Major update on Love Island stars Whitney and Lochan’s bitter court battle

Occasional Digest - a story for you

LOVE Island’s Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo have quietly ended their furious legal fight, insiders tell The Sun.

The pair had been heading for a High Court showdown after Lochan claimed Whitney had defamed him by alleging he had called her skin “dirty”.

A source close to Lochan and Whitney, who were coupled up in the 2022 series of the hit ITV show, said they understood the pair had now come to an agreement over the dispute and were drawing a line in the sand.

They said: “Lochan and Whitney have quietly ended their dispute and are moving on.

“Both of them instructed legal teams and, what came to pass, was that this was going to end up as a very ugly, and very expensive, row.

“People who know both Lochan and Whitney have said the dispute has now been ended and that they’re just moving on with their lives.”

The Sun has contacted Lochan and Whitney’s representatives for comment.

We first reported on the brewing row between the former lovers back in August.

At the time we told how Lochan had instructed the same lawyers who represented David Williams in his legal dispute with Britain’s Got Talent.

His claim would have seen him seeking damages from defamation and malicious falsehood.

At the time Whitney’s representative told The Sun she would take action to defend herself against any claim.

In a statement given to The Sun, they said: “Whitney has instructed her own legal team and is very confident in her position.

“If any claim is issued by Mr Nowacki, it will be vigorously defended.”
Lochan brought the claim against Whitney after she posted a video online which alleged he used racial slurs during their relationship.

In it she said: “Lochan, are we doing this? Are we really going to go for the nice boy, puppy dog eye, look? Really?

“Back to the situation of how it happened.

“We were walking back from lunch, going back to his place, and I was like, ‘Babe, look how my skin glistens in the sun’.

“And he looked at me and he was like, ‘Ugh, it’s dirty’.

“And then only when I lashed out, he was like, it was a joke, it was a joke. He was crying.”

Lochan hit back and said: “For the avoidance of doubt, I categorically deny and refute the information that has been spread about my family and myself online.

“More than anything, I want to close this down and for us both to move forward separately.”

Neither Whitney nor Lochan have since commented on the legal row.

Last month The Sun reported that Whitney had been approached to appear in the next series of Love Island All Stars.
