Oscar-winner Reese, 49, wrote crime thriller Gone Before Goodbye with American author Harlan Coben, who was behind Michelle’s Netflix hit show Fool Me Once.

Harlan introduced the women to each other at the launch of the book at the London Literature Festival, held at the capital’s Festival Hall last weekend.

A source said: “Harlan has been singing Michelle’s praises to Reese and she was keen to meet her. They got on really well and it was clear Reese was really taken with Michelle.

“The plan is to turn the book into a film and Michelle is their first choice to take on the role of the lead character, Maggie McCabe.

Michelle Keegan looks incredible posing with Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon

“She is a combat surgeon and Michelle previously played an Army medic in Our Girl on the BBC, so it’s a role they know she could take on with style.

“It’s early days but Harlan and Reese think Michelle is tailor-made for this role and would love her to come on board when the time is right.”

Ex-soap star Michelle became a global success after the mystery drama Fool Me Once was released last year.

The series became one of Netflix’s most watched TV shows of 2024 — with more than 107 million people streaming it worldwide in the first 90 days.

Best-selling author Harlan said of his leading lady: “I think what Michelle has, besides tremendous talent and all the other stuff, is a genuine authenticity.

“I think the audience, loves her, people want to follow her life, because they sense that there’s a kindness and a gentleness.

“And that’s really her, she’s truly authentic.”

Speaking last year, 63-year-old Harlan insisted he would be keen to work with her again and reckoned: “If we could get Michelle, we’d love to get Michelle.”

Fans of Michelle, from Stockport — who has a daughter with Heart FM DJ husband Mark Wright — will next see her on screen in ITV crime drama The Blame.

She plays Detective Inspector Emma Crane in the six-parter, which is an adaptation of Charlotte Langley’s 2023 debut novel of the same name.

Michelle is also known for her roles in the Sky One comedy drama Brassic and BBC drama Ten Pound Poms, about Brits who migrated to Australia in the 1950s.

Irish lass Catherine Agbaje, 25, is taking another shot at love and money as she enters the villa for a third time.

The brunette bombshell first appeared on the ITV2 dating show back in 2023 but failed to find love on the show.

During her first time in the villa Catherine coupled up with Zachariah Noble, Scott van der Sluis and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson.

While she left the villa with Elom, Catherine was left heartbroken when things didn’t work out with Scott.

She went back for a second time on All Stars and met Omar Nyame and the two coupled up eventually exiting the show together.

Omar and Catherine managed to reach the final during their stint, finishing in fourth place.

But, the couple failed to make it work once the show ended and they went back to their normal lives.

Now Catherine will be trying her luck in Love Island Games as a bombshell, an insider told us: “Catherine has flown out to Fiji and is in holding right now – she’s being lined up as a bombshell for Love Island Games.

“She didn’t find love the first two times around on the ITV show – but wants to find a man and crack the US this time!”

Catherine’s rep and Peacock have been contacted for comment.

Horse racing tips: ‘Red-hot trainer has him lined up to win’ – Templegate’s 9-2 NAP at Goodwood

TEMPLEGATE tackles Tuesday’s racing confident of banging in a few winners.

Back a horse by clicking their odds below.

SIXPACK (4.08 Goodwood, nap)

He went down by a nose when backed here last time and has been freshened up since. Conditions should be spot on and his canny trainer James Owen can ready one for a decent pot. Any juice in the ground would be welcome and he has a big chance.

ROACH POWER (2.58 Goodwood, nb)

Looks fully charged up. This is a big drop in class for Michael Wigham’s sprinter and the quirky track is no issue at all.

KODI FIRE (7.45 Wolverhampton, treble)

Is in flying form and has the handicapper on the run. His draw is fine and he has the services of champion jockey-to-be Oisin Murphy on board now.

Aaron Ramsey lined up for shock transfer to MEXICO as swoop for Arsenal legend, 34, ‘close to confirmation’

FORMER Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey is being targeted by Mexican giants Pumas as Cardiff City dither over offering him the full-time manager’s post.

Ramsey took the reins at Cardiff City Stadium in April and oversaw the Bluebirds’ final three Championship matches of the season.

But two draws and a defeat condemned them to relegation to League One.

The 34-year-old’s playing contract expires at the end of the month and the club’s plans for Ramsey remain a mystery.

Any hopes they had of appointing Nathan Jones ended on Friday when the boyhood Cardiff fan signed a new deal at Charlton.

Ramsey came through the ranks at Cardiff before joining the Gunners in 2008 for just under £5m.

He went on to make over 350 appearances and win FA Cup three times, featuring alongside Mexican star Carlos Vela for a number of years.

Now he has a chance to continue playing in Liga MX with Guadalajara-based Pumas – Vela’s hometown club.

Ramsey, who has not played a game for Cardiff since March, is a target for the Pumas, according to Mexican TV reporter Andres Vaca.

He told the Seleccione2 podcast: “I don’t know if they’re selling me smoke, they just told me that Aaron Ramsey is going to join Pumas.

“They told me it’s almost a confirmation.”

The Mexican club tried to tempt Vela, 36, to reverse his decision to retire last week.

Pumas coach Efrain Juarez, who played alongside Vela for the Mexican national team, revealed his attempt in a FOX Sports interview this week.

Their attention has now turned to Ramsey, who made it clear that he wanted to return to the pitch when he assumed interim charge of Cardiff.

He said in April: “I am just taking these three games.

“I’m still recovering from a hamstring operation, I’m still in the middle of rehab and I’m focused on getting back to full fitness.”
