UNIQLO is home to multiple viral fashion pieces, and for good reason.

The retailer nails the balance between comfort and style, stocking everyday staples that get more than their money’s worth of wear.

Uniqlo’s viral crossbody bag was quite literally everywhere when it was released, and the retailer’s linen blend trousers are yet another trending gem.

I tried the Uniqlo Linen Blend Trousers for myself, and I can confirm they nailed the brief.

The £20 buy features a relaxed silhouette, straight leg, drawstring waist and of course, pockets.

Capsule trousers are a must for any wardrobe — I’m talking a pair that can be worn every season and thrown on with just about any other item.

I hate feeling restricted in my office outfits, so the stretchy drawstring waist is ideal for keeping comfortable all day.

Linen is a popular choice for the warmer weather, but the lightweight material is also great for the transitional seasons (I’ll be wearing the trending brown shade throughout the autumn).

The trousers come in eight colours, ranging from neutral beiges and blacks to orange and green tones.

While the silhouette is relaxed, the drawstring waist can be pulled tighter for a cinched fit.

As the trousers are so versatile, they’re going to be flattering on every body type.

My favourite feature? The quality.

The linen blend fabric feels airy while still being thick, so there’s no risk of them being see-through (although I can’t speak for the lighter colours).

If I tried these on blind, I would assume they costed a lot more than £20.

They’re incredibly comfortable, but unlike sweatpants or leggings, they also make me feel put-together and stylish.

Uniqlo also offers alterations on certain items.

Shoppers can choose to adjust the inseam length of the trousers for free, which is great for those who can never quite find the perfect length.

I’ve been wearing the versatile trousers with T-shirts and cardigans during working from home days, and I also dressed it up slightly by opting for a boat neck top.

I could see the affordable fashion find looking great with an off-shoulder top, heeled boots and chunky jewellery for an elevated evening look.

The easy-to-wear trousers will get more of their fair share of use, and for less than £20, they’re a bargain.

Shoppers agree, as the Uniqlo staple has received a 4.7-out-of-5 star rating online.

One fashion fan wrote: “These trousers are honestly some of the most comfortable I own.

I can move around in them easily and without restriction — 10/10, would highly recommend.”

Another added: “Uniqlo’s linen blend trousers are a stylish, affordable, and practical addition to a wardrobe. 

The fabric blend keeps them breathable yet less prone to heavy crinkles, so they’re travel-ready with a comfortable waist.”

Tourists are warning fellow flyers to brace for pat-downs especially if you are bit sweaty at airport security especially if it’s hot and your trousers are clinging in awkward places…

Flying is stressful enough. Add unnecessarily hot weather to the mix, and, being a nervous flyer plus a public groin search, it’s chaos. According to travellers online, if you’re even slightly sweaty, especially down there, airport body scanners might just flag it.

One tourist took to Reddit to share their baffling experience after being stopped for a pat-down in the same spot, not once, but twice, while going through a US Transport Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint, UNILAD reports.

They wrote that they were a “5’8″, 169lbs, midsized adult woman”, and explained: “My crotch was flagged twice.” They added that they were wearing “bike shorts and normal underwear”.

Another Redditor asked what many were probably thinking: “Were you sweating?” The woman replied honestly: “Probably a little, I’m terrified of flying, so I was nervous.”

While she wasn’t offended by the pat-down, she couldn’t help but wonder why she was targeted and her wife wasn’t.

And she’s far from alone. One man shared a similar saga online after noticing his “sensitive area” kept setting off the scanner no matter what he wore. He tested everything from double-knee trousers to pyjama bottoms in an attempt to get through unnoticed. Still, no luck, he was patted down every time.

Eventually, someone in the thread offered what seemed like the most plausible explanation.

“I’ve flown a lot over the last few years. I’m a bigger guy, and I’ve had that problem. My unscientific testing has told me the following. If I’m sweaty, I’m getting a pat down. The machine triggers on sweat, especially in the lower back and private areas.”

Apparently, sweat can create odd shadows on the scanner image, and that’s when TSA officers step in.

The seasoned flyer continued: “Boxer briefs over boxers, the boys need to be high and tight. Pants material doesn’t make too much of a difference. What does is sag. When you get in the machine, pull your pants as high up as you can. Sagging pants make a shadow or something, and it guarantees a pat down.”

And if you’re thinking this is all a bit much, they did offer one final word of reassurance: “The last thing is to be patient. They don’t want to search you down there any more than you want to be searched, but sometimes it’s just going to happen.”

So, if you’re heading on holiday and find yourself sweating buckets in the airport queue, maybe give those clingy trousers a miss. Or at least hoik them up properly before the scanner. And definitely don’t leave the fan at home to keep yourself cool, or you could be facing a sweaty pat down.
