Gogglebox favourites Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle have revealed a major milestone in their relationship – just months after being axed from the Channel 4 show.
The couple announced they’re moving out of their flat in Glasgow as Roisin, 26, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt reel.

In the short clip, significant moments flashed up on-screen including when the pair first moved into the flat as well as decorating a Christmas tree.
This was followed by shots of the empty flat after they moved all of their belongings out of the home they once shared.
A background voice is heard saying: “It was official, a new season had begun. After all, seasons change, so do cities, people come into your life and people go but it’s comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart and if you’re very lucky, a plane ride away.”
She captioned the post: “Oh I will miss you flat #movingout.”
In July, the two took to social media to share: “After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26. Therefore, we are leaving the Gogglebox family.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to Studio Lambert for the opportunity, the experience has actually been so mad and we will miss watching TV with you all on Friday nights!”
They added: “It’s been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don’t actually need subtitles.”
“We have made friends for life and after filming every week for years you have become like our family!
“We could not have asked for better people to work with and we will miss you immensely. It for sure has been a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Gogglebox favourites reveal major milestone in relationship – after being brutally axed from show
A spokesperson for Channel 4 said at the time: “We thank Joe and Roisin for their contributions to Gogglebox over the years, and wish them all the best for the future.”
The new series of Gogglebox kicked off last night but fans were left fuming after Roisin and Joe weren’t included in the line-up.
Taking to X, one raged: “What’s happened to Joe and Roisin, they were the funniest ffs.”
Another added: “Can’t believe they got rid of Roisin and Joe, some of the boring b******s on this they could of p***ed off.”
A third tweeted: “I’m missing Roisin and Joe already.”
Meanwhile a fourth begged: “Can someone explain why have we replaced the lovely Scottish couple with pretentious posh p****s who aren’t even funny. just noo f*** off!!”
Sisters from Edinburgh, a family from Surrey, friends from Glasgow, a married couple from the Cotswolds, and a mother and daughter-in-law from Yorkshire all joined the show in last night’s instalment.

EastEnders aired a much awaited ‘reunion’ between Max and Stacey in tonight’s episode – and although it wasn’t face to face, it doesn’t look like we’ll be waiting very long…
Max was left stunned when he heard Stacey’s voice on a phone call in tonight’s episode(Image: BBC)
The drama continued in tonight’s EastEnders, after last night’s cliff hanger saw Max Branning (Jake Wood) make his return to the show four years after his exit. It was revealed he was calling Zoe, with fans left wondering why. In tonight’s episode there connection was revealed, with a ‘reunion’ between Max and Stacey.
As Zoe lay fighting for her life in hospital, Stacey was the one in charge of her phone, and decided to give the “mystery man” a call, with no clue it was her former flame Max Branning.
Max Branning made a shock return to the soap last night (Image: CREDIT LINE:BBC/Jack Barns/Kieron McCarron)
Max then leant her £5,000 to assist her in tracking down her son, as a private investigator found out had been fostered.
She then went to visit the foster parents neighbour in a bid to get information, but as he attempted to sexually assault her, resulting in Zoe striking him with a lamp. He was rendered unconscious, with Zoe believing she had murdered him.
Max refused to become involved and a furious Zoe stormed out his car as she proceeded to ring Stacey Slater, although we have no idea what was said.
Cut back to the present day, and as Stacey held Zoe’s phone in the waiting room, she saw a number of messages from Max, telling Zoe he still had the necklace he bought her, and can also get money to her. Of course, Stacey had no idea who was on the other end, as she attempted to phone him.
Max and Stacey’s affair reveal in 2007 will go down as on of EastEnders’ most memorable moments
Obviously thinking it was Zoe on the other line, Max answered by saying: “Did you miss me? Is everything okay?”
With the bad signal, Stacey didn’t recognise Max’s voice, although he clearly recognised hers and she asked who he was and what he wanted.
Max stopped speaking as he was left in shock, and although he hasn’t reunited with Stacey face to face yet, it may not be long until they do as he ‘threatened’ to return to Walford in a later conversation with Zoe.
As Zoe rang Max at the end of the episode, he guessed she was in Walford, after hearing Stacey’s voice.
Zoe warned him to stay away, saying she would “end him” if he came anywhere near, but Max wasn’t having any of it, as he told Zoe he hates being told what to do.
We know Max is making a permanent return to the Square, and although Stacey is set to be leaving soon, we’re sure the soap won’t miss a chance to have them face to face once again.
They hooked up once again ten years later on Christmas Eve. They planned to run away together, but things took a tragic turn when Tanya turned up and Abi and Lauren fell off the roof of the Vic.
With their digital reunion today – how will Stacey react when she finds out who really was behind the phone?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
WRAPPED around the hoover, blocking the plughole and stuck on the shower wall – it feels like hair gets everywhere.
It’s normal to lose hair every day, but sometimes, the large clump in your hairbrush can feel worrying. But what is ‘normal’, and what could be causing your locks to fall out faster? We reveal the hidden health concerns, and how to fix them to stop the shed.

Eva Proudman, founder of www.ukhairconsultants.com, consultant trichologist and Fellow of the Institute of Trichologists UK, tells Sun Health: “Everyone is going to see some hair coming out of the head daily; this is part of the normal growing and shedding cycle.
“Around 50-150 hairs can be shed daily.
“If you wash every day, you will see less than if you leave it for three or four days, as the shed hair is held within the hair by a natural static charge that is broken when the hair is washed.”
While some hair loss is a natural part of getting older – for example, women tend to see thinning due to menopause – and genetic predisposition can lead to gradual thinning over time, any sudden changes warrant concern.
Eva, who sees many distressed patients in her clinics, says: “If you are noticing more hair in the brush, shower, on your clothes, or being picked up by your hoover, seek advice from a professional to identify and understand the cause.”
Our hair is not only part of our identity, but is “often said to be a reflection of your general health,” adds Eva.
“In many cases, these symptoms are linked to an underlying medical issue.”
From hormonal issues to autoimmune diseases, here are the causes worth considering…
Telogen effluvium can be triggered by several factors, from stress to viruses and inflammation, which disrupt the hair growth cycle.
7
Being iron deficient could be disrupting your hair growth cycleCredit: Getty
NHS GP reveals how she boosted her hair growth
Eva says: “Being deficient in iron and vitamin B12 can also cause fatigue, brain fog, aches and pains, and a general state of feeling unwell.
“This is especially true if you eat a limited diet, whether vegetarian, vegan or you are on GLP-1 ‘weight loss’ jabs, and exclude core food groups such as red meat and animal proteins.”
Trichologists use a blood test to ascertain stored levels before advising on dietary or supplementary changes.
“The results take time to show,” Eva notes. “It’s usually a minimum of four to six months.
“However, the relief as the hair shedding reduces also brings a reduction in stress and anxiety, which is supportive to both hair and general health.”
SLUGGISH GLAND
BOTH types of thyroid disease (overactive and underactive) affect the hair, says Eva.
She adds: “In my clinics, I see clients with excessive hair shedding, thinning and breakage that also present with other recognised signs and symptoms of thyroid disease.
7
The thyroid is a gland located in the neckCredit: Alamy
“It has an impact on female pattern hair loss (FPHL), whether it is hypothyroidism (underactive) or hyperthyroidism (overactive).” FPHL tends to affect the crown of the head.
An underactive thyroid can also cause brittle and fragile hair, while overactive can cause excessive shedding.
For the former, look out for symptoms such as “severe tiredness, weight gain and feeling cold”, says Eva, and for the latter, “you may find there’s weight loss, a feeling of ‘running on overdrive’, and poor sleep”.
The thyroid is a gland in the neck that produces two hormones (TSH and T4) vital for all the cells in the body to work efficiently.
Both types of thyroid disease, which can occur at any age, are treated with medication for life.
HORMONES GOING HAYWIRE
ONE in ten women have PCOS, a hormonal condition that causes the male hormones to be more dominant.
“PCOS is a very common condition in my clinics, particularly in younger ladies who see me due to hair thinning and loss, as well as a feeling of being able to see more scalp, with slow growth,” explains Eva.
7
PCOS, a hormonal condition which impacts one in ten women, could be the cause of hair thinning and lossCredit: Getty Images
Other signs and symptoms can include heavy and/or irregular periods, facial hair, weight gain, oily skin and scalp, and acne.
Eva says: “Insulin resistance or pre-diabetes is often seen in my clinics.
“But this is also a common standalone condition in the UK, causing the body to have an ineffective response to insulin.
“The increase of insulin in the bloodstream can stimulate the ovaries to produce more androgens, providing an environment that promotes thinning and shedding and an exacerbation of the FPHL.”
Eva adds: “This health condition should ideally be managed jointly between the trichologist and GP.
“Lifestyle changes definitely help; we work on diet and the uptake and storage of nutrients to give the correct levels for optimum hair health.”
Hair growth treatments, like Minoxidil, or Tricoactiv+, may also be used.
BODY’S BETRAYAL
IN the case of autoimmune conditions, the body attacks its own tissues, such as the hair follicles.
Frontal fibrosing alopecia is an autoimmune condition which sees the body attack the hair folliclesCredit: Getty
“This causes the hairline to recede with permanent loss, and so it’s important to get an early, accurate diagnosis as there are supportive treatments that can stabilise the condition to help to prevent further hair loss.”
FFA is a type of scarring autoimmune condition, meaning the hair will not grow back.
“It presents with a lack of follicular orifices, usually a smooth area of skin with a paler skin pigmentation,” says Eva.
Alopecia areata is a non-scarring autoimmune condition in which hair loss can come and go.
Eva says: “It causes patchy hair loss, usually in smooth circles. “In some cases, it develops into total hair loss on the scalp (alopecia totalis) or total hair loss all over the body (alopecia universalis).
“When the condition is active, you see clinical signs such as yellow dots on the scalp, black dots and exclamation hairs. When there are no signs like this, there can then be regrowth and recovery.
“Treatments for this type of condition range from scalp massage, stimulating oils, topical Minoxidil, topical steroids, steroid injections and JAK (Janus kinase) inhibitors.”
SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM
VIRUSES can cause hair and scalp issues, often a diffuse thinning, which is a uniform, widespread loss of density across the scalp.
This is a form of telogen effluvium – temporary hair loss that affects the hair growth cycle.
7
Covid could cause telogen effluvium – temporary hair lossCredit: Getty
Covid-19, for example, can potentially cause hair loss, though it might not appear until months later.
Eva says: “With a virus, it can feel like hair loss but may actually be a disruption to the growing and shedding cycle of the hair, called telogen effluvium.
“This condition can have multiple underlying causes and though alarming at first, it is generally short-lived in most circumstances.”
This type of hair loss tends to resolve on its own, but in more severe or prolonged cases, a doctor may recommend medications to support regrowth.
Eva says: “As with all hair-related problems, the sooner you seek professional advice and have an accurate diagnosis, the sooner you can start to treat and get the hair back to normal.
“Many of the products advertised online or across social media may not be relevant.
“Just because something says it works, doesn’t mean it does or will!
“The cost and stress of trying many different treatments can be avoided just by seeking the right advice.”
Love Is Blind UK fans have been left fuming with the second series, as they claim the contestants being allowed to post on social media has ‘given away’ who’s still together

Netflix has had fans hooked with the second series of Love Is Blind UK, with the second batch of episodes dropping earlier this week. Next week, fans will be able to watch the final two episodes, in which they’ll find out which couples survive the altar – but spoilers may have already given it away.
Next week, fans will witness Kal and Sarover, Megan and Kieran, Billy and Ashleigh and Jed and Bardha walk down the altar, but who will say I do? Well, fans think they’ve already worked it out from the stars’ social media – and they’re not happy.

Eagle eyed fans have spotted clues on couples Megan and Kieran and Jed and Bardha’s Instagram posts, hinting that they’re still together.
Fans have noticed Megan and Kieran have been posting pictures with the same backgrounds – with the two both taking a trip to Frankfurt.
“Megan and Kieran are very married, you can see from the photos/videos that the house is the same, i love them,” wrote one fan, with many others spotting the similar backgrounds in their pictures.
Elsewhere, another fan says to have left a comment on Sarover’s TikTok, saying she ‘deserves better’ than her partner Kal – with Sarover liking the comment.
“You’re literally somebody’s dream girl,” the comment read. “You deserve wayyyyy better than him.”

Aside from social media, next week’s teaser shows Bardha breaking down in tears during the hen do, revealing they had a huge argument. Later on in the trailer, Bardha can be seen breaking down in tears while her friend consoles her.
Fans think this is a huge giveaway the couple didn’t tie the knot, although it could just be a part of the edit to throw viewers off…
From the start of the series, fans had been issuing complaints that the participants had been given the freedom to post on social media while the show was airing, claiming it had ‘ruined the show’.
“They’re making it obvious they’re not married,” wrote one, while another said: “This season is actually good they need to stop spoiling it.”
“I’m already figuring out who’s married or not and it’s so annoying omg,” wrote another, as another fan penned: “I think they’re speaking to defend themselves but the reality is they have no control over how they are perceived by the public (no matter how many videos they make) – the producers do.”
Shila, who starred in Love Is Blind Germany also commented on social media, claiming: “And we weren’t even allowed to follow each other until the reunion aired.”
Viewers will have to wait until Wednesday to see what really happens…

Its most famous perk is free and fast deliveries and access to Prime Video – but there are lots of extra such as discounts on cinema trips.
You can pay for Prime Video-only for £5.99 a month – but this doesn’t include any of the other extras.
Exact amount of orders you need to make Prime worth it
To justify the £95 annual fee for Prime, you need to save at least that amount on delivery costs and other benefits.
How easy that will be depends on what services you use.
For instance, Prime Video only costs £71.88 a year, so you only need to save £23.12 in delivery fees all year, to make the upgrade to Prime worth it.
But if you’re just signing up for the free delivery, then it’s harder.
For non-members, Amazon charges different rates depending on your basket value and delivery speed.
Here’s what it really costs without Prime, and how often you’d need to order to break even.
Standard Delivery (3–5 days):
Amazon ‘hiking’ prices ahead of Prime Day after shoppers claim company ‘great savings’ aren’t real
Free if you spend £35 or more (or £10+ on books). If you spend less, charges are £4.99 for most items, but just £3.99 for book-only orders under £10.
To break even:
19 smaller orders per year at £4.99
24 book-only orders at £3.99
One-Day or Premium Delivery
Costs £4.99 per order for non-members
To break even:
Same-Day or Overnight Delivery
Costs £5.99 per order for non-members. Prime members get it free on orders over £20, or pay £1.99 for smaller baskets.
To break even:
16 orders per year at £5.99
Pickup Location (Locker or Amazon Hub)
Costs £2.99 per order for non-members, but free for Prime members.
To break even:
32 pickup deliveries per year
How to get a discount
Almost anyone can start with a 30-day free trial, which gives access to every Prime benefit.
If your last trial was over a year ago, you can usually sign up again.
To get the freebie, click “Try Prime” and follow the steps outlined. You’ll need to add a payment method, but you won’t be charged unless you stay on past the trial period.
Each adult in your household can do this separately, meaning couples can effectively get two months free between them as long as they use separate email accounts.
If you’re a student or aged 18 to 22, you can get a six-month free trial, followed by half-price Prime for up to four years or until you turn 23.
To claim, visit amazon.co.uk/joinstudent or amazon.co.uk/18-22 and upload proof of eligibility, such as a university email or government-issued ID.
However, students that cancel during the trial and come back later, don’t get another freebie, only the discounted rate.

Amazon Prime now includes over a dozen benefits. Here’s what you get, how to access each one, and what it’s worth.

COMMON PRIME DAY MISTAKES
Katy Phillips, senior brand and communication manager at idealo shares with Sun readers three common Prime Day mistakes
1. Buying something just because its discounted
An obvious rule that is often forgotten about is only buying something you actually need. Over half (59%) of those polled by idealo admitted that they ended up with a product they didn’t want after Prime Day last year.
Just because things are on sale, doesn’t mean you need to buy it! Keep a strict list if there are things you need. Nearly everything on the website will be marked as a ‘prime day deal’ regardless of whether the price has changed.
2. Not doing your research
A whopping 80% of Brits say they never price compare when shopping sale events but experts are urging everyone to spend more researching products before making a purchase.
Before you buy anything on Prime Day, make sure you compare prices elsewhere. Look on price comparison websites to see if it’s cheaper elsewhere and utilise price alerts where possible. These will send you notifications each time a product reaches its lowest price.
3. Not recognising scams
Each year a new scam will arrive just in time for Prime Day, ready to catch shoppers out. A common one includes hoax emails from the Amazon ‘Support Team’ were a new tactic used by criminals to steal people’s personal information.
If you see any emails or offers boasting £50 free to spend on Prime Day – they won’t be real. Make sure you’re on the real Amazon website also, as there may be links that take you to a site that looks similar to Amazon but isn’t the real thing.
13. Amazon Family sharing
Share Prime with one other adult and up to four children. You’ll each have your own account, but share perks like Prime Video, Reading, and Photos.
To set it up, go to “Accounts & Lists > Your Amazon Family” and add adult or child members.
Value: £95/year saved if splitting the cost of one full membership between two adults
14. Parental controls
Set up profiles for each child, limit screen time, and manage what they can access through the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard. Works across Fire tablets and Kindle devices.
To access, go to parents.amazon.co.uk.
15. Buy Now with Prime
Use Prime benefits with the “Buy Now” button by setting your default delivery address, payment method, and delivery speed in your purchase preferences.
Useful for quick checkouts, though not available to PO Boxes or some business addresses.
HOW TO CANCEL YOUR PRIME SUBSCRIPTION
To cancel, go to “Your Prime Membership”, select “Manage”, then “Update, Cancel and More”.
If you haven’t used any benefits, you’ll get a full refund. If you’ve only used delivery, you may be eligible for a partial refund.
If you signed up via the Android Amazon app, you’ll need to cancel through Google Subscriptions.
Earlier this year, the top 20 men’s and women’s players sent a letter to the four Grand Slams asking for a greater share of the revenue generated by the major tournaments.
“The US Open has made a deliberate and concerted effort to ensure double-digit percentage increases from 2024 in all rounds of all events for all players, while at the same time significantly increasing the percentage of prize money for athletes playing deep into the singles draws,” said a statement, external from the tournament organisers.
The pot of money on offer in men’s and women’s doubles at the US Open this year will be $4.78m (£3.6m) – an increase of 23% from 2024.
The tournament said that “for the first time ever” the winners of the men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles would get $1m (£749,000) in prize money per team.
The US Open will also be providing $5m (£3.7m) in support for costs, including travel and expenses, for players in the main draw, while the prize money for the men’s and women’s qualifying tournaments will rise by 10% to $8m (£6m).
The 2025 US Open at Flushing Meadows runs from 24 August until 7 September.
DESPITE being the only pair in an official relationship, Love Island’s Dejon Noel-Williams and Meg Moore found themselves brutally dumped at the end of last night’s instalment.
The former islanders returned to cast their votes about which couple was the least compatible between Dejon and Meg and Ty Isherwood and Angel Swift.

After receiving the most votes, the OG pair were forced to pack their bags and leave the villa – just a day before the all-important final.
Now that they’re out, the two have broken their silence and revealed their plan to “prove everyone wrong”.
When asked what was next for the pair, Meg, who recently sparked outrage, responded: “Proving to everyone we are actually going to stay together! Spending time together and introducing one another to family and friends.”
Dejon echoed these sentiments by adding: “I definitely want to have a conversation with her family, get to know them and have her meet my family so they can see the real us.
“A lot of the Islanders saw how genuine we were and I have no doubt it will be like that with our families.
“After that hopefully we can move in together as I can’t imagine not living with her.”
Dejon and Meg, who hit the rocks this week, have been the subject of plenty of criticism from their fellow islanders and viewers alike, with many questioning if Dejon was playing a game.
The two paired up from day one but found themselves at loggerheads due to Dejon’s flirty antics with numerous bombshells.
In last night’s episode, Maya Jama returned to the villa and revealed one couple would be dumped from the island and the decision was in the hand of some familiar faces.
One by one the ex-Islanders had their say, leaving the couples at risk less than impressed by their comments.
Love Island OG’s Meg and Dejon DUMPED by returning islanders
After much back and forth, Meg and Dejon received 10 votes, while Angel and Ty received 8 votes.
Fans were left elated at home as they flocked to X to share their excitement about Dejon and Meg leaving the ITV2 show.
One viewer wrote: “The timing for Megan and Dejon being dumped is so perfect.”
Another person gushed: “Finally Meg and Dejon are gone, I prayed for times like this! And that was such an epic way to dump them too, love a good revenge vote.”
Somebody else expressed: “Meg and Dejon finally off my screen and out of the villa! I love to see it.”
A fourth commented: “It’s been a long time coming, thank you ex-islanders for getting rid of Meg and Dejon.”
While a fifth added: “Meg and Dejon being dumped makes me feel like I’m going to have a great week.”
The savage dumping means there are four couples that are vying to win the series – Jamie and Yasmin, Cach and Toni, Harry and Shakira and Ty and Angel.
Maya will return to the villa in Majorca one last time to reveal the outcome of the public’s vote, with one pair being crowned champions of series 12 and walking away with £50,000.

There’s plenty of action happening on EastEnders next week according to new spoilers for the BBC soap.
More than one resident faces danger, and ongoing issues come between a couple. Another pair face drama as concern is sparked about a Walford legend.
Amid this there’s a comeback for one character ahead of another big return, while there’s also big decisions, risks taken and sad moments on the way. Starting off next week, Alfie Moon returns to the show after weeks away.
The character headed off to find his missing stepdaughter Zoe Slater who fled after revealing she was in trouble. Keeping this from his wife Kat Slater, with her cousin Stacey Slater doing the same, things get tense next week.
Kat slams Alfie for lying to her about where he’s been after his story about his brother Spencer was proven wrong. Alfie promises never to lie to her again, while he refuses to tell her the truth about what’s been going on.

Meanwhile it’s an emotional time for Stacey and her kids, as they celebrate tragic Martin Fowler’s birthday months on from his death. Elsewhere, there’s more drama for the Branning family as Oscar faces danger.

Lauren confronts her sibling and tells him he’s on his last warning. When Oscar is alone and he sees a hooded figure in the house he goes on the attack, not realising it’s Lauren’s partner Peter Beale – leading to Peter demanding he leaves.
The incident leads to Lauren trying to get her brother to open up, and he soon tells her more about his time in the youth offender’s centre. Determined to help Oscar, Lauren tries to get Peter to give him a chance leading to a huge row between them.

Harry Mitchell panics next week over the drugs hidden at Kojo Asare’s flat, with the latter’s brother George Knight almost finding the stash. Harry continues to work for Ravi Gulati, and soon Harry is forced to agree to let newcomer Okie conduct illegal business at Kojo’s flat.
Needing to distract George so he doesn’t find out, he enlists the help of his mother Nicola Mitchell who’s worried her son is in too deep with dangerous people. He refuses her help though, while Nicola offers George the job of Head of Security at Harry’s Barn.
Finally next week there’s concern for Patrick Trueman, ahead of the return of his son Anthony Trueman. Yolande worries her partner is gambling ahead of their wedding, and she tells him to stop.

Patrick is determined to carry on placing bets in secret, and when he wins big on the horses he convinces Howie Danes to hide it from Yolande. Amid his own money issues Howie is embarrassed that his son Denzel is relying on Kim Fox, Howie’s partner, when he needs money.
As Howie tries to get work, there’s drama at home when Yolande tells Patrick that the wedding is off if he places another bet. Soon Howie offers a solution and suggests he can place the bet for Patrick instead – but will he agree?

Spoilers for next week’s Coronation Street see drama, chaos and a new arrival, as well as an exit teased.
One character vows to leave amid a shock affair that threatens to tear a family apart. There’s a visit for one family from a relative, who makes their debut – played by an actress who has been on the ITV soap before.
Josephine Lloyd-Welcome will play Dev’s Aunty Rani, while she’s played different roles in the past on the ITV soap. More than one character takes revenge of sorts next week too, while there’s a discovery as we find out what Carla Connor has been hiding.
Let’s kick things off with the Websters, and an exit could be looming as an affair begins. With Kevin Webster still lying about his cancer results, making wife Abi Franklin believe he needs more treatment, his brother Carl Webster fights the urge to tell her the truth amid their secret feelings.
Abi does end up finding out the truth from someone else, confronting Kevin who admits his lie and explains he did it out of fear she would leave him for his brother Carl. He ends up pushing her straight into Carl’s arms though, and they begin to kiss passionately.

Despite their moment of intimacy, Carl tells Abi she would be right to stick with Kevin and that they should stay apart from now on. When Kevin sacks his brother from the garage after his recent dodgy dealings, Carl decides a fresh start is needed and he plans to move away from Weatherfield.
When Abi finds out she’s left gutted, but will Carl stay? And what will Abi do? Elsewhere, in the fallout to Lily Platt terrorising her cousin Sam Blakeman, he gets his own back next week with a fake story about a robbery at her home.
Lily’s left terrified unaware Sam has taken revenge after her recent behaviour. Soon, Sam is confiding in Toyah Battersby about his anxiety and his recent panic attacks – but will he tell his dad Nick?
There’s more drama for the Bailey family too, as James moves ahead with the adoption plans for his sister Dee-Dee’ daughter Laila, amid her torn over what she wants to do. Ed Bailey is keen for his kids to clear the air as they remain divided over Laila’s future, while James is plotting to leave – but will he take the baby with him?
Meanwhile Dee-Dee can’t help but smile when she bumps into newcomer Ollie who she recently met at the pub. There’s a new face on the show next week, as Dev’s aunt arrives ahead of his wedding to Bernie Winter.
When she shows up unannounced though the family panic, especially as Aunty Rani has offered to pay for the wedding – while Bernie and Dev’s son Aadi are still hiding the latter’s money issues. When Aunty Rani reveals her plan to create a spreadsheet detailing all the wedding costs so she can keep tabs on the amount she’s spent, Bernie and Aadi hide their dismay – but what are they up to?
There’s more trouble ahead for Todd Grimshaw and new partner Theo Silverton(Image: ITV)
There’s more trouble ahead for Todd Grimshaw and new partner Theo Silverton. Todd has to attend a restorative justice session with Noah, after he attacked him recently over his past with Theo.
Todd had seen him practicing conversion therapy on a member of the congregation and took action, after Noah pushed Theo into this years earlier. But there’s a bigger twist ahead when Noah seems to take payback, and maybe Theo’s wife Danielle does too.
It’s revealed they are dating, much to the horror of Todd and Theo given what Noah did. Theo ends up lashing out but accidentally hurts his son Miles leading to him being told he isn’t allowed to see his kids.
When Billy Mayhew tries to help with the situation it backfires, leaving Theo lashing out once more and telling lies – with Todd horrified. Finally next week, we learn what Carla was hiding from her partner Lisa Swain amid her turmoil over her past.
Skipping therapy, Lisa instead spends some time at her late wife Becky’s grave ahead of their anniversary. Carla supports Lisa, and as the day arrives Lisa is clearly struggling.
Carla and stepdaughter Betsy Swain are worried about Lisa, knowing she’s not doing well at all. Lisa insists she’s okay though and heads off for another therapy session.
She does open up to her therapist, with us finally realising what is bothering the detective. She confesses that she often wonders if there was more to Becky’s death than meets the eye. With questions continuing over whether Becky was corrupt or not, it’s clear she needs to know what really happened to Becky and what was going on with her wife before her death in order for her to move on.
Spoilers for next week’s Coronation Street see drama, chaos and a new arrival(Image: ITV)
She has no idea that Carla is on a mission to get her those answers, with her visiting Logan Radcliffe in prison who clearly knows something. Logan’s link to what happened to Becky was explored on the show earlier this year, while Betsy failed to get anything out of Logan.
Carla decides to try though, determined to help Lisa and get to the bottom of what really happened. Does she get anything out of Logan though? Later on the week, Lisa does some digging of her own.
She sneaks into DI Costello’s office and searches his email for any reference to Becky Swain. But will she find anything out and will she be caught? It seems she finds something out about Kit Green as she soon confronts her colleague.
She tells him she saw his name on the computer which stated that he had asked for access to Becky’s file. Having it out with Kit, it’s not revealed what he says or what this means, but she later tells Carla she cannot work with Kit anymore.
She slams the detective for going behind her back, unaware Carla, out of love, has done the same. But will Carla admit what she’s up to, and how will Lisa react?
NEW YORK — A Justice Department request to unseal grand jury transcripts in the prosecution of chronic sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein and his former girlfriend is unlikely to produce much, if anything, to satisfy the public’s appetite for new revelations about the financier’s crimes, former federal prosecutors say.
Attorney Sarah Krissoff, an assistant U.S. attorney in Manhattan from from 2008 to 2021, called the request in the prosecutions of Epstein and imprisoned British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell “a distraction.”
President Trump “is trying to present himself as if he’s doing something here and it really is nothing,” Krissoff told the Associated Press in a weekend interview.
Deputy Atty. Gen. Todd Blanche made the request Friday, asking judges to unseal transcripts from grand jury proceedings that resulted in indictments against Epstein and Maxwell, saying in a statement that “transparency to the American public is of the utmost importance to this Administration.”
The request came as the administration sought to contain the public outcry that followed its announcement that it would not be releasing additional files from the Epstein inquiry despite previously promising it would.
Epstein killed himself at age 66 in his federal jail cell in August 2019, a month after his arrest on sex trafficking charges, while Maxwell, 63, is serving a 20-year prison sentence imposed after her December 2021 sex trafficking conviction for luring girls to be sexually abused by Epstein.
Krissoff and Joshua Naftalis, a Manhattan federal prosecutor for 11 years before entering private practice in 2023, said grand jury presentations are purposely brief.
Naftalis said Southern District prosecutors present just enough to a grand jury to get an indictment, but “it’s not going to be everything the FBI and investigators have figured out about Maxwell and Epstein.”
“People want the entire file from however long. That’s just not what this is,” he said, estimating that the transcripts, at most, probably amount to a few hundred pages.
“It’s not going to be much,” Krissoff said, estimating the length at as little as 60 pages “because the Southern District of New York’s practice is to put as little information as possible into the grand jury.”
“They basically spoon-feed the indictment to the grand jury. That’s what we’re going to see,” she said. “I just think it’s not going to be that interesting. … I don’t think it’s going to be anything new.”
Both former prosecutors said that grand jury witnesses in Manhattan are usually federal agents summarizing their witness interviews.
That practice might conflict with the public perception of some state and federal grand jury proceedings, where witnesses likely to testify at a trial are brought before grand juries during lengthy proceedings prior to indictments or when grand juries are used as an investigatory tool.
In Manhattan, federal prosecutors “are trying to get a particular result so they present the case very narrowly and inform the grand jury what they want them to do,” Krissoff said.
Krissoff predicted that judges who presided over the Epstein and Maxwell cases would reject the government’s request.
With Maxwell, a petition is before the U.S. Supreme Court, so appeals have not been exhausted. With Epstein, the charges are related to the Maxwell case and the anonymity of scores of victims who have not gone public is at stake, although Blanche requested that victim identities be protected.
“This is not a 50-, 60-, 80-year-old case,” Krissoff noted. “There’s still someone in custody.”
She said that citing “public intrigue, interest and excitement” about a case was probably not enough to convince a judge to release the transcripts despite a 1997 ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that said judges have wide discretion and that public interest alone can justify releasing grand jury information.
Krissoff called it “mind-blowingly strange” that Justice Department officials in Washington are increasingly directly filing requests and arguments in the Southern District of New York, where the prosecutor’s office has long been labeled the “Sovereign District of New York” for its independence from outside influence.
“To have the attorney general and deputy attorney general meddling in an SDNY case is unheard of,” she said.
Cheryl Bader, a former federal prosecutor and Fordham Law School criminal law professor, said judges who presided over the Epstein and Maxwell cases may take weeks or months to rule.
“Especially here where the case involved witnesses or victims of sexual abuse, many of which are underage, the judge is going to be very cautious about what the judge releases,” she said.
Bader said she didn’t see the government’s quest aimed at satisfying the public’s desire to explore conspiracy theories “trumping — pardon the pun — the well-established notions of protecting the secrecy of the grand jury process.”
“I’m sure that all the line prosecutors who really sort of appreciate the secrecy and special relationship they have with the grand jury are not happy that DOJ is asking the court to release these transcripts,” she added.
Mitchell Epner, a former federal prosecutor now in private practice, called Trump’s comments and influence in the Epstein matter “unprecedented” and “extraordinarily unusual” because he is a sitting president.
He said it was not surprising that some former prosecutors are alarmed that the request to unseal the grand jury materials came two days after the firing of Manhattan Assistant U.S. Atty. Maurene Comey, who worked on the Epstein and Maxwell cases.
“If federal prosecutors have to worry about the professional consequences of refusing to go along with the political or personal agenda of powerful people, then we are in a very different place than I’ve understood the federal Department of Justice to be in over the last 30 years of my career,” he said.
Krissoff said the uncertain environment that has current prosecutors feeling unsettled is shared by government employees she speaks with at other agencies as part of her work in private practice.
“The thing I hear most often is this is a strange time. Things aren’t working the way we’re used to them working,” she said.
Neumeister writes for the Associated Press. AP writers Eric Tucker and Alanna Durkin Richer contributed to this report.
Fans will be able to figure that out for themselves this fall when the team debuts its “Charger Power” uniforms, one of two alternate looks revealed by the team Tuesday that will be worn during the 2025 season.
The Chargers also announced that they now have the option to wear powder blue pants with their regular jerseys, which are powder blue at home and white on the road.
The Charger Power look features yellowish gold jerseys with matching pants, to be worn with the regular white helmet.
“If you’re going to do gold, the way we did it with all gold, it looks amazing,” Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. said in a team news release. “It’s a great alternate!”
When the Bolts don the uniforms Oct. 19 against the Indianapolis Colts at SoFi Stadium, it will be the first time Chargers players have worn gold jerseys in a game. Fans, however, have had the opportunity to wear them in the past.
“Nike had previously done a retail version of the 2020 jerseys in gold,” A.G. Spanos, the Chargers’ president of business operations, said in a statement. “It sold quite well and had really good word of mouth. In fact, in my own household, it was my kids’ favorite uniform. It definitely appeals to the younger demographic.”
The look has already garnered plenty of online reactions. One longtime fan, who appreciated the nod to the yellow “Charger Power” T-shirts worn by Bolts faithful in the late 1970s and early 1980s, wrote on X that the uniforms are “simply beautiful.”
Retired NFL offensive lineman and current Amazon football analyst Andrew Whitworth spoke from experience after wearing similarly colored alternative uniforms on occasion during his time with the Rams.
“Been there done this,” Whitworth wrote on X. “Had me out there looking like Big Bird!”
The Minions, the cartoon characters from the “Despicable Me” film franchise, seemed to like the uniforms … though perhaps not for how they’ll look on an NFL field.
“the new recruits look so cool,” the fictional creatures wrote on X in response to a team post highlighting the Charger Power look.
Cam Jordan, a defensive end for the New Orleans Saints, had a more critical take, posting on X: “Gold!???? Nah that’s … French’s! That is mustard yellow…”
One X user compared the look to that of a popular novelty baseball team.
“We look like damn Savannah Bananas,” the fan wrote. “At least the Navy’s are [fire emoji].”
The latter part of that post referred to the team’s second set of alternate duds: the Super Chargers uniforms. They feature navy blue jerseys, pants and helmets and are meant as a “modern throwback” to the San Diego Chargers’ look from 1992 to 2006 — a span that included the organization’s only Super Bowl appearance, following the 1994 season.
“When you saw that jersey, more than likely you were in Qualcomm Stadium,” retired running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who played for the Chargers from 2001 to 2009, said in the team’s news release. “And, more than likely, if you were on the other team in that era you were leaving with a loss.”
The Super Chargers uniforms will debut during the team’s “Thursday Night Football” game against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 23, the same night the Chargers will be inducting former safety Rodney Harrison into the team’s Hall of Fame. The uniforms will be worn again Nov. 30 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Emmerdale spoilers have teased some major twists and turns from killer John Sugden potentially being rumbled by a surprising character, to Nate Robinson’s family being given shocking news

More than one character could be onto Emmerdale killer John Sugden next week, as spoilers tease an unlikely person could rumble the truth.
It comes as Nate Robinson’s ‘real killer’ is unmasked, when the police deliver some shocking news. His family learn who ‘really’ killed him, but it isn’t John who gets named by detectives or who even confesses to the crime.
There’s big twists ahead and it could lead to the downfall of John who sets a plan in motion. While it kicks off perfectly a couple of errors could unravel the whole thing, and see him exposed for two murders.
More is to be revealed, by spoilers detail some big twists in the fallout to John orchestrating framing newcomer Owen for Nate’s death. John accidentally killed Nate in September and dumped his body in the lake, with it only discovered weeks ago.
Amid his family coming to terms with his death and people being blamed, Owen, who was recently seen drugging Robert Sugden before trying to flee with him, makes a return to the village. Robert’s brother John turned him away then and saved Robert, and in upcoming scenes he’s shown kicking him out of the doctors surgery.
Emmerdale spoilers have teased some major twists and turns (Image: ITV)
But it seems upcoming scenes will show him setting up Owen, claiming he has confessed to Nate’s murder. This is delved into next week when detectives reveal they have a confession and even a motive, or a story of what happened between Owen and Nate.
In a dark twist though Owen is dead, with him believed to have taken his own life. Liam Cavanagh heads to the patient’s address and is concerned by a lack of response, with the police soon arriving and finding him dead.
When a detective finds a ‘suicide note’ on his laptop with a written confession to killing Nate, John’s plan seems to be working. So Has he struck again and killed Owen, before pinning Nate’s murder on him? More importantly, will the story be bought?
When Nate’s dad Cain Dingle and wife Tracy Robinson are told the news they are struggling to process the information. John then acts shocked about the ongoing events, and when Robert finds out he’s left shaken especially given what happened with Owen just weeks ago.
But all this does is raise his suspicions over John given the coincidence that Owen is apparently involved. He decides to investigate, especially when he learns John has been at Owen’s house right before he died.
Spoilers tease an unlikely person could rumble the truth(Image: ITV)
Robert sets up a meeting with Owen’s brother Steve, and is left reeling to uncover Owen ‘can’t have killed Nate’ as he had a tight alibi for the day he was killed. Robert heads to the police station, claiming to have new information about Nate’s murder – but what will he reveal and will John be exposed?
It might not be Robert who exposes his killer brother though, as Paddy Kirk could be about to rumble the truth in a surprising twist. We know that John has been struggling with what he did to Nate and has turned to a helpline numerous times.
He’s gotten close to spilling the beans and it’s been teased that he may break, and may give away what he’s done. This continues next week when he once again makes contact, but it seems he’s been messaging them and not actually speaking on the phone.
Next week, his volunteer suggests a call rather than a message, which would give away his voice. So when it’s revealed next week that Paddy is volunteering on a crisis helpline, surely this could be a major hint that he is the volunteer John is messaging, and if yes then surely it’s only a matter of time before Paddy hears John’s voice and realises what’s going on.
As for Robert next week, he’s still causing drama as he continues to plot behind Moira Dingle’s back after convincing her to sell him the farm – while in cahoots with Kim Tate. With Robert then planning to sign over to Kim, he’s stopped in his tracks by her desperation and senses she is hiding something.
Robert Sugden is onto John(Image: ITV)
Kim tells Joe Tate no one can find out their plans, so Robert does some digging to see what she’s after the land but soon Kim flees to Dubai. With it left in Joe’s hands, who goes to see Moira and reiterates Kim’s offer to buy the farm.
Moira has a difficult decision to make but what will she do and what is Kim up to? Elsewhere next week, Marlon Dingle is gutted when daughter April Windsor refuses to return to college and there’s drama for Mack Boyd and Charity Dingle.
When Mack finds out his wife has offered to be her granddaughter Sarah’s surrogate without even telling him he’s aghast, and it leads to an explosive argument. It’s Eric Pollard who’s told Mack all, leaving his grandson Jacob Gallagher furious.
Soon Eric tells him and Sarah he’s worried about her shortened life expectancy, and that’s why he’s sabotaging things. Mack and Charity can’t come to an agreement meanwhile, and soon he gives her an ultimatum: it’s the surrogacy or their marriage. So will the pair split for good?
Coronation Street spoilers for next week have teased big secrets under threat, a new romance ahead of one exit while another sad exit seems to have been confirmed too

Fans of Coronation Street have plenty to keep an eye on next week, with multiple characters featuring in drama.

They’re not the only one hiding something though, as Carla Connor, Kevin and Carl Webster and Theo Silverton are all sparking suspicion next week, amid Aadi Alahan’s new plot. To kick things off let’s discuss the exit that appears to be airing next week. Lou Michaelis has been locked up ever since she was exposed for attacking Gary Windass, ahead of the character leaving the show for good.
With Sally Metcalfe caring for her young daughters and teen son Brody also on the cobbles, Sally takes the girls to see their mum while their brother refuses to attend. Lou reveals she plans to plead not guilty and asks for Sally to fund her legal fees, leaving her shocked.
But later in the week, Sally and husband Tim break the news to Brody that Lou has pleaded guilty which means she will likely go to to prison. So she asks for Brody to visit her – but is this her final scenes? Elsewhere her daughters Joanie and Shanice spark concern with Sally and Tim with something they do after their mum’s news.
Coronation Street spoilers for next week have teased big secrets under threat(Image: ITV)
Another character soon leaving the show is Aadi. Next week he’s still keeping from Lauren the fact it was his drink spiked with LSD that she accidentally drank, leading to her facing death. Aadi is also acting weird after the shop robbery.
Soon there’s a kiss between Aadi and Lauren as a new romance forms, but when Aadi’s dad Dev Alahan judges Lauren’s past there’s drama. He does try to make amends though, while Aadi is hiding some worrying news when he tells stepmother Bernie Winter that the insurance company are not going to pay them after the robbery.
He reveals how he missed a payment and they won’t get a penny. Soon a confession from Dev leaves Bernie plotting ahead of their wedding, but what will she do? Carla is also hiding something next week amid her supporting her partner Lisa Swain.
After Lisa’s recent turmoil she began therapy sessions, forced to face her past. After the shop robbery we saw the police detective freeze instead of catching the thief.
Carla encourages Lisa to continue with the sessions next week, assuring her she’ll be back on top form in no time while Lisa isn’t so sure. But it’s soon clear Carla is hiding something when at work, Michael Bailey spots something on her laptop screen and is left very intrigued – so what is Carla up to?
Todd faces trouble next week(Image: ITV)
Theo is continuing to hide his sexuality from people next week despite his romance with Todd Grimshaw. He bumps into an old friend and makes out Todd is a woman, but there’s more trouble ahead when Noah heads back to the cobbles.
Theo previously revealed Noah was involved in the conversion therapy Theo was forced to endure when he was younger. Noah tells Theo to attend a meeting with him to “save his soul”, and the next day Noah is caught practising conversion therapy on a member of his congregation.
When Todd lashes out the incident is caught on camera and he’s taken in for questioning by the police. Accused of assault, Todd fears the worst but Theo does his best to support him.
Elsewhere, Debbie Webster is still coming to terms with living with dementia, and her change in behaviour continues to alarm her loved ones. When she snaps at a guest at her hotel, she’s filmed by them – only for Ryan Connor to step in to help his friend.
He’s reeling though when Debbie thanks him by kissing him on the lips. Ryan reveals all to Debbie’s partner Ronnie Bailey, leaving him reeling while Debbie is oblivious. Ryan warns Debbie that if it had been anyone else they might not have been so understanding.

Meanwhile, Debbie finds out her brother Carl is in trouble next week and asks how much money he needs. Soon his brother Kevin spots his secret meetings with Fiona, and soon all becomes clear about his schemes and his dodgy dealings at the garage.
When a car is nicked, Kevin tries to stop it but feels unwell. He’s taken to hospital and soon tells Carl he’s fine, only to tell his sibling he knows what’s gone on – leading to them both facing tough questions.
Carl reveals he knows Kevin has lied about his cancer, but will his wife Abi find out the truth? Finally next week, teen Sam Blakeman continues to feel traumatised after recent events with villain Mick – and it soon leads to a row with his cousin Lily Platt when she admits she locked him out of the classroom on purpose.

Toni arrived as an early bombshellCredit: Eroteme
Though there’s no evidence of any producer meddling, one armchair sleuth took to Reddit last night to share their theory with other viewers.
They outlined five points which they felt backed up their viewpoint.
The first of which focused on Harrison’s arrival and his opening dates with Malisha and Toni.
Footballer Harrison is based in Miami, while Toni works in Vegas, and the viewer felt the US link gave her an unfair advantage when she was ultimately picked to partner him.
Next, they highlighted Harrison and Toni being sent on the only date of the series so far before a public vote, claiming it was a method of boosting interest in them.
Thirdly, they pointed out a change to the dumping process after the public voted for their least favourite Islanders.
They wrote: “We know Love Islandloves making the islanders decide the bottom 3 and if they did Toni would likely have been dumped, instead they go by straight votes and Megan is dumped despite having a strong connection in there.”
The fan alluded to more ‘meddling’ in their fourth point, claiming that by choosing Ben to go first in Sunday’s recoupling it prevented Harrison from picking Helena and leaving Toni single and at risk.
Finally, they flagged last night’s dumping and the fact Islanders weren’t given the chance to stand up for the remaining singletons, which would likely have seen Ben couple with Alima, potentially leading to a reshuffle that would’ve put Toni at risk.
Last night’s scenes played out with newbies Ryan and Billykiss being told to stand in front of their co-stars
Two dumped Love Islanders revealed as villa stars break down in tears over shock exit
The boys were told to stand up if they’d like to recouple with Billykiss.
Conor stood up and said their date went really well and he’d be doing himself a disservice to not explore their connection.
Alima, left uncoupled, then took Billykiss’s place at the front.
The girls then had to stand up if they’d like to recouple with new bombshell Ryan, but none did so.
Emmerdale fans will see the arrivals of two new characters next week, both causing trouble on the ITV soap, with danger, betrayals, discoveries and secrets under threat
00:01, 24 Jun 2025Updated 00:02, 24 Jun 2025
There’s plenty of carnage coming up on Emmerdale, with two new faces, secrets under wraps and a brutal attack(Image: ITV)
There’s plenty of carnage coming up on Emmerdale, with two new faces, secrets under wraps and a brutal attack.
One iconic character faces death after a violent attack, with him rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition. Someone is double crossed, and it could have serious repercussions.
A character is nervous over their recent near-kiss with someone else as he fears it could be exposed, while a feud rumbles on too. Kicking things off, there’s a horrifying twist for Paddy Kirk next week.
Paddy, who has been on the soap for decades, is brutally attacked and left lifeless, as his dad Bear races to save him. Amid a time of conflict between the father and son, Bear battles to save his son’s life when the vet is injured badly by a dog.
Paddy is trying to rescue a sheep caught in the fence on the land of new farmer Celia, only to be caught and bitten by an aggressive dog. Bear manages to save him, but he’s left traumatised by the incident. As Paddy’s loved ones gather at the hospital, he emerges from surgery.
Emmerdale fans will see the arrivals of two new characters next week(Image: ITV)
But he and wife Mandy Dingle are reeling when Bear launches a verbal attack on his son’s character. Taking the words to heart, a heartbroken Paddy sobs silently before struggling in the fallout. Soon he heads for Celia’s farm to confront her about the attack but it doesn’t go well.
He blames Bear for this and the pair are further apart than ever before. Telling his dad to move out, he’s clear he wants nothing to do with him but will this be it for them amid Bear’s own mystery worrying storyline?
Celia isn’t the only new arrival to the show next week, as newcomer Ray, a new villain, also makes his mark. As Ross Barton and his brother Lewis Barton’s secret weed hustle continues, Mack Boyd makes a horrifying decision amid his own involvement in the plot.
With Moira Dingle still facing financial issues and struggling to keep the farm, with Mack still thinking he’s to blame, they consider whether to sell the weed to a dealer for a huge sum of money. When Lewis refuses, Mack goes behind their backs and agrees to sell up to Ray.
Ray, a new villain, also makes his mark(Image: ITV)
Lewis assumes his brother Ross has betrayed him and their relationship falls apart as Mack feels guilty over what he’s done. Mack is left desperate though without the brothers on board, as he struggles to meet the dealer’s demands.
So when all the plants go missing from the barn, Ross accuses Mack of stealing it and selling it all to Ray but he protests his innocence. So who has taken the weed and where is it now?
Vinny Dingle also faces turmoil next week after he recently tried to kiss his pal Kammy Hadiq. While Kammy has said he won’t tell anyone including Vinny’s fiancée Gabby Thomas, Vinny can’t help but fear it will be exposed.
He’s avoiding his pal so when Gabby invites Kammy to their engagement party, Vinny is in turmoil. Finally next week Sarah Sugden supports her grieving grandfather Cain Dingle who’s upset when the whole family is barred from his son Nate Robinson’s funeral by Tracy.
Rather than the classic ’round the waist’ belt that most plane seats provide, flight attendants are treated to a much more secure ‘X’ across the body design
But why do flight attendants have different seat belts?(Image: Getty Images)
A flight attendant has explained why they have to wear different seatbelts from paying customers.
If you’ve ever been on a commercial flight and torn yourself away from the in-flight entertainment for a moment, you may have noticed that the cabin crew strap themselves into their seats with different belts.
Rather than the classic ’round the waist’ belt that most plane seats provide, flight attendants are treated to a much more secure ‘X’ across the body design.
A Reddit user recently visited the ‘NoStupidQuestions’ subreddit to ask: “Why do flight attendants have the cross body ‘X’ seat belt on their seats, whereas passengers only get the horizontal ones across the waist?”
Flight attendants weighed in on the topic(Image: Getty Images/iStockphoto)
A former flight attendant kindly rode in to explain that the difference isn’t because customers are “too stupid” to use anything more complex than the passenger belts provided, but because of the way the crew’s seats are installed.
The aviator said that flight attendants’ seats were not bolted to the aircraft in the same way as passengers’ seats, meaning they moved around far more during take-off and landing.
“We needed the extra harness because that thing was bouncy as h**l on a normal takeoff and landing,” they wrote.
The cabin crew member went on to argue that passengers should welcome the fact that flight attendants seem to have a little extra security, as it’s they who are on hand to guide customers to safety in the event of an emergency.
According to Aerosavvy.com, the extra strap is there to work in the same way as the seat in front does for passengers. If a plane were to crash or stop suddenly, the seat in front would stop a passenger from being chucked forward.
Given that flight attendants do not have the same setup, the extra strap is on hand. Marina Efthymiou, an aviation expert, told Metro that passengers “wouldn’t keep their seatbelts on if they were like the ones cabin crew wear”.
The lives of flights attendants, and the curious world of planes in general, is one that appears to be endlessly fascinating for those who haven’t glimpsed behind the curtain.
Recently a cabin crew member highlighted the “secret button” in aeroplane armrests that is a game-changing convenience for those in the aisle seat.
The little-known – or often forgotten – button is located on the underside or side of the aisle armrest and makes it easier to move around onboard. Fly Arna – Armenia’s national airline and well-known low-cost carrier – shared a video on its TikTok account of one of its cabin crew members revealing little-known features on its aircrafts.
The video has been viewed over 100,000 times with many excited over the “secret button” reveal. Seated in an aisle seat of a Fly Arnra carrier, the cabin crew member in the video shows that there is a “secret button” in the armrest. Pressing the button allows passengers to lift the aisle seat armrest, making it easier for everyone in the row to exit the aisle.

Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts
IF you’ve ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you’ll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.
Aldi’s speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.
It’s all part of Aldi’s plan to be as efficient as possible – and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.
Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.
It also uses “shelf-ready” packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.

There’s huge scenes ahead on Emmerdale next week, with possibly two deaths being exposed.
As a body is found in the lake, there’s fears it’s Anthony Fox whose murder is about to come to light. But in a dramatic turn of events, Nate Robinson’s family finally learn he’s dead.
News of a body being found leads to those who covered up Anthony’s demise panicking, and soon his killer Ruby Miligan, his daughter who he sexually abused as a teenager, heads to the police station. She begins to make her killer confession, first telling them about the abuse she was subjected to.
As her loved ones desperately try to stop what it already in motion, the character prepares to reveal what she did and keep everyone else out of it. The interview is halted by the arrival of a solicitor just as Ruby is explaining her dad’s vanishing act, and we learn said solicitor has a plan.
So will Ruby get to confess all and will she be locked up? What exactly does her husband Caleb Miligan have up his sleeve? OF course what they are soon to find out is that the body is not Anthony’s, and is in fact Caleb’s nephew Nate.

As it emerges he’s been in the lake for some time and that it’s murder, suspects begin to emerge. Cain Dingle is blindsided about news of his missing son’s death, with Nate’s wife Tracy Robinson also heartbroken.
Cain is left in the frame and faces tough questions from the police as Nate’s final moments are recounted. His own family members begin to question whether he might be guilty, with Tracy also airing her own suspicions – unaware John Sugden is the real killer.
Later, Cain is left reeling when DC Cole arrives and reveals there’s been a shock development in Nate’s case. But what has been revealed and who else might be blamed?
Elsewhere next week, there’s horror for Eric Pollard who suffers a fall as his health deteriorates amid his Parkinson’s disease battle. With no one coming to his aid initially he’s eventually rushed to hospital where he reveals he doesn’t remember anything.
He’s urged to get some help at home but this only leaves Pollard feeling patronised, with him refusing to make changes. But when Eric suffers yet another fall, Kerry Wyatt makes a call to a home-help company, and soon a resolution is met.

There’s also a big decision made by teen April Windsor, who struggles with her exams. Soon she’s given a trial shift for a summer job at Take A Vow, but at a Christening she’s left panicked when she recognises the baby’s father.
Getting flashbacks to her time on the streets, she recalls that the man was someone that threatened to urinate on her – but will she confront him? Also in the village Dawn Taylor pitches herself to Belle as a new business partner, but she’s torn when Belle makes her swear Take A Vow will never take money from Joe Tate.
Soon Joe offers her some money, having already suggested they take over Home Farm weddings and not include Take A Vow. Will Dawn use Joe’s money though? Finally next week, Sarah Sugden worries how she will fund her planned IVF as she continues her plans to have a baby despite her cancer diagnosis.
Israel launched a campaign against former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger after he blamed the Israelis for the breakdown of his mission to achieve an interim agreement with Egypt following the 1973 war, according to declassified British documents
The documents, unearthed by MEMO in the British National Archives, showed that the Israeli government lobbied US Congressmen to turn American opinion against Kissinger, accusing him of “delivering” Israel to Egypt and “humiliating” Israeli ministers.
In late March 1975, Kissinger’s shuttle diplomacy between Israel and Egypt collapsed. Although he initially avoided publicly assigning blame, he privately told his UK counterpart, James Callaghan, that Israeli leaders were primarily responsible. Kissinger argued that the Israelis had “locked themselves into an inflexible position on non-belligerency,” that “wouldn’t allow them to escape”. He also informed his British counterpart that he “warned the Israelis once the step-by-step process had broken down the situation might change rapidly to their disadvantage”.
Egypt publicly declared that Kissinger’s approach had failed due to Israeli intransigence, specifically their insistence on non-belligerency, which Egypt rejected before a comprehensive settlement involving all aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflict, including the Palestinian issue, is reached.
Following the breakdown, the administration of President Gerald Ford began a comprehensive reassessment of its Middle East policy. The US National Security Council (NSC) informed the British embassy that the review “will be far reaching and will include an examination of military and economic assistance to Israel” and focusing on “principles underlying US policy rather than on tactical considerations”.
Although the Ford Administration avoided publicly blaming either party, US media reports suggested that Kissinger viewed Israel as primarily responsible for the failure. This impression was reinforced when it was revealed that President Ford had sent a strongly worded letter to Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, criticising Israel’s inflexibility before the breakdown of the negotiations.
British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) files show that the US NSC told British Ambassador Peter Ramsbotham “in confidence” that Ford’s message to Rabin had been “very tough” and had referred critically to Israeli stubbornness during the negotiations.
Ramsbotham reported that while the Israeli embassy denied “in the strongest possible terms” any responsibility for the failed talks, support for Israel in the US “will come under increasing critical scrutiny.”
Relations between Kissinger and Israel deteriorated further. British Ambassador to Israel William B. J. Ledwidge observed increasing distrust toward Kissinger in the Israeli press, a sentiment he believed was encouraged by Israeli leaders. Ledwidge reported the relations were “in the process of becoming distinctly worse than the relations between Israel and the United States administration”. He assessed that this was “clearly inspired by briefing from Israel’s leaders”.
In a highly secret report, Ledwidge noted that the Israelis were “making no secret of the fact that Kissinger is angry with them for their stubbornness in the recent negotiations and President Ford agrees with him”.
After talking to “enough of well-informed” Israelis, Ledwidge concluded that Israel’s leaders were “worried by the strength of the disapproval which is being expressed by Washington”. “In the present situation the fact of Kissinger’s anger with Israel is perhaps more important than the justice of accusations against them”, the ambassador added.
Leon Dulzin, then treasurer of the Jewish Agency and a Likud leader, also complained to the ambassador that there as “very little negotiation” during Kissinger’s shuttle accusing the top US diplomat of aiming at “persuading the Israelis to give Sadat what he wanted”. Dulzin, a former Israeli cabinet minister and trusted by leading Zionists overseas, added that Kissinger “had never really accepted the proposition that Israel was entitled to any price in return beyond a continuation of American economic and military aid and general goodwill”.

An Israeli source close to Rabin told the ambassador that the Israeli prime minister believed that Kissinger “had tried to deliver the Israelis to Sadat” and he (Kissinger) “had become angry when he found that it would not work”. Rabin came to the conclusion that “he only wished he could talk directly to the Egyptians” without Kissinger’s go-between.
At a dinner with visiting US Congressmen, Shimon Peres, then Israel’s defense minister, accused Kissinger of “humiliating” him, complaining that he played role in delaying his important visit to the US. Peres asked the Congressmen to “say as much (about Kissinger claimed behaviour) when they returned to Washington”.
Another player was Yehoshua Rabinowitz, then Israeli minister of finance who was also informed by Washington that he must postpone his visit to discuss economic aid yet once more. Sources told the UK ambassador that Rabinowitz understood that he will not be received until the re-assessment of American Middle East policy was completed. Rabinowitz detected the “hand of Kissinger in the repeated delays of his mission”, the sources said.
The dispatches from the British embassy in Tell Aviv indicated that the Israelis were talking “as if they were convinced that Kissinger himself is the chief organiser of the present wave of American displeasure which has reached such heights”.
Senior official in Israeli Foreign Ministry Yeshayahu Anug strongly criticised Kissinger in a conversation with the UK ambassador. He said “for the first time we saw him (Kissinger) behaving like a Jew”. Anug argued that when the shuttle went wrong, Kissinger “behaved as if he had been personally betrayed by the Israelis and lost his cool completely”.
In his assessment, the ambassador concluded that many Israelis “feel that the Zionist State does indeed irritate Kissinger”.
The documents also reveal that some Israeli figures questioned Kissinger’s personal attitude toward their country. According to Ledwidge, the Israelis who knew Kissinger believed when Israel was founded in 1948, he regarded it as “an aberration that could not be last”. They acknowledged that he changed his mind later. But Kissinger had been criticised because since the 1967 war, he has always been convinced that Israel “would be obliged to evacuate all the territories she had occupied as a result of the pressure of international opinion”.
An account of a secret briefing Kissinger gave to Jewish leaders in December 1973 showed him making harsh comments about Israel’s military performance during the Yom Kippur War and emphasising the limits of US support.
According to this account, shown to the British ambassador by an Israeli diplomatic official “in strict confidence”, Kissinger “was brutally unsympathetic to Israel throughout his briefing”. He was quoted as saying “Israel had lost the Yom Kippur war strategically and that even if she had surrounded and defeated the Third Egyptian Army, she would not have reversed the verdict”.
“If there were another war, the US might not be able, even if she were willing; to mount an airlift and Israel might fare worse than she had in 1973”. He even accused Israelis of “misleading the Americans about their military plans during the latter part of the war”.
In a separate dispatch, the British embassy in Washington reported that Kissinger “has suspected for months that the Israelis were casting him for the role of “fall guy”. The British ambassador to Tel Aviv commented that “no doubt the Israelis have had for a long time past a contingency plan for doing precisely this’ and perhaps they “have now reached the point of putting it into effect”.
British diplomats in London concluded that while the Israelis had reasons to criticise Kissinger, they were mistaken to view his actions as motivated by personal animosity. Instead, they believed that Kissinger’s pressure aimed to avoid another conflict that “would ultimately damage Israel and the West more than the Arabs”. As seen by Michel S Weir, Assistant Under-Secretary and director of Middle East and North Africa, Israel considered the pursuit of this major objective and any final settlement, which would involve it giving up most of the foreign territory she is occupying, as “personal spite”. This was considered as a “measure of the chasm that separates Israeli thinking from that of the outside world”. In as much as the Israelis had accepted the idea of withdrawal, Kissinger was “surely entitled to feel betrayed, Weir concluded.
