Coronation Street fans ‘rumble’ who is calling Jodie as Corriedale fallout continues

Coronation Street fans think they have worked out just who is calling newcomer Jodie Ramsey and it could have a link to Emmerdale after the two programmes joined forces for Emmerdale

Coronation Street fans think they have worked out just who is calling newcomer Jodie Ramsey on the ITV soap. Fans of the world’s longest running soap were treated to a historic crossover episode earlier this month when the programme joined forces with Emmerdale, and it seems clear that the link between the two shows is still there.

One of the biggest surprises in Corriedale was the revelation that Graham Foster was still alive, years after he was supposedly murdered on Emmerdale, and Jodie was seen tied up in the back of his van. She has since made it to Weatherfield, where she promptly revealed herself as the long-lost sister of Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), even thought the Roy’s Rolls waitress has failed to make any mention of her sibling throughout her decade on the Manchester backstreet.

In Monday’s edition of Coronation Street, Jodie was seen ignoring her phone as it rang over and over again and eventually had a panic attack. The worrying moment led to David, who is married to Shona, inviting her to stay with her at number eight but there was no mention of just who was harassing Jodie.

Taking to Reddit, one fan asked: “Right then, who do we think Jodie was avoiding calls from on Monday? I’m not as clued up with Emmerdale, but do we think there’s a link there? Bit sick of this long-lost thing to be honest, did she HAVE to be Shona’s sister?” In response, another viewer said: “Calling it now it’s graham foster! surely he wouldnt have just let her go after all that!”

A second fan said: “Agree about the long lost thing its been used to often in soaps and that was a ridiculous way for Jodie to be introduced Graham would be my guess but if she was captive in that van would she still have her phone anyway.” But others think it might have been sex trafficker Nathan Curtis, and Shona was instrumental in saving David’s niece Bethany (Lucy Fallon) from him when she first arrived, having crossed paths with him before.

One fan wrote: “I’m going to guess an abusive ex boyfriend that she has only just escaped,” and another replied: “It would be interesting if it were Nathan bc that’s partly what caused Shona to join, although I think he’s in prison!”

Fans were already suspicious of the situation when Jodie first arrived, with one writing: “Shona’s sister just came out of nowhere, why now? Must be more to the story!”

Another said: “Apparently Jodie is Shona’s sister, but I don’t understand why they’ve got her turning up now. And in such a weird way – bound up in the back of a van. And what’s the relevance of them both having the tree of life tattoo? It’s bound to be something weird.”

In recent years, the programme has favoured the use of characters being revealed as relatives, with Bernie Winter having been revealed as the long-lost mother of DC Kit Green, whilst the police officer himself turned out to be the real father of Brody Michaelis, after the tearaway teenager turned up on a neighbouring street with his family.

Prior to that, Britain’s Got Talent star and comedian Jack Carroll was cast as Bobby Crawford, a nephew that Carla Connor (Alison King) never knew she had. In 2018, former Brookside actress Claire Sweeney was cast as Cassie Plummer on the programme, and a major retcon took place where it was revealed that she was the biological mother of Tyrone Dobbs, not Jackie Dobbs, who was built into the history of the show when she played a major part in Deirdre Barlow’s legendary prison storyline some 20 years earlier.

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream from 7am on ITV X.

What happens next after Corriedale? ITV soap spoilers reveal all including arrest and death

Corriedale aired some dramatic scenes last night – but there’s still more drama ahead on Coronation Street and Emmerdale as the week goes on including another death…

Corriedale wowed fans with a dramatic episode of twists and turns as Emmerdale and Coronation Street came together for a one-off special. The ITV soaps aired some huge scenes including two deaths after a horror car crash.

The episode kicked off with Aaron Dingle and John Sugden swerving down the country roads, as Aaron held a gun up to his former lover. Lisa Swain was also suffering a similar fate, being driven away from the Cobbles by her former lover Becky.

In a shocking turn of events, the cars crashed and from there, even more chaos descended when multiple vehicles ended up in the pile-up, with two dead and likely more to come.

Spoilers for the upcoming week have teased some dramatic scenes ahead. On Emmerdale, at the busy hospital, the revelations continue as the truth about what happened during the crash – and why – are revealed.

One person makes a confession, and the perpetrator is just glad to be out of trouble. However, another character is filming them – and what trouble lies ahead for them? One character is in mortal danger.

Elsewhere, a deal is struck and there is also a betrayal – and more is revealed about Celia and Ray’s operation as the truth comes out, but at what cost and where does this all leave a terrified April?

Over on Coronation Street, Weatherfield is grieving for the loss of Billy as others fight for their lives. The truth starts to come out about what happened during the fateful crash – and why it all came about too.

One couple faces a life or death situation, whilst the police investigation continues and one resident finds themselves under arrest and facing charges – but who and what are they being charged with?

There’s wars between families and big surprises revealed, as the aftermath of the crash sends shockwaves through the the residents of Coronation Street – with dire consequences for all.

Speaking about the dramatic episode, Iain Macleod: “People love Corrie and people love Emmerdale and their distinct entities. They have their own tone of voice and their own sense of humour and their way of telling stories, and they wouldn’t blend long-term at all.

“I think it’s brilliant to bring them together for this but no, there are no plans to do anything similar in the future. Sorry to be the killjoy, those of you who were hoping there was more.”

Corriedale spoilers confirm new details: Crash cause, shock arrest and mystery body

Corriedale is just around the corner as the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale collide in a devastating crash, and new spoilers and pictures have teased what happens

Corriedale has finally arrived, with new teasers for Emmerdale and Coronation Street promising death and destruction.

According to new spoilers, there’s drama and twists and turns, while things may never be the same again. New teasers reveal what leads into the big crossover for both soaps, and it seems it could be anyone who perishes or is injured.

While details remain under wraps, it has been revealed that Weatherfield residents will grieve a loss. So who dies, and is it more than one fatality? Does anyone die in Emmerdale?

At the moment it is confirmed there’s a body, but it’s hinted this happens before Corriedale. It’s also not confirmed if the body is dead, as it just says lifeless, while we also don’t know who it is, and who is shown dragging them along.

What is revealed is that there’s life-changing repercussions when the soaps collide, as “a series of dramatic incidents lead to a multi-vehicle pile-up on a dark and stormy road between Hotten and Weatherfield”. Both soaps will air a 30-minute episode leading them into the hour-long crossover episode that same day.

A gun-wielding John Sugden is preparing for revenge, as Aaron Dingle attempts to save Robert Sugden’s life by agreeing to leave the village with his killer husband John. As Aaron faces grave danger, Robert and Joe speed off after them.

Then there’s Cain and Moira Dingle, who are driving Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sudden to the airport. They’re soon blinded by Mack flashing his headlights in a car behind them with his wife Charity in the passenger seat.

As Cain brakes, Mack smashes through a fence and into a field. As for Weatherfield residents, Carla Connor and Kit Green are in pursuit of Becky Swain, while Kit also soon ends up in pursuit of killer John. On the scene, it’s a race against time to save those trapped after the crash.

As traffic behind the crash site halts, we see a small van pull up with a driver glancing at a terrified woman in the back, who is tied up. Also caught up in the accident in some way are Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding guests in the minibus. Guests include Billy, David, Shona, Steve, and Tracy.

Debbie herself could be in danger as she and Carl are in a car, with a drunken Carl losing control. In terms of what leads to the crash, one spoiler teases: “Becky, fleeing her past with Lisa and Betsy, loses control of her vehicle, triggering a multi-car pile-up on a stormy road between Hotten and Weatherfield.”

It seems the aftermath of the crash will be just as eventful. The injured are taken to hospital and life “will never be the same”. A body is left lying in a van at the depot, while there could be mortal danger after the crash for some.

As the details about what has happened and why come to light, a confession is shared. Just as someone believes they are in the clear, someone is watching and videoing their every move. All is not what it seems for some, while some people are keeping secrets.

Elsewhere, one couple face a life or death situation and the police investigation continues, with one resident finding themself under arrest and facing charges. Families are at war and there’s surprises from the past, with shockwaves sent around the cobbles.

It’s safe to say it’s an unmissable week of episodes, as the new pictures alone prove, never mind the teasers. But who will survive, and who will make it out unscathed?

From January 6 2026, Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X.

Coronation Street star confirms role in Corriedale episode – but it’s unexpected

Coronation Street’s Debbie Webster actress Sue Devaney has teased all about the big soap wedding, Carl Webster’s comeuppance and the explosive Corriedale episode

As Coronation Street‘s Debbie Webster continues to adapt to living with young onset vascular dementia, one thing she’s determined to see go ahead is her extravagant wedding to Ronnie Bailey.

But actress Sue Devaney, who has played the fan favourite since 1984, warns there’s plenty of tension as the big day arrives thanks to Debbie’s warring siblings Kevin [Michael Le Vell] and Carl [played by Jonathan Howard].

Sue, 58, says Debbie won’t let their feud spoil the wedding of her dreams though. The hotel owner hasn’t had much luck with men in Weatherfield, dumped by tearaway Dazz in the 80s, before her scheming ex Ray Crosby brought trouble to her door in 2020, a year on from her return to the Cobbles.

But Debbie has finally found the one in Ronnie amid the devastation of her diagnosis. “She’s never found true love until now,” admits Sue. “I think because Ronnie said to her, ‘I’m not going anywhere, you might be poorly, you might have dementia, but I’m sticking by your side,’ she just sees that as true love.”

Sue originally joined the soap as a teenager in 1984 and bowed out a year later, before becoming a key character after her return in 2019. She’s proven a hit with fans ever since, and so her character’s sad health news came as a blow. Sue and show bosses have promised there’s plenty more to see from Debbie before her eventual heartbreaking exit.

As the soap continues to highlight the condition and what it’s like to live with dementia, Debbie’s wedding sees a performance from the dementia choir in an emotional touch. “I was over the moon because it was so beautiful,” shares Sue. “When they started singing, I had a little tear. It was fabulous. They sounded amazing.”

Sue even got to have her say when it came to Debbie’s amazing wedding look, sharing her inspiration behind the dress. She admits: “I said I just want to look like a Joan Collins from Rochdale. They delivered brilliantly. I wanted that shape, you know, because I like the feathers and that kind of 50s shape with big shoes and a big feather headdress.”

The day is not without its drama, as attention falls on Carl who has been targeting Debbie, even using her diagnosis against her as he plots to flee with her money. With plenty of secrets set to come out, it’s on Kevin and his ex Abi [Sally Carman-Duttine] to expose the truth. “In Debbie’s eyes, Carl can’t do anything wrong, because she loves her brother,” Sue confesses. “I think there’s going to be a lot of tension around the wedding where Abi is watching out for Carl because she doesn’t trust him.

“I think Debbie is letting him get away with little bits. She’s not that far down the line that she doesn’t see things. Love is blind, isn’t it?” Sue reveals the events of the wedding will lead into dramatic scenes as Coronation Street collides with Emmerdale in a special crossover episode, dubbed Corriedale.

“She doesn’t want Carl to leave,” Sue explains. “She doesn’t want Carl to leave the wedding. Also he’s drunk, so she doesn’t want him to drive off. She jumps in the car thinking, ‘Well, you can’t go anywhere if I’m in the car.’ And he thinks, ‘Well, I’m going somewhere,’ and carries on driving far too fast.”

It seems Debbie and Carl could be caught up in the big crash stunt too in something unexpected, possibly, to fans. As Sue shares all about filming for the episode, she appears to confirm Debbie and Carl will be in Carl’s car, after fans had speculated it could be her wedding party bus caught up in the drama. She also addressed some stunt work.

She says: “There was one scene where Carl had to drive off really fast and they had a dummy for me, you know, with the hair and feathers in the hair and everything. And I said to our director, ‘Can I not speed off with the stunt guy?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, go on then.’ He let me do it! It felt like doing a little movie or something.”

It’s safe to say that there will be big consequences in the fallout to Christmas and the start of 2026 too. “It’s not going to be plain sailing,” warns Sue. “There’s going to be some massive reveals, things that we didn’t know about Debbie, and quite a bit of reflection.”

Sue’s also hoping for more scenes with Debbie’s female pals, including Christina Boyd and Glenda Suttleworth, expressing the importance of women supporting women. Sue says: “I think that those friendships and those bonds that you have with another woman is something that has to be highlighted, because you don’t see it that often in soap. I think they should do an episode just with women.”

While it’s been a busy time for the actress, she’s planned a relaxing time off over the Christmas period with her husband Jim O’Farrell, whom she married in a private ceremony last year. “I’m going to be away for three weeks,” Sue teases. “Me and my husband are going to relax in the sunshine. Stepping off that plane, hiring a car, going island hopping. And not a script in sight. I’ll tell you what else is not in sight: phone is off.”
