Primark

‘I visited Primark 10 mins from Disneyland and was amazed by what I found’

Most people know that a trip to Disneyland doesn’t come cheap. However, one couple have shared a money-saving hack to anyone who is visiting Disneyland – head to the Primark that is just 10 minutes away from it

Quite a few parents may be planning to take their kids to Disneyland Paris now that’s it’s half term in the UK. With many children getting a two-week half term break from school, it’s the perfect time for a holiday to the magical destination in Paris to celebrate Halloween and have some Autumn fun.

However, most parents know that a trip to Disneyland doesn’t come cheap – especially when you’re spending out on accessorises in the park. However, one couple have shared a money-saving hack to anyone who is visiting Disneyland – head to the Primark that is just 10 minutes away from it.

Sofia and Arran, known as @sofia.and.arran on TikTok, shared the tip with their 119,000 followers on the app.

The video began with Sofia seen outside the Primark as she said: “The Disneyland Primark is unreal, it’s huge… let’s go see what they’ve got.”

Sofia then told her followers that she “really wanted some Mickey ears”, which will set you back around €25 (£22) inside Disneyland.

Arran then said the Primark had “so much Disney stock” due to the fact that it’s so near to Disneyland. “We always come a day before a visit,” he said.

The first Disney product Sofia spied was some Stitch character slippers, as Aran said he’d ‘never seen them in the UK’. Sofia exclaimed: “I need them.”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

However, they later revealed that there was a “whole wall” of Stitch products, what with the Lilo & Stitch film recently being released.

Sofia also saw some cute pyjamas based on the film ‘Up’, as the pair said they “loved” the movie.

The next product was some Halloween-themed Mickey ears and pyjamas.

Some Mini Mouse slippers were also available in the shop, as were some Flinstones pyjamas.

The pair then grabbed some Mini Mouse ears as well as some more Halloween-themed Mickey ears.

The couple didn’t reveal the prices that the products were, however, they did say the ears were only €5 (£4.35).

Many people were excited about the products, as one person wrote: “I love the Halloween ears.”

While another added: “Wait, I never knew this, I just left Disneyland.”

A third chimed in: “Yes love the Primark! I got a bag when I went in October.”

However, not everyone was as enthralled, as one person moaned: ” I was there in March and they had nothing good.”

While another added: “The majority of this stuff (excluding the ears) can be bought at UK Primarks.”

The Primark the couple are referring to is located in the Val d’Europe shopping centre, which is a short 7-minute walk from the park.

The Val d’Europe centre is located directly next to Disneyland Paris and is accessible from the resort.

Primark shoppers rave over outfit hailed the ‘perfect’ and ‘easiest’ Halloween costume for iconic TV character

SHOPPERS are going wild after spotting a Primark outfit being crowned as the ‘easiest’ Halloween costume yet.

The outfit has been hailed “perfect” for fans of a hit TV show.

The outfit has been dubbed a “perfect costume” for Sue Sylvester, from Glee

The budget retailer has been praised for stocking a bright red tracksuit that fans say is a dead ringer for Sue Sylvester, the fierce cheerleading coach from Glee.

TikToker @Malikiss1 filmed the outfit in-store and captioned it: “Run to Primark for the easiest Sue Sylvester Halloween costume.”

The clip quickly racked up comments, with shoppers writing: “I love this,” “I need this,” and “Omg they have them in the kids section too so can match with the kiddos.”

Another added: “I bought it just for this!”, proving the tracksuit is already flying off shelves as a fancy dress hack.

Halloween deals

And with Halloween only a month away, bargain hunters are also snapping up spooky deals from other high street favourites.

Poundland has slashed prices in a massive clearance sale ahead of its website shutting down later this month.

Shoppers can bag Halloween decorations from as little as 50p, including pumpkin ornaments, ghost plates and ceramic mugs.

Costumes, masks and multipacks of sweets have also been reduced, making it easy to stock up before trick-or-treat season.

It is not just Halloween stock either, Christmas baubles, stockings and jumpers have also been reduced to clear, with prices starting at just £1.

Shoppers running to Home Bargains for new Disney Halloween buy that they ‘need’ and keeps selling out

Poundland’s website will switch to browsing-only from September 16, with the store’s loyalty scheme also being scrapped.

Meanwhile, Home Bargains has launched a new “spooky disco” collection with a quirky pink twist.

Among the stand-out items is a £4.99 pumpkin disco dome and a £1.79 cowboy ghost ornament called Gloria.

Pink mason jars and mugs are also on sale, alongside matching disco tea towels and table runners to complete the look.

With Primark’s tracksuit hack, Poundland’s clearance bargains and Home Bargains’ disco-inspired range, shoppers are spoiled for choice when it comes to cheap and cheerful Halloween prep this year.

Top tips on getting dressed up for Halloween

By Abby McHale, Fabulous’ Deputy Fashion Editor

Halloween is the perfect opportunity to get dressed up, take on a different persona and have fun with your look.

These days, celebrities provide the perfect inspiration for costumes, however, they also have a team of stylists, makeup artists and endless bounds of cash at their disposal.

So how do you make an outfit like theirs work for you?

A lot of stars make their outfits look sexy and your lingerie drawer is the perfect starting point.

You can use anything from a bra, fishnet tights, stockings and suspenders to add to your look, then depending on the look you’re going for add makeup according.

I.e wearing a black bodice and tights, add some red lipstick and dark eyes for a vampy look.

The rest of your wardrobe can be more inspiring than you think too – for example a plain black can be a perfect base for your costume.

If you are however happy to spend a bit of money on your Halloween costume but are running out of time then Amazon is your go too, there are so many costumes to choose from with many sitting under its Prime next day delivery option.

Or if you’re wanting to see what the in store shops have to offer, look to the supermarkets and budget stores such as B&M, Poundland and Primark which are still full of accessories and clothing to fulfil your Halloween wishes.

Other Halloween ideas

Shoppers have been left running to their local Home Bargains to snap up their brand-new Disney Halloween buy that keeps selling out.

In honour of Halloween, Mickey and Minnie Mouse have been turned into adorable, fluffy orange pumpkins.

And an Ibiza Final Boss costume is set to be Halloween’s big trend as online stores cash in on demand.

While, shoppers cried “Love every single pair” as Sainsbury’s launched their “gorgeous” range of autumn PJs

Finally, last year, a Halloween-daft mum left people stumped after creating incredible optical illusion costumes for her son – with people asking “what one is the kid?”.

Is Primark open during the August Bank Holiday?

Primark‘s business hours may be affected by the August Bank Holiday in 2025 — but fear not, most of you will still be able to get your shopping done.

On August 25, many Primark stores in England and Wales will be open between 8am and 8pm, while the majority of stores in Scotland will be open from 8am to 10pm.

Some locations in England, including Lakeside and OXford Street, will also open 8am to 10pm.

Other Primark stores are operating between 9am and 5pm, while others are open from 9am to 7pm, so it’s really worth checking beforehand.

more august bank holiday news

There are no national opening times for Primark, so shoppers should find out their local store’s timetable, which can be done in store.

You can also check out Primark’s app and store locator tool — www.primark.com/en-gb/stores — for further information.

There are some great buys you don’t want to miss out on.

Fashion fans are sure to be racing to their nearest Primark for one of their latest offerings — a plain T-shirt that has the added function of cinching you in at the waist for only £8.

Primark has also jumped on the FARM Rio trend, which has been praised for its incredible prints and 3D sculpted clothing.

Not to mention, there’s an epic outdoor toy sale that will ensure your children will have hours of fun, without you needing to break the bank.

And some buys that have been slashed down to as little as just 50p.

Primark fans are running to snap up new PJ range – it’ll take you back to the early 2000s and it’s perfect for stocking fillers

To make things easier, the retailer’s click & collect service is also now available in all its stores across Great Britain.

Primark’s incredible journey

Primark first opened its doors in June 1969 under the name Penneys, before opening up stores across Ireland.

As the brand grew in size, the American chain JC Penney objected to the use of the Penneys name.

This forced the Irish brand to rename its England stores Primark.

The name was chosen because “prima” is Italian for “first” and the owner hoped that the brand would make a “mark”.

Primark has become one of the most popular shops on the high street and now has 192 stores in the UK, as of December 2024.

TikToker Jasmine Poppy sent fashion lovers into a frenzy when she posted a clip of her latest TU Clothing purchases.

The TikToker showed off Sainsbury’s new range of cosy sets perfect for snuggling up as the nights draw in.

Among the finds was the Mini Me Women’s Halloween Pink Pumpkin Print Slinky Pyjama set, priced at £16, with the rest of the line retailing at £20.

And while Halloween PJs usually mean garish orange and purple prints, Sainsbury’s has gone for something a little different this year with pretty designs in soft pinks and cute patterns that shoppers say are “perfect for autumn”.

The line includes a pink jersey pasta printed set, cosy pin-striped pumpkin set and a fun cherry cake printed set, with plenty of other cute designs for shoppers to pick from.

The playful pumpkin prints, soft fabrics, and matching sets have quickly earned a spot on people’s must-buy lists.

“I LOVE TU pjs, they’re so comfy,” raved one fan in the comments.

Another wrote: “Never have I run to order something so quickly.”

A third added: “These are gorgeous, I want all of them.”

One shopper had their eyes on a particular set, gushing: “I need the cherry pumpkin ones.”

I work in Sainsbury’s – my picks from new autumn collection, 1920s trend is back

While another insisted: “Sainsbury’s pjs top all others, honestly.”

It’s clear Sainsbury’s is coming into the colder months well prepared, with styles that feel seasonal without being over-the-top spooky, perfect for anyone who wants to nod to Halloween without going full fancy dress.

So, if you’re already dreaming of hot chocolate, candles, and a fresh pair of matching PJs, you might want to make your next supermarket trip a pyjama haul.

It comes after a Sainsbury’s fashion boss sent shoppers into a frenzy after giving them a sneak peek of their new autumn arrivals.

Hannah Pountain, Director of Merchandising at Tu Clothing, revealed her top five picks from the new range in an Instagram video over the weekend.

And she rounded up her five top picks from the new range – including a staple buy which proves a classic 1920s trend is returning.

The autumn drop follows a wave of excitement over other high street nightwear launches.

Just last week, Primark had shoppers swooning with a Clueless-themed pyjama line, inspired by the iconic 90s rom-com.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.

Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.

So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?

Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.

A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.

Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.

Major brand is selling under the seat cabin bag for £4 cheaper than Primark & it’s approved for Ryanair flights

TRAVEL lovers have been lapping up a big brand cabin bag that’s even more penny-pinching than Primark’s own version.

There’s nothing worse than getting caught out by militant measures – and here’s the answer.

Passengers waiting at Dublin airport with luggage, watching a Ryanair plane at sunrise.

The Robert Dyas Underseat bag has captured the imagination of flyersCredit: Alamy

To avoid paying for an overpriced cabin bag, shoppers have been going potty for the Robert Dyas Underseat Cabin Bag.

Available in black/red, it comes in at a savvy £7.99 and is ideal for short breaks or business trips.

The travel companion is priced even lower than Primark’s £12 Underseat Bag.

High Quality Cabin Carry on Holdall Bag Duffel Under Seat. Additional sleeve section on the back to fit over trolley case handles. Adjustable shoulder strap and top carry handle.

Happy customers reviewed online: “Great bag to take on plane.”

A second added: “Underseat travel bag. Perfect size to use when travelling. Strong bag, easy to fold and store away.”

A third praised: “Looks good and roomy, ideal to take onboard a plane and lots of compartments for important stuff.”

“Perfect lightweight bag, just what I wanted,” applauded a fourth.

“Excellent quality and value,” wrote another.

“Very good. Correct dimensions for small bag to take as cabin bag. Love it!” penned another.

Moment drunk Scots passenger dragged off Ryanair flight after ‘BOMB THREAT’ forcing diversion

“Very sturdy, great quality bag. Amazing price. Perfect for Ryanair‘s ridiculously stringent sizing policy. Managed to ram more into it than I envisaged,” advised a fifth.

All Ryanair passengers can bring a small personal bag on board but this must fit under the seat in front of you.

All over-sized cabin bags will be refused at the boarding gate, or where available put in the hold for a fee.

Anyone wanting to bring another bag, you’ll need to upgrade and pay extra for priority and two cabin bags or checked baggage.

Many angry passengers have been caught out by Ryanair’s strict baggage allowance for flights.

However, the Robert Dyas lightweight bag has a 20L capacity with dimensions H:25 x W:40 x D:5 cm and fits perfectly under the seat.

With a front zip for passports and essentials, it features carry grab handles with an adjustable shoulder strap.

Made from strong polyester, it also offers a one year guarantee.

Advice for flying with Ryanair

  • All Ryanair passengers can bring a small personal bag on board but this must fit under the seat in front of you, but it must be no bigger than 40cm x 20cm x 25cm
  • Any over-sized cabin bags will be refused at the boarding gate and put in the hold for a fee
  • Ryanair also charges passengers up to £55 check-in at the airport
  • Anyone who loses their card at the airport will have to pay a £20 reissue fee
  • Book to sit in the front five rows if you want to head off the plane first
  • Extra legroom seats can be found in rows 1 A, B, C or 2 D, E, F as well as row 16 and 17 near the emergency exit
  • The worst seat on Ryanair’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft is also 11A because of its lack of window.

I’m a fashion expert, here’s how to do festival looks on a budget – and save the planet

FESTIVAL fans are being urged to go green on Glasgow Green this summer with more sustainable fashion choices.

Every year Brits throw away 300,000 tonnes of fabric waste, which ends up slowly decomposing in landfills.

And to do their bit, the team behind TRNSMT is encouraging festival-goers to choose second hand style when it comes to their outfits.

Bosses are launching a Sustainable Festival Fashion Trail, which kicks off this weekend.

Tomorrow, TRNSMT will take over the Barras Market, Off The Rails at VEGA Glasgow and will pop up at vintage stores where shoppers can explore unique finds and festival picks curated by Scottish Stylist of the Year Victoria Lee.

The Glasgow-based preloved fashion fan said: “It is my job to encourage people to step away from fast fashion and choose more sustainable routes when it comes to topping up their wardrobes.”

Getting a look right for a festival can be tricky, especially in our unpredictable Scottish weather.

But what Victoria hopes is that music-lovers will avoid buying fast fashion items that get tossed aside once the party weekend is over in favour of vintage pieces that will last a lifetime.

Victoria, who ditched her own fast fashion business when she discovered the unethical roots of her on-sale items, said: “I love the uniqueness of it.

“When you’re shopping, you can have those unique pieces that other people aren’t wearing.

“You can really focus on your personal style. I think when you’re more slow and more intentional about what you buy, it pays off more in the end as well.”

While the average lifespan of an item of clothing is three years, many people who consume fast fashion find their clothing only lasts a few months.

We’re sizes 10 & 18 and did a New Look winter haul – it’s a burgundy dream & boots pass chunky test

But some of the preloved pieces in second hand and vintage stores have been worn for decades — and are still going strong.

Victoria said: “I think a lot of people panic buy for festivals and also we’ve become a little bit too accustomed to viewing our clothes as disposable.

“So the fashion trail encourages people to buy more staple pieces. The pieces in the collections will all be pieces that you can hopefully style around other things. Normal life, not just festivals.”

SUSTAINABLE STYLE

WE are self-confessed clothes addicts.

But, despite our love for all things fashion, choosing a fest outfit still foxes us — especially with our different ages and sizes.

In our YouTube series For Everybody, we test out outfits from the high street to see who is winning when it comes to being inclusive.

Katy is 34 and a size 18 while I’m a tummy-conscious size ten 45-year-old.
So could Victoria choose gorgeous, preloved festival outfits that rocked both of our worlds?

She scoured the rails at Glasgow’s West Vintage for two looks that could go from day to night at TRNSMT.

And she played a blinder.

For Katy, Victoria chose a flowy, brightly-coloured, tie-dyed maxi skirt paired with an over-sized sports T-shirt, all for just over £40.

For me, she chose a classic denim waistcoat and a layered white mini, with a handbag scarf for a pop of colour all for £50.

These pieces can be worn for years to come, making cost per wear a snip — music to our ears.

And her top tip for what to wear this summer? The style pro said: “I’d say the most fashionable thing you can do is just go with your own personal style and express yourself and who you are. Get those pieces that are staples that you’ll be able to wear again and again.”

On Sunday, the day will kick off at the Barras Market in Glasgow’s East End, where from 12pm fans can browse curated rails of pre-loved fashion, discover upcycled gems and get styling tips from sustainability champions.

From there, fans can head to Kings Court, stopping at vintage favourites including Mr Bens Retro Clothing, Minted and West Vintage for even more unique finds picked out by Victoria.

The day wraps up at VEGA Glasgow with a special festival edition of Off The Rails, a quarterly pop-up that celebrates independent brands.

There will be live performances by artists from this year’s BBC Introducing line-up and Radio 1 Dance Stage DJs at both The Barras and VEGA, bringing the festival buzz to the city.

There will also be the chance to win festival tickets to this summer’s Glasgow Green music extravaganza on July 11 to 13, with ten golden labels hidden along the trail as a reward for those who choose pre-loved summer festival outfits.

A TRNSMT Festival spokesman said: “Planning a festival outfit is a priority for so many fans. We wanted to create something that shows how sustainable fashion can still be exciting, creative, and fun, especially in a city like Glasgow that’s full of legendary vintage and second-hand options.”

You can now nab a ROLEX dupe in Primark for a staggering £17k cheaper – and it has the same ‘mother of pearl’ face

THE Lady-Datejust, the Pearlmaster, the Oyster or the Yachtie – whatever your favourite Rolex is, it’s probably worth well over £10,000.

The Swiss watch brand is synonymous with luxury, and us normal folk will probably spend our whole lives dreaming of owning one of its timepieces.

But where do we turn when saving up the five figures needed for an opulent watch is impossible? As it goes, Primark

The fast fashion giant has released a Rolex dupe for a mere £10.

The affordable design is a copycat of the luxury brand’s Lady-Datejust in oyster steel and yellow gold – which costs a staggering £17,300 to buy direct.

“Gold is coveted for its lustre and nobility,” a Rolex blurb reads. “Steel reinforces strength and reliability.

“Together, they harmoniously combine the best of their properties.”

Money-saving content creator Aimee Michelle unearthed the imitation watch in her local Primark and took to Instagram to alert fellow fashionistas.

“The comparison is uncanny,” she said.

“Everything down to the fluted bezzle, the stainless steel with the gold and even the ‘mother of pearl’ face.

“It’s the only one they have currently in store… but this is big news.”

The Primark watch’s official name is The Edit Metal Watch, and it is made from 80% steel and 20% zinc.

“Add a touch of luxury to your accessories edit with this timelessly sophisticated metal watch,” high street bosses said.

The timepiece has a classic and timeless design that will be relevant and stylish throughout every season, meaning you’ll get way over your £10’s worth of wear.

Like the Lady-Datejust, it is smaller and more delicate compared to many other watches.

As such, it’s ideal for women who prefer a more understated and elegant size without compromising on style.
