Watch moment fuming fans BOO iconic music stars as concert is abruptly ended less than an hour into the show

THIS was the moment thousands of disappointed music fans were left drastically booing after an iconic music act’s gig was cut short.

Fans who had descended on Milton Keynes to see The Fugees perform were left stunned when the concert was pulled after less than an hour.

Sounds of boos echoed around the Milton Keynes National Bowl from disgruntled fans who were left saddended that the performance by Lauryn Hill and co. had been sensationally axed.

The venue was forced to end the concert early due to licensing restrictions which prevented it from continuing on past 11pm.

Lauryn Hill, 51, and Wyclef Jean, 56, took to the stage shortly after 10pm, following an introduction from comedian Dave Chappelle – leaving little time for them to complete their full performance.

Fans were left bitterly disappointed when the pair were unable to perform some of the group’s biggest hits, including their 1996 multi-platinum smash Killing Me Softly With His Song as a result of the venue curfew.

The pair, who first reunited in London ahead of the music and arts festival, attempted to address the crowd but their microphones were switched off.

Moments later, the giant on-stage screens also went black at the 65,000-capacity venue.

Fan-shot footage showed the pair complain to the crew on stage, with Lauryn pleading to finish the set as boos rang out across the crowd.

Lauryn did remain on the stage, according to eyewitnesses, thanking fans as they broke into an impromptu a cappella rendition of her hit, Ready Or Not.

Speaking following the abrupt end to the show, Wyclef Jean told us: “We’re really sad how it ended.

“We was just getting started, so we’re hoping to continue next year.”

He added: “We had so much surprises on the line up and everybody showed up and we really felt the crowd, that love and that energy, it’s something that they need, something they feel, it just reminds you of unity.

“With so much division, the diaspora calling is just to remind everybody to come together.”

Prior to the disruption, Lauryn performed a packed set featuring tracks from her landmark 1998 debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, including Doo Wop (That Thing) and Ex-Factor.

She was also joined on stage by her sons, including Zion Marley and YG Marley — but some fans were left criticising the additional performances for eating into the Fugees’ already limited set time.

However, his team took to his Instagram stories and told his fans that he wouldn’t be performing and instead, the gig would be postponed for next year.

The post read: “Important information about tonight’s show.

“Due to a mechanical fault with the aircraft’s landing gear, Rod Stewart is regretfully unable to travel to Niagara Falls and must postpone tonight’s performance at Fallsview Casino Resort.

“Rod is deeply disappointed and apologises to fans for the inconvenience.

Rod Stewart, 81, breaks silence after stopping show for oxygen & cancelled gigs

“He looks forward to returning for the rescheduled performance on Thursday, March 4, 2027 where he promises to make it up to his fans.

“Purchased tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date. Existing complimentary reservations will be cancelled,” they signed off.

The venue shared the same post on their own Instagram feed as fans flocked to the comments section to share their frustrations.

One fan wrote: “We’ve been looking forward to this for so long.”

Another bemoaned: “Why couldn’t the concert be pushed back a few hours or even moved to tomorrow? Moving it to next year is crazy, he’s obviously landing eventually..”

While a third added: “It seems he’s cancelled the last couple of shows.”

Back in June, Rod cancelled his California show for his One Last Time tour at the last minute, citing that he was too unwell to perform.

However, just hours later he told his fans he was heading to Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts to see Scotland take on Haiti in the World Cup.

The rock and roll star said on Instagram: “Here we are flying off to Boston to see Scotland in the World Cup.

“It’s been 28 years so these kids I’ve told them about it they’ve never been.

“I’ve been to seven world cups, I’ve been to Argentina, Germany, France, Italy, Mexico, loads of them, this is the seventh.

“We want them to get through to the next round and ill die a happy man, so that’d be great. Come on Scotland!!!”

He was spotted enjoying all of the perks of the VIP box with his two sons.

The performer even had two drinks sitting in front of him, which he sipped on while he enjoyed the match.

However, fans were unhappy that the star was “too unwell to perform” yet he still went to the World Cup match.

Commenting on Rod’s video, one follower wrote: “So you blew off all the people in San Diego that wanted to see you in concert but were able to go to the World Cup, I see! I’m a huge fan of yours but I don’t think that’s cool.”

Another fan added: “What is difficult to accept is the lack of sensitivity toward those of us who made a significant effort to attend his concert and then it was cancelled.”

While a third fumed: “I understand that shows sometimes have to be cancelled, and if there was a legitimate reason, most fans would have accepted it.

“What’s hard to accept is seeing you apparently celebrating on a plane with friends less than 24 hours after thousands of people were sent home disappointed in San Diego.”

Shania Twain recalls being ‘kicked around’ by her parents as she shares harrowing details of abusive childhood

SHANIA Twain has recalled being “kicked around” by her parents as she shared harrowing details of her abusive childhood.

Thanks to her catchy songs, the legendary singer has paved the way to huge female stars, including Taylor Swift  but behind the glittery cowboy boots lies a tragic past with childhood poverty and abuse.

The star, 60, explained her parents loved each other but they fought a lot, and they got violent often.

She said she witnessed brutal fights between her mother, Sharon, and stepfather, Jerry Twain, and that their violence often included her and her sisters, Jill and Carrie Ann, who were “smacked” and “kicked around a lot.”

Shania said on NPR’s Wild Card with Rachel Martin podcast: “If I was standing in the wrong place at the wrong time, definitely. I mean, both my parents were pretty harsh physically.”

She added: “‘It was very violent. So my mom, you know, she would lose clumps of hair.

“She was bruised often in the face and… it was pretty bad sometimes.

“I mean, our house would shake. Those walls would shake.

“It’s very traumatic. It gets loud and scary, like a really bad thunderstorm.”

It’s not the first time Shania has spoken about the violence within her childhood.

Shania was born in Ontario, Canada, in 1965, one of three girls to parents Sharon and Clarence Edwards.

However her parents divorced when Shania was two and her mother’s second husband, Jerry Twain, adopted the sisters.

Their home life was wrecked by poverty, with Shania and her sisters often going to school hungry.

So when Sharon spotted her daughter had a talent for music, she knew she had found a way to make money to help the family.

“Really, my mother was the one that made me get on stage,” Shania recently told The Independent. “I did not want to be in the spotlight. I was petrified of it.”

From just eight, Shania would be woken up to perform in bars after midnight.

“I would go to do the after-hours set and everyone was already intoxicated,” the five-time Grammy winner revealed.

“It was not fun,” Shania continued of those early shows. “I had school the next day, and my parents would often fight.”

Shania quickly learned that if she came back home with no money from her gigs it meant trouble.

“If I didn’t earn anything from it, it was going to be a domestic problem,” Shania explained.

“We were living hand to mouth.”

Tragically, Jerry wasn’t just violent towards wife Sharon, once beating her unconscious.

Shania recalled how her cruel stepfather would also make her walk around the house topless and touch her inappropriately.

“He just had issues… It was like he was two people,” she told 60 Minutes

“I would get physically involved sometimes with my parents’ fights… I just thought that he would kill her. One of these times – he was gonna kill her.”

“I hid myself and I would flatten my boobs,” she told The Sunday Times in an emotional interview.

“I would wear bras that were too small for me, and I’d wear two, play it down until there was nothing girl about me. Make it easier to go unnoticed.”

“It was terrible – you didn’t want to be a girl in my house.”

Aged 22, Shania was about to get her big break when her parents were both tragically killed in a car crash.

She had to return home to care for her younger siblings and Shania became ”a single mum overnight,” she recalled.

She added: “It was a very touch and go period in my life.

“It was a lot of pressure. I barely slept.”

But despite the setbacks, Shania didn’t give up on her dream.

Once her sisters were old enough, she compiled a demo tape to present to Nashville music execs and within a few months they had snatched her up.

It was the first step to Shania finally becoming the international country pop superstar the world knows today.

The girl group, featuring Nicole Scherzinger, 48, Ashley Roberts, 44, and Kimberly Wyatt, 44, are due to launch their comeback later this year.

There are eight scheduled tour dates set up and down the UK for fans to enjoy but it has now been revealed that the price for four of them have been discounted.

The sale is a part of a promotion for the AXS 2026 Summer Sale, and includes shows in Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle and London.

The sale will run till July 15, giving fans time to grab the discounted tickets but having slashed ticket prices before it remains unclear whether this will boost sales.

Beyonce shocks fans with new music release on July 4 after two-year break

For their tour across the pond, the girls struggled to sell tickets despite cutting prices to $30, and several dates still had as much as 80 percent of the seats available.

They had planned 33 dates across the US and Canada, starting in Palm Desert, California, on June 5.

Rehearsals were delayed and had not formally started before the plug was pulled.

They then went on to announce the news in a group statement, they said: “When we announced the PCD Forever Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world.

“After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.”

But speaking about the Europe and UK leg, they added: “We are putting everything into making this show a true celebration of the music and the memories.”

The European leg of the PCD Forever tour is due to begin in Copenhagen on September 9.

And Insiders have insisted their ticket sales have been far better in Europe than in North America, with shows in Warsaw and Paris already sold out.

The cancellation was another setback for the girl group, who also cancelled their last reunion tour.

They announced in 2019 that they were launching a comeback as a five-piece along with former members Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta, with shows across the UK, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and New Zealand.

However, it was delayed due to Covid and was eventually axed due to a disagreement between frontwoman Nicole and the band’s founder Robin Antin, on which they reached a confidential settlement last September following a lawsuit.

The Dolls, who had eight Top Ten hits including No1s Don’t Cha and Stickwitu between 2005 and 2009, announced their return as a trio in March when they dropped their new single Club Song.

The album in its entirety is only 45 minutes, which has led some to question if the £86 ticket fee is value for money.

Complaining about the show, one X user said: “Lily Allen at the O2. No support act. Arrived on stage at 9:10pm. All wrapped up by 10pm. Not one word to the audience.”

Addressing the backlash over the length of the gigs, Lily responded to the comment directly with a statement.

It reads: “There is a support act.

“The show has always been advertised as “Lily Allen performs West End Girl.”

“I was a few mins late as my tights were laddered and i had to change them.

“The show is just over an hour as it’s just the album in its entirety. It’s my artistic choice not to talk to the audience, the fourth wall helps with the storytelling.

“Most people find it to be effective. I don’t want anyone to feel ripped off,

“Everyone on this tour is really working very hard to give people the best show we possibly can, and i’m extremely proud of it.”

Fans responding to the post praised Lily for speaking up and supporting her artistic vision with the shorter album.

One user said: “I was there last night and it was incredible, you are incredible!”

A second shared: “You tell them, the girls that get it get it.”

A third added: “The concept of buying tickets to a show called “Lily Allen Performs West End Girl” and being mad that you didn’t hear Not Fair [another track of hers], like let’s use our brains for a moment.”

West End Girl is Lily’s fifth studio album to date.
