Timothee Chalamet & Kylie Jenner WALKED OUT of Oscars for an hour after he was mocked repeatedly

HOLLYWOOD actor Timothée Chalamet missed out on Oscars glory — and had to endure a string of jibes during the ceremony.

The Marty Supreme star was the butt of jokes having angered the arts world by stating nobody cared about ballet and opera.

And his comments came back to haunt him as Academy Awards host Conan O’Brien said: “Security is very tight tonight. There’s concerns about attacks from the ballet and opera communities.”

He waded in again later, saying to Timothée: “We’re vibing, right?”

He then told viewers: “He doesn’t think so.”

Alexandre Singh, who won Best Live Action Short Film for Two People Exchanging Saliva, also took a pop during his speech and said: “We believe art can change people’s souls.

KATIE SPEAKS OUT

“Maybe it takes ten years, but we can change society through art, through creativity, through theatre and ballet — and cinema.”

Timothée, 30, also had to sit through a musical number from movie Sinners, with ballerina Misty Copeland — who had also criticised the star for his cultural views — dancing during the song.

Timothée was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar but lost to Sinners star Michael B. Jordan.

The backlash was sparked by his comment: “I don’t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this any more.”

He quickly added, “All respect to the ballet and opera people out there”, but the damage was done.

His remarks were widely rebuked, with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli mocking the star by publicly inviting him to one of his opera performances.

What did Timothee Chalamet say about ballet and opera? Oscars controversy explained

Timothée Chalamet has sparked a heated cultural debate following comments made at a CNN and Variety Town Hall on February 21, 2026.

Speaking alongside Matthew McConaughey about needing “draws” to pull in an audience to his movies, Chalamet made harsh comments about industries he claimed feel forced to stay afloat.

“I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera… where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore,’” he said.

The remarks mirror sentiments Chalamet expressed as early as 2019 during a promotional event for The King, where he labeled the disciplines “dying art forms.”

The Royal Ballet and Opera issued a formal rebuttal, emphasizing that these art forms do not exist in isolation but rather “inform, inspire, and elevate” the broader cultural landscape, including the film industry itself.

Onlookers told The Sun Timothée and girlfriend Kylie Jenner, 28, walked out of the ceremony for an hour amid the drubbing.

They said: “Timothee and Kylie were replaced by seat fillers for an hour.

“It seems like he had enough of being the butt of the jokes.

“They only came back just before the Best Actress and Best Actor categories were announced.”

Timothée was seen leaving the Vanity Fair after-party in the early hours of yesterday morning with Kylie, who is part of the Kardashian reality TV family.

Kylie’s ex-partner, rapper Travis Scott, the father of her two children Stormi, eight, and Aire, four, also later appeared to mock Timothee’s defeat by sharing a photograph of Michael wiping away tears as he accepted his award.

Timothée attempted to shrug off the loss at the Vanity Fair do, where he was also joined by Kylie’s sister, Kendall, and half-sister, Kim Kardashian.

Timothée and Kylie, who have dated since 2023, had been sipping champagne with stars including Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick Jagger, Australian actress Nicole Kidman and British-born star Naomi Watts.

An onlooker at the party said: “Timothée was swarmed by well-wishers as he arrived.

“He kept his sunglasses on for most of the night and tried to be low-key, but he stood out like a sore thumb in his white suit.

“Kylie and him stayed for a while but then left together without being seen.

“It was the Irish exit he wanted — and needed.”

Shock moment Timothee Chalamet is brutally roasted by Oscars host Conan O’Brien as Kylie Jenner LAUGHS by his side

OSCARS host Conan O’Brien has taken a dig at Timothee Chalamet in his opening speech after the actor’s controversial comments about the arts.

The Marty Supreme star found himself facing serious backlash after claiming “no one cares” about opera or ballet.

Conan held nothing back as he hosted the 2026 Oscars, joking about Timothee’s recent controversies

Conan, 62, kicked off the Oscars with a dig at Timothee, 30, as he smiled and laughed next to girlfriend Kylie Jenner, who arrived at the show dressed to the nines in a slinky red gown.

He joked about heightened security amid ongoing uncertainty in the world, pointing to an unexpected source of tension.

The former late night TV host quipped: “Security is extremely tight tonight…I’m told theres concerns about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities.”

He looked down at Timothee, who was giggling slightly.

Kylie, 28, shifted slightly in her seat, smiling although she looked slightly uncomfortable.

Conan then added: “They are just mad you left out jazz!”

Later in the show, the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend host circled back with Timothee, seemingly trying to smooth things over.

“I’m vibing with Timothee right now, we’re vibing, right?!” he asked, looking down at the Willy Wonka actor.

The camera did not pan to the star, but it doesn’t seem like he was feeling the same vibe.

Conan added: “He doesn’t think so, alright!”

At this point, Timothee must be somewhat used to the blowback.

He’s been taking heat for his comment for days now.

The Oscar-nominee was chatting with Matthew McConaughey at the University of Texas about efforts to preserve cinema back in February.

“I don’t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore’,” he said.

“All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there,” he added.

Since then, he’s taken heat from ballet and opera stars, as well as other big figures in Hollywood.

Steven Spielberg, for example, disagreed vehemently.

According to Page Six, he said of the arts during a 2026 SXSW panel: “At the end of a really good movie experience, we are all united with a whole bunch of feelings that we walks into the daylight with, or into the nighttime with.

Kylie has been by Timothee’s side – amid fierce backlash over his claims that no one cares about the ballet or opera – throughout the 2026 awards season, as he was a heavy favorite following his Golden Globes win against standouts Michael B. Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ethan Hawke.

He even gave a shoutout to the Kylie Cosmetics founder in his acceptance speech for Best Actor at the January 11 ceremony, saying, “For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much.”

Days earlier, Timothee, 30, again called out The Kardashians star, who shares daughter Stormi, 8, and son Aire, 4, with her ex, Travis Scott, while accepting the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor at the January 4 show.

“Lastly, I would like to say thank you to my partner of three years,” the Call Me by Your Name star said onstage.

“Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he concluded.

Kylie looked visibly touched by the sentiment, smiling and mouthing “I love you” back to him.

In December, Kylie showed support for Timothee on the red carpet of the film’s LA premiere, where they sported matching orange ensembles.

The mom of two rocked a dangerously low-cut, skintight dress with cut-outs along the midsection.

She paired the look with high heels, a chunky gold necklace, orange nails, and her long black hair flowing straight down.

Timothee wore pants, a button-down shirt, a jacket, and boots, accessorized with a black cross-body bag shaped like a ping pong paddle, as a nod to the film.

It was their first major public appearance together since rumors began that their relationship was on the rocks.

In October, fans believed there was trouble in paradise after they appeared to show a lack of affection toward one another while watching a New York Yankees game, with many accusing Kylie of “looking bored.”

Weeks earlier, Timothee was a no-show at Kylie’s mom, Kris Jenner’s, elaborate 70th birthday bash, fueling chatter that they were ready to call it quits.

In November, a source exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun that the couple were at odds over Timothee’s desire to keep their romance private, while Kylie wanted to share their love with the world.

The insider also claimed that Kylie had been “pressuring” Timothee about “cementing their relationship,” but the Wonka star wanted to focus on “fixing their issues.”

Kylie and Timothee first began dating in April 2023, although they didn’t make their public debut until they were spotted at a Beyoncé concert later that September.

They managed to keep their romance out of the public eye until they made their red carpet debut as a couple in May 2025 at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome.

Kylie had parted ways with her baby daddy, Travis, shortly before getting together with Timothee, and had previously been in a years-long relationship with rapper Tyga.

Timothee dated Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, whom he met on the set of the Netflix film The King, from 2018 to 2020.

Harry Styles fans convinced he’s singing about exes Kendall Jenner and Olivia Wilde on new album

HARRY Styles recently dropped his new album, Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, and fans have been in detective mode attempting to decode who his songs are about.

And they feel they’re worked some of the inspiration behind songs out, after decoding lyrics they describe as “heartbreaking”.

Harry’s new track Paint By Numbers sees him sing vulnerably, acknowledging a failed past relationship as well as the status of his own celebrity.

Among the difficulties of stardom and heartbreak, he’s reaching out for a glimpse of humanity.

He croons lyrics including: “It’s a little bit complicated when they put an image in your head, and now you’re stuck with it.”

But fans are convinced a later part of the song is directly reflecting on his relationship with former flame Olivia Wilde.

HARRY’S SHOW

Harry Styles announces new Netflix show after epic Brits performance

The part goes: “Holding the weight of the American children whose hearts you break.

“Was it a tragedy when you told her, ‘I’m not even 33’?”

The couple shared a ten year age gap, which the reference to not even being in his 30s could be pointing towards.

Fans also took to X to decode whether another track on the album called Season 2 Weight Loss is about his past relationship with Kendall Jenner.

Harry dated the model on and off for years in a messy situationship.

So hearing lyrics like: “Do you love me now?” instantly sent fans typing.

One fan gushed in response to the possible link: “HARRY STYLES OH MY GOD,” followed by some sobbing face emojis.

Though later in the song Harry sings about “coming back as a stronger version” of himself, possibly referencing the end of the cycle of on-and-off dating.

The deciphering comes after Harry’s tour ticket sales encountered frustrating mishaps for fans.

In addition to being set to perform 12 shows in Wembley Stadium, Harry had one gig booked at Manchester‘s Co-op Live in due to play this month.

Though many fans woke up to find their tickets to the event cancelled and refunded.

Ticketmaster released a statement on the decision to axe the tickets, explaining that some customers managed to purchase tickets they shouldn’t have been able to buy in the first place.

These include many of the £20 tickets which were later resold on other ticket selling sites, and therefore were no longer eligible for use at the venue.

Ticketmaster explained: “We’re working with the Harry Styles ‘One Night Only’ team to cancel and refund any orders that have violated the rules of sale.

“As all tickets are non-transferable, any tickets listed on unauthorised resale sites are void and will not get fans into the show – so we’re cancelling and refunding these.

“There is also a ticket limit of 2 tickets per person, so any orders above that are being cancelled and refunded.”

The majority of the voided tickets appear to have been sold on Viagogo.

Kylie, who is dating Oscar-nominated Dune actor Timothée Chalamet, said setting up her cosmetics firm was born of insecurity — especially about her lips.

It has also helped her amass a £540million fortune.

But Kylie appeared to dissolve her lip filler when she attended the Baftas in England.

She debuted a much more natural look at the event with her boyfriend Timothee by her side.

Kylie Jenner squirms at the Baftas as Alan Cummings makes filthy joke about her

The reality star and her actor partner were in attendance at the Baftas which were held at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

While they did not walk the red carpet together, they were seen sitting side-by-side during the ceremony.

In the snaps, Kylie’s face appeared more natural than usual, with her lips looking thinner.

After the images from the event circulated online, one person on social media asked, “She dissolve that lip?”

“She looks like her old self,” penned a second.

A third added, “She looks sm younger.”

“Her lips actually look normal here,” penned a fourth.

“Honestly she looks so much better than she has done recently,” wrote a fifth.

Kylie Jenner left grimacing as BAFTAs host Alan Cumming makes X-rated joke

Kylie Jenner did not look very impressed with one of Alan Cumming’s jokes at the BAFTA Film Awards, at which her boyfriend Timothee Chalamet lost out on the Best Actor award

Kylie Jenner was left squirming at a joke Alan Cumming made about her at the BAFTAs. The reality TV star did not look impressed with the awards’ host’s X-rated gag.

During the ceremony, Alan walked through the audience, offering them snacks. When he stopped by the seats that Kylie and her boyfriend Timothee Chalamet were sitting in, he asked the star: “Kylie, have you ever had your gums around a giant Jammie Dodger?”

Kylie shook her head and took the snack, looking visibly uncomfortable as she did so. She did not appear to be impressed by the double entendre, which earned only a few laughs from audience members.

Viewers at home also seemed to be unamused by Alan’s jokes. One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Alan Cummings’ jokes falling flat.” Another added: “Not funny. Not a good presenter. It’s just painful to watch and hear.”

“There is absolutely nothing funny about Alan Cumming? This whole opening monologue is toe-curlingly awkward,” a third fan said. A fourth added: “Alan Cumming is making me cringe already.” While a fifth said: “Will someone purleeze get Alan Cumming off the stage.”

The 60-year-old actor, writer and presenter – known for hosting the US version of The Traitors and starring in American drama The Good Wife – hosted the event at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London for the first time on Sunday.

Others said it was likely not Alan’s fault but that of the scriptwriters. “I’ve got a funny feeling Alan Cumming might have been lumbered with the same scriptwriter David Tennant had when he hosted- oh dear,” said one.

Though no more jokes were made about Kylie, the night did not improve for her boyfriend, as Timothee lost out on the Best Actor award. He had been nominated for his role as the titular character in Marty Supreme, but the award ended up going to Robert Aramayo, who won for his role as John Davidson in I Swear.

Robert also won the Rising Star award for the same role. That award is the only one voted for by the public, and by winning both that and Best Actor, Robert was the only actor of the night to win more than one award.

The other acting awards went to Jessie Buckley, who won Best Actress, Wunmi Mosaku, who won Best Supporting Actress, and Sean Penn, who won Best Supporting Actor but was not present to take home his award.

Though Kylie attended the awards, she was not seen on the red carpet and instead snuck in separately. The Kardashians star, 28, has been in a relationship with the actor, 30, since 2023. The couple have made a series of appearances during this year’s award season, including the Golden Globe Awards and the Critics’ Choice Awards.

It is believed Kylie often skips red carpets to avoid stealing her partner’s spotlight and also to keep their relationship private, opting instead to support him from the audience or enter through alternative, quieter, or back entrances. Last year, a source told Grazia Daily that another reason why the pair avoid walking the red carpet together could be that they want to keep their work and their personal relationship separate.
