It’s also an affordable way to spruce up your space for the colder months after being marked down in the sale.

The cream shaggy faux fur rug was originally priced at £18.

But it’s currently scanning for just £4.50. This works out at a huge £13.50 saving.

And it’s not just an insulation solution for your floors.

A savvy bargain hunter revealed she has been using the rug as a throw for her bed and sofa after snapping up two in her local store.

Posting on the BARGAIN LOVERS – Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Range & More Facebook group, which boasts 910,000 members, Jayne said: “Bargain down to £4.50 at B&M.

“iv put one on my sofa and bed “

Other shoppers are now racing to pick one up, as one gushed: “I need.”

A second asked a loved one: “Have u any in if so please save me 2 an let me know.”

Meanwhile, a third cried: “I need a new rug!!! When we going?”

What Can You Get For Under £1 at B&M Stores

Elsewhere in store, a mum has revealed the top B&M buys you can grab now to spread the cost of Christmas shopping.

Kirsty, who jokingly describes herself as ”Christmas crazy”, recently shared the epic haul of goodies she got her teenager ahead of the festive season.

While some people reckon Christmas shopping in September is ”too early” – and even her hubby reckons she’s ”lost the plot” – sorting out the presents months in advance is a great way to spread the cost.

”I start shopping [for Christmas] straight away, soon as the year starts – especially once we get to February, March, April, I’m in full-swing Christmas,” Kirsty told her 29k followers on TikTok.

The monster haul included just some of the items the mum will be treating her 16-year-old daughter to during the festive season.

The majority of the goodies she snapped up as long as six months ago were purchased at B&M and included a range of items.

Mums are also snapping up a £10 festive buy that guarantees an hour of peace from your kids.

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M’s scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:

  • Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
  • Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
  • You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
  • Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
  • If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
  • You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

Kelsie Burrows: Cliftonville want IFA to review process after Reds captain has ban reduced

Burrows, who represented Northern Ireland at the 2022 Euros, said she was “relieved and appreciative” that Cliftonville’s challenge was successful.

“The original sanction was not only going to affect my ability to play the sport I love, but it also took a significant toll on my mental and social well-being,” added the former Blackburn and Linfield player.

“The stress of being accused of something I knew I didn’t do was incredibly emotionally difficult, and it placed strain on my relationships both on and off the pitch.

“I’m proud to represent both Cliftonville and Northern Ireland, and I’ve always tried to conduct myself with professionalism and respect for the game.

“I’m thankful the challenge process acknowledged the full context of the incident, and I now look forward to moving on and continuing to give everything for my club and country.”

The Cadbury Dairy Milk 110g bar, which comes in a special ‘Congratulations’ gift sleeve originally scanned for an eye-watering £5.

But the mouthwatering treat will only set punters back £1.25 after making a return to retailers.

Sweet-toothed revellers flocked to hail the find.

“I want one,” one shopper said.

A second added: “Yummy!”

A third revealed: “I got three today.

“They’ve already been eaten.”

Cadbury has more new products coming next month.

It is adding to their Twirl range with a limited-edition Twirl White Dipped bar, which will be available from early June 2025.

This new version combines the classic Twirl milk chocolate layers with a smooth coating of white chocolate.

We’ve outdone ourselves with this one’ say Cadbury Ireland as they reveal new limited edition bar ‘coming soon

The iconic chocolate brand shared the news in a post on Facebook earlier this month.

“OK but we’ve really outdone ourselves with this one,” it told chocoholics.

It described the new flavour as “unreal, indulgent, smooth, swirly, creamy, melty, new, and mouthwatering.”

However, the confectionery veterans also revealed that this new buy “won’t be around forever”.

So once this exciting new bar hits shelves, Cadbury fans may want to stock up while they can.

“Introducing Twirl White Dipped, keep your eyes peeled for when you can get your hands on it,” the post read.

The launch image showed the famous flaky texture of a Twirl bar en-coated in white chocolate instead classic milk chocolate.

Cadbury representatives confirmed the bar is set to hit shelves on June 2.

Making a comeback

Earlier this month, chocolate fans were buzzing with excitement after spotting a new Cadbury treat that brings back fond memories of a beloved classic.

The discovery was shared in the popular Facebook group, Food Finds UK, where shoppers were quick to notice its striking similarity to the nostalgic Cadbury Tasters.

The new treat, named Cadbury Dairy Milk Balls, is said to resemble the discontinued Tasters, which first appeared in 1996.

These small, round Dairy Milk chocolates were similar to Maltesers but lacked the crunchy centre.

Despite their rich, chocolatey taste, Cadbury Tasters were quietly discontinued in the mid-2000s due to low sales.

Top discontinued products

Here are our top discontinued snacks – including picks from our team…

Fabulous Bakin’ Boys Cupcakes

Consumer reporter Emily Mee says: “It was always a good day when I spotted these in my lunch box at school. Putting a layer of chocolate on top of a vanilla cupcake is a simple idea but a genius one. I would pay good money to try these again…”

Ready Salted Chipsticks

Head of Consumer Tara Evans says: “Ready Salted Chipsticks. Why did they get rid of this classic flavour? Some people think ready salted is boring – but why mess with a classic? I often feel taunted when I see the salt and vinegar version in shops.”

Coco Pops Rocks

Consumer news editor Ellie Smitherman says: “No idea whose bright idea it was to get rid of these, but it was possibly one of the worst moves in cereal history. “

Tooti Frooties

Senior consumer reporter James Flanders says: “Tooty Frooties were a chewy blast of childhood joy. Scrapped after 50 years, they were Britain’s alternative to Skittles – and in an age obsessed with nostalgia, bringing them back just makes sense. Lots of dupes can be picked up at budget supermarkets but they just don’t taste the same.”

White Maltesers

While the milk chocolate version is still going strong, White Chocolate Maltesers were pulled from shelves in 2014. Mars said it was a “difficult decision” at the time, and fans still post comments on its social media pages calling for it to come back.

Heinz Toast Toppers

Out of all the discontinued products, this is one of the ones we see the most calls for to come back. The creamy cans came in a variety of flavours like chicken and mushroom or cheese and ham. They were binned in 2015 after delighting shoppers for decades.

Cadbury Spira

Another of the regular calls we see is for the Cadbury Spira to return. The chocolate featured twin bars in each pack which were formed into a spiral shape, with six hollow tubes running through each one.

Over at Dunelm, shoppers can find up to 50 per cent off selected duvet sets in a seasonal sale.

One popular waffle set now ranges from £25.60 to £41.60, down from £32 to £52, and comes in a choice of colours including sage green, black, grey, blue and white.

Meanwhile, Dusk is offering up to 25 per cent off bedding, including the 200 thread count Portofino Waffle Duvet Cover, reduced to between £27.50 and £49.50.

Back at Matalan, more glowing reviews have poured in for the White Butterfly set.

“Feels nice too, very comfy feeling…..love it.”

A fifth review simply read: “Excellent value for money.”

However, potential buyers should note a couple of small drawbacks.

The set is machine washable, but there’s no mention of whether it’s suitable for tumble drying—something to consider for busy households.

And with the fabric’s raised design, pet owners may need to be cautious as claws could potentially snag the material.

For those looking to refresh their home on a budget, Dunelm is also offering significant discounts on various homeware items.

Shoppers can find up to 75 per cent off in their clearance sale, including items like curtains, bedding, and rugs .

Additionally, Dunelm’s outlet stores across the UK offer up to 75 per cent off stylish home items, including boucle chairs, sofas, cabinets, and lighting.

This floral-designed set includes four dinner plates, four side plates, and four bowls, and is both dishwasher and microwave safe.

Pep Guardiola: Manchester City manager says he will quit club if squad size not reduced

Pep Guardiola has said he will quit as manager of Manchester City if he is given a big squad to select from after the summer transfer market.

A number of Man City’s senior players were not included in the squad for Tuesday’s 3-1 win against Bournemouth and Guardiola says he is unhappy at leaving so many players out.

Abdukodir Khusanov, Savinho, James McAtee, Claudio Echeverri and Rico Lewis all missed out on Tuesday’s 20-man matchday squad as City moved to third in the Premier League and within a point of Champions League qualification.

But, despite this showing the depth Guardiola has at his disposal, the Spaniard wants to work with a smaller squad.

He said: “I said to the club I don’t want that [a bigger squad]. I don’t want to leave five or six players in the freezer. I don’t want that. I will quit. Make a shorter squad, I will stay.”

Guardiola says it is “impossible for my soul” to leave players watching from the stands.

“Maybe [for] three, four months we couldn’t select 11 players, we didn’t have defenders, it was so difficult. After people come back but next season it cannot be like that,” the 54-year-old added.

“As a manager I cannot train 24 players and every time I select I have to have four, five, six stay in Manchester at home because they cannot play. This is not going to happen. I said to the club. I don’t want that.”

City spent more than £200m on four players in January after suffering a number of key injuries. Kevin De Bruyne is one of those players who will definitely depart in the summer, while the future of Jack Grealish is in doubt.

When asked if it meant more exits were inevitable, Guardiola – who signed a deal keeping him at the club until 2027 – said: “It is a question for the club. I don’t want to have 24, 25, 26 players when everyone is fit. If I have injuries, unlucky, we have some players for the academy and we do it.

Guardiola said a big squad is unstainable and that it is important for “the soul of the team” that his players “create another connection with each other that this season we lost it a bit”.

All Premier League clubs can have a 25-man squad, but this is not an exhaustive list of all players eligible to play. A team can also include under-21 players who are eligible over and above the 25-man squad limit.

Manchester City’s website lists 28 first-team squad members, plus four players who are on loan elsewhere.

Guardiola has explained in the past, external why he prefers to manage a smaller squad, going into the 2023/24 season with 20 senior players.

In comparison, Chelsea’s official website lists 31 players in their squad list, with 21 other players out on loan, Brighton and Tottenham list 29 players, while Wolves name 30 players on their squad list.

Clubs with smaller squads than Manchester City this season include Arsenal with just 24 players and champions Liverpool , Aston Villa, Everton and Nottingham Forest with 25 squad players.
