Everything you need to know about who Gregory Bridgerton marries
Bridgerton fans are eagerly speculating about the romantic future of Gregory Bridgerton, the youngest son of the family, as portrayed by Will Tilston. He showed his first signs of becoming a man as he entered the world of “dating” during the Regency era, participating in recitals.
In season four, part two, Gregory is seen seeking advice from his friends and brother Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) about finding love. He later panics during preparations for Hyacinth’s (Florence Hunt) recital when she mentions that “gentlemen fetch ladies lemonade if he is interested in them”.
Gregory becomes alarmed that no one had previously informed him of the importance of lemonade when meeting a woman. His eagerness to find someone he loves hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans. According to Julia Quinn’s novels, on which the series is based, Gregory’s romantic journey is already mapped out in “On the Way to the Wedding.”
He initially falls for Hermione Watson and seeks help from her friend Lady Lucinda “Lucy” Abernathy to win her affection. Lucy is already engaged to another man, making her assistance seem harmless. However, as they spend more time together, Gregory and Lucy end up falling head over heels for one another instead.
The pair eventually marry and have a whopping nine children. Many of their children are named after Gregory’s siblings, including Eloise, Anthony, and Francesca. Viewers will need to wait as seasons five and six will focus on Eloise and Francesca Bridgerton, with Gregory’s love story not due to be explored for a few more years.

Bridgerton: Five bombshells from season four
Bridgerton’s showrunner has finally addressed rumours that there are plans to recast some of its key characters going forward.
Two years after Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan ) and Colin Bridgerton ( Luke Newton ) became official, the Netflix period drama returned to delve into Benedict Bridgerton’s (Luke Thompson) journey.
As expected with the free spirited second eldest son, his story wasn’t going to be a simple one as Benedict fell for maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) but luckily, they managed to get their happy ever after.
Something that has troubled some fans though is the fact that season one’s Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) has failed to return to the show since the second series.
Much to some fans’ disappointment, Daphne didn’t even show up at the funeral of sister Francesca Bridgerton’s (Hannah Dodd) husband John Stirling (Victor Alli).
The same can be said for her husband Simon, Duke of Hastings (Rege Jean-Page) who hasn’t been in Bridgerton since it first launched in 2020.
Their lack of absence has led viewers to question if Daphne and Simon could be recast for future series so their characters can feature in the show.
However, showrunner Jess Brownell has shut down this speculation, explaining why she wouldn’t want to axe Dynevor and Jean-Page from the Bridgerton universe.
“We are not interested in recasting the characters,” she told Variety.
“I think it would [be] a disservice to everything Regé and Phoebe set up in season one, and all the beautiful work they put into those characters.
“We would love to potentially have them back at some point, but I think, logistically, we want to make sure we bring them back when we have something really meaty for them.
“To have them come back to say a line at a funeral and just prove that they were there, it wouldn’t feel right for many reasons.”
Brownell went on to add that she would love to “bring everyone back at some point in the future” but given the cast’s increasingly busy schedules, this may become a challenge.
Since leaving Bridgerton behind, Dynevor has starred in films including erotic thriller Fair Play, political drama Anniversary and conspiracy thriller Inheritance, to name a few.
Meanwhile, Jean-Page has been in spy thriller Black Bag, fantasy film Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and The Gray Man.
They aren’t the only ones who have been busy away from the Netflix hit as Anthony Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey has since gone on to star in Jurassic World Rebirth and the Wicked franchise.
But if Bridgerton ever did come to an end, could the final series bring the entire original cast back together again?
What happens in Bridgerton Season 4’s post-credits scene? – The Mirror

Some Netflix fans have been left scratching their heads after realising they missed one of Bridgerton’s biggest Season 4 plot points

Everything to know about Bridgerton Season 4’s post-credits scene including wedding
Bridgerton fans have been left utterly baffled after discovering they missed a crucial wedding scene hidden in the Season 4 finale. Some viewers believed the story ended with Benedict and Sophie dancing after their engagement at the same spot they first kissed during the masquerade ball, while others who stuck around until after the credits saw the duo getting married.
So what exactly happens during the scene? The post-credits scene shows Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek actually tying the knot, with many viewers completely unaware it existed.
It features Benedict waiting at the altar alongside his brother Lord Anthony, who tells him: “Never listen to me again,” as he references his previous advice to end things with Sophie. The wedding is attended by guests from all walks of life – not just high society – who are smiling as they watch Sophie walk down the aisle.
As the ceremony unfolds, the camera pans away from the action to reveal Benedict’s completed portrait of the Lady in Silver hung up on the wall. This time, the painting has Sophie’s face finally added.
Confused fans took to social media after seeing clips circulating online. One penned: “Wait what I never saw the wedding??? I’m so confused??” Another viewer admitted: “I had to go back and search for it today because I kept seeing screenshots from it.”
Elsewhere, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) returned with his wife Kate (Simone Ashley) to give Benedict some stern words of advice, while their mother Violet (Ruth Gemmell) was having relationship issues of her own. Here are just a few of the major revelations in the latter half of the season.
Cressida Cowper returned
Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen) was unveiled as the new Lady Penwood following her emotional exit in season three. After surprising Penelope Bridgerton (Nicola Coughlan), she revealed Lord Penwood was an old friend of her aunt Joanna’s, and had taken a liking to her when he was visiting the family in Wales.
Cressida had formed friendships with both Penelope and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) for her own gain and had even threatened to unveil Penelope as Lady Whistledown if she did not help her restore her reputation.
Cressida had been forced to leave society after her father took away her dowry, and she did not have enough money to attract a suitor.
She and Joanna moved to the countryside in the hope she would be able to find someone outside of the ton. Thankfully, things seemed to work in her favour and she even reconciled with Eloise.
Penelope gave up Lady Whistledown
After realising she was holding too much power as Lady Whistledown and felt like she was destroying people’s lives, Penelope asked Queen Charlotte’s (Golda Rosheuvel) permission to give up her column.
At first, the Queen refused, saying she enjoyed the gossip too much to see Lady Whistledown buried once and for all.
However, the Queen had a change of heart towards the end of the season, realising she needed to let society live their lives, and allowed Penelope to step down.
Penelope unveiled Lady Whistledown’s final pamphlet at the Queen’s ball, but it transpired it was not the end of the gossiper after all.
As the season concluded, someone else had decided to step up to the plate, although their identity is yet to be revealed.
The Queen set Lady Danbury free
After denying Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) the right to leave society and visit her homeland, the friends were both left in an unhappy place.
However, the Queen eventually learned she could not trap her friend for the sake of her own contentment, and with a nudge from those closest to her, she agreed Lady Danbury could leave.
While Lady Danbury stressed she would not be gone forever, there were a lot of emotional goodbyes as she had forged some priceless friendships over the years.
Fans will have to wait and see whether she appears in season five.
John Stirling died
For those who have read author Julia Quinn’s novels, they will know the ultimate fate of Francesca Bridgerton’s (Hannah Dodd) husband was drawing closer.
After spending some leisure time with his wife and his cousin Michaela (Masali Baduza), John said he wished to have a nap as he had a headache.
He had asked Francesca to wake him, but when Francesca went to stir her husband, he did not respond and she quickly realised he had died in his sleep.
A funeral was held, followed by a celebration of his life at their family home.
While the series does not say how John died, Quinn explains in the books he had a brain aneurysm.
Sophie discovered the truth about her inheritance
Some major revelations came about for Benedict and Sophie after the second Bridgerton son finally realised the maid he had fallen in love with was in fact the Lady in Silver all along.
He made the connection after finding Sophie’s mother’s necklace, which she had lost, and realised the mysterious woman from the ball had been wearing the same piece of jewellery.
Believing Araminta had been lying to Sophie about her inheritance, Benedict urged her to locate her father’s will so she could find out whether Lady Gun was telling the truth.
After locating the will, Sophie learned her father had left equal portions of the dowry to Sophie and Araminta’s two daughters. She was also able to use this to confirm she came from nobility and could therefore marry Benedict without being shunned.
At the Queen’s ball, Benedict and his mother Violet forced Araminta to come to an arrangement with Sophie, so neither of them would need to go to prison.
Araminta’s allegations were dropped and in return, the Bridgerton’s did not reveal she had lied and stolen Sophie’s inheritance.
A post-credit scene saw Sophie and Benedict finally tie the knot after he proposed to her at the Queen’s ball.

An upcoming adaptation of a bestselling rom-com has landed a major Bridgerton star for the leading role
Bridgerton star lands role in ‘perfect’ rom-com fans have read ‘over and over’
Bridgerton sensation Phoebe Dynevor has secured the leading role in Beach Read, the forthcoming film adaptation of Emily Henry’s chart-topping romantic novel.
First released in 2020, the story centres on two authors and former university competitors who cross paths again unexpectedly, embarking on a literary duel whilst vowing to resist any romantic entanglement.
Dynevor, celebrated for her portrayal of Daphne Bridgerton in Netflix’s smash-hit Regency drama’s debut season, will take on the part of romance writer January Andrews.
Within the narrative, January faces off against and ultimately develops feelings for Gus Everett, whose casting remains unannounced.
Devotees of Henry’s work have grounds for enthusiasm regarding the upcoming adaptation, as Yulin Kuang is at the helm. Kuang co-authored Netflix’s recent take on People We Meet on Vacation, featuring Emily Bader and Tom Blyth, reports the Express.
Kuang is also crafting the screenplay, with 20th Century Studios backing the project, ensuring audiences can expect a cinema release.
The complete film synopsis from Deadline states: “Beach Read is a romantic comedy following January Andrews, a successful romance novelist who struggles with grief and writer’s block after her father’s death and the discovery of secrets he’s long kept hidden.”
“While spending the summer in his Michigan beach house to prepare it for sale, she unexpectedly reconnects with Gus Everett, an author who was once her rival in college.
“Both creatively stuck, they agree to a writing challenge over the summer, swapping literary genres while promising that there will be no romance between them. Of course, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.”

Beach Read does not currently have a release date.
Known for her portrayal of Eloise, the sharp-tongued and defiant fifth child in Netflix’s popular period drama Bridgerton, Jessie is set to take on a contrasting role in Up To No Good. The six-part series marks the television writing debut for playwrights Nina Raine and Moses Raine, who have adapted Helen Tursten’s short story collections An Elderly Lady Is Up to No Good and An Elderly Lady Must Not Be Crossed.
A press release teasing the forthcoming series reveals that Fatal Attraction star Glenn Close will portray Maud Oldcastle, described as “a hilariously brusque, cantankerous, ruthless older woman-and those are her nice qualities”.
The synopsis continues: “She is also a killer. Determined to break from a lifetime spent caring for her sister, Maud sets out to claim a long-overdue second act, but when a suspicious young detective investigating a death in Maud’s building starts to believe there is more to her than meets the eye, Maud is forced to reckon with her crimes, present and past.”
Toxic Town’s Jessie will be stepping into the shoes of young detective Hannah, with Andor’s Gloria Obianyo portraying Astrid, EastEnders‘ Anita Dobson as Elsa, Game of Thrones’ Ben Crompton playing Barry, and The Wheel of Time’s Meera Syal taking on the role of Margaret. Rounding off the star-studded cast announcement, Downton Abbey’s Penelope Wilton will be seen as Charlotte, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Rebecca Holdsworth, Commissioning Editor for Drama at Channel 4, expressed her excitement in a statement: “Nina and Moses Raine’s deliciously dark and witty world has drawn together a truly fantastic line-up, and we’re excited for audiences to be introduced to Maud Oldcastle and the unforgettable characters surrounding her. UP TO NO GOOD promises a bold, razor sharp and wickedly entertaining series that feels undoubtedly Channel 4.”
Scott Huff, Joint Managing Director, Playground, also shared his enthusiasm, saying: “We are thrilled to have brought together this extraordinary group of artists for UP TO NO GOOD. A cast of this calibre is a testament to Nina and Moses’s brilliant scripts, our casting director Robert Sterne’s exceptional taste and Glenn Close’s legendary talent. We can’t wait for audiences to see this group of actors together on screen.”
Andrew Plotkin, EVP of Drama Development at Sony Pictures Television, commented: “We are thrilled to have Lee Haven Jones directing the series, not only setting the tone, but immersing himself on the ground throughout production. With a standout cast joining Glenn to bring Nina and Moses’ brilliantly crafted scripts to life, their collaboration further elevates the storytelling at the heart of UP TO NO GOOD. What’s coming together is remarkable, and audiences are in for something truly special.”
The new series will see Claudia in a character completely different from her present role as an outspoken and curious Bridgerton daughter, who desperately resists societal pressures and would rather immerse herself in books than attend balls, showing minimal interest in marriage or potential suitors.
The current season follows Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) as he searches for a mysterious woman, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), whom he met at a masquerade ball. It’s also building towards Eloise’s storyline, with Claudia having previously hinted at what lies ahead for her character when her moment in the spotlight eventually arrives.
The Shonda Rhimes production, based on Julia Quinn’s novels, first graced our screens in 2020, tracing the romantic journey of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page). The following two series then saw the eldest Bridgerton sibling Anthony (Jonathan Bailer) tie the knot with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), and third Bridgerton son Colin’s (Luke Newton) passionate affair with the true author of Lady Whistledown, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
Discussing how the current series is paving the way for her own season, Claudia shared with RadioTimes.com: “Eloise is desperately trying to find her way of doing it, right? That’s what I’ve always been excited to be able to one day do, is to show love or romance or whatever her journey is in the most Eloise way possible. I think she’s just trying to find out her way of doing it.”

She further added: “That’s what I think the set-up is until ultimately we see what her way of doing it is, her version of it. I’m buzzing to one day do it. I love this show with my whole heart.”
Discussing the future of her character, she previously shared with Netflix Tudum: “I like the idea of her becoming political. Obviously, romance is a very important part of the show, but out of all of the characters, Eloise is the one you’d like to see go a slightly different route. Because we see it in Season 2 where she’s meeting different people in different parts of society and reading new things, so I’d like to see that continue. Right now, she’s young and she’s just taking everything in. But I’d like her to have a really clear purpose, something that she really desires.”
