May 26 (UPI) — A boat explosion on Memorial Day in Florida injured eleven people, including two children, according to Fort Lauderdale fire officials, who declared a “mass casualty incident.”
A total of 13 people were aboard the boat at the Lauderdale Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale when it exploded or caught fire near the New River Triangle sandbar around 5:45 p.m. EDT, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the yacht club, located along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The injured, including two children, were rushed to Broward General Hospital, with one burn victim flown by helicopter to Jackson Memorial-Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, according to first responders.
While there was no information on the conditions of those injured, first responders and witnesses said several people were in the water and others appeared to have suffered burns.
One witness, who lives nearby, told the Miami Herald he saw first responders treating a man.
“He was moving around and talking, but it seemed like he had severe burns on his arms because they had it wrapped in gauze and everything,” said Josh McCarty.
Other witnesses described the boat as a 40-foot motorboat, as investigators look into what may have caused the explosion or fire.
“There was this boat trying to leave the sandbar and when they went to start their boat up, it just exploded,” said witness Bret Triano.
“It was a huge fireball and people were kind of falling off the boat, so we were at the sandbar too, and we just tried to go help out.”

YOU’VE splashed out for a trip overseas, staying in a nice hotel with a bed that’s far more luxurious than the one you have at home.
Yet for some reason, your sleep couldn’t be worse. Sound familiar? You’re not alone.
Research by the Sleep Foundation found that the majority of people get less sleep in hotels than at home.
When asked where they slept best, a measly 13 per cent of people chose hotels compared with 65 per cent who chose their own bed.
Plus, only 54 per cent of people questioned said they got seven hours of sleep a night in a hotel.
“Hotel rooms can throw sleep patterns off with bright lighting, unfamiliar beds, and that ‘not-quite-home’ vibe,” says Joshua.
“Even if the bed is great, your brain is subconsciously on alert. It’s called the ‘first night effect’.”

“One half of your brain stays more vigilant in a new setting as a survival mechanism, especially during deep sleep stages,” adds Jules Goldberg, an expert in sleep health and technology and founder of sleep tech brands, Sleepwave and Snorelab.
Jet lag can play a role, but your production of the sleepy hormone melatonin can take a hit regardless of timezone.
Routine is key here, according to Joshua.
“Keeping your bedtime routine the same, even on the road, is one of the simplest ways to ease into sleep,” he says.
“Brush your teeth, do your skincare routine, read your usual two pages of a book. Do whatever tells your brain ‘it’s time for bed’.”
Jules adds: “Keep the room cool and dark. Try setting the temperature to around 18C, which is ideal for sleeping.
“And if the curtains don’t quite cut it, a sleep mask can help you block out the light.”
She also suggests bringing something familiar to the hotel.
“Whether it’s your pillowcase or a small item from home, that sense of familiarity can help signal to your brain that it’s time to switch off,” she says.
On a plane…

A LONG journey means a long snooze, right? Well, it’s not quite so easy.
Joshua says that sensory overload can make sleep very difficult.
Think loud noises, people talking and unless you’ve splashed out for business class, you’ll likely be in an upright, uncomfortable seat too.
Where possible, select your seat in advance – and choose wisely.
“A window seat away from foot traffic helps, and sitting over the engine can provide that steady white noise effect,” says Joshua.

The exact location of over-engine seats varies, but they’re typically in the middle, near the wings of the plane, or to the rear of the plane.
“Eye masks, neck pillows, warm socks and a blanket go a long way too,” says Joshua.
“And a proper travel pillow can stop your head from nodding and waking you up repeatedly,” adds Jules.
Wear loose clothing when you fly so that your movement isn’t restricted.
And if you have time before a flight, try to squeeze in some exercise, such as a brisk walk, jog or gym session.
Research published in the journal Advances in Preventive Medicine found that exercise improves sleep quality and duration.
In the car…

MUCH like in a plane, if you have a long car journey ahead, you might be planning a little sleep, if the driver doesn’t mind you dozing off!
For a decent rest, recline your seat slightly.
“Being fully upright makes it harder for your body to enter proper rest,” says Jules. “Even 15 to 20 degrees helps.”
As for background noise, go for calm, instrumental music.
“Ambient playlists work best,” says Jules. “But if you prefer, choose a chatty radio station as this may help you to drift off.
“Aim to keep your sleep short too – around 20 minutes maximum. You want to feel refreshed, not groggy.”
Whatever you do, make sure you’re safe and stay belted if you’re in a moving vehicle.
On the sofa…

BIG night ahead and want to bank some sleep so you can stay awake into the early hours?
“If you’re going for a tactical 3pm sofa snooze, aim for it to be around 20 minutes,” says Joshua.
“This is typically enough to recharge without dipping into deep sleep.
“Most of us take eight to 10 minutes to drift off, so set an alarm accordingly.”
While you can’t force sleep, you can create a peaceful, sleep-promoting environment.
“Even if you don’t fall fully asleep, a period of restful stillness can recharge you enough to feel sharper and more energised,” Jules says.
“Dim the lights as bright light confuses your internal clock, and do a short breathing exercise or body scan to calm your system.”

Avoid using screens before hitting the hay as this can exacerbate the symptoms of motion sickness as your brain is receiving conflicting signals from your eyes and inner ear about movement.
But, boat sleeping isn’t all bad. Joshua says that the gentle rocking can actually help support sleep.
“Plus, quite often, being at sea means you are governed by natural light, which can have positive effects on sleep as you align more closely to your natural circadian rhythm, aka your body clock,” he adds.
“We also tend to have reduced noise pollution and other environmental disturbances.
“Just make sure everything is tied down!”

WE all want to get good sleep at home.
While the NHS recommends we get seven to nine hours of sleep each night, half of Brits don’t get nearly enough, according to research by YouGov.
More than a third (34 per cent) struggled to drift off three or more times a week, and almost half (44 per cent) have called in sick to work because of extreme tiredness, research by Resmed shows.
Making your bedroom a sleep sanctuary goes a long way in improving your shut-eye.
“It’s about giving your brain the right signals,” Joshua says.
“For me, the bedroom is for sleep and, if the stars align, sex! That’s it. No TV, no laptop, no doom-scrolling.
“Otherwise, your brain won’t associate that space with winding down.”
You also don’t need to spend thousands of pounds on blackout blinds or fancy gadgets.
“Start with small steps, like an eye mask, a bit of down time before bed, even dimming the lights,” he adds.
“Stick to the same wake-up time (on weekends too) and get some morning sunlight.
“It’s the best natural reset for your body clock.”

Said to be Xpeng’s answer to “the AI [artificial intelligence] era in form and function”, the company has identified itself as an “AI-driven mobility company”.
Indeed, they’re positioning the new flagship P7 as a showcase for how AI can redefine the luxury car experience.
Details at this stage are scarce, but the previous P7 was described as “the world’s first AI-defined vehicle” and included highly advanced autonomous driving functions, as well as a ‘smart cockpit’ that included a Knight Rider-style voice assistant.
The next-gen model is expected to build on this, as well as introduce even more advanced capabilities.
Their ultimate aim is to stand out in China‘s increasingly crowded luxury saloon market – with the likes of the Avatr 12, Nio ET9 and Luxeed S7 all hoping to be big sellers.
Regarding the upcoming P7’s new styling, Xpeng’s Exterior Design Director Rafik Ferrag told Autocar: “With this new generation, we set out to design a pure-electric sports sedan that could amaze at every angle.
“This car is our dream – refined through countless iterations.
“In my eyes, the all-new Xpeng P7 is a work of art, shaped with emotion and purpose.”
It’s currently unknown if the P7 will be sold outside of China – with more details to follow.

Even as their pitching injuries have mounted in recent weeks, the Dodgers haven’t panicked.
On multiple occasions, team officials have noted how none of the seven pitchers who have gotten hurt since the end of spring camp suffered relatively serious injuries. In time, they promised, the staff would get back close to full health.
On Tuesday, signs of that optimism finally began to appear.
Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell (both out with shoulder inflammation) continued their throwing progressions, with Glasnow making some light pitches off a mound slope for the first time since going on the injured list last month, according to manager Dave Roberts.
Kirby Yates (hamstring strain) began playing catch just days after hitting the IL, raising his hopes of being back within the two-to-four week time frame the team has targeted. Blake Treinen (forearm sprain) also continued his catch play, while Michael Kopech (shoulder impingement) was set to make a rehab outing with triple-A Oklahoma City.
Most of all, though, Shohei Ohtani checked off another important box in his return from a 2023 Tommy John surgery, taking another step closer to resuming two-way duties for the first time as a Dodger.
In a flat-ground throwing session Tuesday afternoon, Ohtani mixed in some breaking pitches for the first time in his throwing program this year, Roberts said, a notable development after the right-hander had been limited to fastball and splitters previously in pitching activities.
Already in recent weeks, Ohtani had been ramping up his pitching work in other ways. He had steadily increased the number of throws in his weekly bullpen sessions, getting up to 50 last Saturday. He has been doing up-downs in his bullpens, too, to simulate the downtime he will experience between innings when he returns to a big-league mound.
Roberts confirmed it is all a sign that Ohtani is finally getting closer to facing live hitting again for the first time since he underwent his second Tommy John procedure two offseasons ago.
Roberts said he was still unsure exactly when that might happen, but indicated that Ohtani and Snell are on similar timelines to return — with Glasnow a tick ahead of each of them.
“It is progressing,” Roberts said of Ohtani’s pitching rehab, which had been in more of a static stage with weekly 20-pitch bullpen sessions earlier this year. “I’m not sure when [he’s] going to take that slider from the flat ground to the bullpen, but that is progress. Yes.”
Right now, the Dodgers could use all the pitching help they can get.
Over their last 11 games, the team’s shorthanded pitching staff has struggled mightily, posting a 6.31 ERA over a 4-7 stretch that included a four-game losing streak entering Tuesday.
Among the opening day rotation, only Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Dustin May have stayed healthy through the first two months. And outside of Yamamoto — an early-season Cy Young candidate who was needed to be a stopper Tuesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks — no Dodgers pitcher with more than three starts has a sub-4.00 ERA to this point of the campaign.
The rotation’s struggles have bled into the bullpen, where Dodgers relievers have combined for an MLB-high 207 2/3 innings this season, 19 more than any other team. Closer Tanner Scott has been solid, with a 1.74 ERA and nine saves in 11 opportunities. But many of the Dodgers’ other top relief arms have gotten hurt, including virtually all of their most trusted right-handers.
“It’s not the staff we thought we’d have this season,” Roberts acknowledged Monday night.
Before long, however, the Dodgers are hopeful it will be again.
In addition to Ohtani, Snell and Glasnow, the Dodgers will also eventually get Roki Sasaki (shoulder impingement) and Emmet Sheehan (Tommy John recovery) back as rotation options. Sasaki is expected to begin throwing again during the team’s upcoming trip. Sheehan has been throwing live sessions against hitters for the last several weeks as he works back from last year’s elbow procedure.

About the only injured pitcher who hasn’t made recent progress is Evan Phillips, whose original 15-day diagnosis now looks likely to stretch far longer than that.
Still, no one’s return has been more eagerly anticipated than Ohtani’s. After almost a year and a half of waiting, the Dodgers are hopeful his return, which has been expected to come around the All-Star break, is finally on the horizon.
His next step will be facing live hitting. And given his recent workload increases, it’s possible it could come soon.
“I really wish I had an answer [on when it will be],” Roberts said. “I’m just waiting for the green light from people that are sort of managing the Shohei rehab, day to day.”

Opting to buy your new garden furniture or items on sale could save you a lot of money.
Most retailers start discounting garden items after summer and will run promotions over the winter, but be aware stock can be far more limited during this time.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.
Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.

Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story, a recent addition to Netflix, has left viewers shocked with its chilling revelations about the infamous case.
The notorious serial killer couple managed to evade detection for years due to missed opportunities by various agencies that allowed them to slip under the radar.
It was only when police began investigating reports of Fred West sexually assaulting a child that the pair’s horrifying crimes were finally brought to light, revealing the gruesome secrets hidden within their family home at 25 Cromwell Street.

During police questioning, Fred confessed to a minimum of 12 murders. Among his earliest victims were nanny Ann McFall, his first wife Catherine ‘Rena’ Costello, and their daughter Charmaine, reports Gloucestershire Live.
When police commenced excavations at 25 Cromwell Street, now infamously known as the ‘house of horrors’, they discovered the remains of nine women. Among the unearthed remains was Heather, Fred and Rose West’s daughter who had been missing since 1987 and was the first body to be discovered.
The other victims found at the property included Shirley Robinson, Alison Chambers, Thérèse Siegenthaler, Shirley Hubbard, Lucy Partington, Juanita Mott, Lynda Gough, and Carole Ann Cooper. Fred and Rose targeted vulnerable women, typically runaways or hitchhikers without any guardians.
The duo were jointly accused of murdering 10 individuals, but Fred took his own life in jail before he could stand trial. Rose was convicted for the murders of 10 young women and children, including her own daughter Heather and step-daughter Charmaine.
In 1995, she was given 10 life sentences, with former Home Secretary Jack Straw ruling that she should spend the rest of her days behind bars. Currently, Rose is incarcerated at HM Prison New Hall and continues to assert her innocence.

Ann McFall – The nanny employed to care for Fred and Rena’s children is believed to be their first victim, having relocated from Glasgow to Gloucester. Her remains, along with those of her unborn child fathered by Fred, were discovered in a field in Kempley, near Fred’s birthplace of Much Marcle, Herefordshire.
Catherine ‘Rena’ Costello – Fred’s first wife and mother to Charmaine and Anne Marie. They wed in 1962, but she left Fred in 1969 amid allegations of sexual abuse and violence. Her remains were also found in a field in Kempley, close to where Ann McFall’s body was discovered.
Charmaine West – At just eight years old, Charmaine was killed by Rose while Fred was serving a prison sentence for stealing a vehicle tax disc and car tyres. Her remains were unearthed at the couple’s former residence at 25 Midland Road, Gloucester.
Lynda Gough – She vanished in 1973 after striking up a friendship with lodgers at 25 Cromwell Street. Tragically, she was found buried beneath a bathroom at the property.
Carole Ann Cooper – She was residing at a children’s home and had been visiting her grandmother over the weekend when she disappeared in 1973 after getting on a bus to return home. Despite police efforts, they were unable to locate her and her remains were discovered in the cellar of 25 Cromwell Street. The authorities believed Fred and Rose picked her up while she was hitchhiking.
Lucy Partington – She went missing in 1973 after leaving a friend’s house and it is believed that the couple picked her up while she was waiting for a bus to go home. Her remains were discovered in the cellar of 25 Cromwell Street.
Thérèse Siegenthaler – The Swiss-born student was studying and working in London. She vanished in 1974 while hitch-hiking to visit a friend in Ireland. A search by the Metropolitan Police proved fruitless and she was found in the cellar of 25 Cromwell Street.
Shirley Hubbard – At just 15, she was the youngest of the couple’s victims and was in care at the time of her disappearance. She was doing work experience at a shop and heading home afterwards in 1974, but was never seen again with police finding her remains in the cellar of the couple’s home.

Juanita Mott – She was thought to be travelling to Gloucester but vanished the day before a friend’s wedding in 1975. Despite her disappearance not being reported to the police, her family reached out to the Missing Persons Bureau and the media, but to no avail. She was discovered in the basement of 25 Cromwell Street.
Shirley Robinson – She lodged at 25 Cromwell Street and became pregnant with Fred’s baby. She was last seen alive eight months pregnant in 1978, with her body and that of her unborn child found buried in the garden.
Alison Chambers – She resided at a children’s home and was known to visit 25 Cromwell Street regularly. She vanished in 1979 and her remains were discovered in the garden of the property.
Heather West – The eldest daughter of Fred and Rose was killed when she was 1987. It is believed she was murdered for attempting to defend herself and others from her father’s advances, threatening to report the abuse to the police.
She is considered to be the couple’s final victim. Her body was interred under the patio, with Fred and Rose making a macabre joke about it, warning their other children they would meet a similar end if they misbehaved. This cruel jest was taken seriously by the police and led to the start of the horrifying discoveries at 25 Cromwell Street.

The main difference here is the 6.1-inch screen, as opposed to the 6.7-inch of the Pro Max.
A smaller phone means a smaller battery, and so the iPhone 13 Pro offers up to 22 hours of video playback on a single charge (the Pro Max should last up to 28 hours).
All in all, the iPhone 13 Pro is still a serious flagship device, and if you don’t mind a smaller screen, it’s worth scoring a saving.

The iPhone 12 is essentially that, minus a few perks reserved for the Pro and Pro Max. The screen size of the iPhone 12 is the same as the Pro, together with its A14 Bionic chip processor and 5G connectivity.
The iPhone 12 has two front cameras instead of four, however, and its RAM is 4GB against the 6GB of the Pro and Pro Max.
The optical range of the iPhone 12 is 2X, and the device does not have LiDAR scanner capabilities included in newer models.

While it still has many of the same features as its Pro and Pro Max variants, the iPhone 11’s £429 price is over £100 cheaper than the iPhone 12.
A reduction in price does mean a slight reduction in quality: while its 6.1″ screen is slightly larger than the iPhone 11 Pro, it’s a little smaller than the Pro Max, and it doesn’t match the premium models for battery life either,
As well as having a standard LED (as opposed to an OLED) screen, the 11 is only waterproof to two metres rather than four and lacks the telephoto camera that features on the Pro and Pro Max.
However, you still get most of Apple’s most recent innovations for a reduced price, including top-quality cameras, processors and a long-lasting battery.
While there are phones out there with more impressive features, such as the cameras on a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, you’ll struggle to beat the mix of features and value they offer.

While not quite up to the standard of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, 2018’s flagship phone is an impressive piece of kit.
It’s got a 6.5″ screen, a 7MP HD camera that will shoot 4K video and a range of camera effects, such as Bokeh for those all-important selfies.
Battery life is very decent, and the XS Max comes with Face ID.
It’s expected that Apple will continue to support this model with iOS updates up to 2025, so it’s one to buy if you want a cheap phone now and don’t mind using it for a shorter period.

Are refurbished iPhones a good buy?
Getting a refurbished iPhone can be a big cost saver.
Even the more affordable iPhones will be a hefty hit to your bank balance if you pay for them outright.

iPhone prices vary based on the model and storage capacity.
Flagship phones from Apple always come with a hefty price tag to match, so if you’re looking for the recent releases – the iPhone 16 Pro Max – you’ll be looking at spending £1,199, while the Pro version costs £999.
The iPhone 16e is priced at £599, the iPhone 16 starts at £799, and the larger iPhone 16 Plus starts at £899.
The iPhone 15 is also available, and prices start from £699, and the iPhone 15 Plus prices start from £799.
What’s the cheapest way to buy an iPhone?
Picking the right time of the year can surely help you save some money.
Apple does not offer substantial discounts at any specific point during the year, but network retailers’ prices usually go down at the beginning of the summer and at Christmas time.
This way, even if you don’t save on the iPhone per se, you can get some heavy discounts on your data and calls to plan, thus saving you quite a bit of cash in the long run.

Is it better to buy an iPhone outright or pay monthly?
It really depends on whether you need flexibility on your plan or not and if you have the cash to pay for the full cost of the handset (phone) upfront.
While you can save on a good data plan, you are also signing a contract binding you to that network for one or more years.
This means that, even if you find a better plan deal later, you cannot switch to it unless you pay hefty fees.
On the other hand, many providers today offer handy upgrade plans allowing you to get a new iPhone as soon as it comes out.
The choice, then, is ultimately up to you.
If you have the cash and think of changing your network plan quite often, then buying an iPhone outright may be the best option for you.
If, on the other hand, you’re happy with a certain network provider and always want to have the latest iPhone, a monthly offer may work better for you.
Is it better to buy an iPhone from Apple or a network?
Both Apple and network carriers today offer monthly, no-money-down instalment plans, most of them spread over two years.
While the overall price of iPhones is essentially the same when purchased like this, Apple charges a little more to include AppleCare+ or AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss options, while network providers offer various insurance plans.
That being said, an iPhone bought from Apple can be used with any network, while carriers usually lock their iPhones for the length of their contract so it may be the slightly better option if you’re still shopping around for the perfect SIM-only plan.
Which is better: an iPhone or a Samsung phone?
Galaxy devices have gone a long way since the days of the first Android phones, but can they compete with iPhones?
The short answer is yes, but it depends on what you value the most.
In terms of screen, cameras, and prices, the latest iPhones and Galaxy phones are toe-to-toe.
The biggest difference here is undoubtedly the operating system (OS).
If you have other Apple devices in the house (like Macs and iPads), then iOS can provide great integration capabilities.
Similarly, if you have an Android TV or Chromebook, you may want to opt for a Galaxy phone.

A live goldfish and a chainsaw are among the strangest items discovered by UK airport security.
It’s not just oversized liquids and uncharged phones that can get you stopped at security. There are plenty more unusual objects that can and have ended up with security staff raising their eyebrows and conducting an extra thorough search.
The travel experts at luggage storage network Bounce.com have put together a list of the most unusual things that have been fished out of bags while passengers move through security. Here are some of the strangest.
A sweet jar containing live goldfish at London Stansted Airport
Security officers were stunned to find a jar of sweets containing a pair of live goldfish swimming inside. Transporting live animals in hand luggage is strictly prohibited, especially in unconventional containers.

A snow glo
Though it may seem silly, snow globes often exceed the liquid limit for carry-on luggage and are, therefore, not allowed through airport security. One passenger’s snow globe souvenir was flagged during screening, reminding travelers that even decorative items can violate airport rules.
A chainsaw at East Midlands International Airport
One traveler at East Midlands Airport thought it would be fine to pack a chainsaw in their hand luggage. It obviously didn’t make it past security, as tools and sharp equipment like this are forbidden in cabin bags. Remember – don’t try to bring a chainsaw with you in your hang luggage with you the next time you head on holiday.
A suitcase full of pork pies at Leeds Bradford Airport
Border staff were surprised when an entire suitcase was found packed exclusively with pork pies. Transporting large quantities of food, especially meat products, can raise questions from airport security officials, as bringing meat into Great Britain from the EU is illegal.
Pickled gherkins in vinegar (680g) at London City Airport
Pickled gherkins might be some travelers’ guilty pleasure, but it’s not something security staff will be happy to see if brought on in such large quantities. Hopefully they didn’t ask the passengers to down the errant liquid.

Looking outside of the UK, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has also confiscated some unusual items. Items such as a boa constrictor, antique cannon balls, and maggots in a suitcase are among the more uncommon things confiscated in US airports like Tampa International, Kahului, Regional, and LaGuardia
When it comes to airport security, most confiscated items are exactly what you’d expect. Despite the 100ml liquids rule being in place for almost 20 years, this is the number one offender of the most frequently seized belongings at UK airports.
The most binned items at UK airports include:
Perfume, aftershave, and fragrance bottles that are more than 100ml
Toiletries over 100ml, including toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner
Drinks that are more than 100ml, such as bottles of water and energy drinks
Condiments and spreads, including jam, peanut butter, and Marmite
Makeup and skincare products that are classified as liquids, e.g., lip gloss, face masks, and sun cream
Razors, scissors, and multi-tools, which are often left in carry-on luggage by accident
Cigarette lighters often, passengers are unaware of the rule that you can only carry one per person. At East Midlands Airport, staff confiscate around 300 items a month, whereas Manchester Airport once seized almost 400 items in a single morning, including 284 cigarette lighters.
UK airport security officials aren’t permitted to take confiscated items home for personal use. UK airports have strict policies on this, and security areas are usually monitored.
Liquids, perishables, and anything that exceeds the 100ml rule are generally binned and destroyed on-site at the airport due to safety and hygiene reasons. These types of items are treated as waste and aren’t usually recycled due to the risk of contamination. They’re auctioned off or donated to charity.
Gadgets such as hair curlers, power bank chargers, and multi-use tools are often kept to be auctioned off or donated to charity if left unclaimed. For example, John Pye Auctions regularly lists confiscated airport items in bulk, such as electrical goods or even designer accessories.
Some third-party auction houses also group together these confiscated items into mystery bundles to sell to the public.
To ensure nonhazardous items are disposed of more sustainably, some UK airports have partnerships with recycling management companies. For example, London Gatwick and London Heathrow airports have a partnership with Grundon Waste Management. Also, Gatwick is home to the UK’s first airport-based waste plant.

Available in shops nationwide from tomorrow, May 15, the new menu includes a Red Pepper, Feta & Spinach Bake, which has already been dubbed “lush” by excited followers on Instagram.
The Mediterranean-style pastry will cost £2.10.
For coffee lovers, the new Caramelised Biscuit Latte is proving to be the star of the show.
Available hot from £2.75 or iced from £3.10, it’s inspired by the popular Lotus Biscoff biscuit.
Greggs has also upped its hot sandwich offering, introducing a new Korean Chicken range.
It features a Korean Crispy Chicken Burger from £4, a BBQ Chicken Wrap from £3.80, and a Spicy Korean BBQ Chicken Baguette from £3.60 – all part of its Hot Sandwich, Wedges & Drink Deal.
A new Chicken, Sweetcorn and Red Onion Pizza slice is also joining the menu, priced from £2.40, available as part of Greggs’ after-4pm Pizza Deal.
On the sweeter side, there’s a Lemon Meringue Muffin from £1.55, which can be paired with a hot drink in a meal deal.
Customers can also pick up Plenish wellness shots, with Ginger Immunity and Turmeric Recovery options both priced at £1.55 and a fat-free Greek Style Yogurt with Strawberry Compote, priced from £1.55.
The new menu is available for in-store purchase, click and collect via the Greggs app, and delivery through Just Eat and Uber Eats.
Greggs posted the announcement online with the caption: “Babe wake up, Greggs summer menu just dropped!!”
Fans shared their excitement for the new menu.
One customer wrote: “That biscuit latte looks so good”, others agreed saying: “the latte looks amazing”.
A third said: “could really go for that lemon muffin”.
Whilst another added: “need that chicken sandwich, yum”.
But not everyone is thrilled by the new launch.
Comments were quickly flooded with complaints from fans asking where the vegan options were.
“This is so disappointing, where’s the vegan stuff?” one user asked.
Another added: “Give the vegans what they want for gods sake.”
Customers were hoping the veganuary menu signalled a long-term commitment to expanding Greggs’ vegan offering, but many have been left disappointed by its absence from the summer launch.

FREE FOOTBALL COACHING
McDonald’s runs free football classes for children aged 5 to 11 years old.
The programme lasts for 10 weeks and usually runs for an hour.
The event is hosted at local stadiums across the UK.
The sessions, which are open to all abilities, are running from March to July.
They are delivered by FA-qualified coaches at more than 1,600 locations nationwide.

Music charity Vache Baroque runs a completely free summer camp for children in St Giles.

They can also take part in an optional performance with professional orchestra in its summer circus-opera on Sunday September 7.

What help is available for parents?
CHILDCARE can be a costly business. Here is how you can get help.
30 hours free childcare – Parents of three and four-year-olds can apply for 30 hours free childcare a week. To qualify you must usually work at least 16 hours a week at the national living or minimum wage and earn less than £100,000 a year.
Tax credits – For children under 20, some families can get help with childcare costs.
Childcare vouchers – If your employer offers childcare vouchers you can get up to £55 a week in tax and national insurance savings. You pay for your childcare before your tax contributions are taken out. This scheme is open to new joiners until October 4, 2018, when it is planned that tax-free childcare will replace the vouchers.
Tax-free childcare – Available to working families and the self-employed, for every £8 you put in the government will add an extra £2.
