Strictly Come Dancing star Tess Daly has been part of the BBC show since it began back in 2004 when she fronted the programme with Bruce Forsyth.
For the past 21 years, BBC viewers have seen presenter Tess Daly welcome a range of well-known celebrities onto the dancefloor as they try to raise the Glitterball on Strictly Come Dancing.
Although the current series is in full swing, with Stefan Dennis being forced to withdraw in the week, the beloved programme first began back in 2004, when Tess became pregnant with her first child.
However, Tess confessed that she didn’t tell bosses about her pregnancy over fears they wouldn’t want her fronting the show, although once they knew Tess shared that no one minded and all was fine.
However, the 56-year-old sadly never got to introduce her children to her father, Vivian, as he sadly died the year before of emphysema, 18 days after her wedding to Vernon.
In the past, she’s opened up about losing her father and the one thing she regrets following his death.
Back in 2010, the Strictly star told The Guardian how much she misses him, as he was a strong role model in her life.
She said: “The man by whom I judged all others, really, because he was such an honourable and moral person who would never harm another being.
“Just a positive, outgoing… a great guy really and a brilliant father and I do really wish he could have met his grandchildren. That’s my greatest regret, that he never met his grandchildren.”
Similarly, five years ago when speaking to the Daily Mail, she emphasised her regret over her dad not meeting her children, along with him not getting the chance to see her role on Strictly.
She commented: “He would have been so proud. He loved Bruce Forsyth. He adored ballroom, all of it.”
BBC viewers saw Tess and Bruce front the show for a decade before he stepped down from the show in 2014, admitting it was the ‘right time’. Bruce tragically passed away in 2017 aged 89.
Claudia Winkleman was announced as his replacement after hosting the spin-off show It Takes Two.
She’s been part of the show ever since, often seen speaking to the celebrities after their routines in the ‘Clauditorium’
Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Ella Morgan‘s raw confession came after the Celebs Go Dating alum posted a series of cryptic messages to her Stories, including one which read: “Remember who checks on you when you get a little quiet.
“Those are your people.”
Now Ella, who saw sparks fly with JJ Slater on MAFS as the show’s first transgender contestant back in 2023, has pleaded for fans to “be kind”
The 31-year-old bravely posted an image which showed her in tears in her car.
In a far cry from her ordinarily glam look, Ella was seen donning a pink sports top and going make-up free, brushing her hair into an up-do.
In a lengthy text post uploaded underneath the sad snap she wrote: “Sometimes a smile hides a lot.
“I can be the loudest most outgoing person in the room but inside it’s a very different story.
“Maybe I’ll regret posting this story because I care what others think.
“But I never talk or post about my feelings or when I’m not in a good place.

How to get help
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:
“And social media a lot of the time gives off the impression that life is amazing but the truth is, it isn’t always.”
Ella then told how “constant trolling” and negativity around the trans community, as well as feeling run down and unwell, had also taken its toll.
She also confessed the “pressure of being a role model” felt like a “huge weight.”
In a heartbreaking conclusion Ella put: “Sometimes I feel like a failure and being sent horrible DMs doesn’t help when I’m having a bad day already.
“I took this picture this morning so I can look back when I’m in a better place and remind me how far I’ve come. Not for attention.
“Sometimes the feelings of failure and loneliness and negativity get the better of you and override the positive feelings.
“But I know tomorrow is a new day and hopefully it’ll be an easier one.
“Thank you for you continued support. Please be kind to one another.”
Ella then posted a snapshot of her dog, who she hailed her “best friend.”
Neil Atkinson, who owns Luxury Group Stay, has identified the four items that travellers consistently regret packing – and they may be sitting in your suitcase right now
It’s easy to mispack for a holiday(Image: Getty Images/Stock Image)
A travel expert has urged holidaymakers to stop packing items that they’re bound to regret bringing with them.
Neil Atkinson, who owns Luxury Group Stay, has identified the four items that travellers consistently regret packing – and they may be sitting in your suitcase right now. One of the biggest mistakes travellers make is bringing valuable jewellery on holiday. The risk of loss, theft, or damage simply isn’t worth the worry it creates.
“I’ve heard countless stories of holiday goers losing precious items or spending half their holiday anxious about keeping them safe,” Neil said.
Instead, he recommends opting for versatile, inexpensive accessories that can dress up multiple outfits without the stress. “Your holiday should be about relaxation, not constantly checking your hotel safe,” he added.
Overpacking shoes is another common mistake that wastes valuable suitcase space and adds unnecessary weight to your luggage. Neil suggests limiting yourself to three pairs maximum: comfortable walking shoes, smart casual options, and perhaps flip-flops or sandals for the pool.
“People pack a different pair of shoes for every possible scenario, but the reality is you’ll likely rotate between the same two pairs,” Neil said. “Shoes are bulky and heavy – they’re taking up room you could use for things you’ll actually need.”
For longer trips, choose neutral colours that work with multiple outfits to maximise versatility whilst minimising luggage bulk. Packing full-sized shampoo bottles, conditioners, and body wash is not only impractical but also risks messy spills in your luggage.
Airport liquid restrictions mean these items often need to be checked anyway, adding hassle to your journey. This approach not only saves space but also leaves room in your case for souvenirs on the return journey.
“Travel-sized versions exist for a reason,” Neil said. “Or better yet, many destinations have shops where you can pick up basics when you arrive. There’s nothing worse than opening your suitcase to find your favourite moisturiser has leaked all over your clothes.”
One item that consistently tops the regret list is a hairdryer – something most accommodations already provide.
“The vast majority of hotels, B&Bs, and holiday rentals come equipped with hairdryers,” Neil said. “There’s really no need to pack one unless you’re camping.”
Hairdryers are bulky, heavy, and take up significant space that could be better used for other essentials.
“If you’re worried about the quality, check with your accommodation beforehand,” Neil advised. “But in my experience, it’s one item you can confidently leave at home.”
The psychology behind overpacking often stems from anxiety about being caught unprepared, but Neil insists that travelling lighter actually improves the holiday experience.
“When you’re not weighed down by unnecessary items, you feel freer and more relaxed from the moment you leave home,” he said.
If you claim Social Security early, you could find yourself wishing you had made a different choice as you cope with smaller monthly benefits.
You’ll make many decisions when preparing for retirement. Choosing when to file for Social Security benefits is one of the most important of those choices.
You have a long period when you could file for benefits, as you can claim as early as 62, but can also wait and increase the amount of your benefits until age 70. Picking the right moment within that eight-year timespan helps you maximize your income and build a more secure retirement.
For many people, an early claim seems like the obvious answer since you can start collecting right away and enjoying the benefits you’ve worked hard to earn all your life. In reality, though, claiming at a young age — and especially before your designated full retirement age — could be something you end up really regretting.
Here’s why.
An early claim limits your ability to work
If you start receiving Social Security before your designated full retirement age (FRA), your decision could impact your ability to work because when you earn too much before FRA, your benefit checks are reduced or even eliminated.
For example, in 2025, if you won’t reach FRA during the entire year, then once you earn more than $23,400, you’ll lose $1 in benefits for every $2 earned above that limit. This could quickly lead to your Social Security checks disappearing entirely, since the Social Security Administration withholds full checks when you go above the limit.
This rule prevents double-dipping of benefits and a paycheck in the years before you reach FRA, and it can lead to a lot of hassle if you’re trying to track earnings to avoid losing benefits.
Eventually, you do get credit if checks are withheld, as your benefit is recalculated at your full retirement age to account for the missed money — but the process of slowly recovering the benefits you missed out on due to exceeding the work limits can be very frustrating.
You’ll take a big benefits cut that is permanent
Since you have an eight-year window to claim Social Security, there are rules in place to try to equalize out lifetime benefits so you get the same amount of money no matter when you claim.
One of those rules is that if you claim Social Security benefits before FRA, benefits are reduced by early filing penalties. But if you wait until after FRA, benefits are increased due to delayed retirement credits.
The penalties and credits apply monthly, as you’ll lose 5/9 of 1% of your standard benefit for each of the first 36 months you receive a check ahead of your FRA. If you claim even sooner, you lose an additional 5/12 of 1% for any of the prior months.
The monthly penalties add up to an annual 6.7% reduction from your standard benefit for years one, two, and three. For years four and five when you were collecting early Social Security benefits, the reduction in benefits is 5% annually. This means that a claim at 62 instead of at an FRA of 67 results in a 30% cut to benefits overall. That cut is permanent, and benefits will always be 30% smaller than they would have been had you waited to claim.
If you delayed beyond FRA until 70 instead, though, you’d have increased your benefits by 2/3 of 1% or 8% per year and received more benefits instead of smaller checks.
You’ll shrink your survivor benefits
You are not the only one who could regret your early Social Security claim. Your spouse could as well. When you die, your spouse either gets to keep receiving their own benefit or keep receiving yours. If you were the higher earner in your family and your Social Security benefit is a lot bigger, then keeping your benefit would be better for your surviving spouse.
The problem is, if you claimed Social Security ahead of schedule, you’d have shrunk your benefit — so your surviving spouse would be left with a smaller survivor benefit than they could have had. Since living on a single Social Security check instead of two is hard, your spouse could end up really wishing you hadn’t claimed early.
You stand a good chance of missing out on lifetime income
Finally, research has shown that around 7 in 10 retirees would find themselves with more lifetime income if they delay benefits until 70 instead of claiming at a younger age. If your goal is to maximize the lifetime income Social Security offers so you don’t have to rely as much on your 401(k) or other retirement plans, then you’ll want to avoid shrinking your lifetime income.
That’s especially true as Social Security is a reliable source of funds since there are cost-of-living adjustments built in that help you avoid losing buying power due to inflation.
Ultimately, an early claim is simply not the right option for many. When you are making your retirement plans, think seriously about whether you should prepare to try to put off your Social Security claim. If so, have a plan to do that, such as living on retirement savings until the day comes when you can claim a large benefit and set yourself and your spouse up for a more secure future.
A charter plane is expected to repatriate about 300 South Korean workers who were among 475 arrested during a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid at a construction site for an electric vehicle battery plant being built in Ellabell, Georgia. Photo by Erik S. Lesser/EPA
Sept. 14 (UPI) — The United States’ second-most senior diplomat expressed regret Sunday over the recent immigration raid at a Hyundai car battery plant in Georgia.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met Sunday with First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Yoon-joo to discuss cooperation in the continued efforts to resolve the diplomatic spat stemming from the raid, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, Park highlighted the “uncomfortable treatment” faced by hundreds of South Korean nationals who were detained and deported after the raid and the shock felt across the country at the incident.
“Deputy Secretary Landau expressed deep regret over the incident and proposed using it as a turning point to improve the [visa] system and strengthen the [Republic of Korea-United States] relationship,” the foreign ministry said. Landau was also said to have recognized the significant contributions and investments made by Korean companies for the “revitalization of the U.S. economy and manufacturing industry.”
He added that President Donald Trump is also “highly concerned” about this issue, and that he will ensure that Korean workers who return to the United States will not difficulty with reentering, South Korean officials said.
“The United States welcomes and encourages foreign investment in our country and therefore logically welcomes and encourages the personnel necessary to get those investments up and running,” Landau said in a post to social media after the meeting.
“These are the kind of visitors we want, who are creating American jobs and prosperity right here at home. Korean companies are poised to make massive new investments in our country in shipbuilding among other industries.”
More than 300 workers from South Korea were arrested earlier this month during the raid at the factory, which Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution operate. More than 150 other workers were also detained.
The raid was announced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and included officers from other agencies, such as Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It marked one of the largest immigrant raids in modern American history.
Last Sunday, a senior South Korean official said that the country will charter a plane for the return of hundreds of workers who were detained.
Never would I ever have thought that I would fly over 10 hours across the Atlantic ocean just for a three-day holiday. Well, I just did that – and it’s actually possible.

America’s West Coast in three days? Count me in(Image: Ashley Bautista)
The summer season is coming to an end, and before I get into the autumn mood with my jumpers and hot chocolate with marshmallows, I joined my parents with my remaining days of annual leave for a quick trip to America.
At first – like many would have – I hesitated to spend hundreds of pounds on a flight ticket and fly for half a day just to be there for a few days. But as per my New Year’s resolution list, I wanted to be more spontaneous and say ‘yes’ to things that I wouldn’t normally agree to.
The flight from London Heathrow to Los Angeles International Airport was 12 hours(Image: Ashley Bautista)
Having access to a car in the US is a must(Image: Ashley Bautista)
Instead of the typical sightseeing activities a tourist would do in LA, going to In-N-Out and IHOP or trying the viral $20 (£14.72) smoothie from Erewhon, we decided to use these three days to travel to the other nearby cities – which were San Francisco and Malibu. Very random, I’d say so myself.
I arrived into Los Angeles International Airport at 6pm, a 12-hour journey from London Heathrow. At least with the time difference, it became a three-hour flight. It’s crazy how time works differently depending on where you are, right?
The next day, we woke up at 4am – which, with the jet lag at the time, it wasn’t an issue – and drove almost six hours to San Francisco. The vibes reminded me of New York, and I couldn’t believe how the weather suddenly changed from 31 degrees Celsius to a chilly 19 degrees Celsius.
Our main goal was to see the Golden Gate Bridge. I would only see that in movies and postcards, and the fact that I was able to see it in real life was a bucket-list check moment. Then, we drove around the city and saw the Palace of Fine Arts and Fisherman’s Wharf, until it was time to drive for another six hours back to Los Angeles.
We drove to San Francisco to visit the Golden Gate Bridge(Image: Ashley Bautista)
The last day of the trip got spent in Malibu(Image: Ashley Bautista)
The next day, we decided to stay in the city. We had a packed day, and I wanted to ensure that we didn’t miss anything that would make us seem we hadn’t been in LA. Places like the Beverly Hills, the Walk of Fame, the Capitol Records, The Grove, and, of course, seeing the Hollywood sign.
All I’m going to say is that if we didn’t have a car, none of this would’ve been possible. I also got to try the infamous Crumbl cookies, and let me tell you, it’s not worth the hype nor the price tag.
With a flight at 11pm, we woke up bright and early for the last day and drove to Malibu. It wasn’t that long of a car ride, but the holiday blues started to kick in. The perfect weather with the windows down and playing Miley Cyrus’ Malibu tune – we even passed across the Sherbet Homes on the Pacific Coast Highway. It honestly felt like a dream.
It was a long journey and road trips involved, but it was completely worth it. Although I wish we spent more time in each city, since the landmarks are far from each other, I still enjoyed seeing different places and vibes – and even a weather change. Plus, you don’t realise how big the US is as a whole until you’re there.
Seeing the Hollywood sign was another bucket-list check moment(Image: Ashley Bautista)
This trip wasn’t the typical ‘California Girls’ holiday, but I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. I got to see three different cities with completely different environments and weather changes, and although the jet lag has been a struggle to cope with, I’ve made a lot of good memories. This is definitely the summer I became the most spontaneous.
So, if you’re looking for a motivation push for some spontaneity or ever wondered if it’s possible to visit the US in less than a week, it is. Of course, it really depends on what you’re looking to do and if you have access to a car, which I highly suggest.
Love Island star Harry Cooksley is set to reveal a major ‘regret’ he has over his romance with fellow contestant Shakira Khan as the ITV2 competition finally draws to a close.

Harry Cooksley is set to reveal a major ‘regret’ he has about his romance with Shakira Khan during the Love Island final. The footballer, 30, has made it to the end of the ITV2 dating programme with Shakira, 22, and is set to have an open and honest chat with her before they could be potentially be crowned winners of the latest series.
Shakira starts things off by saying: “Doing this experience without you and watching things unfold was so hard because I felt so strongly towards you. You’re everything I could possibly want in a partner. It’s been an amazing last week and I’m excited for the future.”
The finalists all dress up in their best outfits for one last dinner together as part of the last episode of the series (Image: ITV/Shutterstock)
Shakira was initially coupled up with Harry in the early weeks of the competition, but they got together again just days ahead of the final and he told her: “I came in here and thought it would be a lot of fun. Finding you in a Villa in Mallorca was not on my bingo card this summer. I do regret taking too long to tell you how I felt. We both know this is more than surface level – I think it always has been for me.”
During the build-up to the winning reveal, Shakira receives a text that reads: ” Islanders. Tonight you will have a very special finalists’ dinner. #FinalFeels #OneLastEvening,” and she, along with Harry, and the remaining couples Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes, Ty Isherwood and Angel Swift, as well as Cach Mercer and Toni Laites will all be seen in the garden wearing their finest for their last night in the villa.
Toni says to Cach: “I don’t think I tell you enough but the way you treat me has made this whole wacky-ass experience worth it. I think everyone has seen how happy you make me. I’m really thankful to be here with you. ” In response, Cach says to Toni: I feel like our journey has been a rollercoaster, I’m grateful for every moment. You make me feel very comfortable in here. And I don’t think I could’ve done it with anyone else to be honest with you. ”
Angel then decides to tell Ty that she is ‘everything’ she looks for in a man, and adds: “You’re thoughtful, you make me laugh, and I also fancy the pants off you. I couldn’t be happier.”
In response, Ty tells her: “I want to thank you and the Love Island gods for sending you in. I feel like it was at a time when I didn’t know where I was. You came at the perfect time. You’re everything that I look for in a girl. I feel like I am really falling for you.”
Meanwhile, Yas reflects on her journey with Jamie and declares to him: “You just get me completely. I don’t tell you enough but I’m so genuinely appreciative of you and everything you’ve done for me in here. You’ve made me so happy,” and Jamie responds with: “Obviously when I came into the Villa, I sat down and had a conversation with you – instantly the energy was matched and I knew from that moment you were the girl that I wanted to be spending my time with in here.”
Shakira and Harry are currently the bookies’ favourites to win the whole series and walk away with the cash prize of £50,000, with odds of 10/11 whilst Toni and Cach have odds of 7/4, Yasmin and Jamie’s odds stand at 4/1 and Angel and Ty are at 20/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The odds have spoken and it looks as though Shakira and Harry have peaked at just the right time… punters reckon they’ll finish in first place ahead of Toni and Cach, with Yasmin and Jamie rounding out the podium places tonight.” However, Harry’s time in the villa has not been without its controversy.
The part-time player had caught the eye of both Shakira and Helena among others during his time in the villa. So Harry’s club, who play in the Southern Premier League, asked his pals back in the UK which woman he is better suited to. Even manager Paul Johnson waded in on the TikTok video, musing: “Bin off Shakira, 100 per cent. She’s a drip, nosy b***h.”
And the comments kept coming as a squad member went on: “Get rid of Shakira, she is as annoying as f**k,” as another helpfully mused: “I don’t care, just get him back here and get him running.” When it came time for contestants to meet the families of their co-stars, one fan savagely predicted he would be going ‘straight to hell’ for the way he had behaved.
They wrote on X: “finally caught up to love island UK…Harry, you’re going straight to hell’ as the famous section of the show geared up to return. One viewer felt so passionate about not wanting Harry and Shakira to be together that they admitted they ‘not watch the rest’ of the series if that is the way things go.
Love Island 2025 airs every night at 9PM on ITV2 and ITVX.
A mum-of-three from the US has opened up about the assumptions people have made since her family decided to move to Italy and start a new life without American coffee, a tumble dryer or a car

On a typical day, which may involve schedules, work stress, and other commitments, you may wonder what it would be like to give it all up to live a different, calmer life, even if just for a short while. You may pine to move to a new city, or swap the hustle and bustle for countryside. Others dream of studying or living abroad for a year or two.
One mum, named Erica Galbreath, was left fed up with the daily “hustle and bustle” and wanted more adventure for herself, her husband and their three children. She has opened up about her journey after moving her family to Tuscany in Italy from the US. On Instagram, she admitted: “There’s wasn’t one lightbulb moment. No dramatic epiphany, no perfect timing. Just a quiet knowing that we wanted more. And somehow, Italy felt like the place to find it.”
Erica has been sharing updates of her journey on her Instagram page @travelingmuggles. While she has been inundated with support and positivity from others, many people have shared their presumptions about the family’s choice to move.
Before moving, Erica shared the “actual unhinged things people have said to me when I tell them I’m moving to Italy”.
One question Erica was asked stated: “Aren’t you worried about moving your kids there? Don’t you think this will be too hard on them!” Erica responded and candidly wrote: “Totally opposite. Say hello to never having active shooter drills again. The US isn’t exactly the poster child for safety.”
She also noted that when people say that they “can’t believe” she signed the children up for a traditional Italian school – and not an English speaking school in Italy – that it is “hands down the best way to learn the language and integrate”.
Erica further said people assume that the family is Catholic now, but they aren’t. She has also received wild assumptions that she “forced” her husband to move, as Erica said: “He’s been here less than a month and feels like this is the home he’s always been missing.”
Content cannot be displayed without consent
The family are enjoying adjusting to their new life. Erica said they given up their car because they are happy to walk and the public transport is good. She noted she doesn’t miss the large American coffees and they do not have a tumble dryer – and dry their clothes outside like other Tuscany locals.
“This is something I’ve wanted since I was a child,” she admitted. Erica said her dad travelled for work when she was younger, and she felt inspired. One day she was on a hike and realised she had never fulfilled the dream of living abroad, so after speaking to her family and they decided to move to Italy 30 days later.
She said people have told her she looks happy since the move. Erica added: “I left everything behind, stopped chasing a dream that wasn’t mine, and moved my family to Tuscany.”
She noted: “We traded in the hustle for slow mornings, good wine and family time in Tuscany.”
The family don’t plan on moving back to the US any time soon either.

90 Day Fiancé star Larissa Lima has confessed fears her OnlyFans career will be impacted by her decision to reverse various plastic surgery procedures.
The reality star admits she regrets her 1,500-cc breast implants in E! Entertainment’s new series, Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind.

In the first episode, streaming now on Hayu, Larissa reveals how many procedures she has received since 2018. She detailed: “Lipo on my knees, thighs, tummy tuck, BBL three times. I removed it and got a butt lift. I got two boob jobs, fat removal, lipo in my chin. And I think that’s it. Oh, nose job. I also got a six-pack, vaser liposuction.”

But the Brazilian-born star has since grown to regret the enhancements. “I just wish I could go back in time,” she told fellow castmate Alan McGarry.
Explaining how her surgery journey began, Larissa said: “I got my first surgery [when] I was doing 90 Day Fiancé. After I got my boobs and my nose [done]. I said ‘Oh this is amazing.’ Like I won the lottery.”

She confessed her Only Fans audience may not like the surgery reversal (Image: Hayu )
She explained: “I make money on OnlyFans and I thought well ‘Bigger boobs [are] gonna make more money’ and I thought ‘What could go wrong?’

But choosing to ditch the implants could negatively impact her career, and the Larissa is ready for that shift.

“Growing up, I was bullied and this really made me feel very sad. Kids are very cruel sometimes.” This led her to pursue beauty because, as she sees it, “people really love beautiful people”.
“I always wanted to look like Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, Anna Nicole Smith,” she said.

Iranian president says neither Qatar nor its people were targets of attack on US base in the gas-rich Gulf nation.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed his “regret” to Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani over Tehran’s missile attack on a US base on Monday.
In a phone call on Tuesday with the emir, Pezeshkian noted that neither Qatar nor its population were the target of the attack on the Al Udeid Air Base, the United States base in Qatar, and that it did “not represent a threat” to the Gulf nation, the Diwan (emir’s office) said in a statement.
“[Pezeshkian] stressed that the State of Qatar will remain a neighbouring, Muslim, and sisterly state, and expressed his hope that relations between the two countries will always be based on the principles of respect for the sovereignty of states and good neighbourliness,” the statement said.
Iran launched 19 missiles at the US base, which is the largest in the Middle East, with Qatari defence forces intercepting 18 of them, according to officials from the Ministry of Interior. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched this “powerful and devastating missile attack” in response to the “blatant military aggression” by the US on Iran’s nuclear facilities on Sunday.

Translation: His Highness the Emir receives a phone call from His Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the Iranian attack, a series of flares and loud explosions were observed in Qatar’s capital, Doha, as well as other areas of the country. Qatari officials confirmed that the airbase was evacuated before the attack.
According to the Diwan, the emir “reiterated Qatar’s strong condemnation” of the attack, considering it a “flagrant violation of its sovereignty and airspace”.
“His Highness the Emir also expressed that this violation is completely inconsistent with the principle of good neighbourliness and the close relations between the two countries, especially since Qatar has always been an advocate of dialogue with Iran and has made strenuous diplomatic efforts in this regard,” the statement added.
Iran and Qatar have long enjoyed fraternal relations, and the Qatari government has condemned both the Israeli and US attacks on Iran. But Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani spoke at a news conference on Tuesday of a “scar” to relations between Doha and Tehran that would need time to heal.
