MATALAN shoppers can snap up a ‘luxury’-looking bedding set for just 50p in a limited-time deal.

The White Butterfly Duvet Cover, normally priced at £21, is available for less than £1 when new customers sign up to Top Cashback.

The deal is available online across the UK and applies to the double size set, which includes the duvet cover and matching pillowcases, both featuring a delicate embossed butterfly pattern.

New Top Cashback members can get the set for just 50p after claiming a £2 cashback bonus, while existing members can still enjoy a hefty saving, picking it up for £15.50 with the same bonus.

Offers are also available on the single and king sizes.

The single size, usually £16, is completely free after cashback for new members, or £11.33 for existing ones.

Over at Dunelm, shoppers can find up to 50 per cent off selected duvet sets in a seasonal sale.

One popular waffle set now ranges from £25.60 to £41.60, down from £32 to £52, and comes in a choice of colours including sage green, black, grey, blue and white.

Meanwhile, Dusk is offering up to 25 per cent off bedding, including the 200 thread count Portofino Waffle Duvet Cover, reduced to between £27.50 and £49.50.

Matching pillowcases, usually £22, are now £11 for a pair.

Back at Matalan, more glowing reviews have poured in for the White Butterfly set.

One buyer said: “Beautiful butterfly design, excellent quality and great value. Looks like luxury item.”

Another added: “Looks good, feels good, just adds a bit of luxury.” A third commented: “Just gorgeous. Embossed butterflies on it.

“Feels nice too, very comfy feeling…..love it.”

A fifth review simply read: “Excellent value for money.”

However, potential buyers should note a couple of small drawbacks.

The set is machine washable, but there’s no mention of whether it’s suitable for tumble drying—something to consider for busy households.

And with the fabric’s raised design, pet owners may need to be cautious as claws could potentially snag the material.

For those looking to refresh their home on a budget, Dunelm is also offering significant discounts on various homeware items.

Shoppers can find up to 75 per cent off in their clearance sale, including items like curtains, bedding, and rugs .

Additionally, Dunelm’s outlet stores across the UK offer up to 75 per cent off stylish home items, including boucle chairs, sofas, cabinets, and lighting.

In the kitchenware department, Dunelm has launched a promotional offer, cutting the price of a 12-piece dinner set from £25 to just £12.50.

This floral-designed set includes four dinner plates, four side plates, and four bowls, and is both dishwasher and microwave safe.

Thankfully shoppers have been raving about spotting George at Asda currently has a bumper sale on with numerous items down to just £1.50.

One mum took to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and showed how she filled her basket on the George app with discount clothes.

She wrote: “Lots of clothes reduced on the George app.”

Including in her shopping haul were some gamer-themed boys pjs for £1.50, which were for aged seven to eight.

The woman also bought a five-pack of cotton socks for £2 and some Pokemon-themed socks for £2.50.

Other shoppers commented saying they had also stocked up for their kids’ summer wardrobes.

One mum got a £1.50 girls T-shirt, a two-pack of long-sleeve tops for £3 and some £4 swim shorts.

She also got a £2 tennis-themed pink sweatshirt, and a £2 mint green sweatshirt which said ‘Happy Moments.’

Meanwhile, a third Asda fan wrote: “Just got grandkids some bits too.”

One bargain hunter also pointed out that you can save on delivery by getting it sent to an Asda store, which waivers the usual £4 shipping fee.

George store launch

We recently shared how Asda has launched its first-ever stand-alone George store, and it could be rolled out across the UK if it’s a hit.

The debut site opened on Saturday, May 10 in Leeds, taking over the old Asda Living at Crown Point Retail Park.

The slick new store is packed with head-turning fashion, stylish homeware, must-have toys and baby bits – plus a fresh café to fuel your spree.

There are 30 Asda Living stores across the UK, and bosses will decide later this year whether to roll out more George stores after another trial run.

FESTIVAL fans are being urged to go green on Glasgow Green this summer with more sustainable fashion choices.

Every year Brits throw away 300,000 tonnes of fabric waste, which ends up slowly decomposing in landfills.

And to do their bit, the team behind TRNSMT is encouraging festival-goers to choose second hand style when it comes to their outfits.

Bosses are launching a Sustainable Festival Fashion Trail, which kicks off this weekend.

Tomorrow, TRNSMT will take over the Barras Market, Off The Rails at VEGA Glasgow and will pop up at vintage stores where shoppers can explore unique finds and festival picks curated by Scottish Stylist of the Year Victoria Lee.

The Glasgow-based preloved fashion fan said: “It is my job to encourage people to step away from fast fashion and choose more sustainable routes when it comes to topping up their wardrobes.”

Getting a look right for a festival can be tricky, especially in our unpredictable Scottish weather.

But what Victoria hopes is that music-lovers will avoid buying fast fashion items that get tossed aside once the party weekend is over in favour of vintage pieces that will last a lifetime.

Victoria, who ditched her own fast fashion business when she discovered the unethical roots of her on-sale items, said: “I love the uniqueness of it.

“When you’re shopping, you can have those unique pieces that other people aren’t wearing.

“You can really focus on your personal style. I think when you’re more slow and more intentional about what you buy, it pays off more in the end as well.”

While the average lifespan of an item of clothing is three years, many people who consume fast fashion find their clothing only lasts a few months.

But some of the preloved pieces in second hand and vintage stores have been worn for decades — and are still going strong.

Victoria said: “I think a lot of people panic buy for festivals and also we’ve become a little bit too accustomed to viewing our clothes as disposable.

“So the fashion trail encourages people to buy more staple pieces. The pieces in the collections will all be pieces that you can hopefully style around other things. Normal life, not just festivals.”

SUSTAINABLE STYLE

WE are self-confessed clothes addicts.

But, despite our love for all things fashion, choosing a fest outfit still foxes us — especially with our different ages and sizes.

In our YouTube series For Everybody, we test out outfits from the high street to see who is winning when it comes to being inclusive.

Katy is 34 and a size 18 while I’m a tummy-conscious size ten 45-year-old.
So could Victoria choose gorgeous, preloved festival outfits that rocked both of our worlds?

She scoured the rails at Glasgow’s West Vintage for two looks that could go from day to night at TRNSMT.

And she played a blinder.

For Katy, Victoria chose a flowy, brightly-coloured, tie-dyed maxi skirt paired with an over-sized sports T-shirt, all for just over £40.

For me, she chose a classic denim waistcoat and a layered white mini, with a handbag scarf for a pop of colour all for £50.

These pieces can be worn for years to come, making cost per wear a snip — music to our ears.

And her top tip for what to wear this summer? The style pro said: “I’d say the most fashionable thing you can do is just go with your own personal style and express yourself and who you are. Get those pieces that are staples that you’ll be able to wear again and again.”

On Sunday, the day will kick off at the Barras Market in Glasgow’s East End, where from 12pm fans can browse curated rails of pre-loved fashion, discover upcycled gems and get styling tips from sustainability champions.

From there, fans can head to Kings Court, stopping at vintage favourites including Mr Bens Retro Clothing, Minted and West Vintage for even more unique finds picked out by Victoria.

The day wraps up at VEGA Glasgow with a special festival edition of Off The Rails, a quarterly pop-up that celebrates independent brands.

There will be live performances by artists from this year’s BBC Introducing line-up and Radio 1 Dance Stage DJs at both The Barras and VEGA, bringing the festival buzz to the city.

There will also be the chance to win festival tickets to this summer’s Glasgow Green music extravaganza on July 11 to 13, with ten golden labels hidden along the trail as a reward for those who choose pre-loved summer festival outfits.

A TRNSMT Festival spokesman said: “Planning a festival outfit is a priority for so many fans. We wanted to create something that shows how sustainable fashion can still be exciting, creative, and fun, especially in a city like Glasgow that’s full of legendary vintage and second-hand options.”

A SAVVY chocolate lover has revealed a hack to get a Hotel Chocolate gift reduced to just 95p, with shoppers claiming they’re “already on it”.

Joseph Stutter took to Facebook to share his bargain trick, which impressed many sweet treat fans.

In the post, he shared a photo of a box of chocolates from the popular Hotel Chocolat brand, writing: “If you sign up to the Hotel Chocolat VIP scheme online, you get a £5 voucher near your birthday.

“There’s a £5.50 minimum spend, but the Everything Mini Selection is £5.95 — so these only cost me 95p.”

The Facebook post quickly racked up hundreds of likes and comments from shoppers keen to grab the discounted treat.

B&M is behind the deal, with the Toblerone Tiny Bags (280g) spotted on sale at a branch in Bordon, Hampshire.

One eagle-eyed shopper posted the bargain to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group and said it was in B&M Bordon, Hampshire.

The post quickly caused a stir on social media, with shoppers eager to grab the deal.

One replied: “What a bargain!”

Another, tagging a sibling, wrote: “Dad would be wanting them.”

A third added: “Oh that’s good. My sister lives there lol.”

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.

But where do we turn when saving up the five figures needed for an opulent watch is impossible? As it goes, Primark. 

The fast fashion giant has released a Rolex dupe for a mere £10. 

The affordable design is a copycat of the luxury brand’s Lady-Datejust in oyster steel and yellow gold – which costs a staggering £17,300 to buy direct. 

“Gold is coveted for its lustre and nobility,” a Rolex blurb reads. “Steel reinforces strength and reliability. 

“Together, they harmoniously combine the best of their properties.”

Money-saving content creator Aimee Michelle unearthed the imitation watch in her local Primark and took to Instagram to alert fellow fashionistas. 

“The comparison is uncanny,” she said. 

“Everything down to the fluted bezzle, the stainless steel with the gold and even the ‘mother of pearl’ face.

“It’s the only one they have currently in store… but this is big news.”

The Primark watch’s official name is The Edit Metal Watch, and it is made from 80% steel and 20% zinc. 

“Add a touch of luxury to your accessories edit with this timelessly sophisticated metal watch,” high street bosses said. 

The timepiece has a classic and timeless design that will be relevant and stylish throughout every season, meaning you’ll get way over your £10’s worth of wear. 

Like the Lady-Datejust, it is smaller and more delicate compared to many other watches.

As such, it’s ideal for women who prefer a more understated and elegant size without compromising on style. 

SHOPPERS are hot footing it down to B&M to buy pretty and on-trend garden plants scanning for just £10 at the checkout.

The bargain shop is selling the social media garden must-have just in time for summer.

People couldn’t believe their eyes after a fellow Flamingo Tree fan let everyone know in a Facebook group, Bargain Lovers, they were being sold for the cheapest price yet.

Delighted users started commenting and tagging their friends in.

One person wrote: “That’s a great price they are lovely shrubs so pretty.”

Meanwhile, another added: “Love these, £10, right bargain.”

Another let her friend know about the deal and simply said “quick”.

The pink Salix Flamingo Trees, known for their brightly-coloured foliage, are just £10.

They are also selling small hedge plants which were being sold for £4 last year.

They’re the cheapest on the market right now, with B&Q selling its 17cm trees for a pricier £24.99.

If you can’t find the Flamingo Tree in B&M, The Range is also selling them for £15.

Wilko‘s deal on the plant, like B&Q, is also more expensive than The Range, charging £17 for a 40cm tree.

On eBay you would have to pay £9.95 for a mini plant – an amount which could almost get you three when shopping at B&M.

It comes as a reminder to always compare prices before buying a product, which you can do through websites like Trolley.

The flamingo plants are currently unavailable to view online – meaning you’ll have to visit your local store to see if they stock it.

It’s important to bear in mind that prices may vary between locations.

If you want to find your nearest B&M store, you can use the Store Finder tool on its website.

They have 280 outdoor plants and trees to browse online, such as a rose bush for £23.99.

You can also buy a Malus Golden Delicious apple tree for £44.99, or lemon trees for £25.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for indoor plants for your home, you could save money in the long run by knowing what to buy.

Ways to save money at B&M

One of the best ways to save money at B&M is by using the retailer’s Scanner App.

It is free to download onto your smartphone via the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Once downloaded, you can use the camera on your phone to scan product barcodes around stores.

The app then tells you the true price of that product, which is sometimes much lower than the price tag says it is.

One shopper used the app to get a £10 long hot water bottle for just 10p, while other customers have found a host of other 10p bargains.

Another quick way to cut costs is by visiting at the right time.

One ex-manager told The Sun this is around 10am on a Wednesday, when staff slash the price of items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.

Deals expert Tom Church said to keep an eye out for red sticker products as well.

It’s worth signing up to Facebook pages dedicated to hunting for bargains from B&M and other discounters too.

Two worth joining are B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More and Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.

Sellhousefast.uk carried out a study and consulted 36 estate agents, garden designers and property professionals from across the UK.

And the experts revealed the garden feature which adds the most value to a property is a shed.

“Save your money, don’t bother!!!”

Still, plenty of shoppers reckon they’re a steal – especially compared to similar options:

How can I save money when shopping at Lidl?

Lidl reduces items at the start of the day, and the best deals can be found between 7am and 8am, when most stores open.

Shoppers can often find cooked meats, salmon fillets and breads reduced by 30% or more.

Not only does Lidl have its own range of reasonably priced alcohol, it also has its own knock-offs of branded favourites – so say cheers to its bargain booze.

Everyone knows about the “Middle of Lidl” – it’s here where you’ll find a load of random stuff you didn’t realise you needed, at decent prices.

But if you are hoping to avoid spending more than you planned, you can check what will be in the “Middle of Lidl” on the supermarket’s website in advance.
