‘Absolute joke’ fume shoppers after spotting Christmas decor on shelves four months early

SHOPPERS have slammed a bargain retail giant after spotting Christmas decor on shelves four months early.

Many have claimed it is “ridiculous” and an “absolute joke” to see the festive decorations so early in the year.

Despite this August being sunnier and warmer for Scots than normal, The Range is already preparing for the winter months.

And shoppers were left fuming when the retailer showed off its range of Christmas buys that are now up for grabs.

The Range took to social media to share its brand new collection of festive decor, which is already stocked on shelves.

In one Facebook post, the shop showed a number of festive cushions and teddies, including cuddly Christmas puddings, gingerbread men, candy canes, and snowy trains and villages.

There was also a huge collection of different Christmas bedding sets, each with its own theme, and large Santa toys.

Fan favourite festive candles were also on display, as well as diffusers with classic Christmas smells such as gingerbread and cranberries.

Other pieces of decor for the home were up for grabs, like little gingerbread house ornaments, green glass trees and gold lanterns.

The Range captioned one post: “They’re here… and yes, it’s still summer.

“Our Christmas candles have officially landed. Because it’s never too early for a little festive magic.”

And another post on Facebook read: “Not to sleigh the surprise… but since you asked for MORE, here’s a little festive teaser.

‘I’m so ready!’ people say as B&M drops this year’s Christmas PJs, with cute kids’ ‘pigs in blankets’ ones for a fiver

“Too early? Snow way! Our full Christmas collection is coming soon – stay tuned!”

But the posts led to an outcry from shoppers who said it “spoils the magic” by being in shops so early – especially when the summer is still considered to be in full swing.

Many flocked to the comments to blast the shop for selling Christmas decor before the official start of autumn.

One person said: “Have a day off, it’s bloody August!”

Another added: “Spoils the magic of it. It’s ridiculous”.

Someone else wrote: “Absolute joke…”

While a fourth shared: “Ridiculous, it’s not even Halloween”.

And a fifth chimed in: “I love Christmas, but this is far too early”.

How to save money at The Range

THE Range shoppers can save extra cash by using these tips…

Shop, within a shop – In some The Range stores there’s a ‘secret’ shop within a shop.

The budget grocery items are a must for plenty of shoppers with hungry mouths to feed back at home.

Others, however, seem delighted to get into the Christmas spirit before summer’s over.

A user posted: “Woop woop, skip Halloween and just have Christmas”.

A second commented: “Can’t wait to see the full range of Christmas stock out in shops”.

And a shopper agreed: “Please hurry, I keep popping in to check”.

While a fourth cheered: “Sooooooooo excited, I love Christmas”.

Someone else added: “YASSSSSS, IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!”

Shoppers rush to Iceland for ‘delicious’ Greggs favourite now on shelves

SHOPPERS have gone wild for a fan-favourite Greggs product which has hit the shelves at Iceland.

The incredible baked product only costs £3 and you can get 4 of the delicious treats in one pack.

Greggs is known for its huge range of pastries, from its vegan sausage rolls to its steak and chicken bakes.

The bakery’s pain au chocolat are a particular favourite and are normally only available in stores.

However, customers now can pick up a four-pack of frozen pain au chocolat from Iceland.

An eagle-eyed shopper spotted the product whilst shopping and took to Facebook to break the news.

They captioned their post: “Greggs frozen Pain Au Chocolat spotted at Iceland Foods.”

Fans flooded the comments section, sharing their love for the baked product.

One wrote:”I got a bag yesterday, £3.”

Another raved: “They’re the best!”

The news comes after Greggs quietly axed a fan-favourite sandwich

Exclusively revealed by The Sun, the Roast Chicken Salad Roll has been pulled from the bakery’s shelves.

Greggs has been revamping its lunch range, with a new sandwich – also named the Roast Chicken Salad Roll – taking the old product’s place.

It includes sliced roast chicken breast, topped with tomato, cucumber, mixed leaf salad and mayonnaise.

Earlier this year, Greggs was also forced to make a major change to some of its stores

Due to a surge in shoplifting offences, several of the lunch items were moved behind the counter.

In some locations, the bakeries were enduring one robbery every twenty minutes – prompting the change.

One Greggs worker told The Sun: “The stealing before was so bad.

“I couldn’t put a number on how many thieves came in every day.”

At the time, a spokesperson for the bakery said: “This is one of a number of initiatives we are trialling across a handful of shops which are exposed to higher levels of anti-social behaviour.

“Safety of our colleagues and customers remains our number one priority.”

Some fans were thrilled, saying it’s never too early to prepare for Halloween.

It’s not the first time Home Bargains has caused a stir with its cut-price treats.

Earlier this month, shoppers went wild when Haribo share bags were spotted scanning at tills for only 29p.

The retailer teased fans with the post: “This is not a drill – Haribo share bag only 29p.”

Shoppers were quick to react.

One said: “That’s cheap.”

Pictures of trolleys stacked high with Haribo have since appeared online.

Fans bragged about filling cupboards for the kids, the office, and late-night snacks.

And the sweet deals don’t stop there.

Rowntree’s has also launched a brand new version of its famous fruit pastilles, called Squidgers, on shelves at Home Bargains.

The 99p sharing bags come with five fruity flavours: strawberry, lime, blackcurrant, orange and lemon.

They’ve been described as “irresistibly squidgy” and “bursting with flavour.”

One review read: “They taste exactly the same as fruit pastilles but in a sugary and spongy sweet texture.”

Another fan said: “They sound so nice, I need to try these.”

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

The shop that is in the firing line is The Range, which took to social media to share the collection of Christmas goodies already stocked on shelves.

In one post, the shop shared a collection of their Christmas candles, shaped Christmas crackers, baubles, Christmas pudding and snowflakes.

They captioned the post: “They’re here… and yes, it’s still summer.

“Our Christmas candles have officially landed. Because it’s never too early for a little festive magic.”

However. it seemed that shoppers weren’t convinced and many accused the store of ruining Christmas.

Another post from The Range’s Facebook page showed that it wasn’t just candles on offer.

Homeware decorations were also up for grabs including Christmas pudding plushies, gingerbread men cushions and giant candy canes.

Many shoppers took to the comments fuming that Christmas was already taking over when it was the middle of summer.

One person wrote: “Give over, you’re spoiling Christmas now, far too soon.”

Another commented: “Oh go away!”

I visited Lapland’s Santa Claus Village in the summer — turns out Santa’s not just for Christmas

“Seriously, can we just enjoy what’s left of the summer?” penned a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “It spoils Christmas, it’s the summer holiday and by the time it gets to Christmas you’re sick of the sight of it.”

“Absolutely ridiculous,” claimed a fifth

Someone else added: “What a joke! It’s August, pure greed!”

How to save money on Christmas shopping

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.

Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.

Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.

Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.

Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.

Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.

Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.

Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.

They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.

FESTIVE CHEER

B&M has also outraged shoppers after a photo of the Guylian countdown treat was shared on New Foods UK’s Facebook page.

The £12 calendar is filled with three different flavours of the iconic Belgian chocolates.

From December 1 to 24, behind each door is a milk truffle, original seashell, or salted caramel delight.
