to browse for inspiration, which features charming Whitby properties including Sandy Shores, Lavender House and Dean Cottage.

Whitby Lighthouse

And if you fancy something a little different, how about staying in Whitby Lighthouse? Guests can book one of two rental properties in the lighthouse – Galatea and Vanguard – through Rural Retreats.

Alternatively if, like Coleen Rooney and her family, you enjoy a caravan holiday, Parkdean has resorts across the UK, including Carmarthen, Lincolnshire and Northumberland.
