Big Brother fans ‘work out’ which iconic housemate is returning in game-changing twist

Big Brother’s AJ and Will announced the biggest game changing twist yet, as they revealed two new arrivals will be entering the house in a game changing twist

Tonight, the Big Brother house saw it’s second live eviction as Cameron B was evicted. However, it wasn’t the only huge event tonight, as AJ Odudu and Will Best announced at the start of the live show that Big Brother would see yet another huge twist.

The 25th anniversary show started off with a bang, as the evil eyes continue to cause chaos around the house. The first shock twist came during launch night when Emily was the first housemate to be evicted in a short but sweet stay.

Now, AJ and Will have made the shock announcement that the show will gain two new arrivals next Friday – but they’re not any old arrivals.

In fact, Will and AJ announced that the two new arrivals were people that had left the Big Brother house too soon – but who will they be?

They won’t be alone, as one current housemate will be with them. On Big Brother’s Late and Live tonight, Will and AJ announced housemates would be nominating on Monday. Housemates will believe viewers are voting to evict – but the evicted housemate won’t leave.

Instead they’ll be whisked away to a secret room with the two former housemates. But who will they be?

Tonight, Will gave away a huge clue, revealing that the housemates are one’s that “left too soon.”

While many think Emily from this series are returning, others are convinced Farida Khalifa from ITV’s first series in 2023, will be returning. Farida was the first housemate to be evicted, with many fuming with her early departure.

But could it be her time to return? Fans think so. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one penned: “I’m glad to see i’m not the only one who INSTANTLY thought of farida when they said gone too soon housemates were returning”.

Another agreed: “Omg the fact that godly Farida may be reentering the Big Brother house!!” while a third said: “Farida’s last TikTok was September 24th… get her back in!”

The announcement came after Cameron B was the third housemate to be evicted from the 2025 series – and the fourth to leave.

Despite being the third to be evicted, Cameron was the first to leave through the front door. Last week, Gani was forced to have a back door eviction due to Storm Amy, and Emily left through the back door on the first night.

This Top Warren Buffett Stock Is Making a Game-Changing Deal

Occidental Petroleum is making a transformational transaction.

Warren Buffett has long held Occidental Petroleum (OXY -7.16%) and its CEO, Vicki Hollub, in high regard. His trust in Hollub led Buffett’s company to invest heavily in Occidental. Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A -0.14%) (BRK.B -0.40%) now owns over $12.6 billion of Occidental’s stock — almost 27% of its outstanding shares — making it Berkshire’s sixth-largest holding at 4.1% of the investment portfolio.

In addition to Occidental’s leadership, Buffett’s company sees unique value in Occidental’s assets. While Buffett has previously stated that acquiring the entire company was not his goal, he clearly sees strategic value in owning a part of the company: OxyChem. Berkshire is paying $9.7 billion for the chemicals company — a move that will significantly reshape Occidental’s business.

Drilling down into the OxyChem deal

Berkshire Hathaway is buying OxyChem for $9.7 billion in cash. OxyChem is a global manufacturer of commodity chemicals essential to water treatment, pharmaceuticals, and other key industries. It operates 23 facilities around the world, producing items such as caustic soda (the second-largest merchant seller in the world) and PVC (the third-largest domestic supplier).

OxyChem is consistently profitable despite the ups and downs of the chemicals sector. The company is about to deliver a step-change in profitability, driven by a major investment phase. Occidental was on track to invest over $1.5 billion into several projects through 2026, including the modernization and expansion of the Battleground plant in Texas. These and other projects will add an incremental $325 million in annualized earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to OxyChem’s total in 2026 and beyond.

The steady cash flows and growing profitability of OxyChem make it an ideal fit for Berkshire Hathaway, which already has experience operating in the chemicals sector. Berkshire also owns specialty chemical company Lubrizol, which it bought for $9.7 billion in 2011.

How this deal will change things for Occidental

The sale of OxyChem will reshape Occidental Petroleum. The oil company plans to use $6.5 billion of the proceeds to immediately repay debt. That would enable the company to achieve its long-standing target of reducing its principal debt below $15 billion. Occidental plans to put the remaining $1.5 billion in after-tax proceeds on its balance sheet, enhancing its financial flexibility.

Debt has been an issue for Occidental Petroleum over the years. The oil giant bought rival Anadarko Petroleum in a cash-heavy $55 billion deal in 2019. Berkshire Hathaway assisted the company with funding for the acquisition by making a $10 billion preferred stock investment in Occidental. That deal turned out to be poorly timed as oil prices crashed early in 2020 when the pandemic hit. Lower crude prices and issues with selling assets significantly impacted the company’s ability to achieve its initial debt reduction targets.

However, Occidental slowly dug out of that hole as oil prices improved. That enabled it to make another debt-heavy deal in late 2023 when it agreed to buy CrownRock for $12 billion. The company set goals at that time to repay at least $4.5 billion of debt within a year of closing the deal and eventually reduce its principal debt to below $15 billion.

Occidental quickly achieved its initial goal by using free cash flow and asset sales. Now it will reach the $15 billion target by selling OxyChem.

Achieving that lower debt level will improve Occidental Petroleum’s credit metrics and financial flexibility. It will also save the oil company over $350 million annually in interest expenses, boosting its free cash flow. The increased financial flexibility will enable Occidental Petroleum to opportunistically repurchase shares and repay additional debt as it matures. The oil company can also continue growing its dividend. Additionally, Occidental plans to resume the redemption of Berkshire’s preferred equity investment, which it anticipates beginning in August 2029 after it builds a bigger cash balance.

In addition to significantly reshaping the company’s financial profile, the deal will sharpen Occidental’s focus on oil and gas production. The company will have greater financial flexibility to invest in unlocking the treasure trove of low-cost oil and gas resources it has around the world. As Hollub put it in the press release unveiling the sale, the transaction will “create this strategic opportunity that will unlock 20+ years of low-cost resource runway and deliver meaningful near and long-term value.”

A financially stronger, more focused oil and gas company

The sale of OxyChem is a transformational event for Occidental Petroleum. The oil company will achieve its long-term debt reduction target, significantly enhancing its financial flexibility while reducing interest expenses. It will also narrow the company’s focus on growing its oil and gas business. As a result, Occidental will become a significantly lower-risk oil company with substantial long-term growth potential as it focuses on developing its vast, low-cost oil and gas resources.

Britain’s top cop hails Live Facial Recognition technology as a ‘game-changing’ tool

BRITAIN’S top cop yesterday hailed Live Facial Recognition technology as a “game-changing tool.”

Met Police commissioner Sir Mark Rowley revealed how more than 700 arrests have been made so far this year thanks to camera vans deployed on streets to find wanted suspects and offenders in breach of orders.

Those arrested include 50 registered sex offenders in breach of licence conditions, Sir Mark said in a speech to the TechUK trade association.

He described Live Facial Recognition(LFR) – which uses biometric technology to identity wanted suspects from unique measurements of the face – as a “targeted” investment to back front-line policing.

Sir Mark told how he went on an LFR operation at last month’s Notting Hill Carnival, saying: “Every officer I spoke to was energised by the potential.”

He added of the Carnival operation: “Across the weekend, LFR delivered 61 arrests-including 16 for serious violence-related offences and 13 for violence against women and girls.

“The first arrest happened within five minutes of going live, locating someone wanted on a prison recall since 2015.

“Another suspect was wanted for GBH, having allegedly stabbed a victim five times with a machete.

“These results show that LFR played a critical role in keeping the public safe at Carnival.”

Sir Mark said LFR had made “a major contribution” to one of the safest Carnival events in years, with robbery down 70%, violence reduced by more than half and sex offences by 8% compared to 2024.

Meanwhile, the Met boss also revealed how the force plans to use drones to support public safety.

He said: “From searching for missing people, to arriving quickly at serious traffic incidents, or replacing the expensive and noisy helicopter at large public events.

More than a million Scots being monitored by Chinese cameras

“Done well, drones will be another tool to help officers make faster, more informed decisions on the ground.”

A data-driven approach to tackling violence against women and girls has led to more than 162 of “the most prolific and predatory offenders” in London being convicted, Sir Mark said.

The Met’s V100 programme uses data to identify and target men who pose the highest risk to women, enabling cops to focus their efforts on dangerous suspects.

Sir Mark also told how the London force will be using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help catch criminals caught on CCTV and translating languages of suspects, victims and witnesses.

He said: “CCTV helps secure thousands of charges against dangerous offenders, but trawls are time-intensive and rely on the human eye.

“Take Oxford Street, with 27 junctions—a trawl to identify a suspect’s route can take two days.

“Now imagine telling AI to find clips of a male wearing a red baseball cap between X and Y hours—and getting results in hours. That’s game changing.”

However, Sir Mark warned the current national policing model must be changed if the force can “unlock the full benefits” of AI.

He said the current setup of 43 forces using hundreds of technology systems “just won’t cut it.”

Sir Mark urged the Government to create a new national centre for policing and set up of regional forces to create shared technology platforms and make better use of data.

UK tourists urged to carry ‘game-changing’ item with them to the beach

Summer holidays are finally here, and there’s nothing like a day at the beach enjoying the sunshine – until it’s time to leave and your feet are all covered with sand.

Everyone loves going to the beach, but getting sand all over your stuff – and yourself – can be quite annoying and messy. But don’t worry, a genius hack will now solve all your problems using a plastic bag from home.

On the list of holiday pet peeves, trailing endless grains of sand all over your body hours after you left the beach is at the top. Pouring some water over your sandy body parts might be an alternative option, but there’s always still some residue left. And if you try and do this when on the beach, the chances are you’ll never rid it all.

But by using a plastic bag, you have found the solution to all of your problems – and it doesn’t cost you anything.

TikTok user @mrsvlifehacks’ seven-second video showed a person washing their feet using a plastic bag filled with seawater. Once her feet were out, they were completely clean, ready to wear the slides without discomfort.

“Mom’s best friend,” she captioned. This clever hack is particularly helpful for families travelling with small children, as it can be quite messy with the build-up residue of the sand getting on the car or inside the shoes.

So far, the video has accumulated over 14.8 million views, with users describing this hack as the “best thing”. A user commented: “Best thing I have seen on TikTok!!!!!!!! This deserves 20 million views!!”

A third one wrote: “Lol! I love doing this at the beach! It’s so easy, and my sandals don’t get sandy! Lol!” One joked: “Yeah if everybody does this, the sea will be empty in no time.”

Other comments pointed out that the user could’ve waited until she was on the pavement, as she put on the slides while still on the sand. One commented: “And then you walk two steps, and you have to do it again.”

Now that the temperatures are getting warmer and warmer and holidays are around the corner, the beach will be the number one place everyone will be heading off to, whether is to soak up all of the UV or to have a refreshing dip whilst enjoying the waves of the sea.

By using this clever hack, British holidaymakers will get rid of the sand instantly. Another clever hack is to use baby powder to help remove sand from your body, simply by sprinkling some powder on areas where it’s stuck on you. This will absorb the excess moisture, making it much easier to brush away.
