I’m A Celebrity star Alex Scott opens up about being taken to the medical tent during a wide-ranging interview with the Mirror after she left the jungle

TV presenter Alex Scott was forced to go to the medical tent in scenes not aired by ITV. She says that she was left “panicking” after a tic burrowed into her shoulder – and Kelly Brook demanded she sought help,

She said: “I was sitting next to Martin after carrying the logs and I felt my shoulder, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s a big spot that’s come up.’ I asked him to have a look, then Kelly jumps up and says, ‘It’s a tick.’ I was panicking as she was shouting that I needed to get to medical. I knew about ticks and leeches, but I always thought it wouldn’t happen to me. They got it off but no one else has had one.”

She also revealed that Ginge was affected by leeches too in the wet conditions. Alex opened up to the Mirror as part of a wide-ranging interview. In it she told how her heart sank when she realised Jess Glynne wasn’t waiting for her when she left. The former England star already knew there was a chance that her popstar partner wouldn’t be waiting.

Before she even flew to Australia, Jess’s mum had suffered a stroke, and Alex agonised over whether to pull out of the show. In the end, it was Jess who told her she had to go. “It’s been a tough time for us and obviously her family, and it was a tough decision to come into the jungle, but then Jess never wanted me to step away from not doing it,”

Alex said. “I knew there was always a possibility of her not being across the bridge, if her mum hadn’t got better, or if things had been getting worse, which they have been. But it was a big decision for me to not pass this opportunity, and Jess was the one that pushed me to be here.”

Hours after Alex left the jungle, Jess posted on social media as to why she wasn’t there to greet her. In an emotional statement, she told how over the last few weeks her mother had “suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery.” She added: “It’s been a really serious, life-altering time for my family, and I’ve had to stay close to home. Alex would always want me to be where l’m needed most. I can’t wait to have her back by my side.”

Asked if she considered pulling out of the show, Alex said: “Oh, yeah, absolutely, 100 percent. But Jess was the one that wanted me to do this, so that’s why I wanted to go in and still make her proud.”

Alex also opened up about being embroiled in one of the camp’s biggest talking points: her salt smuggling operation. The camp had a star taken away after she was spotted sneaking seasoning on crocodile feet.

“I felt like such a naughty schoolgirl, like I should have been put in detention or something,” she laughs. “We had stopped at a service station, and they just had all these little sachets of salt and pepper. I was staring at them for ages, like, ‘Shall I? No… they’ll frisk me.’ But I put them down my socks and didn’t get checked.” And she reveals that a string of other campmates knew about her secret contraband stash. “Jack knew about it, Ginge saw me one night… he just kept giving me the eye. Shona knew about it from early days,” she admits.

As for who she thinks will be crowned this year, Alex says it’s likely to come down to the fan favourites. “Personally, I think, from the public and how the trials have been going, it’s going to be Ginge or Aitch between those two. Because of their fan base and how they’ve come across. I’d love for Shona to win, that would be a beautiful story. But I think it’ll be between one of the boys.”

During her time on the programme, the football broadcaster spoke openly about their relationship. When asked by campmate Ruby Wax about whether she’d tie the knot with Glynne, Scott replied: “I will get married to her, just waiting for her to ask, Rubes!

Speaking after her eviction, the former footballer also opened up about sneaking banned salt into camp, which she sprinkled onto dinner. Alex continued: “I just grabbed a load of salt and I put them in my sock. My campmates were in on it. And now everyday they wish they had salt.”

She also backed Shona McGarty to win. She said: “It will change her and give the confidence to be brilliant at life.” Millions are expected to have voted – mainly led by fans of popular duo Angry Ginge and Aitch.

The insider added: “It’s been unprecedented…and one of the reasons why people have had issues with the app.”

It comes as weather in camp has hit 30 degrees over the last few days – which has come as a relief after they were battered by storms earlier this week. This is a relief to the celebs as the damp conditions attract leeches, and an influx of biting insects. The insider said: “All the celebs were complaining about being bitten in the last few days…there were very uncomfortable conditions.”

CELEBRITY psychic Sally Morgan has threatened a rival with legal action — for using the stage name Psychic Sal.

The TV medium’s lawyers have warned Sally Cudmore to stop using the title or face court action.

They claim Sally, 74, dubbed Britain’s best-loved psychic, has trademarked Psychic Sally, Psychic Sal and Sally Psychic.

But mum-of-three Sally, 54, told The Sun last night: “To be honest, I didn’t see this coming.

“My name is Sally. It has been since birth. I didn’t borrow it, steal it, trademark it, or contact Sally Morgan for permission.”

She said her family had been doing readings for four generations and jokingly blamed her mum for her name, saying if she had foreseen it “perhaps she would have chosen Janet”.

For years, fans of ITV’s I’m A Celeb have speculated about the ‘astronomical’ fees commanded by the stars who brave the Australian bush. But according to former campmate GK Barry, also known as Grace Keeling, the reality of the pay packet is far less glamorous than the headlines suggest.

The social media sensation, who won over the nation during her stint in the jungle last year, has hit out at reports claiming she walked away with a massive fortune, branding the rumours “a load of s***.” Amidst the trials and tribulations of camp life, reports circulated that Grace had secured a fee of £150,000 for her appearance. However, the podcast host insists that figures reported in the press are vastly inflated.

“The Daily Mail like to release what we’re all being paid for it, it’s a load of s***,” she said in a TikTok video. To illustrate just how wide of the mark the rumours were, she joked that a fee of that magnitude would have fundamentally changed her behaviour in the trials.

“They said I got £150,000,” she said. “If I got paid 150 [thousand] Great British pounds to go in that jungle, I wouldn’t have even screamed once during a trial. They always overdo it, we don’t get paid that much.”

Beyond the pay dispute, Grace was keen to dispel the long-standing conspiracy theory that the camp is a sound stage or that celebrities retreat to luxury hotels once the cameras stop rolling. She described the living conditions as genuinely miserable, particularly when the weather turns.

“The camp is covered but it’s covered by a flimsy bit of material that opens up and shuts so when it rains, you still get rained on,” she revealed. “Our camp got so flooded last year, everything was wet, our sleeping bags, the fire kept going out…”

She added: “Everyone thinks the jungle isn’t a real jungle, but the place is giving jungle. There are animals, you could not find your way through there easily, and we do stay there, we do sleep there… We don’t go off to the hotel at night, I wish we did.”

While they don’t get hotels, the celebrities do get one small mercy: they aren’t allowed to poison themselves. Grace revealed a behind-the-scenes secret about how the campmates manage to cook obscure jungle rations like eel without making themselves ill.

It involves a producer known as the “Voice of God” who speaks over a tannoy system.

“You cook it until you think it’s done,” she explained. “And if you go to take it off and it’s not done, the voice of God will be like, ‘that could probably do with 10 more minutes’. So you’re never at risk of eating something raw.”

Perhaps the most gruelling aspect of the show isn’t the creepy crawlies, but the schedule. Grace painted a picture of a routine designed to keep the stars exhausted.

The day begins when the hosts arrive live on air. “We hear Ant and Dec do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here so we know it’s 7.30 in the morning,” she said.

However, the days are long. Dinner often doesn’t arrive until 8pm or 9pm, followed by washing up and mandatory diary room sessions.

“Before you’re allowed to go to bed, you all have to do your bush telegraph things,” she recalled. “So I genuinely think we were going to bed at midnight and up again at 6.30am.”

GK Barry placed fifth in the 2024 series, being the eight contestant eliminated from the jungle.

Eagle-eyed I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans spotted a subtle clue they believe a jungle romance is on the cards.

Tuesday night’s show opened with Aitch play fighting with Lisa Riley in the camp, scenes witnessed by former EastEnders star Shona McGarty. Viewers noticed the actress even lick her lips as Aitch, a rapper, stood topless in front of her.

Shona, 34, also shot a playful glance toward Aitch as she watched him and Lisa argue, catching him mid–muscle flex. We reported this week chatter of a potential Jungle romance between Shona and the 25-year-old musician, speculation of which her family appeared to approve.

And I’m a Celeb viewers also appeared to back the romance, with many taking to social media during last night’s episode and into this morning. One posted: “Shona, we see you checking out Aitch there.” Another shared: “OMG Shona is licking her lips at Aitch topless. Did anyone else see?”

Shona, who played Whitney Dean in EastEnders for 15 years, broke up with her musician fiancé, David Bracken, earlier this year. Insiders say the split is amicable, and he recently wished her all the best for the jungle on social media platforms.

Aitch is also single after splitting with Lois Cottam before going into the Jungle. Dec previously said he was shell-shocked by Aitch’s comments when watching the scenes shortly before they aired, on Friday night.

And, after arriving at Brisbane Airport, the actress’ sister Camila delivered her verdict on the rapper. She said: “He is a nice guy…I would definitely have him around for Christmas.” Aitch confessed his feelings about Shona to Angry Ginge at the end of last week, admitting: “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Shona, me.”

Aitch, real name Harrison Armstrong, sparked hopes of a jungle romance on last Friday’s episode. The star, from Manchester, took a dip in the Aussie camp’s creek, and said: “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Shona, me.”

His pal and co-star Angry Ginge replied: “I think she’s really nice, if that’s what you mean, yeah…” Aitch said: “Yeah, that’s what I mean.” Ginge responded: “Yeah, she is.”

I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec have shed light on how Shona McGarty smuggled a huge can of air freshener into the camp. Fans were left mystified when producers spotted Alex Scott’s tiny stolen salt and pepper packets but failed to notice the EastEnders‘ star’s much bigger contraband until she revealed it herself.

During the episode that aired on 24 November, Alex was caught with her smuggled goods and campmates were all punished together, losing one star off their dinner. Bosses demanded that campmates produce all contraband, at which point, Shona revealed she had been hiding an enormous can of air freshener.

Viewers struggled to understand how she hid such a big item and how she got it into the camp in the first place. One said on social media: “I think we’re all baffled as to how Shona managed to smuggle a can of air freshener in.”

But Ant and Dec have now revealed how she did it. On Unpacked after the show, the pair addressed the situation and said they think they know how she did it.

When asked who they thought might face the next task, the hosts hypothesised that the campmates who brought in contraband might be punished. “Will it be Shona for smuggling in that air freshener?” asked Dec.

“Where did she hide that? Where does one hide an air freshener?” asked Ant, prompting his co-host to say he thought he knew what had happened. “I think I know where she got it. She nicked it from the trial.”

Kemi Rogers asked if she hid it under her top, and Ant said he didn’t know, but Dec was sure that she must have stolen it from a Bushtucker Trial rather than bringing it all the way from the UK.

A few days ago, Shona, alongside Alex, Jack Osbourne and Martin Kemp faced a Bushtucker Trial where they were locked in cages, sitting on makeshift toilets. The group had to try and retrieve stars from where they were bolted to bars in front of them, as bugs fell from above them.

Though the trial did not involve air freshener, and as such, none was visible to audiences, production may have had one on hand, which Shona may then have swiped.

Shona’s campmates didn’t seem to happy with her secret antics. Martin Kemp headed to the Bush Telegraph to call her out for smuggling the air freshener in, as did Jack who said: “There’s always one.” Kelly Brook added: “I thought we were a team.”

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers have taken to social media adamant producers are “giving Kelly Brook too much airtime”.

Fans of the programme suggested there hasn’t been a fair distribution of airtime and some think ITV are playing up to their favourites. Kelly, 46, is striving to win the show but faces tough competition from the likes of Tom Read Wilson, Shona McGarty, Vogue Williams and Martin Kemp.

Many intriguing moments of this series have concerned Kelly, including how she appeared to forget it was her birthday on Sunday, and a dig at Jack Osbourne. However, writing on Reddit and other social media apps, viewers have shared their frustration of airtime given to Kelly, a model and actress.

One person asked on Reddit: “But why are the editors so obsessed with her?… Catching up on Saturday’s show, and oh my GOD it’s like nobody else is there. Kelly is in almost every shot it feels like. Compared to Shona, who was actually in the trial and didn’t get the breakfast, Kelly seems to be on-screen constantly.” Another posted: “I couldn’t believe how little Shona was shown last night. I said to my husband about it.”

Viewers referred to 34-year-old Shona, who played Whitney Dean in EastEnders between 2008 and 2024. One fan described her as “funny and entertaining” and expressed disappointment the actress had “little screen time” despite taking part in a recent Bushtucker Trial.

Shona, originally from Barnet, north London, has taken part in three trials, more than Kelly’s two. However, recent episodes have explored Kelly’s “feud” with Jack, media personality and son of tragic Ozzy Osbourne.

Jack and Kelly clashed over preparing fish for dinner, which followed on from when Jack criticised her potato slicing while preparing a previous meal in the jungle.

But other social media users also stressed, despte the row, they’d like to see the air time split evenly. One wrote: “Let’s hear more from others, like Alex [Alex Scott].” Another viewer posted: “I wish they would give others, rather than Kelly, more screen time. It’s annoying.”

However, Kelly, who was in The Italian Job and Ripper among other films, faced scathing criticism before going into the jungle. Trolls made vicious comments about her figure, which led to husband Jeremy Parisi to defend his spouse. The actor, who wed Kelly in 2022, said: “I’m so happy to see Kelly being so confident and happy in her own skin, it’s hard for women in the public eye to be put under such scrutiny but she is a positive role model for so many women which is something she should be proud of.”

JESS Glynne has hinted she’s already bought an engagement ring to propose for girlfriend Alex Scott.

Her I’m A Celebrity star partner said on the ITV show she was “waiting” for the pop star to pop the question.

Since then, Jess has suggested she’s already got a plan in place to make Alex’s dream come true.

Speaking to Hits Radio presenter Tom Green, Jess admitted that the “pressures on” after hearing Alex mention “the ring” in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.

However once she heard it, Jess admits: “I went to the shop straight after….”

She was performing at Hits Radio Live in Birmingham’s bpPulse Live Arena tonight alongside Alex Warren, Jade, Myles Smith and Calvin Harris.

“She approached me in Chiltern Firehouse…I was in there with my friends and she just walked up to me… [it was] really ballsy.

“I was like, I like your ballsiness, and then the spark was just instant and then yeah…we fell madly in love.”

Asked if marriage was on the cards, Alex said, “I will get married to her, just waiting for her to ask, Rubes.”

Jess drove fans wild as she went on Instagram, saying, “I better go get a ring.”

The pair are thought to have started dating in the summer of 2023, all before going public with their romance that October.

Former Lioness Alex previously told The Sun what she’ll miss about Jess while she spends time in the Australian jungle.

But he claims he faced ­discrimination from his first day at Harvey Nichols in London in January 2024. He was let go in December the same year. 

His employment tribunal case against the company is due in April. Harvey Nichols said it was unable to comment ahead of it.

A second star has opened up about entering I’m a Celebrity as a latecomer.

Vogue Williams has already blitzed the Christmas shopping, filled the cupboards and menu-planned for the next month. But now the mum-of-three is about to swap managing everything at home for running the gauntlet in the jungle. The Irish presenter, who turned 40 last month, is entering the I’m a Celebrity camp on Thursday as a latecomer with Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson.

And she admits she likes the idea of playing the game like a certain hit BBC show. “I would not mind causing a bit of mischief, a bit like Traitors vibes,” she laughs. “I don’t want to annoy anyone, but I think I am very much willing to go along with the game.”

At home in London, life with husband Spencer Matthews and their three young children is a well-drilled operation. The couple share son Theodore, six, daughter Gigi, four, and youngest son Otto, three, and it is leaving them that is preying on her mind more than any Bushtucker Trial. “My only real worry is missing the kids and missing Spencer and missing my family,” she said.

“I have done all my Christmas shopping. I have done our food shops for the next four weeks. I have organised everything down to a tee because I kind of do all that stuff at home, so I have got everything organised so I do not have to worry when I get back.” Vogue had to think carefully about how much she told the children after agreeing to take part.

“I had to be careful telling my kids, because they have a bigger mouth than me,” she laughed. “I have ignored everybody who has been texting asking if it’s true? I am like, ‘ignore, ignore.’

“I showed the kids the last series to get them into it, and they absolutely loved it when people were having an absolute nightmare. So if I get thrown in with rats, that will be their dream.”

The star, who has built a huge following through her podcasts and radio work, says the strangest part of being Down Under is suddenly not being in charge of everyone’s day from the moment she wakes up. “It is such a strange feeling, because obviously when you have kids, you have got this massive responsibility, and the first thing that you think of in the morning is them and all day it is about how you are going to organise everything that they need. And it is a really strange feeling not to have to do that. It is very relaxing.”

Part of the reason she signed up for the hit ITV show was turning 40 and realising how set in her ways she had become.

“I am too comfortable in life,” she said. “I sleep with four pillows in my bed just for me. I think you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone, particularly when I turned 40. I was getting kind of stuck in my ways a little bit. I like things a certain way. I mean, I like to walk around the park a certain way and everything.”

She said she was oblivious to what she was getting herself in for which was a difficult concept to grasp as she was such a control-freak. “It is going to be so weird, so different. I don’t even know what is happening at all. I do not know if I am going to be flung off a building, so for someone who loves control and to have a level of organisation around things, it is really weird for me to have all of that taken away.”

But she says there was one unexpected bonus: having her phone confiscated by producers.

“My phone got taken away yesterday, and even that, it has not really bothered me,” she said. “I have not watched the last two episodes of Selling Sunset but we will wait till I get back.”

She is braced for the lack of treats to play havoc with her usually steady mood.

“You do not really know how you are going to be affected by things such as no sugar, or even salt. All those things will make it a little bit harder. I am quite a stable person emotionally, really. But I think going in there and having all that taken away, and then kind of not being with people you know, might be difficult.”

As for the home-comforts she will miss the most, she admits: “Coffee in the morning, the four pillows, my really comfortable bed, a nice toilet that I do not have to share with anyone, my LED face mask, food, loads of food, I love eating,” she said.
