JESY Nelson has described the terrifying moment her mum raised the alarm about her twins’ SMA struggle.

The pop star secretly moved to Cornwall after giving birth to the two little girls following a high-risk pregnancy.

She says her mum Janice noticed Ocean and Story’s lack of leg movement on a trip to visit them.

Speaking on Jamie Laing’s podcast Great Company with Jesy Nelson, the former Little Mix star said:  “Me and Zion decided we wanted to move to Cornwall because our babies had been through all this trauma, and we just wanted them to grow up in a peaceful setting and just be around the sea and live like a kid.

“I honestly was not even taking notice of their legs because they’re my first set of children, so I don’t know how they should be moving their legs, or what they should and shouldn’t be doing anyway.

“Because we had just moved six hours away, my mum wasn’t with me every day.

“I think she noticed how much it had deteriorated, and she said, ‘Jesy, they don’t move their legs very much. Have you noticed that?’

“She kept comparing them to my nephew, but I said George was a full time baby and because the twins were premature you can’t compare them.

“She said, ‘I know Jesy, but something’s not right’.

“My mum is such a such a worrier. She worries about everything – a bit like me, she thinks the worst in every situation.

“And so I just thought that was her over-worrying then a week went by, and I remember changing their nappy and just thinking ‘oh, god, they actually don’t move their legs at all’.

“For some reason they just stopped.”

Fearing her mum was right, Jesy booked to see a paediatrician straight away.

After being told the babies needed blood tests and a brain scan, Jesy left the doctors in tears.

She was later told the identical twins have Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 — the most severe form of a rare disease affecting muscle strength and movement.

Jesy is now working tirelessly to raise awareness of SMA and campaigning for the condition to be added to the NHS newborn heel-prick test, which currently screens for ten other conditions.

She spoke to The Sun about the diagnosis and her new new six-part docuseries on Prime Video, which follows her journey into motherhood as she reflects back on her time in Little Mix.

It’s the first time she’s opened up about quitting the band in 2020.

Alana Percival is self-proclaimed businessman Lee’s ex, whom he proposed to in exactly the same way as he did former glamour model Katie before they sensationally got wed in a whirlwind ceremony.

Fitness enthusiast Alana has been speaking out about her experience with Lee, with her now seemingly sharing a vile email he sent her ‘wishing her dead’.

Alana, 32, took to Instagram to share the correspondence she allegedly received from Lee.

In an Instagram post, Alana said: “Also anyone who knows me will know that I went through a really tough time with someone that was not only my partner but also my best friend that sadly took his own life when we were younger.

“This impacted me so massively I was in hospital for a whole of my life and had a huge impact on my mental state and health and still does,” she explained.

Alana continued: “This is something I told Lee Andrews out of confidence about what I had been through and he sent me this email, along with many more, wishing me dead.”

In the screen grab of the email, Lee allegedly said: “Now go join Carl in the fucking ground where you both belong!”

Also on her Instagram page, Alana shared another slew of accusations.

She said: “It makes me so sad when I look at this all now and I realise how much Lee put me through and how many people I cut off and ignored when I should have listened!!”

Alana then proceeded to share an extensive list of “things I felt throughout” her relationship with Lee.

The list was long and included “financial abuse” as well as “controlling behaviour” and “constant lies to maintain dominance”.

Speaking to The Sun last week in an exclusive interview, Alana issued a stark warning to Lee’s new wife Katie.

Alana said: “Katie should run for the hills. Lee is a liar, a narcissist and I think he’s a manipulator. 

“Once I tried to leave him, he told me had a heart condition and was living on borrowed time. 

“Lee doesn’t know what’s fact and what’s fiction. 

“It’s worrying because I think he believes his own lies.” 

Also in the exclusive chat, Alana said Lee showered her with gifts, and she recognises the significance of Katie and Andrews’ matching 11:11 handtattoos.

She said: “I’ve never had someone basically tell me that they love me the way he does. 

“That 11:11 thing with Katie, that was our thing. He’d ring me at 11:11, he even bought a horse I called 11:11. He puts 100 per cent effort into you. He bought me Cartier bangles, Cartier rings, and clothes.

“He sent a Louis Vuitton handbag to my office. He would transfer me cash — £5,000, £2,000, it was a lot.”

Speaking about taking part in the empowering shoot, Emily said: “I’ve always loved Agent Provocateur as a brand, but had no idea there was such an incredible, creative team bringing it all to life.

“From our first lunch meeting to a brilliantly fun afternoon in Soho trying on lingerie to our shoot day at Camfield Place, I not only felt like I was part of that team but also felt entirely happy about trusting the process.

“From start to finish this has been one of the most special projects I’ve worked on, and one I feel truly empowered by.”

Emily began playing the role of Sarah Stratton in Rivals in 2024.

He said: “Oh guys, I’ve never really been one to explain myself but there’s a lot of fake news going around so I better say something. 

“I’m going to share on the next story, after this one, that there is no travel ban, directly from the police UAE application. 

“It’s my profile. You can check those statuses, you can check any fines you’ve got, relating to traffic, and also if you’re allowed to travel.

The Netflix star’s tribute to her dad comes after he gave a major health update following health woes in recent years.

He revealed that he now has a 24-hour live-in nurse after five knee surgeries and his kidneys also “packing up”.

During a conversation with Zoe Ball for Eras – In Conversation for BBC Two, the hitmaker divulged: “Yeah, it’s an ongoing thing. You know I have a 24-hour live-in nurse to make sure I take my medication as I should do. 

“I’ve had challenges with my knee, I had everything that could go wrong with me, did go wrong with me.

“I got COVID in hospital – my kidneys started to back up, you know, everything that started that could, all seemed to converge at the same time.

“I had five operations on my knee now – I’ve got a knee that works and I can walk, albeit with assistance, you know, crutches or whatever.”

But despite his ongoing health issues, the musician is keeping optimistic about the future.

He told the presenter: “The things that are ahead for me would be, apart from just being back to being totally mobile and healthy, is go in there and have a fiddle about and see if there’s more music ’cause you know, you tend to sort of feel, that’s it, I’ve done that.

“But you’ve gotta start doing it to see if you can do it. Otherwise you don’t do it. So that is something on my horizon.”

Phil’s music career started in 1970 when he became the drummer for Genesis.

While remaining with the band, he also had a solo career in the 1980s which included hits such as Against All Odds and Two Hearts.

Opening up about a flirtation with former The X Factor star James Arthur, she said: “When I got back, I was booked to do a BBC Three comedy panel show called Sweat the Small Stuff which was presented by Nick Grimshaw and had Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom as the team captains. 

“The episode I was on also happened to feature James Arthur who had won The X Factor in 2012 and you could say that we, erm, hit it off. 

“Egged on by Grimmy, me and James flirted pretty outrageously throughout the filming and swapped numbers afterwards with a loose arrangement to meet up for a drink in the not too distant future. 

“Nothing ever came of it apart from the exchange of some harmless WhatsApps, but once the episode aired a few days later, the press got hold of it and ran multiple stories saying we were dating.” 

The Celebs Go Dating star added: “Scott was livid about it and tried everything he could to get hold of me, ringing my mobile and calling my parents’ landline. 

“I didn’t want to speak to him. He’d been so horrible to me and I was trying to get over him, something I felt like I was making good progress with.”

The soap star split from her “toxic” relationship with her footballer ex in October 2022 after 13 years together and share three children – Matilda, Delilah and Charlie.

Following her split from footballer Scott, Helen enjoyed a “situationship” with boxer David Hayes.

While she first met David on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here back in 2012, things didn’t turn romantic until 11 years later – but they broke off their fling in December 2023.

She also revealed that she once batted off the attention of disgraced influencer Andrew Tate after matching with him on a dating app.

FORMER Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has spoken candidly about the ‘heartbreaking’ health challenges her twin daughters have faced.

The singer and campaigner has opened up about how her babies, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, were failed to be diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA Type 1) despite numerous consultations with healthcare professionals.

In an interview on Sky News’ The UK Tonight programme, the former girl band star admitted that the condition was only picked up on when they were six months old – by her mum.

Although health visitors and GPs performed regular checks, the early symptoms of the rare genetic disease – specifically a lack of leg movement – went unnoticed.

The 34-year-old teared up as she explained her campaign for the UK to include SMA screening in the routine newborn heel prick test.

Speaking to host Sarah-Jane Mee, she said: “People are starting to take notice and take it seriously, but it never should have took for me to come along for it to be taken seriously and that’s the part that makes me feel so angry.

“This isn’t just anything. This is a matter of life or death for someone’s child and who gets to decide that?

“Who has the right to decide whether my child is going to be in a wheelchair or not when we’ve literally had three life-changing treatments since 2018?

“The fact that it’s still a thing and we’re still having to scream and shout about it is just mad to me.”

She promised: “I will not stop on my socials talking about it. Trying to do as much TV… yes, it’s big but there’ll still be lots of other people that don’t know about this, so I’ve got to stay noisy.

Following a conversation with UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting, she admitted: “It is so difficult… it’s like, yes, I had that open and honest conversation with you and you said all the right things, but what are you going to do now?

“Now that I’m not in front of you, are you going to continue?”

She reflected on the missed opportunities during early check-ups and urged: “The fact that there were healthcare visitors around my house a lot and we took them to the GP and not one of them saw any of the signs.

“Thank God for my mum, because I dread to think what position I’d be in now if my mum hadn’t have said anything to me.

“It’s one of them things that I constantly go over and I have to sometimes stop myself from doing it because I will drive myself insane.”

Jesy added that the painful diagnosis has changed her outlook for her daughters’ future.

She said: “I don’t want people to think that if you’ve got disability that that defines you because it definitely doesn’t.

“But I’ll openly say if I could have it the other way, I definitely would. Why wouldn’t I want my children to walk and live a fulfilled life?

“I just pray that it does get changed and it does become part of the heel prick test, because the amount of heartbreak and hurt that I’ve had to endure, I’ll never be able to explain it.”

The Boyz hitmaker was previously diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

The high-risk pregnancy included a 10-week hospital stay and life-saving emergency surgery.

The Brit Award-winner has launched a petition to force the Government to enforce a non- invasive £4 blood test at birth.
