Hilarious BBC blunder as live performance by legendary band Pulp is wrongly subtitled with lines from Miss Marple

A SONG by Pulp was wrongly subtitled with lines from Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple in a BBC blunder.

Phrases such as “Morning, Miss Marple. How’s the leg?” accompanied Jarvis Cocker.

Hard-of-hearing viewers were baffled as the frontman belted out Spike Island at the Mercury Prize awards ceremony on Thursday night.

Subtitles as he prowled the stage included, “Oooh then… Then the secretary girl came up with Heather Babcock”.

He also appeared to sing, “Dr Haydock, I would be very distressed if I thought you believed”, as well as “On and on she went” and “Honestly, she did go on so!”

Jarvis, 62, later posted snaps online, and wrote: “It appears our performance was accompanied by…… the subtitles to an episode of Miss Marple!”

The singer, quizzed by police when he wiggled his bum at Michael Jackson at the 1996 Brit Awards, wrote: “Whodunnit?”

He added: “I suspect the butler….”

Fans lapped it up, with some saying they could be real Pulp lyrics.

Another joked, in the style of 1995 classic Common People: “Miss Marple from St Mary Mead she had a thirst for sleuthing.”

Christie’s 1980 movie The Mirror Crack’d, with Angela Lansbury as Miss Marple, was shown earlier on BBC4.

Pulp were up for the award with new album More — but Sam Fender won for People Watching.

Buyers spot hilarious fail in Rightmove home listing – and it’s impossible not to spot

A FOUR-BEDROOM property in Dunfermline, is making the internet laugh for all the wrong reasons.

The Rightmove home has gone viral for photoshopping cars to a listing photo that look like they’ve been “stuck on with Pritt Stick.”

A living room with a purple wall, fireplace, floral couches, and a patterned rug.

3

The living room that looks like its straight from a video game

What was meant to advertise a family home has instead become an internet meme.

On the market for £295,000 the house should be inviting and comforting but the listing makes it hard to see past the comedic value.

Instead, the photos look like a school art project.

The cars have been awkwardly stuck on the image to look as though they are “parked” on the driveway.

The photo, presumably there to show the spaciousness of the driveway, has done its job however.

The Emoov agent told Metro that the vendor had organised “quite a few viewings” off the back of the listing.

One social media user even noted: “Room for 4 or 5 cars but they only photoshopped 3 in!”

A kitchen with white cabinets, a black counter, and a table with a bowl of dried fruit.

3

A high resolution photograph of the kitchen

The photographs of the interior are so saturated that the glow almost makes them look like stills from a video game.

Another person joked that the photos themselves “look like they were taken on a Game Boy,” in reference to the low-resolution, pixelated quality of some shots.

Reddit commenters called it “the worst Photoshop effort I’ve seen on Rightmove.”

Others compared the images to a “Sims build gone wrong.”

Each photograph showcases another bizarre detail, turning what should be a standard property listing into a hilarious set of meme-worthy pictures.

Rather than envisioning their future in living in the home, viewers are laughing at stuck on cars, gleaming interiors, and grainy, Game Boy–style images.

The Scottish property proves that in the age of social media, sloppy picture editing will get far more views than the actual listing.

A spokesperson for Emoov said: “As an online estate agent, our vendors manage their own property sale—conducting viewings and creating their listings.

“Unless vendors choose our professional photography package, the photos are taken (and, as in this case, edited) by the sellers themselves.

“The images in question were supplied entirely by the vendor and not produced by Emoov.

“Vendors are free to use whichever images they prefer, however creative they choose to be.

“It seems this vendor enjoyed a weekend of virtual arts and crafts and decided to put the results on display!”

Whether or not the comical advertising works and property eventually finds a buyer, this house will be remembered and laughed about for a long time.

A bedroom with one wall covered in wallpaper depicting historical buildings, a double bed, a floral armchair, and a window with dark curtains.

3

A bedroom with bold interiors

This comes following last month’s Open House Festival during which Rightmove opened the doors to some of London’s most interesting and aesthetic houses.

Each year, over 700 properties, buildings and other sites of architectural significance across London’s 33 boroughs open their doors with many said to be a “once in a lifetime visit”.

Mark was stood up presenting a link, when Olly decided to run around the desk and yank his mate’s shorts, leaving him standing there in his black briefs.

Trying not to break his composure, Mark continued with the segment, telling viewers how they could get tickets to watch Lewis Capaldi as Olly laughed in the background.

As soon as he could, he then hastily pulled his shorts back up and turned off his mic so viewers couldn’t hear him scolding his friend.

“What you doing?” Mark fumed. “What are you doing? I’m live on the radio, you dope!”

Olly still couldn’t contain his laughter, but held his arms up in the air and said: “I’m sorry!”

Olly then shared the video of the funny moment to his instagram page, with the caption: pulled “Wrighty’s pants down live on air. Sorry mate… couldn’t resist…”

Mark also shared the footage to his account too, proving he eventually saw the funny side.

And a host of the pair’s fans loved it too, sharing their enthusiasm in the comments.

“Now this is just too funny and no one’s saying they haven’t watched this more than once,” one wrote.

“Honestly, you two he needs to get you back. I love how unfazed he is,” another said.

“How he aint murdered you yet I don’t know,” laughed a third, while another commented that it was “lucky Mark wasn’t going commando.”

Even Billie Faiers, who starred with Mark on Towie, commented with a string of crying laughing emojis.

Mark and Olly have been firm friends for years and launched their own show together on Heart back in March.

They have enjoyed ribbing each other throughout their friendship.

Just last month, in an interview with The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine, Olly joked that Mark was jealous of his six pack.

Olly said: “[Mark] was getting really jealous. He said: ‘Oh my God, Olly, you gotta stop looking good because I ain’t in the gym as much as I used to be!”

Earlier this month Olly became a dad for the second time when wife Amelia Tank welcomed a son named Albert.

The pair are already parents to daughter Madison, who was born in April last year.

Mark and his wife Michelle Keegan became parents themselves earlier this year with daughter Palma coming into the world on March 6.

Joe Swash left with hilarious rude tattoo on finger after present for Stacey goes wrong

Joe Swash didn’t have much luck when he tried to give wife Stacey Solomon a present for Valentine’s Day but it made the family laugh

Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon attend the ITV Palooza 2019 at The Royal Festival Hall on November 12, 2019 in London, England.

It was meant to be a declaration of his love for wife Stacey Solomon. But Joe Swash left his partner and their family in stitches after getting a tattoo on his finger.

The tattoo is meant to show a love heart that Stacey uses on social media alongside the letter S as a symbol of his love. But once he put his wedding band back over the top, the tattoo looks very different.

Stacey and husband Joe Swash continue to do well and are loved by TV viewers thanks in part to their family reality show on BBC1 and their down to earth nature. A second series of BBC’s Stacey And Joe began tonight.

Joe Swash's tattoo
A close up of how the tattoo looks with his wedding ring on

Explaining how much he loves her, Joe, 43, tells viewers: “She’s got just the most morally moral compass. Is that a word? The most morally moral compass I’ve ever come across. I want to show Stacy how much I appreciate her, and I think the best way to do that is to use my body as a canvas. I’m hoping she’s gonna love it.

“It is all good intentions but things don’t ever work out how I expect them to.”

In the second episode Joe then gets a tattoo for Valentine’s Day to show his love for her, but when he puts his wedding band back on over the ink, it makes the tattoo look like a man’s private parts.

“It’s not as romantic as I thought it was going to be,” admits Joe. “I knew it looked like a p*nis, I just didn’t want to believe it. It is a bit like a Transformer, it starts off as a truck and then when you put the ring on it looks like a c*ck and balls. Are we allowed to say that on the BBC?”

Joe tries to take Stacey on a romantic sunset date away from the kids during the skiing trip.

After she is shown the tattoo, Stacey burst out laughing: “That’s not the same as mine. Why did you draw a p*nis.

“Start thinking of a bigger design. Why didn’t you just get the name?”

Stacey had previously got a tattoo for Joe on her finger in 2023, with his name spelled out and joked it was her “midlife crisis” moment.

Despite the odd looking tattoo, Stacey is still impressed by the gesture. Hugging Joe, Stacey says: “Being married to you is a constant turn of event when I feel special.”

This is not Joe’s first tattoo and he has now ended up with three tattoos, none of which are perfect. As he was getting the third one done he explained: “My experience with tattoos ain’t great, so I’ve got one on my back. That was like for my dad, it said, Protected in love from above’ but it reminds me of Shooting Stars[TV show] like the dove from above and also the tattoo, sort of like dips into my bum, so it is a bit like I have farted it out.

“The other one I got when I was on holiday with the boys. I got drunk on an 18-30s holiday, and my mate’s paid for me to have a tattoo, it says something in Hebrew on my hip here.

“I haven’t really looked into what it says. I can only imagine It’s not something lovely. Why? Why anything? Why did I trust my friends? Why was I so drunk? Where was my mum looking out for me?”

Stacey and Joe married in 2022 and have been together nine years. They have filmed more of their home life for the BBC. After rising to fame on the X Factor in 2009, Loose Women star Stacey has become a national treasure and is best known for her bubbly personality and as the Instagram DIY queen.

She keeps her social media followers in the loop as she has transformed Pickle Cottage into a family home.

As well as her dream home which features in the series, Stacey has the dream family life too with former EastEnders actor fiancé Joe Swash, and her five children; Zachary, 17, Leighton, 13, Rex, six, Rose, three, and Belle, two.

In the opening episode she told how she thought she has “had her last baby”.

The cameras showed their youngest Belle going to nursery. And Stacey admits she gets “sad” as the kids grow up.

“Another one flies the nest. All the kids are at school, and we can have a lot of fun,” says Joe before asking: “D’you think that’s our last baby?”

Stacey replied: “I think that’s our last baby, bubs.”

Joe said: “I think what we need to do is start looking forward to the future bits of the kids growing up instead of it being like ‘awww’.”

Stacey replied: “Yeah, that’s why I’m getting more animals, to be honest with you!”

* Stacey And Joe is on BBC1 on Tuesday nights at 7pm and available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Hilarious moment Donald Trump’s golf caddie appears to subtly drop ball in prime spot before he arrives to take shot – The Sun

THIS is the hilarious moment Donald Trump’s golf caddy appears to drop his ball into a prime spot before he takes his shot.

A video clip has emerged which shows two golf caddies alongside the US President as he drives a golf cart around Turnberry’s Ailsa course, in Scotland.

He donned a white USA baseball cap and was joined by his son Eric.

Trump, 79, is seen being escorted down to the course, with a convoy of 20 other carts following close behind.

The caddies go ahead of the US leaser and one appears to try and secretly place a golf ball on the ground.

The President then gets out and claims to have made the shot himself.

Trump waves for cameras on the third green at the southeast end of the course before the party moves on.

One person who watched the footage circulating on X wrote: “Caddy did that so smoothly. Can only imagine how many times he’s done it.”

“I want to know how he finds caddies to do that for him,” added another.

This comes as the US President arrived aboard Air Force One at around 8.30pm on Friday for his five-day private visit to Bonnie Scotland.

After waving to the crowds, he was welcomed by Scottish Secretary Ian Murray before being whisked to his luxury Turnberry resort 20 miles down the Ayrshire coast.

Villagers waved as the convoy passed through nearby Kirkoswald and later arrived at the resort at around 9.30pm.

And he wasted no time in taking to the green after being seen teeing off at the luxury resort.

Several protests were planned, with opponents of Mr Trump gathering in both Edinburgh and Aberdeen earlier this week.

The Stop Trump coalition has planned what it has described as being a “festival of resistance”.

Activists also shut down the Forth Road Bridge in South Queensferry as part of a huge protest ahead of Trump’s visit.

Climate campaigners from Greenpeace confirmed that 10 activists abseiled from the massive 156m bridge to block an INEOS tanker.

A large number of police and military personnel were seen searching the grounds at the golf resort to ensure Mr Trump’s safety before he teed off.

A high-profile security operation was in full swing with land, sea and air coverage from police and security services while a number of guests were checked over.

Secret service agents with sniffer dogs checked bushes as snipers were positioned on a platform on the edge of the course and the roof of the hotel.

Uniformed and plain clothes cops guarded all access points to the course, including roads, footpaths and the beach.

Amid the search, a few golfers were also spotted at the course, enjoying an early-morning game.

A number of onlookers had gathered at the entrance to Turnberry hoping to catch a glimpse of the game.

But they were not let anywhere near.

Police also had road closures in place, with limited access for locals and members of the media.

Upon his arrival, Mr Trump told reporters: “There’s no place like Turnberry. It’s the best course in the world.”

As well as visiting Trump Turnberry, Mr Trump will later head to Aberdeenshire and visit his golf resort in Balmedie.

During his stay, he will officially open his second course at Menie, named in honour of his late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod.

His visit is expected to last until Tuesday, July 29.

The President is also scheduled to meet Scottish First Minister John Swinney and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during his trip.

After landing in Scotland, Mr Trump said the “invasion” of migrants is “killing” Europe and told the leaders to “get their act together”.

But when asked about illegal immigration, Mr Trump said a “horrible invasion” was taking place in Europe which needs to stop.

He said: “On immigration, you better get your act together.

“You’re not going to have Europe anymore, you’ve got to get your act together.

“As you know, last month we had nobody entering our country – nobody, [we] shut it down.”

He added: “You’ve got to stop this horrible invasion that’s happening to Europe.”

Mr Trump, who made a crackdown on illegal immigration a major policy in his second term at the White House, boasted: “Last month we had nobody entering our country.”

A massive £5million security operation has been rolled out to ensure his safety, with around 6,000 police officers drafted in from across the UK to support the efforts.

We previously told how police and security services assessed fears that Trump could be assassinated during his visit to Scotland after he survived an attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania last year.

David Threadgold, General Secretary of the Scottish Police Federation, said “a huge amount of threat assessment and intelligence gathering” took place ahead of the visit.
