Can the Beckham brand survive reports of family feud?

The anointment of Sir David Beckham is a moment of establishment recognition three decades in the making. But as the former footballer was conferred his knighthood on Friday, reports of family drama threaten to overshadow the milestone.

Known for his precision on and off the pitch, Sir David has spent decades carefully curating his family’s public image.

This year is one of celebration for the former England captain – turning 50 at the helm of an estimated £500m empire.

But for the past few weeks, much of the online interest around the Beckhams has focused on reports that eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz have fallen out with the rest of the family.

An expert in reputation management says reports of the feud have begun to affect the family’s public image, noting press coverage of the Beckhams has taken on a more soap-opera-like tone.

Celebrity crisis PR Lauren Beeching says recent media conversation has “started to feel more like something you’d see around a reality TV family”.

German Glamour magazine called Brooklyn and Nicola the “world’s most talked about couple” earlier in June

Reports of a family fallout began three years ago as stories emerged claiming that Nicola had refused to wear one of Victoria Beckham’s designs on her wedding day.

Nicola later said she had wanted to, telling the Times Victoria realised her atelier couldn’t make it in time so she had to pick a different designer. Nicola denied there was a feud in the family.

But scrutiny continued, with shows of unity (from warm social media posts to shared events) being framed as the Beckhams putting the feud behind them, or discouraging rumours of discord.

Eventually, speculation seemed to die down. But reports of a rift returned last month after Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, were absent from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations and didn’t post a birthday message online.

A source told the BBC Brooklyn had chosen not to go to the party as his younger brother Romeo was attending with a woman Brooklyn had previously been linked to.

The source added that this woman’s invitation had been “a big source of further tension”.

Sir David and Lady Victoria have never acknowledged the rumoured rift, and have not responded to the BBC’s requests for comment.

Ms Beeching believes there’s now a risk the feud stories could start to shape the family’s image, “instead of the achievements they actually want to be known for”. “Once you start being spoken about like a reality TV family,” she continues. “That reputation starts to slip”.

As Manchester United’s golden boy, David Beckham quickly transcended football to become a global celebrity.

He and Spice Girl wife Victoria created Brand Beckham – fusing fame, fashion and football to redefine modern stardom.

“Their brand has always been about control of narrative, image, and legacy,” says Mr Borkowski. “The media didn’t chase them. They gave it a trail to follow – blending scandal with strategy and high-end deals.”

Beckham “made metrosexuality mainstream”, he adds. “He showed working-class lads you could wear nail polish, model for Armani, champion grooming rituals – and still bend a free-kick past the keeper at crunch time. All while embodying a very traditional ideal: devoted husband, hands-on dad, family first.”

“I lived my career through the spotlight,” Sir David told BBC Radio 4’s Front Row in 2013. “You have to be a certain person, you have to create a certain person, and you have to be yourself.”

These parallel identities – carefully constructed yet authentic – gave Beckham his unique pull.

While the Beckham family have always been relatively private, Ms Beeching sees David’s 2023 Netflix documentary as a turning point in how the public perceived them.

“The Beckham brand has always been seen as aspirational, not accessible, but since the documentary, there’s been a notable increase in how much the family share on their social media accounts, which puts them closer to being reality stars,” she says.

Ms Beeching says recent news has pulled the family “away from legacy-building and into soap opera territory, which was never their lane”.

The constant rumours about the family’s dynamic have led some fans to take on a “Sherlock Holmes role” – so now, every absence in a photo becomes a hidden theory and every Instagram caption has a sub context.

Feud is ‘built to go viral’

Matt Navarra, a social media consultant, tells the BBC fans expect to see social signals of closeness such as mutual follows, birthday posts and supportive comments.

“When these signals are missing, people don’t assume neutrality, they assume tension.”

Fans and tabloids were quick to pick up on Brooklyn and Nicola’s German Glamour magazine shoot earlier this month as a signal that the rift was far from over – the couple avoided mentioning the Beckhams, but Nicola’s love for her own family was referenced several times.

Since then, every Beckham Instagram post and like (or lack thereof) has been agonised over, and even if discussion of the feud are eventually put to bed, it’s unlikely that social media sleuthing will end.

Mr Navarra explains that even if facts are revealed and the rift rumours are quashed, “the social media algorithm doesn’t care about accuracy – it cares about engagement”.

This feud is the “perfect storm as it’s built to go viral”, and social media doesn’t just fuel speculation, it manufactures and rewards it, he says.

Of course, family drama is also more relatable than a knighthood, and there’s always been an insatiable appetite for famous families feuding in the spotlight.

Ms Beeching sees parallels between the Beckham family fallout and the rift between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, which continues to make headlines.

Since stepping back from senior royal duties in 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have seen their fractured relationship with the British monarchy go public

“The Royal Family lost control over the narrative as Harry and Meghan became more independent, and that’s the same here with Brooklyn and Nicola, who are both adults and are forming their own public personas,” she says.

Like Meghan, Nicola Peltz was already a known figure before marrying Brooklyn. The daughter of a billionaire businessman and model, “Nicola doesn’t need to rely on the Beckhams for money or fame”, says Wayne Barton, who wrote a biography about Beckham in 2020.

In a bid to not be perceived as nepo babies – children of celebrities who get fast-tracked to success – “Brooklyn and Nicola are in search of their own identities, which “may be putting them at odds with the careful public image that the Beckhams have created for the family”, he says.

Sir David’s polished image has, on occasion, been tarnished by scandal – in 2003, he faced accusations of an extra-marital affair with his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos.

Nicole Lampert, the Daily Mail’s showbiz editor at the time, says the Beckhams perfected “smiling through” issues – letting actions speak over words.

In 2004, the couple staged a photocall skiing together to demonstrate a united front – with Victoria giving what Lampert describes as a pained “rictus grin”.

Generally, however, the Beckhams have remained tight-lipped when it comes to scandals, such as criticism over David Beckham’s involvement with Qatar, and leaked emails in 2017 that included disparaging comments about singer Katherine Jenkins being awarded an honour over him.

Brand is ‘bruised not broken’

Having been in the spotlight for decades, the Beckham brand will survive the feud and it’s currently “bruised but not broken”, according to Mr Navarra.

One way the Beckhams could limit the damage to their brand would be by “showing family unity with a picture on social media or at least acknowledging that all families have their ups and downs”, he suggests.

But trying to inauthentically manage the situation and making things look overly staged could backfire and the “narrative of a feud will become permanently baked in”.

Mr Navarra doesn’t believe there are many real implications to the Beckham brand right now and the reports aren’t affecting their earning potential, brand collaborations or level of interest in them.

“If anything, it humanises the family a bit,” he explains, but he cautions there could be a greater impact on their reputation if the feud escalates or more damaging rumours come to light.

Love Island fans convinced they’ve rumbled secret feud after ‘unnecessary’ jibe

Love Island viewers are starting to suspect one Islander doesn’t like one of their co-stars after some ‘unnecessarily rude’ comments made behind their back on the ITV2 series

Love Island viewers are starting to suspect one Islander doesn't like one of their co-stars

Some Love Island fans picked up on some odd behaviour by one star aimed at another contestant in the villa this week.

It left many fans questioning if a secret feud was unfolding, with some convinced one Islander “hated” another. Just days on from the pair in question being coupled up, fans suggested the pair might not be seeing eye to eye.

Then some comments Ben made behind Toni’s back int he latest episode left fans calling him out, while also suggesting there could be some drama between them. Bombshell Toni had debuted earlier in the week, before she stole Ben from Shakira.

Just days later Ben was heard whining about Toni to the other Islanders, claiming she gave him “the ick” and that he was “stuck” with someone he didn’t want to be with. He made some other jibes about her behind her back, and said her saw nothing there with her, not wanting to pursue a romance.

Toni was then praised for “humbling” Ben when she confronted him and put an end to their pairing. Since then there’s been other moments where Ben hasn’t seemed keen on Toni amid his reunion with Shakira, and on Friday night we saw him comment about her once more.

As the boys were secretly being listened in to, the girls heard Ben say how Toni “didn’t even ruffle any feathers”. Toni’s entrance had caused some drama, and soon she was moving onto other men after the Ben ‘split’ and it left some of the girls nervous.

But according to Ben there was nothing to be stressed about, and Toni didn’t cause that much chaos. The girls in the villa called this out with Toni looking far from impressed at being spoken about.

Viewers had her back though, taking to X to slam him as others predicted Ben had some sort of issue with Toni. Many wondered if he disliked her, after noticing he was being off with her more than once.

One fan said: “Ben is unnecessarily rude especially towards Toni.” Another agreed: “Ben hates Toni,” as a third said: “‘Toni hasn’t ruffled any feathers’ NAH Ben hatesssss her.”

Another fan commented: “That comment about Toni wasn’t nice I’m so sick of Ben.” A further post read: “Ben speaks so rudely about Toni, as one fan said: “Why does Ben hate Toni??”

A final message commented: “I’m convinced Ben HATES Toni.” It comes as the start of Friday’s episode saw a brutal dumping twist, following a shocking announcement in the previous episode. After a reocupling, Blu and Shea were left single and at risk of leaving the villa.

But everyone was left reeling when it was announced that Blu and Shea would have to decide between themselves which of them stayed, and who was sent packing. Immediately both Islanders got awkward, refusing to be the one to leave.

This drama continued into Friday’s episode, with Blu giving reasons why he should stay, even suggesting he had a spark with Toni which left her utterly baffled. Then Shea did the same back, making a dig at his co-star as he revealed why it should be him that stayed.

Shea commented on Blu having been there for days longer than him, believing there was no connection to be explored. Soon enough the other Islanders were tasked with making the decision for them as neither of them would go.

As it came down to a vote, it was Blu who was sent packing and Shea who was saved. The brutal moment left fans screaming, with it looking at one point as though neither guy was going to walk out of the villa.

Cambodia bans Thai movies and TV shows in latest border feud tit-for-tat

Cambodia escalated its cold war with Thailand on Friday when it announced a ban on Thai movies and TV shows and a boycott of the neighboring country’s international internet links.

Tensions between the Southeast Asian countries have soared since an armed confrontation in a border area on May 28 that each side blamed on the other and which left one Cambodian soldier dead.

Cambodian officials said the import and screenings of Thai movies would be banned, and that broadcasters would be ordered not to air Thai-produced shows, which include popular soap operas. The government said it would inflict a financial blow on Thailand by rerouting its international internet traffic through other countries instead.

Cambodian and Thai authorities engaged in saber-rattling last week, though they have since walked back much of their earlier statements emphasizing their right to take military action.

But they continue to implement or threaten measures short of armed force, keeping tensions high. Thailand has added restrictions at border crossings. Much of their war of words actually has appeared intended to mollify nationalistic critics on their own sides.

The confrontation reportedly took place in a relatively small “no man’s land” constituting territory along their border that both countries claim is theirs.

The area is closed to journalists, but it appears that both sides withdrew soon after the fatal confrontation to avoid further clashes, without explicitly conceding the fact in order to save face.

“Neither side wants to use the word ‘withdraw’. We say ‘adjust troop deployments’ as a gesture of mutual respect—this applies to both Cambodia and Thailand.” Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was quoted telling reporters this past week.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said Friday on the Telegram social network that his government would act preemptively to establish self-reliance in response to exhortations by Thai nationalists to cut off electricity and internet connectivity to Cambodia.

Camboia’s Minister of Post and Telecommunication Chea Vandeth announced on his Facebook page that “all telecommunications operators in Cambodia have now disconnected all cross-border internet links with Thailand,” and that the move would deprive Thailand of as much as hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, a claim that could not be immediately checked.

The reported move to use circuits bypassing Thailand temporarily disrupted internet connectivity for users of at least one Cambodian service provider.

Thai officials said any plans to cut services to Cambodia were unrelated to the territorial conflict and would actually be targeting the infamous online scam centers in the Cambodian border town of Poipet that have been a problem for several years.

Cambodia’s Ministry of Fine Arts meanwhile informed all film distributors and cinemas owners that starting Friday, the import and screening of all Thai films must be immediately suspended.

Som Chhaya, deputy director general of a popular Cambodian TV channel, People Nation Network, told The Associated Press that his company will comply with another government order to drop Thai-produced shows, and in their place broadcast Chinese, Korean or Cambodian dramas.

Thai films and TV shows have a large audience in Cambodia.

Friday’s actions in Cambodia were taken one day ahead of a planned meeting in the capital Phnom Penh of the two countries’ Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary to help resolve the conflicting territorial claims that led to last month’s deadly confrontation.

There is a long history to their territorial disputes, Thailand is still rankled by a 1962 ruling by the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands that awarded to Cambodia the disputed territory where the historic Preah Vihear temple stands. There were sporadic though serious clashes there in 2011, and the ruling was reaffirmed in 2023.

Cheang writes for the Associated Press.

Love Island’s Shakira risks feud with co-star as bold decision sparks tension

Love Island viewers witnessed one Islander risk drama with another girl on the ITV2 series, as she boldly set out to steal their man amid a brutal dumping looming

There could be our first bit of drama on Love Island this week, as a possible feud was teased.

One girl’s bold decision sparked tension in the villa, and even led to a co-star making an equally brazen decision. Two girls sparked a rivalry over the same man, with one vowing not to be left single.

Maya Jama had tasked Islander Shakira with wooing one of the boys after being left single by her own partner Ben during Monday’s episode. New girl Toni had just entered the villa as a bombshell and claimed Ben for herself.

Maya warned Shakira that if she did not strike up a connection with another boy in 24 hours, then she would be sent home. So on Tuesday night we saw the Islander getting to work, grafting with the boys.

As she spent time with them to try and find a connection, desperate to stay in the villa, she certainly sparked concern amongst the other girls. It had been revealed that if Shakira picked a boy and they agreed to couple up with her, then that person’s current girl would be dumped instead of Shakira.

With the pressure on, Shakira made some bold moves by getting to know the guys and pulling them for chats, keeping them away from their current partners. But one girl was far from happy, and soon had the backing of her fellow Islanders.

Megan took matters into her own hands as she witnessed her boy Tommy speaking with a flirty Shakira. Clearly worrying about being dumped, she shared her fears with her co-stars, with Meg, Helena and Dejon all telling her not to sit back and let it happen.

As she prepared to “claim her man” she brazenly walked over and interrupted Shakira and Tommy’s cosy chat. She took him to the terrace, far away from her new rival, before confessing she was “jealous”.

With the girls clearly rattled by Shakira’s plan it certainly got tense – but a kiss between Megan and Tommy sealed they were definitely on the right track. But could Shakira’s actions in the villa spark drama with the others or even Megan going forward if she manages to survive the looming dumping?

It comes after fans questioned some “missing scenes” after some drama between two Islanders. Just last night on the series fans saw the couples formed, before bombshell Toni caused carnage.

While some couples were clearly thrilled by their pairings, others were not. Shakira and Ben even had a frosty moment just moments before Toni entered the villa and stole him.

Ben had claimed to Maya that their pairing was “love/hate” sparking confusion with fans. Many wondered if they’d missed some scenes, unsure why the couple were already “bickering” as one of their co-stars put it just hours into the show.

They’d had a chat before Toni’s entrance where Ben had seemed to hint he was already thinking about who else might come in, and he didn’t seem interested. Fans picked up on this, also noting Shakira didn’t look impressed by their chat.

As some viewers wondered if a secret row had not been aired, one fan posted on X: “I think Shakira was disappointed with Ben’s answers,” while another guessed: “Ben saying he’s not sure if he can put up with Shakira has gone right into red flag territory.” A third fan said: “Ben doesn’t like Shakira AT ALL!”

A fourth fan wrote: “Feeling horrible for Shakira right now Ben is not even trying to hide the fact he does not like her at all.” A further post read: “I said he doesn’t like Shakira.”

Other fans shared their confusion over the sudden tension between them. A fan posted: “Did I miss something between Shakira and Ben, wdym love/hate relationship? The first day isn’t even over yet.”

Inside Hollywood’s most toxic divorce as ‘homeless’ Alice Evans’ secret game plan revealed in feud with Ioan Gruffudd

IF awards were given out for most toxic break-up in Hollywood, Alice Evans and Ioan Gruffudd would sweep the board.

Four years after the couple’s marriage ended, their bitter feud continues to overshadow anything either party has ever delivered on the big screen.

And the end credits are still some way off from rolling, especially when Alice is the leading lady.

In recent weeks, the actress’s behaviour has become increasingly erratic, from declaring herself homeless to begging her Instagram followers for a place to stay.

Her antics have left fans understandably concerned for her well-being, but there are also suspicions that her brutal honesty is also part of a ‘game plan’ – one she secretly hopes may spark a career renaissance.

An insider told The Sun: “Alice is aware her car crash relationship is the only thing keeping her relevant right now.

“The acting jobs have dried up, and even she admits she’s currently unhireable.

“So documenting both her innermost feelings and stark truths of her desperate situation on social media maintains a profile, and therefore could lead to other opportunities away from acting but still within the industry, like her own reality show.”

The insider added: “Alice knows what she’s doing and will continue airing her dirty laundry in public. She has nothing to lose.”

While Alice, 56, continues to offload on social media, her Fantastic Four actor ex Ioan, 51, is quietly getting on with his life.

He’s recently remarried to Australian actress Bianca Wallace, who’s felt the wrath of Alice’s sharp tongue, which led to Ioan filing a request for a restraining order against her.

And his most recent movie, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, banked an impressive $403million worldwide.

He’s still battling Alice for spousal support and custody and financial support for their two daughters, Ella, 15, and Elsie, 11, but is doing all of his talking via lawyers – unlike his ex, whom he met on the set of the 2000 movie 102 Dalmatians.

Indeed, Alice is updating fans with every cough and spit of the fallout from the pair’s divorce, which she claims has left her financially ruined.

In February, Alice told her 95,000 Instagram followers she, her two daughters, plus their dog Emma were on the verge of being evicted from their home in Los Angeles.

She said it was due to being unable to pay her rent, all while Ioan, who says his ex-wife’s poverty claims are “exaggerated”, was living in comfort in a $5,500 (£4,000) a month apartment with a home gym.

Alice knows what she’s doing and will continue airing her dirty laundry in public. She has nothing to lose

She claimed there was “no way of renting even the cheapest room anywhere in the city” due to January’s wildfires, which has decimated the rental market.

Alice wrote: “Four years of hell. And now the girls and I are going to be homeless. Somebody please help. I think I have reached rock bottom.

“In 16 days, we have nowhere to go. Does anybody have a spare room? I’m so sorry for this. So embarrassed.”

In the comments section of the post, Alice replied to many fans’ offers of help, once again opting for stark honesty surrounding her situation.

She revealed that “both sets of grandparents estranged themselves from my girls” when quizzed why her family aren’t supporting her.

She explained: “It breaks my heart. It would be perfectly possible to take sides against me whilst retaining a relationship with my kids.

“They both have their own phones that I have vowed to never touch. Nothing is stopping them from communicating.

“I think it’s a terrible mistake. And punishing children for something they believe their mother has done. Not fair at all.”

She also responded to fans’ offers of rooms to inhabit in countries including Ireland and Mexico, saying she can’t leave LA “without authorisation”, but would have “loved” to take up their kind gestures.

Such was her desperation, she repurposed her GoFundMe page – originally set up in 2022 to help pay for her divorce  – to seek funds for a new home, and she’s now just over $6,500 (£5,000) from reaching her target of $25,000 (£18,000).

Thanking donors this week, some of whom shelled out $2,500 anonymously, she wrote: “Just wanted to tell everybody that me and the girls and Emma are safe with a roof over our heads!

“It’s been a whirlwind, but we made it through the last three days and managed to save all our belongings too!

“We could never, ever have done this without the incredible love and kindness from all of you. Honestly, I was at my wits’ end and you saved me.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will keep you posted. Love you so much.’

Confessing she felt shame in turning to the public for help, she previously wrote: “I’m so embarrassed about this. If you’re here, you know my story.

Alice is aware her car crash relationship is the only thing keeping her relevant right now

“You know how much I struggle to keep my two girls healthy and happy and a roof over their heads.

“You know what I’ve been through. It never ends. I’m just getting squeezed in every which way and smeared in the media so that nobody even wants to employ me.”

Ioan agreed to pay Alice $3,000 (£2,200) per month in child support and $1,500 (£1,100) a month in spousal support in September last year.

However, Alice has claimed the $4,500 (£3,300) fee was not sufficient to live in LA, and that money raised from the sale of their old marital home has slowly dwindled away, citing legal fees.

In March, the Vampire Diaries star slammed Ioan in a court filing for saying he “does not really believe” she was facing eviction and that she secretly had the money to pay for it, saying it was an effort “to make him look bad.”

Ioan thanked Bianca for ‘making him smile again’ after the split

Last month, the rift took another dark twist when Ioan claimed he saw Alice try to give their children cocaine after leaving the door of their family home unlocked so a drug dealer could enter.

The bombshell revelation came in the Welshman’s latest court bid to extend the aforementioned restraining order against him and his new wife, Bianca.

Alice and Ioan married seven years after co-starring in the Disney sequel, tying the knot in Mexico in 2007 during an intimate service attended by close friends and family who had “travelled from all over the world for it”.

They welcomed their first daughter Ella in 2009 before Elsie arrived four years later.

But in January 2021, the pair announced their separation, and it was New Jersey-born Alice, who was brought up in the UK, who revealed the news in a typically blunt style, kick-starting their public feud.

She wrote: “Sad news. My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week.

“Me and our young daughters are very confused and sad. We haven’t been given a reason except that he ‘no longer loves me’. I’m so sorry.”

But the rift turned really ugly when Ioan went public with new love and A Ray of Sunshine co-star Bianca, 32, nine months later, sharing a snap of the pair on Instagram alongside the caption: “Thank you for making me smile again.”

Timeline of Alice Evans and Ioan Gruffudd’s bitter feud

  • 2000–2007 – Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd met Alice Evans on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000. The couple married in 2007 and later welcomed two daughters, Ella and Elsie.
  • January 2021 – Alice announced on Twitter that Ioan had left the family.
  • March 2021 – Ioan files for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
  • October 2021 – Ioan went public with his relationship with actress Bianca Wallace. Alice accused him of a three-year affair, which he denied.
  • February 2022 – Ioan filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Alice, alleging she threatened to make false accusations and destroy his career. He claimed she sent over 100 harassing messages, including threats to publish a fake diary portraying herself as a victim.
  • August 2022 – A judge granted Ioan a three-year restraining order against Alice, prohibiting her from contacting him or Bianca and from posting about them on social media.
  • July 2023 – The divorce was finalised. Alice claimed financial hardship, stating she earned only $300 monthly in royalties and was applying for food stamps, while accusing Ioan of living lavishly.
  • July 2024 – Alice filed court documents seeking increased child and spousal support, alleging she was behind on rent and utilities. She claimed Ioan spent extravagantly on travel and luxury items, including an engagement ring for Bianca.
  • April 2025 – Ioan married Bianca in an intimate seaside ceremony. The couple shared a video captioned “Mr & Mrs Gruffudd. Marriage now, wedding later.”

Previously, Ioan requested a restraining order against Alice in February 2022 after accusing her of harassment, making up “false stories about him”, and sending his mother “threatening emails.”

The actor’s daughter, Ella, then filed a domestic violence restraining order against him in June 2023 following an incident at his Los Angeles home, which was later rejected.

Two months later, Ioan accused Alice of keeping their children from him and had not seen them in three months, which his ex-wife denied.

She said he was to blame, claiming the actor had not bothered making contact with their daughters for 11 weeks.

Over the last two years, Alice’s complaints have centred around her financial struggles in the wake of their split.

She has said she’s relying on “food stamps”, while Ioan continues his “lavish lifestyle”, buying Rolex watches for his new partner, and is now reportedly considering working at Starbucks.

There have been worse angles for a reality show.

Donald Trump slams ‘big-time drug addict’ Elon Musk as toxic feud intensifies

It came after the Tesla billionaire linked Mr Trump to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Their feud went public on Thursday night as both men used their own social media platforms — X and Truth Social — to insult each other.

Mr Musk, 53, turned on the US leader, calling his Congressional spending bill a “disgusting abomination” on Wednesday.

The President, 78, has called it his “big, beautiful bill”, but Mr Musk believes it will increase national debt by an unsustainable amount.

It triggered the ugly public bust-up, with Musk calling for Trump to be impeached and accusing him of being a close associate of Epstein.

Yesterday, Mr Musk deleted the post, which was seen hundreds of millions of times.

The Washington Post reported Mr Trump used private calls to urge his allies not to pour fuel on the fire and told Vice President JD Vance to be cautious.

But the President, whose campaign took £250million from Mr Musk, is also said to have become weary with the tycoon’s alleged drug use.

He called Mr Musk an “addict” in the calls and claimed he “lost his mind” after leaving the administration.

The businessman previously admitted using ketamine, but it is alleged he became so hooked last year it affected his kidneys.

Trump insists Elon Musk is lashing out at ‘big beautiful bill’ for personal reason as he admits he’s ‘disappointed’ in Tesla boss

Mr Musk officially left the government last week but said he would remain as a “friend and adviser” to Mr Trump.

The President last night said he had “no intention” of speaking to Mr Musk, adding: “I think it’s a very bad thing because he’s very disrespectful”.

Trump’s bill is floundering in the Senate as Musk attacks intensify

The clamorous end to President Trump’s alliance with Elon Musk is increasing pressure on the White House over its signature legislation known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” — a bill under intense scrutiny in the Senate that Musk wants killed over its price tag, but that Trump views as critical to the success of his presidency.

The bill faces strong headwinds among senators across the Republican spectrum, including fiscal conservatives who say it authorizes unsustainable spending, as well as moderates who fear the consequences of offsetting costly tax breaks in the bill with steep cuts to Medicaid.

Sen. Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin among those seeking to decrease spending in the bill, told NPR this week that it has “no chance of passing” the Senate in its current form.

“It’s easy to be the parent that says, ‘We’re going to go to Disney World.’ It’s hard to be the parent that says, ‘yeah, but we can’t afford it,” Johnson told reporters on Capitol Hill Friday. “To get to yes, I need a commitment to return to a reasonable pre-pandemic level of spending.”

Trump’s relationship with Musk, the world’s richest man and the largest Republican donor during the 2024 presidential campaign, shattered on Thursday in an exchange of public insults between the two men. After leaving his role in the administration last week, where he was assigned to cut federal spending and government waste, Musk sounded off on the bill as an “abomination” that would cause the national debt to soar.

Trump responded by suggesting Musk opposed the legislation because it includes cuts to energy tax credits that have benefited Tesla, Musk’s electric vehicle company. The billionaire entrepreneur may also be angry, Trump mused, because his recommendation to head NASA was rejected — an important position for SpaceX, another Musk business.

Those comments set off an online tirade from Musk that claimed credit for Trump’s election victory and accused the president of links with Jeffrey Epstein, a notorious child sex offender.

“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk wrote on X, his social media platform. “Such ingratitude.”

Musk contributed over $280 million to Trump and other Republicans during the 2024 presidential campaign. But his tenure in the White House has come at a steep cost. Tesla’s profits plummeted 71% over the first three months of the year, with reputation rankings showing a similarly precipitous drop amongst consumers. In Thursday alone, as his feud with Trump escalated, Tesla’s stock price dropped 14%.

“I’m not even thinking about Elon,” Trump told CNN’s Dana Bash in a phone interview on Friday. “He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem.”

Musk was also quieter on Friday, focusing his social media activity on his companies, a sign that both men see mutual destruction in the fallout from their feud.

But the source of their feud — the bill — remains on thin ice.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill could add $2.4 trillion to annual deficits over the next decade and result in 10.9 million people losing their health insurance, prompting GOP senators like Shelley Moore Capito, of West Virginia, where 28% of the state population is enrolled in Medicaid, to express concern.

But Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Republican of South Dakota, told reporters that the caucus is open to exploring cuts to another popular health program — Medicare, for Americans 65 and older — if it results in lowering the overall costs of the bill.

“The focus, as you know, has been on addressing waste, fraud, abuse within Medicaid and, but right now, we’re open to suggestions that people have them about other areas where there is, you know, clearly, waste, fraud and abuse that can be rooted out in any government program,” Thune said in a news conference.

Asked whether Medicare cuts are on the table, Thune replied, “I think anything we can do that’s waste, fraud and abuse are open to discussions.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, defended the bill against Musk’s attacks on Friday and said his calls to kill the bill were a “surprise.”

“I don’t argue with Elon on how to build rockets,” Johnson said. “I wish he wouldn’t argue with me about how to craft legislation.”

Johnson has said his goal is to have the legislation passed into law by Independence Day, before lawmakers start traveling home for a series of long summer recesses.

But there are other reasons for the deadline. The Treasury Department anticipates the country could risk default unless Congress raises the debt ceiling by August. And tax cuts passed in 2017, under the first Trump administration, are set to expire at the end of this year, leading Republicans to warn of a 68% tax increase if the bill fails.

Trump-Musk feud escalates: What happened? And what comes next? | Donald Trump News

Washington, DC – The ties between United States President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk have seen highs and lows throughout the years.

But it all came crashing down on Thursday after months of what appeared to be an unshakable alliance in the White House.

A disagreement over Trump’s massive tax bill has escalated over the past few days, with Musk going so far as to suggest that the US president should be impeached.

In a series of social media posts, Musk launched personal attacks against Trump, culminating in a claim, made without evidence, that Trump is in the “Epstein files”.

Those documents relate to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and include travel logs and guest lists related to him and his associates. Part of the Epstein files remain secret, sparking curiosity and conspiracy theories about who might be mentioned.

Trump, meanwhile, responded with a social media fusillade of his own. He claimed he asked Musk to leave his White House role and suggested cutting the government subsidies and contracts awarded to the billionaire’s companies.

So how did the partnership between Musk and Trump collapse? And what may come next for the two men often described as the world’s richest and the world’s most powerful, respectively?

The honeymoon phase

A few months before the war of words between Musk and Trump erupted, the two seemed like an inseparable political force.

Musk had spent nearly $200m to elect Trump to a second term in 2024. Days after his successful election, Trump responded by appointing Musk to lead a newly created government cutting agency, called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Even the name of the department reflected the leeway that the billionaire investor had in Trump’s administration. The word “doge” refers to an internet meme of a dog, favoured by Musk, that became popular in 2010.

In the early weeks of Trump’s second term, Musk became one of the most prominent figures in the administration – and a lightning rod for public criticism. Under his leadership, DOGE sacked thousands of federal employees and gutted various agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Musk appeared so powerful that some Democrats started to refer to him as “President Elon” to get under Trump’s skin.

But Trump and Musk presented a united front. During a Fox News interview in February, the US president and his then-adviser appeared side by side and heaped praise on one another.

“He gets it done. He’s a leader,” Trump said of Musk.

“I love the president. I just want to be clear about that,” Musk said of Trump.

Musk, who is originally from South Africa, started espousing right-wing views over the past few years and grew vocally critical of Democrats and progressives.

Those views became more prominent after he bought the social media platform Twitter, now X, in 2022. As he started to tilt rightward, he used the platform to bash irregular migration and efforts he believed aimed to police free speech, particularly with regards to identity politics and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even during Musk’s political realignment, however, he and Trump exchanged stern criticism. For example, in July 2022, Musk posted that Trump was getting to be “too old to be chief executive of anything”, much less the presidency.

He also initially backed Trump’s Republican rival in the 2024 presidential race, Ron DeSantis, even hosting the Florida governor’s campaign launch on X.

But the failed assassination attempt against Trump would cement Musk’s shift in allegiance. After a bullet grazed Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024, Musk announced he would “fully endorse” the Republican leader.

He even joined Trump for a return to Butler in September of last year.

The unravelling

The cliche in politics is that there are no permanent enemies or permanent allies, only permanent interests. That appears to be the case for Trump, who has a history of firing advisers and disavowing former friends.

Musk is only the latest high-profile rupture – and one that might not come as a surprise to political observers.

The unravelling of Trump’s “bromance” with Musk comes at the tail end of a rocky few months, as rumours swirled about closed-door clashes between the billionaire and the president’s inner circle.

In April, Musk announced that he would be spending less time at DOGE. By that time, his role appeared to be diminishing, with the billionaire no longer dominating headlines or regularly appearing in the Oval Office.

Late in May, Musk criticised the White House-backed tax and budget proposal, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

“I was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not decrease it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,” Musk told the TV programme CBS Sunday Morning.

The bill cuts electric vehicle (EV) subsidies that boost Musk’s Tesla car company. But Musk has maintained his opposition to the bill lies in its increases to the national debt and its byzantine provisions: The bill clocks in at more than 1,000 pages.

The notoriously confrontational Trump, who had pinned his vision for the economy on the bill, kept his cool amid Musk’s early criticisms. He even acknowledged to reporters, “I’m not happy about certain aspects of [the bill].”

The two men made a public appearance together afterwards in the Oval Office, where Trump celebrated the end of Musk’s role as a special government employee. Even then, Trump insisted that Musk was “not really leaving” his team.

Once out of the government, though, Musk not only voiced discontent with the budget bill; he appeared to be lobbying against it. The bill had narrowly passed in the House of Representatives, only to face similarly steep odds in the Senate.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination,” Musk wrote on X on Monday.

“Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

The US president shot back on Thursday, starting with an appearance in the Oval Office with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

“ I’m very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here,” Trump said. “ He had no problem with it. All of a sudden, he had a problem.”

Trump told the assembled reporters that Musk’s reaction was a backlash to his EV policies. He also speculated that Musk would have preferred to stay in the White House.

“ I’ll be honest, I think he misses the place,” Trump said. “ It’s sort of Trump derangement syndrome. We have it with others, too. They leave, and they wake up in the morning, and the glamour’s gone. The whole world is different, and they become hostile.”

Afterwards, Trump took his criticisms to his social media platform, Truth Social.

“Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!” Trump wrote in a social media post.

All the while, Musk had been posting on social media, criticising Trump’s bill and taking credit for his re-election campaign.

“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk wrote. “Such ingratitude.”

What’s next, and who will win?

What happens next remains unclear. Although Musk has gained popularity within the Republican base, his political rise was partly due to his association with Trump.

He may now find himself loathed by both Democrats and Trump loyalists.

The US president, on the other hand, has a track record of surviving public scandals, including criminal charges.

Trump has also shown apparent willingness to use the government’s power against his rivals, most recently ordering an investigation into the administration of his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden.

Already, Trump has warned of risks to Musk’s businesses, including the rocket company SpaceX and the communications firm Starlink. “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts,” Trump wrote.

Still, Musk can also hurt Trump’s agenda. In his inauguration speech, Trump envisioned planting a US flag on Mars, but on Thursday, Musk said he plans to decommission a SpaceX rocket that the US uses to reach the International Space Station, as retaliation for Trump’s words.

Musk could also align with fiscally conservative lawmakers to block Trump’s signature tax bill in the Senate.

Despite Musk going on the offensive against Trump on Thursday, the US president used one of his later social media posts to shift the focus to his One Big Beautiful Bill.

“I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that.”

Trump, Musk feud escalates amid high-profile bromance breakup

June 5 (UPI) — President Donald Trump and former Department of Government Efficiency Director Elon Musk are slinging accusations after an apparent end to their short-lived friendship.

Trump on Thursday accused Musk of going “crazy” after the president canceled the federal electric vehicle mandate imposed by the Biden administration.

“I took away his EV mandate that forced everyone to buy electric cars that nobody else wanted,” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Thursday. “He just went crazy!”

Trump also has threatened to end all government contracts with the Musk-founded Tesla and suggested that would be a fast way to reduce government spending.

The president’s threat likely resonated with investors as Tesla share prices declined by more than 14% on Thursday and shed $152 billion in value from the EV maker.

Trump said he asked Musk to leave his advisory position with DOGE, although Musk was scheduled to exit the position at the end of May.

Musk earlier said Trump would not have won the Nov. 5 election without his help.

He contributed an estimated $250 million to Trump’s campaign effort.

“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk said Thursday morning in a post on X.

Musk has criticized the proposed “one big, beautiful” federal government budget bill as increasing the nation’s debt and negating his work with DOGE.

The entrepreneur opposes the spending bill that the House has passed and is before the Senate because it removed tax credits and subsidies for buying EVs, Trump claimed.

“I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done that months ago,” Trump said in a subsequent Truth Social post on Thursday afternoon.

“This is one of the greatest bills ever presented to Congress,” he continued. “It’s a record cut in expenses, $1.6 trillion dollars, and the biggest tax cut ever given.”

If the measure is not passed, Trump said it will trigger a 68% tax increase, “and things far worse than that.”

The president said the “easiest way to save money … is to terminate Elon’s governmental subsidies and contracts” with Tesla.

Later on Thursday, Musk in an X post said it is “time to drop the really big bomb” on the president.

Trump “is in the Epstein files,” Musk said. “That is the real reason they have not been made public.”

Musk did not say in what context Trump allegedly appears in the Epstein files, but ended his post with: “Have a nice day, DJT!”

He made a subsequent post that asks: “Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?”

Trump and Musk were very close during the first four months of the Trump administration and often appeared together at high-profile events.

White Lotus star breaks down in tears as he finally addresses feud with co-star

Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood – who played Rick Hackett and his Chelsea in The White Lotus – have broken their silence months after their reported feud

Their on-screen chemistry and complicated love story left White Lotus viewers enthralled – but that didn’t help stop rumours of a backstage feud between actors Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood after one particularly awkward social media interaction.

But the pair, who played mysterious Rick Hackett and his girlfriend Chelsea, have finally spoken out – revealing why they’ve only seen each other once since season three’s February premiere.

And Walton, unable to hold back his emotions, declared “I love this woman madly” about Aimee in a bid to set the record straight.

Two months since the show’s dramatic finale, the pair have reunited for Variety magazine as they got up close and personal once again. Speaking of the moment they met for the very first time, Aimee revealed he had texted her to come over for lunch. She said: “I didn’t know what to order. I was like, ‘Can you pick for me?’ I was so nervous.”

Walton added: “The minute she walked around the corner, I felt, ‘This is gonna work. Two minutes into the conversation, it felt like I’ve known this person for 100 years.”

Despite suggestions of a feud, Walton was also very keen to reiterate that Aimee is “so important” to him as he began to choke up.

He told the magazine: “There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me.” Turning to Aimee, he continued: “This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island, I think Greece. But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”

Aimee also responded to the feud rumours and Walton unfollowing her on Instagram, which she doesn’t appear fussed about at all.

“I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a s***e about Instagram,” she said.

While she had initially wanted to respond to the feud claims over the following, Aimee said that she decided to just “sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing”.

Explaining further about the unfollowing, Walton – whose first wife tragically died by suicide in 2004 – suggested that he simply wasn’t good with goodbyes and unfollowed anyone who was part of the show after filming wrapped up.

In tears, he said: “I knew what we had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea.”

Walton broke down in tears in the emotional interview

Walton went on to say that he had just needed to take a step back from everyone after filming ended and he hasn’t spoken to anyone as he “couldn’t handle it”. He added: “Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a f*** what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me.”

As the interview wrapped up, Walton declared that he would follow Aimee on Instagram again, declaring it all “ridiculous” and that he would be friends with her “for f***ing ever”.

Crying again as he hugged his former co-star, Walton added: “I’m emotional because we haven’t been in the same city to ever talk about this. So for me, this is just so wonderful.”

Clarkson’s Farm star Harriet Cowan’s life off-screen from long-term boyfriend to family feud

Glamorous farmhand Harriet Cowan has said goodbye to Jeremy Clarkson and the Diddly Squat farm after stepping in to provide much-needed cover – but she quickly became a fan favourite

New farmhand Harriet Cowan, 24, has said her goodbyes to the Diddly Squat farm after stepping in to provide some help to Jeremy Clarkson in series four – and a little dash of glamour.

The TikTok star was brought in as cover for manager Kaleb Cooper, 26, whilst he went on tour with his one-man show across the country, but on his return to the Chipping Norton farm, Harriet returned to her normal day-to-day life. In the sweet moment, she said goodbye to Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear presenter, and said she had been a lifesaver.

“You saved my life. So, if we get stuck again, can we give you a call?” He asked the trained nurse. However, as it stands, there are “no plans” that she will appear again in this series of Clarkson’s Farm, or any potential future ones – sources close to the show have previously revealed.

Whilst Harriet has left the show for now, the social media star quickly became a fan favourite – and boasts over 448,700 followers on her TikTok account and 159,000 on Instagram – with many calling for her to be brought back to the show.

Harriet comes from a farming family and grew up on her grandad’s livestock farm, which her dad has now taken over. Most of the content centres around life in agriculture and her unbelievably sweet brown collie dog, Sky. The Mirror takes a look at just what Harriet gets up to off-screen.

Girls’ holiday and nights out

Since finishing her time on Clarkson’s Farm, Harriet has jetted off with her friends to Spain to enjoy a break in the sunshine. She ditched the wellies, grabbed a bucket hat and a blue bikini, and spent some much-needed time away from the farm relaxing poolside – and shared a few snaps from her time away.

Harriet Cowan
Harriet swapped the wellies for a bikini and enjoyed a well deserved holiday

Harriet was seen getting dolled up for a night out with the girls and shared a picture of her hard at work blowing up a pink lido so they could lounge in the pool. She’s also reported to have tried on a few accessories at a local store.

Whilst Harriet spends a lot of her time hard at work on the farm and nursing – as well as reportedly working as an advocate for the mental health of farmers – she also likes to let her hair down, and often posts snaps on her socials of glamorous nights out with her pals and partner James Booth.

Boyfriend James

Harriet has been with her boyfriend James – who is also reported to be a third-generation farmer – for “some time,” according to one of her step sisters. The Clarkson’s Farm star regularly posts pictures and sweet videos with her partner, who she seems to have met at the Young Farmers Club (YFC), writing over one video post of the couple: “The ‘butterfly effect’ is crazy because if I didn’t join young farmers we’d of never of met.”

The pair obviously have a lot in common with their farming backgrounds, with Harriet writing in one joking post last year: “Your bf brings you presents to unwrap … Mine brings me bales to unwrap. We’re not the same.”

She joked in another post about lambing season, which saw her holding a seriously cute lamb “I’ve been covered head to toe in bodily fluids. But at the end of it all I expect my bf to take the bins out cause it’s gross”.

Nursing career

Whilst Harriet seems to be pretty busy helping out with the cows and sheep on the farm – she also has a full-time job as a nurse. She graduated from the University of Derby in 2023 and is now fully qualified, working for the NHS, so needless to say she has a pretty packed schedule.

In one post she joked about her packed calendar and the financial difficulties that can come with farming, writing over one video on her TikTok: “Thinking I could quit my job and farm full time… but then I remember I have a mortgage to pay.” She captioned the lighthearted post, “Suppose I would miss nursing a bit too”.

Family feud

Unfortunately, Harriet seems to be embroiled in some family tensions – with her stepsister speaking out about her publicly since her rise to fame on Clarkson’s Farm. Elina Clifford, a professional chiropodist, opened up about her feelings on her estranged step-sister Harriet, and she certainly didn’t hold back when it came to diving into the subject.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Elina dubbed her step-sister “fake” and “self-absorbed”, adding, “She loves to be the centre of attention, often at others’ expense”.

Harriet
Harriet’s a full-time nurse as well as a farmer(Image: Instagram/harrietcowan_x)

She also issued a blunt warning to Clarkson’s Farm: “She is fake in the way she behaves, so Jeremy Clarkson, beware!”. According to The Express, Elina and her elder sister Maddie – a teacher – blame the origins of the “family feud” on Harriet’s behaviour towards their mother Vicky, who is in a relationship with Harriet’s dad Eddy.

The sisters claim that Harriet isn’t nice to their mother, which has caused serious tension. “We don’t have a good relationship with her. Our mum is with her dad now, and there was a lot of drama a couple of years ago. There is a family feud, and Harriet was not being very nice to mum, and it was very upsetting,” said Maddie.

The siblings went as far as to say that Harriet was only taking part in Clarkson’s Farm in an attempt to grow her already massive social media following – calling it “sad and desperate” and claiming the TV star is “obsessed with herself”.

Clarkson’s Farm is now streaming on Prime Video.

‘Ekin- Su is a liar and a narcissist’ reveals BEST FRIEND as vicious feud exposed

LOVE Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has fallen out with her best pal – with the star being branded a “narcissist”.

Ekin-Su, who shot to fame on Love Island in 2022 and again on the All Stars series earlier this year, had previously been championed by close friend Mabel Asojo during her time on the reality show.

But now the pair have unfollowed each other on social media and sources say that they are no longer friends after a falling out.

Mabel recently shared a post to address her fallout with Ekin-Su.

It read: “To everyone flooding my inbox with updates and questions, save it.

“We are not friends – I don’t need to write an unsold self help book on loyalty for someone who can’t even grasp how to be a decent human.

“I don’t deal with liars, cheaters, bullies, or narcissists. So please stop involving me.

“Consider this your final update. I hope she discovers peace.

“It just won’t be through me.”

She then followed this up with a screengrab of one of Ekin-Su’s pals defending the star, while taking a swipe at Mabel.

They claimed: “Imagine smiling to someone’s face, claiming you were best friends, then selling stories behind their back – and trying to turn me against her too.

MAFS Georges slams ex Ekin-Su for having sex with Curtis on Love Island while ‘still in a relationship him’

“That’s next level snake behaviour. She’s real, loyal and solid and she doesn’t deserve the lies.

“Some people will do anything for attention.

“Glad we know who the rat was all along in the friendship circle.”

Taking a swipe at former friend Ekin, Mabel captioned it: “Wish you both the best.”

While a source said: “Ekin-Su’s friendship circle is at war. They’ve fallen out in a major clash and there is a big division between the group.

“The fallout worsened after Ekin-Su’s stint on All Stars, one of her long term friends has cut ties with her.

“One of her pals is not happy with her behaviour and has called her out for it.

“They’ve tried to be a good friend to her but think fame has gone to her head and she’s changed for the worse.

“Right now they’ve washed their hands of her and think she’s been a narcissist and disloyal in a bid to further her career.”

But another insider said Ekin-Su is not fully to blame.

They shared: “Ekin-Su has been under a lot of stress, those closest to her have unfairly turned their back on her.

“Ekin has always been a good friend and they should have had her back.”

The Sun have reached out to Ekin-Su’s rep for comment.

Back in 2022, Mabel – who met Turkish actress Ekin-Su at a hot tub party – helped her friend to become the first of this year’s Islanders to hit a million followers.

Mabel had supported her former friend during her stint on the show and looked after her social media account.

But it wasn’t all plain sailing and she’s admitted that the trolling has been very bad at times.

Mabel told The Sun at the time: “It was so hard.

“I spent a lot of time in my bedroom upset thinking she’s so sweet and down to earth and such a girls’ girl.”

They often appeared on each other’s Instagram but they have since deleted any trace of each other.

Meanwhile, Ekin seems happier than ever after finding love with Curtis Pritchard on the Love Island spin-off series.

Brooklyn Beckham’s wife Nicola Peltz ‘treated Romeo’s girlfriend appallingly’ sparking ‘terrible’ feud between brothers

BROOKLYN Beckham’s wife Nicola Peltz allegedly treated Romeo’s ex-girlfriend “appallingly”, leading to the feud between the brothers, it’s claimed.

Nicola, 30, and her husband Brooklyn, 26, have suffered a rift with his famous family after the couple snubbed his dad David’s 50th birthday bash earlier this month.

Reports have “blamed” Romeo’s current girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, for the feud – with her and Brooklyn having briefly dated in 2016.

But sources claim the row has actually been brewing for years and was originally first sparked in the run-up to Brooklyn and Nicola’s lavish Florida wedding in 2022.

Guests at the ceremony are reported to have found the bride’s behaviour “absolutely baffling” – with her allegedly completely ignoring 22-year-old Romeo’s then-partner model Mia Regan.

Nicola had also supposedly been blanking her in the run-up to the big day, despite Mia and Romeo having dated for three years at the time.

To make matters worse, Romeo was Brooklyn’s best man, alongside their younger brother Cruz, 20.

“Brooklyn and Romeo have been fighting for a significant amount of time,” an insider told Daily Mail.

“They do not get on. It has been so difficult for David and Victoria.”

They went on to say the two brothers were “once inseparable” and both doted on their two youngest siblings, Cruz and sister Harper, 13.

The source added: “Things have been terrible for a long time. It has upset their mum and dad so much. All they ever wanted was a big, happy family.”

Brooklyn’s wedding was a “turning point” for the family, with Romeo said to have found “the drama unnecessary”, it is claimed.

Prince Harry & Meghan’s secret mansion summit with Brooklyn Beckham & Nicola Peltz to share trauma of toxic family feuds

Brooklyn and Nicola have both previously denied there’s a rift with the family – despite reports suggesting they no longer speak to the Beckham side.

It was previously reported Brooklyn questioned Kim’s “motives” for starting a relationship with his younger sibling.

He is also said to have felt uncomfortable that his ex would be in attendance at his dad’s birthday bash.

But the blame was levelled at Nicola, which upset Brooklyn, according to a source.

They told The Sun: “She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive — she’s a loyal wife.”

All of Brooklyn’s siblings turned out to party with their dad, mum, and A-list names like Tom Cruise and Guy Ritchie.

But Beck’s eldest child and his wife were nowhere to be seen.

And since the snub, a rift between Brooklyn and his younger brother Romeo has been uncovered.

The Sun understands Nicola and Brooklyn had intended to be at David’s birthday bash but cancelled at short notice due to Kim being in attendance.

Inside Loose Women ‘war’ – stars locked in feud as some panellists branded ‘teachers’ pets’

The Loose Women panellists are believed to be enraged over the huge shake-up at ITV, which will see the programme taken off air for almost half of the year

Older members of the Loose Women panel are believed to be vowing to “fight” against the younger stars. It comes amidst a huge shake-up at ITV, which will see a huge overhaul of their daytime scheduling, affecting various shows.

The network announced earlier this week that Loose and Lorraine Kelly’s self-titled show will see its time on air cut to just 30 weeks of the year, rather than airing on a continuous basis. Despite This Morning being hit with a huge dip in viewing figures, the show will not be affected.

Lorraine’s programme has also taken another hit and will air for just half an hour, rather than an hour, as Good Morning Britain has been extended for an extra 30 minutes. But tension at Loose is believed to be at an all-time high, with panellists feeling as though they’re on a probation period.

It’s claimed that stars of the midday programme, including Christine Lampard and Coleen Nolan, hadn’t been informed of the news until it was made public. Reports claim that older women on the panel, who have been there since it launched a quarter of a century ago, believe they’ll be fighting against “PR friendly” younger members of the team, including Frankie Bridge, Olivia Attwood and TikToker GK Barry.

The majority of the panel have been through ITV cuts and the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009 and have come out the other side. But the news this week is said to have left them blindsided. A source said: “They feel like often all the negative criticism is levelled at them, the odd ‘out of touch’ comment, whereas with the new panellists such as Liv and Grace, there is a buzz around them because they have that different point of view.”

Sources have said that older member's of the panel have nothing to worry about

They added to The Sun: “Execs have also proudly pro-claimed how the youngsters have brought with them a much-needed new audience — and now all of a sudden the older panellists feel like they are going to have to fight for their places against these shiny teachers’ pets. It’s now five months or so for them to prove their worth and sing for their supper.”

But a source at the network said that the older panellists on Loose Women are “highly valued and celebrated”. They added that while there are reports of the panel “fighting” to get time on the show, the Loose Women podcast and Over 60 and Over 70s specials will “keep everyone busy.”

It’s claimed that regular anchors, including Christine, Kaye Adams, Ruth Langsford and Charlene White, are all safe in their positions but many have been left worried that bosses will meticulously look over their social media posts, episode ratings and audience polling results.

GK Barry and Frankie Bridge have apparently been a hit with bosses

Reports claim that many of the panellists feel they will now have to ‘audition for their role’ and tensions will rise as they continue to demonstrate how bold and feisty they can all be. Over the years, viewers have seen clashes between each of the panellists, with former star Carol McGiffin allegedly clashing with Andrea McLean after she was left off the invite list for her wedding.

Carol took to her Best Magazine column to highlight this, writing, “I’m ecstatic for them both, even though I wasn’t invited to the wedding. Andrea’s managed to squeeze in two weddings in less time than I’ve been engaged to Mark, which is a bit embarrassing, to say the least.”

Speaking in 2014, Mylene Klass, who often appears on the panel, hit out following a clash with broadcaster and journalist, Janet Street-Porter. On the show, Janet lost her temper with the star, saying,”I’m happiest when I’m not sat next to you Myleene!”

Janet has never shied away from sharing her thoughts on the panellists

Following this, the singer took to social media to vent: “I love Loose Women. It’s nice to be able to articulate and get things out there. But I feel it was getting a bit misogynistic, a bit post-menopausal or pre-menopausal and ranty. That’s not how women should be represented so it’s nice they’ve refreshed the panel and we can talk about politics, fashion designers and what else is going on in the week.

“It’s a show for women but I don’t feel like it empowered me. People think you’re best friends with everybody on Loose Women. You’re absolutely not. You have to just tolerate [some people] because you’ve got to get the job done.”

Elsewhere, speaking out last year, McGiffin fumed: “I don’t regret leaving – I don’t fit in there any more. Someone, somewhere, will be offended by absolutely everything. I’d rather not be on a show that panders to that. It’s boring – and I won’t be told what I can or can’t say.”

Despite her ongoing clash with the show, she has remained close to Denise Welch, Kaye, Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha. But, Carol, who never refrains from speaking her mind, told Women’s Own: “Some, I have nothing in common with. As I said to them, ‘You’re not friends, you’re just people I work with, who I really like.’ Which horrified them.”

Victoria Beckham says ‘we love you so much’ as she shares family photo with son Brooklyn amid feud

VICTORIA Beckham has publicly sent her love to Brooklyn Beckham amid the family’s feud.

The 51-year-old Spice Girl and fashion designer has expressed her love for her eldest son despite rumours of a rift.

She said “we love you so much” alongside a snap of the family, with Brooklyn seen front and centre in the photograph.

In the snap, Brooklyn could be seen beaming beside his two brothers, his sister, and his grandparents.

Cruz was stood next to Romeo who was standing beside their grandma Jackie and their granddad, with Harper then standing as her brother Brooklyn put his arm around her.

“We both love you all so much,” she penned alongside the snap.

Victoria then tagged her mum Jackie Adams, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

This comes after Brooklyn and his wife Bates Motel actress Nicola Peltz were notable absentees from David Beckham‘s recent birthday bash – with whispers of a rift ramping up.

Brooklyn’s siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper all turned out to party with their dad, mum, and famous names like Tom Cruise and Guy Ritchie.

Meanwhile, the eldest Beckham child and his wife were nowhere to be seen.

And since the snub, a rift between Brooklyn and his younger brother Romeo has been uncovered.

Romeo’s girlfriend is Kim Turnbull, who previously dated Brooklyn for a short while.

Romeo and his girlfriend Kim have kept things low-key since going public in November.

The Sun understands Nicola and Brooklyn had intended to be at David’s birthday bash but cancelled at short notice due to Kim being in attendance.

Brooklyn felt uncomfortable that his ex would be in attendance.

But the blame is being levelled at Nicola, which has upset Brooklyn, according to a source.

Posh and Becks’ plan to make Harper Beckham a star

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly planning to help their daughter Harper become a star. The couple, who have already seen their sons Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz venture into the public eye, are said to be keen on guiding their youngest child into the limelight. Harper, who is 13 years old, has already shown a keen interest in fashion and beauty, much like her mother, Victoria.

Victoria, a former Spice Girl turned fashion designer, and David, an ex-footballer, believe that Harper has the potential to make a significant impact in the entertainment industry. They are allegedly exploring various opportunities for her, including social media ventures and brand collaborations. The Beckhams are known for their savvy business acumen and are reportedly ensuring that Harper’s foray into stardom is carefully managed.

The couple’s decision to support Harper’s ambitions comes as no surprise, considering their own successful careers and the prominence of their family in the media. With her parents’ guidance and the resources at their disposal, Harper could very well follow in their footsteps and carve out her own niche in the world of fashion and entertainment.

They said: “She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive — she’s a loyal wife.”

Brooklyn and Nicola also missed an intimate evening earlier this month at the family’s £10million Cotswolds mansion.

The two Manchester-born stars became famous together when they were in the band Oasis.

Clashing personalities saw Noel briefly quit the band after Liam threw a tambourine at him during a performance.

Later, Noel hit Liam on the head with a cricket bat when Liam annoyed him while he was working.

Liam’s last-minute pull-out and heckling from the audience during their MTV Unplugged performance in 1996 added to the feud.

The last straw was when a backstage argument in Paris in 2009, reportedly over Liam’s clothing firm, Pretty Green, led to Noel’s decision to leave the band.

But last month, Liam and Noel performed together for the first time in 16 years as they took to the stage of a members’ club in north London.

And now, the pair are preparing for the Oasis reunion tour which will take place later this year.

Although Leo and his step-brother Adam were close as kids, as they grew up, they grew apart.

In the 00s and 10s, Adam accused Leo of putting fame before his family.

In 2016, Adam spoke out about his relationship with Leo.

“We were once so close. I loved him and I still do,” he told MailOnline.

He added: “But we’ve not spoken in a couple of years. The last time I saw Leo was at his birthday party a couple of years ago.

“I’d been invited by another friend. Leo was pleased to see me and gave me a hug.

“But when I try to call him, my messages go unanswered. He has a whole team around him now and it’s impossible to penetrate that wall of hangers-on.”

He also told the paper: “Leo wants to save the world but he seems more concerned about the environment and climate change than he does about his own brother. It hurts.”

While Leo got famous, Adam developed a marijuana and cocaine habit, as well as a serious heroin addiction, with this coming to a head in 2008.

“I was arrested five or six times for petty theft, shoplifting from supermarkets, trying to support an opiate addiction of half a gram to a gram a day,” Adam told the outlet.

“Leo and I never had an argument. But he started surrounding himself with people that didn’t want me around. He’s the biggest star in the world and there’s me, messed up on drugs. I was slowly shut out of his world.

“Finally I got tired of going in and out of jail. I’ve been off heroin since 2013,” he said.

Megan and her half sister Samantha Markle have been embroiled in a feud that has been long-running for many years.

According to Samantha, she and Meghan were close when they were growing up, although this is not backed by the Duchess.

The pair are 17 years apart and did not grow up at the same time.

In 2018, Vanity Fair reported that Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle “moved in together a couple of years before Meghan was born, along with Samantha and Thomas junior, who had relocated to L.A. after living with their mum.”

In Meghan’s chat with Oprah in 2021, she declared: “I grew up as an only child, which everyone who grew up around me knows, and I wished I had siblings.”

Samantha is estranged from Meghan, and the pair have not spoken for more than a decade, since her “early twenties”, it has been claimed.

Due to their estrangement, Samantha was not invited to Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. Samantha said at the time: “Out of respect and humanitarianism, the Markles should be invited if 2,000 complete strangers are. Our uncle, brother, me, best friend of 30 years, nephews. At issue is not a matter of closeness. Family is family.”

Nick and Aaron Carter grew apart over the years.

The pair’s bond weakened due to childhood trauma, addiction, and family drama.

In 2019, Nick filed a restraining order against Aaron, saying he had made violent threats.

Aaron denied this also accusing Nick of abuse.

On November 5, 2022, Aaron died at his home in California at the age of 34.

His body was found in his bathtub by a housekeeper.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner later ruled that Carter’s death was accidental: drowning after inhaling difluoroethane and taking alprazolam (Xanax).

He was cremated, and his ashes were left in the care of his twin sister Angel.

Julia Roberts and her half-sister Nancy Motes had a “tortured” bond before she died by suicide.

In 2014, Nancy, who was 37, was found in a bathtub filled with water at a friend’s home in Los Angeles, where she had been dog-sitting.

LA County Coroner spokesman John Kades said prescription drugs had been found at the residence.

She wrote a suicide note blaming Julia for bullying her most of her adult life.

In the three-page note, she said: “My so-called siblings get nothing except the memory that they are the ones that drove me into the deepest depression I’ve been in.”

Louis Tomlinson and his half-sister Georgia

The One Direction star’s biological dad left shortly after he was born and became estranged from him.

His father later had a daughter called Georgia who became a huge One Direction fan when she was 14.

She and Louis’ biological dad, Troy, then saw Louis in a One Direction concert when the band were at the height of fame.

The siblings failed to reconnect.

Coronation Street lines up life-changing twist for Kit as Mick feud intensifies

Coronation Street’s Kit Green makes a shocking discovery next week on the ITV soap that paves the way for deadly scenes on the ITV soap involving villain Mick Michaelis

There’s a jaw-dropping moment for one Coronation Street character next week and it could change everything.

Kit Green will feature in a life-changing twist, with a discovery leading to some deadly scenes on the ITV soap. One moment in upcoming episodes, following a flashback special, will see Kit uncover something truly shocking.

As he considers what he’s discovered he’s warned off, but it seems he might let slip something leading to an explosive set of episodes. A new spoiler video reveals the moment when Kit comes face-to-face with a new character, only for him to realise he shares a link with them.

Something the character says rings alarm bells for Kit who literally stops in his tracks, and the penny seems to drop. With that he has one question, before he’s told something that possibly backs up what he thinks he’s uncovered.

In the clip Kit pins Brody Michaelis up against a wall after he steals from the corner shop, where Kit’s mother Bernie Winter works. Given Kit asks for Brody’s name in the scene, it hints Kit is unaware he is the son of Lou and Mick Michaelis – while he did see him with the pair last week.

All has just been revealed about Mick and Lou’s past with Kit, with the trio being friends when they were teens. It all fell apart though, as revealed in Friday’s flashback episode, when Mick was sent to prison for a crime Kit was involved in.

Mick took the fall and Kit soon fled, never seeing Mick or Lou again until now. Kit also realised Lou and Mick had a son, and he appeared to clock on that Lou was pregnant back when they knew each other, or that she had a baby not long after they went their separate ways.

With that it’s become apparent that something happened between Kit and Lou in the past, and Mick has no idea. So Kit’s run-in with Brody next week opens up a can of worms when he finds out Brody’s birthday.

Taking down some personal details, Brody reveals his name and that he was born in January 2009. As soon as he hears this Kit stops writing and looks very shocked, realising this was around the time he last saw Lou and Mick was sent away.

Kit Green will feature in a life-changing twist, with a discovery leading to some deadly scenes

Questioning whether he could be the real father of Brody he confronts Brody’s mother Lou. He says: “Is he mine? Lou, could Brody be mine?”

Lou doesn’t even deny it and absolutely hints Kit is correct. Telling him “not to rock the boat”, she responds: “Mick loves him. He’s his dad and has been for 16 years. Please don’t do this.”

But spoilers for next week reveal that Kit will make Mick reconsider Lou’s loyalty with a comment. So does Kit tell Mick that he might be Brody’s dad? After all Mick does find out the truth, as actor Joe Layton teased the villain would be “blindsided” to find out that something happened between them, and that he might not be Brody’s biological father.

A blood feud rocks O.C. law enforcement

It’s a bitter feud the likes of which are seldom seen in law enforcement circles — or at least those that boil over into public view.

For over seven years now, Orange County’s top prosecutor and a decorated former cop have been locked in an acrimonious dispute that shows little sign of abating. Both parties have accused the other of fractured ethics and corruption, and even an independent arbitrator likened the situation to a simmering cauldron.

Damon Tucker, a former supervising investigator for the county, has alleged in a lawsuit that he uncovered potential evidence of money laundering, terrorist threats and extortion by his then-boss, Orange County Dist. Atty. Todd Spitzer. Tucker claims in his lawsuit that Spitzer and others quashed the probe and then fired the investigator as an act of retaliation, leaving him humiliated and shunned by law enforcement.

Spitzer has publicly called Tucker a “dirty cop,” and accused him of working with his opponents — including former Orange County Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas — to launch an investigation to hurt him politically. Tucker’s behavior, Spitzer says, was a “disgrace to the badge.”

Now, in yet another escalation of this Orange County drama, Tucker has called on the California attorney general, the U.S. Department of Justice, the State Bar of California and other agencies to investigate Spitzer; the OCDA Bureau of Investigation Chief Paul Walters; and former Chief Assistant Dist. Atty. Shawn Nelson, who is now an Orange County Superior Court judge.

“These allegations must be fully investigated,” Tucker wrote in a letter to those agencies.“Failure to investigate these men casts a shadow over our system of justice.”

Tucker’s call for an investigation of events dating back nearly a decade comes as the district attorney’s office is already facing increased scrutiny over its treatment of employees. Both Spitzer and Nelson face a potential civil trial next week over accusations they retaliated against female employees who say they were sexually harassed by former Senior Assistant Dist. Atty. Gary LoGalbo, a onetime friend of Spitzer’s who is now deceased.

Spitzer and Walters have declined to discuss Tucker’s accusations with The Times. Nelson, through a court spokesperson, also declined, saying judges were prohibited by ethical rules from discussing cases before the court or in media reports.

The California Attorney General’s office confirmed that it is reviewing Tucker’s complaint but would not comment further. The State Bar has also begun a review of the allegations and has requested more information and documentation, according to a letter reviewed by The Times. A spokesperson for the State Bar declined to comment or confirm whether a complaint was received, adding that disciplinary investigations are confidential.

The U.S. Department of Justice would neither comment nor confirm that it had received the letter. Tucker said he also sent a letter to California’s Commission on Judicial Performance. The commission also declined to comment.

A veteran investigator of nearly 30 years, Tucker was fired from the DA’s office in December 2020 over allegations he had initiated a unilateral investigation into Spitzer shortly after he took office.

Tucker sued the county — alleging he was fired and retaliated against for uncovering corruption — and in 2022 he won his job back, along with lost wages. Last year, he received a $2-million out-of court settlement from the county, according to Tucker’s attorney.

Kimberly Edds, a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office, said a non-disparagement agreement signed by Tucker and Spitzer as part of the settlement prevented the office from commenting.

Tucker’s accusations date to an inquiry that was begun in October 2016, when another district attorney investigator, Tom Conklin, was assigned to assist the Fair Political Practices Commission in looking into allegations of campaign finance irregularities by Spitzer, who was at the time an Orange County supervisor but was considering a run for district attorney.

In his recent letter to multiple agencies, as well as in his lawsuit, Tucker alleges the investigation into Spitzer was left unfinished and, even though he and another investigator at one point suggested it should be forwarded to the FBI or state attorney general, the investigation was never referred to an outside agency.

A year after the 2016 investigation began, Conklin’s report was leaked to the Orange County Register, and the newspaper reported that Conklin had been unable to corroborate the allegations.

The leak came at a key time for Spitzer, who had just announced his campaign for district attorney. At the time, he told the Register the investigation had been politically motivated by his political rival, Rackauckas, and that nothing had been found. At the time, a spokesperson for Rackauckas confirmed the investigation but declined to comment on the allegations.

The leak sparked an internal investigation in the district attorney’s office and, when the initial investigator retired, Tucker was ordered to finish the case.

Tucker was tasked with finding out who leaked the report, but after reviewing the case, Tucker concluded that Conklin’s investigation was incomplete.

At least 10 identified witnesses in the case were never interviewed, and several leads had not been followed, according to an investigative summary written by Tucker, and given to a senior deputy district attorney he consulted with in the case.

During his investigation, Tucker reached out to superiors and colleagues at the district attorney’s office and said the allegations against Spitzer needed to be sent out to an outside agency, such as the FBI, for an impartial review.

Tucker said that as he continued to investigate and prepared to send the case to an outside agency, things suddenly changed.

The day after Spitzer was elected district attorney in 2018, Tucker said Walters ordered him to stop digging into the accusations, and to remove any mention of Spitzer’s name from questions in his investigation, according to an investigative summary and sworn depositions, taken in Tucker’s lawsuit against the county. Two days later, Tucker was removed from the case.

In a sworn deposition, Walters confirmed he ordered Tucker to remove questions about Spitzer from his investigation the day Spitzer became the district attorney-elect.

“That’s where I have to tell Tucker, ‘You can’t be asking all these questions about Spitzer,” Walters testfied. “It’s not the case. And I make him redact all that stuff.”

Tucker maintains that, up until the election, Walters supported his investigation.

“I was doing the right thing,” Tucker told The Times. “This should have been sent out.” Walters declined to respond to The Times about that accusation.

However, a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office said it was Tucker who refused to turn over the investigation.

“He was given the opportunity and declined to do so,” said Edds, the D.A’.s spokesperson. “He was offered the opportunity repeatedly.”

Tucker disputes that assertion.

Spitzer has characterized Tucker’s investigation as being politically motivated, and has pointed out in sworn depositions that Tucker had donated to his opponent, Rackauckas, and was friends with Rackauckas’ chief of staff, Susan Kang.

According to county records, Tucker made a $2,000 donation to Rackauckas’ campaign in August 2018, after he’d been assigned to investigate the leak.

Tucker had also been critical of Spitzer during the campaign in multiple Facebook posts, before and after he took up the case.

“I think they sent him off on this fishing expedition to get something on me after the primary election in 2018,” Spitzer said in a deposition. “He’s investigating me while he’s making a major campaign contribution to my opponent? That’s not objective.”
