A HOMEOWNER has left people stunned after sharing a video of their disastrous attempt to get a garden shed in their new garden.
After moving in to their new house, they enlisted the help of two friends to try and get the shed over a gate frame and into the back garden.

But they could only watch in horror as the shed tipped and fell heavily into next door’s propertyCredit: tiktok/@rearaymondo
The three men decided on a daring attempt to lift the shed – holding it above their heads.
However, in scenes that were predicted by those watching the TikTok video in horror, the shed ended up going a bit too high.
And as it did so, it fell heavily over the fence and into next door’s garden, much to the horror of the men carrying it.
The trio realised in seconds what had happened, and tried to look through the fence to inspect the damage next door.

“Moving day carnage,” Rea captioned the video on her TikTok page.
The gate frame also took part of the brunt of the shed disaster, as a panel was seen slipping down as the structure crashed to the ground.
Commenting on the video, a woman called Leonie wrote: “My partner is the one who got out the car to help, I thought I recognised them!”
“That was never ending well,” another added in the comments section.
“The only 3 people that didn’t see that happening,” a third laughed.
“Great start with the neighbours,” someone else sighed.
I grew up on a council estate so wasn’t prepared for a ‘posh’ house – our neighbours were worse & we had to move AGAIN
“The 2 at the front is at fault, him at the back was doing it properly!” another insisted.
“What the hell? This was hard to watch,” someone else said.
While others imagined what the conversation would be between the homeowners and their new neighbours.
“Can you imagine saying my shed fell in your garden?” one gasped.
“Excuse me Mister, can we have our shed back please?” another joked.
“Knocks on door, ‘hey Mr. I accidentally threw my shed in your yard. Can I go back there and get it?'” a third laughed.
The Top Five Reasons Neighbours Squabble
One study by Compare the Market revealed the top reason British neighbour’s argue
Broken fences – top of the board was broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix it
Parking: one of the leading drivers of neighbour disputes, with 54.1 per cent of people having issues with people parking in front of their house, parking bay or driveway
Trees – complaints about a neighbour’s tree cracking your garden path was also common with nearly half of participants finding it frustrating
Bin wars – outdoor bin etiquette continues to ignite the most furious debates between neighbours
Nosy Neighbours – some people have their eyes and ears at the ready to have a peek causing problems for others
But there were some people in the comments section who wondered what would have happened if there was someone on the other side of the fence.
“Omg what would have happened if a child or elderly person was other side of the fence?” one wrote.
“I would dread to think!”
“Imagine it fell on the neighbours plants or the poor old neighbour sitting in their back garden,” another added.
“Or a baby!”
“What if there was a toddler running around other side?” someone else commented.
A WOMAN has believed that she suffers with a rare condition that’s so bad, cruel trolls have told her she needs to call an “exorcist.”
Rachel, 20, revealed that her condition is so bad, she barely leaves the house and struggles to even order food at a restaurant.

The content creator suffers with Tourette’s, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary sounds or movements, known as tics.
Her body often twitches in an uncontrollable manner, and she makes lots of “random” noises such as whistling.
However, the worst part about Rachel’s condition is that she has something called coprolalia, which is a form of Tourette’s that causes sufferers to shout obscene and inappropriate phrases.
Only between 10 and 30% of Tourettes sufferers have coprolalia and it can cause those who have it to become extremely embarrassed and stressed.

“It does become frustrating that I can’t stop my tics or control them”, she told Love Don’t Judge.
Rachel had minor tics throughout her childhood, but they were so small that they were hardly noticeable.
However, when she was 15 her condition suddenly worsened very rapidly.
“It was very scary”, Rachel’s dad said.
“The person we knew was literally gone.”
After receiving an official diagnosis from her doctor, Rachel said the whole world crashed around her.
Scots Tourette’s sufferer from famous BBC doc to be played by Netflix star
“I absolutely refused to go anywhere”, she said.
She stopped attending school so had to be homeschooled and hardly ever met up with friends.
“It was incredibly isolating for a very long time”, she said.
“I remember feeling like my entire life was over.”
The reality of living with Tourette’s syndrome
TOURETTE’S syndrome is a condition that causes a person to make involuntary sounds and movements called tics.
It usually starts during childhood, but the tics and other symptoms often improve after several years, and sometimes go away completely.
There’s no cure for Tourette’s, but treatment can help manage symptoms.
The most common physical tics include:
Blinking
Eye rolling
Grimacing
Shoulder shrugging
Jerking of the head or limbs
Jumping
Twirling
Touching objects and other people
Examples of vocal tics include:
Grunting
Throat clearing
Whistling
Coughing
Tongue clicking
Animal sounds
Saying random words and phrases
Repeating a sound, word or phrase
Swearing
Swearing is rare and only affects about 1 in 10 people with Tourette’s.
Some people can control their tics for a short time in certain social situations, like in a classroom.
But this can be tiring, and someone may have a sudden release of tics when they return home.
Aidy Smith, who was diagnosed with Tourette’s aged nine, said these are the most common misconceptions about the condition:
It is a ‘swearing disease’ characterised by repeated bad language
People with Tourette’s can’t succeed in the workplace
It’s impossible to control your tics
‘Tourette’s’ is a ‘dirty’ word
It’s OK to make jokes about the condition because it isn’t serious
Source: NHS and Aidy Smith
Thankfully, Rachel’s saviour came when she posted a video to TikTok, showing her ticking, and it quickly blew up.
The post was flooded with people asking comments about her condition, or revealing that they experienced the same thing.
“They were happy to see it in the media”, she said.
“I thought, oh my gosh, I can do something positive.”
Rachel is now a content creator, and makes videos to raise awareness about Tourette’s.
However, she receives a lot of hate comments, from people who don’t believe it’s real.
“When people say I’m faking my Tourette’s Syndrome, I feel invalidated”, she said.
“It’s a core part of who I am.”
Rachel added that she has also had trolls claiming she needs “an exorcist”, and has been “taken over by a parasite.”
Despite finding these comments hurtful, Rachel sees them as all the more reason to raise awareness about her condition.
She said: “All I have to say to those who have judged me because of my condition is I hope that they learn to not judge others so quickly when they see something or someone that they don’t quite understand.
“I believe that we should all embrace our differences. And I think that we should all be committed to being so beautifully and uniquely and truly ourselves.”
SHOPPERS have slammed a bargain retail giant after spotting Christmas decor on shelves four months early.
Many have claimed it is “ridiculous” and an “absolute joke” to see the festive decorations so early in the year.

Despite this August being sunnier and warmer for Scots than normal, The Range is already preparing for the winter months.
And shoppers were left fuming when the retailer showed off its range of Christmas buys that are now up for grabs.
The Range took to social media to share its brand new collection of festive decor, which is already stocked on shelves.
In one Facebook post, the shop showed a number of festive cushions and teddies, including cuddly Christmas puddings, gingerbread men, candy canes, and snowy trains and villages.
There was also a huge collection of different Christmas bedding sets, each with its own theme, and large Santa toys.
Fan favourite festive candles were also on display, as well as diffusers with classic Christmas smells such as gingerbread and cranberries.
Our Christmas candles have officially landed. Because it’s never too early for a little festive magic

Other pieces of decor for the home were up for grabs, like little gingerbread house ornaments, green glass trees and gold lanterns.
The Range captioned one post: “They’re here… and yes, it’s still summer.
“Our Christmas candles have officially landed. Because it’s never too early for a little festive magic.”
And another post on Facebook read: “Not to sleigh the surprise… but since you asked for MORE, here’s a little festive teaser.
‘I’m so ready!’ people say as B&M drops this year’s Christmas PJs, with cute kids’ ‘pigs in blankets’ ones for a fiver
“Too early? Snow way! Our full Christmas collection is coming soon – stay tuned!”
But the posts led to an outcry from shoppers who said it “spoils the magic” by being in shops so early – especially when the summer is still considered to be in full swing.
Many flocked to the comments to blast the shop for selling Christmas decor before the official start of autumn.
One person said: “Have a day off, it’s bloody August!”
Another added: “Spoils the magic of it. It’s ridiculous”.
Someone else wrote: “Absolute joke…”
While a fourth shared: “Ridiculous, it’s not even Halloween”.
And a fifth chimed in: “I love Christmas, but this is far too early”.
How to save money at The Range
THE Range shoppers can save extra cash by using these tips…
Shop, within a shop – In some The Range stores there’s a ‘secret’ shop within a shop.
You can purchase Iceland products in over 85 of the retailer’s branches.
The budget grocery items are a must for plenty of shoppers with hungry mouths to feed back at home.
Shop the sale – Even some of the biggest ticket items are slashed in price if you know when to shop.
A good tip for online shoppers is to use the “offers” tab on The Range website.
It’s where you’ll find deals like this and all the best bargains are saved in one place so you can browse hundreds of products that have been reduced.
It’s also where you’ll find the “Mega Drop”.
Use Facebook – You can use Facebook to your advantage before you head out to shop at The Range.
Like-minded bargain hunters flock to the social media platform to post all about their latest finds and how they managed to score the best prices.
Others, however, seem delighted to get into the Christmas spirit before summer’s over.
A user posted: “Woop woop, skip Halloween and just have Christmas”.
A second commented: “Can’t wait to see the full range of Christmas stock out in shops”.
And a shopper agreed: “Please hurry, I keep popping in to check”.
While a fourth cheered: “Sooooooooo excited, I love Christmas”.
Someone else added: “YASSSSSS, IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!”

IT’s been HOT this summer – it’s no surprise if some of your usual garden favourites are wilting somewhat.
But as the climate changes it’s worth thinking about new varieties that can cope a bit better going forward.

There’s a whole host of wildflowers out there that can handle the heat and still put on a beautiful show.
Dr Emily Attlee, conservation scientist and co-founder of Seedball has shared her top picks with Sun Gardening.
CONEFLOWERS
“Not just a feast for the eyes, these are tough and reliable perennials that come back year after year. Easy to grow and adored by pollinators, coneflowers bring long-lasting colour and drought resilience to any garden.
OXEYE DAISY
“Spotted on roadside verges, the oxeye daisy is a fuss-free flower that thrives on neglect. It handles poor soil well and requires very little watering once settled in.
These cheerful self-seeders return annually and spread with ease – bringing with them rustic charm and a welcome haven for pollinators.
MEADOWHALL CRANESBILL
Although young plants may need a little more water to begin with, meadow cranesbill is a fantastic choice for dry, well-drained soil once matured.
With rich violet blooms and a place in the geranium family, this plant supports pollinators while adding definition and charm to beds and borders.
MUSK MALLOW
With soft pink flowers and a classic cottage garden appeal, musk mallow is both beautiful and hardy. Low maintenance and drought tolerant, it dies back in Autumn but reliably reappears in spring. Its vintage look and wildlife-friendly nature make it a garden favourite.
CORNFLOWER
These eye-catching blue blooms feature open faces, frilled petals, and curly stamens. Loved by bees and other beneficial insects, cornflowers are easy going once established and thrive with minimal watering. Ideal for adding colour and texture to a dry garden.“
She added: “These are just a small selection, as most native wildflowers are naturally suited to withstand drought once they’ve taken root.
Everyone can see the sunflowers but you need 20-20 vision to spot the three hidden faces in 13 seconds
“Many have evolved over time to adapt to the UK’s unpredictable weather patterns, including long dry periods. Some even store seeds beneath the soil, ready to regenerate when conditions improve.
“So, if you’re planning for the future of your patch, wildflowers are a smart, sustainable choice.”

Top tips, news, Plant of the Week and a competition to win a Spring Bulb Bundle with 183 bulbs!!
NEWS! Multi award-winning garden designer, Pip Probert, from BBC 2’s Your Garden Made Perfect, is designing the headline feature garden at this year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Autumn Fair, taking place at Audley End House and Gardens in Saffron Walden, Essex next weekend. As reported previously in Sun Gardening – the ‘Make a Metre Matter’ campaign encourages gardeners to transform a metre of outdoor space for the good of the planet. More than 13,500 eco-friendly metres have been pledged at gardenersworld.com to date, and Pip’s feature garden is brimming with meaningful metres to inspire Autumn Fair visitors to get involved. For tickets, visit www.bbcgardenersworldfair.com.
TOP TIP! If you’re thinking about attracting birds to your garden and keeping them happy in Autumn – then Honeysuckle is a win-win plant for your outside space. It will provide you with a gorgeous scent and lovely trumpet-shaped flowers, as well as being a great climber for trellis and walls. But in September it also provides lush red berries – a favourite food source for birds and other wildlife. Or consider Cotoneaster shrubs – blackbirds and thrushes absolutely love them – just check the size of the one you’re buying as you don’t want it to take over.
TOP TIP! IF you’re coming to the end of your tomato journey for this year and you’ve still got some on the vine that look like they’ve got no chance of turning red – don’t despair. Some experts suggest putting them in a bowl with a banana! The bendy yellow fruit emit ethylene – a compound that helps fruit ripen. Or you can just make green tomato chutney. Remember to chop up your vines and chuck them on the compost.
JOB OF THE WEEK! If you’re lucky to have wisteria – cut back this year’s current green shoots to five/six leaves. It will prevent it from growing too large and unwieldy.
PLANT OF THE WEEK! Spider Lillies are blooming now – and are named after the stamens resemble spider legs. Great for tropical borders, they look really exotic, best in full sun, in well drained soil and are full hardy to -5ºC
TOP TIP If your kitchen ginger has started sprouting, plant in a shallow tray with the shoot poking out – as it grows, keep topping up the soil. Keep on a sunny windowsill and you can grow year round as long as it doesn’t get too cold.
WIN! Win one of FOUR Spring Saver Bulb Bundle – 183 Bulbs WORTH £64.94 from Suttons Seeds. Featuring a variety of beloved spring-flowering bulbs to bring colour from February all the way through May, they’re ideal for beds or rockeries and can be layered in patio pots. But when it comes to dating, it’s proving to be quite a challenge.
The 31-year-old, who got divorced last year, has been searching high and low for Mr Right – and while she’s had many suitors, there’s been a recurring issue.
They are “too ashamed” to be seen in public with her.
In a clip, which has racked up 987,000 views and over 199,000 likes, she revealed how she gets the last laugh by staying single.
“I’ve been back in the dating world and it’s been an eye-opening experience,” the size 26 model, who is 6ft tall and weighs 385lbs, told What’s The Jam.
“Despite the online hate I receive, I’ve found that plenty of men are interested in dating me.
“For most, that interest stays behind closed doors, as if they’re ashamed to be seen with a larger woman.
“I dated one guy who admitted that he doesn’t want anyone to know about us.
“And said that his family wouldn’t approve because of my size.
“It’s pretty traumatising when you get to know someone, develop feelings, and then they tell you you’re not good enough to be introduced on their arm simply because of how much you weigh.
I’m a confident plus-size girl – trolls call me a whale & men are intimated by me, but I won’t stop showing off my body
“I’ve had professional athletes and rappers in my DMs, which proves that the idea you have to fit into a certain body to be liked isn’t true.”
Alex, who hails from Miami, US, says that men are “drawn” to her “unapologetic confidence” as it’s “rare” to find that nowadays – especially in those plus-size.
She said: “I know that kind of confidence can be magnetic.
“But I’m looking for someone who wants me for who I am, not my curves.
“I want a relationship built on genuine connection, not just attraction.”

“If one man doesn’t want you, five others will. Don’t ever settle,” added Shelly.
Alex added: “Dating as a plus-size woman is harder because men just lust after you.
“And the majority want to experience you, but don’t know how to fit you into their world because of the harsh judgment we receive.
“I still have hope that I will find somebody, and I want to tell people not to settle.
“It’s complicated.
“But I refuse to entertain anyone who would keep me a secret.”

While Millie is 5ft6, Chelsea is five inches shorter at 5ft1, and has more youthful features, leading to an outpouring of shocked comments online.
Videos of the pair have garnered over one million views, and left them fuming over the trolling they’ve received as a result.
“It affects us when people are accusing me of being attracted to children,” Millie, from East Midlands, UK, told What’s The Jam.
“It’s disgraceful as Chelsea is older than me.
“Other comments call her my son, or nephew, or brother.
“We understand the comments about the age difference – we personally think it’s just about Chelsea’s height.
“But viewers read more into it and say her features are young.
The couple, who are both support workers and have been together for nine years, say the comments have affected how they interact with one another when they are out and about.
Millie said: “We’ve been made to feel we can’t act like a couple in public.
I’m a 48-year-old cougar and have a toyboy 13 years younger
“If people saw me holding hands with my ‘son’, we would get funny looks.
“We’ve accepted it now and just accept the fact that we may not always [be able to] act like we are in a relationship.”
A recent video shared by the pair went viral on TikTok, garnering 1.7 million views, showing the couple posing next to each other on a balcony, showing off their height difference, which is exacerbated by Millie wearing wedged shoes.

Another viewer said, “Please tell me that’s your brother.”
“This is mother and son, right?” another user asked.
Someone else commented: “I legit thought this was your little brother.”
“Is he 12?” another person wondered.

A WOMAN who moved from a council estate to a “posh” house has admitted she wasn’t prepared for her nightmare neighbour.
TerriAnn is famous for appearing on TV show Rich House, Poor House, and regularly shares behind the scenes tales from the show on her social media pages.

She said it seemed as though the doctor didn’t like the fact she’d come from a council estate and had made it to a “posh” homeCredit: TikTok / @terriann_nunns
In a recent TikTok, she decided to post a story time of “coming from a council estate and moving to a ‘POSH’ area”, as she recalled acclimatising to the new home, and an unfortunate situation with their neighbour.
Calling it her “dream home”, which came complete with a cinema room and bar, TerriAnn said the real problems began when she spent £40,000 building a home office in her garden.
“Then I had a new neighbour and he was a doctor and he wasn’t very nice,” she said.
“I think personally he could not stand the fact like I’m just me – I’m not posh, I’m just me, I’ll never change.
“I’ll always be from a council estate, always a bit rough and ready… and he just couldn’t stand us.”
While the house had a “massive drive” for all her staff to park on, they all arrived for work at different times, meaning that they ended up blocking each other in.
So they instead decided to park on the street.
And following one of her staff having an argument with the neighbour, the man ended up phoning the council to complain.
“Then when council got involved basically the reason I had to move out of the house is because they said I couldn’t run my business from there,” she said.
“So I’d spent £40,000 on this office being built in the back garden and the council turned around and said you’re using your property as a commercial property.
Trolls call me ‘entitled’ because I drive a Range Rover but live in a council house – I don’t care, haters are jealous
“There was a massive hoo-ha over it anyway and I thought, I’m not staying here and not being able to run my business.
“It’s just not worth it what we’ve invested.”
So they decided to sell the house – making a profit in the process – and then moved to another home, which was the one that featured in Rich House, Poor House.
Concluding the video, TerriAnn said it wasn’t the first time she’d been discriminated against for coming from a council estate – and it probably won’t be the last.
“I think they look down on people who have turned their life around, who are now living that lifestyle – who are doing it by genuine means, who are earning legitimate money.”
She was quickly praised in the comments section for her refreshing attitude, with one writing: “Love to see my own kind of people getting along in life good on you.
What It’s Really Like Growing Up On A Council Estate
Fabulous reporter, Leanne Hall, recalls what it’s like growing up in social housing.
As someone who grew up in a block of flats on a council estate, there are many wild stories I could tell.
From seeing a neighbour throw dog poo at the caretaker for asking them to mow their lawn (best believe they ended up on the Jeremy Kyle show later in life) to blazing rows over packages going missing, I’ve seen it all.
While there were many times things kicked off, I really do believe most of the time it’s because families living on council estates get to know each other so well, they forget they’re neighbours and not family.
Yes, things can go from zero to 100 quickly, but you know no matter what you can rely on your neighbour to borrow some milk or watch all of the kids playing outside.
And if you ask me, it’s much nicer being in a tight community where boundaries can get crossed than never even knowing your neighbour’s name while living on a fancy street.
“Sounds like the doctor was very bitter and jealous of you!”
“You hit the nail on the head,” another agreed.
“As long as you’re happy now!” a third said.
“Love your story times, you’re so real,” someone else added.

She’s been documenting her weight loss journey on her TikTok page, and is now no stranger to confidently flaunting her new figure in skintight ensembles.
But it was a different story two years ago, when Karina was a whopping 10 stone (65kg) heavier.
In a slideshow of pictures on TikTok, she showed how she looked before losing the weight – soundtracked by Michael Bublé’s cover of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good.
In the final picture, at the culmination of the song, she showed how she looks now – with her figure perfectly highlighted by her bodycon dress.

“The journey is worth it. This is your sign to start,” she captioned the TikTok.
Unsurprisingly, people were gobsmacked by Karina’s new look, with some even alleging her glow up was AI.
“Feelinggggg… AI,” one laughed.
“Convince me that’s not AI!” another said.
While a third wrote a simple “AI”, to which Karina responded: “I’ll take this as a compliment!”
And others praised Karina for her dedication to her weight loss and transformation.

Jamie, Krys’ mum, found out about the pregnancy after receiving a phone call from Tookie’s mum.
“I expected Tookie and Krys to behave to eachother like brother and sister”, Jamie said.
Krys had only just got back in contact with his mother when he got Tookie pregnant, and was worried their bond would become fractured again.
Ex On The Beach stars reveal they’re ENGAGED after four kids and cheating scandal – and the wedding is just weeks away
Jamie said she was hurt and disappointed by the actions of the pair, but still loves Tookie as a daughter.
The couple now share a daughter named Blu, who is 20 months old.
Despite his young age, Tookie said that Krys was a great help following her birth, and she didn’t have to lift a finger.
“I love the way he is, you’re a good father”, Tookie said to Krys.
Here’s why I love being a young mum
Tracy Kiss, who fell pregnant at 19, has revealed what she believes are the pros of being a young mother.
The personal trainer and blogger, from Buckinghamshire, believes women who give birth in their teens make BETTER mothers than those in their 30s.
She claims young mums snap back into shape quicker, have more energy and relate more easily to their children, meaning they’re better behaved and happier.
Tracy told Fabulous: “Women who become first-time mums in their teens make better parents than those in their 30s or 40s.
“I believe if I’d been 10 or so years older before becoming a mother then I wouldn’t have the relationship I have with my children now.
“For a start, being older I would have had less energy and therefore less patience.
“I wouldn’t be as enthusiastic to speak to people after months of sleepless nights as I was in my teens.
“My body snapped back to its pre-pregnancy size through fitness post-birth, which in turn gave me the confidence to date and find love again. I’ve never been happier than I am now at the age of 30 with two children.
“If I’d have been alone at 40 with a newborn baby I’d be more tired, less happy with my body, less energetic and far more stressed from the shock of living my life for myself instead of putting others first. Sometimes age and the innocence of ignorance is a good thing.
“As a teen mum I just got on with it, found my feet and became responsible and capable because at the time I didn’t know any different.”
The couple get lots of hate online for their unique relationship, but don’t let trolls get them down.
“If you’re still judging, then honestly, you’re miserable”, Krys said.
A WOMAN has revealed how Mounjaro didn’t just help her shed weight, it also saved her son’s life.

She said: “A year ago I was 110kg (17.3st).”
Shell then shared a picture of herself before her weight loss as she explained: “After many diets and gym sessions and swimming, nothing was working (I am 42, everything slows down).”
But the mum revealed that she wasn’t just losing weight for herself, she also needed to do it to save her son’s life.
She revealed that her 17-year-old needed a new kidney and while she was a match, she needed to lose weight to go through with the operation.

Shell said she needed to get down to 80kg (12.5st) so decided to give Mounjaro a go.
In just seven months, she was able to lose 5.5st and go down to 11.8st.
Shell explained that she stopped taking in Mounjaro in March and donated her kidney in April.
Now, the mum has been off the drug for six months and says she has only put on 3kg.
“My body seems to have stabilised at this weight and I’m more than happy as I look great, and saved my son’s life,” she added.
She also updated those who commented, saying: “My son and me have recovered well to those who asked and my kidney has bedded into his body well! It was all worth it!”

I went on fat jabs but the hair loss was unbelievable so I quit – I’d rather be chubby with hair than skinny and bald
The post soon went viral and many congratulated the mum and her son in the comments.
One person wrote: “What a woman, what a mother, you gave life to your son twice.”
Another commented: “Best story I’ve read to lose weight. Well done you.”
“Aww that’s a wonderful story! So happy to hear both are doing well,” penned a third.
What are the other side effects of weight loss jabs?
Like any medication, weight loss jabs can have side effects.
Common side effects of injections such as Ozempic include:
Nausea: This is the most commonly reported side effect, especially when first starting the medication. It often decreases over time as your body adjusts.
Vomiting: Can occur, often in conjunction with nausea.
Diarrhea: Some people experience gastrointestinal upset.
Constipation: Some individuals may also experience constipation.
Stomach pain or discomfort: Some people may experience abdominal pain or discomfort.
Reduced appetite: This is often a desired effect for people using Ozempic for weight loss.
Indigestion: Can cause a feeling of bloating or discomfort after eating.
Serious side effects can also include:
Pancreatitis: In rare cases, Ozempic may increase the risk of inflammation of the pancreas, known as pancreatitis, which can cause severe stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.
Kidney problems: There have been reports of kidney issues, including kidney failure, though this is uncommon.
Thyroid tumors: There’s a potential increased risk of thyroid cancer, although this risk is based on animal studies. It is not confirmed in humans, but people with a history of thyroid cancer should avoid Ozempic.
Vision problems: Rapid changes in blood sugar levels may affect vision, and some people have reported blurry vision when taking Ozempic.
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Especially if used with other medications like sulfonylureas or insulin.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “How amazing are you! You should be immensely proud of yourself not just because of your weight loss (and you look amazing) but because of saving your son.”
“Wow what a fantastic story,” claimed a fifth
Someone else added: “You look incredible and what an amazing gift to give your son.”
A MUM halved her weight without the help of fat jabs and now men are racing to take her out.
Laura Taylor was a heavy size 24 before she embarked on her weight loss journey in March 2024, after struggling with her weight since she was a teenager.

The mum claims fellas would flee dates because ‘they didn’t realise’ her size, but now blokes try to woo her with drinks.
The 35-year-old says the battle with her weight began when she was bullied for being ‘fat’ and branded ‘tree trunk legs’ by cruel bullies at high school.
As a result, the mum-of-five didn’t wear a skirt for decades and was reluctant to leave the house due to her size 24 figure.
The self-conscious cleaning business owner would only share pictures of her face, not of her body, on her dating profiles.
Laura says when she did meet up for dates, men would sheepishly admit they ‘didn’t realise how big she was’ before slinking off just an hour after meeting her.
After trying and failing to lose the weight naturally, Laura underwent a ‘life-changing’ gastric sleeve operation in Turkey in March 2024.
Since then, she has switched her old diet of McDonald’s breakfasts, pub lunches, takeaway dinners, and five cans of Coca-Cola per day for protein coffees, fruit and chicken salads.
As a result, Laura has shed a whopping 10 stone in 16 months, initially tipping the scales at 20st 1lb and dropping down to 9st 13lbs and a slinky size eight.
Following her incredible weight loss, Laura says men now race to the bar to buy her drinks – and she’s finally confident enough to share full body images on her dating profile.
Laura, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, said: “When men tell me that I look beautiful and sexy because I’ve lost all of my weight I do feel it.
I look unrecognisable after my 14st weight loss – it’s like my partner has brand new girlfriend
“When I was really big I used to go on dates and then an hour later they would say that they had to go and then I’d get blocked.
“They used to say that they didn’t realise how big I was or that my pictures looked different because they couldn’t see my body.
“I never used to show my body [on my dating profile], I just used to show my face.
“I include pictures of my body now. All of my profile pictures are of my full body because I feel more confident in myself now I’ve lost weight.
“I think I look a lot better, but I think I still have the mindset of when I was fat.
“I go out and I’ve got men coming up to me asking to buy me a drink and I’m like ‘what do you see in me really?’ Sometimes it’s quite hard to take in.”
Problems with Laura’s weight first began when she received cruel comments from bullies at high school.
Laura said: “I’ve had an issue with my weight all my life, really since I was a teenager.
“I got a lot of bullying at school because when I used to wear skirts I’d get called ‘tree trunk legs’ and fat.
“After a couple times of wearing skirts I never wore them again.
“I never wanted to go to school with a skirt on because I used to get called that all the time.
“Food was a comfort for me. I used to sit at home and eat food because I got bullied and I felt like nobody fancied me.”
After struggling with her weight since she was a teen, Laura decided to commit to having gastric sleeve surgery.
What is the difference between a gastric band, bypass and sleeve?
Gastric band: where a band is used to reduce the stomach’s size, meaning you will feel full after eating a reduced amount of food
Gastric bypass: where your digestive system is re-routed past stomach, so you digest less food and it takes less to make you feel full
Sleeve gastrectomy: where some of the stomach is removed, to reduce the amount of food required to make you feel full
When coupled with exercise and a healthy diet, weight loss surgery has been found to be effective in dramatically reducing a patient’s excess body fat.
Recent research in the United States found that people with gastric bands lose around half of their excess body weight.
Meanwhile gastric bypasses reduce this excess body weight by two thirds post-op.
However, it’s not always successful – and patients still need to take responsibility for eating well and working out.
Laura said: “I went to the doctors and asked to be put on the waiting list for a gastric sleeve in the UK but they told me I wasn’t big enough.
“I looked at the prices in the UK but it was £10,500 and I didn’t have the money.
“When I was pricing it up it was so much cheaper in Turkey than it was over here.
“It was £2,400 and then the flights were £600, so about £3,000 in total.
“The NHS was a six-year waiting list and I couldn’t wait that long because I didn’t leave the house.
“I didn’t see my friends or anything like that because they were all quite skinny and I was the fat one of the bunch.”
Since having the £3,000 op, Laura says she gets told she looks younger and some of her friends don’t even recognise her when they see her in the street.
Laura said: “I get told I look younger because I have lost a lot of weight in my face.
“I feel good in myself and people say that I look amazing.
“I do need to start taking those compliments in because I’ve been fat all of my life it’s hard for me to say I do actually look good.
“A lot of friends haven’t seen me in the past 18 months and when I’ve been out they’ve walked past me.
“I’ve had to tap them on the shoulder and say ‘do you not recognise me?’.”
Laura says she now finally has the confidence to wear skirts and dresses again and will even be wearing a bikini when she goes on holiday in August.
Laura said: “I never used to wear the stuff I wear now, there’s no way I would be putting on a dress on above my knees.
“I don’t go out in jeans now, I only wear skirts or dresses.”
Laura says the operation ‘saved her life’ and has had a positive impact on her socially.
Laura said: “I’ve always been the one [in my friend group] that’s sat in the corner and not really danced because I didn’t want to.
“I’m on the dance floor before anyone else now because I’ve got so much energy I want to dance.
“The operation saved my life. I’d still be sat in the house now not going out, so it has changed my life completely.”
Here’s what Laura would eat in a day.

The 5 best exercises to lose weight
By Lucy Gornall, personal trainer and health journalist
EXERCISE can be intimidating and hard to devote yourself to. So how do you find the right workout for you?
As a PT and fitness journalist, I’ve tried everything.
I’ve taken part in endless fitness competitions, marathons and I maintain a regime of runs, strength training and Pilates.
Fitness is so entrenched in my life, I stick to it even at Christmas!
The key is finding an activity you love that can become a habit.
DID you know there are rainforests in Britain? Nope – me neither.
But you may well have visited one without realising if you’ve holidayed in Cornwall, Wales or along the Atlantic Coastline.

Especially if you remember walking through green woodland packed with ferns, moss and lichen – with a really memorable earthy, damp scent.
They once covered more than 20 per cent of the UK – but history devoured them – and now there’s less than one per cent.
So the Wildlife Trust, sponsored by Aviva, has just launched an epic 100-year restoration project to bring them back.
The temperate rainforest restoration programme will restore approximately 1,755 hectares of temperate rainforest across the British Isles.
Some of the new sites created through this programme includeBowden Pillarsin Devon,Bryn Ifanin North Wales,Creg y Cowinand Glion Darragh on the Isle of Man,Trellwyn Fachin Pembrokeshire, and – most recently – Skiddaw in Cumbria.
Garden Designer Zoe Claymore, won a silver gilt medal at RHS Chelsea for her British Rainforest Garden.
She told me: “I didn’t know it at the time – but I played in a British rainforest as a child. The end of my grandparents garden in Devon went into Lidford Gorge which is one of the last existing rainforests.
“In the UK they’re found in the Goldilocks zone – not too hot, not too cold – and by rivers, gullies and gorges, because you also need the moisture from the river creating that ecosystem.”
But there are ways of recreating one in your own garden, she said.
“Even if you don’t live in an area suited to creating a rainforest there’s other plants that will create the same vibes.
Mums are raving about an indoor tropical rainforest attraction in the UK
“Create shade with Hazels – they’re a great small tree which gives a real native-feel and perfect for small gardens. Or include hollies, birch or willows.
“Create a water feature – from a little stream with a few rocks or simply as an old-school rock water bowl – to create that sense of humidity.
“But even if you just did a pond in a pot surrounded by some fun little logs, that will create habitat, that will bring wildlife, and it will create that kind of feeling of rainforest-y wetness.”
It’s easy to make a home made pond – using old washing up bowls. Tesco’s are currently selling one for just £2.75.
First choose a spot that’s sunny but not in direct sunlight all day – otherwise the water will evaporate.
Then all you have to do is put some logs around it, and a few stones, so wildlife can climb in and out easily – almost like a ramp.
Ideally fill it with rain water rather than tap.
And then put in about three water plants – like mini water lillies or water forget-me-not and sit back waiting for the wildlife.
Zoe added: “Then use British classic woodland plants and really focus on ferns – the unsung beautiful heroes of shade gardening – as well as bluebells, foxgloves, primulars, ivy, bananas and – if you’ve got a wet area – moss – which is the jewel in the crown – so your garden will be green all year round.”
For a ‘how to’ guide adapted to all UK gardens – as well as a rainforest-inspired pot combination – head to www.zoeclaymore.com – and a share of the proceeds will go the Wildlife Trust.

NEWS! A dad’s 60-year-old lawnmower has taken its place in gardening history as the UK’s oldest Flymo – after he read a plea in Sun Gardening.
Pete Goddard’s monumental mower was inducted into the British Lawnmower Museum in Southport, Merseyside, last week after Flymo sent out a request for old mowers.
The rare blue Flymo was unveiled last month – taking its place in the museum alongside King Charles, Brian May, and Nicholas Parsons’ former mowers.
It came after a nationwide search for the UK’s oldest Flymo to celebrate 60 years since the iconic hover mower was invented.
The 79-year-old retired Highway Maintenance Operative’s Flymo was originally bought in the 1960s by his father-in-law and lovingly maintained across three generations – and still works today.

A WOMAN who thought she was going on a romantic cruise with her partner was left stunned after she realised what was really going on.
Robyn-Jay was looking forward to her 10-day cruise, but that excitement quickly faded when she realised many of the holiday makers were swingers.

Robyn-Jay said she would never go on a cruise again after her experienceCredit: tiktok.com/@robynjaym/
Taking to TikTok to share her story, she explained that she and her partner went to the ship’s nightclub on the first night as they tried to settle in and get their bearings.
That’s when things began to take a turn and as they decided to sit in a booth and people watch when a man came up to them to ask if they “wanted a third”, Robyn-Jay claimed.
But the strange encounters didn’t end there, as on the second night Robyn-Jay claimed a woman called their room and tried to hook up with the couple, despite having never met them before.
According to Robyn-Jay, the woman needed to know their room number, which they didn’t share, to be able to call, which made the couple feel uneasy.
The pair said they could also hear couples from other rooms on the ship shouting at each other from their balconies.
“It’s not that they were friends, they were trying to arrange hook ups,” she said in the viral video.
But it was what allegedly happened next that drew the line for the holidaymaker.
She explained that one night she got all dressed up to enjoy some of the entertainment the cruise put on.
After finding a quiet place to sit with her partner, Robyn-Jay claimed she noticed a man sat at another tabled was staring at her.
“This was something different, this was a whole other level. I felt so uncomfortable in my skin, it really gives you that horrible feeling inside,” she said.
Terrified sprinting tourists are LEFT BEHIND after cruise ship flees Hawaii tsunami as Brit reveals mad dash to escape
That’s when the man, who was sat with his wife, allegedly bent down to try and look up Robyn-Jay’s skirt.
She went on to explain that her partner, William, soon noticed and called the man out on his behaviour before he got up and left with his wife.
The holidaymaker went on to claim that she even saw an older man act inappropriately towards a young girl on the ship and he was overly touchy with her.
“I just really think [cruises are] a place for a bit of lawlessness and I think people go there knowing that and I honestly dread to think what goes on in the eyes of other people,” she said.
After sharing her experience, people chimed in to share their experiences on cruise ships, and many thought Robyn-Jay got unlucky.
“I’ve just been on a Marella Cruise and never experienced anything like this,” one person said.
And a second agreed: “Been on a few cruises – not my experience,” they commented on the video.
“This could have happened absolutely anywhere, it’s not because you were on a cruise. It’s also completely common knowledge that cruises are swinger’s paradise,” someone else wrote.
And someone who claimed to work for a cruise company added: “This is a well known thing on some cruise ships.
“Unfortunately you have experienced some awful behaviour and some people should understand that not everyone’s a swinger. Not all cruise lines behave like this.”
Pros and cons of going on a cruise ship
Whether you’re considering a long holiday, working remotely or even living on board a cruise ship for a few months or years, here are the pros and cons from a former cruise shipper.
Pros
Travel the world, learn and experience new cultures
Meet new people
Don’t have to think or worry about room cleaning, or food
Cons
Internet connection can be painfully slow and expensive
Limited luggage allowance so have to wear the same clothes on rotation
Having no control of where the ship would go next and the possibility of visiting the same ports
Having the same onboard entertainment, on-demand movies, and little choice of TV channels
No fresh newspapers or new books unless someone adds them to the library
Relatively the same food week after week unless major menu changes occur seasonally.
Occasional rough seas, bad weather and viral outbreaks while inboard.
A YOUNG woman has shared all on her “cool” side hustle that sees her make thousands of pounds in just a few days.
Chifae, a 23-year-old woman from London, explained that with her job, not only does she make cash quickly, but she even gets to meet loads of celebrities too.

Eager to reveal more about how she earns a living, Chifae took to social media and explained that instead of a 9 to 5 job, she works as a film extra.
In film and television, a film extra, also known as a background actor, is a performer who often appears in a non-speaking role, typically in the background of a scene.
Film extras help create a sense of realism by populating scenes, whilst providing context for the main action.

As Chifae filmed herself in the street, she beamed: “If you live in London, this is your sign to start working as a film extra.
“I made almost £2,000 for just seven days of shooting and got to meet Tom Cruise and Rosamund Pike.”
While Chifae is a film extra in London, and has even met Harry Styles whilst out and about in the city, many other major cities in the UK and around the world will also be looking for people to star in the background of scenes.
For those in London, Chifae recommended the following casting agencies – Rachel’s People, Key Castings, Universal Extras, Extra People, Entertainment Partners and Slick Casting.
Chifae’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @chifou02, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 179,700 views in just seven days.
Not only this, but it’s also amassed 18,300 likes, 212 comments and 2,952 saves.

A third commented: “That’s so cool!!”
Meanwhile, someone else beamed: “I do the same and it’s the best thing ever. They feed you good food like three times on shift as well. I once got paid the full date rate for three hours of work too.”
Whilst another chimed in and claimed: “I did this for years and even a body double role, was fun and was on set with many big names.”
At the same time, one user begged: “Can you send the agencies please.”

And another asked: “Do you need professional pictures taken to apply?”
In response, Chifae wrote back and confirmed: “I have professional photos but a lot of people don’t. You don’t need them.”
In a follow-up clip, Chifae then shared more on her job as an extra, as she claimed that it is often “very long hours” and shifts usually start from 4am or 5am and can go on until 8pm.
Do I need to pay tax on my side hustle income?
MANY people feeling strapped for cash are boosting their bank balance with a side hustle.
The good news is, there are plenty of simple ways to earn some additional income – but you need to know the rules.
When you’re employed the company you work for takes the tax from your earnings and pays HMRC so you don’t have to.
But anyone earning extra cash, for example from selling things online or dog walking, may have to do it themselves.
Stephen Moor, head of employment at law firm Ashfords, said: “Caution should be taken if you’re earning an additional income, as this is likely to be taxable.
“The side hustle could be treated as taxable trading income, which can include providing services or selling products.”
You can make a gross income of up to £1,000 a year tax-free via the trading allowance, but over this and you’ll usually need to pay tax.
Stephen added: “You need to register for a self-assessment at HMRC to ensure you are paying the correct amount of tax.
“The applicable tax bands and the amount of tax you need to pay will depend on your income.”
If you fail to file a tax return you could end up with a surprise bill from HMRC later on asking you to pay the tax you owe – plus extra fees on top.
Although the hours are long, Chifae claimed that working as an extra is a great way to make “a lot of money” as extras are paid “very good extra money for the overtime.”
She then added: “You don’t have access to your phone, so it’s a good way also to make friends and meet people.
“You have to sign NDAs – you’re not allowed to post pictures of sets or anything, they’re very strict on that.
“But if you don’t have a 9 to 5 and you wanna do this for fun or extra money, or just to gain some experience in film, it’s a very good way to start because you meet a lot of people and you get to meet very famous actors, film directors and it’s just a good experience.”

On her account, she shared the entire story – and people are split in the comments.
She claimed: “About two months ago, our neighbor asked us to remove our trees because flowers were falling into his yard.
“Of course I felt terrible but we said no, because I loved those trees for many reasons. “However, we immediately had them professionally cut back (which we do every other year, per our landscaper’s recommendation). He lost it.
“He sent a bunch of unhinged messages to my husband but we thought it had blown over after we had the trees cut back and the flowers stopped blooming.
“Fast forward to this past weekend, while we weren’t home (which he knew), they were mysteriously chopped down. Every last one.
“They were cut aggressively and conveniently in a way that ensured nothing fell into his yard.”
She shared how she had asked neighbours if they had seen what happened – and word got back to the person they suspect did it.
The woman claims he then started sending her husband “threatening messages” filled with “profanity and intimidation.”
The social media user said she wasn’t sharing the story for sympathy but because she felt “heartbroken”.
She said she has filed a police report and is trying to get justice over the incident.

People were quick to tune in on the tree debacle, with one saying: “Huge trees are a pain in a garden but you cannot just go in neighbors garden and cut them down!”
Another also supported her saying: “What type of psycho goes to another person’s yard and cuts down their trees!!!!
“It’s truly insane. I’m sorry this was done to you.”
However, some people took the neighbour’s side.
One wrote: “Why do people plant their trees so close to the border?”
Another added: “understand your feelings but anything hanging over his yard I presume he can legally cut back?”
What are your rights if a neighbour’s tree hangs into your garden?

In order to prevent overhanging branches turning into furious rows between neighbours, Natalie Welsh, head of property at HCB Widdows Mason shared what your rights are in this tricky situation.
“It can be really frustrating when branches or plants from your neighbour’s garden start to spill over into your space”, she said. “In England and Wales, you’re allowed to cut back any branches that cross onto your property, but only up to the boundary line.
“Just make sure you don’t step onto your neighbour’s land or damage the tree itself.”
Natalie advised that before taking any drastic action, it’s best to have a friendly chat with your neighbour first.
Rules on fences and trees
Fences:
Height Restrictions: In most areas, fences in front gardens should not exceed one metre in height without planning permission. For rear gardens, the limit is generally two metres.
Shared Fences: If a fence is shared with a neighbour, both parties are typically responsible for its maintenance and any costs associated with repairs or replacement.
Building Regulations: Ensure that any new fence complies with local building regulations and does not obstruct visibility for drivers or pedestrians.
Trees:
Ownership: Trees located on your property are your responsibility, including any damage they may cause. Conversely, trees on a neighbour’s property are their responsibility.
Overhanging Branches: You are entitled to trim branches that overhang into your property, but only up to the boundary line. The cut branches should be offered back to the tree owner.
Protected Trees: Some trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs). Check with your local council before undertaking any work on a tree, as unauthorised work can result in fines.
Roots: If tree roots from a neighbour’s tree cause damage to your property, you have the right to remove the roots. However, it is advisable to discuss this with your neighbour first to avoid disputes.
Always consult your local council or a legal adviser for specific regulations and advice.
LAST week saw the hottest day of the year so far, when temperatures hit an incredible 33.2C in Charlwood, Surrey.
Chances are you were drooping in the heat, with low energy levels, unattractive sweating and a high possibility of sunburn.

The Sun’s Veronica Lorraine reveals how to help your outdoor plants this summer without splashing outCredit: Arthur Edwards / The Sun
Well guess what?
When your garden hits over 32C, much the same is happening to your plants.
They lose water through their leaves faster than they can absorb it, causing wilting, while the leaves themselves can get scorched.
They can also stop growing, as their energy levels are reduced.
But in the same way we splash water on ourselves, stay indoors and apply liberal coatings of suntan lotion, there are many ways of heat-proofing and protecting your garden.
And all of them are cheap or free – and very straightforward.
BE CLEVER WITH POTS

If you’ve got plants in pots, move them into the shade and group them together, so that they give each other protection.
Light coloured pots are best for container planting as they reflect the heat and sunlight, which in turn keeps the soil cooler and less prone to drying out.
Darker pots will absorb the heat, drying the contents much quicker and stressing the plants more.
B&M currently have some lovely light pink and pale green planters for just £2, while B&Q are selling deep white pots for £3.
Grow your groceries – how to grow tomatoes from tomatoes!
It’s worth remembering that pots – and hanging baskets – dry out really quickly in the heat and need much more watering.
When the weather’s this hot, water them daily if you can, giving them a really good soak.
Larger pots retain moisture better, so won’t dry out as quickly.
And while terracotta pots look lovely, they dry out much faster than other pots.

DON’T BE A WATERING WALLY

The best time to water is early in the morning so the water doesn’t evaporate
There’s a knack to watering in a heatwave – one of the most important tips to remember is not to water in the daytime.
The best time is early in the morning, before it starts getting really hot, so the water doesn’t evaporate. If that’s not an option, water when the sun’s gone down.
Morning is best, though, as slugs move around at night and love the damp soil.
And don’t water all over the plant, however tempting it is to remove the dust and return the leaves to their glossy former selves.
Aim directly for the roots, as wet leaves can cause fungus to form and, in really extreme cases, magnify the sunlight onto the leaves and cause scorching.
But mainly, it’s just a waste of water.
And give them a really good soaking once or twice a week, rather than a light water daily.
Experts reckon you should count to between 15 and 20 seconds as you water each plant to make sure the water soaks down through the soil to the roots.
LET LAWNS GO BROWN

It may not give the lush, healthy look that you’re looking for, but there is no problem with letting your lawn go brown.
If it’s healthy, it will cope and the green will return when there’s a bit of rain.
Also, if you’re currently thinking of laying a lawn, aim for a much hardier native lawn seed, like fescue.
This will withstand extreme heat a lot better than some of the more trendy varieties.
It’s also worth considering a lawn seed that’s mixed with wildflower seeds. Johnson’s Nature’s Lawn with Mowable Wildflowers (£12.99) creates a lovely blanket of blooms if you’re letting it grow longer in the heat.
It’s also best to raise your mower’s cutting level and instead of collecting cuttings, let them fall as mulch onto the lawn to keep in moisture.
TRAP WASTE WATER

Argos currently sells a standalone 100 litre butt, with a tap and connecting kit, for £28
Save and store any rainwater to reuse in your garden.
A water butt connected to roof drainage is probably the best option, as it will capture all your rainwater run-off from the pipes.
But a stand alone butt is a great addition to any garden.
There are all sorts on the market at the moment, including ones that attach to walls, which are great for smaller gardens as they don’t take up valuable space.
Argos currently sells a standalone 100 litre butt, with a tap and connecting kit, for just £28.
If you don’t have room for a water butt, just leave a few brightly coloured buckets around to catch any rain.
Or, if you’ve got just a few pots around your garden, you could invest in some cheap self-watering plant spikes, which you fill up with water and stick in your planters.
They release water slowly, reducing the need for a daily soak.
Temu has a set of five for £2.97 – so just 60p a pop.
If you’re feeling spendy, you could splash out on a dipping tank.
They’re beautifully designed and act as an elegant water feature for your garden, as well as creating valuable water storage.
The Dipping Tank Company has a 60cm tank for £395 – not cheap, but it will last a very long time.
You could also set up an irrigation system, although these are also costly. A leaky hose can work just as well.

With a bit of careful planning you can create a beautiful, calming escape in your garden with just a few choice products.
A sail shade is a quick, cheap and easy way to zone off a corner of your garden.
Dunelm’s Elements Grey Sail Parasol is just £15 at the moment.
Put garden furniture underneath it to create a lovely, cooling retreat. Dobbies Esme bistro set in green is currently on sale for £79.20, instead of £99.
You can surround the area with pots of fast-growing bamboo, which will not only add shade, but a lovely calming sound as the wind rustles through the leaves.
It’s best to keep bamboo in pots, otherwise it spreads underground and can cause real problems. You can even be fined if it spreads to your neighbours’ gardens.
Or you could plant banana trees in planters to create a natural shady barrier around your seating area. They grow really fast and add a proper exotic, tropical vibe, while also protecting you from the sunshine.
YouGarden are selling Musa Basjoo, aka Japanese banana plants, for just £9.99 at the moment.

PLANTS TO BEAT THE HEAT

Lidl has 40 litre bags of decorative bark chips for just £3.49Credit: Lidl
On a recent gardening trip to Venice, where it was topping 27C daily and only going to get hotter, there was a definite planting plan.
In many of the gardens I visited there were agapanthus, pittosporum, lavender, wisteria, jasmine, fig trees and great big Fatsia Japonicas.
They were bursting with colour, but most importantly had been planted because they could withstand the heat.
Other plants that will work well in UK gardens include geums, sedums, achillea, hardy geraniums, rosemary and salvias.
Remember to mulch your plants, which means covering the soil around them with a thin layer of protective material.
This could be wood chippings, well rotted manure, gravel, shredded leaves or special garden mulch.
It keeps the roots cool and moisture locked in, while also preventing weeds that can compete for water.
