The closure comes ahead of a major transformation to the hotel, which sits on a Victorian country estate sprawling over 34 acres with its own chapel and small loch.
Over the coming months, the hotel will remain closed while a new 80-seat restaurant with a ‘living’ roof covered in plants is built.
As for accommodation, three bedrooms will be added and there will be a new wellness cottage too.
Back in 2023, planning permission was also granted for nine new cabins to be built in the woodland, though whether these are going ahead is unclear.
The hotel is then expected to reopen in May of this year.
The tennis player and his wife, Kim, purchased the mansion back in 2013 for a rumoured £1.8million.
Via the hotel’s Instagram account, Cromlix said: “Our team is all set to pack away the house, but we’re already counting down to 15th May when we’ll welcome you back.
“While our doors are closed, our team is still here and ready to take your bookings for spring and beyond.”
Inside the hotel, guests will find a billiards room with vaulted wooden ceilings adding to The Traitors feel of the mansion.
Guests can also request in-room spa treatments such as a back, neck and shoulder massage from £80 or a full body massage from £95.
In the grounds, visitors will be able to spot beehives, chickens, deer and red squirrels across a number of woodland trails.
In classic Murray style, the hotel of course has outdoor tennis courts where guests can have private coaching sessions.
There are a number of different rooms in the hotel including ‘Turret Suites’ – though, they aren’t as small as The Traitors turret.
Inside the rooms, visitors will find statement furniture, country house patterns and botanical features.
When it reopens in May, there will be another smaller restaurant tooCredit: InstagramAs well as three new bedrooms and a ‘wellness cottage’Credit: Not known, clear with picture desk
In total there are 10 bedrooms and five suites, and they have different views, including of the garden and woodland.
Though, if you fancy something a little more private then you can book The Laurel Gate Lodge.
Inside there is a small turret, kitchen, living room, king-size bedroom and a family bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate bath.
If you do want to bring your kids, there is a pull-out sofa bed too.
Though it isn’t cheap, as it costs from £555 to stay in the lodge.
Prices for rooms and suites in the main building vary from around £300 a night.
For wider exploring, the hotel is sat between Glasgow and Edinburgh, with both cities just an hour away.
The mansion was previously passed down generations of the Drummond family.
In that time it has even survived a fire in 1878 and then later was transformed from a house into a hotel.

NICOLE Kidman and Keith Urban face the tough task of dividing their staggering £210million property portfolio as part of their divorce settlement.
The former couple’s marriage is now officially over after the superstar pair finalised their split this week, and they’ve come to an agreement on how their collection of multi-million pound homes will be divvied up.

According to documents seen by the Daily Mail, both Nicole and Keith will retain ownership of the properties already in their possession and the rest will be split to their mutual satisfaction.
It is believed the majority of the exes’ properties were all jointly purchased following their wedding in 2006.
The most recent purchase came in 2023 in the form of a £5.7m three-bed apartment in Sydney‘s exclusive Landmark Latitude complex – their sixth property in the same high rise.
They have another £13.3m wrapped up in the complex.
Nicole and Keith first bought into the apartment block in 2009, picking up a sizeable 420-square-metre pad overlooking the city’s famous harbour for a cool £4.45m.
A further £5.2m was splashed on a larger neighbouring apartment when that became available in 2012.
The couple bought into the 19th floor in 2011, paying £2m on a smaller space that Nicole used as a home office.
Variety is the spice of life, and Nicole and Keith diversified over the years, adding mansions to their portfolio.
Music mecca Nashville was first on their list.
They bought a huge 20-room home in the city back in 2008 for a seemingly reasonable £2.6million.
It was their primary home throughout their married years and a sanctuary away from bright lights.
Nicole previously said: “Keith and I are very good at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that’s very simple, quiet, and nourishing because we’ve made it like that.”
It’s likely Nicole will remain here as she has been granted the primary custody of their children.
A five-bedroom Beverly Hills bolt hole quickly followed for £3.5million, a perfect base for Hollywood queen Nicole. It has an outdoor pool with a slide and a stunning views of the city from is wrap-around terrace.
The pair also had sights set on property on the East Coast.
Their biggest purchase saw them drop a huge £10.03million on a 10th floor Manhattan duplex complete with futuristic elevator, before adding a smaller, stylishly designed apartment in trendy Tribeca to the books in 2020 for a comparatively cheap £4.2million.
One of them will now need to change their retirement plan, though.
They picked up a six-bedroom home full of character in New South Wales on a sprawling 45 hectare site in 2008 for £4.8m.
A working farm that is home to alpacas and cows, it features a guest cottage perfect for those travelling to the remote location.
There’s plenty in the way of entertainment too with an 18-metre pool and tennis court.
It would have been the perfect place to spend quiet, contemplative days outdoors when it’s time to hang up their working boots.
Meanwhile, court documents obtained by Page Six reveal that Nicole and Keith have waived all child and spousal support.
The former couple’s two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, will stay with Nicole for 306 days a year.
Keith will spend 59 days, or “every other weekend” with them, according to court documents.

Nicole and Keith, both 58, agreed to not pay child support, citing reported monthly incomes exceeding $100,000 each.
They also agreed not to pay alimony or spousal support, making each party responsible for their own legal fees.
The former couple decided that all property – including investments, bank accounts, vehicles, and personal items – will be divided by mutual agreement, and each person will keep what they already have.
It remains unclear if they had a prenuptial agreement.
Nicole waived her right to be in court on Tuesday, as she had returned from Australia with her daughters the previous day.
The settlement comes just months after Nicole filed for divorce on September 30, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
A source told the Sun at the time that Nicole and Keith had been “living separate lives” for three years prior to their split.
The insider revealed that Nicole’s back-to-back filming schedule and Keith’s world tour made it difficult for the couple to see each other.
Nicole was reportedly “blindsided” by the split after helping Keith through his struggles with alcohol addiction.

The actor’s fundraiser was kicked off yesterday morning citing the actor had given his “full permission”.
The page, called Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home reads: “Today, Mickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: the threat of eviction from his home.
“This fundraiser is being created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening.
“Mickey Rourke is an icon—but his trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one.
“It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks, and paid real costs. Fame does not protect against hardship, and talent does not guarantee stability.
“What remains is a person who deserves dignity, housing, and the chance to regain his footing.”
The statement added: “The goal is simple: to give Mickey stability and peace of mind during an extremely stressful time—so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet.”
The page is being run by his friend Liya-Joelle Jones who told the Hollywood reporter: “Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help.”
The actor — born Philip Rourke Jr. — began renting the three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home on March 30 under a lease of $5,200 per month.
The lawsuit involving his possible eviction states the rent was raised to $7,000 per month starting in his second month of occupancy.
Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail and filed in LA’s Superior Court showed the actor was served a three-day notice on December 18.
Mickey was ordered to pay overdue rent or vacate the property.

According to the complaint filed by landlord Eric T. Goldie, Mikey owed $59,100 at the time.
When a process server attempted to deliver the notice, the actor was not home, so the document was posted outside the residence.
The property carries historic significance in Los Angeles.
Built in 1926, the house was occupied in the 1940s by legendary crime novelist Raymond Chandler, according to the Los Angeles Times.
It sits in the Beverly Grove neighborhood, just south of West Hollywood and a few blocks from The Grove shopping center and the adjacent Farmers Market.
REMOVED FROM CELEB BIG BROTHER
The lawsuit marks another blow for the star, who has had a tumultuous twelve months.
At the time ITV issued a statement and said: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”

AMERICAN stars Beyoncé and Jay-Z are set to use a “rich person” planning loophole to build a huge rural estate in the UK.
The couple are said to have bought a 58-acre plot in the Cotswolds for their mansion.

On the land is a derelict shack near an algae-filled lake.
Development is allowed under a special exemption clause in the Government’s National Planning Policy Framework. It gives permission for new homes in rural locations where planning would typically be refused.
To qualify the design must be of “exceptional quality . . . truly outstanding, reflecting the highest standards in architecture”.
It has been dubbed the “rich person clause” because of the millions of pounds required to override regular restrictions.
Planning permission for the development in Oxfordshire was granted in 2021 but work never started.
The plot was later marketed for £7.5million with the permission attached and has been sold — with Texas Hold ’Em singer Beyoncé, 44, and 99 Problems rapper Jay-Z, 56, believed to be the purchasers.
The listing stated the property is “totally unique”, adding “The site for the new house is at the head of a long drive that meanders through beautiful countryside to a magical woodland lake.
“The start of the drive is on the edge of a sought-after village and is within striking distance of Soho Farmhouse.
“Permission has been granted to create a large contemporary dwelling that part-cantilevers over its own lake, has incredible room volumes throughout, will be exceptionally light and have stunning views over the countryside.
“The position and the permission are unrivalled.”
Beyoncé, Jay-Z and their children live in California but have made several trips to the area.
But locals have concerns about an influx of A-listers. One 71-year-old, who has lived there for more than 60 years, said: “My grandson will think this is wonderful that they are coming here. I think it will change the village.”

This isn’t only because it boasts six bedrooms, scenic views and the perfect step away to disconnect from the hubbub of busy, daily life.
It just so happens to be owned by a famous TV star.
Comedian, actor and television presenter Griff Rhys Jones took ownership of the now-beautiful cottage when it was in a rather derelict state.
It was once part of a collection of stone properties that collectively formed a working Pembrokeshire farm.
But now Bwthyn Trehilyn is enjoying a new lease of life as a holiday rental, thanks to becoming the fifth property renovated by Griff.
Under the Thatch, a company who curate collections of the most refined holiday homes in Wales, announced Bwthyn Trehilyn as the top-selling accommodation for 2025.
Visitors adored the charm of the building, as well as its thoughtfully updated interiors including its adjoining servants’ wing, a former mill, and a granary.
Interior designers did their best to keep some of the interior’s original character, incorporating vintage furniture relevant to the period and restoring wooden ceiling beams.
Though one of the main sells for travellers was its location, being only a short walk away from the Abermawr beach.
The beach features a private lake, ideal for watching a stunning rural sunset melt into the water or an evening of fishing.
It only took a stroll through the area back in 2004 for Griff to decide he just had to snap up the cottage and return it to its former beauty.
