A SHOPPER has sparked a debate among bargain hunters after sharing an incredible yellow sticker haul on social media – and admitting she cleared the shelves of highly reduced items.
The savvy shopper managed to scoop up 51 cartons of fruit juice for less than £4, along with a massive discount on cleaning essentials.

The post quickly racked up comments after the woman declared: “Yes I cleared the shelves who wouldn’t,” justifying her massive purchase.
The focus of her shopping spree was Morrisons, though she noted the deal might not be nationwide.
The woman, who shared her impressive savings in the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing And Bargains UK, basket was full of discounted everyday essentials.
She bought 17 multipacks of juice cartons (4x apple and blackcurrant, 13x orange juice) that were priced at a mere 20p per pack.
This means she paid just £3.40 for 51 individual juice cartons, a saving of over 90% on the original price.
The money saver also grabbed a huge stock of Dettol cleaning wipes.
These were marked up at 75p but scanned at an even lower 37p per pack of 70 wipes.
She bought 13 packs, grabbing a year’s worth of cleaning supplies for just £4.81.
But her post soon quickly got a reaction from other money savers.
Many users congratulated her on the incredible luck, insisting that any serious bargain hunter would do the same but others disagreed.
I did my weekly shop in Tesco for under £25 – here’s my exact shopping list & my tip to avoid tears when chopping onions
“I wouldn’t have cleared the shelf actually,” one wrote.
A second also stated: “It’s lovely to hear of people getting a bargain but when you say…
“I cleared the shelf, surely you didn’t mean that figuratively.
“I mean you did leave some for someone else to ‘get a bargain’?”

“I’m sorry but I get annoyed when people clear the shelf.
“I just think it’s a great bargain but please be fair to others to have the opportunity to get as well,” a third added.
But someone else said: “Why not, great find. That pack lunches are sorted.”
And another added: “Well done you…I would have as well…always share with relations and friends.”
A Facebook user also commented: “Well done you, who wouldn’t take the lot I would , to split between my family.”
Money saving challenges
Here’s some of our favourite money saving challenges.
Weather saving challenge – Save the amount equal to whatever the highest temperature was that week. £1 = 1C.
1p challenge – save 1p a day for everyday of the year, but it increase the amount by 1p each day. So day one you save 1p, 2p on day two and 3p on day three. When you reach 100 days you start adding a £1 coin each day too, while this increases to a £2 coin each day plus pennies at 200 days, and £3 each day on top of pennies at day 300.
20p a day challenge – Start by putting 20p in savings, then increase the amount by 20p every day. For example, the first week will look like this: 20p, 40p, 60p, 80p, £1, £1.20, £1.40.
£5 a week challenge – Like the 20p challenge, put aside £5 a week and increase it by a fiver each week. Eg £5, £10, £15, £20
Round-up challenge – Every time you buy something, round up the purchase to the nearest £1 and put the difference in a savings account. Eg. You pay £2.60, so you put 40p in savings. You can use an app such as Monzo or Starling to do this.
Bingo challenge – Here you have a bingo card with different numbers on it and you tick them off when you’ve put that amount in your savings account. It can be ad hoc but you have to tick them all off by the end of the month.
Monday to Sundaychallenge – With this challenge, you simply save £1 on Monday, £2 on Tuesday and so on until the weekend where you don’t save on Saturday or Sunday.
365 day challenge – Every Sunday you put aside £1, followed by £2 on Monday, £3 on Wednesday and so on. On Saturday you’ll put away £7, and then the process repeats and you’ll put aside £1 on Sunday as the new week begins
Robot vacuums come in a wide variety of budgets and capabilities, from basic models that just sweep to high-end devices that map your entire home and even mop.
But you don’t always have to splash the cash for great features, as Amazon often drops the price on some leading cleaning devices.
Right now, you can snap up the Vexilar Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum Cleaner for an absolutely steal.
It was priced at £329.99, but is currently reduced to just £199.98 – that’s a discount of almost 40%.
We in the Sun Shopping team haven’t tested out this particular models ourselves – for some tested recommendations, you’ll need to head to our best robot vacuum cleaners page.
But this device has proved incredibly popular with shoppers, currently ranking as the third-best selling robot vacuum on the Amazon site.
The Vexilar packs two pieces of impressive tech for a price that’s now firmly in budget territory.
Firstly, it’s unusual to get a robot vacuum for less than £200 that comes with a self-emptying bin – that’s usually the domain of premium devices.
(I recently reviewed a flagship robot vac that self-empties, but it costs a whopping £1,119 – read my Eureka J15 Max Ultra review if you’re curious.)
The Vexilar’s base station contains a 2L dust bag, which is advertised to last for 60 days before you need to empty it.
That’s a massive plus for busy households.
Secondly, there’s the laser-mapping, which is something you’ll not often see with cheaper devices.
Basically, its Advanced LDS Laser Navigation will precisely map your home in 360 degrees, allowing it to plan the most efficient cleaning route.
It even lets you set virtual ‘no-go’ zones and customise suction or water levels for specific rooms via the app.
When it comes to power, the vacuum boasts a 6000Pa suction, and the manufacturer says it’s effective at tackling pet hair and debris on everything from hardwood floors to low-pile carpets.
The device also has a long 180-minute runtime on a single charge in quiet mode, before returning to its base station to re-charge.
You can control it via the companion app, or connect it to your smart home using Alexa, Google Home, or Siri – that’s seriously hands-off cleaning.
2
The Vexilar robot vacuum will run for 3 hours off a single charge in quiet mode
“Worth it – powerful, reliable, and hassle-free,” says one happy customer.
“[I’m] really happy with this robot vacuum. Easy to set up, cleans well, and the auto-empty base is a big time saver.
It navigates around furniture without any issues and picks up dust and pet hair easily… Makes life a lot easier. Definitely recommend.”
Another shopper writes: “I’ve been using this for a few days now but oh boy! I’m honestly impressed!
“The battery lasts long enough to finish the whole house, and if it runs low it goes back, recharges and picks up where it left off.
“I also like that I can control it with the app or just ask Alexa to start cleaning,” said another.
“Worth every penny, don’t hesitate!” wrote a third shopper, while other buyers described it
“Complete game-changer,” commented a fourth.
“Life-changing,” was the verdict of a fifth reviewer.
This huge saving on the Vexilar Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum Cleaner is marked as a limited-time deal, so you shouldn’t wait too long if you want to bag this bargain.
Keep in mind that Amazon Prime Day is happening next week (October 7th-8th), and it’s not impossible that this device could drop even lower in price.
However, any potential further discount will likely be a deal only available to Amazon Prime members.

We are expecting exceptional Black Friday promotions on vacuum cleaners, exciting deals on Dyson vacuums, competitive offers on Shark vacuum cleaners, and smart deals on vacuum bags, filters, and bundles, as well as much more.
Since stock for premium selections tends to sell out quickly, set alerts and be prepared to check out swiftly.
What vacuum cleaner deals can we expect in the Black Friday 2025 sale?
Retailers are lining up cordless vacuum deals, Black Friday robot vacuum deals and sharp handheld vacuum deals across November.
Watch for exclusive Dyson Black Friday vacuum deals and brand-direct Shark drops, plus retailer bundles with extra heads and pet tools.
What vacuum cleaner deals went live on Black Friday 2024?
Last year, Dyson and Shark led the way with some of the deepest discounts, while robot models surged thanks to the introduction of mapping and self-emptying features, which received significant price cuts.
Cordless sticks were the hot ticket, and bundles with pet tools sold out first.
Expect similar patterns in 2025: quick sellouts on hero models, competitive price matching, and fresh waves of stock arriving over the weekend.
Plan for fast decisions on top specs and colours.
When is Cyber Monday 2025, and are vacuum cleaner retailers taking part?
It’s the finale to the weekend, often with new promos or deeper cuts rather than just leftovers.
You can follow our deals stream at our Cyber Monday hub, and expect second-chance drops on things like Dyson Black Friday vacuum deals, Black Friday Shark vacuum deals and Miele vacuum deals across major retailers and brand sites.
How much does vacuum cleaner shipping cost?
Most big retailers offer free standard delivery once you cross a low threshold (which vacuums usually do).
Expect optional upgrades—such as next-day, weekend, or timed slots—for an extra fee, typically a small add-on.
Click & Collect can be the cheapest, fastest route if the stock’s local.
Members (e.g., Prime) often receive faster delivery as a standard feature.
Always compare the total price, including delivery, rather than just the product price.
More Black Friday Appliance Deals
When will the Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals start in 2025?
Early birds will see Black Friday vacuum deals in late October, with larger waves of deals through November.
Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, AO, and Currys typically ramp up their Black Friday vacuum cleaner promotions the week of Black Friday, then refresh them for Cyber Monday.
Hero models sell out within hours. If you spot a target price on Dyson or Shark early, grab it—waiting for an extra fiver off is how you miss it.
What vacuum cleaner should I buy?
Match the machine to your home.
Pets and carpets? Prioritise strong suction, anti-hair-wrap tech and motorised pet tools.
Big spaces? Consider battery life, swappable batteries, and larger bins.
Time-poor? Consider robots with reliable mapping.
On a budget or in small flats? Lightweight sticks or handheld vacuum deals shine.
What is the best cordless vacuum cleaner?
“Best” depends on the floor type, pets, and runtime needs.
Expect strong cordless vacuum deals on Shark and Dyson products during the event, as well as value contenders that undercut the competition on bundles and spare batteries.
Track attachments you’ll actually use—crevice, mini-motorised pet tools, soft rollers—so you’re comparing like-for-like across retailers.
Entry-level sticks and compact cylinders often dip further during sales events like Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day, and even premium brands occasionally offer sharp bundle promotions.
Set alerts, check warranty terms on refurbished items, and be flexible with colour to score the best price.
Which is the best robot vacuum cleaner to buy?
For most busy homes, I’d recommend the iRobot Roomba i5+: self-emptying, smart mapping technology, combined vacuuming and mopping capabilities, easy setup, and a stylish design.
After a cheaper workhorse? The Eufy Robovac G30 delivers powerful suction, whisper-quiet operation, and impressive battery stamina.
Prioritise LiDAR mapping, auto-empty docks, and low profiles if you’ve got pet hair, high-traffic hallways and sofa legs to dodge.
Watch for Black Friday bundles with spare brushes and filters—often the smarter buy than chasing headline suction numbers.
Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a vacuum?
If you can wait, it’s worth it: Black Friday vacuum deals are typically the best of the year, particularly for brands like Dyson and Shark.
However, the best prices can sometimes appear early, as early as late October.
If you spot a deal that reaches a genuine low, don’t hesitate to take advantage of it.
Also, keep an eye on Black Friday robot vacuum deals and handheld vacuum deals, and set alerts so you don’t miss out on any offerings.
Is it better to buy a vacuum cleaner on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
If you want the best shot at a flagship Dyson/Shark at a record price, Black Friday typically wins on big‑ticket discounts and stock breadth across retailers.
Cyber Monday is no afterthought: online‑only promos often appear, and some deals deepen—particularly on smart/robot vacs and bundles.
My rule: set a target price, track early, and buy the moment it hits during Black Friday—don’t wait and risk sellouts.
If it doesn’t drop, watch Cyber Monday for a second swing.

A MUM has been praised after sharing the genius hack she swears by to give her kids a toy room without making her house look messy.
As a home schooling mum, Paige has devoted a whole room in her abode to her kids’ learning – which also contains some toys.

But as any parent knows, toys eventually make their way into different rooms, and can end up making the house look untidy.
So Paige came up with a clever idea to let her kids play in the lounge – one of the main family areas of the home – without it turning into another toy room.
In a video on her TikTok page, the mum-of-three showed the kitchen, toy room and lounge, all of which looked perfectly neat and tidy.
She then took the camera to behind the sofa, where she had set aside a large area for toys to go.

“Having a little mini toy room behind the couch was the best decision!” she wrote over the top of the video.
Thanks to the positioning of the sofa, the area is entirely invisible until you’re right on top of it.
And it also means that Paige doesn’t have to deal with tidying it up until she wants to.
“Really has help the house look a bit cleaner haha!” she added in the video caption.
People were quick to praise Paige in the comments section for the clever hack.
“This is so smart!” one wrote.
Stacey Solomon opens up about ‘very emotional’ morning but says tidying her house ‘cheered me up no end’
To which Paige replied: “It really works well!”
“So cute! Great idea!” another added.
“Your house is literally a dream – it’s beautiful,” a third gushed.
“Aww thank you!” Paige responded.
“We love it so much but we are growing and will need more room eventually.
“This space is huge, but tiny rooms is the down fall!”
How to baby-proof your house
IF you’ve got a baby coming very soon, here’s our top tips on how to get your home ready for their arrival…
Secure Furniture and Appliances: Use brackets or straps to anchor heavy furniture and TVs to the wall. Ensure that large appliances like fridges and ovens are stable and cannot tip over.
Install Safety Gates: Place gates at the top and bottom of stairs. Use gates to block off rooms that are not baby-proofed.
Cover Electrical Outlets: Use outlet covers or plates to prevent little fingers from poking into sockets. Ensure that electrical cords are out of reach or secured.
Lock Cabinets and Drawers: Install child-proof locks on cabinets and drawers, especially in the kitchen and bathroom. Store hazardous substances, sharp objects, and small items that can be swallowed out of reach.
Use Corner and Edge Protectors: Attach soft corner and edge protectors to furniture with sharp edges. Consider using them on low tables, countertops, and fireplace hearths.
Secure Windows and Doors: Install window guards or locks to prevent windows from opening more than a few inches. Use door knob covers and door stoppers to prevent pinched fingers.
Maintain a Safe Sleep Environment: Use a firm mattress and avoid placing pillows, blankets, or stuffed animals in the cot. Ensure the cot meets current safety standards.
Keep Small Items Out of Reach: Regularly check the floor for small objects that could be choking hazards. Be mindful of items like coins, buttons, and small toys.
Adjust Water Heater Temperature: Set your water heater to a maximum of 49°C (120°F) to prevent scalding. Always test bath water temperature before placing your baby in.
Use Baby Monitors: Place baby monitors in the nursery to keep an eye on your little one. Ensure the monitor cords are out of reach to avoid strangulation hazards.
By taking these steps, you can create a safer environment for your baby.
“With all that wood accenting going on in there you could easily turn this into a hobbit house,” someone else pointed out.
Paige’s family home is located in Northern California, and is nestled within 10 acres of woodland.
She lives there with her other half and their three children – River Wildfox, Cedar Moon and Sequoia Rain.
As long as the compact gadget worked well enough, I thought it had potential to be a game-changing cleaning hack.

Mini Countertop Vacuum, £9.99 from Lakeland
On first glance, the Lakeland vacuum is small and sleek. It’s also super easy to use, with a single setting — you press the button to fire it into action, and then you simply move it across any surface to suck up the crumbs.
Technically, that’s something you could do with a normal cordless vacuum cleaner, but, being honest, that feels like too much effort.
Plus, this feels more hygienic, as you can restrict its use to just surfaces and not floors.
Lakeland Mini Countertop Vacuum: Quickfire Q&A
How much is it? It costs just £9.99, making it an absolute bargain.
Who’s it best for? It’s great for families who eat most of their meals at home, and people who have to clean up after kids (or messy adults, for that matter).
What we loved: The affordable price, the compact design and the fact that it’s cordless — it’s brilliantly convenient.
What we didn’t: It’s only really useful for dry, crumbly foods like toast crumbs — you wouldn’t want to use it on anything wet or slimy.

Performance
I would usually grab a cloth or a piece of kitchen towel to wipe down the dining table after a meal, but keeping the vacuum nearby presents a much more convenient alternative.
It’s got bristles underneath, which help guide crumbs to underneath the vacuum.
I found the best method was to use it to sweep the crumbs into a corner (while switched off) before turning it on, and then sucking them up.
The brushes underneath help collect the crumbs.Credit: Supplied
Mini Countertop Vacuum, £9.99 from Lakeland
Another handy use for the Mini Countertop Vacuum is in the kitchen, when you’re preparing food and creating a mess — I found it particularly useful to have on hand when making toast.
The suction isn’t going to rival a normal vacuum, but it’s easily powerful enough for crumbs, so it definitely does what it claims to — and at £9.99, you’ve got to class that as a win.
I’d recommend it for those quick clean-ups in between proper household cleans.
If you have kids, I can only imagine how much use you’d get out of it — especially since the description says it’ll even suck up glitter!
If you have kids, I can only imagine how much use you’d get out of it — especially since the description says it’ll even suck up glitter!
I might live in an adult-only household, but as a fiend for messy help-yourself meals, I’ve found myself reaching for the countertop vacuum often.
If you work in an office, the device would be useful to keep in a drawer for when you need to do a swift cleanup of your workspace.
It’s not too noisy (although you’re only likely to use it for a few seconds anyway), and it’s also cordless, charging up via a USB cable.
The small and lightweight design means you could even take it away with you if you’re staying somewhere self-catered.
The only thing it won’t help with is wet spills, so drips and splashes from drinks or sauces will still need to be wiped up.

I also recently tested out one of the most compact cooking devices money can buy, in my Ninja Crispi air fryer review.
The verdict: is the Lakeland Countertop vacuum worth buying?
Lakeland’s Countertop Vacuum is ideal for households with children, anyone who hosts dinner parties, or if you’re like me and need a quick and easy way to keep your workspace clean.
For just a tenner, it’s a total bargain and a must-have for anyone who wants a convenient way to banish crumbs for good.

And it seems she’s hoping that she’s passed on this love to her eldest boys – Ronnie, five, and Lennie, three.
As she took to her Instagram page this week to share a Reel which showed the pair helping her out cleaning the house.
In addition to dusting and tidying, the boys were seen changing the tablecloth in the kitchen and wiping the surfaces.
They even appeared to have inherited her home tweaks, such as her famous pillow “chop” – hitting the middle of cushions and pillows to give them a distinctive look – as Ronnie was seen copying his mum.

Alongside the video, Mrs Hinch wrote: “Here’s to raising boys who know that teamwork starts at home.
“It’s not about the mess, it’s about the message, learning that we’re a team, and everyone’s part matters.
“I would love for my boys to grow up knowing the basics of how to manage a home, not just for themselves, but so the heavy load doesn’t always fall on one partner’s shoulders.”
And while the majority of people praised Mrs Hinch for the Reel, there were also a few negative comments.
“Poor kids making them clean,” one wrote.
“Pleased you ain’t my mum. School holidays are for a reason!”

Mrs Hinch then responded in a post on her Instagram Story, as she wrote: “I don’t make my children clean the house everyday AT ALL In fact, they want to help!
“It’s not even about the cleaning, or the mess.
“It’s about teamwork, helping each other, learning little life skills and even making it fun if I can.”
She thanked those who had left kind comments, and concluded: “And to those who feel the need to be so negative, honestly, let mums parent their kids without judgement. Please!”
And Sophie’s post was backed by others in the comments, with one writing: “I can’t believe people had a go at you over this!
“Jeez people wanna lighten up!!”
Mrs Hinch’s whopping £4.4million fortune

“I hadn’t seen this reel until I saw the negative comment you posted in your story, the boys seem to be having so much fun,” another added.
“I don’t see the harm in letting them help, you and Jamie are raising the boys amazingly, they are learning responsibility in a fun way.”
“This is so beautiful!” a third said.
“How anyone has found anything negative in it whatsoever I’ll never know!”
“Can’t believe some people felt the need to leave nasty comments on this – saddos,” someone else sighed.
There were also those who flooded the comments with praise for Mrs Hinch for getting her boys started so early on.

Hard floors like wood and laminate may be slightly easier to clean than carpet, but it can still take effort to tackle stuck-on food and dirt.

You can also keep spiders out the house by using a simple kitchen staple.
Earlier this year, The Sun revealed that white vinegar can often do the job.
Pest control expert Doug O’Connor explained that “spiders hate vinegar.”
He added: “The smell is overwhelming to them, and it causes irritation on contact.
“It is one of the simplest and most effective ways to deter them.”
You can pick up a bottle for as little as 35p from Sainsbury’s, though there is a good chance you will already have some sitting in your cupboard.
Peppermint oil is also a great way to keep critters out.
Adeel Ul-Haq, a sleep expert from Divan Beds, explained: “Peppermint oil is a great way to keep spiders away for cheap, and not only does it leave your home smelling amazing, but spiders hate it.
“The strong smell overwhelms the spiders and encourages them to go elsewhere.”
Keep pests out all summer
IF you want to ensure that your home is pest free this summer, here’s what you need to know.
Hornets and wasps – hate the smell of peppermint oil so spraying this liberally around your patio or balcony can help to keep them at bay.
Moths – acidic household white vinegar is effective for deterring moths. Soak some kitchen roll in vinegar and leave it in your wardrobe as a deterrent.
Flying ants – herbs and spices, such as cinnamon, mint, chilli pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cloves, or garlic act as deterrents.
Mosquitoes – plants, herbs and essential oil fragrances can help deter mozzies inside and out. Try eucalyptus, lavender and lemongrass.

A vacuum cleaner is a household essential, and Amazon has a huge 52% saving on a popular model.
The Uninell Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has been reduced from £229.99 to £109.

The vacuum cleaner is great for hard-to-reach areas.
Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, £109 (was £229.99)
If you’re not keen on spending hundreds on the latest premium vacuum cleaner, you’re not alone.
Shoppers are flocking to Amazon to find the latest and greatest discounts, and there’s one stand-out cleaning deal right now.
The Uninell Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is now £109, and it has lots of handy features that make it versatile for cleaning all different surfaces.
Firstly, it’s cordless, which makes it easier to clean awkward areas, like the stairs or corners that aren’t within reach of a plug socket.
The cordless battery lasts up to an hour, and charges using a wall-mounted charger.
The handy design also allows you to transform it into a handheld vacuum cleaner, which is ideal for cleaning the car and tackling dirt and debris under sofa cushions and on other soft furniture.
Parents will know that the school holidays equal constant crumbs and mess, and this versatile vacuum is great for quick clean-ups.
There’s a ‘barefloor’ mode for hard flooring, a carpet mode, and a turbo mode for extra-powerful cleans and tackling ground-in dirt and hair.
The Amazon vacuum cleaner has a high 4.8 star rating, with hundreds of shoppers leaving their feedback.
One shopper said: ‘’Honestly would never go back to buying the likes of Miele, Dyson and Shark, of which I have owned over the years.’’
Another shopper commented: ‘’It’s lightweight, powerful, and glides around corners easily, picking up all my dog’s hair effortlessly.’’
‘’Great value for money. Can’t believe how cheap it was for what I got!’’
While a third shopper praised the ‘’Excellent vacuum cleaner’’, calling it ‘’easy to use, lightweight, good attachments, battery lasts long enough to clean medium sized house.’’
They also went on to say: ‘’Can’t differentiate much between this and the much pricier Dyson equivalent.’’
In comparison, Dyson’s cheapest vacuum online right now is £249.99, and that’s the reduced price – some cost as much as £799.

THE cordless vacuum revolution is in full swing, and Shark’s IZ202UKT has swaggered onto the scene promising to banish dust bunnies and pet hair with ease and style.

How I tested
Shark IZ202UKT Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, £279.99 from Amazon
I tested the Shark cordless vacuum out for two months on long- and short-pile carpets and three types of hard floors: laminate, vinyl and engineered wood.
During the testing period, I used each of the attachments and tested the battery by seeing how long it took to run down from a full charge using the normal power (39 minutes) and boost functions (seven and a half minutes).
I used it as my only vacuum during this period to see how well it fares in everyday life, including on stairs and in my car.
I took into consideration the design, ease of use and its innovative functions like the flexology, anti-hair wrap technology and LED headlights.
Shark IZ202UKT review: Quickfire Q&A
How much is the Shark IZ202UKT? The Shark IZ202UKT cordless vacuum cleaner’s RRP is £350. However, you can often find it for less.
Who’s it best for? This is a great option for those with pets, anyone with a mixture of hard and soft flooring and anyone looking for a powerful cordless vacuum with a long battery life.
What I loved: The Shark has a large dustbin and 40-minute battery life, giving me plenty of time to thoroughly vacuum my whole house. I also love its sleek design, headlight that illuminates missed dirt, how easy it is to use and how quiet it is on hard floor mode.
What I didn’t: It’s heavier than my former vacuum (Dyson V8 Animal), and I found that my arm ached after vacuuming for a while. I also noticed that the main attachment didn’t get as tightly into corners as the Dyson’s, and I had to switch to the crevice tool.
Shark IZ202UKT review: The Nitty Gritty
First impressions
Everything that came in the box
Shark IZ202UKT Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, £279.99 from Amazon
Pulling the Shark IZ202UKT out of its box, I could immediately tell it was a solid, well-constructed bit of kit.
It came with four attachments (main anti-hair wrap, upholstery, pet and crevice tools), and assembling the vacuum was a breeze, a testament to Shark’s genuinely logical design.
Everything clicked satisfyingly into place, no head-scratching required.
After charging the vacuum, it took seconds to assemble it before I was ready to tackle the dust bunnies that had taken up residence on my floors.
Does it deliver?
The Shark cordless vacuum folds over for compact storage
Shark IZ202UKT Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, £279.99 from Amazon
One of the first things I noticed about the Shark is how quiet it is in hard floor mode.
It glides effortlessly across laminate, vinyl and wood, sucking up everything from fine dust to larger debris without a fuss.
I could definitely hear and feel the difference in the power when I switched to carpet mode, and then hear it level up again when I squeezed the trigger for max power.
The max power setting is really effective at sucking up those stubborn bits of fluff and pet hair ingrained in the carpet.
Battery life
The Achilles’ heel of many cordless vacuums is battery life. I’ve had vacuums in the past that would conk out halfway through my vacuuming session, leaving me with a half-clean house.
This is not an issue I experienced with the Shark IZ202UKT.
I used it in multiple rooms, switching between hard floor and carpet modes, and I managed to vacuum the entire house with battery still left over.
Shark claims up to 40 minutes of run time, and during my tests, it consistently delivered between 37-40 minutes, on standard power settings.
When I tested it using Max power only, it lasted seven and a half minutes, which I think is relatively impressive.
If used on the standard settings with a few bursts of max power when needed, I’m optimistic most people will be able to tackle a substantial portion of their home, if not the whole thing, without needing to pause for a recharge.
If you have a larger home, you could opt to purchase a spare battery to swap out when needed.
Dustbin capacity, Flexology wand and LED lights
Another unsung hero of the IZ202UKT is its nice big bin — I was able to vacuum most of the house before needing to empty it.
This might sound like a small thing, but anyone whose vacuum forces them to constantly empty a tiny dustbin will appreciate the sheer convenience of this.
The bin is also quick, easy and mess-free to empty.
Shark has designed something called the Flexology wand, which is a very handy feature for multiple reasons.
With a simple press of a button, the wand bends in half, making it super easy to vacuum under furniture, beds, and sofas without having to contort yourself or move heavy items.
It’s also ideal for compact storage as it more than halves the height of the vacuum, making it easy to tuck into cupboards.
Another feature I really liked, and one you likely won’t realise you need until you have it, is the integrated LED lights.
They illuminate dust, crumbs, and pet hair that you would otherwise completely miss, especially under furniture, in dimly lit corners, or even just in a room with poor natural light.
In terms of cons, there are two things I noticed which are worth bearing in mind.
The cordless vacuum cleaner weighs 5.16kg, which may not sound like a lot, but when you’re vacuuming for 40 minutes straight, you’ll likely feel your arm start to ache.
I was especially aware of the added weight, as my former vacuum (Dyson V8 Animal) weighs less than half the Shark, at 2.54kg.
The other downside is its agility.
The main attachment is quite large, and I noticed that it struggles to get right into the corners, occasionally leaving bits of fluff behind.
Again, I found this especially noticeable compared to the Dyson Animal V8 I was using previously, which is a lot slimmer and more nimble.
It was easily solved by switching to the crevice tool, but it caused a slight inconvenience.
How much is the Shark IZ202UKT vacuum cleaner?
The Shark IZ202UKT Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner retails in the UK for £350; however, it’s often on sale and has been spotted for as low as £189.

You can find the Shark IZ202UKT at a variety of retailers across the UK, both online and in physical stores, including:
Alternatives
There are a few strong contenders in the cordless stick vacuum market that offer similar features to the Shark model.
Dyson V8 Absolute: Although an older model, the Dyson V8 Absolute is often available at a more affordable price point than newer Dysons, and it still offers excellent suction and the premium Dyson build quality.
It’s lighter than the Shark IZ202UKT, which might appeal if arm ache is a concern. However, it lacks the Flexology wand and automatic hair detangling of the Shark.
It has a lot of the same features with a slightly longer run time than the IZ202UKT (50 mins), but is slightly heavier at 5.68kg (vs 5.13kg).
It can be found for around the same price point (£190-280), too.
Dyson V12 Detect: For a bit more money, you could get the Dyson V12 Detect, which has 60 minutes of battery life, hair detangling, and a laser which illuminates invisible dust.
It’s a lot lighter than the Shark but does have a smaller bin.
The RRP is £499.99, but it’s currently on sale for £380. Read our Dyson V15 Detect review here.
Shark IZ202UKT Review: The Verdict
AFTER putting the Shark IZ202UKT through its paces, I believe it’s a formidable contender in the cordless vacuum market.
It offers powerful suction, impressive battery life, and a range of genuinely useful features that make cleaning feel less like a chore.
The flexology technology makes cleaning under furniture a breeze and provides a compact storage solution.
The LED headlights are ideal for spotting hidden dirt, and the anti-hair wrap technology saves you from untangling hair from the brush roll.
Yes, it is a bit heavy and may not be the most agile in tight corners, but for everyday cleaning, tackling pet hair and providing a powerful cordless experience, the IZ202UKT delivers.

When’s the best time to shop at Aldi?
WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.
For reduced items – when shops open
Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.
A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”
That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.
Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.
For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays
Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.
New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.
For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.
Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible
Sharing a picture of fabric cleaning wipes, one impressed poster wrote: “These!!!! Currently £1.25 a pack in M&S. They are a life saver!”
The M&S customer went on to detail her experience with the Stain Removing Wipes.
“I’ve used on several tops which have had the dreaded spaghetti bolognase sauce on,” the Facebook user revealed.
She summed up the results by saying she would “highly recommend” the item to other parents.
Other cleaning fans added their thoughts on the wipes in the comments section.
“And they smell lush,” wrote one impressed person.
“I’ve seen loads of good reviews about them,” agreed another Facebook user.
“These wipes are a life changer for holidays, used them for a couple of years, best stain wipes ever,” said a third cleaning fan.
Mrs Hinch loves it but it’s the most toxic cleaning product ever… I’ve seen it do so much damage & I’m a pro cleaner
“I wouldn’t be without these, they are amazing!” commented another buyer.
Another homeowner pointed out that the wipes are “great on carpets and car seats too”.

Say goodbye to ironing
Don’t have time to smooth out the wrinkles of a shirt with an iron? Lenor‘s Crease Releaser makes wrinkles vanish – simply hang up creased items, give them a quick spritz and smooth against a hard surface.
Teabags for trainers
When trainers smell a little squiffy, pop a used (and still moist) tea bag inside and leave for about an hour. The tannins will seep into the sole of the shoe to fight nasty-smelling odours.
Remove limescale without scrubbing
When bathroom taps start looking a little grimy with limescale, slice a lemon in half and sprinkle on baking soda. Rub the fruit over the taps and with a gentle clean they will come up sparkling. Use a toothbrush to get in all the nooks and crannies.
Streak-free mirrors and windows White vinegar is a handy secret weapon when it comes to keeping mirrors and windows streak-free. Mix one part white vinegar with four parts water in a spray bottle. Squirt then wipe with a microfibre cloth and voilà, clean glass in an instant.
Make your home smell amazing For dust-free skirting boards, pour some fabric softener onto a cloth and give them a quick wipe. It will stop dirt collecting so quickly and, as an added bonus, make your home smell amazing.
However, for larger or older stains that have alreadt set in, you will likely need something a bit more heavy duty.
So if you’re investing in these cleaning wipes, be sure to act quickly if you spot a stain.
And be warned, tougher stains such as grass may require a little more elbox grease.
BANISHING mould from your home can feel like a never-ending chore.
From constant bleaching to pricey products that don’t work, there’s loads of stuff out there, but more often than not the mould returns.

She said it’s better than anything else she’s tried to banish mould for goodCredit: Instagram
That was cleaning whizz Nicola’s experience until she discovered a product that actually works and stops mould from coming back.
Taking to Instagram, Nicole explained how the Mould Magic gel worked wonders in her new home.
“If you haven’t seen this before you need to get some, it works on so many different surfaces but I used it mainly on grout in the bathroom,” Nicola explained.
In the viral clip she showed what the bathroom looked like when she first moved in, and sure enough the walls were covered in mould.
The formula is especially easy to apply because it comes in a tube with a nozzle designed to get into those hard to reach places.
Not only that, but according to Nicola the formula is also non-drip, so you don’t have to worry about it slipping and sliding away.
After a couple of hours the product can then be wiped away, leaving your bathroom mould free.
“The mould never comes back,” the cleaning whizz added.
Unsurprisingly, fellow cleaning fans were wowed by the before and after snaps of the bathroom.
One commented on the clip: “It’s brilliant for washing machines too.”
Our home is so mouldy mushrooms and flies infest walls – it’s making us sick
“Oo, thanks I’ll be getting this,” another said.
“Omg we recently got mould in out shower and it’s right in the grout so this will be great,” a third chimed in.
Meanwhile, others wanted to know if the product would work on painted walls and Nicola revealed she’d tried Mould Magic there too and was impressed with the results.
The product can be bought online for as little as £9.95 too, so it won’t break the bank.
More mould cleaning tips and tricks
Use household items
If it’s too late, and any condensation has had a chance to flourish and turn into mould, you can start removing it for nothing.
Natalie, from Which?, said: “A few drops of washing up liquid mixed with warm water can work on smaller areas of mould on hard surfaces like walls or floors.
“Use a sponge, cloth, or brush to work the soapy solution in small circular motions over the mould.
“If you’re trying to remove particularly stubborn mould, try a 1:1 solution of white vinegar and warm water and pour it into a spray bottle to target the affected area.”
If you’ve got a bit more in your budget, you can try buying mould or mildew remover from your nearest supermarket or retailer.
You can get it as cheap as £1.20 from B&M or £2.50 from Dunelm, at the time of writing.
Call in the professionals
You can usually treat smaller patches of mould yourself, but if the problem has gotten out of hand, you might need to call someone in.
Natalie said: “If you find new mould growing quickly in other areas of your home, or the affected area becomes too large to handle, it may be time to get professional help.”
Checkatrade says it costs £25-£35 per hour or £200-£400 per room to call someone in for mould removal.
Meanwhile if you want a specialist to come and take a look to inspect for any mould, that will cost you around £50-£300.
What is mould and how to get rid of it?
Mould is more likely to grow during the winter months.
Olivia Young, Product Development Scientist at Astonish revealed exactly why this is.
“Unfortunately, mould is a common problem many people face during winter. It thrives in conditions that are warm and damp, so your bathrooms are likely to be the most affected place.
“That said, during the colder months most rooms in your home could be vulnerable to mould growing.
“This occurs primarily from condensation that builds up on your windows when you’ve got your radiators on.
“If you think about it, when windows and doors are closed, there’s not much chance for the air to circulate and the moisture to make a swift exit.
“This build up is what can cause dreaded mould to make an appearance, especially in bathrooms, as it creates that warm and wet environment that is a breeding ground for mould.
“If left untreated, not only is it unsightly but it can also pose a serious risk to your health, so it’s really important you treat it.
“The key to tackle mould is to act fast.
“Try to come into as little contact with it as you can. So, grab your gloves, tie up your hair and get to work to remove any signs of mould as soon as you notice them.
“To keep mould at bay, there are some simple solutions you can introduce throughout home.
“The first is keep it ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months try to leave your bathroom window open for at least 10/15 minutes post shower or bath. This will get rid of any excess moisture quickly preventing mould gathering.
“If you’re having a repeat problem with mould in one particular area, it might be because the humidity levels are too high. You can get a dehumidifier that will help keep the levels low and reduce the risk of mould returning.
“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mould is the quicker you can treat it, the better. If you leave it, it will only get worse so never ignore it!
“To successfully get rid of mould every time, I recommend opting for the UK’s No 1 Mould & Mildew Remover, that effectively removes mould and mildew stains almost instantly, with no scrubbing necessary.”
According to Michael Bogoyavlenskiy, CEO of Cleaning Express, keeping your bins out of direct sunlight can help prevent foul smells.
And while it’s important to empty your bin every couple of days and make sure to dispose of anything “particularly pungent”, there’s also a variety of cleaning hacks that can banish grim smells.
On a mission to ensure my recycling bin smells fresh this season, I, Abby Wilson, tested three simple hacks.
While the cheapest hack will cost you just 49p, your bin will be so clean you’ll be able to see your reflection thanks to a 55p trick.
Wash this
According to those at Busy Bins, a simple mixture of washing-up liquid and warm water will do the trick to banish seriously bad stenches from your bin.
8
Washing-up liquid got rid of strong smells, but needed a bit of elbow greaseCredit: Getty
So, I got my Marigolds on and dived headfirst into the bin – and yes, it was as grim as you could imagine.
In between holding back gags and wiping my watering eyes, I scrubbed the interior of the recycling bin with the purse-friendly two-ingredient solution.
I then gave the bin a quick rinse with a hose and I have to say, it looked pretty good.
Top 6 spring cleaning hacks
Whilst it wasn’t great at getting rid of the tough stains and did require quite a bit of elbow grease (far more than I’d have hoped), it definitely cut through the strong smells.
It looked pretty good too and thanks to this cheap trick, your bins are sure to shine in no time.
While I used proper Fairy Liquid, if you’re on a budget and are looking to pocket pennies where possible, you’ll be thrilled to know that you can nab cheaper dish soap from just 49p from Savers.

Powerful paste
After a couple of weeks, it appeared that my bin had gone back to its old ways and was still looking a bit grim.
8
The Pink Stuff made a proper messCredit: www.bmstores.co.uk
While this isn’t something I’ve heard many experts talk about when it comes to bin cleaning, I figured the multi-purpose paste which has been hailed as a “miracle” product that is said to be “tough on stains”, could do the trick.
But after literally five seconds of scrubbing, I was already starting to regret my decision.
Yes, this thick paste is super versatile, but it made a total mess on my bin.
The household items you’re not cleaning often enough
IF you want to ensure your home is squeaky clean, you’ll need to listen up. Below are the household items you’re forgetting to clean, and how to get them sparkling…
Remote Controls: Wipe with a disinfectant cloth. Use a cotton bud for crevices.
Light Switches: Wipe with a disinfectant wipe. Use a mild soap solution for tough stains.
Door Handles: Clean with an antibacterial spray. Wipe down regularly.
Underneath and Behind Appliances: Vacuum or sweep regularly. Mop with a suitable cleaner.
Shower Curtains and Liners: Wash in the washing machine. Use a bleach solution for stubborn mildew.
Kitchen Sponges and Dishcloths: Microwave damp sponges for one minute. Wash dishcloths in the washing machine.
Computer Keyboards and Mice: Use compressed air to remove debris. Wipe with a disinfectant wipe.
It was much more hassle than it was worth and there was far too much faff involved with getting rid of the white residue from my bin.
While I love using this product throughout my home, on my grubby oven and kitchen sink, I’m definitely not sold on using it to clean my bin.
Also, the scent is very faint, so it didn’t work as well as I’d hoped to keep my bin smelling fresh.
Rating: 2/5
Seriously strong
Disappointed with the mess The Pink Stuff made, not only on my bin but all over me too, I reached for a household hero I knew wouldn’t let me down.
8
Bleach took the top spot on this cleaning testCredit: Getty
Not only do I use bleach on my loos, but I imagined it would work well on my bin too.
According to the Wheelie Bin Cleaning Service, using bleach, which you can buy for just 55p from Tesco, is a great way to effectively disinfect a bin.
By bin was left so clean I could even see my reflection in it
Abby Wilson
The pros explained that bleach is a “strong cleaner” that “kills many bacteria, viruses, and fungi”, whilst working to “keep bins clean and fresh.”
Not only this, but the experts also recognised that it will “break down tough stains, grease and grime in bins”, whilst also “making bins look new and clean again.”
Eager to let the powerful product do its work, I diluted some bleach with water and threw the solution over the inside and outside of my recycling bin.
I then grabbed a long brush to spread the solution and left it to work for a few minutes.
Moments later, I thoroughly rinsed the bin to get rid of any residue, which is highly important when using bleach as it can be harmful to the environment and wildlife.
As someone who would buy a bleach scented candle if it was available, I was overjoyed with the squeaky clean scent it left behind.
Cleaning hacks for outside
IF you want to get your garden summer ready, you’ll need to check this out.
ALGAE: If your fence is covered in stubborn algae, Mrs Hinch fans swore by white vinegar to get it looking brand new.
MOSS: If moss is causing you problems, soda crystals will do just the trick.
PATIO: IF your patio slabs have seen better days, bleach could be just the thing for you.
Not only was it a cheap cleaning solution, but it definitely smelt the best out of the bunch too.
But that wasn’t all – my bin was left so clean (definitely the cleanest it has EVER looked), I could even see my reflection in it – yes, you heard that correctly.
I highly doubt I’ll be popping outside and peering at my bin to check that my make-up and hair look decent, but if you really want your bins to shine, bleach may just be the thing for you.
Although it left me very impressed, the experts recommend that bleach should not be used for routine cleaning of bins due to environmental concerns and the damage it can do to plastic over time.
I’ll definitely do this trick again, but for those eager to give it a try, make sure you switch up your cleaning methods, dilute it properly before us and always wear gloves.

Those who remember Calgon’s famous jingle — “washing machines live longer with Calgon” — know that this product is nothing short of essential for those living in hard water areas like London, the South East and East Anglia.
Hard water can cause limescale to build up in your washing machine, leading to unpleasant odours, reduced efficiency, and costly repairs.
Calgon tablets help your washing machine in four ways:
They remove limescale and other harmful hard water deposits
They soften water, protecting your washing machine and clothes
They prevent rust
They neutralise bad odours
Reviewers have highlighted how effective Calgon is at keeping their washing machines in working order.
One Amazon customer wrote: “Third time ordering. UK water is hard so it makes your drum in your [washing machine] smell, this helps a lot and it also softens the water for softer washing. Good value for money”.
Another wrote: “[I] bought a new Bosch washing machine in January 2011, have used a Calgon tab in every wash for the last 15 years and it’s never missed a beat, still going strong — brilliant price for 75 tabs, can’t be beaten anywhere.”

TANGY TREAT: Pickled red onions are easy. Finely slice the onion, pop in a jar, cover with white wine vinegar, £2 at Sainsbury’s, and add a pinch of salt and of sugar.
Put the lid on and shake, leave for 20 minutes before trying — adding more vinegar, salt or sugar as you think best.
Pop in the fridge and use on everything from tacos to sarnies.
SPICE OF LIFE: Slice up any spare chilli peppers and pop in a jar.
Then put 100ml of water in a pan and heat on the stove with a few teaspoons of sugar and one of salt, plus you could add mustard seeds or bay leaves from your spice rack. Bring to the boil then pour the liquid into the jar.
Carefully put the lid on the jar and leave to cool. Once at room temperature, store in the fridge and the chillis should keep for a few months.
CRUNCHY RELISH: Use up any mini- cucumbers or radishes to make a tasty relish.
Slice your veg and keep it crunchy by adding to a sieve with ice cubes for ten to 20 minutes before pickling.
I’ve figured out how to make the perfect fried eggs – it’s so simple, works every time and you don’t even need any oil
Make a brine following the same instructions as before, leave to cool and add to the jar with your veg.
You can also add onion, and herbs such as dill, for extra flavour.
PASS THE CARROTS: The key for great pickled carrots is to cut them up into very fine matchsticks or use a peeler to create shavings.
Follow the same brine instructions as above, but add some rice wine vinegar if you have it, as well as a dash of fish sauce.
Once cooled and refrigerated, you can use these on Asian dishes such as dumplings or stir fries.
